Family Can Come As If By Magic

Chapter 19

The aftermath of Ivy being expelled for trying to kill a student, had Cedric and Xenophilius both teaching their daughters magic and self defense that protected themselves, but to also defend and help others in need.

Sofia was unsure at first, but after a while she grew more confindent and Athena was no longer shy or scared now that she knew that she could do anything to protect her loved ones and friends.

The Posion crew was quickly disbanded by Headmaster and even some got expelled for trying to bully others or worse try to use harmful spells on innocent students, thankfully both Sofia and Athena put a stop to it quickly and brought them to the headmaster's office, where after a very through questioning, enither got expelled or suspended.

"So how are things in school now, since that girl is gone?"

Sofia startle out of her musing by her father's question who was curious about her and how she was coping since the attack.

"Things are fine, I am studying hard and if I am doing that I am just stopping any of Ivy's old crew from causing trouble and schoolwork is schoolwork."

Sofia sounded so tired and it showed thanks to the dark circles on her eyes.

Cedric was still concern that the attack on his daughter still rattled her, but she won't admit it and when ever he tried to press the issue, she would get angry and ran off.

Sofia for the most part was not coping as well she thinks she is and often time she can't sleep or when she does sleep, she is drowing in nightmares of lighting coming towards her and setting her on fire.

To stay awake she secretly swiped some of her Papa's Wide wake potions and as a consquence, her grades started to slip and she wasn't as alert as she needed to be and often times Athena had to save Sofia or lie to the teachers about something or other about an illness.

Cedric knew something was wrong with his daughter and before he could confront her about it, he would have to find proof.

When Sofia was sent off to school, Cedric did search Sofia's room and when he found the the empty bottles of Wide Wake Potions, he was angry, but he knew that he had to brew a cleansing potion to get potions out of Sofia's system and then he and her going to be having a long talk about the dangers of Potions dependency and how she was hurting herself by doing it.

Gathering all the empty bottle and finding where the rest were stashed he quickly cleans and locks away any potions that can cause dependency with a very powerful and advance locking charm.

After doing that he tries get some work done, but it was near impossible so he decided that he needed to vent and left to go the "Room" and release some of his pent up emotions so that he will be calmer when he confronts Sofia.

Once he got into the room, he takes his wand out and starts to blast and smash everything in the room, until he was out of breath and his temper had cooled down some, he leaves the room and goes not to the tower, but the gardens, hoping that the fresh air and calm area would help him find the answers as where he went wrong for his daughter to turn to potions for help, instead of him or her friends or family.

'You are a great father, better than I was a mother.'

Cedric was startled at first hearing who was Sofia's mother voice talking to him in his head.

'Miran? Is that really you?'

'Yes, Cedric it's me, but I don't have alot of time, I just wanted to tell you that it not your fault about Sofia, she is just scared and too stubborn to admit, just like someone else I know...'

Cedric looks sheepish as he is known to be stubborn at times and Miranda was only one that was able to match that.

'I admit I can be abit stubborn.'

'Abit? More like bullhead!' Miranda giggles alittle.

Cedric smiles, but it quickly falls as he remembers why he was out here in the first place.

'Miranda...what I am suppose to do? Our daughter is suffering and doesn't want me to help her.'

'You just need to have alot of love and patience and alittle strictness will go along way in taming any tatrums or anger, but just be there for her when she needs you and then she will talk to you eventually.'

With those words, Cedric could no longer hear the voice anymore and with a new found strength, got up and went to the enterance of the castle and waited until he saw Sofia's carriage coming down.

When Sofia exited the carriage, this time Cedric had a good look at his daughter and was sadden by what he saw.

Sofia was pale as snow, with dark circle around her eyes showing that she hasn't had good night sleep in ages and she had lost a lot of weight as her clothes were hanging off her.

"Papa, I don't feel so good." Was all Sofia said before passing out and thankfully caught by Cedric, who quickly runs up to the tower and puts her limp body on a empty table, with quick wave of his wand had the cleansing potion in his hand along with a strong sleeping potion, vitamins potion.

After giving her the potions, he carries her up to her room and tucks her in and pulls the desk out and sat beside her, knowing that tonight was a long and rough one.

Throughout the night Sofia woke up only to vomit or goe to the toilet with Cedric help of course as she was still weak from her earlier collaspe and Cedric did not leave her side at all and even fell asleep kneeling beside Sofia's bed, holding her hand.

The next morning shines brightly as Sofia wakes up dazed and confused for a moment until she remembers what happen and looks to see her Papa kneeling at her bedside, holding her hand and from the looks of it he hadn't slept well at last night and had just passed out, basically.

Gently Sofia takes her hand out of her Papa's grip and slowly, but carefully makes her way to the toilet.

After taking care of her business, she decided that she need at bath and quickly strips down to nothing and waits for the tub to fill with water, before getting in, sighing in relief as the hot water made her feel so much better and then she started to wash herself and afterwards got out drained the tub and wraps a towel around herself and quickly goes to her room, only to nearly run into her Papa.

"Oh thank merlin, don't scare me like that again." Cedric exclaimed embracing Sofia ignoring the fact that she was only in a towel.

"Papa, I have to get dressed." Sofia said bluntly, making man quickly release her and send her off to get dressed.

"Meet me downstair, we need to talk." Cedric said going downstairs not giving Sofia time to respond.

Once Sofia was dressed she slowly makes her way down the stairs, dreading the talk with her Papa, she knew that it was stupid and dangerous to take those potions, but she didn't care in the moment and now that she rested and had the potion out of her system, she realized that she was in deep trouble and it wouldn't surprise her if her Papa didn't trust her after this ever again.

When she got down the stairs and into the living room, she saw that her Papa was sitting in his favorite chair, steeling his hands as he looked so serious and cold that Sofia thought, he took a statue potion, but it was quickly dismissed as he turns to look her straight in the eye.

"Sit."

Sofia quickly obeys and tries very hard not to squirm in discomfort as he just stares her without saying another word.

"Words can not express the deep disappointment I feel right now. I can't even fathom as to why you did what you did, but I can say that you will have to gain my trust in you again and you will have to be punished for this, I don't like having to punish you at all, but it is necessary for you to learn from this and never, ever do this again."

Sofia was silently crying when she heard that her Papa did not trust her and he was disappointed in her.

"I-I am so so sorry!" Sofia cried as she cries into her hands feeling so ashamed of herself and her actions.

Cedric was struggling not to just scoop up his crying child into his arms and say that it would okay and all was forgiven, but he knew that it would do no good and he had to steel his heart as he just stares at her as Sofia calmed down.

"You are grounded and until I can trust you in my workshop, you are banned and are not allow to enter it unless it is an emergency of life or death, you are having your door removed for a month and I will put up a heavy thick blanket so that you have privacy, and I will have you writing lines for an hour everyday for 3 weeks and I want them in your best handwriting, I know that all this sounds harsh, but I care about you and I only want to teach you strong lesson about the dangers of stealing potions and taking them without knowing what it can do to you."

Sofia said nothing as she knew that it was going be to a long, hard road in gaining her father's trust back and trust in herself to never do something so dangerous again.
