Chapter 27: The Fall of Magix

We find ourselves at the front gates of Gardenia when Bloom and Stella returned.
As a roar echoes Bloom looks to see Cloudjumper land nearby.
"Cloudjumper." Bloom smiles as the dragon growls at her. "I know I'm sorry I left you behind. I was scared and I should have given you a proper goodbye. I hope you can forgive me someday."
Walking up to him, Bloom strokes its wing making the dragon smile.
Bending down Cloudjumper nuzzles her.
"Well the dragon may have forgiven you but don't forget your human friends." Stella reminds.
"Right." Turning to Cloudjumper, she pets him. "I gotta go, but I'll be back."
Roaring happily Cloudjumper took off back to the others.
"You guys didn't give him to Ragnar?" Bloom asks.
"Let's just say we were all hoping you would come back before we had to make that call." Stella said.
"I'm glad you did." Bloom said.
Leading Bloom back up to their room, as Stella opens the door Flora hears the noise.
Still in her pajamas, she peeks her head out and sees Bloom and Stella walk in.
Turning on the lights, Bloom winced at the brightness.
"Bloom you're back!" Flora gasps running over. "We were so worried about you."
Hearing this Musa and Tecna come out and smile happy to see her again.
Popping her head out Mirta was equally happy to see her.
"Bloom." All of them smile walking over.
"I'm so happy to see you all again." Bloom said.
"You don't look happy." Musa notices. "What happened?"
"Indeed." Griselda said appearing by the door.
Yelping Mirta quickly went back to hiding before she was spotted.
"That's what Farragonda and I would like to know." Griselda said.
Seeing Bloom owed them an explanation too, she complied.
In Farragonda's office, Bloom sat across from Farragond as Griselda poured tea.
"Here drink this." She said offering Bloom a cup.
"Alright then, would you like to tell me what happened, Bloom?" Farragonda asks.
"I went back to Gardenia, Ma'am. I-I didn't feel like I was good enough for this school." Bloom admits.
"Oh Bloom." Farragonda frowns.
"It was a hard journey but useful. Now I know who I am, and what my purpose is. Or was, rather." Bloom frowns.
"What do you mean?" Farragonda asks.
"I found out the truth, and it's horrible. I'm the last Princess of Domino, Ma'am! The Keeper of the Dragon Flame. That's why my sister, Daphne the Nymph separated me and my twin brother and why she gave me that crown at Lake Roccaluce. That crown was the symbol for which she sacrificed her life. She sacrificed herself for us and I don't even know where he is." Bloom said tearing up.
"But you embody that symbol." Farragonda said surprising her.
"You knew this whole time? Why didn't you tell me?" Bloom asks outraged.
"Bloom, sometimes the search for the truth is more important than the truth itself. If I'd told you earlier, you wouldn't have been able to understand." Farragonda explains.
"So you're saying it was better to learn through the three witches?" Bloom asks.
"What witches? What do you mean?" Farragonda asks.
"Icy, Darcy, and Stormy followed me to Gardenia and took away the power I was meant to protect. The Dragon Flame is in their hands. Those three witches are no mere students. A strange light shines in their eyes. They're crazy, ma'am. Crazy like the three old witches who destroyed Domino way back when." Bloom declares shocking Farragonda and Griselda. "And now, what's going to happen?"
"I don't know. But this doesn't bode well for Magix." Farragonda said standing up and walking to the window.
"And what about my brother? How am I supposed to find him? For all we know he could be in danger too?" Bloom asks.
"Life finds a way Bloom, especially for the things that matter the most." Farragonda said.
As Bloom walked out Griselda turned to her.
"A twin? As if one Bloom is hard enough. There's a boy version of her out there?" Griselda asks.
"Yes and for the sake of Magix, he might have to learn his past soon as well." Farragonda said.
Meanwhile, at Red Fountain, we see Ragnar in his room putting the finishing touches on something.
"Hmm where's that wrench?" Reaching around Ragnar tried to find it when something handed it to him. "Oh thanks…wait."
Looking up he sees the Hobgobbler next to him startling him.
"You again?" Ragnar said as the little dragon walked along his feet and rubbed against him.
Ever since he had saved the little dragon from being brought to Drago the little guy was so grateful, he practically followed Ragnar everywhere.
"Just sit back little guy. I just need to finish the final touches." Ragnar said
Slowly pulling back we see Ragnar had fixed the Inferno blade looking good as new. (Google Superherotimefan Inferno Sword)
Picking it up, Ragnar clicks it and a flaming sword popped out.
"Honestly I would love to shake the hand of whoever created this." Ragnar smiles before turning it off.
Strapping it to his belt across from his Anti-Magic sword, he made his way out with the Hobgobbler scurrying behind him.
Ever since he learned the truth about Drago and the dragons, Ragnar has been a little jumpy.
The man whom he trusted as his mentor was nothing more than a monster who just used him to gather dragons for him.
Lost in his thoughts he suddenly felt a tap.
Yelping Ragnar snaps out of his thoughts and grabs his sword.
Swinging around he sees Toothless jump back startled.
"Oh Toothless?" Ragnar gasps putting the Anti-Magic sword away.
Roaring concerned Toothless tilted his head asking him what was wrong.
"Sorry buddy, guess I'm a little jumpy right now." Ragnar said taking a deep breath.
Slowly walking up to him Toothless bumps him from the side trying to snap him out of it.
"I'm sorry, so far things have just gone from one crazy thing to another. And these extra dragons we've been rescuing have me running every which way but loose." Ragnar said.
Seeing he needed to cool off, Toothless knocks Ragnar to the ground.
"Hey what's the big—" Before Ragnar could finish Toothless began licking his face. "Aagh come on man!" Ragnar said as Toothless got him. "Really? More licking?"
As Toothless burst into laughter, Ragnar suddenly felt another tongue.
Looking up he saw the Hobbgobbler licking his cheek as well.
Instantly Ragnar burst into laughter feeling a little better.
"How do you keep sneaking up on me? Am I gonna have to put a bell on you?" Ragnar asks picking the little dragon off him.
Growling softly, Toothless ordered the Hobgobbler to leave.
Jumping off, the Hobgobbler looks at Ragnar one last time before scurrying off to who knows where.
"I tell you Toothless you dragons are so confusing sometimes." Ragnar said while Toothless just chuckled. "I mean it you guys are almost pets. When we're down you instantly know what we need but you can also protect us. You got tons of different sides to you just like…just like people." Ragnar realized.
"Hilarious Ragnar, dragons like people?" Leaning against the wall, Ragnar and Toothless saw Riven behind him.
"Says the guy who turned his back on his own dragon." Ragnar points out.
"Whatever, it's a giant useless reptile. It's not like I ever needed him." Riven said.
"Riven if you would stop thinking so highly of yourself for 5 seconds, you'd realize how wrong you are." Ragnar said.
"Yeah keep telling yourself that." Riven said walking away.
"The day you do realize that, I might give you your dragon back." Ragnar calls out.
"I don't need your pity." Riven said before disappearing from view.
Growling frustrated Toothless hated these conversations with him.
"Yeah Toothless I'm with you." Ragnar agrees.
Smiling softly, Ragnar pets Toothless on the forehead.
At least no matter what Ragnar did know some people in his life he could trust and Toothless was definitely one of them.
Meanwhile, at Cloud Tower, it was meal time and as all the students and faculty were eating Icy, Stormy, Darcy and their dragons made their way in much to everyone's surprise.
"What are you three doing here? This is my school and I won't let you wreak havoc in here!" Appearing above them Headmistress Griffin fires a spell at them trapping them in a green barrier.
Smirking Icy uses her magic to turn the barrier to ice before breaking it into shards and sending the shards flying at Griffin sending her crashing through a table.
"Miss Griffin!" Two teachers said running to her aid.
"Your behavior is unacceptable!" One snaps.
"And what are you gonna do? Give us detention?" Stormy mocks.
Using her powers Stormy made a giant tornado that sent all the students flying.
Spreading their wings, the Snow Wraith and Wind Striker flew through the storm and struck the teachers sending them flying through the windows.
As Griffin sees all her students in peril, she uses her magic to stop them from falling.
Teleporting behind Icy she was about to attack when Darcy's Changewing appeared in front of her and swung its tail knocking her into the wall.
Holding up her hands Icy froze Griffin where she stood preventing her from retaliating.
"In case you haven't gotten it yet, Miss Griffin, we're in charge now." Icy smirks.
"Witches of Cloud Tower, listen up!" Stormy calls out.
"We are about to effect several changes around here." Darcy said.
"And if you don't like it, by all means, speak up." Stormy said.
"We're open to criticism." Darcy said as their dragons growled making all of them nervous.
Soon all the students were gathered together while Griffin and her staff were trapped in giant bubbles.
"Griffin, you and your students have just earned yourselves a nice vacation in the damp snake and rat-infested dungeons of Cloud Tower. What? You're not happy? How ungrateful." Icy mocks.
"You rat!" Griffin hisses.
"If you think you'll get away with this, you're wrong!" One teacher said.
"Oh, yeah, we all saw how you can stop us. It was very impressive." Icy laughs.
"You're making a big mistake! You're crazy!" Griffin declares.
"Crazy? Really? Well, Miss Griffin, I dare you to say that again." Icy glares and when Griffin saw the look in her eyes she falls back.
"They're mad!" Griffin said.
"Now, we will go down into the castle crypt, where the most evil spells are kept, and we'll call forth the Army of Darkness." Stormy declares.
"You can't! No one's ever been able to control the Army of Darkness. It will cause total destruction!" Griffin said trying to stop them.
"Oh really?" Icy said interested.
Meanwhile back at Alfea, we see Farragonda with her instructors speaking with Headmaster Saladin.
"Why are you so worried? These young witches aren't proficient yet. They certainly won't know how to use the power of the Dragon Flame." Saladin assures.
"Perhaps, but what they lack in experience, they make up for in power and ruthlessness." Farragonda warns.
"I also need one more thing from you." Farragonda said getting his attention. "I need you to send one of your students over right away."
"Which one?" Saladin asks.
"I think you know who I mean." Farragonda said.
Nodding Saladin hung up.
"And what about Miss Griffin? What does she have to say?" Whizgiz asks.
"No one is answering at Cloud Tower. And that worries me. Let's wait a bit before making any decisions." Farragonda said.
In the Winx's room, we see everyone sitting around Bloom.
"I'm a mess. I was unable to use my power when I needed it most, and now the whole magic dimension is in serious jeopardy. I've got to do something, but what? I mean, I've lost my powers. I'm not a fairy. I'm not anything anymore." Bloom said hugging Kiko.
The girls wanted to help her but honestly, they had no idea what to say or do. Suddenly Stella's phone began to ring getting her attention.
At Red Fountain we see Sky holding his phone with Ragnar at his side for support.
"Okay buddy you can do this. It's just like when you fixed things with me." Ragnar encouraged.
"Let's hope so." Sky said when he heard an answer. "Hi, Stella? May I speak to Bloom? Of course. No problem. I'll wait. She can't? Oh."
"Oof what happened?" Ragnar asks.
"She won't even talk to me." Sky said.
"You'll figure this out Sky. I hope." Ragnar said.
"Yeah me too." Sky said as they walked away.
Little did they know Riven saw this.
"Rejected by his little fairy. Darcy will be happy to hear this." Riven snickers hopping on his wind rider and taking off.
Arriving at Cloud Tower, Riven races up the hill when Darcy calls out to him.
"Riven! Over here!" Darcy said waving from Griffin's office.
Pulling up alongside it, Riven climbs in.
"What's going on here? Since when does Griffin let you use her office?" Riven asks and instantly the Trix burst into laughter.
"Since we took it from here." Stormy said as they continued their evil laughter.
"What do you mean? I don't know what you've done, but I really don't like what's going on around here." Riven said getting an uneasy feeling.
"Oh, Riven. You're still in the dark, aren't you?" Stormy asks running a finger along his cheek and her nail scratches him leaving a mark. "But rest assured, you were fundamental to our success."
Floating in the air, the Trix surrounded him.
"We couldn't have done it without your help." Darcy said.
"Your spying skills made all the difference in our power struggle with the fairies. You even shook your Specialists friends up." Icy said.
Eyes widening Riven gasped realizing his old teammates were telling him the truth all this time.
"Can't you see she's using you? She's not your friend!" Sky's voice rang in his head.
"You're a part of this squad. We would let you come back if you would just apologize." Timmy's voice rang in his head.
"If you would stop always thinking you were better than us than you might realize how much of a mistake this is." Brandon's voice rang in his head.
"I really thought you and I were close to being friends...guess I was wrong." Ragnar's voice rang in his head.
With each memory it was like a dagger, if Riven had listened to them than he would have seen this coming.
"No! You've tricked me! Curses on you!" Riven said drawing his sword.
Laughing the Trix made a dark vortex under his feet but Riven jumped out of the way.
"You snakes! Hookfa—" Pausing Riven realized Hookfang wasn't with him.
No one was there to help him, he had pushed his friends and dragons away.
As regret filled his body, Riven tried attacking the Trix but they avoided all his attacks with ease.
With glowing eyes, the Trix made their attack.
"Sphere of Oblivion!" Throwing a sphere to the ground darkness surrounded the entire room.
Riven looked around to try and find a way out but when he turned to face the Trix he saw that they were gigantic.
He tried to attack them but none of his attacks did anything.
Cackling the Trix held out their hands and a bright light engulfs Riven.
When the light dies down we see Riven was gone and the Trix were sitting together in meditative stances.
"The power we've been hungering after for so long is now ours. We'll begin the conquest at Cloud Tower. Then, the whole magic dimension." Icy declares as dark clouds filled the skies and black rain poured down.
But when the drops hit the ground monstrous creatures made of dark magic appeared.
From inside, Knut and Icy's duck saw the creatures swarm and instantly both were terrified.
"Rise up, Creatures of the Dark. As your rulers, we command it." Icy orders as the army of darkness took several forms each one as horrible and monstrous as the last. "So what do you think of our army, sisters? The moment of truth has come at last."
As dark clouds filled the skies over Alfea and Red Fountain everyone was curious about what was happening.
At Alfea, the Winx and Mirta looked out the window.
"Hey look it's about to rain." Tecna said as black rain poured down and all the students ran in horror as the army of darkness appeared.
"What kind of rain is that?!" Mirta panics.
As some came crawling up their window Stella panicked and blasted them destroying the window in the process.
"Sorry it's a reflex." Stella apologized when the door opened revealing Prof. Palladium.
"Everybody, let's get out of here! The school's under attack!" Palladium said when he noticed Mirta. "Who are you?"
"Uh long story but we don't have time." Mirta cringed seeing she was busted.
"Very well. Let's go!" He said leading them out.
Running outside, the students look horror to see the creatures coming from all over.
From their sanctuary, Crystal, Cloudjumper, Siren, Lagoon, Windshear and Bolt saw the creatures and flew in to help.
Roaring the girls looked to see the dragons descend down and breathe fire, lightning, and boiling water at the creatures.
"This is a total invasion. We've got to fight back!" Tecna said as Musa crushed one with her foot.
"Let's send these critters back to where they came from!" Musa said.
"But I can't help." Bloom said.
"You might not be able to fight but there's another way you can help." Stella said pointing to Cloudjumper who was roaring at the top of his lungs and flinging the creatures away.
Nodding Bloom ran to Cloudjumper.
"Hey I need a hand." Bloom said.
Nodding Cloudjumper lowered itself so Bloom could climb on.
"Alright Cloudjumper I'm counting on you." Bloom said as Kiko climbed onto Cloudjumper's head and pointed as if it was saying attack.
Roaring Cloudjumper flapped his wings and took to the sky.
Transforming into their winx forms the other girls flew in and joined the battle.
Flying around Musa released a powerful blast of magic as Siren released her melodious melody drawing the creatures in.
Spinning her staff Stella and Tecna blast the gathered creatures.
As Flora makes giant vines shoot out Lagoon and Windshear rip them apart with their teeth and claws.
Running to Bolt, Mirta hopped on his back.
"You ready Bolt?" Mirta asks as Bolt roars. "Let's light'em up!"
All over the school fights were breaking out as students and faculty struggled to keep control.
Running to Farragonda's office, Griselda swings open the door to see she was talking to Saladin again.
"They've swarmed the East Wing. Now, they're headed for the laboratories." Griselda warns.
"Did you hear that, Saladin? Those creatures are taking over Alfea." Farragonda said.
"The situation here at Red Fountain isn't much better. The entire magic dimension is in great peril! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go and help my boys." Saladin said hanging up.
At Red Fountain, the fights were getting intense as all the students were fighting the dark monsters.
On the upper level, Ragnar saw one coming toward him.
As it swung its claws, Ragnar raised his sword and upon contact the creature's arm was disintegrated.
Screeching in pain, it dissolved into the magic that made it.
Pausing Ragnar looks at his anti-magic sword.
"Wait if these things are made of magic that means this can." Ragnar grins seeing a weak point.
Jumping off the edge, Ragnar activated his metal wings and flew in.
As Sky was slashing one away Skullcrusher charged in and rammed it into the wall.
"Good boy." Sky smiles as his dragon smiles in thanks.
Nearby Timmy fired multiple blasts at one but it wasn't doing enough damage.
Flying in Meatlug and Hookfang released powerful fire attacks destroying it.
Flicking her spikes, Stormfly stabbed multiple monsters when Barf and Belch released a cloud of gas before lighting it causing an explosion.
Swinging a double-edged spear, Brandon sliced multiple monsters in half with ease.
From above Toothless divebombed in and released multiple plasma blasts destroying multiple monsters.
Nearby Ragnar dives in and stabs a monster with his wings ripping it in half.
Taking a deep breath Ragnar released his fire breath melting one into ash.
As one was about to come up behind him, Sleuther impales it with his tail.
"Good job! Now go help the others." Ragnar said as Sleuther nodded in understanding.
Panting heavily Ragnar looks to see the wave of monsters didn't seem to show any sign of stopping.
Suddenly a ship flew in and stopped over sky.
As the door opens we see Diaspro and several guards arrive.
"Prince Sky! We've come to get you!" Diaspro calls out dropping a rope for him to grab onto.
"What?" Sky said confused.
"We've come to get you out of here! You must save yourself, my prince!" Disapro said.
"We're fighting to save the dimension! My place is here!" Sky said fighting off a monster.
"Don't be silly, you're a prince! Let these peasants fight for you!" Disarpo said.
Looking up at her, Sky could only glare in anger not believing how selfish she really was.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Your duty is to rule!" Disarpo said.
However Sky just slashes the rope instead leaving Disapro furious.
"Mission failed, fall back." The guards said as they took off.
"You know she's gonna be angry at you when this is over right?" Ragnar asks.
"She's never not angry. Besides. We're through." Sky smirks.
"You do know there's no guarantee Bloom will forgive you." Ragnar said turning to him.
"I know. Still doesn't mean I want her as a fallback." Sky said making Ragnar chuckle.
"No you would not." Ragnar said as he went to fight.
"Ragnar!" Looking up he saw Saladin jump down and slash a monster behind him.
"Sir these things are magical. They're not real monsters!" Using his anti-magic sword Ragnar swings it making multiple monster disintegrate on impact.
"Shame we don't have more of those." Saladin said.
"No but I might know the next best thing. Toothless time to call in reinforcments!" Ragnar said.
Nodding Toothless landed atop the wall facing the forest.
Taking a deep breath Toothless released a fierce Alpha Roar getting everyone's attention.
Seconds later, a large rumbling emerged from the forest as over 100 dragons Ragnar had found and saved were flying in to help.
Seeing the large quantity, Saladin turns to Ragnar.
"You know this seems to be a larger number than what you've been telling me." Saladin glares.
"Yeah I uh might have been finding more dragons than I led you believe." Ragnar said.
"I should be mad but right now I'm glad you did. We need as much help as we can get." Saladin orders.
Descending down all the dragons attacked the army ripping and blasting as many monsters to pieces as possible.
"Listen you need to get to Alfea right now! Farragonda demands your presence!" Saladin said.
"What? No I can't leave you guys in the middle of an attack." Ragnar said.
"Go! That's an order!" Saladin orders.
Seeing how serious he was Ragnar nods his head. "Toothless!" Climbing onto his back Ragnar looked to Toothless. "Fly as fast as you can buddy! Time is of the essence!"
Nodding in understanding Toothless flapped his wings and flew to Alfea as fast as he could.
Turning around Ragnar looked down at his school trying to fight off the army and as much as he wanted to help all he could do was follow orders and hope this could help.
Little did he know in his saddlebag a certain Hobgobbler popped its head out before tucking itself back in until the ride was over.
Meanwhile at Cloud Tower, the Trix were looking at the chaos emerging and they loved it.
"It's time to call a halt to the fighting, sisters. Call back the Creatures of the Dark. The magic dimension is now ready to hear our demands." Icy declares as their evil plans were taking control.
