BRIDGETTE
Bridgette was at the beach doing her favorite thing in the world, surfing. It was a good thing she lived in a perfect place to practice just that. She had lived in Canada her whole life, a place that happened to have the perfect beaches and the best waves. Of course she had friends from LA and Hawaii that would argue that theirs are better, but she wasn't that competitive about it. After all, the more places she had to surf, the better. Plus it gave her a good excuse to get out and do some traveling, and she was always open to travel. Except for the woods of course, she hated the woods, it was the opposite of the beach, especially at night.
She was snapped out of her by the sound of her watch going off. She had a good idea what that beeping meant, but she figured she should double check. She finished up on the waves and surfed back towards the beach. Once she was close, she picked up her board and checked her watch. She looked and saw that her surfing class was in a couple of hours. Along with school and occasionally helping out in her dads surf shop, she taught surfing lessons to people of different ages. Some lessons were better than others though because in certain cases she wasn't allowed to let her students get in the water right away, but it didn't bother her that much. After all, everyone learns on their own time.
She headed back to her family's surf shop where she stepped in and greeted her dad who was at the register.
"Hey dad." Bridgette said with a wave. Her father smiled and nodded, finishing up with the customer at the register. He then turned his attention to her.
"Hey Bridge." He said. "How were the lessons today?"
"Actually, that's not until later." Bridgette said. "I was just doing my regular surfing in my free time."
"Really?" Her dad asked, raising an eyebrow. "Don't you ever get tired of surfing that long all the time?"
Both of them stared at each other for a moment in silence, and then burst out laughing. Bridgette held her stomach while her dad banged his fist on the counter.
"Ah, please," Bridgette said, calming down. "As if I'd ever get tired of anything related to surfing."
"Same goes for me." Her dad said. He gestured his arms out towards the entire store, looking around. "The waves and this shop are in our blood. They were in your mothers blood as well."
Bridgette's smile dropped when her dad mentioned her mom. Her dad noticed this and walked over to his daughter, putting a shoulder over her arm.
"Hey come on now." Her dad gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't get so down. If your mother were here today, she'd be very proud of you."
"Thanks dad." Bridgette said with a nod.
"You gonna get changed before you head back out?"
"Nah, there's no point." She removed herself from the hug. "I'm probably just going to get in the water again."
Her dad shrugged. "Suit yourself."
Bridgette then walked upstairs to get ready for later, unaware that her eyes rolled in the back of her head for a second and then returned to normal.
Hours later, Bridgette is back on the beach and she is standing in front of a group of people with their own surfboards. She actually recognized these students as underclassmen from her school. Which is why she knew that some of them were more experienced at surfing than others, they just needed more practice.
"Hey guys." She greeted the underclassmen. "So normally, I would start off with practicing your balance and stance on the beach. But I feel like you guys might be ready to literally jump in the deep end."
A few of them shared a laugh with Bridgette.
"So, who wants to ride the waves?" Bridgette asked. One person raised their hand.
"I do, I'm ready." The guy who raised his hand, Tony, said. He stepped forward, carrying his surfboard.
"Cool." She then turned to everyone else. "The rest of you, pay close attention to what we're doing while we're out there. And if you can't see us from here, don't be afraid to try and watch us from the water. It'll give you a good head start in our lessons."
Bridgette and Tony took their boards to the water and started swimming them towards the waves. Bridgette let Tony go ahead to see what he could do and then offer some pointers. SO far he was okay, but he was too eager and needed to be more balanced. Once she was finished with her wave, she could offer him some advice.
When her time came, she stood on top of her surfboard and was ready to ride the waves. However, something strange happened as Bridgette got closer. Her hand lightly touched the wave, which was all it took for it to happen so fast. Bridgette's hand was pulled into the wave, and then her entire body, becoming water itself. She had no idea what was happening, she felt as though she was being pulled and pushed in every direction, like she had somehow become the ocean she would always surf in. She saw the land up ahead and that was all it took for her body to materialize. She was now back on the beach, on her hands and knees and breathing heavily. When she looked up, she saw that a few people stared at her but otherwise they paid no mind.
"Hey!" Bridgette turned her head to see that it was Tony who spoke, coming back on his surfboard. "Where'd you go, I thought you were right behind me? And where's your board?"
Bridgette just stared at him, then looked back at the ground, too freaked out to speak.

She can merge with any water she touches, becoming water herself. However, her mobility is limited to the amount of water she touches when she uses this power.
