Pro Wrestling of Animation Facts 4: Sky High Arc
The name is Mr. Leaf Canary, the author of "Pro Wrestling of Animation", here to give you the behind the desktop, facts of the booking details and original plan throughout the year.
First of all, I want to thank you for supporting me and my work throughout the year. It would be a great appreciation to share and discuss this story to those who love anime/animation and pro wrestling.
Now firstly, I wanted to talk about the Arc's name, "Sky High". What does it mean? Frankely, it was a placeholder since I couldn't come up with a better name before starting up the arc. And the more and more as I was coming up with the name of the arc, it reminds me of two matches that I wanted to write for this year's Festival, which both had been planned before Wrestle Festival: The Third Act. And seeing my time schedule and events, I said to myself, "wow, the sky's the limit here because I'm not only doing two shows per event but also putting my mental state into jeopardy because of the hard work I must provide this year." And that is why I stick with the "Sky High" Arc. And yes, I had challenged myself to write every single event within two nights. All but two, which is quite ironic for me.
And what were the two matches that I wanted to write? They're quite obvious when you read them. So let's make our way towards our first event, Champion's Capital.
Champion's Capital
I actually remembered what the original Arc title was gonna be, it was gonna be under "Champion's Carnival" but I didn't want to rip off the name of the All Japan Pro Wrestling yearly tournament going by the same name. And another thing is that this was supposed to "New Year Chaos" since I pretty much like the name, and it fits well with all of the stuff I had to come up with throughout the near future. Next year I'll do it.
The PWA Men's World Championship
I didn't have a proper first event opponent for Eren Jaeger this year. I had been having actual regrets about not dropping the belt for Monkey D. Luffy, which was one of the options for the Third Act, but didn't work out in the end and Naruto Uzumaki was the opponent I came up with at the last minute. So the opening contest, the battle royal, was just an excuse to have an opponent for Eren Jaeger for this match, and as I was thinking to myself that he'll face Armin Arlelt later on in this year. So I chose Izuku Midoriya, for Eren to avenge his loss from Excelsior two years ago.
And this is to continue to add more frustration for Byakuya Togami, due to the fact that he is the main event player for this year. And there was gonna be a different payoff for Serenity this year. More to find out later.
The PWA Women's World Championship
I actually screwed up on this one, since it was originally meant to be Asuna Yuuki vs. Gwen for the World Championship, but since it wasn't in Canada, I had to come up with a different reason. So the beating she received that night before the show was an excuse to write Gwen out of the match for Champion's Capital, and replace her for Harriet Bree.
Making Harriet Bree as the Non-Binary character is actually based around her voice actor's actual sexual orientation of being non-binary. So I made up the idea of a Jersey inform of the Non-Binary Bunnies, which I actually forgot to add that detail. Regardless, it's actually quite fun coming up with that for Harriet.
The PWA Men's World Tag Team Championship
Actually, unlike the Men's World title match, I didn't know who to start first for this match. And another thing is that I originally wanted Porco to have a different tag partner instead of Andre, but I didn't want to waste Alejandro for this match, so I picked Andre on a last whim due to that I couldn't come up with another member.
The PWA Women's World Tag Team Championship
I loved seeing Ninny and Noel as the Tag Team Champions, that has always been the plan. I shot my own foot for not pulling the trigger for Road 2 Gold and seeing them being these Bad Brit Bitches is such an amazing sight to see. And it's quite poetic to me that the first challengers of the year are actually the first tag champions which I did have an idea for but couldn't execute it right.
The PWA Franchise Championship
Ah yes, the beginning of heel Tanjiro being this exorcist of the PWA. This gimmick started after seeing Hazbin Hotel, which one of the songs inspired me to write the main event match for Night 3 of Wrestle Festival, more to follow. But it was after I saw the Exorcists from the Hazbin Hotel, I said to myself that "Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps are basically them, just nicer to demons" rather than killing them in cold blood or pleasure. And I didn't come up with Tanjiro's Hidden Blade move from Will Ospreay, calling it the "Exorcism" since the move is basically like how he kills demons in the Demon Slayer show.
The PWA King & Queen Championship
I can't believe that I had convinced myself that I should do this division. I don't know what to do with these belts, or how it can be different from the Franchise and Diamond Championships. Actually, one of the original plans was to apply the Pressure Rule that each time the Champions retain the belts, they get an additional challenger in their next match. But there was actually a huge problem with that since the PWA King & Queen Championships are defended at every show, meaning that it would be chaotic to write. And I wouldn't know how to handle that, and plus, I would run out of mixed tag teams if I did try that, so I went with a simple "one team at a time" challengers. So that is what I went with, and unlike the other two belts I had mentioned, those multi-person matches are actually an answer to having an over bloated roster to get some screen time to work with.
Another thing, which was also planned when I came up with the belts, is having Ciel Phantomhive wanting these belts is something I wanted to do, so I built a little storyline around it.
The PWA Diamond Championship
Like Ciel wanting the PWA King & Queen Championships, this was also a planned thing since Night 3 of the Festival, making Ruby go through seven challengers which was originally planned till two months after posting this event. So I had to work around it, and see what and how I could do it.
Another thing is that I didn't have any real plans for Hannah Whitehouse, and I didn't have Natalie Blackstone as the first challenger because I wanted to have a competitive match till I recall that Loona was there, and having her beat down whoever the challenger is, so I picked out a person that I could work with and this had started a trend of ideas for making Ruby keeping her belt till Global Warfare. And the name change from Natalie Blackstone to her original Japanese name is also something I wanted to fill the time of a backstage interview. Speaking of.
Panty Anarchy vignettes
There was a plan of making Panty teaming up with someone at the Festival, against Owen and Rosemary for the King & Queen Championship belts. I didn't know who her partner was but it was up there for the time being.
And the AnimeFans is a straight up parody of OnlyFans and a reminder of my actual addiction to it a couple years back. Also, I think I based the pricing around one of the YouTubers, but I can't really recall but it was very outlandish for a month of subscription.
Broken Eclipse
The Women's World Championship
This match is absolutely one of my favorite matches to write about this year. I wasn't expecting to love it when I started writing it. And it works with a storyline that I wanted to conclude this year involving Bridgette. This match was pure magic to write, and like how Marinette managed to convince me on making her a main eventer at the Third Act, Gwen has proven to me that she too can be a main eventer, and I wanted Gwen to compete in her home country of Canada with the cast of Total Drama at the stage for her, it's quite fun to write and imagine. And speaking of Gwen,
The Women's World Tag Team Championships
I actually wanted Gwen vs. Asuna to be the start of the year while both Gwen and LeShawna were gonna challenge the belts here since it's from Canada, but I changed the booking here. My main problem with the change was on who's gonna be the next challengers then? I didn't have an overall idea but when I saw Maka and Maya, I knew it was gonna be something there, and wanted to write Maka away from the American Rhodes Church. And this is the start of it.
The American Rhodes Church is a group I actually have high hopes for, and I wanted to write Maka Albarn out of the group, and have Maya be that character to do it.
The Diamond Championship
Now this match was unique to me, or at least the ending of it. I had always wanted to see what would happen if the Champion retained the match by disqualification in a multi-person match. I took the chance, and I actually like the result of it. It brings out a challenge to me as a writer when it comes to multi-person championship matches.
As for Hitomi, she was originally booked to have a singles Outlaw Rules Match against Loona which was scrapped for the Four-Way Trios Match, and four way contest. I believe I was gonna bring in another character for the White Fang, but couldn't come up with anyone.
The King & Queen Championship
Natsu Dragneel & Lucy Heartfilia, and Ristarte and Seiya Ryuguin. These two teams were never meant to win these belts because I already know who to put the belts on, and it was gonna be something I can treat on the comic level, but these two teams weren't meant to be the actual challengers. The challengers were originally meant to be Andre Grandier & Satsuki Kiryuin, and Porco Galliard & Setsuna Higurashi, respectively. With ASTA and Noelle finding a way to win, and I believe I did want to add another member to VE, but couldn't find anyone else so I scrapped the idea of these matches, and put the official challengers as such.
Speaking of new members, I think I did toy with the idea of Reiner Braun joining into the VE but Porco is a better fit for it anyways.
The Franchise Championship
I believe I wanted this match to replicate the very first Wrestle Festival main event but I timed it wrong and pretty much botched it. It was supposed to be; ASTA vs. Izuku Midoriya vs. Tanjiro Kamado vs. Yuji Itadori, because these four were the Four Pillars of Shonen Jump.
The Men's World Championship
This match is something that was all planned to begin with, but there was another path to go to. Because I believe over a year ago, I wanted Oscar Pine to main event against Eren Jaeger and to be a one-sided beatdown. But I believe I would have used what I had with this match for the Goku match later this year.
And for the official challenger himself, Huey, he was meant to feud with Bow and the way it started is the way I imagine it. Bow cost Huey the World Championship, and it would have been the same if Bow was a challenger later down the road but couldn't execute right, so I settled with Bow being the Franchise Champion down in the year.
Having both Gwen and Huey compete in these matches for the February month and in Canada, it screams perfect for the hometown hero against one of the biggest bitches in PWA, and Huey competed in the Black History Month.
The Passing of Akira Toriyama
I didn't see it coming. And seeing everyone else pay tribute to him, I said to myself, "Oh boy, I'm gonna look like a complete asshole if I don't do a show for Toriyama." That's the idea of Dragon Dynasty, which was the name I set on till I changed the name to Dragon Star. Like I said throughout the months for this show, I didn't know where I was gonna put it in. The Tokyo Dome was always gonna be the place for the main show, but more on that later.
His death, like how the Rooster Teeth controversy before I posted Road 2 Gold Night 1, changed the direction of everything I was working on. The original match which was gonna be the semi main event of Night 2 was meant to be Kazuto Kirigaya vs. Son Goku. It was gonna be built up as Kirito was gonna be grooming Goku into his image only as a ruse to beat him down, only to reveal that Kirito wanted to beat Goku. I believe there were gonna be the comments made on Toriyama. Nothing too offensive, but it wouldn't feel right after his passing, so I changed everything and gave Goku a run, but the way I booked DENJI and Eren later this year at the event, I think I should have stuck with the idea, I even got an idea entrance for Kirito and it was him giving all of Goku's previous enemies a soft backhand bitch slap, knocking them all down and having kid portray as Vegeta in one. Even make Giran be afraid of Kirito, and have Kirito pose in the ring to let everyone else "eliminate" themselves from the Tournament of Power.
I had the perfect idea to work around it, and it would be called the "Kirito: God Killer" storyline where Kirito belittles Goku for not beating a real God like how he, Seiya and Tatsuya can beat Gods but he could never do it. But I couldn't even jump off the plane in order to go for it.
Imperial Crown
The Patterson Classic
I'm actually more glad I didn't do this match for the Festival since I'll always find this match to be more annoying or frustrating when it comes to writing it. I said it once, and I'll continue to say it more, this match is more frustrating and annoying to write than Final Warfare. And thankfully, I got to put it here rather than the usual Festival spot. And this would be doubled as a way to have a number one contender for the World Championship at the Festival, basically, ripping off the Royal Rumble-WrestleMania style, since it just works well.
Having Adora winning was a choice because here's the thing about this year's Festival match, I didn't have a full picture on who I should want to compete at Wembley, and I had options, picking out on who's who to become the challenger of such a belt. So it was really up in the air for the list of potential challengers. The remaining six with Adora; Charlie, Akko, Ruby, Ochaco, and Blake. They were my biggest options right now for the event, and looking down at the card with the Diamond Championship in the back of my mind, I believe Adora is the right call to make when it comes to choosing the winner.
The men's championship though? That's a different story.
The Men's World Championship/Patterson Classic Match
What both Byakuya and Joey said at the Face-Off where they had dreams about this event, it's true. Joey Wheeler was booked to win the PWA Men's World Championship against Eren Jaeger by using the Brooklyn Driver, the straight jacket piledriver, after the Brooklyn Bomb didn't work. I had thought Mamoru would end up helping Joey on winning the World Championship, but I wanted it to be a fair and square type of match.
As for Byakuya winning the Patterson Classic Match, which is also true. The Serenity Wheeler interaction back at Champion's Capital was the true start of the feud and with both of them winning the biggest matches of their careers.
But sadly, due to Toriyama passing, putting the World Championship on Goku was a top priority because it feels wrong on not having Goku being a World Champion, but I didn't want him to beat Eren Jaeger for it since it would work well with a storyline, so I had to come up with another way to put the World title on Goku while not beating Eren for it. So Mamoru stabbed Eren to send him to the hospital for the World Championship with the Champion's Rule of that every Champion had to defend their championship every event, which actually bit me on the ass for Dreamwork. The Patterson Classic is the match that can happen for the World Championship without Eren Jaeger in it. Granted, it cost me two great moments for the price of one, but it did work out in the end. Kind of.
The Diamond Championship
This was the second time that these four had been involved in a four way match, with Ruby winning of course, but this is where I had an interesting backstory because I originally was gonna postponed this match for a major more multi-women match featuring Harriet Bree, May Marigold, and I think it was Elm Ederne, but I could be wrong there, no, it was Nora Valkyrie was supposed to be involved. Yes, this was meant to be a Lucky Seven Match. Nothing too special, it's just a 7-pack challenge. It was meant to be all six of them going after Ruby for wronging her and nearly costing them all their jobs with Yang being the one to continue the feud with her sister at the Festival. Ruby would have still retained though, but it does fit the overall narrative of the one other match that I'm so glad that I get to write this year at Global Warfare. And the spot with Ruby using Taiyang's belt to beat Yang is always meant to be the main spark of the feud.
The Women's World Tag Team Championships
There's a moment in this match that I actually wanted to put the belts on Gwen and LeShawna, and let them go to the Festival with them, and seeing how things turn out, I should have. Because the Women's World Tag Team Championships has been playing hot potato ever since Deadman's Hand with three different teams winning them. This is the power of booking hindsight because after Dreamwork, I didn't have much to do with Gwen & LeShawna, so making her Champions here would've been much a better option. And afterwards, only Asuna and Bridgette seem to be carrying the feud till the Festival. Another title change was meant to happen,
The Men's World Tag Team Championships
I also was talking about a title change here for Seiya and Tatsuya beating Don Gracefield and Ogun Montgomery for the belts. To lead up the rematch between the team of Izuku Midoriya and Oscar Pine against Seiya Ryuguin and Tatsuya Shiba. It possibly was gonna be the 2-out-of-3 falls match, since both teams technically got a fall each onto each other. And it was supposed to be Izuku and Oscar to be crowned as Champions there instead at Dragon Star.
Another fact about this match is that I was trying to replicate the beatdown that Satoru Gojo gave to Miguel from Jujutsu Kaisen, hence why the blindfold. I even had the idea that it should be the match decider of having Seiya pinning Don after the beatdown, but it would be in poor taste, so I did the Bar fake tag cradle.
The Franchise Championship
This is the title change I was trying to reserve for the next event at Deadman's Hand, since I originally did have a plan of having Bow and Huey to compete at the Festival for the Franchise Championship instead of the standard match they had. Again, booking hindsight is a bitch, because the Declaration of War match would've been the place of it. And that concept was originally meant to be for the King & Queen Championship but I'll explain that more in the next event.
The King & Queen Championship
The first title change that has been planned since the beginning of the Arc. Ciel and Cecilia being mixed tag champions is such a delightful idea. And this is where the title change of the Franchise Championship has to happen here rather than Deadman's Hand, so Tanjiro can have a reason to assault ASTA, and getting ASTA tired out in a match against Ciel. I mean, come on, can you really imagine Ciel actually beating ASTA? Because I can't see it. Plus, the way that Ciel kept retaining after the event is another planned idea for the short run. I wasn't expecting to keep it expanded till then.
The Women's World Championship
This is one of my favorite matches I have written. It's the post match alone because like Asuna, I'm not used to having Asuna being without a Championship. Such an odd sight for me, but crowning Erza as the World Champion is the right call for me. Like last year when it was the tossup between Nobara, Asuna and Erza to be the World Champion till the Festival. This is something I ended up liking, and when I see the challengers for Asuna this year, Erza is the one to beat her for it.
Also, starting the mini feud between Erza Scarlet vs. the Bullet Kingdom storyline, which is the main story that has been going on. Yeah, because I originally wanted both Ninny and Noel to use their Golden Tickets for the World Tag Team Championships, but the more I thought about it, it would make an interesting feud for the World Champion, having to go against a mega heel group. A story that's as old as time.
Deadman's Hand
The Collision Course Matches
This is where the gimmick matches I had originally planned for, the Patterson Classic, Grand Star Tournament, and the Declaration of War matches were gonna play out like this; each gimmick event is meant to determine the challengers for the Festival itself. The PC for the World Championship match, the Grand Star Tournament is meant for the World Tag Team Championships, but I had always been trying to convinced myself on maybe switching around this and the DoW match for the prize, but the DoW match is better suited for the King & Queen Championships, so I had to come up a secondary Championship challengers for this event, but Toriyama passing had changed that for me, so I had to scrambled it around and make it that the winners of this match was gonna be challenging for the World Championships at Global Warfare instead.
But it's because I didn't have an overall plan for who's gonna compete at this year's Festival, it was really up in the air. I think Huey and Blake were gonna win it, but change it for Eren and Weiss. And due to my undecidedness on picking on who should be the challengers, this was hard to book on the long term. Actually, if I did switch the Championship prize, it would have been Owen and Rosemary, getting the King & Queen Championship instead.
The Diamond Championship
The double pinfall, truth be told, I actually did consider making Ruby dropping the belt to someone else before Global Warfare. And Luz would've been on one of the names that are top on the list as the new Diamond Champion. Frankly, I would have done so too but this is also a double edge sword when it comes to long term booking, when you had an idea you wanted to play out, you kind of need to sacrifice a few names for it to make it work. Like if you make a reign too short, it's just there as trivial, but if you make a reign too long then you'll end up losing attention for the picture, and it's the How you make the title reign work. Because in the words of Triple H; "it's not the title that makes the person, it's the person who makes the title". I didn't get it at first, but now, writing wrestling fanfics, I clearly understand that.
The Women's World Tag Team Championships
The hot potato for the belts begins here. Again, like I should have made Gwen & LeShawna as Champions, this would have been avoided entirely, but now, and yes, I was trying to find the right team to hold the belts till Komichi and Marin win them. And honestly, I didn't want to see Satsuki and Setsuna defending them against them, but it's funny how things tend to play out when you're a writer of a wrestling fanfic. I honestly did consider having Ninny and Noel retaining the belts but I wanted them to hold them till they're the next challengers for the World Championship to continue the Erza Scarlet vs. Bullet Kingdom feud. The next event didn't turn out how it would be, because it was never part of the plan.
The King & Queen Championships
Like I said, I wanted Ciel and Cecilia to have a comical title reign, and it was meant to be a three title defense at best then drop it on the fourth. After the Collision Course change, it has to be Owen and Rosemary. But it's the fun way of making Ciel come up with an excuse on why he couldn't make it to the title defense, my favorite one was at SMMR Stampede.
The Women's World Championship
Loona being the first challenger of Erza's reign, it was kind of a misstep since it would've been much easier to do the handicap first but I need to write Ninny and Noel to drop their belts first. But Loona was the first shot, and Ruby was the last shot, so it turned in this direction instead. So I worked with what I got, and I originally was gonna consider the thought of having Ninny and Noel pull double duty, but not until now, I didn't think about having a Substitution Rule with Loona covering for whoever got the World Championship match, that event. Would have saved me some matches, but maybe in the future I might do that.
The Araki Family
This is meant to be a headcanon retcon where I can have an excuse on coming up with Chibiusa to be much older, and introducing the public image child is just something that came out of nowhere, because I think I did had the actual Chibiusa to be in this position but it would be crossing a lot of lines, so I had to come up with an older Chibiusa, Yoko Tsukino. Speaking of which, I choose Yoko because it means "Crystal" and that sounds perfect as a daughter of Usagi & Mamoru, and the theme of the Silver Crystal too. And the full name would've been "Crystal of the Moon", but looking at Google Translation, I got a different word for it. It has been over half a year since I picked the headcanon name for Chibiusa. But I'm sticking with "Yoko" since it does have Crystal in its meaning, from Wikipedia. And having a wrestler going under as "Chibiusa" is quite stupid to hear, and the birth name wasn't helping either, "Usagi Small Child Serenity"?
Another fun fact about the Araki name, I chose the family name from the original Chibiusa voice actress. And as for the name of Kana Araki? I just picked it out of a hat I guess. And I was watching "Oshi no Ko" with a character named Kana, so the name kind of stuck on me.
The Men's World Tag Team Championships
At first, this one might be one of my biggest regrets on not pulling the trigger on Seiya and Tatsuya as tag champions. Like last year when it came to picking out who to have going up to the Festival as the Women's World Champion, I had this problem with PERFECTION, CENSORED, and the Demon Slayer Corps. But now seeing how Tanjiro kept the group going and doing the Exorcist-like gimmick did end up helping out in the end. I think I did wanted CENSORED to go up to Summer Stampede or Dreamwork, it was one of the two that were meant to be the dropping point, but I picked here to be it for the Demon Slayer Corps, and have the imagery of having Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu as champions together, for one night since this was the night where Bow was supposed to win the Franchise Championship.
The Men's Collision Course Match
Whitley running around the arena with the briefcase is actually something I ended up repeating, minus the briefcase, is something I tend to like. But also write a scene where we can prolong the eliminations and for both Eren and Mamoru to come back to the arena, since they were leaving the arena on the back of the Araki Family truck, which I took the inspiration from Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper in their Chicago Street Fight I believe it was. Only to come back at the end of the match, with a technical elimination that Eren pushed Mamoru through a table at the Harry Position. And when I had to rewrite the prize and stipulation of this match, Eren came to mind, so I can write Goku's final match together. Speaking of,
Goku's original World title run
He was meant to have a four way rematch with Ichigo, Naruto, and Luffy. And Saitama was originally meant to be one of the challengers, and it would've taken place maybe at Dragon Star but I couldn't figure it out. And I believe we would have a triple threat contest, featuring Son Goku representing the past, Izuku Midoriya representing the present, and finally Chihiro Rokuhira representing the future, at the Festival. Then it was turned back to Dragon Star but Izuku Midoriya is gonna be crowned as tag champion with Oscar that night, so I didn't know who to have. Until Eren Jaeger came to mind, and right there, I know how it's gonna go. So the plan was that Alejandro and Joey were meant to get their title opportunities at Summer Stampede in a triple threat match, instead of Beach Storm and Horror's Eve respectively. And Horror's Eve is the four way contest, Global Warfare is the Saitama, and Dragon Star was the triple threat match. And surprisingly, Izuku Midoriya was booked to win the World title there.
But it wouldn't be fair for Joey, and I want the Eren match to happen.
SMMR Stampede
This might be the last RWBY event I might give them, since I only wanted to write about this event in order to gain some recognition from the fandom. As I said it before, RWBY is mostly the series that driven me to make Pro Wrestling of Animation, and I owe a lot to the series for this, but each year whenever I came up for a RWBY event, I feel like it's not really worth it in the end. And I sacrificed a PWA event for this RWBY event. Because Beach Storm was originally meant for Summer Stampede, and I even word the event to match the "SMMR of RWBY" motif. Even the work-shoot promo in the end is basically me, and I truly do believe that RWBY fanfics are the lowest of the low when it comes to the pecking order of the fandom. After this event, I basically said to myself that this will be the last. And being a Native Canadian, I doubt anyone actually gives a shit about reading a story being written by one.
So I based this show around the series with some characters, so it wasn't my first RWBY event but fun fact, I originally did consider of doing a new wrestling fanfic but couldn't come up with the name, so it was between; "Vytal Championship Wrestling", or "Remnant Pro Wrestling". But there might be a problem there, I would have ended up retconned my own work in order to head back to the beginning. More with another idea later on.
The Vytal Festival Tournament
This is how much of a madman I was, because I was gonna do an all female round robin tournament, it would be a four women per block, eight blocks. And each winner will compete in a single elimination tournament for the Finals Four match. But as the month is going on, I didn't know who to have for the tournament and who would advance, but I do know that it would've been a Team RWBY finals. I believe the other Finalists were; Nebula Violette, Arslan Altan, Penny Polendina, & Cinder Fall. I could be wrong, but I do recall that it was the Diamond Championship it was gonna be for too, but I didn't had the will power to go through with it since I had finished Deadman's Hand, and I was trying to come up with a plan for Beach Storm, I think if I did a round robin tournament, it would've taken me a year to finish due to the amount of matches it would make me write.
The King & Queen Championship
The original challengers for these belts back-to-back are actually Team JNPR, Nora and Ren in Night 1, and Jaune and Pyrrha in Night 2. But it was the World Championship that I had a problem with since I couldn't come up with a good opponent for Goku to face.
Originally, it was Hazel but he's 8' tall and the tallest men I can think of are; Andre the Giant, Omos, the Great Khali, and the Big Show, and they're over 7' tall. And Hazel was way too tall for the match, and I did think of Qrow and Clover for the spot.
So I changed the challengers for Night 2 to be Yatsuhashi Daichi and Velveteen Rabbit, and with Daichi just being 7' tall, I got a lot of references to work with.
The Grand Star Tournament Matches
If there's a good thing about this event that they gave me an opportunity of giving me tag teams for the tournament, which I haven't spoken about yet, but I'll speak briefly here. The moment I made up about this event, I got a good excuse for bringing in some of the RWBY characters, especially Winter Schnee. I also can have tag teams to come in with an idea for Cardin Winchester and Ciel Soleil, because I could imagine it in the long run. Actually, I originally did want both Emerald and Ilia in that role instead of Neon and Ciel, but it was the Ciel idea alone that just outweighs Rainbow Quartz.
The World Tag Team Championships
I think I originally meant to make the Schnees winning the tag belts which I could've done so too, but I guess I wanted to surprise the title change to happen at Dreamwork, and to give Komichi and Marin a chance on why they should get a rematch in Horror's Eve.
As for the Men's? I believe I was gonna add another team, but kept it as a triple threat to limit myself for this match. But I had considered Sun and Neptune to be part of the PWA roster in the tag division, but the idea of Cardin and Ciel in it with an idea running in my mind, just makes sense to me.
The Women's World Championships
When I wrote the card down, I think I also originally did want Pyrrha in this match but I realised that it's Blake Belladonna who's booking it, I knew it has to be her and with the Jonathan Young & Caleb Hayles covers, I was exploded with ideas with this production idea. Blake in Night 2, just throwing the tantrum while continuing the feud with Charlie, who eliminated her from the Patterson Classic, I knew I had to commit to the storyline there. And it would be very funny to me that Erza, a Fairy Tail character, beats a fairy tale inspired character.
The Diamond Championship
After Pyrrha is out in the World title match, this is the third championship match I put her in. The second was the King & Queen Championship. And yes, I did think of the idea of having Pyrrha and Nora in the World Tag Team Championship match, and the Grand Star tag match, but I was working with a time limit. Pyrrha took over a spot of Nebula Violette, because she was originally in this match but I gave her the battle royal win with the Diamond Championship prize for Global Warfare, and there is a reason why I needed one more additional body for it. As for the match itself, I just fill it with RWBY regulars but one, who I personally just loved, Arslan Altain. And like Luz winning, Ruby has to come up with a sneaky way to win, and give me an excuse to bring in Arslan down the road.
Cinder Fall: AnimeFan
This is basically Jessica Nigri, but I think I also wanted Cinder to be in a tag team with Panty Anarchy to form "AnimeFan" as an adult faction group. And making Mai Tokiha to be in it, but I did hold onto the trigger and pull it away for now. And if I did, it wasn't the only time I thought of an adult faction. Actually, Crimvael was gonna lead an adult faction with Tanukichi Okuma from "Shimoneta", and Reito Mizuhara from "World's End Harem", but I didn't came up with the faction name two years ago, till this year and after my OnlyFans addiction. Plus, it would be pointless when you have Fairy Tail cast, and the Red-Headed Bombshells that could have filled that role perfectly, but I do consider it here and there.
Adam Taurus vs. Eren Jaeger
This is the dream match I had always wanted to write. And the music video package, it's just something that hit me the moment I came up with the card. I basically wrote the entire two nights just for Adam Taurus' match with Eren Jaeger, and Blake Belladonna freakout. And even the opening musical numbers, this just kept coming and coming in, I only did it for these events. And again, hopefully get some recognition from the RWBY fanbase.
Actually, the Adam's Gaston song, he never spoke once while Blake is singing about herself.
For the match itself, this is one of my favorite matches I have ever written. And since it was Texas and I had finished watching the Iron Claw, I gave Adam a new finisher, inspired by the Von Erichs, the Iron Claw being called as "Branded" to be a reference of Adam's branded eye in the show. This match is like a battle of victims, and who's trauma is pushing them more to go beyond.
Beach Storm
Like I said, everything that happens here is supposed to happen in the Summer Stampede before the reschedule. Even the Fanservice contest winners.
I was actually shooting in the dark when it comes to a female gaze fanservice, since unlike us men, we are quite simple in a fanservice episode. So it's quite difficult to do a women's gaze fanservice, and besides, this is a story about literal half-naked people wrestling, so how am I gonna do something for a women's fanservice? Just make it into a fashion show or something like that, just don't expect something like this for next year, and without a woman perspective, I'm just shooting in the dark here.
The Diamond Championship
The Shonen Seven. I was disappointed that I couldn't do this two years ago when there were eight in the Collision Course match where there was Ninny Spangcole involved and Weiss instead of Ruby. These eight series represent the female empowerment of the Shonen Jump brand.
I actually did want to do this with the Diamond Championship featuring other women, which we saw Charlie do in a 10-Pack Challenge. I think I might have botched the ending here where Ruby could've pinned Ochaco while Noelle is making Jolyne tapping out, but I didn't know if the referee could have seen it or a replay occurs but it was another sneaky way Ruby could have retained it at someone else's expense. Plus with Nobara and Emma in this match, I can have both Ninny and Noel interfere on Ruby's behalf, but looking back, that's another botch writing I had forgotten to do.
The Women's World Championship
I must have watched the Iconics vs. Asuka vs. Nikki Cross for the NXT Women's Championship so much, because I was only focused on the Iconics vs. Asuka parts, because I've been trying to replicate it in PWA fashion. But I had enjoyed the part of still continuing on making Erza fight the Bullet Kingdom, and it's pretty much in Fairy Tail fashion that whoever threatens the Fairy Tail Guild will face a one-sided consequences. And it's Erza Scarlet. She's like the John Cena, the Roman Reigns, the Hulk Hogan of anime where you can't beat her fairly.
Seeing Erza being the only Fairy Tail character that is the Babyface while Lucy Heartfilia, and the Fairy Dragons (Natsu Dragneel, Laxus Dreyar & Gajeel Redfox) being Heels is quite funny to me.
The King & Queen Championship
This one is where I was at the most difficult part for the remainder of the year, because originally, Owen & Rosemary were gonna take it at the Festival. Then I changed it around to let Owen & Rosemary drop the belts right before the Festival. Throughout the run of Owen & Rosemary, Rosemary would try to get her team to lose the match but is provoked to compete and somehow ended up winning with Owen till either the Festival or Global Warfare. I think it was the four way elimination match that I ended up having at the Festival, but I didn't know who the other two challengers were. Regardless, that's the dropping point to Marinette & Adrien for the belts, they were always meant to be the King & Queen Champions by the end of the Arc.
Now here were the two ideas that came to mind when I wanted to drop the belts on whoever before the Festival. It was Rosemary turning on Owen and would have started a hotshot feud between him against either Nagito Komaeda or Yumoto Hakone. If it was with Nagito, then afterwards, they would have joined the ARC/WAR faction with the belts. If it was against Yumoto, it would've been an onscreen relationship between the two. Those were the two alternative plans for Owen and Rosemary, but since I had added Cardin into the Victorian Empire, and started this little feud of Owen vs. Ciel Phantomhive, it would end up with them at the Festival in some fashion. Leaving Rosemary in the dust though.
As for having the Kirigayas being the champions was actually the only top choice I can think of, since after I could just give Owen & Rosemary a quick payoff and drop the belts. I actually did consider having Bridgette getting involved by costing the match for Asuna while Rosemary gets the pinfall win. Yes, both Owen and Rosemary were planning on winning the match, but I guess I had cold feet on this booking choice.
The Franchise Championship
Speaking of Owen vs. Ciel feud, I ended up loving the idea of Porco Galliard and Junichiro Kubota against each other. So I ended up bringing them into the match in that tag match at the Festival.
Here's another dropping point and I almost committed to it, that it was Byakuya Togami was gonna win the belt here and carry it to the Festival since the plan was Wheeler vs. Togami at the Festival. I didn't go with it, since I could use another singles contest for the Festival in Night 2, because I would normally put the main matches idea on paper and see how we can get there before the undercard, which normally happens around halfway of the year. And it would have been Byakuya retaining the Championship till the Festival against Joey, but I didn't want that since I made Byakuya this character who had been screwed over and wants nothing but the World Championship. So Whitley in this match was just a stand-in for Byakuya. It would've been Andrew.
The Men's World Championship
Besides the Dragon Star match, this is the only time, as champion, that Goku gets to main event a PWA event. I continue the idea for Goku that he is this Underdog Champion, even knowing that it's Son Goku himself. Alejandro is such a mixed bag for me when it comes to booking, after was scheduled to win the Patterson Classic in Road 2 Gold, things never turned out well for him. I actually had big hopes for him on becoming the big heel player, but now I'm hoping for big things for the next Arc, if I can plan it right though.
Dreamwork
The traditional tag team exclusive event, still a pain to write but some of my favorite matches have always been tag team. And this year is meant to be my redemption for the God awful tag team tournament that the women's division had to go through, since that is still my biggest botch job writing of a tournament. I'm still haunted by the tournament, and I had considered doing an All In Tournament.
Actually, like last year, this was meant to be happening before the Festival itself but I didn't want to drag the tournament all year long like the World Championship Tournament Arc.
I'll explain the All In Tournament later on at the Dragon Star section.
The Grand Star Tournament
I want to keep a tag tournament around halfway of the year. I wasn't up for an All-In Tournament, but I didn't want to do like a traditional single bracket tournament, so I was looking around wrestling for a tournament idea till I remembered the ludacris tournament idea that I still remember to this day. The TNA Deuces Wild Tag Team Tournament.
The concept of the tournament itself is simple; there's eight established tag teams against a pair of Joker's Wild tag teams, but I didn't want to straight up do that. So my version of the tournament itself is that we're gonna have the Joker's Wild Rule but it's with a qualification round, same as the tag team side.
The Semi Finals being a 4-Way Elimination match is something for me to use, while the Finals will be a traditional tag team match.
I also believe I wanted to do the ROH Tag Wars Tournament, since I just loved multi-team matches. And I guess the Semi Finals are basically that, at least the 2019 version.
Eight Tag Team Matches, and 16 Singles Matches for the Joker's Wild.
The Joker's Wild side was meant to be my way of finding new tag teams for the next arc. One of them was going to be Harriet Bree & Jolyne Cujoh, and it was here that I thought about having different winners here. Instead of Gwen & LeShawna, I toyed with the idea of having Harriet and Jolyne winning it and going against Satsuki and Setsuna for the World Tag Team Championships.
I even toy with the idea of having Junko & Lucy winning the Joker's Wild Side, but not the tournament itself.
I even thought of the idea of having Sonia and Akemi being the potential challengers and I didn't know who would be in the King & Queen Championship matches, so it was up in the air with Sonia potentially joining the Global Economy since she's also a rich girl character. Another potential pairing was with Cecilia Alcott, but that didn't work out for me.
Speaking of Cecilia, before the SMMR of RWBY, it was meant to be Weiss and Cecilia to be a tag team. And even winning the tournament itself.
Another team, which turns out to be true in the end, was Suletta Mercury & Tomo Aizawa being a tag team in the Joker's Wild side, but it didn't work out due to the Diamond Championship which I'll get to later on. But I hesitated on Tomo, and before Junichiro and Porco came to mind, I actually had Tomo & Junichiro being potential challengers for the King & Queen Championship.
The Tag Team Side was easy to pick out, and Gwen & LeShawna were the top of the list of winning, after Gwen performances in both Championship matches. Another team, which I should have done better, had Marin and Komichi winning this tournament, but I botched it. Simply said.
I never had any other teams winning this tournament, because it was either Gwen & LeShawna, or one of the potential Joker Wild's teams.
As for the Men's bracket? That's a different story.
To start with the Joker's Wild side, there wasn't much of a team that was gonna win. Armin and Karma making it to the Finals have always been the planned spot. One time, it was Adrien and Hunter but I couldn't see it afterwards, so I stuck with Karma and Armin.
As for the tag team side, there were three ways that could've gone.
Izuku & Oscar were the top choice to win it, and that was the main goal till I look ahead to see how we will get there. And as I was looking at the road, it didn't sit well for me because it would be Heel vs. Heel with a title change, and I already did that with the Bullet Kingdom & the Victorian Empire. So I switched the winners to have Lux Bonteri & Gino Weinberg as the winners while Deku & Ossy will be crowned as Champions.
The third choice, after Lux & Gino, was Kouchi & Ritsuka winning the tournament because the title matches in Dreamwork inspired me to have second thoughts of the results.
I might give this tournament another try next year, maybe.
The Champion's Rule: The Men's World/Franchise Championships
This is where that damn Champion's Rule bit me on the ass, because the moment I chose that way of getting the belt off of Eren Jaeger, I had to follow it with this event. An event that's exclusive to the tag team division. Last year was Champions vs. Champions with only the Tag Team Championships were on the line, but this year? I had to come up with a unique way to honor that Champion's Rule.
So having Goku and Bow defending their belts together but with the one rule that seems fitting for the Workhorse Belt, because the World Championships are always exclusive while the secondary belts are meant to be the workhorses, so anyone can gain the pinfall to win that belt. And if you want to become the World Champion, then you have to pin the World Champion in order to win that belt specifically.
The challengers were the problem at first till I realized that I can have Togami in it. Then I can have Huey in it in order to face off against Bow. Tanjiro and DENJI can also be excused for being in this match, and continue this exorcism storyline. And for the singles match against your partner, I made that up about a couple days before I finished it. I say that part works out for me.
The Dreamwork Match
Basically my Survivor Series Match, but unlike the Men's championship matches that have to go under the Champion's Rule, the Diamond Championship was quite easy after I came up with the card. The challengers were at first, but since Team RWBY isn't around so the Red-Headed Bombshells can get back together. And I wanted Tomo Aizawa to be in the Diamond Championship picture. Actually, before we get to Global Warfare, Tomo was actually gonna enter the Festival as the Diamond Champion, even beating Ruby for it. If there was a person to beat Ruby for the title, it would've been Tomo, hence why the double shoulders pinfall.
This would be a great way to re-establish the Red-Headed Bombshells. To much so, I even considered the idea of changing the Final Warfare Match for the Bullet Kingdom vs. the Red-Headed Bombshells, even thought of the idea of the Winner Takes All version of it with Bullet Kingdom holding the World Tag Team Championships vs. the World & Diamond Championships of Erza & Tomo, but we were halfway of the year, I made up my mind on the Tag Team title scene, so I had to press forward with this Diamond Championship run till Global Warfare.
Actually, there was another idea that predates the Dreamwork Match itself.
The Double Jeopardy Match
The match itself was going to be for the World & Diamond Championship with seven other challengers, three other teams. Same goes with the Men's Championship, and it was under the Champion's Rule. But I couldn't make it work since I was gonna do the Tornado Tag Rule, but that didn't work and I put it in the Men's version.
So I changed it with Erza and Tomo, against some random team. I can't remember who it was at first, but it might've been Ninny & Noel again. Then I turned it to Cecilia and Gina, and then that's where it hit me for the World Championship match, and I recall I heard the phrase and watched ECW November to Remember review from Wrestling With Wregret. And I said to myself, "I don't like how it was executed, but I would love to use it for this match." And that's how this match turned out to be.
The idea of Cecilia was to pinned the World Champion to win that belt, while the Schnees had to pinned one of the World Tag Team Champions to win those belts. The rule of having a pinfall win over someone who isn't your Championship priority won't result in a title change was something I wrote on the last spot.
After this event, Erza Scarlet had beaten the Victorian Empire to retain, in Fairy Tail fashion.
Horror's Eve
I wanted to try the "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" & "Raw Roulette" concept, and this might be a one year thing since I've been trying to come up with a few gimmick matches that aren't a Pole match. And I would have done it like a traditional Ladder Match, or Table Match, but the Collision Course can fill those roles, since you can't have a ladder match without a table spot.
The other matches that came to mind, and this was my Ruthless Aggression Era mindset came to mind, "Bra & Panties" Match, but I didn't want to demean the women for that match.
At one point, it would've been two men competing in the match. That reminds me, here's another idea I had for Summer Stampede, it's a speedos or beach wear battle royal. Honestly, but again, I was shooting in the dark for that woman's gaze of fanservice.
I did consider the Blindfold Match, or the "Prince of Darkness" Match, but writing blindfold matches would be something else. And there would be a lot of stalling for time when you do write it down.
I could have brought back the Dungeon Rules Match which I did back at the first Summer Stampede, but I botched it so hard the first time, I didn't want to do it again. Years have passed ever since then, so I think I can bring it back for something, since it's a ropeless match without turnbuckle. And just make it as a simple knockout or submission match, and redub it as "the Dungeon Match", which is also named after the legendary Hart Family Dungeon where they can make shoot style into a work.
The Ambulance Match was a high consideration, and I believe it was gonna be Erza vs. Mikasa for the World Championship before the Texas Bullrope Match
The Buried Alive Match, and the Casket Match were out of the question since those might cause mentally stress of such matches, and I think the closest thing I could have done with the Casket Match was the Dumpster Match, which I almost actually did.
Another match that is out of the question is the Inferno Match, because I wouldn't know how to do that match without doing a ring setup prior. Maybe as the opening contest since both SummerSlam's Ring of Fire, and Armageddon's Inferno Matches were the opening contests to their shows. So it is out of the question, but it was highly considered as a match option.
A Flag Match was kind of stupid for me, because I wouldn't know what to put on as a flag? And even if it was, it would've been the Victorian Empire gimmick match since they're the extreme nationalists and an extreme right wing faction.
I didn't want to do the Deathmatches, since they were being saved for the Festival, both the Texas and the Exploding Barbed Wire matches. But thankfully, the Street Fight, Last Person Standing, Falls Count Anywhere, and Outlaw Rules can fill the hardcore variant matches.
Before I talk about the matches themselves, I think I chose the Lucha-de Apuestas because I did have an idea of the match itself, and I believe it must've been the Men's Tag Team Championship match where it would've been literally gold vs. gold, with the World Tag Team Championships vs. Gold Coins.
And another thing about this event, the reason I didn't do the 2-Nights formula for Horror's Eve, is because I didn't want to do every match with a stipulation without having at least maybe 16 or 18 match stipulations to stimulate my mind for each match setup. Now onto the show.
The Women's World Tag Team Championships
The Dumpster Match was one of the matches I would have put it here, because the idea of millionaire princesses against literal perfect characters was too good to pass.
And I believe the Luchas-de Apuestas was part of the option, since besides the belts, it would've been money too. If the Schnees were the challengers, but they're the Champions and both Komichi and Marin can't offer anything up for the Sisters for this match to happen.
Regardless what happens, Cecilia and the Victorian Empire were the ones to cost the sisters to lose their belts. And last time for this arc, the game of hot potato ended.
The Men's World Tag Team Championships
Besides Luchas-de Apuestas, I did consider this match to be the ladder match if I didn't do the Collision Course Match. And the finish would've been Alejandro smashing the prop lute onto Miguel or Tulio, to prevent them from winning the belts. And this would've been a performance highlight for Miguel and Tulio since I always loved these two characters from the Road to El Dorado, and wanted them to be a comedy act duo, but I didn't do much with them. So hopefully next year is something I can do more with the duo with Chel.
The reason for the change? I got lazy and didn't want to do a full out tag match, but why I chose the battle royal is beyond me, because those are far more frustrating and annoying to write. I didn't know why I changed it till I realized that I wanted to do the DSC vs. Deku & Ossy at Dragon Star, and I needed eight other teams, and next month, I didn't know who to have them defend against. So I went back to basics of having the Champions tying with Oscar and Izuku here with a double elimination, and double pinfall in Global Warfare, hence, hyping up the match for Dragon Star.
The Franchise Championship
I was mostly inspired, again, by Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose match, but this time, I wanted to take this quite literally by having them continue this match from Horror's Eve to Global Warfare. And I loved recreating the Texas Chainsaw Massacre ending scene with DENJI as Leatherface. I think at one point, the match was gonna be a street fight, but I didn't know if the rules would still be applied when I took this match from here to Global Warfare.
I just remembered another stipulation that was planned for this year's Festival, which didn't happen but nixed into the Jackpot match. And part of the HalloWheel, the Censor Bar Brawl. These two would've just fought in the bar, actually, the spot where DENJI tosses Tanjiro onto the bar shelf, that was the finish of the match. But the idea of taking the Falls Count Anywhere Match too literally is quite funny to me, since I would have just enjoyed the stupid ideas like that. Just once.
The World Championships
I knew these two matches I had to add some extra spice to them, but I didn't know what to pick out for the Men's World Championship, but the Women's World Championship was the one that has the Iron Will Match.
I realized that we were in Texas for this event, and I wanted to redo a Bullrope Match, so I gave the Men's World Championship match the Iron Will Match, while both Erza and Mikasa will compete in a Texas Bullrope Match, and luckily for me, I got to use Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo match as references for some ideas I had for their match.
I believe I did a Last Person Standing Match for Goku vs. Joey, but I didn't want this to be a violent contest, and thank goodness for the Bullrope Match, because I was just gonna do the Lumberjack match before choosing the Iron Will Match. Also for Goku, this is the first out of two losses he managed to avenge, since both Joey and Kirito actually pinned Goku back in the World Championship Tournament Arc.
The King & Queen Championship
These two were the actual Challengers for the belts if it was a two-night event, but since I did it under one, so both teams will challenge them. I believe the Collision Course was the second choice, while I believe it was gonna be an elimination match, but I wanted to toy with the idea of a tag team Collision Course Match, and how would I do a mixed tag team match, so I basically treated this match as two triple threat matches. Something that ECW Double Jeopardy match did, but nothing as silly as that since it's a glorified four way dance, and this has a tag team championship ramification. It was a challenge, but it turns out well I guess.
The Diamond Championship
I wanted to try to do the following matches; WWE Hardcore Battle Royal; WWE Championship Scramble; and the NXT Iron Survivor Matches, but I was only focused on the first two concepts, and I wanted to add the DQ rule for the title holder, to make it more challenging. I might end up dropping that rule in the next arc. But I am keeping the rule where the pinfalls and submissions must happen in the ring.
Originally, this match was gonna involve the Bullet Kingdom, and I believe at one point, it was gonna be the BK vs. Korra vs. Mikasa Ackermann. Beach Storm and Dreamwork makes it a bit more complicated for me, so I have to come up with new challenges for Ruby to defend the belts against. But I also did want a faction to get involved, and I see that the ARC; Catra, Maya, Maka, & Snapdragon literally cover half the amount of challengers, the additional four I needed to find. Then May Marigold, Lucy Heartfilia, & Junko Enoshima got involved, and finally, one of my favorite characters, Crimvael, and immediately, I knew who to pick to get screwed over in order to increase the Final Warfare Match.
This match was honestly quite difficult to write, when you see the Festival matches, they're quite much to deal with, and perhaps I should cut it down to a certain number. Not all matches can be instant hits, you just gotta find the right formula in order to make it work.
The Steel Cage Fight
I for the longest time, didn't know what match stipulation this would've been under as. It could be the Street Fight, Outlaw Rules, or even the Last Person Standing Match, but none of them didn't click to me because I basically did those kinds of matches back at the Attack on Titan event, "Fight For Freedom". So I wanted this to be different, as the next event is gonna be the Final Warfare Match. I actually did wonder if I could do a steel cage match without it being an actual traditional wrestling cage match, until I remembered a certain match in NXT that got me hooked. The Fight Pit. And I ended up watching both Timothy Thatcher vs. Ciampa & Riddle, and study them for a bit to get references. I ended up using a spot here that was planned for the Final Warfare Match, but I changed the plans and put it here. And this is the second loss that Eren avenged, since he lost to both Izuku and Armin in the Beginning Arc.
Now time to head off to Global Warfare, the original Semi-Finale event.
Global Warfare
First of all, this event has four of my favorite matches I have ever written; the two Final Warfare Matches, the Men's World Tag Team Championships, and the Women's World Championship. These four were the best things I had ever written and they pushed me through to write Dragon Star within the week.
Just like Deadman's Hand 2, this is one of the shows that just gave me the kick in the pants, and the motivated slap to push through it. Unlike the Patterson Classic where I felt dread and annoyed, and frustrated by the way I wrote it that I couldn't be proud of it, but Final Warfare, the dread and mental agony I went through to put in the details of these matches is so magical, and by the time I had finished them, I look back at the beginning and said, "I did well, and these two are my proudest achievements as a wrestling writer."
The Declaration of War Match
As you can tell from the opening contest, there were no attire descriptions for these DoW matches, because I didn't feel like it. I was more focused on the Final Warfare Matches, and putting all my mental state towards those matches, because I know that the Final Warfare Match is gonna take the most out of me when I wrote these matches. And these matches are a pain to me, and thank all things that are Holy & Scientific up there that I didn't do a Patterson Classic for the Festival, because 4 battle royals in a row? That's way too much for my liking. But unlike the tag team battle royal, and the Shonen Jump battle royal, this one is actually something I had been proud of since I started PWA. And it's always tradition for the past 4 fours that the Declaration of War Match is always the opening contest.
This year's original plan for this match was that there wasn't gonna be a traditional singles match for the winner. Why? Because when I started out the year, I originally did plan the idea of going back to 2 Nights for the Festival, and both King & Queen Championship will defend their belts in both nights, and what has 2 winners that can also be unpredictable? The Declaration of War matches since there's 2 rings with different winners, and the catch here is that whoever wins in Ring 1 is a team and will compete in Night 1 of the Festival for the belts, and Ring 2 does the same. Then I went with the 3 Night system. I changed my mind on the prize of having, "okay, then the winners of the Declaration of War Match will challenge for the belts at Wembley". As I mentioned before, I even considered switching the prizes around this and the Collision Course Match, since they're basically the same when it comes to winning their matches.
Since Toriyama passed away, I had to switch everything around to see how I can work with the amount of changes. And at first, it didn't bother me since Global Warfare was at the near-end of the year, but I realized that I need a placement for Dragon Star, and I put it between this and the Festival, I screwed myself over. And since I didn't know who I wanted to be the challengers for the King & Queen Champions at Wembley, I was so undecided on who I wanted as the Challengers, and went straight to the multi-team match, and luckily for me, there are three bookers; Armin, Usagi, and Goku, and they can pick out whoever they want.
As for Goku, who didn't have a challenger here, I picked this match to continue his retirement tour. I couldn't find a good challenger for him due to that almost everyone I considered as big had a match that night till I remember that he can get his win back against Kirito in the final two.
The King & Queen Championship
Speaking of Kirito, I believe I had Kirito and Asuna defending the belts for both nights then dropping the belts to Adrian and Marinette, but I didn't have a good opponent for Goku to face off against in the final two, I had to schedule the dropping point a night earlier.
At one point, perhaps earlier this year during the "SMMR of RWBY" event, I think I had Adam Taurus and Winter Schnee as the challengers, and even winning it. But I scraped the idea since one, Adam has been out for months since the SMMR of RWBY, and 2, Winter has been playing second fiddle to Weiss.
As for Marinette and Adrian first challengers, my options were very limited, so Seiya and Ristarte would be a good starting point.
I even planned the idea of having Bow, the Franchise Champion at the time and under the dropping point stage, to be booked here and drop the belt to DENJI in that Declaration of War Match since it was originally scheduled to be DENJI vs. Tanjiro at the Festival with that belt.
The Franchise Championship
And speaking of the Franchise Championship and DENJI, I went with the DQ finish, so I can have an excuse on having Natsu and Asta in the Festival, and since technically, his match with Tanjiro had been rule out as a draw, DENJI didn't have a successful defense till Dragon Star.
The Women's World Championship
When I booked Weiss to win the Collision Course Match, it's because I wanted to see how I can make this match, and surely enough, I ended up loving it. At one point, it was actually Asuna was supposed to be the challenger here, and having Weiss winning the briefcase the same way she would have ended up winning the Diamond Championship if things went according to plan.
I tend to forget what I can write at times, but having both Erza and Weiss winning Collision Course Matches, with the first one together, they were the last two back at the Third Act. I didn't expect much from this match, because I was so focused on the Final Warfare Match, it caught me off guard. So much, I even considered making this a dropping point for the World Championship, and having Weiss vs. Adora at the Festival, but I need to continue on going to the path I wrote for the World Championship. So there was no title change here, but the finish of the match said it all.
The Diamond Championship: Final Warfare
I had been waiting to do this variation of the Final Warfare Match, so much, it was planned after Road 2 Gold with Eren Jaeger defending the World Championship in it.
I had it all plan out, it would've been; Eren Jaeger vs. Naofumi Iwatani vs. Huey Freeman vs. Bow vs. Crimvael vs. Byakuya Togami vs. Nagito Komaeda vs. Alejandro Burromuerto. That was the original plan for this Final Warfare Match, but it didn't happen. So this variation laid to rest for over two years, until now.
When I was looking at the calendar and schedule, I counted the number of challengers for Ruby's eighth title defense, and this was before Dreamwork and SMMR of RWBY events, I counted eight, but I didn't even bother it till I started writing Champion's Capital. I was trying to make Ruby a cowardly heel, hiding behind Loona, Ninny and Noel. Then it was during Broken Eclipse with the disqualification win, I didn't know if Ruby would have to face Charlie again, and it would've been pointless, till I remember a certain title reign while growing up as a wrestling fan. It was the JBL WWE Championship run in 2004, where he kept finding a way to cheat his way to win each match to keep his belt. And right then and there, it hit me right there, I can do the Final Warfare Match with the Diamond Championship.
Each screwy finish from the Diamond Championship is leading up to this match;
-The quick easy win on Nagisa.
-The disqualification win against Charlie.
-The Diamond Championship struck onto Yang for the cheap win.
-The double pinfalls with Luz, Arslan, and Tomo, keeping the belt by a draw.
-And the technicality won over Noelle who had Jolyne tapping out on the third count, alongside with Loona pulling Crimvael off during the third count which could have resulted in the DQ win for Crimvael.
-As for Nebula, who was screwed out of her Diamond Championship opportunity that she would have gotten back at SMMR Stampede, and hence why I had her winning that battle royal where she can get involved with the match, and I also like her too.
So each participant here got a legitimate reason why they have a claim for the Diamond Championship and against Ruby.
Another match I was inspired to write about, mostly the promo which I was actually gonna use for this match, was the WWE Survivor Series, Elimination Chamber Match. The song "Always" from Saliva, I was gonna use the actual promo to write about all of the participants in it.
There were months that I actually did have cold feet and wanted to drop the belt to someone else, and it was most likely to be Tomo Aizawa, but I kept going and saw if I could actually pull it off.
Adding the elimination rule was actually based on another match, from Ring of Honor's Steel Cage Warfare. And didn't want to do the one fall match.
This might be the only time we ever gonna get this kind of match for a Championship. A second time might be the World Tag Team Championship which was the triple trios match that was also one of the plans last year, and also in the women's division but couldn't make it happen. And this is gonna be such a great opportunity to have a match in this environment, and hope you all enjoyed it.
The Men's Final Warfare Match
Speaking of matches I did want to try, I gave the original WarGames rules a try for this year. I basically did Steel Cage Warfare for the Women's Division. It seemed only fair to try the original WarGames for this year because I had been doing the modern WWE version.
I wanted to talk about the "war room" that both Armin and Karma did last event in Horror's Eve. It's actually based on the WWE first Draft Lottery with both Vince McMahon and Ric Flair making their draft picks. Picking out the teams was kind of easy, but this was my main problem, and this goes back to Goku. I picked out the best candidates for a match against him, and I was stuck on the booking decision, hence I changed the Kirito booking here.
Eren vs. Goku was originally meant to be on the card when I picked out the challengers. Everything that Goku vs. Eren would have done at Dragon Star was actually placed here, but the two rings made it difficult to focus and the ending was different with Mamoru costing Goku the win.
But this is the only time I can think about having Eren in Final Warfare, and the planned spot that was supposed to be here but instead placed in Horror's Eve. The hangman's bulldog choked on Armin. And unlike the official match, that was the ending of this year's Final Warfare Match. With ladder assisted, Armin was sitting on the top of the ladder and in an open cage spot, Eren was choking Armin out till he had to submit.
Another fact about the match is that both Karma and Armin were meant to compete in this match in order to have that ending, but due to the rule that whoever gets the win will be given the World Championship match at the Festival ended up writing them out of the match.
Another idea is that Goku could've been involved in this match, which seems odd on not having him in this kind of match. But if so, I would have made this match for the World Championship, but I already have a singles title in Final Warfare, so I wanted to keep it traditional here, and it wouldn't be the same if Eren was the challenger.
I think if I kept Armin and Karma in the match with that Championship opportunity rule? It would've been Byakuya making the cover onto Armin, and even after the rule has been placed, Byakuya has to be the one who gets the shot. If I kept the Eren vs. Goku match for this event, then the backup plan for the Togami vs. Wheeler match at the Festival would've been Wheeler winning a battle royal for the vacant belt at Dragon Star, and then drop it to Togami at the Festival.
The second plan was Mamoru getting the win here, and Eren winning the belt at Dragon Star.
The third plan, Eren pulls double duty, but the way his match turned out, I doubt he would've made it.
Dragon Star
The original All In Tournament
The All In Tournament arc was also a plan idea, since again, it's for my love of RWBY with the Vytal Festival rules, and maybe do a Trios Team Round as the Semifinals. But obviously I didn't do it, and I did want to bring it back for the Dragon Star but didn't do it. The idea of the All In Tournament for Dragon Star that it was gonna be Universal Survival Rules where it's gonna be from characters from their own universe. But I believe it was gonna be a women's bracket. I had doubts about it since it's Shonen Jump and I would be limited.
And speaking of limits, this was gonna be a two nighter too, but unlike how PWA operates, Night 1 would've been dedicated to the All In Tournament, and it would've been at Korakuen Hall while Night 2 would've been at the Tokyo Dome. And I believe the bracket was gonna be Black Clover vs. My Hero Academia Finals, for both most likely.
The first round matches would've been the Single Matches, the second round is the Tag Team Matches, and the Semifinals are gonna be Trios, and the Finals taking place at the Tokyo Dome event as a full on Quartet Match that's also the Dreamwork Match.
Women's Korakuen Hall Night
Keeping it in Korakuen Hall, keeping with the PWA Goku ideology of that female characters aren't much of a sell, Night 1 would've been women Jump characters competing in a smaller arena, and the only Women's World Championship gets to be in the main show.
The Men's World Tag Team Championships
Actually, the Festival tag team Collision Course Match wasn't the first tag team Collision Course Match that would've happened in PWA. The original one was a 6 Tag Team Collision Course Match for the Men's World Tag Team Championships with Inosuke & Zenitsu defending the belts against; Yuji Itadori & Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen; Katsuki Bakugo & Shoto Todoroki from My Hero Academia; Ray & Norman from the Promised Neverland; Jaune Arc & Lie Ren from RWBY; and Roronoa Zoro & Vinsmoke Sanji from One Piece, truth be told, I don't actually remember the last tag team but I do recall they got involved somehow.
As for the official match, I'll be honest, I think the Global Warfare Match might be the better one here. I wrote the best I can for this match. And the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match is quite difficult. And doing the traditional Face-Heel dynamic of these kinds of matches of having the Heels getting ahead.
Speaking of Izuku and Oscar, when I made this match, I instantly knew what theme they would have. It was Yu-Gi-Oh based, and I knew which ones I would have based it off, and this theme was supposed to be carried on to the Festival with their Cards choice on their attires. Izuku in Obelisk Blue, Oscar in Ra Yellow, and Atsuko in Slifer Red uniforms. And their cards design for their Festival attires would've been; Elemental Heroes for Izuku, the Witchcrafters for Atsuko, and… I didn't know which fusion deck I would've done for Oscar, then I recall calling him as the Yugi Mutoh of the RWBY series, so it would've been one of the Dark Magician Fusion, but I did wanted him to have the either Gusto or Naturia Decks, it was either the forest green theme of the Gustos, or the gardener theme of the Naturia cards.
When I came up with this match, I knew it had to be Deku & Ossy's turn to become Champions, but also this match alone had to be where I changed the winners for the Grand Star Tournament. Due to the fact that it would've been an all Heel title changed somewhere around these past two events if it was Global Economy.
For two years now, whenever I introduced the World Tag Team Championship, Deku & Ossy were always meant to be the first Champions, even having the date for their dropping point at last year's Global Warfare in the Final Warfare Match. And I feel so relieved about making them the Tag Team Champions.
The King & Queen Championships
This match for the belts was gonna be a four way elimination match, but I kept it down to a simple two-on-two match. The original challengers; Kafka Hibino & Mina Ashiro, and the Forgers. I think it might've been another team but I couldn't remember it at the top of my mind right now.
The Women's World Tag Team Championships
I believe the Women's Tag Team match was the closest to keeping their original match in the official card. But this card is over bloated with multi-person matches, so I had to clip so many wings here. Back to the basics where it could be traditional one-on-one or two-on-two matches.
The Women's World Championship
It would've Nobara Kugisaki vs. Erza Scarlet for it, but I forgot about Ruby Rose who also got the win at the Festival. But throughout the reign and Ruby as the Diamond Champion, I didn't know where to give her that title shot till this event, and she does count as a Shonen Jump character due to the manga release.
I believe I originally put it at Horror's Eve, and the Jackpot Match didn't happen since it was a glorified 4-on-2 handicap match, and Loona, Ninny & Noel were gonna do most of the match and Ruby gets the pinfall win, while she and Erza would had the match in the end. Actually, that Diamond Championship match was the show opener.
If I'm being honest about this match, this might be the worst match I have ever written. The other matches were good and all, but when you expected something big out of it, and seeing the differences from what you have in mind and what you put in paper. Seeing nothing like what I can picture it. I had a rough time writing this one, because nothing clicked in this match.
I always had the idea of dropping the Diamond Championship to Tomo Aizawa earlier in order to make this match happen, and the Final Warfare of the Bullet Kingdom vs. the Red-Headed Bombshells would've climaxed here in this match between two leaders of the groups.
The Franchise Championship
One point, early on when I came up with the booking of the year, I had Monkey D. Luffy became the Franchise Champion back at Horror's Eve, defending it successfully at Global Warfare, and going for the Big Three Triple Threat Match for the belt, but that didn't manifest and didn't get passed the early booking plan. Even the idea of Monkey D. Luffy was gonna get a near year title reign with it.
So I ended up having the Big Three Match booked in this event after Toriyama passed, like instantly and immediately, it was put on pen and paper. Luffy was gonna win the match here too, since he's the King of Shonen Jump.
DENJI as Franchise Champion, didn't have it in my books at first but I think I was trying to get that originally planned match between DENJI vs. Nagito Komaeda for the Festival, and I think I wanted Nagito at one point being the Franchise Champion for DENJI to beat, or vice versa. It wasn't when I realized that Tanjiro and the DSC had basically declared war on every demon in PWA, and DENJI had to be involved. I couldn't find a way on getting everyone else involved, and it possibly would've been better is Tanjiro was the Franchise Champion, but I need him to drop the belt and win it back for the restart of the Pressure Rule in order to have the perfect amount of challengers for the Festival.
But as for DENJI as Champion instead? Let's say I was looking beyond the Festival on him being Champion.
The Shonen Death Machine
I had a different vision of the Shonen Death Machine where they were meant to be a dark philosophical faction where they're like a mixture of Sanity with the Wyatt-Verse, but the more and more I did a lot of thinking about the group these past two years, even abandoning the original feud between DENJI vs. Nagito Komaeda, a storyline about philosophy about the hope of the Shonen Jump and what it represents till this year I decided to reimagine them as more to the ECW brand.
The misfits of the Shonen Jump, grounded to a realistic band of characters instead of trying to be these dark philosophers. I even wanted to change the theme music of the group from the "I Bring the Darkness (End of Days)" theme to the "This Is Extreme" theme. Because when you compare the Shonen Jumps that came before these band of misfits, there were a bunch of "stiffs" that DENJI would call them, where they follow the rules even though they're trying to be these "badass rebels" like Luffy and the Straw Hats, but no.
The Shonen Death Machine are just a bunch of crazies that are breaking the rules of the Shonen Jump unlike where you can be a rebel but a rebel that still follows the rules. Not to the SDM. Even their T-Shirts are basically a bastardized version of Goku's Gi symbol but instead of looking the way it is, it's covered in barbed wire like the letters of ECW. And even DENJI was pretty much just gonna do the "Bye Bye Bye" opening credits from Deadpool & Wolverine, but using Raditz bones to "Kill the Shonen Jump Universe", even the harmless ones. And to DENJI, the message was gonna be, "they're all Raditz level compared to Dragon Ball".
To me, DENJI is the Deadpool of the Shonen Jump universe, even though there is a fourth wall breaking character in Gintama. Actually, DENJI was gonna mention this if I had expanded the Face-Off; "Who the hell is Gintama? And do the other big reacting channels react to his show? Because I'll watch if they watch it as a marketable substitute. If not? Who gives a shit."
The Diamond Championship
I didn't have a challenger for the Diamond Championships, and knowing how much I was planning on overbooking and over bloating the card, it possibly was gonna be the usual Jump characters I had used already. But not this time, because I wanted to play with the idea of having a new Jump female cast to get a chance for the belt, and I chose the nine names.
This match also serves to find some new faces for the SDM, because so far, it's just Emma and Nobara that are representing the women's group, mostly Fuuko & Kikoru.
The Men's World Championship
After Goku becoming Champion, and Eren winning the Collision Course Match, I knew this match gotta happen down the line. And sure it did, planned accordingly. Sure, there are some moments down the year I had second thoughts, same goes with the Final Warfare Match for the Diamond Championship, but I pressed on till I get to this point of the story.
Goku had always started his title reign as this underdog champion, starting every event as the opening card, while Eren Jaeger, who hadn't been beaten as World Champion, was the main event. To Goku, he sees Eren, this Final Boss, this Walking Ragnarok as his true challenge as a Champion.
Goku, last year, he hasn't beaten Eren for the World Championship and has been humbled and humiliated by Eren, twice. And it's symbolic to Goku, because out of all the shows that Goku said no to, and the ones who had been rejected, the only show I can recall that changed everything. Everything that Goku and his Shonen Jump empire has built. It's symbolic to Goku that his way of what an anime should be, Eren Jaeger broke everything about it. I truly believe this because without Attack on Titan, I doubt there would be a Chainsaw Man, a Jujutsu Kaisen, a Demon Slayer, a Promised Neverland, and all those darker fantasy shows, and yes, Jump has done some darker mangas before but their anime counterparts had counteract the mangas impact, dulling them up. I think without Attack on Titan, I doubt Shonen Jump would had given these series a pass without expecting an instant success while following the Shonen Jump idealism.
Attack on Titan, when they came around for the first time, boom. Everything changed, and now, anime is mainstream because of Attack on Titan. For ten years, Attack on Titan has been this record-breaking, trendsending, and awe-inspiring series that Goku said no to.
And when I wrote the first match between the two, it was Batman beating Superman. The second match is when Superman meets Doomsday. And now, it's basically Superman vs. Darkseid. Each match represents the strengths of Attack on Titan compared to Shonen Jump. Match one, it was the writing of Attack on Titan that can't be unmatched with any other show that Jump can come up with. The second match represents the amount of brutality behind each step it was willingly to take when it comes to the story. Finally, this match? It represents everything else about the series, the impact of it all.
Down to the match itself, I was thinking on doing the Antonio Inoki's theme song to be as Goku's theme, but I changed it to Lex Luger's "I'll Be Your Hero" because one, I love the song, and two, I wouldn't be able to use that song for anyone else or for anything kind of situation but here. I would have chosen the "Real American" it would be fitting, but not fitting for this match.
Speaking of themes, I was originally planning on making either Chris Benoit's "Whatever" theme or Drew McIntyre's "Broken Dreams" as Eren's theme for this event rather than Voices.
Speaking of the "Broken Dreams" song, I was playing Fortnite when this season hits, and I was watching a video from Top5Gaming, "50 Easter Eggs in Fortnite Season 4", and I didn't noticed the easter eggs, and then I was inspired by the idea of it from the idea of Eren "Killing the Shonen Jump Universe" with trophies, and that's what the Jump Island is supposed to be in the video package where Eren Jaeger is the Victor von Doom to Son Goku, and Jump Island becomes a Graveyard.
The difference between Eren and DENJI versions of "Killing the Jump Universe" is that Eren is merciless and destructive, while DENJI is being a complete asshole and trolling the other Jump series by using Raditz bones.
This match would've been so heavily booked, and would have been overbooked to hell and back, because this was the original plan for the match itself; the referee would've been bumping all over the place, while any Jump character would come in and interfere on Goku's behalf and hit their finishers on Eren. It would've started with the Big Three, then the Four Pillars, and so forth, but when a group came down to aid Goku, Eren would've kicked out each and every time he was hit by a combo of finishers. And each time Eren put Goku down, this will continue to rinse and repeat till Goku finally taps out, that part of the booking did stay where Eren won by disqualification.
I originally wanted Mamoru to be the one who cost Goku the match by attacking Eren, to continue their feud, but that obviously didn't happen. And it was before Mamoru struck, Goku was tapping out. Eren is like what Joey couldn't do back at Horror's Eve, being the one who made Goku tap out to the Bitter Reality, the bulldog choke. And even Eren foreshadowed this ending by singing the second verse of "Under the Tree". To me, those are the hardest 30 seconds I had ever heard to describe the pain of it.
Writing this match is one of those matches I ended up loving. It was absolutely perfect here. Unlike the Women's World Championship where I had high expectations, it didn't turn out as a disappointment. And, here's a thing, I Did think of the idea of letting Goku win the match. Not cleanly though, since the interferes were there, but still winning. It wouldn't be Goku's way of winning a match, and Goku wouldn't be happy about having this match won without aid but there are times that Goku had won matches with aid before, but in a wrestling match like this, Goku would've been bound by the rules of it all. But having Goku, beating the one man who beats him, is by far more interesting in the long run.
Mr. Canary Coma
I'm breaking kayfabe here because I'm writing here, but I needed something to write me out of the story for now. I was inspired by the belt throw from Brock Lesnar to Vince McMahon, and I said to myself, "what if I could do that but turn it into an angel?" I went with it, and the comatose storyline was my way to write me out of the story.
Wrestle Festival: 4ever
As I said before, originally it was gonna be a two night event, and it was because I haven't found an arena that could hold this year's Festival, till I saw the first AEW: All In, and I said, "why not?"
As I was looking at the arena size, I wasn't planning on doing the AEW style of the LED side screens and tunnel, because I'm a fan of wrestling stages. And I have no interest in breaking attendance, I just want to do it for the fun of it.
As I'm thinking of the entire event all year before Dragon star, I was trying to make both nights as the mixed nights rather than the traditional women's night and men's night, but I couldn't pick out which night will be for which championship, I ended up putting all seven belts in one night, while Night 1 would've been the undercard matches. And another reason why I chose a three nighter, is the main events I had to separate both of them so it won't be bloated by them. And I made the 3 nighter instead, making the Championship Matches being on the third night again.
After Toriyama passed, I was so undecided that Dragon Star was originally gonna be the 3rd night of the Festival with all the Champions vs. Shonen Jump characters. But I ended up giving Dragon Star their own show, but couldn't decide on the two nighter, so I just gave it a one night only show.
So I picked out the Wembley Arena for the two nights, and Wembley Stadium for the Champions. The first two nights were gonna be like a 8-9 match card while Night 3 was a 7 match card, so I ended up looking at both WWE and AEW cards, and saw all the differences and bookings. 5 PLE matches from WWE, or the 12 PPV matches from AEW, I needed to find a right balance, and I ended up with a 7 match card. To fit the Champion's Night card. Seems fair, and it would be a nice way on how to challenge my mind on picking out who's who for the Golden Tickets.
New Championship
Okay, Tony Khan and Triple H aren't the only ones who love Championships, I'm also guilty of it myself, but I'll explain myself in this section on why I didn't bother on introducing a new Championship.
While I was picking out a match card number, and was concerned about the 7 match card, I kind of wanted to introduce a new Championship. Something for the opening contest, and I have the perfect person to hold it. And with the new match concept of the Jackpot Match, I was thinking of doing something like that, but again, I continue on looking at the belts I have, I think I had enough.
It's not the Trios Championships, even though I had multiple Trio matches in the Festival. And I was never a fan of the Trios Championships, and didn't want to do Christainized the belts as World Championships, meaning they need trio matches for them, taking away the value of the World Tag Team Championships.
The ideal belt was gonna be the Hardcore-based Championship, and making it the cross gender belt so both divisions can compete for it, and it would give me the chance to put the King & Queen Championships on a one night card while this belt would cover the other night. And how I would introduce it was basically gonna be the Censor Bar Brawl, thus why I was reserved from that match back at Horror's Eve. Throughout the year, I had been discussing to myself on if I should or should not introduce them. It's like the King & Queen Championships where I didn't introduce them during the World Championship Tournament Arc but introduced them at the All In Arc. I didn't have a new for this Hardcore belt as the placeholder was the "PWA Hardcore Championship", but I scrapped it because I was watching some Hardcore 24/7 moments. I doubt I could do something like that.
Thinking about it now, I could make the Jackpot Match into an actual Championship belt as the "PWA Jackpot Championship", but it would be like the Money in the Bank Briefcase, but it would be treated as a Championship till the Champion can cash it in on a World Championship. Problem here? It would be a pair of belts, one for the Men's Division, and one for the Women's Division. As for the World Championships, it's either singles or tag team belts.
Another belt idea was to canonize the Memorial Intercontinental Championship, by becoming the PWA Intercontinental Championship. But in order to do that is to have all the previous Patterson Classic Winners competing in a match. I can't get Trevor from GTA since he won the first one, but I only made him win one because he's a bisexual Canadian, and Pat Patterson was a Gay Canadian. Not many Canadians I could've chosen. And Bowie from Total Drama '23 wasn't introduced till last year. Joey would be The Intercontinental Champion by default due to; Trevor Philips isn't coming back; there wasn't one in the First Anniversary since I favor the Collision Course Match over it; I don't have any future plans for Ichigo Kurosaki; and finally Son Goku retired.
But for the Women's Division, I would have; Adora vs. Crimvael vs. Loona vs. Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Adora won that match twice.
I didn't bother doing an eight or nine card match for all three nights, and kept it down to seven.
Jackpot Matches
This was my replacement match for the Patterson Classic this year since that'll be at the Imperial Crown. And I try my best to recreate the WWE WrestleMania 2000 Hardcore Battle Royal, and unlike the Patterson Classic, it's much more easy. A tiny bit. Like I said back at Horror's Eve, I might have a participant limit.
I wanted to have a new way to determine the secondary belts, like next year, I want to see a pause on the Pressure Rule. These multi-person matches have been killing me, mentally. But I made this bed, and I'm gonna keep sleeping on it.
The Pride Street Fight: The American Rhodes Church vs. Huey Freeman/Victor Nikiforov & Yuri Katsuki/Crimvael, Maka Albarn & May Marigold
At first, it was always gonna be Bow vs. Huey Freeman from the beginning of the year when I had Huey as a World Championship Challenger, and I know how to start this feud. So this was planned from the beginning of the year, but it's the execution I was more worried about. Concerned that it's about two black characters on opposite sides, so there were times I did want to back off, but as a writer, I need to press on because I will have to tackle situations like this when it comes to writing. So mine as well go all in with it.
There was a point of having this match to be for the PWA Franchise Championship, and here's the reason why I was kind of wanted to do the 2 nighters rather than a 3 nighter show, and this was before Toriyama, early on at one point, it was gonna be the Trios Match for the Franchise Championship, and it was gonna be a five challenger with Huey Freeman, Kouchi Mizuki, Ritsuka Aoyagi, Victor Nikiforov, & Yuri Katsuki in this match. Then at one point with the Franchise Championship, it was gonna be the Trios Match with the World Tag Team Championships, the Double Jeopardy Match with Katsuki & Nikiforov being the Champions. And I believe, just for the Franchise Championship alone, Yuri Katsuki was gonna win it, because I wanted him to be on his own without Victor next year, but that was stupid and idiotic of me, because Victor and Yuri is a pair that can't be separated, even though I did that all of last year.
Then after both Championships are off the table, I continue on with these feuds throughout the year, till a certain point of the year, I separated both feuds to be their own matches, because I had different results at the end of the night. It was 50/50 between the tag team match but mostly Yuri and Victor were winning the match, while Bow was planning to win his match with the assist from Adora. Then I switch the results of that match to let Huey win, and with Byakuya winning the title, it kind of makes sense for a future match. Then throughout the year, that was the main result till the Face-Off.
The headcanon name of George Marcus Jr. is actually named after the voice actors of Bow; George DiCenzo of the original series; and Marcus Scribner of the newer series. The Junior bit is that his father in the show is also named George. But it was this promo alone, even though I had written it, I felt it. Bow is giving out his heart and soul, and talking about his past with Huey is something special. Right there, even though I wrote the finish, I was looking ahead and changed it to have Bow winning it.
Continuing with the ARC, this was one of the very first original matches that came after the Men's Trios Match idea, and then merch both of these matches. After I changed the match card and it was on Night 1 for this match, this was gonna be a 14-person brawl under the Pride Street Fight.
The original match before the merging but kept the Pride Street Fight, Crimvael wasn't anywhere near in this match, and Adora wasn't the winner of the Patterson Classic because I thought I might have a different outcome of the match but didn't. Instead of Crimvael, it was gonna be Luz Noceda & Amity Blight in this match, teaming up with Maka Albarn & May Marigold.
Then when it was a two nighter at first, I could just put these two matches together, and be one big brawl. It would still be the ARC winning, with Adora dropping Huey and Bow pinning him.
But when I did some thinking, and saw who would be the Champions, at the end, I had to separate both matches, then another separation from the Men's Trios Match. I did this match without Adora because she's the Patterson Classic Winner challenging the World Champion, Erza Scarlet for the belt. Speaking of,
The Women's World Championship
Adora was originally booked to win the World Championship, starting her story, and rebranding the American Rhodes Church to the World American Regime. All year, after booking Adora winning the PC Match, it was Adora winning regardless. Because before this booking decision, another idea that didn't happen was Adora & Catra were gonna win the PWA Women's World Tag Team Championships at Dreamwork till the dropping point at Global Warfare where Gwen & LeShawna was also originally meant to win the belts there at one point before starting the year, predating the other decisions.
So what made me change this booking decision? It's the Presidential Year. That's why, because I wasn't paying much attention to the current events around me till the Trump attempt, and in November, seeing who won, right there I had a conflicting feeling on my booking here, even right now I'm still conflicted. Because if I continue with the WAR faction, it would possibly make things worse, even though this is a gimmick of the extreme left wing that is also the Heels. While on the opposite wing, it would be the Victorian Empire, while Global Economy would be a better fit but they only see profits and money exceed gender identity since both sides can be exploited. And the Victorian Empire is the imperialist group. Right now, I'm conflicted because I was thinking of ending the ARC, but I also need to end the VE, because the equality rule is in play here. If I had to drop the extreme left heel faction, then I need to drop the extreme right heel faction.
Do I regret not pulling the trigger? Of course I do. Because this was overdue for Adora, and for three years of doing this American cult gimmick that started with me just ripping on Cody Rhodes AEW promo, she deserved it. But if I was paying attention to the current events, it would've done differently but I just kept minding my own business and just moved one with this story.
The Sermon Video Packages were something I wanted Adora to do, while preaching about what the ARC would do for a better America, while everyone else is stuck in the past. Each sermon, we were gonna see Adora being more demented after each and every promo, and this idea came from Sherlock's "Sir Boast-a-lot" scene from Season 2 finale, and Uncle Howdy's RAW May 27 message with the therapist have been found after going missing. And it was during that month, I had the rename of the group after this year, so I can move on from the ARC but I wanted to keep the American name since Adora is an American character. So the World American Regime was a placeholder of its own till I just liked the idea of hearing Adora calling her rebranding name with those demented smiles of her after each sermon, it just works. And creepy.
The original concept of this match was gonna have Adora calling herself an American Fairy Tale by being someone who is the complete opposite of Erza Scarlet. Adora was never about sex appeal but she still got over with the audience, while Erza needs cheap pops and fanservice to get over. I think the ideal world was gonna be like Shimoneta where everything is heavily restricted but under Adora's image, that was the driving force of her United States of Progressive America. And even after I wanted Adora to win the match, another rebranding name came to mind was gonna be the Adorica or the United States of Adora, something like that before the World American Regime came to mind.
The original finish of this match was an avalanche flatliner then a turnover for the Holy Cross Rhodes (Sister Abigail). That was the finish, and I think the ideal ARC Dream Championship that Adora was gonna rename it, like how Bow's ARC All Sex Championship after winning the Franchise Championship, it was gonna be based after MJF American Championship.
Adora was gonna be the true winner of this year for me, because I knew Adora deserved it after being given this insane gimmick.
I may not talk much about Erza in this section, but she played her role as a fighting champion, being the one who has beaten; Team RWBY (minus Yang), the Victorian Empire (minus Gina), and the entire Bullet Kingdom, and the only factionless person, Mikasa Ackermann.
I knew the moment that Erza won the World Championship while Adora won the Patterson Classic, I knew this night was the dropping point. And if I wanted Adora to win to be memorable, mine as well make Erza have this superwoman status of beating all of the challengers till this event.
On a side note, I want Nebula Violette to be part of the ARC since it was a group of Pride characters, and Nebula is technically Asexual, but didn't since I'm kind of reserving it for now. And another male member was gonna be Nagito Komaeda, but like Nebula, I'm kind of reserving it for now.
So yeah, Adora was gonna be our World Champion. And I'm disappointed by that because this might be the only time we might get this moment.
The Shonen Death Machine vs. The White Fang vs. The Fairy Dragons vs. The Demon Slayer Corps vs. The Black Bulls
Before I wanted to talk about the matches themselves, I made this reference back at Dragon Star, but I brought it back here. I made a Metamorphosis character that had appeared in DENJI matches. In my PWA canon, it was Kana Yoshida, the daughter of the late Saki Yoshida, she survived a miscarriage and as a bathroom baby. The idea of DENJI is a supporter for betterment for the Homeless since he's also homeless in his story. And back at Dragon Star, he gave a shoutout to a Korean character, Lee Hoon from Suicide Boy who was in the same boat as DENJI, minus the demon powers.
Now this match, like DENJI said in the Face-Off, was originally gonna be a Stampede Brawl. Basically my version of Anarchy in the Arena, or Stadium Stampede but they're basically the same match. And I only did this match once between; Ninny Spangcole & Noel Niihashi/Blake Belladonna & Yang Xiao Long vs. Hannah Whitehouse & Natalie Blackstone/Charlotte Magne (Charlie Morningstar's original name before the reveal) & Vagatha (Vaggie's name before she corrects Sir Pentious in the show).
So yeah, this was gonna be a fight between all four groups, and yes, I do mean four groups. This was during the undecidedness of Dragon Star, and it was gonna be the Demon Slayer Corps vs. White Fang vs. Black Bulls vs. Shonen Death Machine. The Fairy Dragons didn't have anything to do, till I realized that I got one extra slot for the Franchise Championship, so Natsu is gonna fill that role, hence the Fairy Dragons will get involved.
And even the women were gonna be part of this match, and at one point, it was gonna be a Collision Course Match but without the Table Elimination Rule. Even Levy McGarden would've been involved with this match.
But the biggest problem would've been this, too much detail of the match. And that is 20 people getting involved with this match, and even if I cut the women out of it, it's still 15 men getting involved. So I like the American Rhodes Church matches, I separated them all into three matches, and kept the Collision Course Match for the tag team match.
And there was one other match I would have done for the Franchise Championship, and it's the Jackpot Match. With 5 men, it would've been much more manageable, but I didn't do it because the other two nights needed a dumping match for the remaining talent to get involved with the Festival. And I didn't want to do two more battle royals since that would be 6 battle royals in a row with the inclusion of; Horror's Eve Tag Team Championship Battle Royal; the 2 nights of Declaration of War; the Shonen Jump Universal Battle Royal.
And right there, I came up with the idea that each pinfall will get a secondary title match next year, since this match was gonna be for the Franchise Championship, and so on the Diamond Championship can piggyback from this original booking.
I had three roads I could choose on whoever wins the Franchise Championship, because I had ideas running into my mind for Adam Taurus, DENJI, and even Natsu Dragneel was a contender at one point. I was splitting hairs and coin flipping each and every week till this event on my final decision, that it was either gonna be Adam or DENJI that will leave the Festival as Champion with whoever wins gets the Golden Tickets for their groups.
This is the second time the Demon Slayer Corps has to leave PWA, the first time around was just Inosuke & Zenitsu, but now it's the whole group. If I had to come up with a kayfabe reason, they have three movies to make, and they're gonna do it Lord of the Rings style by going back-to-back filming schedule.
The Four Way Trios Elimination Match
I based this match after the TNA World X-Cup Match from Victory Road.
But I did have multiple matches involving the Bullet Kingdom members with Ninny & Noel vs. Nobara & Emma, while Loona vs. Hitomi was on the card. I dropped Hitomi and Emma, since they were gonna be involved with the main five faction warfare from the previous section. So Nobara ended up having to feud with BK on her own, and I didn't know who she could pair up at the Festival till I thought about the Zen'in Twins. And no, I don't have any other plans with them, and my mistake is that I didn't have Fuuko Izumo and Kikoru Shinomiya have their match here, and keeping Momo Ayase & Ken Takakura a secret till Night 3. Actually, I didn't think of the last two till I saw clips of their show and just said, "okay, they're in".
Actually, I want to mention it here. I didn't know how to use Kohaku from Dr. Stone, and I was considering adding her as part of the SDM but she seems like a Stiff, which is quite ironic since Senku was an original member of the SDM. I even gave her theme song to Arslan Altain.
Now why are Atsuko, Lumity, and the Red-Headed Bombshells being involved? I overbooked it, but it wouldn't be fair on dropping Lumity after the abandoned Pride Street Fight involving them. The Red-Headed Bombshells had a resurgence after being disbanded over a year ago, and I need a good comeback match. Atsuko being a PWA original, and having her pair up with Lumity brings back some memories as the Wicked Witches between Akko and Luz as a tag team before Amity was brought in, and a witches trio.
I wanted to mention the Red-Headed Bombshells for a moment. I originally thought of the idea of making Kallen & Yoko as this mercenary tag team but that didn't work well for me. And I didn't have much for them to do till the Red-Headed Bombshells had been reformed. And they were going to be Akemi's muscle-for-hire team, and I had considered Kallen to be part of GE due to her character background of coming from a wealthy family herself. She, Akemi, and Sonia would have been this rich trio of characters but I didn't do this, because I just love Gundham and Sonia together, and Kallen seems out of place with the group.
The Women's World Tag Team Championship
Speaking of trios, I can't believe how much effort I had made in these trio matches this year. I still ain't bending backwards for the Trios Championships, since the reason why I had trio matches in the Festival is because it's simple; World Championship, and/or World Tag Team Championships golden tickets. Simple.
When I made this match, originally, it was gonna be the mixed tag team match between Asuna & Kirito vs. Bridgette & Geoff at one point for the King & Queen Championship, then it was turned into Asuna vs. Bridgette, and then finally turn into a trio match with Marin, Komichi, Gwen & LeShawna.
I wished I had booked the Women's Tag Team division much better, because of the amount of mishandling I had made this year. Especially the tag team belts by playing hot potato. If I went with my gut back at Imperial Crown, it would've been much smoother with Gwen & LeShawna winning the belts there, while Komichi & Marin winning the Grand Star Tournament, and this is all on me. Gwen & LeShawna were the plan participants this year but I didn't have their opponents picked out till I thought about the Asuna vs. Bridgette match, and put two-to-two together, and I somehow got six.
I was all in with Ninny and Noel as Tag Team Champions, it gave me tunnel vision, and I've been trying to come up with a way on how to get back on track on going to this match.
At one point, it wasn't gonna be for the Championships, and I believe it was gonna be; Satsuki & Setsuna vs. Harriet & Jolyne with the latter team winning the belts. But Weiss and Cecilia took Satsuki & Setsuna into their quartet match. Speaking of which, both Weiss & Cecilia were gonna compete against Satsuki & Setsuna for the belts while Winter and Adam were gonna challenge the King & Queen Championship, with Winter was gonna continue to be the moral support for Weiss throughout the year.
Back to the official match itself, I was even gonna do the separation of this trio match but it didn't feel right without it, so I made this match in order to have Asuna and Bridgette.
The finish of this match is actually based on a fight from the 2005 version of Tom Brown's Schooldays where Tom Brown was fighting a much older boy, Flashman, in school and even kicking his ass till he cheated with the brass knuckles. So the diamond ring here would fit the bill. I doubt people would get that reference since it was a TV movie that I ended up watching when I was a kid, and even rooting for Tom Brown to kick Flashman's ass.
I had wanted to have this match happen this year, because it's a simple uprising against a bully storyline, and Asuna has been a bully towards Bridgette, and whenever I had pictured the ending, the Schooldays fight scene seems to come to mind. But when I wrote this match, I knew that Gwen & LeShawna aren't gonna get their moment as Champions, because of Asuna being the one who pinned Bridgette, even by cheating.
Where is there ever a moment where I can have the change? Yes. I did have thoughts about Bridgette pinning Asuna for the match, but what stops me from doing that is Blake. Because I want PERFECTION being on top of the Women's Division.
The King & Queen Championship
All year, I couldn't come up with the challengers for this year. So this was like a dumping match, but Adrian and Marinette winning the belts and this match was an easy decision. But around the booking of having Adam Taurus & Winter Schnee winning the belts, then Junichiro Kubota & Tomo Aizawa being the top challengers, I even went to have Akemi Soryuin & Andrew to win the belts this year since it's England and Andrew is British. And at one point was gonna give Gundham & Sonia the belts to win, which would've been poetic since they were the very first challengers and would have been perfect for this ending.
I was so undecided on the booking of these belts to the point that anyone could've won these belts.
The Spider-Man: the Animated Series intro was something I wanted to do but it was meant to be an Izuku Midoriya intro with different characters, and possibly want me to bring in Utena Hiiragi to feud with Marinette, but damn, 4'11" tall? Well, I could just ignore the heights, since some heights are ridiculous, and that's why we're never gonna get any of the One Piece characters since they're tall as fuck. Plus, the Utena theme would've been Marty Scurll's "One True Villain", or even Mickie James' "Obsession" theme.
Thinking about Izuku, at one point, Izuku & Ochaco was gonna be competing for the King & Queen Championships, against Marinette & Adrian.
Armin Arlelt vs. Karma Akabane
This one I just wanted to try, but it's a long term booking by having full power of the PWA brand. And I always wanted to try a heel authority figure storyline, but the problem with this is that there is a higher authority figure that can overthrow whatever the heel authority figure made. Hence why I put myself in a coma with the general managers being in second when it comes to running the company.
Doing the video packages with Karma, going on this smear campaign throughout the year with some little truths behind Armin's actions. Armin has been the authority figure to the Men's Division while at first, it was more of a Jack Tunney role but ended up being more of a William Regal whenever he's up for a match type of situation.
I always wanted to try a heel authority figure because it would be so much money and see what I can do for it.
Why Karma? First off, he was at the first Dreamwork with Nagisa Shiota in a four way tag match, but as I remember what his character was and wanted to be a politician, and what's the most landmine field as a politician? The wrestling environment, and Karma would be perfect in this field.
Speaking of heel authority figures, last year I was toying with the idea of having Chris McLean from Total Drama with the theme music picked out for him, and it would've been Eric Bischoff's "I'm Back".
Another authority figure I was playing around was Mickey Mouse, or in PWA canon, it's Mr. Michael Mouse with Vince McMahon's "No Chance in Hell" theme for him.
At one point during the booking stages, Karma was gonna be the Franchise Champion and he was gonna be defending it against Armin, hence the excuse of wanting Armin in a match, holding the company hostage. Then after Goku is booked to retire after Dragon Star, it would've been for the World Championship against Armin while Byakuya was gonna hold the Franchise Championship against Joey. But obviously that didn't work out.
So the reason why the Final Warfare Match was gonna be the deciding factor, I think I knew that they were gonna get into a match together, I think it would be better on having a duel situation option with the Loser Leaves Town Match if Team Arlelt wins, or the General Manager Match that Team Akabane had won.
The Men's World Tag Team Championship
I had been planning this spot where Ochaco was gonna turn heel on Izuku for over a year after the promo between Izuku and Oscar against Seiya and Tatsuya. And immediately said that this spot is the endgame. And this would've been the second year in the row where Marin, a platonic friend, then delivered a low block kick onto Izuku in Final Warfare for Kirito to get the win. And now this year, Ochaco leaves her ring and Izuku taps out. This was way before those Izuku Cuck'd Memes, and it was during those months, I had second thoughts about going through it and was planning on keeping things the way they are. The more and more I argue about either keeping the original plan or going against the memes. So as the Festival came, I decided to come to terms on going forward with the plan.
I do wanted Lux & Gino being tag champions before entering this event but it was difficult booking that been causing me problems without playing hot potato, and this year has been hot potato game with the Women's Tag Team belts, then the transactional role of Owen & Rosemary, the Men's Tag Team is the last of the hot potatoes, this year so far.
Thankfully, I get to have that Deku and Ossy being Tag Champions is something I had been happy to have, but I wish it was much earlier to give them a couple of title defenses before dropping them to Lux and Gino, but simple booking of having a three match back-to-back between DOA and the Demon Slayer Corps is too precious to drop due to the simple booking. But the idea of Izuku finally reaching the top of the world, just to have it all crumbled down after Ochaco left her ring to him, is much more valuable than a title reign.
The trio of Gino, Lux and Whitley would be the subgroup called "Wall Street" due to their American backgrounds of; Gino Weinberg's Britannia is basically America if UK won the Revolutionary War; Lux Bonteri being from Star Wars, the most American series that has huge financial backing; and Whitley Gele from a Texan animation studio of Rooster Teeth. The Schnee Sisters would be under this subgroup due to Whitley and Rooster Teeth.
I didn't have the DOA name till this event, because I didn't have a proper name for them. DOA is basically an acronym of; Akko, Ossy, & Deku. Since it has always been this trio of friends, but also, "Dead On Arrival" or "Dead Or Alive" since they seem to be the bullied trio from the groups of; Hope Over Despair, PERFECTION, and Global Economy. All three have this one big man where Oscar goes up and challenges him while Izuku being the straight man to Ossy. The cheerleaders were a last minute decision, because I was watching one of the top Anime review channels where they were listing Best Animes of the Summer I think, and the cheerleader anime popped up and said to myself, "I can see Deku and Ossy going with some fanfare". And I did want to continue with their Yu-Gi-Oh card theme of fusion monsters, but I went with the Star Wars white and brown theme, because Deku & Ochaco is a Star Wars themed wedding.
Speaking of weddings, it's a wrestling wedding. What did you expect? Of course it would've gone wrong in some fashion. The only wedding that went well, at least till the post ceremony, was the Savages. Everyone else? Went straight to hell because it's such a wrestling troupe at this point. You had the Kane & Lita wedding; Tommy Dreamer got shot in a TNA wedding; Chelsea Green had three weddings in TNA and all went to hell, and one of them was just a Championship belt; HHH stole Stephanie McMahon from Andrew Test Martin's wedding; Al Wilson suffer a fatal heart attack from his wedding to Dawn Marie; Billy and Chuck's is a publicity stunt scam; you name it, nothing went well in Wrestling Weddings. Something has to happen in order to make it interesting.
Hell, a Wrestling Wedding was planned for Blake & Yang, I'll explain more in the Texas Deathmatch section.
The Men's World Championship
Believe it or not, Serenity Wheeler was gonna turn heel by accepting Byakuya Togami's money and screwing her big brother Joey over for this match, hence why Serenity has been heavily involved in this feud. She was the start of it and would've been the end of it. Everything when she was involved, it had to be her to cost her brother the match. What's changed? Ochaco just did this with Izuku, and these two matches were back-to-back, and it would've been a repeat. So the Serenity part of the feud ended at Global Warfare where I came up with this decision to drop her out of this feud. That's her conclusion to this story.
Like what Joey and Byakuya were meant to be the winners at Imperial Crown, it would've been them leading their own teams against Global Economy in Final Warfare in one of the original planned stories after choosing Joey and Byakuya as the winners by the start of the year; Joey, DOA, & Adrian vs. Global Economy. All of the Champions would've been involved in this match. Or even an alteration of Team Wheeler of Joey, Mamoru Chiba, Armin Arlelt, Huey Freeman, & Son Goku vs. Team Togami of Byakuya, Eren Jaeger, Karma Akabane, Bow, & Kazuto Kirigaya. This was the main storyline throughout the year, with them, main eventing the Wembley show but that didn't happen, according to plan.
Ever since Toriyama passed, the backup plan was gonna be Togami vs. Wheeler for the Franchise Champion with Togami as the champion, but it didn't feel right for me because it's Togami, he needs to be in the main event scene. Somehow, I got to get there in order to fulfill this storyline. The storyline of the working class of Wheeler against the richer class of Togami, something I just piggyback from the Seto Kaiba vs. Joey Wheeler rivalry from the Yu-Gi-Oh series. And it would've been surprising to have Seto Kaiba actually helping Joey in this match by a chair swing shot onto Togami, which was the opposite of the abandoned "PWA: King's Game" but Joey managed to find a way to win. And it was gonna be for Joey's Franchise Championship which he just won back at Road 2 Gold. That was the idea, and that match has been on the backburner for over a year till this year.
But it couldn't be for the Franchise Championship, it has to be the World Championship ever since Joey's performances as the Franchise Champion, and Togami's World Championship chase for nearly two years as the very first challenger for the World Championship. These two men were too big to be in the Franchise Championship match at this Festival right now. But even at one point, it would've been a Night 2 match with a different outcome for the World Championship.
I believe the backup plan for the World Championship itself after Goku retires, it would've been a Collision Course Match for this belt while the Night 2 match would be a Outlaw Rules match. But my main problem here is that this match will end up eating up the other feuds, like how last year had eaten up the DENJI vs. Nagito feud, and nearly eaten up Naofumi Iwatani vs. Keyaru, Armin Arlelt vs. Byakuya Togami, but didn't take the ideal feud between Alejandro Burromuerto vs. Monkey D. Luffy which turned into the All In Tournament finals. And if I did that, it would've been; Bow vs. Byakuya Togami vs. DENJI vs. Eren Jaeger vs. Huey Freeman vs. Joey Wheeler vs. Mamoru Chiba vs. Tanjiro Kamado. That would've been the ideal match, but I didn't want to do it, since I already did a main event Collision Course Match at last year's Festival in Night 2. And I needed matches for Night 2 for this year, hence the Final Warfare Match became my saving grace, and Armin showing his spitefulness towards Byakuya just adds up perfectly.
Actually, there was a one night tournament idea for this belt at Wembley for the World Championship, that was the third back up plan with the semifinals was mostly likely to be Bow vs. Joey Wheeler which seems to be tradition at this point since they always find a way to be at opposite sides at the Festival, and finally the Byakuya Togami vs. Huey Freeman match that was originally planned for the Road 2 Gold event before being pulled apart from and had their match an event earlier. And whoever wins the first match will dictate the results of the Finals. It was gonna be an eight-man tournament, with Adam, DENJI, Kirito, and Natsu. I did think of doing a 16-man tournament but that would be too much, and again, would have taken away Night 2 matches, and I'm not a weekly show, this is a monthly sporadic show at best, so I gotta make all of my shows count somehow.
The other backup plans for the World Championship was Bow vs. Huey Freeman with Bow winning by Adora assistance, or even the Kirito vs. Goku with Kirito winning.
None of those matches couldn't fill the void of Togami vs. Wheeler match that has been the plan since the beginning of the year. The only one that could've filled it up was Eren Jaeger vs. Son Goku, but that was fulfilled by their Dragon Star match. And that show would've had Joey win the battle royal in the preshow, but I wanted to fill it with the talent I wanted to see if I can use one day in PWA. Even a Triple Threat Match concept with Goku defending against Joey and Byakuya, but Goku would feel like a third wheel to this feud that has been a year long plan. And there was even a plan on having Togami beating Goku for the World Championship while Joey, most likely to win the Jackpot Match in Night 2, and extend this feud a bit longer.
I had managed to reach it to this point, but the journey was a very frustrating one and a lot of plans to go through, but we made it. Somehow.
The Texas Deathmatch
Before the Third Act, this was the planned match I had for over a year. Because the idea of the story was Yang achieving independence away from Ruby Rose and Blake Belladonna. The whole goal of the feud was independence, this is what the story is about. Yang and Ruby were chained to their teams, and Ruby wanted RWBY to die because she wanted to "Be Free" hence why I chose that Papa Roach song for Ruby's bullet vignette, and seeing Yang nothing more but a "Hollywood Whore" because she's an American blonde bombshell.
The moment of this match is on the booking, I had Taiyang's story figured out and the Xiao Long family story will be the main driving force. To Yang, she's been living in a broken home where she has been treated like shit and sacrificed her own life in order to make Ruby be this perfect child. While Ruby is a spoiled child who never had nothing bad happen to her because she has Yang to use as a living shield. Yang always gets the belt, which Ruby has never been touched by.
I was using the reviewers of RWBY as fuel to my stories, and the idea of Team RWBY never being given proper consequences to their actions, and that is basically Ruby's attitude. Nothing bad has ever happened to her after her consequences. So I was thinking about their childhoods and everyone, reactors and in the universe, treats Taiyang as this perfect father figure even after his missteps, and acts like this cool father figure but I didn't see it. I see a realistic scenario, and when you have a father who lost his wives in a matter of a few years, I think something must have driven him to be in a mental decline. No person would be like Taiyang after losing that much. Even I went through a mental decline after my dad passed and I put all the blame onto myself. So I did come up with this headcanon story that's also downright horrific but something a bit believable by making Taiyang this suffering of a father, literally the Sins of a Father. The Xiao Long Sisters' childhood is the literal definition of perfection, I just wanna add some realism to this match by adding the horrific backstory to it at the Face-Off.
I was also basing this storyline around Yang's original personality concept of a thrillseeker, wanting to spread her wings to be free and sees saving people as a bonus, and whenever she's out there she gets to be Her for once. Mixture with the abandonment issues, she believes that she's the cause of all of it, being the Bastard Child. And this feud is meant to push her exclusively and be her own woman after this year. Another fact about Yang independence is the Bumblebee wedding idea.
The wedding idea was supposed to be a sham, a ploy to write Blake Belladonna by sending her to a mental institution during the ceremony. Even Blake was pleading with her mother, Kali, for trying to get her free like what a good parent would do, but Kali and Ghira act like she's not her parents. That was the original Yang independence storyline.
Ruby, she is leading the Bullet Kingdom while she and "Salem" the team of Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi as Tag Team Champions. This is when we get to see this entitlement complex that she seems to have all her life. Everything she has done, she gets it and nobody can't blame her for anything. Just like the show itself. This entire feud is to have Ruby being this main antagonist role, at least a Main role, something she hasn't been given till Volume 9. Ruby is nothing more but a pure pathological villain. She's a nihilist who doesn't want to see RWBY rise because of the mishandling and the cultist activities behind it.
This was a pure coincidence back at Outlaw Independence where Ruby said that she can't see beyond Volume 9. I chose that because they announced that both Volume 8 and 9 were in production. Like how Imperial Weiss came before Nightmare Weiss, Ruby's Promo came before Ruby's Message.
The Xiao Long Sisters Match wasn't a Texas Deathmatch at first, but it was actually either a Dog Collar, a Strap, or even a Texas Bullrope Match. And even the build up was different, since Yang just wanted a match between them but Ruby wants Yang to go through three different trials in order to get them. The first one was to do the Trish Stratus humiliation while wearing an American flag tiny bikini at Summer Stampede, hence why the dog collar match was a plan. The second trial was a haircut at Horror's Eve as a sick birthday present, which happened after Global Warfare. Speaking of which, the third one and this was during the idea of having Tomo as the Diamond Champion, defending her belt against Yang Xiao Long, but before the match, earlier that night, Ruby would have done the ten lashes by using Taiyang's belt onto Yang who was also wearing the American bikini. But Ruby stopped at the ninth lashing and told Yang that she won, and will be a bigger person to drop it and left Yang behind, not fulfilling the agreement to the match. And Yang was putting on her gear at ringside since it was a sports top with shirt, denim shorts, and boots. And at the end of the match, Ruby runs down and costs Yang the chance of being the Champion by giving her the tenth lashing, unknown to Ruby that she fulfilled their agreement.
The Dog Collar Match was the first hardcore match that came to mind after the humiliation spot back at Summer Stampede. The Strap Match came after the ten lashes spot. And finally the Texas Bullrope Match was because they're both Texans. But for some reason, even with logic behind them, they didn't fill the void. It wasn't until I saw the Texas Deathmatch, and hearing how the original version was, I'm like, "that's a new match I can try", and right there, the match is gonna be the Texas Deathmatch. So I ended up watching some of the concept, and didn't want to do the barbed wire spots because Mamoru and Eren will be doing that. Didn't do the thumbtacks because I didn't know it would work till I recall the Baker vs. Rosa matches, and the Chicago Street Fight back at All Out this year. But I want to add some spice to the Diamond Championship match in Night 3, so I didn't bother with it here. But I didn't need to do all of that, because it was about the story. The ten lashes Yang gave to Ruby is the year-long payoff. The bullrope is brought back because I see Yang being this proud Texan girl. And the bullwhip spot was actually inspired by the John Cena-JBL match that was also the First Blood Match where JBL pulls it out and taunts Cena with it but doesn't actually use it.
Letting Yang be in this match and for once, letting go and being free from the chains of a long and abusive lifestyle. I'm not saying Taiyang was a horrible father, but I'm saying that he's trying his best to be the best father he can be after seeing the errors of his ways.
But before I started this match, I originally thought of doing this match in a cinematic match, the same way as the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch was gonna be. It would've been in their backyard, and in their household where they can literally bring the house down. And the setting would've been a small ranch, something like the AJ Styles vs. Undertaker match back from WrestleMania. But I didn't go with that since that would be two hardcore main event matches that the audience in Wembley Arena wouldn't be able to see in person. So I kept it in the arena, and did everything I could to make it feel amazing.
For over a year, this match and the other Deathmatch has to happen for me, because when you have an idea, you gotta fall through. You had to go through the trenches of what the year can dish out to you. And yeah, I would have loved to do all of that, but the Vince McMahon documentary and scandals, I didn't do the humiliation spot because it would be demeaning to Yang since she was originally meant to be "sex appeal" of the main cast, but didn't want to do it so that was scrapped. And Ruby being strapping Yang all year should be enough, and the haircut spot is something I wanted to do with Yang.
A small fact here, I did actually want Ruby to retain her belt at Global Warfare while Yang would've won a battle royal at Dragon Star to get that chance, which is why we didn't get a women's battle royal featuring the female talent. But I couldn't see Ruby or Yang as Diamond Champion after the Festival, and no Texas Deathmatch in this matchup. But possibly would have main evented Wembley though.
I feel very accomplished for writing this match.
The Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch
Another match that had been planned for this event. A year prior, Eren was arrested under false crimes and right there, that's my next feud. And thankfully, it was Mamoru in order to make his wife happy by giving her a swan song of a celebration because Eren Jaeger would've ended there by ruining it. He ended up busting her open at the start of the year, and thus the feud will go on in plan.
Mamoru has been planned to be the one to cost Eren the World Championship, once against Joey, then the second at Dragon Star against Goku. Because this match isn't about the World Championship, it's something far more personal to Mamoru but another day to Eren.
I had mentioned the Skidmore "unsolved" murder because I model the idealism of the PWA society to it, on what happens when someone who's above power and can walk over everyone because they can. And Eren is that monster who does that minus the sexual assault and thief crimes. He's a walking Ragnarok of a man.
Each time he competes, it's like the court cases where McElroy keeps winning in a "fair" court match. Eren is getting beyond more violent, psychopathic, no remorse to his victims and sees each match as a business unless it's no rules, it becomes a sick pleasure of hurting people and wanting his opponents to go down in his level of destruction and morality. To Eren and to his opponents; "if you want peace then you better kill freedom". And Eren is the embodiment of true freedom, and this is nothing new to Eren since he's the Final Boss of the Men's Division.
As for Mamoru Chiba, we see Mamoru having hatred drive him to go mad on picking a fight against the Ragnarok itself. Each match Eren continues to walk by, we see how far and how much he'll systematically destroy the body and mind of all of his opponents. Wanting them all to live under his cruel Bitter Reality, and believes the idealism of killing is the truest form of "Winning" and the only reason why he doesn't go for a true Win, is because he's playing fair with everyone else, letting them all have their chance to beat him under the rules of combat. But he'll make each person earn their victories.
Even Usagi Tsukino doesn't want Mamoru to go down in Eren's level and believes there is good in everybody, but Eren continues to haunt them by bringing his reality into their fantasy. Because in Sailor Moon, they might have fought someone like Eren, but when we're all going on even grounds, is there anyone like Eren in their world? Even beating down their daughter because he can. So Mamoru has to become a dark deviant to himself as he's been carrying the barbed wire bat.
The purpose of the barbed wire bat is actually something I forgot to add, but it's supposed to symbolize the rose thrones without the rose itself. Something that he has been saving the 90's Sailor Moon by throwing a rose, but this is what happens when he uses the rose thrones instead.
Each time Mamoru is going this road, we see him finally losing it, and I don't recall any Shojo main characters going this violent against the main villain, because Mamoru never fought anyone like Eren before. And this match build up is on Mamoru sanity and how far he will go, and unlike Goku who possibly wanted to make this into a simple fair fight, but to Mamoru who has his family assaulted by Eren, I doubt any man would let that slip. But it's how far you can go in order to hunt down this one man to ruin him? To make him pay?
Unlike the Texas Deathmatch, I immediately knew that this match was going to be the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, but I didn't want to do it in front of the audience due to the pyro and I needed a way to write Eren out of PWA in an epic way. And in doing so it is gotta be a cinematic match of a Barbed Wire Deathmatch, since you can have a controlled environment and can take days to shoot. And having it at the Tsukino Mansion is the added touch on how to make it look how far Mamoru is wanting to destroy Eren.
The problem was another time-based match and how can I do it. Originally, this was gonna be a 15 minute match, since it's basically a close quarters pyro show with barbed wire, and my main focus wasn't gonna be the ring itself if I had to be honest. Actually, everything that happened prior to the match starting was gonna be in the match proper while the finish went according to plan. But I realize all of that fight was basically gonna cover up more than 15 minutes, and the ending and post match will end up taking up more time to prepare to get things ready. So I changed it to a 20 minute match, because the original 15 minute match was just gonna be at least 9-10 minutes at best.
I only had a limited amount of matches that I can get references for, and despite the ending, I still use the Moxley vs. Omega match from Revolution '21. Thank goodness this was a cinematic match, or else I must have committed an actual deathmatch, because I had done it a bit much on the barbed wire spots. I wasn't up on watching any CZW matches to get some references for barbed wire matches since it would involve light tubes somehow, which I didn't bother on doing. So don't expect any light tubes or those little sticks that they pierced onto the forehead, any time soon.
I was conflicted on either having the barbed wire web ropes or just simply having them wrapped around the ropes. I chose the latter since the previous would be a bit much, and I covered the entire field of stands and even a crash pad in barbed wire, which actually can do it safely with that cover up cloth since you can do the dives and pull the cloth away, you can just cover it up with barbed wire afterwards to give off the illusion. I may be a wrestling writer but I'm not a sadist.
If I do want to have this match in front of an audience, I gotta know which state it would be best to have it under. I would consider the Daily's Palace that hosted this match before, but seeing how it turned out it must be a venue condition, I doubt I could do it. And it has to be an outdoor event where I can have it under control because I'm putting the audience first before actually doing it. This may be FanFiction and AO3 but I do try to put myself into what if scenarios, and that is my what if. I don't want to put others in harm's way without having actual references to work with. I can make this feel like fantasy and I can write an entire arena blow up and nobody is hurt, but I write under realism. The only thing that isn't real and complete fantasy is that PWA is a multi-billion dollar company with unlimited funds. That is the only thing that is completely pure FanFic shit I did.
Making Mamoru officially lose his mind in the end, that has always been the endgame of the match. Something he had done, crossed the line and committed a serious crime, and since it was a Black Contract, PWA has nothing to do with this match at all since it's a non-company Unsanctioned Match. That's the story there. Also, writing Eren out of PWA will be good for me, since I wanted to take a break from him as the Final Boss. And let Togami run the PWA Men's Division with the Global Economy backing him up.
And even though Eren won the match, the Black Contract means you ain't gonna get a Golden Ticket, which was a smartass rule that Armin did to spite Byakuya at the beginning of this year. A victory in defeat type of deal.
The Diamond Championship: Three Acts Match
The Diamond Championship has been the Top Championship all year long, since I had major plans for it because of the Pressure Rule, the Jackpot Match, the Final Warfare Match, and finally the Three Acts Match. This is The Championship to compete for. I finally got the chance to write a great reign for one of my titles. The Men's World Championship is the best run of Championship matches I could have written, the Diamond Championship is second to it. And I can't believe that I had managed to make this belt to be the one that has main evented the Wembley Stadium show, while every other belt has rough roads and paths on getting here, but the Diamond Championship, it was a miracle that everything went according to plan.
The moment I heard Hazbin Hotel's "Stayed Gone" song, I immediately can picture Blake being Vox while Charlie is Alastor because it's such a perfect song to describe both of these women's rivalry. While the second song choice would've been "Hell's Greatest Dad" with Charlie as Lucifer and Blake as Alastor. Either song would work. And after I heard that song, I said to myself, "Blake vs. Charlie 3 at the Festival".
It was a coin toss between this and the Xiao Long Sisters on who would end up main eventing Night 1 because I wanted to tell this dramatic family story from the Xiao Longs, but Blake-Charlie feud has been PWA main story ever since the Pilot. So it could've gone either or while Mamoru vs. Eren is the scheduled Night 2 main event, and Byakuya vs. Joey is the planned Night 3 main event, this was gonna be a tough decision until Broken Eclipse where Charlie got herself disqualified. And the moment I knew how Ruby is gonna retain her Championship over her other screwed over Challengers, it's gonna be Charlie to win the Diamond Championship at Global Warfare. And Blake has been foiled by Charlie in some way, like being eliminated in the Patterson Classic, and blocked Blake from leaving the arena with the World Championship at SMMR Stampede. And at first, before Dragon Star, Blake was gonna win the Collision Course Match or the Declaration of War Match, which she did, in order to challenge for the Diamond Championship. It has to be a simple one-on-one match, but Dragon Star kind of made me realize that if Charlie defended there, then it would turn into a Triple Threat Match, so I reverted back to the original prize on winning the special attraction matches with a contracted winner. When the Togami-Wheeler match didn't go smoothly, I pushed this match to be the main event of Wembley Stadium instead of them. They took second billing to it though.
The Three Acts Match is the original planned match for last year's Global Warfare where Blake and Charlie were gonna compete over the Women's World Championship. Blake was the originally booked first World Champion who's been in this Reign of Terror role, while Charlie, who Yang was gonna injured to prolong the match and let the Golden Ticket time expired after Global Warfare, but Charlie and Blake got to have their match finally. And like how the match was, it was gonna be like that. It's a single's match, a street fight, and the Final Warfare match. Since it was in Global Warfare, I just called it as such. The finish of the match, it was gonna have Blake trying to escape the ceiling cage by a ladder, but Charlie pushed it to let Blake go through the tables in the other ring, then made the cover for the win.
The aftermath is something else too, because the aftermath of that originally planned story, Blake was the one who orders Yang to cut her hair at Dreamwork, which was supposed to be the in-between event of Warfare and Festival at the time. After losing the match against Ruby Rose & Maka Albarn as Tag Champions at the time, and Weiss & Gina who were representing the Victorian Empire, in a triple threat contest. And Yang was gonna propose to Blake, who would accept if Yang cut her hair. Then at Night 3, to spite Charlie who was gonna compete against Korra, to have the Bumblebee Wedding, but only became a ruse and was written out of PWA as the result. That was the plan before the RT controversy had changed it all a year prior to this originally planned storyline.
I had waited for nearly over a year for this match to happen. I didn't know if Blake and Charlie would compete against each other, but it is a miracle that I got to write this match. The finish is something else, because I never had the plan on making Charlie hold onto that belt too long.
As for Blake? If Eren Jaeger is the Final Boss of the Men's Division, then Blake Belladonna is the Ultimate Villain of the Women's Division. From the Beginning Arc to the end of the All In Arc, I was gonna dub it as the Blake Saga, she's been the main villain of the Women's Division. Before Asuna had to pick it up after she was gone after the RT controversy, Asuna had been the main villain of the Women's Division, Asuna has been the Triple Threat Queen by been competing exclusively in triple threat contests for the past three years until 4ever where she's been part of the Trio Match for the Women's World Tag Team Championship.
After Blake came back, the goal is now to make her the Diamond Champion, while trying to chase down the World Championship. Blake is an egomaniac, a manipulative sociopath who will use anyone to get what she wants. And Charlie is literally the opposite to her, willingly to fight for others. She can take a few losses and still stand up even if it's a losing fight, while Blake will throw a tantrum and find a way to put the blame onto others. These two were destined to be polar opposites to each other in PWA.
I may have forgotten to add this in Yang's promo, but I'll say it here; "whenever they hug, there's a genuine smile from Yang while there's a manipulative grin coming from Blake". Blake sees Yang as nothing more than a walking tool, a dumb blonde like Sun without the snipping, and a more controlling brute than Adam.
Charlie is a person who never wants to be violent to anyone till she has been pushed, and Blake seems to be the one who pushes her buttons more than once. Adora, the American Cult Leader never made her cross those lines. She was never bummed out from the Collision Course or the Patterson Classic. She's just pure till she hasn't too. Charlie is the embodiment of what a good person is supposed to be while Blake is sneering at the idea of that. Charlie is everything Blake isn't. Everything that Blake preaches but Charlie practices it. Blake is a plot lazy character, while Charlie is around the plot of itself.
Now the way Charlie lost the Diamond Championship, it was always gonna be Blake winning the match with help, because it's the heelish way to win. Here's the sad truth about faces as Champions, they're more memorable on winning the belt than their reign with it, because you need to find a perfect balance as a face Champion. Erza is meant to hold onto this belt till the Festival? Makes sense. Goku holding onto the World Championship till his retirement is great for the story. Both Joey and Marinette as the inaugural secondary Champions have been great. Sometimes, there's just moments like DOA, the Schnee Sisters, Owen & Rosemary winning the Tag Team Championships, they were there for the moment rather than the reign. And Charlie reign would've been a small reign with one or two more title defense before the dropping point. So Blake was a better option, because a heel Champion is always more interesting since they're the spice on the meat, you want to see their downfall. Face Champions are the sizzle, and Heel Champions are the steak to their reigns. The moments for Faces, the reign for Heels.
Blake joining a group is one of the ideas I wanted to do for the longest time, since the Beginning Arc. Before the American Rhodes Church, there was gonna be a group called the Blake Society, an extreme Woke organization, but I didn't know who would be involved with it. But I had multiple choices here for Blake to join in a group, but I believe I chose the perfect one. Pun intended. If it was with the ARC, I would have morphed it into the original planned Blake Society. Global Economy? She would have usurped Togami as leader, the same way Weiss was gonna usurp Ciel as the leader of the Victorian Empire and turned it into the Blitzkrieg. Blake being in PERFECTION since they're like the plastics from Mean Girls.
As I was writing the match itself, I was watching the highlights of HHH vs. HBK Armageddon 3 Stages of Hell Match, and Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker Lights Out/Steel Cage Matches, for my references. The thumbtacks were from the Chicago Street Fight between Willow vs. Kris from All Out, and HHH vs. Cactus Jack from the Royal Rumble. I wanted all three main event matches to be different while trying to limit the amount of weapons for each match.
Hopefully I can continue on making the PWA Diamond, and all other Championships in PWA to be the most desirable, and everything will be cracked up to Fifth Gear.
The Spinoff Wrestling FanFics
All year long, I had the idea of rebooting the PWA brand and into something else. And there were two brands I actually considered for the rebranding, and became something else. Alongside with potential Championships for these brands.
Shonen Jump brand
When I did Dragon Star, I had considered that Shonen Jump had enough of a roster to host their brand. The downside? It has to be Shonen Jump exclusive, meaning other series have to be left behind while the Shonen Jump brand will take full launch. No Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, She-Ra, and any other series that aren't part of Shonen Jump or Shonen Jump Plus.
This company would be called; Jump Pro Wrestling (JPW)
The authority figure would've been Son Goku as the president.
This roster would be mostly considered heavily on the men, since Shonen is a male demographic, while there would be some women's roster but will be down to a limited number unlike the men where it'll be heavily featured. And like how I treat the anthropomorphic characters, they will be humanized since it will be odd to see them in a wrestling ring.
This company would be a 7 event series, based around the Dragon Balls with naming subtitles, then rinse and repeat with the Seventh Star serving as the Grand Event, a Tokyo Dome show.
-First Star: New Year Journey
-Second Star: n/a
-Third Star: n/a
-Fourth Star: n/a
-Fifth Star: n/a
-Sixth Star: Final Dash
-Seventh Star: Grand Wish
I couldn't come up with the other names, but it would be themed after that.
This new company would be something simple and even the Championships;
-Grand (Star/Dragon) Championship
-Double (Star/Dragon) Championship
-Triple (Star/Dragon) Championship
-Bright (Star/Dragon) Championship
I made these belts to be more to a nod towards Dragongate Japan Pro Wrestling company, and wanted to name them after either the Dragons or the Stars, at least up to the number seven.
The Bright Championship is the undercard/opening slot Championship for newer anime series to break out while the main series will compete for the Grand Championship as the main event slot. The Bright Star Championship would be more similar to the Diamond Dozen Ring, where we have a battle royal but only two will survive and get to compete for the Championship. Or the other match would be something I recall which I kind of like from WWE, the Elimination Chase Match where whoever gets pinned is out in the next match, and this will continue till we have one winner.
The Double Championships is just a simple tag team championship with a simple tag team tournament.
while the Triple Championship is much more of a mixed tag team trios match with a trios tournament named the Big Three Tournament, named after the original Big Three but also modelled after the always trio of two men, and one woman. The main character, the rival, and the girl. The Big Three Tournament will be four matches in total, round one will be a triple threat trios match, and the finals will be another triple threat trios match for the Triple Championships.
The Grand Star Tournament on the other hand, this will be something I recall seeing from Lucha Underground's Gift of the Gods Championships where they had Seven Medallions, and I said to myself, what if I can do that but with Dragon Balls? So the idea of the Grand Championship will be like that, just minus the Cash-In Rule. Seven wrestlers get to compete for the Championship.
And by the end of the Grand Wish, whoever hold onto their Championships will be given, in kayfabe since I don't know how cash money prize would be handled here in a wrestling environment since I'm just used on seeing a big cash check as a prop for the camera, but a huge sum of money, so let say $50,000 USD for the Grand Champion; $25,000 USD each for the Double Champions; $20,000 USD each for the Men's Triple Champions while the girl will only get $10,000 USD; and the Bright Star Champion will be getting the $25,000 USD prize. So in total, it would be worth $175,000 of a prize money, split to the prestige of the belts.
And the new year will be rinse and repeat but with Champions continue on as Champions and occasionally defend their belts in these events.
Another match idea would be the Universal Battle Royal with the idea of a tournament battle royal finals. This is also a team tournament with the finals featuring a 25-men, 5-team finals.
This was an idea, but it wasn't the first idea that came to mind for a wrestling promotion. Actually, it would've been the next section as my first choice.
RWBY wrestling brand
RWBY was gonna have their own wrestling promotion, and unlike Jump Pro Wrestling, it would be a female heavily run company. And yes, RWBY would've been featured in Jump Pro Wrestling, but I doubt all of the women competitors would've been heavily involved. Maybe the Universal Finals would be Team RWBY; Adam Taurus, Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Oscar Pine, & Ruby Rose.
Since RWBY would be having their own brand, it would be akin to Indie Wrestling style with the Hammerstein Ballroom serving as their grand event. And thankfully for NXT doing a show in the ECW arena, and AEW did that one show in Texas for their tapings, I go do something like that as the shows.
Speaking of shows, it would be more of a seasonal thing, maybe eight shows at best, but I wouldn't know which show will be the grand event though, but since the Vytal Festival is RWBY main event, so I was thinking of adding a ninth event, and it would be this. But I wouldn't know where to place this one, and my only reference is the show and it happens during the Fall Season.
I was stuck on these names for RWBY; Remnant Pro Wrestling, or Vytal Championship Wrestling, but I went with the latter since it's about the Vytal Festival, then why not have a brand named after that.
As for the belts, I had some ideas for it;
VCW Championship
VCW Tag Team Championship
VCW Men's Championship
Again this was gonna be a female heavily brand with the men's matches will be here and there. But there was an Indie promotion called Chikara Pro Wrestling, and they had only two belts of a Trios and a World Championship, and their gimmick is that Trios is their main attraction. And RWBY attraction is their Quartet groups. So the belts will be the Quartet, and World Championships. But I was thinking of just doing the simple; one main championship for both men's and women's, and one tag team championship for both. Just a simple four belt system.
Then I thought about doing intergender matches too, never been too much into that stuff, but it was only an idea that has been tossed around in my mind.
The Vytal Festival Tournament would be just the same as the All In Tournament where it starts in a singles match, then the quarterfinals will be the tag team matches, semifinals are the trios match, and the finals is the quartet match. I did think of doing it a four way, but scrapped it due to the amount of repeat teams I would have to write in. So a simple two team final will be used.
Another Tournament idea would've been the TNA World X-Cup style which coincidentally is a 4-team, 4 person teams in three round matches of; singles, tag teams, and trios matches. I would have called it the Vytal Cup Tournament, to pay tribute to the World X-Cup. But the World X-Cup round three are just dumping matches where all the participants are in it.
The main World Championships would be different though, since the Maidens are a thing in the show, so the tournament finals for the Women's Championship would be a four way contest, while the Men's might have a simple two finalists setting.
Each Seasonal Event would be "Vytal" something with the Fall Season being the Grand Event with the titled "Vytal Festival" while the other three Vytal events will serve as the Vytal Tournament matches with breathing room for story telling, but I might favor the Vytal Cup Tournament though with a 2 block system.
My goal was to be on an equal standing with the RWBY Tubers since I'm not one, and I don't plan on being one due to the voice cracking and the technical knowhow. But I can say that if a RWBY Tuber does do a wrestling event, like mine, it would get more views than my PWA.
Final notes
I didn't want to go on with these reboots, because PWA is gonna continue, but for how long? I don't know, just till I feel like my hard work has finally paid off. I'm an old dog of 32, and I believe the old fashion way of thinking that if my writing is good enough, I can be found out on how good my talents are.
Granted, it would make things easier for me and for my mental state due to these one card events, but it's that drive of wanting to be recognized for all the hard work I put myself into this story. I mean, I put up 11 Events, 20 Chapters worth of wrestling. Excluding 3, have a 2 nighter while the Festival has the third night setting.
Originally, this year was still a 2 nighter, but if SMMR Stampede and Dragon Star had to be involved this year, it would be a 9 event year with 18 chapters, Champion's Capital and the third night of the Festival. Regardless, this is my most challenging year as a writer. And here are the states of each year;
Sky High Arc: 11 Events & 20 Chapters
All In Arc: 12 Events & 17 Chapters
World Championship Tournament Arc: 10 Events & 13 Chapters
Beginning Arc: 14 Events & 15 Chapters
The reason why I'm making each Event smaller is because each event will be held in two chapters. Personally, I believe it's more of an organizing system. With the original 9 events scheduled with 19 chapters on it. But I dropped it down for a 18 chapter event since Champion's Capital was just a single chapter event. Still though, 18 Chapters just for nine events is mentally draining, but it's a price to pay whenever you write these sorts of things.
Hoping, I can cut down an event, to put my mental stress to ease. The only thing that should be double digits is the chapters, hell, doing 5 events would still result in 10 to 11 chapters. But right now, I'm currently making up the Festival card, the potential matches at least. I operate in backwards planning. Put them all in their respective nights, and decide on which one will be the Championship matches for Night 3. Granted, like each year, there will be card changes as you all figure out throughout this Facts Chapter.
After each passing month, and after each passing event, my mind will change for whatever the plan from was to be to what will be then finally on what have they become.
Truth be told, I'm not watching a lot of anime these days, and I just pick out characters for their popularity or their uniqueness. I mostly rely on the shows I had watched, but if I do need something, I could just watch a few clips, in dub actually and I'll occasionally watch it in sub.
Speaking of something I watched, at one point, I did want to do a Star Wars event, or group, or just characters as invites. But like I did with Louis, I had to humanize them by giving them actual human skin tones. Like at the early beginning, I did think of Ahsoka Tano, or a tag team of Ahsoka Tano & Barriss Offee. That was gonna be the idea, but I favor Lux Bonteri instead.
Do I have any thoughts of ending the series? Of course I do. Monthly. You gotta be a mad bastard like me in order to take up a mentally stressed toll upon oneself.
Would I ever do a future collaboration? I doubt it, but I had an offer a couple years back but it was for a show I don't really know about, so I declined it. But if I had to do a future collaboration, I guess I could see what their work is, but no promises on matching their work since it's their style. But I believe in invites too, since that's part of my old school thinking, since being invited means you have been seen as a potential collaborator. I don't send invites since I can manage PWA on my own, but I'm always open for ideas or thoughts in the comment sections or reviews.
I do have other projects to work on, actually, I had been neglecting my Wicked Magical Girl series, and currently on my third draft of Balto Grey. Pro Wrestling of Animation is my first real creation, I feel like I'm obligated to provide it first. But I'm willing to destroy myself, my own mindset in order to prove my worth as a writer. Since I don't have anyone to worry for me, I'll stop till I'm dead or finally reach that point of worth.
Do I have goals outside of PWA? As a writer, yes. And it's just as a writer, I want to publish my own stories and books. Compete in a few writing contests, because I love the thrill of a competition. That's why I see most RWBY Tubers as rivals or competitors, I'm driven by the idea of standing on equal footing.
But if I would take a job of something wrestling based? Well, creative of course. Being part of creative. And what brand? WWE seems like a leap and I'm actually too small to go for it, and besides, they seem to have plenty of writers and creatives to come up with their storylines. AEW? If so, I would like to go down to ROH since I can learn the know-how and how to operate a company. And coming up with smaller storylines, and see what I can do on a smaller scale. Like PWA, I would put focus on ROH: Final Battle, then the supercards/PPVs would be down to a limit. 4 PPVs, and four to six Supercards, maybe iPPVs that can be sold on a network subscription for those supercards. But that would held up in business meetings and business planning, alongside with network negotiations alongside with the PPV distributors. And you need to show them your numbers and business expensive, alongside with your side income, such as wrestling stores to show how popular you really are as a brand. But I never understood that part of business, since I'm far more interested in the creative aspects of wrestling.
I'm glad you all decided to stay for this long of me rambling on. I've been writing Pro Wrestling of Animation (PWA) for five years now, ever since the Pilot. I've been looking forward to new challenges as a writer, and with the help of this story, I have managed to find my passion for writing again. If I'm being honest here, I would like to take a one year plan vacation from all this, but my mind is still working, so it means I'm not completely brain dead yet, so I gotta keep working till it finally decides to give out.
This is Mr. Leaf Canary, signing off.
