Chapter 28: Domino's Secrets
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. The first update of 2023! And needless to say, I'm starting this year off with a bang! I've been planning this chapter for a while and needless to say I went all out with the surprises and twists in store especially a big one I've been planning for a while. At Alfea, we see Ragnar and Toothless in Farragonda's office with an image of Saladin nearby as the Trix sent them a message.
"Your pathetic, little magic schools will soon cease to exist. We have supreme power, and we will stop at nothing to obtain full control of the Magic Dimension! You have twelve hours to surrender or face total annihilation. Resistance is futile!" Icy's message said before ending.
"They're insane." Farragonda said.
"We could have told you that." Ragnar said as Toothless rolled his eyes and grumbled.
"Yes. Those three witches are exactly like their ancestors." Saladin said.
"Except that their ancestors could never have obtained the power of the Dragon Flame." Farragonda said.
"What exactly is the Dragon Flame?" Ragnar asks.
"It's a very powerful magic and it is also why we need your help." Farragonda said.
"But magic is your thing, us Specialists aren't exactly known for magic." Ragnar points.
"Trust us you're exactly what they need." Saladin said.
"Yes sir." Ragnar nods.
"We'll have to work together. I'll organize a defense strategy. We've got to act quickly." Saladin said.
"Sky and the other member of my team know how to communicate with my dragons. They might add a little extra fire power." Ragnar suggests.
"Will do." Saladin said before hanging up.
Meanwhile, at Cloud Tower, we see Darcy in front of a large army of dark creatures.
"My sweet, itsy-bitsy babies, you've come back to mama. What is it, my little urchins? Wanna play?" Darcy teases as the army was eager for more.
Nearby Knut was holding Pepe as the two looked at the army in fear.
"I don't know. I don't like this." Knut said as Pepe shivers in fear. "This is no place for us anymore."
Turning around Knut took the little ducky and left.
Back at Alfea, the door opens revealing the Winx.
"Ragnar?" Bloom said surprised to see him.
"Hey girls." Ragnar smiles as they ran in.
"We were so worried. When we heard Red Fountain was under attack, we thought you guys were in trouble." Stella said hugging him much to Musa's dismay.
"We're fine for now. Luckily all my Rescue Dragons helped us fight back." Ragnar said.
"Speaking of dragons who's he?" Flora points.
Confused, Ragnar looks to see the Hobgobbler walking out from behind Farragonda's desk making him groan.
"Ugh he won't leave me alone." Ragnar said.
"Aww I didn't know dragons could be this small?" Farragonda asks picking him up. "It's actually kinda cute."
"What's his name?" Tecna asks.
"Sneaky. For obvious reasons. No matter where I go he's always able to find me and sneak up on me." Ragnar said.
Grumbling Sneaky seemed to like that name.
"So what's going on? Why is Ragnar here?" Bloom asks.
"The witches are planning an attack against us. They're doing what their ancestors did. Back then, they seriously jeopardized the dimension's balance of power. And now, another generation of witches has taken up the fight. And this time, they possess a weapon their ancestors did not - your power. And that makes them utterly invincible. Bloom, listen carefully. At this point in time, the only thing for you to do is to go back to Domino." Farragonda explains surprising her.
"Domino? But why?" Bloom asks.
"Because it was their three ancestors who destroyed your birthplace, Bloom. They eradicated your kingdom. And now, Icy, Darcy and Stormy are following in their evil footsteps. And I'm thinking that perhaps somewhere in the remnants of the Royal Palace, you might be able to find a clue, a shred of evidence, something, anything, that could help you regain what you've lost, The Dragon Flame. Bloom, you are our only chance." Farragonda said.
"Wait, I was near Domino before this whole mess started." Ragnar said getting their attention.
"You were?" Bloom asks.
"Yeah and when I got close my necklace started to glow." Ragnar said taking it out. "Maybe I'm supposed to help you find something."
Hearing this Farragonda couldn't help but smile softly.
"Well unfortunately Ragnar recent events might make things more difficult than the last time you were there." Using her magic Farragonda shows them Domino was completely covered in ice and snow.
"Well then you're coming with me." Bloom said when Toothless and Sneaky joined in.
"I guess the Dragons are in too." Ragnar smiles.
"Don't forget us." Musa joined in.
"Absolutely. You can count on us." Flora adds.
"As if we'd let you two go alone." Stella smiles.
"Thanks girls." Bloom smiles.
As they made their way out, Ragnar looks to Bloom.
"So they really took your magic huh?" Ragnar asks.
"Unfortunately. I'm powerless now." Bloom frowns.
"Hey I know what it's like to feel weak, if I can get over it you can too." Ragnar assures.
"Thanks Ragnar I needed that." Bloom said.
"Hey what are friends for?" Ragnar said.
"So uh…has Brandon I mean Sky asked about me?" Bloom asks.
"It's Sky and yeah I know it's a lot to process. Trust me I know what you're thinking." Ragnar said.
"Yeah you and I really are on the same wavelength." Bloom said.
"You guys really going?" Mirta asks coming out of hiding.
"Mirta." The Winx smile.
"I'm coming with you. I want to help." Mirta offers.
"We appreciate it Mirta but right now we need you here." Flora said.
"If the Trix attack again we're going to need someone who knows them well." Stella said.
"Alright, but be careful." Mirta said.
"Don't worry. We will." Ragnar nods.
As the Winx went to get their dragons, Ragnar waited inside.
"Hey you got a second?" Looking over he saw Musa walk in.
"Musa?" Ragnar said.
"How are you holding up?" Musa asks.
"Honestly, things were so much easier when all I had to worry about was Riven punching me in the face." Ragnar said pinching his nose. "I'll admit when I first met you girls I never thought we'd get pulled into all this."
"Yeah things sure took us by surprise, but I will say this kinda like how much you've changed since we met." Musa said getting his attention.
"Really?" Ragnar asks.
"Yeah back then you were just a guy with a dragon, now look at you. You're willing to help us find Bloom's magic and save the magic realm and you're not running away." Musa points.
"But now I have more than one dragon." Ragnar points out making her giggle.
"And not to mention…you were there for me when I needed someone the most. I was so scared but then you showed up. I'll never forget that day." Musa said walking closer to him.
"Well glad I could be of help to someone." Ragnar said.
"You're more than that Ragnar. You're so much more and before we go to Domino, I want you to know…I-I love you." Musa declares leaving him speechless.
"Wait y-you do?" Ragnar said trying to keep it together.
"I know we have a lot to deal with, but I want you to know I really felt and…maybe when this is over we can go on a date." Musa blushes.
Giving him a kiss on the cheek, Musa went to get Siren.
Once she left Ragnar's legs started to wobble forcing him to lean against the wall.
Grumbling softly, Toothless and Sneaky walked out to see their rider trying to keep it together.
"Well…that was something I never saw coming.
Soon they were all in the Simulation room, with all their dragons.
"Wow your simulator is as good as ours." Ragnar said impressed.
"All right, everybody. You all set and ready to begin?" Palladium asks manning the controls. "Now listen, girls. I've done a complete overhaul of the system and in a few seconds, the simulator will create a multi-dimensional corridor, which will take you directly to Domino."
As bright orbs circled the girls their clothes changed to heavy winter wear while Ragnar had his dragon armor still on.
"Now remember, this time, it's for real! It's not a simulation. So, concentrate, relax and stay focused. I wish you all the best of luck." Palladium said as a bright light engulfs them and they all disappeared. "Our fate is in their hands."
Arriving at the frozen wastelands of Domino they all looked in shock.
"Domino is freezing cold." Bloom said.
"It sure is. We've got to find the Royal Palace and fast or else, we'll end up frozen stiff. Come on." Stella shivers.
"Let me tell you it wasn't like this when I came here." Ragnar said taking out his necklace from under his armor.
As they all climbed onto their dragons they took flight.
"Ragnar we need you and your necklace up front." Tecna said.
"Well that's fine but which way do we go?" Ragnar asks.
"Don't worry about it. I've analyzed the topography of the region." Tecna said taking out a holomap. "You see the flat area on the map? I believe this is Bloom's castle."
"Oh Tecna you're the best." Bloom smiles.
"Wow you're really a princess huh?" Ragnar asks.
"Just one of the many other crazy things we've learned about Bloom. She's also got a long-lost twin brother." Musa said.
"Oh man. So you need all the help you can get with this." Ragnar said wanting to help Bloom more than ever. "Just don't expect me to start calling you your majesty."
Giggling Bloom smiles softly. "Please don't."
Little did they know at Cloud Tower the Trix were chanting a spell and as a result a fierce cold wind blew hitting them all in the air.
Cringing Crystal and the other dragons felt that one. Climbing into Ragnar's saddle bag, Sneaky tucked himself right inside.
"Hang in there girl." Stella said.
While dragons like Toothless, Cloudjumper, Crystal and Windshear were holding up well sea dragons like Siren and Lagoon were struggling to deal with it.
"Hang on a second! The climate's totally off. Mother nature's not happy." Flora said.
"I know. The wind doesn't sound right. It's full of anger." Musa said.
Growling softly, the cold wind hit the girls extra hard at this altitude. While Ragnar's armor kept him warm he didn't know how long the others could last.
"Toothless drop down and switch to glide mode." Ragnar said.
Nodding Toothless dived towards the ground with the others right behind him.
"Guess we gotta fly low to handle the weather." Bloom said as Cloudjumper frowns.
"But where do we go? We can barely see." Flora asks when a faint light shined.
"Ragnar your necklace." Stella points.
Looking at his chest he saw his crystal was beginning to glow.
"This is how." Holding it up the crystal pointed them in the direction they needed to go.
As they made their way through the snow they didn't notice a shadow watching them.
At Red Fountain, we find Knut and Pepe in Saladin's office.
"I hope your presence here is not another one of those witches' tricks." Saladin glares.
"Oh, no! We're scared. We need your help." Knut said as Pepe quacked in agreement. "Please." Knut begs.
"Should I trust you?" Saladin asks getting up from his seat.
"Yes, you should. Absolutely. We're your friends now. Icy, Darcy and Stormy are mega, ultra-bad news! They'll never forgive us for deserting them." Knut said when they suddenly heard a throat being cleared.
Turning around they saw Holograms of the Trix.
"Saladin, you surprise me. I didn't know you liked to entertain traitors." Icy said.
"You've chosen to side with the enemy, haven't you? Obviously, you don't know what's good for you." Darcy said as they all laughed.
Growling in anger, Saladin raised his staff and destroyed the message.
"You crazy witches!" Saladin said believing Knut now.
Assembling all the Specialists, Saladin and Codatorta approached them.
"Young men, the situation is serious. The time has come to do battle." Saladin declares.
"Are you ready?" Codatorta calls out.
"Sir yes sir!" All the Specialists said.
"We're ready!" Timmy said as all their dragons roared in agreement.
"On no account must we let the witches win!" Saladin said.
As dark clouds gathered over them the Trix's army rained down.
"This is it. The time has come. Take up your positions." Codatorta orders.
Roaring in determination Red Fountain went on the attack.
Charging in the Specialists swung their weapons slashing and fighting off the army of monsters.
Aiming his gun, Timmy fires making some monsters explode. "More of them are showing up!" Timmy said as the dragons moved in.
Flying in Metalug fires molten fireballs down on them causing several to explode.
As Barf breathes tons of gas Belch lights them up causing an explosion.
When the smoke dies down the creatures they took out morphed together to become a gigantic monster.
To their horror as the Specialists and Dragons destroyed them the monsters began reforming into bigger ones.
"Watch out!" Knut yells.
Turning around Brandon and Stormfly saw a giant one come in.
Roaring Stormfly in and took the hit protecting him.
"Stormfly!" Brandon gasps.
Using this chance the giant grabbed Brandon and squeezed tight.
As the dragons tried to attack the giant monsters were proving to be quite a match for them.
At Cloud Tower, the Trix cackled at their pathetic attempts.
"Look at them! Why do they even bother? Puny, worthless gnats! We are invincible!" Icy said.
"Even dragons get tired sooner or later. It doesn't matter how many times they destroy them if they never stay down!" Darcy grins.
Charging in Knut punches a giant in the gut freeing Brandon allowing him to slice the giant in half.
"Thanks big guy." Brandon said before turning to Stormfly. "You okay girl?"
Growling softly, Stormfly slowly got up.
"You saved me back there. You're the best." Brandon smiles petting her.
Smiling Stormfly gestures for him to get on.
Gripping his staff tight, Saladin stepped forward. "Larim atreum. Solis negatum! Ore et lestat! Pateam latema! Shatem retuum!" Saladin chants as a powerful magic blast flew into the sky.
Upon impact it temporarily stopped the dark clouds from bringing reinforcements. "Go away, creatures of evil! Depart from Red Fountain!" Saladin said as a powerful magic wave blasted them all.
Panting Saladin hoped it was over, but to their horror, the creatures regenerated again.
Suddenly the Trix appeared above them on their dragons laughing evilly.
Growling all the Specialists and Dragons looked up at their attackers.
"You're wasting your time, Saladin. You'll never be able to save your school, old man." Icy declares before releasing a powerful ice blast freezing the entire school.
"Strategic withdrawal! Everyone, to their battleship! Bring the dragons with you!" Codatorta orders.
Cackling at their victory the Trix returned to Cloud Tower.
"Come on follow us!" Sky said Skullcrusher and the others led the Rescue dragons to the ships.
Getting to their ships, they all flew out before the entire school came down.
At Cloud Tower, the Trix were celebrating their victory.
"Weren't we just great? We totally sent them flying." Darcy laughs.
"We rule." Stormy declares.
"Ah, but we're not done yet, sisters. The best is yet to come." Icy grins.
Back at Domino, Ragnar and the Winx descended down so the dragons could rest their wings.
"Alright let's give them a break and do some travel by foot for a while." Ragnar said.
"Good idea." Flora said.
Suddenly the dragon's heads perked up hearing something.
Growling Toothless looks in the distance.
"What's wrong bud?" Ragnar asks.
Suddenly emerging out of the snow all of them looked in shock and horror to see a large snow monster with large tusks and icicles on the back of its head.
Screaming in horror, the Winx and Ragnar were not fans of this.
Grabbing a large amount of snow, the Snow Monster flips it on top of them.
Seconds later blasts of fire, plasma, and boiling water shot out of the snow allowing the dragons to shoot out while their riders climbed up.
"Toothless give us cover!" Ragnar said.
Nodding Toothless let out a roar as he and the dragons took to the skies.
Looking up the beast saw Toothless and Crystal dive bomb in.
As it swung at them the two dragons evaded and blasted it.
Releasing boiling water, Lagoon melted the snow under it causing it to lose balance before Siren flew in and blasted it from behind.
Using this chance, Cloudjumper and Windshear rammed into the beast knocking it into the snow and causing the ground to crack a little.
"Let's get outta here!" Bloom said as they used this chance to run.
However, the snow monster was far from done. Grabbing a large amount of snow, it threw it at them.
"Incoming!" Flora yells.
Getting in front of them Ragnar took a deep breath before breathing fire melting half the ice.
"I need more heat." Ragnar growls.
"I got your back! Magic Winx!" Stella said as she transformed into her fairy form.
Landing alongside him, Stella created a bright light melting the remainder of the ice.
"Need a hand?" Stella smiles.
"From you? Always." Ragnar grins as flames and light engulfed their hands. "Let's bring the heat!"
Holding out their hands the two blasted the Snow Monster with the dragons adding their own attacks.
As the monster was bombarded from all sides it dropped to its knees.
Roaring at the top of its lungs the monster crated a giant ice pillar as big as it.
Picking it up the beast wielders it like a club. As the dragons flew around to attack the snow monster used its club to deflect all the attacks.
"Okay I'm not liking where this is going." Stella gulps.
"This thing is incredibly strong." Bloom said.
Throwing the pillar at them the dragons flew out of the way as it pierced the ground causing it to crack.
Panicking they looked to see the ice was splitting into thirds.
"Watch out!" Bloom said.
As Flora and Tecna ran for cover, Ragnar slips causing his necklace to fall off.
"My necklace!" Ragnar gasps turning around to get it.
"Ragnar no!" Musa yells running to get him with Stella right behind him.
Picking it up, Ragnar holds it close to him but before he could react the ice broke under him, Bloom, Stella and Musa.
Gasping all of them plummeted down into the ice below.
Looking in horror, Toothless was terrified for the fate of his rider as were the other dragons.
Zooming out we see Icy watching this from Cloud Tower.
"Goodbye Bloom." Icy grins.
Meanwhile, at Alfea, the Specialist Battleships and Rescue Dragons landed in the main square allowing them all to rest.
"Alfea hasn't yet come under attack. We'll be able to reorganize our troops here." Codatorta said as he and Saladin led the injured inside.
"Come on in, young men. We'll help you get settled." Farragonda said.
"Thank you, Faragonda. The situation is critical. Red Fountain has been destroyed." Saladin said as he and Codatorta approached her.
"The magic dimension's fortress lays in ruins. Their magical arsenal is astronomical. We had to withdraw. At least, here every one is safe and sound." Codatorta said.
"Yes, but unfortunately, I fear that this war is only just beginning." Farragonda declares.
Outside the school, Sky, Timmy and Brandon were about to head inside when they heard a noise.
"Psst. Over here." Looking down the hall, they saw Mirta hiding behind a pillar waving for them.
"Mirta?" Sky said approaching her.
"Thank goodness you guys are safe." Mirta said.
"Where's Bloom and the others?" Brandon asks.
"They went with Ragnar on a mission and knowing our friends I bet they need help." Mirta said.
Hearing this the three Specialists nod. "Grab your Dragon Mirta, we'll need all the help we can get." Timmy said.
"You got it." Mirta said as they ran off to go help their friends.
Back at Domino, we find ourselves at the bottom of the crevice we see Bloom slowly waking up.
"Ugh. Man I was lucky." Bloom said as she recalled what happened.
As she, Ragnar, Stella and Musa fell inside, they landed on the ice resulting in them sliding away. While she went down one cavern, Ragnar, Stella and Musa went down the other.
Taking a deep breath, Bloom stood up.
"I was really lucky. I'm still in one piece. I must remain calm. I'm at the bottom of a crevice. I need to find a way out of here." Looking around Bloom noticed a path up ahead.
Deciding it was better than waiting around she followed it.
In another part of the crevice, Ragnar groans slowly waking up to a licking sensation.
Opening his eyes, Ragnar saw Sneaky growling softly happy he was awake.
"Hey little guy. I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see you here too." Ragnar said weakly.
Slowly getting up Ragnar looks around to see he was in a frozen area that led somewhere. Taking out Inferno he ignited the blade to give him a light.
Reaching into his pocket, Ragnar's necklace glowed brighter and brighter as if to point him the way.
"Something's here, something big." Ragnar said looking around.
He was about to leave when he heard a groaning noise.
Turning around Ragnar gasps seeing Stella and Musa unconscious nearby.
"Musa! Stella!" Ragnar said running to help them.
As he pulled them out, he noticed Stella was shivering from the cold.
"Hang on." Taking off his gloves, Ragnar concentrated his magic around his hands before touching Stella and warming her up.
Moaning softly, Stella opened her eyes to see Ragnar's smiling face.
"Hey there sleepyhead." Ragnar smiles.
"You're okay." Stella said.
"That's my line." Ragnar said. "You were freezing when I saw you."
"My hands are a little cold." Stella admits.
"Here." Reaching out Ragnar held her hands and instantly Stella sighs feeling much better.
"Who needs a heater with you around?" Stella teases.
"Nice to know I'm useful for something." Ragnar said.
"You know this reminds me of our first mission together. We went to get that sword of yours and then that cave collapsed." Stella said.
"Yeah that was before you and I found Bloom and this whole thing started." Ragnar said.
"Back then you were so nervous and unsure." Stella said.
"Yeah I was pretty lame." Ragnar said.
"Still you surprised me and you continue to surprise me." Stella said.
"You're pretty amazing too Stella." Ragnar said making her blush.
"Hey uh remember when we met? I told you my ideal specialist was someone who brave and ready to help anyone in need and let tell me you Ragnar right now…that's you to a T." Stella declares.
"It took a while but I'm glad I could meet your specifications princess." Ragnar teases making her giggle.
Slowly Musa began to wake up.
"You've done so much more Ragnar and as I've watched you improve honestly…I really like you." Stella confesses.
"I like you too Stella." Ragnar said.
"No. I mean LIKE like." Stella hints making his eyes widen as Musa gasps.
"Wait you mean?" Ragnar asks.
"I love you Ragnar and I have for a while now." Stella said leaning for a kiss.
"Hey!" Musa snaps startling them. "Really Stella? Confessing to him while you have a friend laying nearby?"
"Hey you snooze you lose Musa. I confessed to him first." Stella said.
"Actually you're wrong. Because I told Ragnar I loved him back at Alfea." Musa points.
"Wait what?" Stella said standing up. "He said yes?!"
"Well uh…not exactly. I said I would give him time." Musa admits.
"Aha! So he didn't say yes!" Stella points.
"He didn't say no either!" Musa snaps.
"Well he was about to say yes to me before you interrupted." Stella said.
"Yeah right." Musa rolls her eyes.
Looking at them, Ragnar was not a fan of this. The two of them were ready to rip each other apart over him.
Most guys would kill for two hotties to fight over him, but when Ragnar saw this he knew he couldn't let this happen.
"You really think he would pick you over me?" Stella growls.
"Instantly." Musa said.
"Will you both stop it!" Ragnar said startling them both. "Look it's not like I haven't thought about it. I mean you two are some of the most amazing girls I've ever met. Stella you're incredible. You're funny, optimistic, caring, and you help give me the push I need to better myself."
Hearing this Stella couldn't help but blush before Ragnar turns to Musa.
"And Musa, you're something else. You're sweet, strong, fun, and I feel I can really be myself around you." Ragnar said making her giggle. "And that's the problem you're both so amazing that I can't choose between either one of you and even if I did I would only end up hurting you all."
"You mean just whoever you didn't pick." Stella said.
"No I mean you all, the Winx. You girls are an amazing team but if I keep making the two of you hate each other than you girls can't be a team. I love you both and because of that I can't bring myself to make one of you miserable with this choice. I know this isn't the answer you both wanted but it's how I feel." Ragnar confesses.
He was about to turn to leave, but at the last second, he grabs Stella and pulls her into a kiss surprising them both.
"Ragnar—" Before Musa could react Ragnar moves in and kisses her much to their confusion.
"Sorry. I just wanted one more kiss from the both of you." Ragnar smiles weakly before turning around. "Come on let's find a way out."
As he walked away both girls noticed a tear running down his eye.
He hated this more than anything, but he made the only choice he thought he could, for their sake more than his.
Frowning Sneaky followed after him leaving the girls to look at him.
"I don't believe it." Stella said.
"He loves us. He loves us so much he couldn't let us keep doing this." Musa said.
"And now none of us are with the one with love." Stella frowns.
Looking at each other Stella and Musa knew that if they wanted this to work they would need to come up with something.
Slowly following after him, they made their way through the caverns.
Up above them on the snowy surface, the dragons had flown Flora and Tecna to safety.
Growling concerned Toothless was asking what to do about the others.
Slowly peeking out, Tecna saw the Snow Monster turning to leave thinking it had defeated them.
"It's going away. What should we do?" Flora asks.
"I say we attack right now. It won't expect it. We'll take it by surprise." Tecna suggests.
"We'd better not. The monster thinks it's rid of us. We'll let it believe that and in the meantime, we can find the others." Flora suggests.
"But how? Ragnar's necklace was the only clue we had to navigate this place?" Tecna asks.
Looking around the dragons tried to sniff out any kind of clue when Cloudjumper tilted his head.
Growling softly it looked at a large frozen structure.
Getting their attention, Cloudjumper points.
"Hey those look like castle towers." Flora realized.
"The castle." Tecna grins turning to the dragons. "You guys mind?"
Nodding all the dragons began melting the ice revealing the royal castle underneath.
In the caverns below, Bloom made her way through them but to her surprise, the caves seemed more regal than she expected.
"These are no caves. They're the corridors of a castle." Bloom said.
Slowly making her way out she found herself in a beautiful dining area.
"I have a strange feeling I've been here before." Bloom said.
"Bloom?" A familiar voice calls out getting her attention.
From the opposite corridor, Bloom saw Stella, Musa and Ragnar exit.
"Stella! Musa!" Bloom smiles.
"You're okay!" Musa said as the three friends ran to hug her.
"What happened?" Bloom asks.
"It's crazy Bloom these caves aren't caves! We're in the Royal Castle of Domino!" Stella declares.
"I know." Bloom nods when she noticed Ragnar approaching the table.
"Wait…why does this all look familiar?" Ragnar asks confused when suddenly he sees a memory of the table, but it was golden with sparkling lights around the room.
Closing his eyes Ragnar held his head. "What was that?"
"Hey you okay?" Bloom asks.
"Bloom I don't know why but this place…there's something about it." Ragnar said showing Bloom his necklace.
"It's glowing so bright." Bloom said amazed. "It's reacting to the castle…to my home." Bloom declares.
"It is beautiful here." Ragnar said as Sneaky flew in and landed on Ragnar's shoulder.
Roaring Sneaky heard something.
Before they could react the ground began to shake violently startling them.
"Oh what now?" Ragnar groans tired of all this.
"Earthquake!" Bloom panics.
"Incoming!" Stella said as the icy roof above them came crashing down.
"Did we hit something?" From outside they all saw Flora, Tecna and the dragons looking in.
"Flora! Tecna!" Musa calls out.
"We're down here!" Stella said making them smile.
"They're okay." Flora said as Toothless dropped in excited.
"Toothless." Ragnar smiles.
Flying in, Toothless tackles Ragnar to the ground much to their surprise.
Happy to see he was safe and sound Toothless gave Ragnar a big lick.
"Ugh not again." Ragnar groans.
Giggling the Winx couldn't help but enjoy this.
"Oh man that smells." Musa said when Siren suddenly licks her sending a chill down her spine.
"Ha. Nice to know girls like us now better right Crystal?" Stella asks when Crystal knocks her to the ground and nuzzles her. "Okay okay, I'm happy to see you too."
Grumbling softly Cloudjumper was happy to have Bloom back as well.
"We need your help with something." Bloom said.
Working together, Tecna, Stella and the dragons used their combined powers to thaw the ice around the castle allowing them to see the castle for what it used to be.
"It's total mess. The three ancient witches have wrecked the place." Bloom said.
"But don't you worry. The Trix will never do this to the Magic Dimension. We won't let them." Musa assures.
"I hope you're right." Bloom said as Tecna and Flora looked into a hole near the courtyard revealing some underground hallways.
"The underground hallways have not been damaged." Tecna said.
"Perhaps the three ancient witches didn't know they existed." Flora assumes.
"That's not all." Showing them his necklace, Ragnar revealed the crystal was pointing toward the hallway.
"In that case, we should see what's down there." Bloom said.
As they made their way inside, the dragons followed close behind following Ragnar's necklace.
"Here now we can see where we're going." Stella said using her scepter as a light.
"Bloom. Ragnar." A familiar voice said surprising them.
"Hey what's wrong?" Musa asks as the two of them stopped.
"Did you hear that? The voice." Bloom asks.
"I didn't hear anything." Stella asks.
"Did you guys?" Flora asks as the dragons sniffed around but found nothing.
"I don't pick up other life forms." Tecna said looking at her map.
"I heard it too." Ragnar said getting her attention.
Suddenly a bright light shines and all of them gasp to see Daphne the nymph appears in front of them.
"Welcome. I am Daphne." She declares as she briefly disappears and reappears.
"My sister." Bloom gasps.
"She's beautiful." Stella said.
"I don't believe it's really you." Ragnar said.
"Ragnar you know her?" Musa asks.
"Only in my dreams." Ragnar said.
"Wait Daphne's in your dreams too? How come you never said anything?" Bloom asks.
"I didn't know." Ragnar said.
"We meet at last. Follow me." Daphne said leading them down the hall.
Slowly following her, Bloom looks at Ragnar.
"How long have you been seeing Daphne in your dreams?" Bloom asks.
"A while. She comes to me and talks to me. But I don't even know her." Ragnar said.
"Why would my sister come to me and you?" Bloom asks.
"I don't know. I think I would remember meeting someone like her." Ragnar said when Daphne appears in front of them.
"Don't speak. Just listen to me." Daphne said getting their attention. "I was once the nymph of Lake Roccaluce. But it is in this castle that we were born. What you are looking for, you will not find here. But you will discover your origins, your past, and a great secret."
Curious about what she meant they followed Daphne into a large room filled with gold and jewels.
"Here is Domino's treasure room. Do come in." Daphne said leading them inside.
"Hey Stella looks like Bloom's richer than you." Musa teases.
"Now I know who to ask when I'm strapped for cash." Stella giggles.
"Right here." Daphne gestures.
Walking up the steps, Bloom and Ragnar see a large case with a small hole carved for it.
"The crystal, put it there." Daphne points.
Taking it off, Ragnar lines up the crystal necklace into the slot and it slides in perfectly.
Slowly opening up the case revealed a beautiful crown.
"It's the crown I saw at the bottom of the lake." Bloom realized.
"It's your crown. Put the necklace around it and you will see the truth." Daphne instructs. "Both of you."
Slowly looking at Ragnar, Bloom nods telling him to come with her.
As Ragnar wraps the necklace along the crown both reached out to touch it and suddenly a light shines hitting both of them.
In it we see a vision of Daphne carrying two bundles in her arms, one was a baby Bloom but there was a second baby as well. A baby boy.
Turning a corner, Daphne created two portals one to Gardenia and the other to an orphange in Magix.
"For your safety, you two must be separated, but this will help bring you together." Reaching into her pocket, Daphne pulls out the crystal necklace and puts it around the boys' neck revealing who it was. "I love you both so much." Daphne said before sending them away.
Eyes widening both heard a voice.
"Ragnar, Bloom, your destiny has always been to be the keepers of the Dragon Flame, the power which keeps the Magic Dimension safe from the forces of evil. The Dragon Twins. The three ancient witches, the first creatures of evil known to the dimension, tried to steal the power of the flame but failed. However, they did succeed in destroying Domino. The witches eventually overpowered Daphne, but before they could do so, she managed to save your lives by separating the two of you. One in the realm of humans and one hidden away in the realm of magic. The King and Queen of Domino, convinced they had lost all their children, chose to go into exile to grieve. Today, they still pine for their beloved children."
Snapping out of it, both Ragnar and Bloom look at each other in shock and disbelief.
"B-Bloom is-is this for real?" Ragnar asks tearing up.
Sniffling Bloom tears up as well. "My…Our parents."
"You've been shown the shocking truth, but you must be strong." Daphne said hugging them both.
"Be strong? But how am I even supposed to process all this?" Ragnar asks.
"Because you two are going to need each other more than ever now." Daphne said cupping his cheek. "You can do it. I believe in you both."
"Bloom…what happened?" Flora asks.
"I've just learned about my sister Daphne's great sacrifice. How she saved my life. I've also found out about what happened to my birth parents. They're still alive. But I don't know where they are." Bloom explains.
"What about your twin?" Stella asks.
"Y-You're looking at him." Ragnar declares surprising them.
"Wait what?" The Winx gasps.
"Ragnar is my twin brother. When Daphne separated us, she gave him the necklace to hide his powers until we were reunited. Ragnar is the second Dragon twin and the Prince of Domino." Bloom declares.
"Wait what?!" They all said surprised, even Toothless didn't see this coming.
"This is why your powers are so similar to mine. They're the same but we use it differently." Bloom said.
"My powers…that night at Alfea when you worked together to defeat the Whip you helped unlock my powers, helped me see Daphne, helped be ready to bring you here." Ragnar realized.
"I guess we have some catching up to do after this." Bloom said.
"We can bond all we want…after we take down those stupid witches and find your-I mean find OUR parents." Ragnar said.
"Now that's how a Prince and Princess should act. I'm so proud of you two. I can go now. My work here is done." Daphne said before disappearing again.
As they made their way out, Bloom had a confident look on her face while Ragnar was still adjusting to all of it.
"We must go back to Magix, right now. With the help of the other Dragon Twin, I'll upset the witches' plans and I'll get back my half of the Dragon Flame." Bloom said determined.
"It's been a while since I've seen you this spunky." Stella smiles.
"I was wondering what had happened to the old Bloom." Musa smiles.
"Me too. But now that I've found out all about my past, I feel stronger." Bloom said.
"Speak for yourself. This whole trip has been one insane twist after another for me. I mean my friend is my long-lost twin? My older sister has been talking to me in my dreams? This place was my home? I'm a Prince? This is too much to process all at once! I'm freaking out!" Ragnar said holding his head.
"Yikes this is really getting to him." Tecna said.
"Among other things." Stella said as she and Musa felt bad for him knowing they were also part of what made this trip so crazy for him.
"He's actually taking it better than I did when I found out." Bloom cringed.
As Toothless and Sneaky tried to help him feel better Bloom took his hands and got his attention.
"It's a lot to take in trust me I know, when this is all over, we can sit down and figure this out." Bloom said.
"I would like that very much." Ragnar said.
"You know I'm starting to see the family resemblance." Flora said.
"Really? Where?" Musa asks.
"I mean look at them. Both of them started out unsure about themselves but as they got better they transformed the people they are today, they have that assuring smile and that special something that makes you want them by your side." Flora explains.
Looking at them, the other Winx had to admit they were starting to see it.
Suddenly the dragons lifted their heads up sensing something before growling.
In the distance, the Snow Monster had spotted them and was coming back for Round 2 but it wasn't alone. At its feet we see tons of giant ice crabs charging toward them.
"Our furry friend is back." Ragnar said.
"And this time he brought company." Bloom said.
"Why? Doesn't he think he's big enough?" Musa mocks.
Roaring the Snow Monster orders his ice crabs to charge.
"Alright girls! Winx attack!" Stella said as Flora, Musa, and Tecna transformed.
Roaring the dragons went on the attack.
Flying in low, Windshear rams into multiple Ice Crabs causing them to shatter.
Flapping his four wings, Cloudjumper blew them backwards allowing Flora to create giant vines to trap them.
Combining their attacks, Musa and Siren blast the Ice Crabs causing them to shatter.
Roaring Crystal released a plasma bolt breaking several of them before Stella slams her staff down causing a bright light to engulf the Ice Crabs making them shatter.
But even so more came towards them.
Releasing Boiling Water, Lagoon made a small moat to stop them in their tracks.
Using this chance, Toothless and Ragnar released a fire breath and a plasma bolt hitting several of them.
As one moved past the moat, Sneaky appeared on its back.
Growling it jumped down and bit off the front legs causing it to fall over but more came towards the castle.
"Bloom!" Ragnar yells.
Turning to her, Ragnar unclips Inferno and tosses it to her.
Catching it Bloom looks at it confused. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Activate it quick!" Ragnar said.
Clicking it Bloom gasps surprised as the flaming blade shot out. "Whoa!"
Looking at it in surprise, Bloom looks to the ice minion Bloom slashes it in half.
"I could get used to this." Bloom smiles.
As more came in, Ragnar activated his wingsuit and as the metal wings shot out, he drew his sword in one hand and fire surrounded his other hand.
"Don't mess with me you overgrown ice cubes! I have had a really crazy day!" Ragnar yells.
With four charging in, Ragnar roars swinging his sword down slashing one in half before punching the other in the face causing it to melt instantly.
Spinning around his metal wings bangs the other two making them stagger allowing Toothless to blast one with a Plasma bolt while Ragnar stabbed the other through the chest.
Moving in the Snow Monster released a frozen breath attack knocking the Winx out of the air.
As they plummeted to the ground their dragons swooped in and caught them on their backs.
"They just keep coming." Ragnar said as he and Bloom had their backs to each other.
"We're seriously outnumbered." Bloom said when they heard a familiar noise.
Flying in a familiar ship rammed into the Snow Monster distracting it.
"I know that ship." Ragnar smiles as it lands nearby.
Stepping out of it we see Sky, Brandon, Timmy and Mirta alongside, Skullcrusher, Hookfang, Bolt, Meatlug, Barf and Belch, Grump, Sleuther, and Stormfly.
Activating his sword, Sky jumped onto Skullcrusher.
"Charge!" Sky yells as they flew in.
Erupting into flames, Hookfang flew in causing many Ice Crabs to shatter or melt upon contact.
Lazily flying in Grump lowered its tail bonking several on the head with its mace tail.
Swinging his tail, Sleuther stabs several ice crabs while Skullcrusher smashes through them.
Fighting their way to their friends, the two groups met in the middle.
Using her magic, Mirta made a wall of flame illusion to stop the ice crabs from advancing while Bolt made lightning bolts rain down on them.
"Nice to see you made it." Ragnar said as Sky joined him.
"What you thought we let you have all the fun buddy?" Sky smirks.
"Trust me today has been anything but fun." Ragnar said as they charged in.
As Bloom was facing an Ice Crab she swings Inferno but the crab knocks it out of her hands making her gasp.
It was about to strike when Sky leaps and slashes it in half saving her.
"Hey Bloom." He smiles making her feel better.
Firing multiple blasts Timmy and Meatlug covered Tecna from below.
"Powerful." Tecna said impressed.
As they dealt with the army the big Snow Monster roared looking down at them.
Reaching down to grab them, Sky leaps up and swings his sword but that only annoys it.
"This guy's too big for us!" Timmy said.
"Well then we need to cut it down to size." Stella said.
Looking at it, Ragnar saw their attacks didn't faze it much from the outside before gasping.
"So let's change our approach! Come on bud!" Hoping on Toothless, he and Ragnar took to the sky.
Roaring the Snow Monster swatted at them but Toothless was too fast for it.
Flying in the two waited for it to roar again.
"Now!" Once its mouth was open Toothless fired a plasma blast down its throat causing an explosion making it scream in pain.
"Of course, it's outside is tough but if we attack from the inside." Bloom said.
"Mount up everyone!" Sky said.
As all the dragons took to the sky they flew in formation toward the Snow Monster.
Roaring it was about to create another ice pillar but they weren't going to let that happen again.
"Fire!" Bloom yells.
"Fire!" Ragnar yells.
"Fire!" Mirta yells
"Fire!" The Winx yell.
"Fire!" The Specialists yell.
Releasing a combination of all the dragon's breath attacks followed by the Winx's magic they slammed into the Snow Monster's mouth causing a giant explosion.
When the smoke cleared we see the Snow Monster laying defeated on the ground before the magic around it disappeared revealing it wasn't coming back for Round 3.
Once the battle ended, the two teams met at the gate.
"You guys saved us." Stella smiles.
"We had to." Brandon smiles.
"But how did you find out about our mission?" Tecna asks.
"Red Fountain has been destroyed, so all the Specialists took refuge at Alfea. Mirta found us and told us about the mission so we went straight to Prof. Palladium." Sky said.
"Wait all of you?" Flora asks.
"Some things matter more than hiding a witch at Alfea." Mirta admits rubbing the back of her head.
"He opened up a portal for us but we were still unable to find you. Luckily we have a Tracker class dragon." Sky said gesturing to Skullcrusher.
"All we needed was something that belonged to one of you and we tracked your scent." Timmy said.
"Well what do you say we all head back to Alfea now?" Flora suggests.
"Yes, please. Winter weather is just so bad for my skin." Stella smiles at the thought.
As everyone smiled Bloom and Ragnar were the only ones not happy.
On the ship, they were all flying back to Alfea.
As Stella sat with Musa the two of them turned around to see Ragnar sitting against Toothless in the back while Sneaky snuggled on his lap.
Looking at his face, they saw Ragnar was struggling to deal with all this.
"Hey Stella?" Musa said getting her attention.
"Yeah?" Stella asks.
"Be honest do you right now have a cold feeling inside that says you made a mistake?" Musa asks.
Pausing Stella nods. "I think we messed up Musa and we might have picked the worst time to mess up."
Turning around the two girls leaned back and sighed.
"What do we do?" Stella asks.
"The only thing we can do…we need to figure this out." Musa said both wanting to help put a smile on his face.
Nearby, Mirta sat with Flora and Tecna, Brandon and Timmy were at the wheel and Sky sat next to Bloom.
"Bloom I…I'm—" Sky stutters trying to say the right words.
"Did you say something?" Bloom asks.
"No. Well... Yes, I did. Bloom, I'm sorry about what happened. I broke it off with Diaspro. To be honest, I never really cared that much." Sky confesses.
"Really? I'm sorry. I mean, um, no! I'm not sorry but it's like I am. But, oh, you know what I mean.
"Yeah, Bloom. I know. But you always said to me that I was your friend and nothing more, and so I just..." Looking at Bloom he noticed she was tightening her fists. "Well, it doesn't matter now because I know what I want."
"I, too, made a mistake, Brandon. But some things are just so hard to admit." Bloom said.
"Even the most beautiful thing of all? In any case, I'm sorry about the Brandon-Prince Sky thing." Sky apologizes.
"I forgive you, on one condition." Bloom said.
"Anything you want." Sky assures.
"I get to call you Sky, period. I don't like the "prince" thing, you know." Bloom said making him smile.
"It's a deal." Sky said as everyone laughs. "You know it's funny Ragnar had the same terms as you when I told him."
"You don't say?" Bloom said looking at her brother.
"So what happened out there? Did you find out anything?" Mirta asks.
"And then some not just for Bloom." Stella said.
"What do you mean?" Timmy asks.
"You might want to sit back guys you're not gonna believe what we learned." Flora said
Flying back to Alfea, the Winx and Specialists dealt with many twists and surprises, but none of them were struggling with all of it more than the brother and sister duo.
