Chapter 122: The Search
Wrath Ring…
Gaara was sitting in front of a table that had ceramic clay on it, concentrating heavily as his hands were held out.
The clay, which was full of sand, moved, contorted, and stretched into a… 'shape' Gaara wanted.
It was an owl.
Gaara smiled as he began to defined the details, until a bag hit his head.
"Shukaku, what's this for?" Gaara asked as he took the bag off, looking at it before looking at his mentor.
"Get your shit ready." Shukaku said as he turned his back, looking up and down his shelf, his brow furled as he looked for something. "We're going to the human world."
Gaara quirked an eyebrow.
"Where we going?"
"LA… fuck, where is that Asmodean crystal?" Shukaku shouted in annoyance as he started throwing things off of the shelf trying to find the crystal.
Meanwhile…
"Thanks for picking me up." Fuu thanked before yawning as they left the hospital.
"It's not a problem, Fuu." Naruto said as he sat in the back with Fuu and Andromeda while Verosika driving the car.
Loona was with Blitz, Millie, and Moxxie at IMP currently.
Fuu smiled slightly as Andromeda clung to her left hand, as if she was thinking if she let go, Fuu would disappear.
'To think when we met, you didn't like me for my lack of boobs, but now…' Fuu scratched Andy's ear, making her tail wag. 'You cling to me.'
"You okay?" Naruto asked as he put his hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, just… feel lost still… I mean… I want to find Shino… but…" Her face softened into sadness, which Andromeda sensed and clung to her aunt tighter. "I can't imagine myself finding him…"
Naruto saw her tear up slightly.
His ears lowered in thought.
Until they perked up when a stray thought crossed his mind.
'No… that… hm…' He pondered.
He continued to think before he bit the bullet.
"Fuu… would you like to make a deal?"
Verosika hit the brakes, the car SCREECHING to a violent and loud halt.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST ASK HER!" Verosika screamed as her head whipped around to face her husband.
Naruto flinched at his wife's outburst.
"I offered her a deal…"
"What do you mean?" Fuu asked before Verosika could continue yelling at Naruto.
"Okay… right, I gotta explain that…" Naruto said, scratching his cheek. "Well…"
Meanwhile, IMP…
"Here you go, Stolas." Blitz said as he handed the grimoire over to Stolas.
"Thank you, Blitzy." Stolas said with a bright smile.
Stolas, Octavia, Riser, and Esther were present in the office, all in their human disguises. Esther had to have a small glamor charm on her wrist to keep her disguise on, due to not being consciously aware to use magic quite yet.
"Are you sure I can keep the grimoire with me all day?" Stolas asked as he used his book to open a portal. "We are planning on coming back late tonight or tomorrow morning."
"We can just take the day off." Blitz said as he looked at his workers.
Millie and Moxxie were eating breakfast.
Loona was at her desk working on some paperwork.
"So just go have fun with your family, champ." Blitz said as he spun Stolas around, tapped his butt, and pushed him toward the open portal.
Stolas, blushing like no tomorrow, walked through the portal, but instead of closing it, he turned and gave Blitz a kiss on the forehead.
"Until we meet again, Blitz." Stolas said before he closed the portal.
"OOOOOOOOOOH~" Millie swooned. "You two have been doing well."
"Yeah, he doesn't call you 'Blitzy' as much anymore." Moxxie pointed out, only hearing the name be used once.
Blitz crossed his arms, turning so they wouldn't see his blushing smirk.
Meanwhile…
Having stopped at a fast-food joint, Naruto, Fuu, Andy, and a disguised Verosika (Not wanting to draw to much attention to herself) waited for their order to be called as Naruto explained what he meant by 'a deal'.
"… in short, you get my soul, and I 'gain' something and you own me?" Fuu surmised.
"Yes."
Fuu sighed, propping her arms on the table and pressing her head against her hands.
She took several minutes to think.
Their order was called, Naruto leaving the table to grab the food.
"Find Shino…" Fuu mumbled as Naruto sat down. "If I say yes, you must find Shino. That is my condition, Naruto."
"Fuu, you should think about this more." Verosika said as she put her hand on Fuu's shoulder. "This is not something to be taken lightly. A Deal can only be broken when the Overlord chooses."
"I know, Naruto said as much earlier." Fuu said as her voice trembled, her hands gripping each other tightly. "But if I can find Shino faster, then selling my soul to my friend is worth it."
"Why are you so accepting?" Naruto asked as he handed Fuu her food.
"Because I don't want a repeat of a few days ago." Fuu admitted. "I don't want to lose myself in grief. I need to anchor myself, I need a purpose. If selling myself to Naruto accomplishes this, then I don't see it as a bad thing."
She wiped her eyes and smiled.
"Besides, I'd never be able to be around Andy if I lost myself, right?" She joked, smiling a shakily bright smile.
Verosika and Naruto nodded in agreement as the baby lulled in the borrowed highchair.
"Well, are we going to do this, Pussy?" Fuu asked playfully to Naruto.
"Yep." Naruto replied, feeling levity that his friend was doing her best to move forward.

"…"
"Well…" Verosika asked as she looked from Naruto to Fuu and vice versa. "Are you going to make the deal?"
"Honestly," Naruto scratched the back of his head. "I don't know how…"
Fuu and Verosika fell out of their chairs.
"YOU WHAT!"
Skip, Hazbin Hotel…
"You want me to explain how to make a deal?" Husker asked Naruto as he, Verosika, and Fuu sat at his bar while Angel Dust and Charlie fawned over Andromeda.
"Yeah…" Naruto said sheepishly, sporting two large welts on his head, courtesy of Fuu and Verosika hitting him earlier.
"Well… I can help." Husker said as he finished cleaning the glass he was cleaning. "But, it's gonna cost ya."
Naruto quirked an eyebrow.
"One card game, high stakes money." Husker said as he leaned over the counter. "You, me, and a few people I know who are high class gamblers."
"Sure, I guess." Naruto agreed.
Husker smiled as he walked from behind the bar, walking up to Naruto and Fuu, spinning them to face each other.
"Hold out your hand, channel magic into it." Husker instructed, remembering his time as an Overlord, which felt SO long ago, yet not that long ago at the same time. "Put intent on making a deal. It should act accordingly."
Naruto and Fuu held out their right hands, Naruto channeling magic into his false hand.
Naruto focused his magic, his intent, on making a deal.
'Fuu is my equal.' Naruto thought hard, not wanting this deal to be a traditional one. 'I don't need a servant. I am just helping my friend, my equal, find her purpose.'
Husker quirked an eyebrow as orange magic began to swell around Naruto's prosthetic hand.
Burnt orange kanji swirled around his hand.
"Good," Husker said as he looked at Fuu. "Take his hand to seal the deal."
Fuu didn't hesitate as she took Naruto's hand.
As a former overlord, Husker expected a collar and chain to appear around Fuu's neck, and the chain wrapping around Naruto's wrist. It was what happened when he made deals and when he made his fateful deal with Alastor.
Yet, something surprised Husker.
The magic that covered naruto's hand spread across and entered Fuu's body.
It spread, coating her like a shroud before fading into her body, and on the back of her had was a black spiral looking tattoo.
"Woah… What did you do?" Fuu asked as she looked at the mark, and then flexing her hands. "I feel stronger all of a sudden… Like magically and physically."
"Yeah…" Naruto added as he felt his magic increase drastically. "Me too."
"Naruto, what was your intention?" Husker asked as he looked at the mark, seeing small kanji writing glowing within the black line.
"I didn't need a slave." Naruto said as he pulled his hand back, looking at his palm. "I just… wanted something to make us equals. So, when we find Shino, Fuu would be able to live her life as she pleased, despite me now owning her soul."
A sharp, radiolike laugh rippled in the air, making the sinners and Lycan turn toward the stairs.
Alastor laughed as he walked down the stairs, walking toward the bar.
"So, you have taken your first soul." Alastor said as his smile was a bit bigger. "Congratulations, you've taken your first step toward greatness. But…"
Husker snarled internally as he walked back behind the bar.
"Making the bargain 'equal'?' Alastor gave a curt laugh. "Preposterous."
His eyes became radio dials and his horns began to grow.
"To truly show your control over your servants, you need to dominate them. Show them whose the boss."
Fuu recoiled as she had never seen Alastor do something like this.
Many people within the hotel felt Alastor's power rise.
Naruto laughed.
Alastor quirked an eyebrow as the Lycan walked past him, returning to his normal self.
"I'm good, but thanks for the advice, Al." Naruto said, gesturing for Fuu to follow him. "I don't need servants."
Alastor kept his composure, but his eyes held an irritation that would not go away as Naruto approached Charlie.
"Charlie, I need a favor."
"Ask and I shall do what I can." Charlie said as she cuddled with Andromeda.
"I need help in finding a particular Sinner, two actually, and you have connections." Naruto explained, Fuu seeing that Naruto was upholding his part of their deal. "I want to find Shino Aburame and Gaara."
"How do you intend to do that?" Vaggie asked, genuinely curious on how Naruto expected Charlie to help him.
"A simple idea, one SO simple I am mad at myself for not thinking of it sooner." Naruto admitted with a smile.
Skip, Evening, Human World, Los Angeles…
"Geez, the California sun suuuuucks…" Riser complained as he wiped sweat off of his forehead.
The sun beat down on the family of four as they walked through the city of Las Angeles, trying to find the perfect place to watch Azathoth's Tears.
"I'm sweating…" Octavia complained, adjusting her shirt collar to allow some air into her clothing, trying to cool off somewhat.
Esther just sat in her stroller, napping peacefully.
Stolas chuckled as he looked up, trying to find a place for them to watch the meteor shower.
"POTTERY, BRAND NEW MADE POTTERY, MADE BY HAND IN OUR OWN INFERNO KILN!"
Stolas's attention was brought down to the street.
All day they had been assaulted by scammers trying to sell them useless junk.
However, this person was different.
"Gaara?"
Octavia and Riser's attention was grabbed, looking at Stolas, turning to follow his gaze.
Their eyes widened as the caller faced them, his own eyes widening.
"GAARA!" Riser and Octavia shouted, running to him.
"Octavia, Riser?" Gaara said in surprise as they hugged him.
He immediately hugged them.
Octavia had tears in her eyes threatening to fall as she clung to him.
Riser's breathing was ragged, but controlled as he hugged the younger man.
"ASSHOLE!" Octavia shouted, pulling away to hit Gaara's shoulder. "WHY DIDN'T YOU COME FIND US!"
"Octavia…" Stolas said as he approached them, kneeling to calm Esther, who had been startled awake from all the yelling.
"Sorry, I've been busy." Gaara apologized. "I wanted to find you, but something came up and I really wanted to get that finished first."
"What was so important?" Riser asked as he looked Gaara up and down.
He could tell Gaara was in a human disguise, from the magic covering him, and the fact that Riser had seen Shino and Gaara's dead bodies all that time ago at the DHORK HQ.
"When I awoke in Hell…"
"I became his mentor and started teaching him how to control his powers or else he could kill himself easily."
Stolas, Riser, and Octavia looked down.
Shukaku looked up at them, an irritated scowl and twitching eyebrow showing how angry he was.
Shukaku's human disguise stood at 4 feet three inches.
He had dusty blond hair with hazel eyes. He had sprawling blue tattoos covering his arms. he was wearing tank top and jean shorts along with sandals.
"Sorry, I'm not acquainted." Octavia said not sure how to feel about the glare this person was giving her and her family.
"Oh, I am SORRY your 'Majesty'." Shukaku said with a bow, his tine being insulting which ruffled Octavia's feathers. "But I am just a HUMBLE ceramic artist trying to sell his wares."
"He is Shukaku, my mentor I had mentioned." Gaara explained, earning a nod from Riser and Stolas while Octavia crossed her arms.
"And what, pray tell, is keeping you away from coming back?" Octavia asked hotly, Riser trying to keep her calm as Stolas approached Gaara.
"Gaara, have you seen Shino? You two both died at the same time, so you'd probably know where he is." Stolas asked, remembering what had happened to Fuu a few days prior.
Stolas knew Naruto had a plan set in motion from his text messages earlier that day, but if Stolas could speed that up, then Stolas would take any chance or opportunity he could.
"Yeah, I saw Shino a while ago." Gaara explained in a Matter-of-Fact tone. "He said he was going through some training of his own that is going to be a while. So," Gaara scratched his chin. "I am not sure what to do."
"We shouldn't worry, Naruto has an idea that he is developing with our Princess as we speak." Stolas explained, having been receiving updates from Naruto all day, leaving them on read which Naruto had accepted. Stolas sighed in relief. "It's good to know that Shino is able to be found, after what happened."
Riser and Octavia's faces softened as they nodded.
Gaara tilted his head.
"What happened to Fuu…" Gaara's eyes widened, grabbing Stolas. "PLEASE TELL ME SHE DIDN'T DIE!"
Meanwhile, Greed Ring, Lucky Seven Casino…
Shino meditated.
He was surrounded my hundreds of demonic insects, many crawling over him.
Several were entering his body as Chomei observed carefully.
"Good, good, Shino. The insects are now seeing your body as the nest." Chomei congratulated. "Keep it up."
Chomei's attention was pulled away when his phone went off.
"What is it?"
"Sir, uh… I don't know how to explain this… but the Princess is looking for your apprentice…"
Chomei felt a lump in his throat.
'Why would she want with Shino?'
"What happened?"
Meanwhile, Pride Ring, Hazbin Hotel…
"… search for Shino Aburame and Gaara Sabaku. If you know their whereabouts, please send them to the Hazbin Hotel." Charlie said for the second time before ending the transmission.
"Do I know how to send a message or what?" Charlie asked Naruto confidently.
"Eh, six out of ten."
"You sassy bitch."
The two chuckled, getting eye rolls from the residence of the Hotel.
The only one NOT laughing was Alastor, who was glaring at Naruto and Andromeda.
Human World…
"So, are you going to come back with us?" Riser asked Gaara as everyone, including Shukaku, sat down on the sand of the beach, preparing to watch Azathoth's Tears.
Gaara pulled his attention away from Esther, who enjoyed his company.
He looked toward the skies.
"I think I'll keep my training my focus for now." Gaara answered with sadness in his tone. "I don't want to accidently hurt anyone…"
Gaara proved his point after making sure no humans were around.
He applied magic to the nearby sand, making it take the shape of a small messy sand castle, which Esther found interesting.
"If I am careless, I could hurt someone… or you." Gaara said as he looked at Octavia.
"I understand." She said as she leaned into the disguised Sinner. "But, when you are finished, you come back to us… understood?"
Gaara, Riser, and Stolas smiled.
Gaara leaned into Octavia, taking her hand.
"I understand."
"Look." Stolas said as he pointed up.
"Wow…"
Everyone was blown away from how beautiful the meteor shower was.
All but Shukaku, who was resting on a lounge chair with a bottle of Tequilla and a bag of limes.
'I wish I had some coconuts.' Shukaku thought as he watched the astral display.
Stolas took Esther, cuddling with her as Riser, Octavia, and Gaara snuggled under the stars.
Next Morning, Hazbin Hotel…
Charlie's eyes blinked, her vision blurry from a mix of her and Vaggie's air.
Smiling, she kissed Vaggie's cheek, earning a smile.
Carefully getting up, Charlie with Razzle and Dazzle went to the kitchen, ready to make some breakfast for herself.
The tea kettle was boiling, eggs were being fried, and bacon was sizzling.
Razzle and Dazzle floated around Charlie as she poured the hot water into a coffee filter filled with ground coffee grams.
Once it was filtered, a single cube of sugar and vanilla cream was added before she stirred it.
Charlie raised the cup to her lips… only to lower it when she heard a knock at the front door.
'It's quite early, so I should get it.' Charlie thought as she put her cup down, grabbing a robe before heading to the door.
"Hello," Charlie said as she opened the door. "Welcome to the… Hazbin… Hotel…"
She looked at the person before her.
It was Chomei.
He was all alone.
Charlie felt intimidated, due to how tall he was and his intimidating appearance, having an insectoid head and more humanoid body.
"Excuse me, Princess Charlie." Chomei said with a bow. "But we have much to discuss."
Chapter 122, DONE!
Finally.
Word Doc gave me so fucking Shit. Could have gotten the chapter out yesterday before work, but the Doc kept crashing. I can't even remember how many times it crashed and rebooted with entire scenes gone or partially erased. Just… fuck.
Yes, Fuu has made a deal with Naruto, but it is one built on equality, unlike the other Overlords who dominate the sinners who they make deals with. As Naruto said he doesn't need slaves. Yes, Naruto AND Fuu got stronger, the deal making it possible and it is a reference to the Chakra transfer technique.
Gaara has reconnected and made his decision to continue his training before returning home.
Shino's training as well, but it is taking some time. I wanted to show off how the Aburame clan possibly bonded with their insects, so I did this.
Chomei is at the hotel to discuss why Shino can't come back yet. It's not that hard to see.
