I DO NOT OWN TOTAL DRAMA (or mha)
BEARDO
Beardo was having the time of his life. He was DJing at a rave and while some would say it wasn't anything new, he would say it was one of the best gigs he's had. It was his first rave in months and he'd say it was going great. Everyone was jumping up and down, dancing and swinging to the beat, he was even able to add a little of his own beat boxing to his music. Just the looks on everyone's faces totally beats the birthday parties and school dances he's worked at. Those kids had no taste in music, at least Beardo's taste in music.
Beardo, needing a bathroom break, played a new song on repeat and left his station. He headed down the stairs and continued to beatbox to the song playing even when no one could hear him. As he made it to the ground floor, he bobbed his head to the music and everyone dancing. While he was in the bathroom, his eyes rolled in the back of his head for a second and then returned back to normal.
He turned the sink on and watched as the water fell. For some reason, it seemed like the water was coming out slower than expected. He wasn't bothered by it and instead, he used the soap and scrubbed his hands slowly. As if that wasn't enough, he even began a new, slower beat box, one that moved as slow as the water. Unknown to him, everything outside the bathroom slowed down as well. In fact, they were moving as slow as Beardo's beat, but no one seemed to notice.
Beardo left the bathroom and everything was moving back at normal speed, not that he knew of any of it. He went back up to his station and decided to play a new song. Only this time, he added his own slow whistle beat to the remix. He's moving the player slowly and then looks up to see how everyone is enjoying it. But what he sees shocks him.
Everyone and everything except him is moving slower. Not just walking pace or slow walking, but actually like something you'd see from slow playing a DVD player. He gasped at what he was seeing, but an actual gasp and not something he'd beatboxed. And just like that, the whole rave was moving at a normal speed again.
Beardo was looking at everyone, eyes widened in confusion and fear. He seemed to be the only one not affected by any of this because no one there seemed to be acknowledging anything other than the music. Beardo was beginning to wonder if he imagined the whole thing, maybe he's just tired or had too many soda's. He had after all worked a lot of gigs this past week so maybe exhaustion was catching up to him. He was definitely taking a long nap when this was all over.
He decided to try and relax, taking a break and letting another slow song play. He rested his chin on his hand and rested his elbow on the table, using his other hand to rub in between his eyes as if he had a headache. He then decided to do something else to help him relax, close his eyes and start whistling. It may have seemed a little weird to others but for Beardo, it always helped him slow down and do something simple. After all, he made sound effects more than words with his mouth.
He took another peek down below to see how the audience was doing, and he was shocked to see it was happening again. Everyone except Beardo was moving very very slowly, like they were underwater or something. However, Beardo didn't stop whistling because he noticed something this time. The whole rave wasn't just slowing down, they were moving at the same pace as his whistling. He decided to put this to the test.
He stopped whistling and as he predicted, everything moved normally again. He didn't know how but he was able to control the speed of everything just from his voice. So, he went back to his station and tried doing a fast pace drum beatbox. He got confused though because nothing happened, nobody moved faster like he thought they would. So he decided to try another approach. He grabbed the microphone and said something random.
"Y'all feeling good tonight!" Beardo said out to everyone, who cheered and raised their drink. "So, how about I play a moment of silence and everyone freezes!"
He could see the looks of disagreement and shaking heads, but he didn't care. He stopped the music and said "pause" loudly in the mic with a pop sound. Instead of everyone freezing, they just booed Beardo and told him to turn the music back on. Confused and embarrassed, he turned the music back on and everyone was back to dancing.
Beardo didn't understand what the problem was, maybe he was right the first time and he was just going nuts from lack of sleep. He decided to do one last thing just to be sure. He stood up, leaned into the microphone, and began to say a very deep and slow "ahhh" sound. This time, it actually worked because for a third time, everything slowed down.
He stopped as he was beginning to figure it out. It seems he was only able to slow things down, and using direct words didn't work. Also, apparently music itself had nothing to do with this weird thing that was happening. Everything depended on his own voice, and now that he was thinking more about this, he realized that none of it made any sense. He had no idea how he was able to do this or how long he's had this ability. He had a lot to figure out, that was for sure.
BEARDO
Quirk: Slow-mo
He's basically a human beatbox, but whenever he makes slow sound effects, everything around him slows down as well. The effects depend on how slow he can beatbox.
