Chapter Nineteen: Tea Sickness
(Enjoy this mush filler!)
To all my Red sisters out there,
There is a young Accepted that is due back to the Tower. She has long black hair, ocean blue eyes. A kind face and a smile. She is mid height, known to be wearing her Accepted dress but may be in other clothing. Her hair is usually in braids much like the Red ajahs. She is last seen with sisters, Moiraine, Verin, Adeleas, and Alanna. If found, please write back to the Tower as soon as possible. She is requested back by the Sitters of the Hall. We have come to believe that she is being kept from the Tower for reasons unknown. If found, please let me know the location soon as possible.
Red Highest, Tstuama.
"Moiraine Sedai, when am I allowed to leave the house?" Alessia asked while Moiraine was sitting in a chair in the sitting room. They were in a small house in the center of the city. It had been two weeks since they arrived at Moiraine's home before they took residence in a nearby house. Hearing a sigh from Moiraine.
"I supposed we can check out the archive building." Moiraine spoke. Alessia gasped with a smile. She received a brow raise from the blue ajah.
"Sorry. Just, I haven't really received any lessons recently and got excited." Alessia spoke with a smile as Moiraine then nodded.
"We should probably get you a new white cloak." Moiraine added.
"I'll be alright. I am sure the Tower will have some." Alessia spoke.
"You won't be going back to the Tower for a while." Moiraine replied. Alessia frowned at this. She looked down while wrapping the cloak around her shoulders. Wondering why this was. She hadn't received any lessons from Alanna in a while since they left Andor. She was wearing her Accepted dress today. When they first came, she had worn the other clothes that Moiraine had gotten her back in Andor. Her shoulder was gently grabbed as she turned to follow Moiraine out of the house. She did not know her way around, so she stayed close to Moiraine. There was snow covering the ground as they made their way outside. She started to shiver again as she could see her breath in the air. She stopped to look into the air again while closing her eyes. It was snowing again. Feeling the snow on her face as Moiraine was watching her only a few feet away. Alessia could feel that she was being watched. She looked back down and saw Moiraine smiling at her. She started walking again. Heading towards the large building not far ahead of them.
"The large building has archives. We can do some research inside there." Moiraine spoke.
"What kind?" Alessia asked.
"There is talk about a relic that allows the holder to dreamwalk." Moiraine spoke.
"Why are you telling me about it?" Alessia asked.
"It's one of my tasks. To find out more about it and find it to bring back to the Tower." Moraine spoke as Alessia raised a brow.
"Oh! It's one of your lessons for me?" Alessia asked. Moiraine smiled and nodded her head. "Alright. So, what exactly is this relic called?" Alessia asked as she followed the woman in blue into the large building.
"I believe they are called Dreamweavers. The Tower lost track of the ones it had several years ago." Moiraine spoke as she set down a small book. Alessia sat down and opened the book. It was written in Old Tongue.
"Oh." Alessia spoke. She could actually understand what she was reading!
"What is it?" Moiraine asked.
"I can understand this." Alessia spoke with a smile.
"Your studies paid off." Moiraine spoke with a smile.
"It did, yes. All those late nights staying up." Alessia spoke as she was reading the book. There was nothing about Dreamweavers in this book.
"May I ask, why research this?" Alessia asked as she rolled open a scroll.
"Because remember you told me about that dream in the camp that day?" Moiraine asked as she sat down with a scroll.
"With the Burned man?" Alessia asked. Seeing Moiraine nod her head. "Yes."
"He spoke a Forsaken's name in your dream as well. If I am not mistaken, Forsakens can enter dreams and spy on others. He mentioned a name that I am worried about." Moiraine added.
"Moghedien." Alessia spoke. She remembered.
"Spider in Old Tongue." Moiraine spoke as Alessia was in thought. It couldn't be Lillen right? She was there to protect her from the Burned Man. Or were there other motives? She thought while feeling her shoulder touched. She looked at Moiraine who had this look on her face that she had seen only from Liandrin and Lillen. She raised a brow.
"What is it?" She asked. Feeling her cheek cupped as Moiraine was smiling weakly. Her cheeks were then let go as Moiraine went back to the scroll.
"I believe once you learn how to dreamwalk, you can protect yourself when you sleep." Moiraine spoke.
"I see." She spoke. Then frowned.
"What is it?" Moiraine asked.
"How can I work on it if I am having dreamless sleeps?" Alessia asked as she crossed her arms while giving Moiraine a look.
"You already know, don't you?" Moiraine asked as Alessia nodded her head.
"That tea." Alessia spoke as Moiraine sighed and nodded her head.
"How can I work on it if I cannot dream?" Alessia asked.
"Alright. Tonight, no tea. If anything happens, I will wake you up. Lan and I will take turns watching you." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head. Feeling her hand taken and squeezed as she was now led out of the small room they were in.
"Wait here. I will be right back." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded. Watching the woman in blue take her leave.
Not knowing how long Moiraine was gone, she heard footsteps.
"Moiraine?" Alessia asked as she looked behind her. It was not the blue ajah but a Red.
"Who are you?" The red asked. The woman was not much taller than she was. Dark eyes and dark brown hair that was past her shoulders.
"I'm Alessia." Alessia spoke as she gave the woman a bow.
"Why is an Accepted of the Tower here?" The woman asked. A man had come into the room and handed the woman a letter.
"Elaida Sedai." Moiraine's voice came.
"Moiraine Sedai." Elaida spoke as she was reading the letter. Her eyes went wide before looking at them again and pulled out an ink bottle with a quill.
"Return this as soon as possible." Elaida spoke as the man nodded and bowed before taking his leave.
"What is she doing out of the Tower?" Elaida asked. Her voice was demanding but her face looked kind. Alessia wasn't sure about this Red ajah.
"She's in training with me and our fellow Brown sisters." Moiraine spoke. "Come." Moiraine then spoke to lead Alessia away.
"It was a pleasure meeting you." Alessia spoke as she gave Elaida another bow before taking her leave. She followed Moiraine out of the building as she shivered again. Holding the cloak tightly around her again. They were taking a different route this time. She bumped into Moiraine who stopped in front of her down an alley. Feeling her cheeks cupped again as she looked into the blue eyes.
"What is it?" Alessia asked.
"Did she say anything to you?" Moiraine asked.
"Only asked who I was. I only said my name." Alessia spoke while raising her brow. "Why?" Alessia then asked.
"I am worried. I do not trust the Red ajah." Moiraine spoke as Alessia frowned. Feeling her forehead kissed before taking the lead again. Alessia felt Moiraine was getting too comfortable around her. Her thoughts went deep as she was thinking about Lillen again. Then her heart started beating fast. She wouldn't be drinking the tea before bed tonight! This was her chance to see the older woman! She tried to hide her excitement only to receive a confused feeling in return. Alessia smiled at this while following Moiraine into the streets to another building.
"Here we are getting some dinner." Moiraine spoke. She followed Moiraine while looking around the butchery.
How may I help you, Aes Sedai?" A man's voice came as Alessia smiled and gave him a bow.
"We require some meat for dinner please." Moiraine spoke with a smile as the man nodded and pulled out some cow that was hunted for its meat.
"Here is some steak. We can get some fat thrown in. By the looks of her." He spoke while nodding at Alessia. She raised a brow and looked down at herself before back at Moiraine with a confused look.
"Thank you sir." Moiraine spoke as she paid for the meat. Alessia wrapped it up and took it from the counter area. It felt a little heavy in her arms.
"Thank you. Light be with you." The man spoke as Alessia smiled and bowed again while holding onto the meat tightly as they took their leave.
"He seemed nice." Alessia spoke softly.
"Do not let that fool you, Lessy. Anyone can seem nice." Moiraine spoke in a warning voice. She nodded her head at this. They were wise words. Seeing the house in sight as they entered it. It feels a little warmer now.
"We are back." Moiraine's voice carried through the house. Alanna came into the kitchen and smiled as she was warming up the stove. Setting the kettle down.
"No tea tonight." Moiraine added as Alanna smiled and bowed. Taking the kettle off. Alessia couldn't help as she felt her heart beat fast again. She was hoping but trying to contain it.
"Alright. Water with dinner!" Alanna spoke with a smile. Alessia wondered if Alanna knew about the tea. She unwrapped the meat and smiled while pulling out the knife only for it to be taken away.
"Watch this." Alanna spoke as she weaved air. Harden it as if it looked like a knife. Seeing Alanna use the weave she created to cut the meat with no sweat. Alessia gasped and smiled at this. "Now, you try." Alanna spoke as Alessia nodded. She pulled from the source and smiled at the feeling. Creating the weave Alanna showed her. It was an easy weave. Using it as she guided it with her hand. Using her fingers to point and cut the meat into even slices.
"That was awesome." Alessia spoke with a smile. Alanna had a finger to her lips with a smile. Then it clicked! She technically used the power to create a weapon but since it wasn't used against someone else but to simply cut meat, she understood that this was a loophole.
"Go get everyone for dinner." Alanna spoke. She nodded with a bow before leaving the kitchen.
She was now sitting with the others at the table. Listening to them talk about the day. She smiled while eating the potatoes she had cooked.
"Well, what lesson do you have Alessia doing?" Alanna asked as Moiraine only smiled while cutting her meat to eat. Alessia took a drink from the water. She was already full. Frowning as she barely touched her food.
"You alright dear?" Alanna asked as Alessia nodded her head.
"Yes. Just rather full already." She spoke.
"Not going to finish that?" Tomas asked as Alessia chuckled and pushed her plate towards him as he happily took it.
"At least finish your water." Alanna added as Alessia nodded and grabbed her cup to finish drinking her water.
"Tell us, Alessia. Did you finish the books I gave you to read?" Adeleas asked.
"I did! I just need to finish my essay and revise it before giving it to you." Alessia replied. She didn't learn much about the former Dragons.
"May I ask?" Alessia then spoke as Adeleas nodded her head. "Why have I studied about the previous Dragons?" She asked.
"It's to learn about them and what they have done that changed history." Adeleas spoke. She nodded her head. "Get your chores done and you can head to bed." She added. Alessia stood up and started collecting the dishes from the table to the kitchen. Setting up the buckets of hot water and cold water as she washed the dishes. Making sure everything was done and clean before saying her goodnights to the others. Heading to her room as she changed into a gown. Feeling how much room it has on her. Shrugging while taking the braids out from her hair. She smiled softly while brushing her hair. Hearing a soft knock on her door as Moiraine had let herself inside.
"Hello." Alessia spoke as she finished brushing her hair. It seemed Lan had come into the room as well.
"Lessy." Moiraine spoke as she walked up and cupped her cheeks. "I'm going to start the watch over you and Lan will take over once I am tired. He is going to rest first." Moiraine spoke as she was going over the plan. Alessia nodded to show that she understood. "Good. Let us start." Moiraine spoke. Alessia left the seat she was in and headed to her bed. Getting comfortable while looking at the ceiling from the bed. It shifted as she looked over. Seeing Moiraine lay next to her on her side. She was facing Alessia. Feeling her cheek cupped again. Smiling weakly before she closed her eyes. Hoping that sleep would come.
"Murderer!" Voices shouted. Alessia blinked a few times while looking around. Holding her hands up as she saw a dagger in one hand all bloody. She threw it to the ground. Looking at her hands, fresh blood on them. She didn't remember any fighting done recently. She saw bodies piling around her. Screams echoed in her ears as she was trying to make out the scene around her. She was back in Fal Dara. Except, the city was destroyed as rain and fire was everywhere. The roads were torn and muddy. Buildings crumbling down around her. She could barely make out the scene around her in the darkness as the ground shook from the Trollocs.
"How?" She asked herself while looking around. Seeing the flashing of lights as she ducked. Seeing a Trolloc stampede across the streets of the city.
"No!" Alessia screamed as she weaved. Feeling nothing came as she frowned. "No! Not again!" She shouted.
"We are dead because of you!" A voice spoke as she turned around. Seeing Amalisa in her armor that was bloody and dirty with mud.
"No! It was not my fault! You knew the risks! You pulled too much! You ignored my shouts!" Alessia spoke.
"Your power killed us." Amalisa spoke. Feeling a whoosh of air as she looked around.
"Come my daughter." A seductive voice spoke as she looked behind her. There. The Burning Man was walking slowly towards her. Alessia frowned and shocked her head. Feeling her heart race at this. She stepped back as he moved forward.
"Who are you?" She asked. He only stared at her. He then screamed and turned into black smoke as it was thrown at her. Feeling the dark shadow smoke go through her as she screamed. Feeling her feet swept up from under her as she fell backwards. It felt as if time slowed down as she was falling backwards. Her hand was up above her as she released a weave. Sending it sky high as it disappeared. Feeling no ground hit her as she was knocked out.
Feeling a finger trace her cheek as she leaned up quickly. Looking around as the nightmare had passed. She was confused. She was still in the Dreamworld. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she was seeing what she was seeing. She was laying in a field of flowers that were fully in bloom. Many different colors as she looked up. The sky was blue and clear. A few clouds as the sun was high in the sky. Giving full warmth as she closed her eyes to soak in the warmth. It felt better than the fire in the house after a day outside in the cold. Hearing leaves rustled against the wind as she looked up. Seeing a large beautiful tree in bloom of pink flowers as the petals danced in the wind.
"Where have you been my love?" A voice that made her close her eyes and smiled. She hadn't heard this voice in several months. Looking over to the owner as she gasped. Scrambling to get up as she ran over to the owner of the voice.
"Lillen!" Alessia nearly cried as she hugged Lillen tightly. Feeling the strong and gentle arms hold onto her. "You're here!" Alessia spoke. Feeling her eyes sting with tears as she pulled back. Feeling Lillen wipe her cheeks clean of the tears. Alessia smiled and gave the older woman a deep loving kiss. Pouring all her feelings into it. She could feel the smile and the feeling returned through their bond.
"How are you here?" Alessia asked as she pulled back again. Petting Lillen's head as she was trying to memorize the feeling of Lillen's hair.
"You called out to me." Lillen spoke. Alessia frowned and raised her brow.
"What do you mean?" Alessia asked.
"You were having a nightmare and called out to me." Lillen spoke as she held Alessia closed. Afraid of letting go.
"Must have been the weave that left me earlier." Alessia said. "How are you? How is Liandrin?" Alessia then asked.
"Worried. We both are. Not just us, the Sitters in the Tower as well as your friends." Lillen spoke. Alessia frowned at this.
"I'm sorry." Alessia looked down. Feeling her chin touched and lifted as her eyes met the dark ones.
"Give me a moment. I'm grabbing Liandrin." Lillen spoke.
"Hurry. I do not know how much time I have." Alessia spoke. Lillen frowned at this. Giving her another deep kiss just in case before disappearing. She frowned at the loss of contact. She walked over to the tree and sat down under it. Feeling the wind gently blow against her. Feeling her eyes get heavy as she fights to stay awake in her Dream. Hearing hurried footsteps as she stood up. Seeing Liandrin come into sight as Lillen followed her.
"My little dove!" Liandrin nearly shouted as Alessia quickly went up to Liandrin. The Red ajah's arms were already opened as Alessia went straight into them. Hugging Liandrin tightly. Resting her face into the older woman's neck.
"Can I? In here?" Alessia asked.
"Can you what?" Liandrin asked.
"No, you cannot. You have to be with her physically." Lillen spoke. Alessia frowned a little. Feeling her cheeks cupped by the gentle hands of Liandrin as she was kissed. Alessia pressed into it more while holding her hips.
"What are you talking about?" Liandrin asked, looking between the two of them.
"She wanted to bond." Lillen replied. Her dark eyes looked at Liandrin before falling back to Alessia who was staring into Liandrin's eyes. "What happened to you?" Lillen gasped softly. She looked at Lillen with a confused look as Lillen walked up to her. Squeezing different parts of her body.
"What do you mean?" Alessia asked as Liandrin gasped as well. She was now worried. "What's going on?" Alessia was getting worried. Feeling her hips grabbed as Liandrin was measuring her.
"Were you not fed?" Liandrin asked.
"Of course I was! Why do you ask?" Alessia asked.
"You've lost so much weight." Lillen replied with a frown as she was holding Alessia's sides before pulling her gown tightly around her body and sure enough, her gown was rather large on her now.
"I never noticed." Alessia spoke. How could she not? She was feeling weaker and more tired as of late. Barely eating as well.
"Could it be the side effects of the tea?" Liandrin asked.
"It could be. Unfortunately I cannot ask. Only you and Tarna know that I can Dreamwalk." Lillen frowned.
"Dreamwalk?" Alessia asked as Lillen nodded. "Moiraine has me researching that." Alessia spoke as she sat down. Feeling her energy already drained. Lillen and Liandrin both sat down on each side of her. Each took her hand into their own and squeezed them. She looked at Lillen again.
"What's a Dreamweaver?" She asked.
"It's a Ter'angreal used to help those dreamwalk. Most appear in a misty form if used. Some are needed to work by channeling and there are a rare few that do not need the One Power to use. Those like me are known as Dreamwalkers who have the talent to enter the Tel'aran'rhiod." Lillen explained.
"Then how am I here?" Alessia asked.
"Because I allow it. You called out to me and I came. Pulling you here as I did for Liandrin. When you weren't dreaming, I got worried." Lillen spoke.
"I am sorry." Alessia spoke again.
"Don't. It is not your fault. Sister Latra told us about that tea. It's not healthy." Liandrin spoke.
"I do not know how to convince them to not give me that tea. Moiraine said it's to keep the Forsaken out of my dreams." Alessia spoke as she heard a small hiss from Lillen. Giving the older woman a confused look before her chin was forced to look at Liandrin.
"Are you alright my little dove?" Liandrin asked.
"Yes. I do miss you both greatly." Alessia spoke as she felt both women hug her tightly.
"You'll be back at the Tower before you know it." Liandrin spoke.
"No. I won't." Alessia spoke softly. Feeling the women pull back with confused looks.
"What do you mean?" Lillen asked softly. Rubbing Alessia's back.
"Moiraine said it'll be a long time before I go back." Alessia spoke.
"My love." Liandrin spoke as Alessia looked back at her.
"Lessy!" Moiraine's voice echoed in the wind.
"Liandrin, Lillen. I need to tell you both something that my heart has been dying to tell you both." Alessia spoke as Lillen was petting her cheek and head gently with both hands now.
"What is it, my love?" Lillen asked as Liandrin cut her off.
"My little dove. Are you the Dragon?" Liandrin asked. Alessia frowned at this. She opened her mouth to answer before she was cut off.
"Alessia!" Moiraine's voice was so loud, the dream shattered.
Alessia jumped up as she sat up. Panicking as hands grabbed her cheeks to steady her movements. Moiraine was holding her face.
"Lessy. What happened? You were thrashing for a while." Moiraine spoke.
"It was that nightmare." Alessia spoke. She did not dare mention her meeting with Lillen and Liandrin. Moiraine nodded with a frown. Lighting a candle to give the room a faint dim lightening. Feeling an arm wrapped around her shoulders and Moiraine pulled her close. She then realized what she was doing. Moiraine was comforting her. She relaxed a little against the older woman as she laid there. Staring at the ceiling. The sun was slowly already coming up. Hoping they were alright. She could feel the anger coming from Lillen now. She didn't blame her. Their time was cut too short. After several months, she only had moments with them. Feeling her heart ache at this as she turned onto her side. Facing away from Moiraine who had an arm resting across her middle. Her mind kept wandering to the touching from the two she loves. There, she laid while resting her body. Hoping she would have a lesson to have her mind focus on other things. Feeling the bed shift again as her shoulder was gently shook.
"Time to get up." Moiraine spoke. Alessia nodded and sat up. Feeling her head get heavy and dizzy. Frowning as she held onto her forehead. "Are you alright?" Moiraine asked.
"I'm fine." Alessia spoke. She wanted to push through it. She stood up and wobbled a little before standing up straight. Taking a deep breath before grabbing a clean dress. "I'm going to take a bath. I need one." Alessia spoke softly as Moiraine nodded her head. Alessia took her leave once she grabbed a towel and set it on the chair in the washroom with her dress under it.
"Hello dear." Alanna's voice came. The woman was smiling as she already had some water being poured into it.
"Thank you, Alanna Sedai." Alessia spoke. The woman smiled as she was given a hug. She was still trying to get used to all the hugs. She warmed up the water once Alanna had left. She sighed softly and undressed herself before sitting in the water. Feeling the hot water against her skin as she sighed in relief. Leaning back against the edge as she laid her head back and closed her eyes. Feeling her body relax as she rubbed her skin with the sponge. Yawning lightly as the heat was making her drowsy. Not knowing she had passed out in the bath.
Tarna's POV
"Lift your arm up a little more. There you go." Tarna spoke while helping an Accepted on her weaving. Hearing heels against the marble floor as she looked over her shoulder. Seeing Liandrin pacing a little. "Alright. Practice your weaves and head to your next class." Tarna spoke as they bowed and took their leave. Well, all but one.
"Have you heard from her?" Jane asked with a frown. Tarna sighed and shook her head.
"Not since that last letter. I will keep you updated, alright?" Tarna asked as Jane nodded her head before taking her leave.
"She's worried as well?" Liandrin's voice came as Tarna nodded her head.
"Yes. Unfortunately no word yet since Tstuama sent out those letters." Tarna added.
"I am about to go out and search for her myself." Liandrin spoke.
"We cannot. You know this. The Sitters want us here when she gets here." Tarna spoke. Hearing a sigh as Tarna rested her hand on Liandrin's shoulder. Seeing the other Red give a worried look. "What is it?" Tarna asked as she followed the line of sight and saw Lillen walking over to them in a hurried way. There was a saddened look on her face.
"What is it?" Liandrin asked.
"I can't feel her anymore." Lillen spoke with a frown. Liandrin balled her hands into fists.
"Is it possible for a bond to disappear if not spent time together?" Tarna asked.
"No. My soul and hers are tied together. The only way is if one of us dies or stilled." Lillen spoke.
"So, what happened then?" Liandrin asked.
"My guess? She's fallen ill." Lillen replied.
"Have you two been able to contact her again, through, you know?" Tarna asked as they shook their heads. "Is Tstuama back yet?" She asked as Liandrin nodded her head.
"She just came back." She spoke while nodding in a direction. Tarna turned and saw their Highest motioned them to follow her.
"Come sister Lillen." Tarna spoke. Lillen was still frowning as she followed them. It seemed they were heading towards the red floor. They were led into the room as it was weaved for silence. To not be overheard. Liandrin was handed a letter.
"She was found!" Liandrin sighed in relief. "When was this?" She then asked.
"The other day. I already sent the reply. Moiraine should be getting the summons any moment now." Tstuama spoke as she sat down after pouring herself a drink. Raising a brow. "What is it?" She asked.
"Lillen cannot feel her anymore." Tarna spoke.
"Right. I forgot you bonded with her. Do not mention that if a trial is called." Tstuama spoke as they nodded their heads.
"Well, where is she?" Liandrin then asked as she sat down.
"Caemlyn." Tstuama replied. Liandrin sighed and shook her head.
"Moiraine is dragging her all over the place." She spoke as Tarna nodded her head. "I want to grab her myself." Liandrin said again.
"You cannot sister. We need you here. Especially if Lillen cannot feel her anymore. If she has fallen ill, she will need you and Lillen." Tstuama spoke as Liandrin nodded her head.
"May I see the letter?" Tarna asked as she was handed the letter.
Highest,
Daughter Alessia was spotted in the archives building in Caemlyn with sister Moiraine. They have taken residence in one of Moiraine's family homes. The young woman looks malnourished and sickly. I fear she is not being taken care of.
Elaida.
"So, Elaida found her. Of all our Red sisters. Elaida finds her." Tarna spoke with a smile. Handing Liandrin the letter.
"Is she really not being taken care of?" Tstuama asked with a worried look.
"She is. Moiraine is protective of her." Tarna spoke.
"I wonder why." Tstuama spoke while drinking her wine. Hearing hurried footsteps and a knock on her door. She stood up and walked over. Tarna gave Liandrin a worried look before hearing the door closed.
"Don't be alarmed." Tstuama spoke.
"What is it?" Liandrin asked while standing up.
"Moiraine and her group are here. Alessia was taken to the infirmary." Tstuama spoke. Liandrin rushed past Tstuama as Lillen was not far behind. Tarna frowned while looking at her Highest.
"Do you think it's from that tea?" She asked.
"I do not know. Chesmal Sedai is looking for Latra Sedai for help." Tstuama spoke.
"I shall notify her friends while searching for Latra as well." Tarna spoke as Tstuama spoke.
"While you do that, I will contact the other Highest to let them know." Tstuama spoke as she pulled her cloak from her wardrobe and left. Tarna left the room as well with a sigh. She was worried. Feeling her heart against her chest as she was walking quickly. Seeing the familiar doors of the Accepteds, she knocked on a door.
"Shush! Someone's here." Jane's voice spoke as the door opened. "Oh, it's Tarna Sedai!" Jane spoke. Tarna raised a brow. Wondering why they were calm and comfortable around her. She walked into the room and closed the door behind her. Seeing Nynaeve, Egwene, Jane, Alice, and Ella.
"You are all here, good." Tarna spoke as she sighed while looking at all of them.
"What is it?" Nynaeve asked while standing up.
"It's Alessia." Tarna spoke. Seeing them all look
"She's back?" Jane asked. Tarna nodded and closed the door when Jane opened it. "She needs rest. Until Chesmal Sedai says she can have visitors. I came to let you know she is back." Tarna spoke. Seeing Jane frown and nod before sitting back down. "For now, focus on your studies and training. We will keep you updated." Tarna added as they nodded. Seeing them frown. "Don't worry. She is in good hands and she is home now." She added before taking her leave. Making her way to the other side of the Tower to the Science ajah floor. Hoping Latra was somewhere. Hearing some excited chattering as she walked into the large circular room.
"Sister Tarna." Latra's voice came as she was smiling. Lanfear was with her as they were going over their experiment. "Sister Lanfear, you may go." Latra spoke as Lanfear nodded and took her leave. Once she was gone, Latra spoke again. "What can I do for you?" She asked.
"Sister Alessia is back. She was found in Caemlyn. She's in the infirmary. Sister Chesmal is requesting for you." Tarna spoke. Latra nodded her head while grabbing a book and took her leave. Tarna then followed her as well.
"Her friends have been notified." Tarna spoke to Tstuama who nodded her head. Hearing a shouting match going on down the hall right next to the infirmary. It was Liandrin and Moiraine.
"Enough! This floor is the floor of healing! Bickering isn't going to get you anywhere!" Chesmal shouted at them. Watching her sisters go silent and nodding their heads. "Now, what happened?" Chesmal then asked while looking at Moiraine.
"I did not know it would affect her. You see, all of us were drinking it." Moiraine spoke. She was being truthful.
"Apparently not. It seems your other sisters did not drink it everyday." Chesmal spoke while shaking her head.
"Are you saying I was the only one with Alessia?" Moiraine asked with a frown.
"Why did you keep traveling away with her?" Liandrin asked. She was demanding answers. Lillen was weaving on the door to unlock it. Tarna smirked at the woman when she disappeared into a shadow and went inside unnoticed. Knowing Lillen went straight to her. Tarna sighed and rubbed her temples
"Did Sister Alanna not say what the tea actually was?" Tarna asked as Moiraine shook her head.
"Enough questions. All will come to light once she gets better." Liandrin nearly hissed.
"Where's Lillen?" Chesmal asked. Tarna chuckled at this as her yellow sister sighed.
"You know what, let her. She goes through unnoticed." Chesmal spoke.
"I." Liandrin spoke. Chesmal waved her hand for Liandrin to enter as well. Watching her red sister go inside and Moiraine was stopped.
"You are to go get some rest. If you feel anything, then come back to me. For now, my orders to keep you two separated." Chesmal spoke. Moiraine frowned and nodded before taking her leave. Once the blue was gone, Chesmal opened the door again.
"You may enter sister Tarna." Chesmal spoke as she nodded and entered. There was tension in the air as she sighed. Latra was inside taking blood and checking her vitals as Liandrin and Lillen were sitting on both sides of her. Walking up slowly and gasping. Covering her mouth with a frown. Seeing Alessia asleep in the bed.
End of POV
Moiraine's POV (Before the return.)
"Lessy?" She knocked on the door. There was no answer. She was getting a little worried.
"Is she still in there?" Alanna's voice came as she nodded her head.
"Yes. I am worried." Moiraine spoke while seeing a letter in Alanna's hand. "What is that?" She asked. Watching the green ajah frown.
"You're called back to the Tower. We all are. We are under strict orders to bring Alessia back as quickly as possible." Alanna spoke. Moiraine sighed as Lan had appeared.
"Everything is packed and ready." He spoke.
"Thank you, Lan." Alanna spoke. Moiraine knocked on the door again.
"Lessy?" Moiraine asked again. Weaving opened the door and saw her in the water. Feeling a fear feeling rise inside as she rushed over. Cupping the younger woman's cheeks and felt her face was burning up.
"Sister Alanna. What was in that tea?" Moiraine asked. Seeing her green sister enter as well when her warders were following.
"Out! She's not dressed!" Moiraine shouted at them. They nodded and left the washroom. Letting the water out as she weaved Alessia's hair dry. "Please wake up." Moiraine spoke as she grabbed Alessia's clean dress and put it on her. Patting her cheeks as she was not responding.
"She needs a yellow sister." Alanna spoke as she frowned. Feeling the younger woman's forehead and sighed. Moiraine had taken a good look at Alessia now. She was underweight, her skin had a small greenish tint to her skin.
"She can't travel." Moiraine spoke with a frown.
"We are under strict instructions! Our yellow sisters can look after her. We just need to get her there." Alanna spoke with a frown.
"We can take the Waygate. Get to the Tower faster." Moiraine spoke as Lan had entered. Picking Alessia up with ease.
"We do not have time to grab our things." Alanna spoke.
"We will bring them. You get her there." Adeleas' voice came. Moiraine nodded and took the lead. Constantly looking at Alessia who was limp in Lan's arms.
"Liandrin is going to kill me." Moiraine spoke.
"Not if Alessia has any say." Alanna spoke.
"Why is she called back?" Moiraine asked. She had a feeling that Liandrin was behind this. She was walking quickly as she grabbed her cloak and headed out. She was almost running. Her Dragon had fallen ill again and she was worried. She was supposed to be training her to get stronger, instead, she was holding back in hopes to keep her from the Tower longer.
"Is there a Waygate nearby?" Lan asked as Alanna asked as the door was opened. They all stopped and looked in front of them. Seeing two Red ajahs standing there waiting.
"Sister Elaida." Alanna spoke.
"Sister Tstuama said that we are to escort you straight to the Tower." Elaida spoke. She had anger on her face.
"Alessia is not strong enough to travel the way you want." Moiraine spoke.
"We will take that risk. Sister Chesmal is awaiting our arrival." Elaida spoke as she weaved quickly. Opening a rip near her. It was a black portal. Moiraine frowned and nodded at Lan who walked into the portal. Moiraine followed after Elaida.
It was within minutes they had found the Tower in front of them. Moiraine took a deep breath. She knew. She was in trouble.
"Sister Chesmal!" Elaida shouted. Seeing the yellow run in sight. Another warder came into sight to take Alessia as Lan stepped back.
"Lan. Give her up." Chesmal spoke. Moiraine began to follow as Chesmal took the lead. Feeling worried again while they made their way into the Tower and up the stairs.
"She's back?" A voice spoke as she looked to see the Red Highest.
"You may let them know." Chesmal replied.
"Let who, know what?" Moiraine asked. She wanted answers. She was stopped right outside of the infirmary as Alessia was now out of her sight.
"Let me see her." Moiraine demanded as Alanna touched her arm to move her back a little. "You cannot keep her from me!" Moiraine spoke.
"What have you done?!" A voice shouted. Moiraine turned to see the red storming up towards her. Lillen was behind her a little.
"Step back sister Liandrin." Chesmal spoke as Liandrin was now in her face.
"She takes off with you for training and lessons only to be returned to us in a weakened state! What did you do?!" Liandrin shouted. Demanding answers.
"Enough! This is a floor of healing!" Chesmal shouted. Looking around as Lillen was no longer in sight.
"I want to see her." Moiraine spoke again as Liandrin was let inside.
"I have strict orders to keep you two separate." Chesmal spoke. "Go get some rest. Light knows we all need it." Chesmal spoke. Moiraine frowned as she was pulled away by Lan. She sighed and stormed from the hallway. Heading towards her room on the blue floor.
"The reds are up to this!" Moiraine spoke as she began to pace in her room. She had changed out of her traveling clothes. She was wearing blue pants and a long sleeve blue button up shirt. She sighed and sat down. Rubbing her temples again. Hearing a knock as Alanna had let herself in.
"Sister Moiraine. Is there something you are not telling me?" Alanna asked.
"What do you mean?" Moiraine asked.
"The reds are hell bent for answers. As is our Science ajah." Alanna replied.
"None of this would have happened if she didn't send that letter!" Moiraine sighed with frustration.
"Moiraine." Alanna spoke as she looked at her green sister. "Is Alessia the Dragon?" Alanna asked with a worried look.
"Yes." Moiraine sighed. Betraying Siuan by telling this woman the truth.
"No wonder why they are on high alert with her. You know what will happen once the truth comes out." Alanna spoke.
"What more can they do to me? Still me? I'm already stilled!" Moiraine sighed.
"What? How? When?" Alanna asked as she sat down.
"When I took Alessia to Fal Dara to find out her true identity. A Forsaken was there and still me." Moiraine spoke.
"If I may ask. How are you still?" Lan began and then stopped.
"Still alive? Because I know in my heart that Alessia is my mission. To guide her and lead her in the right direction. That is my mission. To protect her." Moiraine spoke.
"Who is the Forsaken?" Alanna asked.
"His strongest. Elan Morin Tedronai is all I know about him. His name." Moiraine spoke.
"That means the other Forsakens are out there. That's why you had me make her drink that tea everyday! So they wouldn't find her." Alanna spoke as Moiraine nodded her head.
"Now, once Alessia gets better, the Sitters in the Hall are going to demand the truth." Moiraine spoke.
"We have to tell them. You cannot hide her anymore. You know this." Alanna spoke. Moiraine nodded her head.
"I just hope that the reds did not find out who she is." Moiraine spoke as she sat down as well. Lan had poured them drinks. Seeing Alanna take hers and drink it. Moiraine only held onto the cup.
"Liandrin is angry." Alanna then spoke.
"Of course she is. Alessia is her protege. I kept Alessia from contacting her." Moiraine spoke.
"That was a big mistake." Alanna spoke. "I have come to believe. Do you have feelings for our Dragon?" Alanna asked.
"How can you ask me that?" Moiraine deflected the question.
"I have seen the way you are around her. The way you look at her." Alanna spoke.
"It does not matter. Whatever happens when Alessia is feeling better, it will not look good on me." Moiraine spoke.
"I know she cares about you, Moiraine. Hopefully Mother will understand." Alanna spoke.
"It is not Mother I am worried about." Moiraine shook her head as her tone was deep.
"What do you mean?" Alanna was now confused.
"The Sitters called for her to come back. Not Mother." Moiraine spoke.
"That would mean…" Alanna spoke and gasped softly.
"That the Hall will call for a meeting without Mother to find out what happened and what I have been hiding." Moiraine answered.
"Light be with you Moiraine. Then again, with us. I wish you told me sooner. I would have found another way. Or try to find another way." Alanna sighed. Hearing a knock on the door as Lan answered it. It was Liandrin. She was angry. Her face was slightly red.
"I understand that you care for her, Moiraine. So, being the bigger person that I am, I came to give you an update. Alessia is poisoned from that tea. Drinking it everyday attacked her immune system. We do not know when she will awake. Sister Latra, Lanfear, and Lillen are doing everything they can to reverse the damage you have done. I swear by the Light Moiraine. If she dies." Liandrin's words were cut as she choked on her words. There were tears forming. "There will be hell to pay!" Liandrin spoke. With that, she left. Moiraine was now fearful. All she wanted was Alessia to be alright. Even if it meant her execution.
"Do not think like that." Lan spoke as Alanna raised a brow.
"Like what?" Alanna asked.
"You know that won't happen. Just pray she will be alright." Lan added.
"I cannot live with myself if my little Dragon doesn't wake." Moiraine spoke. Her words were now breaking. Putting her face into her hands as her emotions were showing. She had fought hard and long to control them. "For twenty years. I have searched for her. And if her failing is from my doing?" Moiraine asked.
"You did what you thought was right." Lan spoke. "Protect her the best way you could." He added.
"We will find out once the meeting is called." Moiraine then spoke. "Until then, pray for her." Alanna spoke as Moiraine nodded her head as did Lan. Watching her green sister take her leave.
"Did I truly mess up?" Moiraine then asked as Lan looked at her.
