Brock: Brock's Breeder's Trial! Oh hey that's me
After their detour in Cerulean City,the Pokegang have been continuing their journey to Viridian in order to get Ash's eighth gym badge. Having quickly passed through Mt. Moon,the group have now arrived in Pewter City
"It feels like ages since I left." Brock says as they enter the town
"It was a few months ago." Misty replies,"It must feel great to be back home."
"Definitely. I can't wait to see my brothers and sisters again!" Brock says excitedly,"And my father too. I need to check in at the gym."
They head towards the Pewter City gym. Ash is practically bouncing
"I'm getting hyped just remembering our battle!" Ash exclaims
"And how you almost lost miserably." Alex snarks causing Ash to glare at him
"I did not! I had everything under control!" Ash yells
"Keep telling yourself that Ash." Misty replies causing Ash to slump over depressed
"No one believes in me..." Pikachu pats his head comfortingly
"Cheer up Ash. You did win in the end." Brock reminds him.
Ash immediately straightens up,"That's right! I am pretty awesome."
"And humble." Misty retorts

The group arrive at the Pewter Gym. Brock stares up at it
"It looks exactly the same." Brock says
He pushes open the door and enters the gym. The entire room is pitch black
"Hello?" Brock yells
A lone light suddenly shines on a boulder in the middle of the room. Flint is sitting there with his head lowered
"I am Flint. Gym leader of Pewter City. Have you come to challenge me?" Flint asks
"Dad it's me." Brock replies exasperated. Flint looks up startled
"Brock?" All the lights in the gym turn on,"Brock!"
Flint hops off the boulder and heads over to Brock,"I didn't expect to see you home so soon."
"We're just passing through on our way to Viridian City." Brock explains as Ash,Misty and Alex step inside
"Hey Brock's dad! Remember me?" Ash asks
"Hmm. Oh yes you're that boy with the Pikachu." Flint says,"Dash Ketchum."
"It's Ash..." Ash mumbles while Misty and Alex laugh
"And you're Misty and Alex." Flint says
"Yep." Alex replies
"That's me." Misty says
"Ofcourse he remembers them..." Ash groans
Flint turns towards Ash,"You've been collecting gym badges right? How has that been going?"
"Oh I've already gotten seven!" Ash shows off his badges arrogantly,"I just need one more and I can enter the Pokemon League!"
Flint chuckles,"Well then how about a battle?"
Flint and Ash are facing off on the battlefield. Brock,Alex and Misty are watching from the sidelines
"We'll have a one on one battle!" Flint yells,"For my Pokemon I choose Golem!"
He moves to toss his pokeball but as he does pain shoots through his back
"Ah! My back!" The pokeball weakly falls to the ground as Flint clutches his back
"That's embarrassing..." Misty says
"I guess dad's not as young as he used to be." Brock says embarrassed
The pokeball activates and Golem pops out
Go...
Golem suddenly clutches it's back in pain too
Lem!
"Neither is Golem." Alex chuckles
"Alright. I choose Squirtle!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Squirtle appears
Squirtle!
"A Water Pokemon." Flint laughs,"You know my wife loves Water Pokemon."
Misty's eyes widen,"She does!" She turns towards Brock,"Why didn't you ever mention this Brock!"
"My mom loves a lot of things." Brock replies a little sharply
"Maybe you should drop it." Alex whispers to Misty
"Now then. Golem use Rollout!" Flint yells and Golem curls up into a ball before rolling straight towards Squirtle
"Squirtle use Water Gun!" Ash yells and Squirtle fires the Water Gun. As soon as the attack makes contact with Golem it faints
"Ahhh!" Flint yells shocked
"Wow. A flawless victory." Alex says stunned
Brock groans and hides his face in his hands
"Yeah! Way to go Squirtle!" Ash cheers
Pika Pikachu!
Squirtle puts it's sunglasses on and poses cheerfully
Squirt! Squirtle Squirtle!
Team Rocket,in disguise ofcourse,are scoping out the Pewter City Museum
"This place sucks." Jessie groans
"Yeah." Meowth agrees,"I thought there would be something good ta swipe but it's just a bunch of old useless fossils."
"How could you say that!" James asks in disbelief,"This is history. Important history. Look at this. This is a fossil of an ancient Aerodactyl. How else would we learn about these extinct Pokemon?"
"James...we've seen a living Aerodactyl." Jessie reminds him exasperated
"Yes but this one isn't trying to eat us."
"Let's just accept this was a bust." Meowth says,"We can go and try ta swipe the gym leader's Pokemon."
The door to Brock's house opens and Flint and Brock enter with the rest of the group following behind
"Hey everyone!" Brock yells
Forrest peaks out of the kitchen. His face lights up when he sees Brock,"Brock! Everyone Brock is home!"
A stampede of feet is heard as all of Brock's siblings rush into the room
"Brock!"
"Welcome home Brock!"
"We missed you!"
"I've missed you all too." Brock says happily,"Have you been keeping out of trouble?"
"Ofcourse we have." Salvadore says
"What about you Brock?" Yolanda asks,"How has travelling been?"
"It's been great." Brock replies,"Oh that reminds me,you guys haven't met my friends."
Brock turns towards the others,"These are Ash,Alex,Misty,Pikachu and Togepi. Guys these are my brothers and sisters. Forrest,Yolanda,Salvadore,Tommy,Cindy,Suzie,Timmy,Billy and Tilly."
"Hi." Ash and Misty say
Pikachu!
"Woah. It's like looking at a bunch of mini-Brocks." Alex says stunned. He looks over at Flint and then back at Brock's siblings,"Did none of you inherit your mother's looks?"
"The Harrison family genes are strong." Flint brags
"Ah huh." Alex replies
"Ooh Brock have you caught any new Pokemon?" Suzie asks excitedly
"Yeah I've caught a few." Brock replies
"Can we see them?" Timmy asks excited,"Please."
"Sure. Let's head over to the gym first though. I don't want to make a mess of the house." Brock says
"Thank you." Flint sighs in relief
Brock has led everyone back to the Pewter Gym. His siblings are crowded around him excited
"Alright go!" Brock tosses his pokeballs and Onix and Geodude appear
RARRR
Geodude!
"Hi Onix! Hi Geodude!"
Brock's siblings crowd arond Onix and Geodude saying hello. The younger ones touch them excitedly
Geo Geodude
Onix roars softly and lets the two twins climb along his head
"Wow Brock. I didn't know Onix and Geodude were so good with kids." Misty says surprised
"Well Onix and Geodude have known my brothers and sisters for a long time. This is normal for them." Brock explains
"Can we see your other Pokemon?" Cindy asks excited
"Ofcourse. Come on out everyone!" Brock tosses four pokeballs
Zu Zubat!
Trio. Trio Trio
Vulpix!
Mmmm!
"Wow!" The siblings crowd around Brock's newer Pokemon. Yolanda and Cindy start petting Vulpix who yawns contently. Salvadore rides around on Tauros' back while Dugtrio entertains Suzie,Timmy,Billy and Tilly by popping each of it's heads in and out of the ground. Zubat meanwhile has perched on Forrest's arm and Tommy is feeding it
"Your Pokemon get along great with your siblings." Ash says
Pika
"You should be proud of yourself Brock." Flint says,"You raised all these Pokemon well."
"Oh thanks dad." Brock says a little stunned. He glances down at the last pokeball on his belt and Flint notices it
"What's that?" Flint asks
"It's..." Brock looks unsure,"A Pokemon I haven't raised too well."
Flint looks at him confused
"Here. Let's move away from the others and I'll show you." Brock says and him and Flint walk to the other side of the gym. Brock takes out his pokeball,"Stand back a little."
Brock gently tosses the pokeball and Flint yells in shock as Aerodactyl appears
Aero!
"How...how..." Flint is at a lost for words. He reaches out to touch Aerodactyl but Aerodactyl snaps at him
"Return Aerodactyl!" Brock returns his Pokemon
"Brock...that was an Aerodactyl. The extinct Pokemon." Flint says dumbfounded,"How did you catch that?"
"It's a bit of a long story." Brock says,"But I've had it with me for awhile now. I've made no progress on taming it though. I'm not sure what to do anymore..."
Flint looks thoughtful,"Tomorrow we can pay a visit to the museum. Maybe someone there will have an idea."
"That's a good idea. Thanks dad." Brock says
"Ahhh help!" They suddenly hear Alex yell. They turn and see that Salvadore is using Tauros to chase Alex around the gym
"It was a joke!" Alex yells
The next day Brock and Flint have gone to the Pewter City Museum. They are talking to one of the researchers
"Prehistoric Pokemon don't have the same history with humans as modern day Pokemon do." The researcher explains,"Back in their times humans and Pokemon were enemies. Aerodactyl especially is a predator who during it's time was near the top of the foodchain so it's less likely to show you respect."
"So what am I supposed to do?" Brock asks,"I've been trying to train it but it refuses to listen to me and has attacked me on multiple occasions."
"You have to earn it's respect." The researcher says
Brock is in a field by himself. He tosses his pokeball and Aerodactyl appears
Aero! Aero!
"Alright Aerodactyl I'm going to put this bowl of food down here. You may eat it if you want." Brock places the bowl down and backs away
Aerodactyl stares at it suspiciously. It leans closer and sniffs it before taking a bite
Aero!
It starts eating more
"See it's good right?" Brock asks,he bends down and places the pokeball on the ground,"Now I'm going to back away and not force you back into your pokeball. If you want to go back in then it's your choice."
Brock steps back. Aerodactyl stares at the pokeball and then at Brock. It looks like it might take flight but goes back to eating. Brock lets out a breath
"That was close."
A net suddenly falls on Aerodactyl
"What!"
Aerodactyl starts thrashing around trying to get free. Brock hears laughing and looks up to see the Meowth Balloon floating above Aerodactyl
"Team Rocket!" Brock yells
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James: Make it double!
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now or prepare to fight!
Meowth: Meowth! That's right!
Aero! Aero!
"Let Aerodactyl go immediately!" Brock yells
"Hmm? Nah!" They yell
"This is a goldmine!" Jessie yells
"If we give our boss a living Aerodactyl we'll be promoted for sure!" James yells
"So what we're saying is...say goodbye to Aerodactyl!" Meowth yells
The balloon starts flying away dragging the net with Aerodactyl
"Come back!" Brock yells. He pulls out his pokeball and tosses it, "Go Zubat!"
Zubat!
Zubat flies towards the balloon
"Oh no!" Jessie yells,"Arbok go!"
Chabok!
Arbok fires Poison Sting at Zubat who dodges. It bites into the balloon popping it
"We're going down!"
Team Rocket's balloon crashes. Brock rushes over
"Nice work Zubat!" Brock turns towards Team Rocket and reaches for another pokeball,"Now give me back my Aerodactyl!"
"You'll have to take it back!" Jessie yells,"Go Lickitung!"
"Go Weezing!" James yells
Licki Lickitung!
Weezing!
Brock is about to give a command when Lickitung suddenly shoots out it's tongue and licks him
"Ahh!" Brock collapses to the ground paralyzed
"Now Smokescreen!" James yells and Weezing fires out the smoke covering up the area. Once the smoke has cleared Team Rocket is gone with Aerodactyl
"Aerodactyl!" Brock pushes himself back to his feet. He sees track marks on the ground
"Go Tauros!"
Mmm!
Brock struggles to climb onto Tauros' back,"Tauros follow those tracks!"
Mmmm!
Tauros takes off running
Team Rocket is dragging Aerodactyl behind them
"This thing is heavy!" Meowth yells
"Quit whining and pull!" Jessie yells,"We have to get out of here before that twerp finds us!"
"Team Rocket!" They hear Brock yelling. They turn and see Tauros charging directly towards them with Brock on his back
"Ahhh!"
"Arbok Poison Sting!" Jessie commands and Arbok fires the Poison Sting. Tauros avoids the attack but stops it's charge
"I thought the other twerp was more irritating!" Jessie yells
"Where are the other twerps anyway?" James asks
"Don't jinx us!" Meowth yells,"We just have to deal with one twerp!"
Brock hops off of Tauros' back,"I won't let you steal Aerodactyl!"
"Then let's battle!" Jessie yells and tosses her pokeball and Lickitung appears
Licki! Lickitung!
"Go Weezing and Victreebel!" James yells
Weezing!
Victreebel jumps onto James
"Not me! Not me!" James yells
Meowth extends his claws,"Let's get him!"
Meowth,Arbok,Weezing,Victreebel and Lickitung rush towards Brock
"Tauros use Earthquake!" Brock yells
Tauros rears back before slamming it's hooves onto the ground. The entire ground shakes throwing the Pokemon off balance
"Woah!"
"Now Vulpix use Flamethrower!" Brock yells as he tosses his pokeball
Vulpix!
Vulpix fires the Flamethrower hitting Victreebel
Beellll!
"Oh no Victreebel!" James yells as his Pokemon faints
"Arbok Poison Sting!" Jessie yells and Arbok spits out the needles. However Zubat,who has been hovering around,fires a stream of purple liquid hitting the Poison Sting and knocking it to the side
"Now Geodude go!" Brock tosses another pokeball and Geodude appears
Geo! Geodude!
Geodude grabs Arbok by the tail and starts twirling it in the air like it's a lasso
Chaboook!
Geodude then throws Arbok sending it into Meowth
"Owww!"
"Arbok! You'll pay for that!" Jessie yells
"Go Dugtrio!" Brock tosses his next pokeball and Dugtrio appears
Trio Trio!
Dugtrio digs underground and rushes towards Lickitung. It pops up knocking Lickitung aside
Licki!
"Weezing use Smog!" James yells
"Onix go!" Brock tosses his pokeball and Onix appears
Rarrrrr!
"It's Onix!" Team Rocket yell and they all turn to start running
"Onix use Rock Throw!" Brock yells
Onix rips a chunk of rock out of the mountain before tossing it towards Team Rocket. It strikes them and sends them flying into the air
"We're blasting off again!" ding
"We did it! Nice going everyone." Brock congratulates his Pokemon

Trio Trio
Mmmm
Brock rushes over to Aerodactyl who is still struggling to get out of the net,"I'm here Aerodactyl."
Brock tries to reach for the net but Aerodactyl tries to bite him,"Ah! Aerodactyl I'm trying to help you! You have to trust me."
Aerodactyl stares at Brock guarded but doesn't make a move as Brock grabs the net. He breaks it apart freeing Aerodactyl who stretches out it's wings

"There. You're free." Brock says
Aerodactyl stares at Brock
Aero...
It leans closer to him
"Hmm?" Brock slowly reaches his hand forward and touches Aerodactyl's head. He rubs it's head
Aero
Brock and his friends are preparing to depart from Pewter City. They are standing outside the gym with Brock's family
"Goodluck for your gym battle Dash." Flint says
"It's Ash..." Ash moans
"And Brock. Keep following your dreams son."
"Thank you dad. I will." Brock replies
"Bye Brock!" Brock's siblings all hug him
"I'll miss you guys."
Brock and his friends head out to continue their journey to Viridian City
Meanwhile
Andrew arrives at one of Team Rocket's bases. He is still injured. One of his men rushes over to him,"Sir! What happened to you!"
"Stupid brats interfering where they don't belong..." Andrew mutters to himself,"Get the men ready."
"Why sir? Are we going after whoever did this to you?" The grunt asks
"No." Andrew replies angrily,"I think it's time we had a change in leadership."

Admittedly this isn't one of my best chapters. I wanted to do a chapter in Pewter City since they would have had to pass through it to get to Viridian in the first place,and I figured it may as well focus on Brock. It didn't come out the way I planned but oh well. Sometimes you miss. Anyways next chapter will be the gym battle in Viridian City
