Chapter 129: Hopeless Anxiety
Next Morning…
Naruto was training alone.
Again.
Well… with himself as his clone stood before him.
In his hand was Tessaiga, his Nuada sword with the clone.
'I need to master the Backlash Wave.' Naruto thought as his clone charged up the Wind Scar with a clone of Tessaiga. 'My enemy is a Marquis, who should be SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than me. I may have five contracts now, but having this as an ace in the hole won't hurt.'
Images of the technique flooding his mind.
'An ability that takes the enemies stronger attack, ensnares it with the Wind Scar, and redirects it on the enemy in a whirlpool of energy.' Naruto thought as he prepared a Wind Scar of his own. 'I need to master this ability.'
An idea struck Naruto.
Naruto sheathed Tessaiga, confusing his clone as he proceeded to draw his Nuada sword.
"What are you doing, boss?" the clone asked, lowering its copy sword. "Aren't we supposed to be training?"
"We are, I just wanna test something first." Naruto replied, holding his angel metal Nuada sword before him.
He held his sword with both hands, which had magic in them.
'Okay, so Ace forged this Nuada sword from an Angelic Metal Spear head.' Naruto remembered, his side throbbing slightly at the memory. 'And it is fueled with angelic magic and can be used to cut sinners.'
He tightened his grip as he allowed his magic to flow from his hands to his blade.
The white 'cracked' edge that symbolized the holy magic flickered between orange and white.
'Tessaiga's Wind Scar is a technique that is pretty much a 'beam' of demonic energy, so if I apply that line of thinking to this…' Naruto thought, focusing his magic to simulate wind, similar to Tessaiga.
As he did, the magic slowly began to swirl around his Nuada.
"Yo, step aside… a lot." Naruto called out to his clone, who did as told, stepping away as Naruto pulled his sword back. "Wind Scar!"
He swung his sword.
Unlike with Tessaiga, which had this technique inheritly, the Wind Scar emitted from Nuada was unrefined.
It was thick, with no sharp edge.
Concussive in nature due to how sloppy it was.
But this brought a smile to Naruto's face as the attack faded.
'If I can master the Wind Scar and Backlash Wave with Nuada, even if I lose, drop, or hand Tessaiga over to someone else, I'll still have the techniques.' Naruto thought, his giddiness not leaving his face. 'That, and with the angel metal, it could possibly have holy power in it!'
Naruto and his clone continued to train through the morning.
Two Hours Later…
Fuu used a kebab skewer to poke Naruto in the face, making his eye twitch.
"Stop."
"Make me…" Fuu cheekily said with a cat like grin similar to Nagataro. "Oh, wait…"
She poked him again.
"You went to hard in your training and can't move your limbs." Fuu teased.
Naruto was sprawled out on the floor.
Unable to move.
He had been found by IMP on their way to work in the front yard with his weapons.
"Fuck you." Naruto replied as Verosika entered with Andromeda in her arms.
"Naruto… Oh, what you do now?" Verosika asked, holding her beloved step daughter securely in her arms.
Not that Andromeda minded.
She loved being held by her stepmother.
Because boobs.
"What do you need?" Naruto asked as he forced himself to sit up, his arms wobbling under his weight in just pushing him up.
"Well, if it isn't TOO much of a bother," Verosika said in a subtle way. "I'd like to just take a walk… the four of us."
She looked at Fuu, Naruto, and Andromeda.
"A walk sounds nice." Fuu said as she opened her phone, checking the Hell Weather App. "Just need to bundle up a bit. It's starting to get colder now."
Naruto got to his feet, feeling like his legs were just missing.
"I'm down for a walk." Naruto replied, keeping his balance.
Meanwhile…
"… the little bastard wakes me up in the middle of the night to ask me to drive him to Lust." Millie complained to Loona.
The two were at Loona's desk, drinking coffee.
"Well, why did he do that?" Loona asked, quirking an eyebrow as it didn't sound like something Naruto would normally do without a reason.
One that Loona knew, it was to get in contact with Karen and Arnold.
"That boy needs to learn how to drive." Millie grumbled further into her coffee.
"ALRIGHT, IMP," Blitz shouted as he exited his office with their newest client. "WE GOT WORK TO DO!"
"Okay, Sir." Moxxie replied from the back, putting a box down.
Meanwhile…
"Naruto surely is focused." Fuu mumbled, holding a water bottle as she and Verosika watched Naruto train, a torrent of magic spinning dozens of meters away from them.
"Yep, he's a dumbass." Verosika said as she held onto Andromeda's stroller, where the baby was clapping and giggling. "But he's my dumbass."
"You know, I learned how Naruto and Loona met, but how about you?" Fuu asked, looking at the succubus as another spiral of magic came to life before imploding.
"We met in the human world, remember?" Verosika asked.
Fuu shook her head.
"Well, me and my crew were performing near the ice arena, and you guys with that bitch Hinata came to the show."
"Oh, right… yeah, I remember now." Fuu said with a big grin. "Naruto had you sing Mr. Bad Guy."
"Yes, he did." Verosika replied with a smile.
Fuu chuckled as she stood up.
"While I'm here, I might as well train too." Fuu said as she summoned her wings and took to the skies.
Verosika sighed with a smile as her friend approached her husband, not able to hear what she was saying, but got the idea when Naruto entered his TDS, spread his wings and the two started fighting in the air.
Evening…
Dry Fuck Studios was quiet.
It's halls dark, the only light being from the windows.
Everyone was safe in their beds, sleeping soundly.
Except Naruto.
He was in bed, his lap top on his stomach.
The flash drive Karen had given him inserted into the lap top and he was scrolling through the information.
'Seems kinda rude…' Naruto thought. 'I am just going to walk up and hope they let me enter.'
He was thinking of the Toad Yakuza.
His plan was to show up, knock on the door, and pray for the best.
Rude.
Uncultured.
Unrefined.
Sloppy.
Naruto ran his hands through his hair, jostling Loona slightly.
"Hmmm… Naruto…" Loona mumbled. "Go to sleep…"
Checking the time, seeing that it was late, Naruto nodded, closing his lap top.
"G'night." Naruto said as he put his computer on the bedside table and pulled his blanket over his body, closing his eyes.
His body relaxed, and sleep took over.
Dream…
Naruto, Loona, Verosika, Millie, Moxxie, Blitz, Stolas, Riser, Octavia, Gaara, Shino and Fuu were walking.
Blitz was pushing Andromeda in her stroller.
It was a peaceful walk.
Through Naruto's hometown in the Human World to be exact.
There were no cars.
There were no humans.
No one to bother Naruto's family.
Suddenly, a chill washed over Naruto as flower petals and wind rushed past him.
Naruto was standing in blood.
Around him.
Bodies.
Blitz.
Millie.
Moxxie.
Stolas.
Octavia.
Riser.
Gaara.
Shino.
Fuu.
Loona.
Verosika.
The intense chill didn't leave Naruto's spine, causing him to turn.
Behind him was a fox.
It was made of ethereal black energy, its nine tails swaying and fading in and out like smoke, with red eyes, staring into him intensely.
Within its mouth, between its teeth, was Andromeda's clothing, as it held her in its mouth.
Naruto couldn't move as the chill became fear as Andromeda flailed and failed to get free.
The fox tilted its head down before thrusting it upward, tossing the baby into the air, opening its mouth.
Naruto's eyes widened as he jolted headfirst, but the blood he was standing in having wrapped around his ankles, making him trip.
"ANDY!" Naruto shouted as his child entered the fox's mouth.
Dream End…
Naruto shot up, his heart racing.
He got out of bed, doing his best to be quiet, but quick to get to Andromeda's crib.
Looking in, Naruto saw his daughter sleeping peacefully, small amounts of saliva dribbling down her cheek as she smiled.
Naruto sighed in relief as he reached in, and gently patted her head.
Sweat began to accumulate over Naruto's body as he calmed down.
'I don't think I can go back to sleep.' Naruto thought as he thought about the fox.
He shuddered, pulling his hand away from Andy, not wanting to wake her up.
Looking at the bed, seeing Verosika and Loona peacefully sleeping, Naruto decided to leave the bedroom, not wanting to ruin their sleep.
Exiting the room, Naruto made his way to the kitchen, getting a glass of water before going to the living room, turning on the tv.
'Gonna be a long night, gonna make the most of it.' Naruto thought as he put a movie on as he sat on the couch.
Next Morning…
"You really stayed up all night?" Verosika asked as she saw how exhausted Naruto was.
Before him on the coffee table were seven empty cans of energy drinks, one in his hand that was almost empty, and a full unopened one for a total of NINE energy drinks.
Naruto, meanwhile, was so wired, that he was shaking so fast that they couldn't see him move.
Andy was in his lap, giggling as she liked the vibrations… until her face turned green, her tiny hands clasping over her mouth.
"And great, she puked all over Naruto." Loona said in disgust as her husband was SO wound up that he made Andy vomit.
Taking their daughter, who instantly felt better, Loona cleaned up the baby as Naruto shot up, his dirtied clothing clanking to the ground.
"Wow, you plan on making a good impression, huh, kid." Blitz said as he saw clothing materialize over Naruto's body.
"Of course." Naruto said as he adjusted the collar.
It was jet black with white highlights, big silver buttons, and on top of that was a white sleeve 'jacket' with a fur cowl, along with a masquerade mask acting like a clip.

'Note to self: Never thank Alastor for this outfit.' Naruto thought, remembering it was Alastor who gave it to him as he strapped Nuada on his back, Tessaiga on his side.
"Well, before you go galivanting into enemy or possible ally territory," Moxxie stated as he put food on the table. "Eat some breakfast before your caffeine rush causes you to crash…"
Naruto face planted into the floor, convulsing.
"Never mind." Moxxie said with a sigh.
Fuu helped Naruto get in a chair as Millie entered, wearing her pajamas.
Andromeda reached out for her grandmother, earning a nose bop, a forehead kiss, and was put in Millie's lap for breakfast.
"Mom, Dad, Fuu, I want you to come with me." Naruto said as he ate breakfast.
"I'm a given, since we are contracted." Fuu said as she held up her hand, showing off the spiral marking. "But why your parents? Not complaining, but don't they have work?"
"They do, but I'll let it slide for today." Blitz said as he viciously ate breakfast like a starved animal. "I'll spend today with my daughter and granddaughter…"
"You want me to come to, Stud?" Verosika asked.
She didn't want to get between Blitz's desire for family time with Loona and Andy, but didn't want to do nothing.
"Sure, if you want…" Naruto said as he drank some orange juice.
Hour Later…
"Why are you dressed this way?" Naruto asked curiously.
Millie and Moxxie were dressed in tuxedos with glasses, the same ones they wore to LooLoo Land.
Verosika wore a business suit with a skirt. She had white leggings on and even wore glasses. Her hair was up, similar to Bayonetta's.
Fuu wore a short sleeveless white midriff shirt with fishnet armor underneath, long white armlets, and fishnet shorts with a short white apron skirt over it.
More importantly, Fuu was still wearing her Day Pass which would allow her to leave the Pride Ring.
"You got some fancy duds," Fuu pointed out, grabbing his arm, gesturing to the uniform he was wearing. "So, I wanted something that complimented me. I mean, I am quite flexible, my insectoid abilities will tear through my normal clothing, but this is enchanted to reconstruct with some magic."
"Where and when did you get this?" Naruto asked as he doesn't remember ever seeing her buy it.
"I saw a commercial when we were planning your birthday party, and thought it be a good idea." Fuu explained. "So, I made a custom order. So, what do you think? Think Shino will like it?"
Fuu gestured to herself.
Naruto blushed slightly.
He always thought Fuu was a unique beauty, and continued to feel that way even as a Sinner demon.
"I say Shino will like the easy access." Naruto said with a hint of nervousness and playfulness, eyeing her skirt.
Fuu's cheeks puffed out and she hit his arm.
"Asshole." She stated, earning a chuckle from Verosika, Millie, and Moxxie.
"So, why this outfit, My World?" Naruto asked his wife.
It wasn't a terrible outfit, it suited Verosika perfectly.
"Well, I wanted to be professional. You know the old saying, 'Behind Every Great Man is a Great Woman'." Verosika quoted, her hand held up with her index finger extended.
Fuu and Millie shook their heads in agreement before Naruto and Moxxie did.
"Hey, where are we going?" Fuu asked as she noticed the Ring Border.
"The flash drive said the Toad Yakuza is in Greed." Moxxie answered as he was the one driving. "Since Greed was my old stomping grounds, I know my way around, but the Toad Yakuza, I don't know where…"
Naruto pulled out his phone, having downloaded some information that he had copy and pasted to his email from the flash drive.
Some info was the locations of the Toad Yakuza, the Slug Cartel, and the Snake Mafia.
Meanwhile, Greed Ring, Toad Yakuza Hideout…
"Yo, bro." Gamatatsu called out as he entered his father's… his brother's office.
"What is it, Tatsu." Gamakichi asked as he was looking over some paperwork.
"Well, I was wondering, when you get a moment, that we stroll over to Pride and spend time…"
"I'm sorry, Tatsu, but I am very busy." Gamakichi interrupted as he stood up. "Rebuilding our home, keeping our businesses afloat, our enemies at bay, making sure our men are healing from the attack…"
Gamatatsu saw a flash of anger, irritation, self-loathing, and sadness in Gamakichi's eyes.
"And being the new boss is taking up much of my time." Gamakichi put his hand on Gamatatsu's shoulder as he walked past him. "Maybe later…"
Gamatatsu stood alone in the office.
'I shouldn't have come back…' Gamatatsu thought as an overwhelming sensation of inferiority and insecurity swell within him. 'I should have stayed with Aunt Katsuyu.'
Ever since Gamahiro was killed and Gamabunta was taken away, Gamakichi had thrown himself into being the new Boss of the Toad Yakuza.
Gamabunta had left MASSIVE shoes to fill.
It wore on both of his sons mentally.
'Bro…' Gamatatsu shook. 'You're shouldering everything…' His eyes began to water, feeling like a hopeless loser who couldn't do anything.
Someone who only knows how to be a bother without contributing to anything important.
The death of their mother lead him to drugs to prevent himself from drowning in misery.
His brother and father got him help, Aunt Katsuyu actively helped his recovery, and together they brought Gamatatsu back from the darkness.
But now, with Bunta and Hiro gone, Kichi focusing on living up to their father's legacy… what was he doing?
What was Gamatatsu able to do?
'Nothing…' Gamatatsu thought as he remembered coming back home after several years of being away.
ONLY to see it partially demolished, Gamahiro dead/worse, and Gamaken informing everyone what Kurama had done.
Enslaving Gamabunta and letting everyone else live.
Watching Gamakichi break down and become the new boss, no one objected, knowing he was going to take charge eventually, but not like this.
Gamatatsu bit his lip, trying to keep the water in his eyes from falling, but failing.
Suddenly, an alarm was raised.
"What?" Gamatatsu said as he was pulled from his thoughts, knowing this alarm meant someone or people were approaching the compound.
Gamatatsu saw many toads prepping for the worse, all of them on edge from the Kurama Incident.
"Tatsu!"
"Kichi…"
"Tatsu, go to the back, and get in the bunker." Gamakichi ordered, his tone showing a brotherly/loving seriousness that was not a joke or would allow arguments.
"But... But bro…"
"I SAID GO TO THE BUNKER!" Gamakichi shouted, putting his foot down.
Tatsu tensed.
"Yes…"
Gamakichi watched his brother head toward the back.
'I was too harsh…' He thought as he pulled a box of cigarettes, pulling one out. 'We lost our mother and father, so I won't let my bro get hurt.'
Lighting his cigarette, Gamakichi grabbed his tanto, carrying it by hand unlike Gamabunta who had it strapped on the back of his waist.
He made his way toward the entrance, knowing he needed to make an appearance.
"Boss…" Gamaken called out, running to Kichi.
"Ken."
"There are four of them." Ken reported. "They humbly request an audience with you, boss."
Gamakichi quirked an eyebrow.
He expected a fight, not a talk.
Nervousness boiled in Gamakichi's stomach.
"Ken, get Katsuyu here." Gamakichi ordered. "Use her teleporting circle to get her here. If it is something with negotiations…"
Ken saw the uncertainty on his boss's face and nodded.
"Yes, boss." Ken replied. "I'll have some men bring these four people to a room and have them wait for you and Lady Katsuyu."
Kichi nodded and continued to smoke.
He felt anxious.
He was good at fighting, but talking was something he always needed to work on as a child.
A few minutes passed before Gamaken and Katsuyu appeared before Gamakichi, who finished his cigarette and the trio walked to the room where their guests were waiting.
One of the toads opened the door.
Naruto, Verosika, Millie, and Moxxie sat on one side of a table.
They were surrounded by toads, who were armed to the fucking teeth.
"Boss." The toads croaked in unison, bowing.
Naruto followed suit.
"Greetings, Boss Gamakichi." Naruto said as he raised his head. "I am Naruto Uzumaki, the Stray Dog Overlord."
Chapter 129, DONE!
I had fun.
Sorry it took so long to update, I really needed to plan this arc out, because I didn't plan on HAVING it happen now, I didn't really have a good plan. But now I do and I hope it is entertaining.
Naruto training and realizing he doesn't need Tessaiga to perform Wind Scar/Backlash Wave. He couldn't use Adamant Barrage, Dragon Scale, or Black Tessaiga without… Tessaiga.
Naruto and Fuu training in aerial combat is important.
Naruto's nightmare.
Everything with the Toads was fun to write, as I wanted to show what had happened since Kurama took Bunta and devoured Hiro's soul in her attack for 'revenge'.
Naruto calling himself the Stray Dog Overlord? After denying the title, he finally uses it in an important moment. I wonder how things will play out.
