Chapter One

Lance hated everything about education. So when her alarm went off at 5:30 in the morning, she hit snooze. And then she snoozed again, and again, and again. Until it was suddenly 8am, deciding it would be best to get up now and not have to completely rush, she groaned and stood up.

Luckily she had showered the night before and set out her outfit for the day so she brushed her black long hair and changed. Lance stepped over the pile of clothes to her bed to see what she picked out of her, she chose a black bra and black underwear with black ripped tights on her legs. She wore and chose a black Memento Moris Tee Dress before adding her silver necklace, black ripped tights with socks in black combat boots. She slipped on socks and her trusted doc martens before heading into her bathroom to brush her teeth.

Once she was done with everything, she grabbed her tote bag and headed downstairs. The Porter house was in the middle of a field meaning she had to walk for a while before getting any type of public transport. Luckily her parents were home and gave her a lift to where she was meeting Effy.

Without even saying goodbye when they arrived, Lance pulled down her sunglasses and jumped out of the car and up to the burger van, buying herself a coke while she waited for Effy. And as if by magic, a car suddenly flew into the bollard beside the van.

Lance laughing to herself as she saw Jim get out of his car and start shouting at everyone, with her coke in hand the black haired girl walked over to the car and grabbed the cigarette from Effy's lips and took it into her own.

"Good morning my love." Lance spoke, the girl had a typical Bristol accent with a slight posh twinge to it. With the cigarette between her lips, she opened her coke and rested her back against the car. She blew out a puff of smoke and took a sip of her coke before giving it to Effy. She wasn't a big fizzy drinker.

"What... What happened?" A boy's voice distracted Jim from shouting at the lady he was basically harassing. Lance raised her sunglasses the tiniest bit to take a look at the boy with the red shirt. He looked to be her age and actually didn't have the worst sense of style, his face half covered in ketchup which she supposed was to look like he was bleeding.

Deciding to ignore it, Lance pulled her sunglasses back outo her eyes and carried on smoking the cigarette. All of a sudden she really regretted not waking up earlier and getting food before she met Effy because the smell of the burger van had her stomach growling.

Lance looked towards the van for a second, debating on whether she fancied a burger for breakfast or not. As she looked around, she caught the boy's eye. This ended up in him forgetting about Jim for a second and kept staring at Lance, only snapping out of it when he felt money being pushed into his hand.

When Effy finally got out of the car, Lance dropped her cigarette and walked towards the boy. She looked him up and down for a moment before dragging her thumb across his jawline, catching the ketchup on the pad of her thumb before sucking it off.

"Smart." Lance smiled before bumping his shoulder as she passed him, catching up with Effy and linking her arm with the shorter girl. Sandi stood at 5'7 which was only a little bit shorter than the boy and 2 inches taller than her best friend.

"Do you reckon he goes to Roundview?" Effy asked.

"He is now." Lance smirked.

Lance and Effy giggled.

"Dad says some things are best left to the imagination. But that's not right, is it?" The curly hair boy asked his two best friends while blatantly staring at the girls' bums.

"Your dad's a stupid tosser, JJ." The ketchup boy replied, also watching the girls walk away.

"Yes. Do you think they're going where we're going?" The curly hair boy asked yet again.

The three boys watched Lance and Effy leave and walked away.

"She is now." The ketchup boy took one last look at Lance in the blue dress before smiling at his best friends and walking towards college.
