Deep beneath Gotham's sewers, in a labyrinthine stronghold lined with high-tech screens and experimental equipment, Gorilla Grodd stands over a restrained Batman. The Dark Knight is bound by a web of metal restraints and faintly glowing energy fields, unconscious and unmoving. Grodd, wearing an expression of both triumph and cruel curiosity, turns as footsteps echo through the dimly lit chamber.
Jotaro, Red Hood, and Batgirl enter cautiously, their eyes trained on the hulking figure of Gorilla Grodd. Grodd's piercing eyes catch sight of them, and his mouth twists into a sneer. He straightens, towering above them, his thick, muscular frame radiating strength and menace.
Grodd (in a deep, resonant voice): "So, the bats have sent reinforcements… and here I was thinking you'd be smarter than to walk willingly into my lair."
Red Hood (drawing his guns): "Your mistake was thinking we'd come alone. You don't know Jotaro."
Grodd's gaze narrows on Jotaro, sizing him up.
Grodd (with a mocking laugh): "Oh, I know him well enough. They call you The Gotham City Stand User. But I'm no fool to underestimate you. Your Stand won't be enough to stop me."
Jotaro (calmly): "Talk all you want. It'll only make it easier when you lose."
Grodd lets out a snarl and slams his fists together, creating a shockwave that ripples through the room. In an instant, he charges, his massive fists swinging down with the force of a wrecking ball. Jotaro, Red Hood, and Batgirl split in three different directions, narrowly avoiding the impact that sends cracks spidering out across the floor.
Batgirl (from the shadows): "We'll split his attention—keep him moving!"
Red Hood begins firing a barrage of incendiary rounds, which Grodd deflects with a sweep of his arm. His telekinetic powers flare to life as he concentrates, and the bullets curve mid-air, smashing into the walls.
Grodd (snarling): "Futile tricks! You cannot outmatch a mind as evolved as mine!"
Jotaro takes advantage of Grodd's momentary distraction and sends Star Platinum hurtling forward. The Stand delivers a barrage of powerful punches to Grodd's side, the force knocking the telepathic gorilla back a step.
Star Platinum: "ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA!"
Grodd roars in frustration and pain, using his telekinesis to push Star Platinum back. He grabs a nearby steel beam, hurling it like a spear toward Jotaro. Batgirl darts in, throwing several electrically charged Batarangs that intercept the beam mid-air, creating a small explosion that fragments it.
Batgirl (calling out to Jotaro and Red Hood): "Keep the pressure on him—he's wearing down!"
Grodd growls, his expression one of both anger and concentration. A psychic shockwave suddenly erupts from him, causing Red Hood to stagger and clutch his head as Grodd's mental energy begins to bear down on him. Grodd's voice echoes telepathically in their minds.
Grodd (telepathically): "I could rip your minds apart in an instant… but where's the fun in that?"
Jotaro, fighting against Grodd's telepathic onslaught, narrows his eyes and focuses. Star Platinum surges forward, once again striking Grodd with a series of precise, unrelenting punches. This time, each hit is aimed to destabilize Grodd's stance, pushing him back toward a control panel filled with equipment and monitors.
Jotaro (with fierce determination): "Star Platinum… The World!"
Time freezes, and Jotaro steps forward, assessing the situation in the suspended moment. He positions himself and Star Platinum in front of Grodd, preparing for a final, powerful blow aimed directly at the telepathic menace.
When time resumes, Star Platinum's fist crashes into Grodd's chest, sending him hurtling back into the control panel. The impact shorts out the machinery, and sparks fly as Grodd struggles to rise, clearly weakened.
Grodd (seething): "No… I refuse to be beaten by… by simple humans!"
Red Hood and Batgirl close in on Grodd as he attempts to stand. Batgirl activates a device that emits high-frequency sounds, disorienting Grodd's enhanced senses and forcing him to stagger back in pain.
Red Hood (smirking): "I'd say you're looking a little less 'evolved' right now."
In one final coordinated attack, Jotaro, Red Hood, and Batgirl move together. Batgirl's explosive Batarangs strike Grodd's legs, weakening his stance. Red Hood leaps in, delivering a powerful punch to Grodd's jaw, followed by Jotaro commanding Star Platinum to unleash a final, devastating barrage.
Star Platinum: "ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA!"
Grodd collapses to the floor, groaning in pain, his telekinetic defenses shattered. With Grodd incapacitated, Batgirl rushes to Batman's restraints, using her tools to quickly disable the energy fields and release him. Batman stirs, slowly regaining consciousness.
Batman (groggily, opening his eyes): "What… what happened?"
Batgirl (smiling with relief): "We're here, Batman. Grodd's down, thanks to them."
Batman looks up, his gaze shifting to Jotaro, who simply nods. Batman slowly stands, his gaze hardening as he turns toward Grodd's defeated form.
Batman (to Jotaro and Red Hood): "Good work. Grodd was planning something catastrophic with Joker… but it's over now, thanks to all of you."
Red Hood (with a smirk): "All in a day's work, Bats."
Jotaro doesn't say anything, his usual stoic demeanor masking his satisfaction at the victory. Together, they look down at Grodd, knowing that, at least for now, one of the world's greatest threats has been neutralized.
Jotaro (to Batman): "However, our work isn't over. I need your skills one last time. I'll explain, but not here."
Batman nods in agreement, his expression grim.
Batman (determined): "Let's head back to the Batcave."
The team exits Grodd's lair together.
