Family Can Come As If By Magic

Chapter 7

When Cedric came outside to join the girls outside in the gardens, he the his niece and daughter were soon playing dazzle ball with James, Amber and Madeline having a grand old time.

So he decided to sit at one of the small tables and watch them play, until they were so tired, that they laid on the grass to cool down and watch the clouds go by, that's when Cedric decides to make his presence known.

Going over the group, casting a shadow as he stands over Sofia and Calista smiling, making them smile back at him and made room for him to laid between them, once he got flat on the grass he started to telling them stories about the pictures in the clouds and about how as a child, both he and Rolan, along with their sisters Tilly and Cordelia used to climb trees, explore the castle, look at the clouds, stars and even pull the odd prank here and there.

After awhile, they were all hungry and ready to eat the lunch that Baileywick brought out to them, after thanking Baileywick for his hard work they all dived into the food, enjoying every bite and gulp of their food and drinks, until they were so full that they couldn't eat another bite.

By the time lunch was ending both Sofia and Calista were yawning and could barely keep their eyes open and so without saying anything, Cedric picks Calista and Sofia up, cradling them close as he thanks the others and was off, walking back into the castle towards Sofia's room, where he put them both down for a much needed nap in Sofia's large bed and after giving them both a kiss the forehead he dims the lights and closes the door and goes back to his workshop and got started on some reading that he need to catch up on.

When he looks up to the clock he saw that almost 2 hours had pass so he decided that it's time for the girls to get up, he puts his book aside and makes his way to Sofia's room and smiles when he hears giggling and talking coming from behind the door, he knocks on the door and wait for a moment, then the door open to reveal Calista who was happy to him.

"Uncle Ceddy! Come play tea parties with us!" Cedric just lets the girl drag him into the room, where he spots Sofia sitting at a small table with her purple play tea set and fake cakes on the plates.

After Calista got him close to where they playing she lets go of his hand and quickly sits back down in her spot next too Sofia, waiting for him to sit.

Cedric decided to play along with them and straighten his back and said in his most regal voice he said...

"May I ask to join your tea party, your majesties." Cedric gave a mock bow, making the girls giggle at his silliness.

"Yes you may, Papa." Sofia said as Calista was still laughing at her Uncle as the man struggled alittle with trying to sit on the low child chair.

After pouring "tea" into one of the small cup, Sofia asked...

"Do you want milk or sugar?"

"No thank you, my lady."

Calista being a typical toddler, got bored quickly and decide she wanted to play a different game.

"I want to play dress up." Calista demanded rudely making Cedric frown and look at his niece sternly, before saying...

"What do you say, if you want something."

Calista rolls her eyes at her Uncle and said with sass.

"Say please and thank you."

Cedric narrows his eyes at the boldness and sternly said...

"Behave or you will go straight to time out, am I clear."

Calista pouts and replied with the same sassy tone.

"Crystal."

Cedric decided to let it slide, so he turns back to Sofia who had remain silent during their interactions.

"Sofia, you want to play dress up?"

Sofia wasn't feeling like dressing up today and said...

"No, Papa I want to paint please."

Cedric nods and get up to go get the supplies ready, when Calista who had been pouting about not getting her way, decided to start scream and throw a full blow tantrum.

Sofia was shocked and scared when the younger girl started to scream and threw herself onto the floor kicking and hitting the floor, so she got up and went over to where her was standing with his arms crossed, staring at his sternly as he waited her tantrum out, only to break his gaze away from the screaming toddler and saw that Sofia was uncomfortable with this whole situation so he told her to go find Amber, James or Madeline and stay with them for a bit.

Sofia nods and looks at the still screaming and kicking girl sadly before leaving to go find one of her adopted cousins/friends.

Onces Sofia left, Cedric resumes his waiting for Calista to wear herself out and eventually she stopped screaming, kicking and hitting the floor and just laided there pouting.

"Are you done?" Cedric said sternly as he made his way over to Calista who was now standing up.

Calista nods as she tries to get away from her approaching Uncle, but was caught before she could move a step and forced to look up at her Uncle stern face.

"You did a very naughty thing, by throwing a tantrum and scaring Sofia, you know that doing this it will get you put in time out everytime and you will apologize to Sofia for being naughty and scaring her with your poor behavior, now it's corner time, 4 minutes come on."

Cedric leads a reluctant Calista to the corner chair he conjurored and made her sit down, but before she could get up, he cast a sticking charm to keep her in place, making the girl give a scream of frustration as the man walked away.

He wait for Calista to calm down once more, before he start to time it.

For Calista, time out was torture and boring, but she knew what the reason was for being here and she felt bad about scaring her new friend, Sofia and knew that she needed to say sorry.

When the 4 minutes were up Cedric cancels the sticking charm and came over to where Calista was waiting.

"Time out is over, now will you be good girl next time."

"Yes, Uncle Ceddy, I am sorry, I love you."

Calista hugs Cedric who returns the embrace and said...

"I love you too, and I forgive you, but you still need to apologize to Sofia and give her hug too."

Calista nods and takes her Uncle's hand and off they went to go find Sofia.

When they finally found Sofia, she was in the twins playroom with Madeline playing a game of Go Fish, Calista lets go of Cedric's hand and runs over to where Sofia was sitting on the floor and gave her a big bear hug.

"I am sorry, that I was naughty, and that I scared you, please don't be sad no more." Calista said as she started to cry onces more.

"I forgive you, just don't do it again, okay." Sofia said as she returned the hug wholeheartingly and was smiling once more.

Madeline smiles as the two friend made up and pretty they were all playing go fish, as Cedric watched them all with a content smile on his face.
