Family Can Come As If By Magic

King Rolan was decribed as a busy, but kind man and always tried to make time for his family and if anyone tried to harm his family in anyway, there was no stopping him from unleashing his wrath onto them.
When he heard about what happen to his adopted niece, Sofia, he quickly sends guards to arrest the teacher for assaulting a child of the Royal Family and Staff and explains to the baffled husband about what he was told and the man nodded resigned as he drags his protesting children, who were expelled and had to work around the village as punishment.
Sofia for the most part was unaware of anything that King had done and was perfectly content with learning at home with her Papa, along with Madeline, until Amber and James came home they all did their homework together and played long and hard afterwards until dinner time and she was just perfectly content with her life right now.
For Cedric there some relief as he saw that his child was smiling once more and enjoyed her schoolwork more now that she wasn't be bullied by anyone. When the King told him about the fate of the teacher and her children, he felt that it was deserved.
"Papa, can you help with this spell, please?"
Cedric looks to see Sofia holding a picture of the spell that she need to do for her homework.
"Yes, it is simple enough spell."
Sofia smiles and goes over the table where the large pumpkin was sitting and with few key words and a wave of his wand, the pumpkin was changed into a squash.
"Now are you ready to try it?"
Sofia pulls out her wand and says with condfidence
"I'm ready!"
With a wave of her wand she said the words and nothing happen.
Cedric pats her shoulder in comfort and simply tells her a trick that his father had taught him when he had trouble with spells.
"It's okay that you didn't get it the first try, but I have a trick that will help you learn spells easily."
Sofia nods and mimicks her Papa's movements as he waves his wand.
"That it slow and steady, no need to rush, the pumpkin isn't going anywhere."
When he felt that Sofia got the hang of it, he said to try again.
Sofia tried it again onces more and squeals with excitement when she finally did it.
"I did, thank you!" Sofia said hugging her Papa happily.
Cedric smiles warmly as she did the spell once more with the same outcome.
"Papa, can we do another pinic dinner again, please."
Cedric pretends to think for a moment and gives the pouting girl a playful smile and said...
"Yes, we can, my little sorcereress."
Sofia hugs him again and runs off to get changed for their pinic.
Once she was done, Cedric holds out his hand for her to take, and then they were off to the royal kitchens to a basket of food and a pinic blanket.
After a delicious dinner and dessert, both father and daughter laid back on the blanket side by side to look at the stars.
"Papa, do you think that Mama is looking down at us right now?" Sofia asked as she was memorize by the stars, unaware that Cedric stiffen alittle at the sudden question, by he decided that he need to answer.
"I imagine she is looking down us and is smiling at you proudly and what you have done to help others, but Sofia, your Mama is always with you everywhere you go, not just up in the stars."
Sofia turns to her side towards Cedric and snuggles into the man seeking comfort.
"I miss her, I miss her laugh, smile and the smell of her cooking fresh bread and how she used to chase me around the house and tickle me when she caught me."
Cedric runs a hand through Sofia's hair in comfort before replying.
"It is perfectly alright to miss someone and I don't mind that you miss your mother, she was a major part of your life and I don't plan on replacing her, I will try my best to raise you to be the best you can be."
Sofia smiles as her eyes shined with unshed tears of both saddness and joy.
"I love you, Papa."
Cedric's heart warmed when he heard those simple words come out of his daughter's mouth.
"And I love you too, my little sorcereress."
As the night progressed, Cedric decided it was time to head inside and without wanting to wake his now sleeping child, he scoops her up in his arms and with a simple wave of his wand the stuff they had used for their pinic was gone and put away, back inside the castle for the next time.
Putting his wand away, Cedric walks back inside with Sofia sleeping in his arms and goes straight to Sofia's room and quickly changes her dress for simple, but warm purple nightgown and tucks her in, kisses her forehead and wishes a goodnight and leaves to go get ready for bed himself, but before he could do that he had to make sure that everything was locked up and put away and cleaned, before putting up some silent alarms that will alert him of anyone coming into his workshop as he slept.
Onces all that was done, he walks up the stairs to his room and changes into a pair of pajama pants, leaving the shirt off as he was hot from wearing his robes all day, when settled under the covers, he was asleep, the moment his head in the pillow.
