CHAPTER SEVEN
(Chapter title - James & Two To Tango)

James patted Tango's shoulder as they reviewed their dressage pattern.

A tall Asian boy named Micky came over, mounted on his equally as tall horse - a chestnut Thoroughbred mare named Weeping Angel.

"Hey" James greeted Micky, smiling at the tall boy.

"Hey yourself" Micky said in a gentle voice, smiling kindly at James.

The two of them had met in their Introduction to Dressage the first day of camp and formed an instant bond.

"Wanna go to the midway after classes?" Micky asked as they walked their mares back to the stables.

"I wish I could, but I have barn duty" James said, "but I'll see you tonight for dinner."

"You bet. I'll save you a seat" Micky said, heading to where his 4-H group - Riding Together - was stabled.

As James did barn duty with Barney, Monica, Rachel and Ross, he couldn't keep his mind off Micky.

"Dude!" Ross said as James poured water all over him.

"What? Oh, Ross, I'm so sorry" James said, "I didn't see you there."

Ross rolled his eyes, "you've been distracted recently. What's up?"

"Just been thinking about Micky a lot" James said, handing Ross a towel so he could clean up.

"You guys getting serious?" Ross asked as he cleaned up.

"I don't know - I hope so" James said.

Ross shrugged and smiled a tiny bit.

After barn duty, James walked around, trying to find familiar faces.

"James! Over here!" Ted called from the stands.

James walked over and sat next to Ted, "what's up?"

"Just watching this class" Ted said, pointing to a girl with brown hair, "that's Gretchen. She's in my Baby Green class. Her horse's name is Elphaba."

"Nice" James said, "you better ask her out before Barney does."

"Barney likes David" James said, not taking his eyes off Gretchen, "so, how are you gonna ask her out?"

"I was thinking after this class" Ted said, watching the people and their horses exit the arena.

"Dude! Go!" James told Ted, helping him safely get off the bleachers, "don't run, but hurry."

Ted nodded and walked quickly over to Gretchen, "hey."

Gretchen smiled at Ted, "hey Ted. What's up?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to go for a walk with me" Ted said.

"Um sure. Let me put Elphaba away first. You can come with me" Gretchen said.

Ted grinned and shot James a thumbs up as he followed Gretchen.

James smiled, not hearing someone come up behind him.

"Boo" Micky said.

James jumped a mile in the air. He turned around, "you almost gave me a heart attack."

Micky chuckled, "I'm sorry. What are you doing?"

"I was hanging out with my friend Ted, but he's off with a girl" James said, "what are you doing?"

"I was gonna go to the midway and hang out. Wanna come?" Micky asked.

"Sure" James said, "I heard that tonight is Ride After Dark - where the park is open later than usual. Wanna see if you and my friends can go?"

"I think all of us were planning on going anyway" Micky said as he and James headed to the midway.

James smiled, "awesome."

That night, everyone from Horse Camp headed to the midway to ride the rides and play the games well into the night.

James, Micky, Gretchen, Ted, Barney, David, Phoebe, Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Robin, Lily, Joey, Kurt and Marshall all headed to the midway, talking and laughing.

Kurt also brought his girlfriend, Anna, along for the ride.

All of them climbed aboard the first ride - The Swinging Pirate Ship.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Everyone screamed, followed by laughter.

After the Swinging Pirate Ship, everyone went on The Scrambler, followed by the Carousel, Swing Ride, Himalaya and the Ferris Wheel.

"Let's play some games" Ted said, holding Gretchen's hand. He looked at her, "is this okay?"

Gretchen nodded, "yeah."

They played games for a while before heading up to the cabins - the guys going to the Stallion cabin and the girls going to the Mare cabin.

"Gretchen, wait" Ted said, handing Gretchen the dog stuffed animal she won.

"Thanks Ted" Gretchen said, starting to enter the Mare cabin. She looked over her shoulder, "did you need something?"

"Yeah - I was wondering if I could kiss you?" Ted asked.

Gretchen nodded, closing her eyes as Ted kissed her lips gently, "mmm."

"Good night" Ted said on Gretchen's lips.

"Good night" Gretchen echoed, entering the Mare cabin.

The following day, there was a total downpour, which cancelled outdoor classes, including all and any riding classes. Instead, the campers did worksheets about horses and had informative horse classes.

After classes, Micky, James, Ted and Gretchen snuck off to the cabins, making sure they weren't seen.

Gretchen led the way to the Mare cabin, while James and Micky went to the Stallion cabin.

James and Micky laid on James' bed, kissing each other everywhere their lips could reach.

"May I undress you?" James asked.

"Not yet" Micky said, kissing James' skin, "we'll get there eventually - I promise."

James nodded, "of course - let's not feel rushed."

Micky smiled, "wanna go play some air hockey?"

"Sure" James said, getting off his bed and followed Micky to the game room.

Ted and Gretchen kissed each other passionately. Ted had Gretchen lay on top of him as they made out.

"Are you ready for the next step?" Ted asked, looking into Gretchen's eyes, brushing her dark hair out of her eyes.

Gretchen shook her head, "not yet, but soon - I promise."

Ted nodded, "okay. Can we still kiss?"

Gretchen nodded and kissed Ted passionately, closing her eyes.

The four friends exited the cabins a while later and ran towards the barn.

Gretchen squealed as she and Ted ran in the rain to the barn, whereas Micky and James laughed.

The following day, the ground was still a mess, so everyone got on their horses and moved to the large indoor arena for a group lesson.

The arena was the size of a football field, which was big enough to hold all the riders and their horses.

"English riders, on one side. Western riders on the other" Sara said, using a headset.

The riders obeyed, going to opposite sides of the arena.

"I'll be in charge of the English riders and Stacey will be in charge of the Western riders" Sara said through her headset.

After the lesson, everyone headed to the mess hall for lunch, but not before taking care of their horses and their tack.

"To celebrate the end of Horse Camp, there will be a dance in the barn" Stacey said, using a microphone, watching the Western riders walk their horses, "you're welcome to go with whoever you want, then the following day, we'll have a horse show, then the fun classes. Please let your family, friends and whoever else is coming that the horse show starts at noon. Lunch will be provided between the horse show and the fun classes. After the last fun class has ended, please go to your cabins and empty them out before going to your horses."

There was excited chatter among the riders as they rode their horses for an hour before going to their barns.

James and Micky walked together on foot, their horses a safe distance apart, since Tango was a biter and a kicker.

"Can I ask you something?" Micky asked James.

"Sure" James said.

"Will you go to the dance with me?" Micky asked.

James nodded, "I would love to go to the dance with you."

"Great" Micky said, going to his barn.

James sighed and put Tango in her stall. He took off her saddle, saddle pad and bridle before putting on her halter and got her ready for bed, "I'll give you dinner, then I'll be back. Love you sweet girl."

Tango was too interested in sniffing her stall to care what James said. She perked her ears up as James returned with her dinner before going to join his friends for dinner.

As he fell asleep that night, James couldn't stop thinking about Micky.
