Chapter Two: The Lunar Awakening
Alex Baliton sat on the edge of the Animarium's floating island, staring down at the vast expanse of wilderness below. The revelation from the day before still echoed in his mind—he was the son of Merrick Baliton, the legendary Lunar Wolf Ranger. But what did that mean for him?
Behind him, Kari approached cautiously, her Forest Stag emblem shimmering in the sunlight. "You've been up here for hours."
"I just… don't know what to do with this." Alex clenched his fists. "I didn't ask for this legacy."
Kari sat beside him. "None of us asked for the Orgs to return, either. But here we are."
As if on cue, an explosion erupted in the distance. The skies darkened, and the familiar, bone-chilling roar of an Org split the air.
Ryan's voice crackled over their communicators. "Guys, we've got a situation—something big just came through the valley."
Alex and Kari exchanged a glance before racing toward the scene. As they arrived, Luna and Koneko were already engaged in battle with a hulking, armored Org with glowing red eyes. General Duskfang, a wolf-like Org wreathed in dark energy, loomed over them.
"So, you're the so-called heir of the Lunar Wolf?" Duskfang sneered, his fangs glistening. "You're not even worth the hunt."
Alex's hands trembled, but something inside him stirred—an instinctual pull. The Wolf Morpher at his belt pulsed with silver light. He had no choice. If he ran now, the Orgs would destroy everything.
Taking a deep breath, Alex pressed the morpher's activation switch. "Wild Access!"
A surge of silver energy engulfed him, and in an instant, he stood clad in the Lunar Wolf Ranger armor. The power coursing through him was overwhelming but familiar, as if it had been waiting for him all along.
Duskfang snarled. "So you do have your father's power. Let's see if you can wield it!"
The battle erupted. Alex dodged Duskfang's savage strikes, his instincts guiding him through the fight. The rest of the team backed him up, coordinating their attacks. Koneko struck from the shadows, Luna launched precise energy blasts, and Kari and Ryan delivered heavy blows. Yet, Duskfang seemed unphased, as if merely toying with them.
Alex knew what he had to do. Channeling his energy, he summoned the Moon Fang Sabers and slashed forward in a brilliant arc of silver light. Duskfang howled in pain, staggering back.
"This isn't over," the Org growled before vanishing into the shadows.
As the dust settled, Alex lowered his weapons, his heart pounding. He had taken the first step toward embracing his legacy.
Kari clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Looks like you do know what to do with this legacy after all."
Alex let out a breath and smirked. Maybe she was right. The battle was far from over, but for the first time, he felt ready to fight.
