Chapter 22: What do we do Now?!
Nami
I was still in bed. I was close to leaving, but then Ciara escaped and beat that big guy extremely easily. I thought there would be a big fight. It was a big disappointment to be honest.
With these big fights, everyone usually came together at some point. It happened in my village. I couldn't remember any other examples. It felt as if something was meant to happen but it didn't.
I had a single question. "What now?" I said.
Dr. Kureha was in the room and Ciara was there too. Ciara was sitting quietly with an annoyed face. Everyone was scared of interrupting her thoughts. Dr. Kureha was on the other side of the table. She was leaning back in her chair, fully relaxed.
"I guess we should tell everyone that the king is dead," said Dr. Kureha. "There will be much rejoicing throughout the street. We'll finally have other doctors around. I was getting tired of giving out discounts anyway."
Luffy was shivering in the corner. He chose that moment to say, "Hey, c-can I get a coat."
I decided to try something. "Why? It's not even cold."
"Oh, really," said Luffy. He got up. "Wow, you're right!" He ran out of the room while laughing. He left the door open.
Dr. Kureha walked to the door. "Chopper, keep an eye on him," she yelled out before closing the door and sitting down with a smirk. "Crazy kid."
"We paid for the treatment," I said. "Is there any way I could leave by the end of the day?"
"I don't know. You may never be able to leave."
"But that's not fair! What if we gave you Ciara?" I didn't know why I said it, we would sooner give up on our entire adventure than lose one of our members.
It didn't matter anyway. Our conversation was interrupted when Ciara slammed her head into the table. Her nose and the table were broken, and blood came from her nose.
"Why did you do that," I screamed.
Ciara didn't answer. She stood up, swaying like a drunkard. She grabbed her jaw and pushed it upwards. She fell backward into the door and slammed into it. She swung around and broke it into multiple pieces.
"Go fu-" her head slammed into the door frame. She broke the door frame. She slumped out and fell over the railing. The screams of Luffy and Chopper came out from the ground floor.
Chopper
I was following Luffy through the bottom floor of the castle. He had broken open the armory and was walking around with a sword, humming a tune.
"Look, I'm Zoro," he said while spinning it around. "Jelly-filled donut!"
"Be careful, Doctorine will have my head if you break something," I said.
"HAHaha," laughed Luffy. "What could possibly go wrong." He held the sword straight up.
At that exact moment, Dymon D. Ciara fell onto the sword. It went through the front of her right temple out the back of her left temple. Luffy drops the sword, and Ciara hits the floor.
She stays on the floor. "AHHHH," both me and Luffy scream. "She's dead!"
Then Ciara stood up. "Eph me ou!" She was slurring her speech and walked like Doctorine after too many drinks. "I've nuh goah ba!"
She nodded her head forward and back. The sword went in and out of her head as she did this. The blade was covered in blood, and I could swear there were bits of brain in there. Blood covered her face, chest, and everything on her back.
"I wa ow," she yelled again. I couldn't understand her. She stood still, looking at Luffy.
"Act calm," I whispered to him. "Don't provoke her."
"Chopper," yelled Doctorine from the balcony. "What did you do?!"
"Leph meh ow," yelled Ciara. She stepped forward. Then she tripped on her own foot. She landed on the handle. The blade of the sword was pointing towards her scalp. The way she fell caused it to go out in that direction. Her head, but more importantly her brain, was practically split in two. She didn't move.
Despite the look of it, I checked her pulse. Her pulse was regular, like nothing happened. I was surprised, anybody would've died from this.
I went into my muscle form and picked her up. I used one arm to hold her and the other to hold her head together. I took her to the room with Nami.
"Why'd you take her up here," asked Doctorine. "Ain't she dead?"
"What happened?" yelled Nami from the room.
"No," I said to Doctorine. I walked inside and put her in the free bed.
Nami stood up and pulled her to level by the fur on my neck. It didn't matter that I was several times her size. "Explain, now," she said.
I told her what happened with the sword. She was stunned. She sat in her bed.
"Is she ok," Luffy yelled as he ran to my side. "I don't want her to die! Just to make me the only captain!"
"Stop it, Luffy," said Nami. "Getting stabbed in the head won't be enough to kill her."
Luffy jumped in the air. "She's going to be okay! I still have a rival!"
I got a few bandages and put them onto Ciara's wounds. I didn't want to tell them that despite not being physically dead, there was a chance she never got up again. Brain damage is serious, and anything could happen.
TO BE CONTINUED...
A.N.: This one took a while, but don't worry. This story is not dead. I won't rest until I have more favorites than 'This Bites!' That's the only reason I'm writing this. I also happen to be a fan of One Piece but that doesn't matter.
