Lucas looked to her. Realizing exactly why she lied. Clay wouldn't understand any of it.
He was so close to his family. They were so normal.
Brooke's family dynamic wasn't that. And if anyone knew how that could be it was me.
(He had what we didn't. I haven't met his family. And he can be judgmental.)
(I've been trying to make things work with him. If I was someone different.)
(He would be perfect for me. But I've been lying to him. About my parents. Our romantic history. And I can't stay in this with him anymore.)
(He's a rebound who I'm not even in love with.) Brooke proclaimed
(So why are you with him?) Lucas asked.
Brooke swallowed hard.
( I have real deep feelings for you. And its wrong. A betrayal to my best friend.)
(So I can't and won't act on it.) Brooke proclaimed.
(I have feelings for you too Brooke. Stronger and deeper than you realize.) Lucas proclaimed.
(I'm going to end things with Clay.) Brooke announced.
