Welcome Message (PLEASE READ): Well, it's been a while since Karry Universe has been updated and I want to welcome you all to the Karry Five (or A Very Karry Anniversary as I will be calling it on Archive). What is the Karry Five? Well, if you follow us on our Facebook page above, you should know; if you don't, well you should but here I will explain. This is the nine-year anniversary of Karry Universe. Yes, it's been nine years since I updated the first chapter under 'Karry One Shots'. As you know, I always do anniversary chapters, but this year, since our next big segment (Kidnapped!) needs some multiverse ducks to put in a row before I can start writing and upload it, for the anniversary we decided to do something bigger than a solo chapter. You will be getting five chapters! Yes, five! Each chapter will be based on one of the Karry houses (the Penthouse, The Lake House, The Disney House, The Florida River House, and the Italian Villa), which is a concept Sigma suggested, and we expanded upon. So now, without further ado let's begin…
A Very Karry School Reunion
-March 2023-
Barry stood in front of the mirror, messing around with the tie. He had tied millions of ties since becoming the owner of STAR Co. for a ton of different events, but for some reason he couldn't get this one on properly.
"You will never get it tied like that," this was Kara, walking in from their bathroom in a beautiful light-blue dress, coming up to him and taking the two ends of the ties from his shaking hands as she herself tied it. "What has you so nervous?"
"Why are we doing this?" Barry countered.
"It's your high school reunion," Kara said as she completed the tie and tightened it. "We have met with politicians, heads of companies and faced super villains... I have never seen you this nervous."
"It's my high school reunion," Barry replied. "High school was not a happy time for me… I was the dorky kid with a dead mother and a father in jail for killing her, who I kept defending was innocent. I wasn't exactly popular."
"And since then, you have proven your father's innocence – he is a free man and married to Cat Grant, media mogul, you own a company that has made you a multi-billionaire and you will have a beautiful wife on your arm," Kara said, straightening the tie and handing Barry his jacket. "I'm sure that that suit you are putting on cost more than most of your former classmates' houses combined. You are walking back in there a King. Show off."
"You always know what to say," Barry smiled, feeling Kara sending him calming emotions through the bond as he kissed his wife.
"Well, the limo will be waiting outside for us soon. We should head down," Kara said, the two leaving their room and going down the stairs where Amelia and Winn were with all the kids.
"Looking nice you two," Amelia said. "Dress made by Michelle?"
"Yes," Kara said. "She does nice work. We have offered to expand her business, but she wants to do it without us. She says that by me wearing and sending pictures to her is enough," she meant the former one-third of Firestorm, Michelle, who was very much into fashion and was starting her own career now in the business.
"You two will be fine with six kids on your own?" Barry asked his younger sister and husband.
"We usually are," Winn said. "Besides, Romana and Star are our little helpers." The two older kids gave a smile at this
"And Kent will be in bed in a few hours. Eric, Alura, and Nora soon after. Go, have fun, we will be fine," Amelia said, knowing Barry's hesitation wasn't about leaving them with the kids but more about not wanting to go.
Kara gave Amelia a smile as she put her arms around Barry and directed him to the elevator; once in the lobby, the two walked towards the front door.
"Looking nice," Aida, one of their neighbors, called out, being in the lobby.
"Thank you," Kara said back.
"Heading somewhere important?" This one came from Maria, the Queen of Gossip as Amelia called her.
"Very," Kara said, giving Maria a smile, wondering if the woman even owned an apartment in their penthouse building now, the number of times she was always in the lobby. The two headed outside where the limo was waiting, with the limo driver waiting to open the door for them. Barry and Kara got in the car and waited for the limo driver to close the door and head to the front. "Wonder what the gossip will be about where we are going?"
"Knowing that crew they will have us at the White House," Barry said, giving a small chuckle at that as Barry looked out the window; since getting his powers, driving wasn't something he did, but it was necessary to appear normal for certain things to rent out cars or limos. It wasn't very fun when he could be where he needed to go a lot quicker, though – especially with city traffic.
It felt like forever before the driver stopped in front of a very familiar house – the house Barry grew up in after his mother's death. Previously owned by Joe West, but when Joe had moved to Washington DC to train FBI agents in Meta crimes, he had given it to Wally and Jesse. It was Iris West and Eddie Thawne who came out of the house now, though.
Iris was in a beautiful silver dress, while Eddie's suit seemed a little snug on him. The driver had gotten out to open the door for the two.
"Thanks for the ride," Iris said as they entered the limo and sat on one of the seats along the car's wall.
"Arriving in style is always nice," Eddie said as he sat next to his wife.
"It's no problem. Glad you could get back here to make it," Kara said.
"High School reunion? I wouldn't miss it," Iris grinned.
"Of course you wouldn't," Barry said, and Iris rolled her eyes at this. "Iris was Little Miss Popular. Cheerleader, football boyfriend, top in most of her classes – the works. It was almost an honor she let me talk to her in school," he added for Kara and Eddie.
"Oh, Barry get over it," Iris said, playfully pushing her foster brother. "We were best friends and siblings, and you know it. It's not my fault I was more popular with our classmates than you. Besides, with the way life worked out you won over everyone."
"That's exactly what I said," Kara said. "But you have a pretty great life too, to show off."
"Oh, my travels will definitely get some discussion but in terms of money… my salary pales in comparison to what you two make in a day. And my husband could use a diet," Iris joked, causing Kara and Barry to chuckle at that
"Hey!" Eddie said. "It's not like I have meta or alien powers that can keep me slim."
"Good point," Barry spoke up at this, his speedster powers and Kara's Kryptonian physiology having that benefit for the both of them.
"It's true," Iris said to Eddie but gave him a kiss on the lips anyway. "But lucky for you, I don't mind the extra weight you gained." Eddie brought Iris closer as Barry put an arm around Kara.
"Well, you have a very rich brother you can still show off, so any talk of money can go that way," Kara smirked to Iris, who laughed at that. They would be pulling into their old High School soon.
…
As the limo stopped in front of the high school, the driver opened the door for them. Iris and Eddie went out first followed by Kara and Barry was last. He immediately saw old school classmates in nice outfits staring as Barry took out a cash tip for the driver.
"Be back here at the end of the night on time," Barry said.
"Will be sir," the driver said with a nod, taking the tip with a smile and heading for the limo driver's seat to move the car and find a place to wait for his time to come back.
Barry held out his arm to Kara who took it, letting Barry lead her into the school gym, following Iris and Eddie. The two could see the eyes on them; they were used to eyes on them, considering who they were in the private lives and their Superhero lives, but his felt different to Barry though. Maybe because he recognized all the people… vaguely. They were older, but still recognizable.
As they got to the check in desk, there were a couple of older teachers there, clearly those who had volunteered to work here. Barry recognized them as some of his old teachers, too. There was one younger one who was free that they went up to.
"Barry Allen," Barry said.
"Barry," the girl said, and Barry saw she was wearing a name tag too. "Elinor Simon, remember me?"
"Yes, you ran a book club, right?" Barry asked.
"Yes," Elinor said. "I'm a teacher here now."
"That's great! This is my wife Kara," Barry said, knowing Kara was keeping silent but had been waiting for him to introduce her.
"I know. I follow STAR Co," Elinor said. "I have a Gideon and a lot of other inventions." she smiled. "Good to meet you." Elinor said holding out a hand.
"Same to you," Kara said, taking the hand as Elinor found their name tags.
"Talk a bit more later," Elinor said giving them a smile as they moved off back into the gym.
"Old girlfriend?" Kara asked and Barry could feel her amusement through the bond.
"No," Barry said sharing some memories of High School with Kara. "We talked, partnered up in a few class projects, but not a girlfriend. Probably should have been the type of girl I went for in High School."
Kara decided to let that slide. She knew in High School Barry had a crush on Iris. A crush that had vanished the moment Barry met her. Kara wondered if Barry had dated anyone here. I dated Becky Cooper for a bit, Barry sent the thought to Kara's mind. She was a nightmare. I'll point her out if I see her.
Kara gave a small smile as they grabbed some punch from a bowl. It was shortly that a group of people surrounded them and by the looks of them alone Kara was sure they were former football players and cheerleaders – people Kara couldn't see her husband being close friends with.
"Barry," one of the men greeted him, putting an arm around Barry's shoulder which Kara could see and feel Barry was uncomfortable by. "Been too long."
"Todd, will you let me go," Barry said.
"Oh, come on. Just having some fun like we used to in High School. Me and Tony always teasing you around," Todd said, and Kara understood instantly this was one of Barry's bullies – Tony Woodward having had been a bully of Barry's who became a meta human, and they had put away.
"I am not sure that was as fun for my husband," Kara said, putting a hand on this Todd's arm. "Let him go."
"Whatever the lady wants," Todd said moving back.
Thanks, Barry thought back to Kara, sharing a brief, albeit blurry memory of one of the times this man, along with Tony himself, had bullied Barry, pushing him into the lockers. It was so long ago, though, that Barry didn't remember it all too clearly, of course.
Anytime, Kara thought back, sympathetically. She'd never been bullied in school, but that was more likely due to Alex being an over-protective older sister, and by the time Alex had graduated, Kara had her group of friends and support system.
"Hi, I'm Cindy," the voice distracted the couple as a new woman came up, giving Kara a smile. "You know… Barry and I had a date once."
"I wouldn't call it that," Barry spoke up at this. "I asked you to the junior prom and you said yes but then stood me up."
"Well…." Cindy started. "Everyone knew you were in love with Iris. I thought, maybe if she saw you hurt, she would be your date…" It was a lame excuse and Cindy knew that.
"Someone say my name?" This was Iris coming up from behind, with Eddie, and giving Barry and Kara a nod. They had some punch in paper cups each.
"Just remembering how Barry had a big crush on you in High School. Really thought some day you two would be a thing," Cindy said, giving Iris a smile.
"Barry?" Iris said. "He's basically my brother."
"And Iris is my sister," Barry added.
"I actually introduced him and Kara. She was my college roommate, after all," Iris supplied. "I guess you and Tony never lasted?" Kara gave a smirk; so, Cindy had been Tony's girlfriend. That made sense.
"I never knew what happened to him," Cindy said.
"I heard he became a meta human and got taken down by the Flash," Iris spoke up, giving Barry a little wink as Barry tried not to smirk. "Guess you know how to pick 'em. Where is your husband?"
"Not currently married," Cindy said with an open shrug.
"Oh, too bad. I'm sure the right one will come around eventually," Iris said and turned to one of the other girls. This gave Kara and Barry the opportunity to get away from the woman, with Barry's former bully having kept back.
"Well… Iris to the rescue," Kara said. "She could join the Justice League with timing like that."
"We can call her the Time Saver," Barry voiced his own thought on a hero name. The pair gave a laugh at that.
"Barry?" Another voice said, and Kara saw the smile as two men walked up. "We were hoping you would come here. Weren't sure if we would see you."
"Kevin, Will," Barry said with a smile, holding out a hand and the three high fived. "Oh, my wife Kara. Kara, this is Kevin and Will. They were my good friends in High School."
"We spent our High School days collecting Pokémon cards," Kevin said.
Ah, the original Nerd Gang, Kara thought to Barry, who tried to hold his expression as the other talked.
"And playing video games," Will added. "Speaking of which, I love the STAR Gaming System – especially Survivors of Rao! I made a nomadic Kryptonian race that went from planet to planet. It allowed me to see so much of the game and plan planets for real civilizations." Barry now sent calming emotions to Kara, knowing some civilizations on Survivors of Rao could annoy his wife but then realized she didn't mind this one. The concept of a nomadic Kryptonian race was weirdly close to home, but in a nice way for Kara.
"Not my favorite of the STAR Gaming games," Kevin spoke up.
"Oh, he's just sore because he killed his civilization three times," Will said, pushing Kevin a bit.
"So… you two are still close?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, we both stayed in the city for college, so we kept in touch,' Kevin said. "Why don't you get some food and join us at our table. Our partners are there," Kara gave Barry a nod and the two moved off where some food was laid out; both grabbing something small and heading to where tables were. Kevin and Will were not hard to find, although Will was with another man while Kevin was with a woman.
Barry and Kara joined them, and Kara could feel Barry was finally having fun catching up with his two old friends. Their partners were nice and polite but seemed intimated by the Allens, and Kara knew some people were intimidated by their wealth.
"Oh, did you grab the What's Everyone Up To book?" Kevin finally said, taking out a book that almost looked like a yearbook. "You have a big section. Looks like you had someone professionally write it."
"I didn't send anything in for this," Barry frowned, knowing they were making a book for the reunion, but had basically ignored doing anything for it, figuring the school could just take his Wikipedia profile or something.
"I… maybe have written something up," Kara said, giving Barry a nudge as he took the offered book and flipped the page. He wasn't hard to find – there was a photo of him he recognized as one Kara had taken. Alongside it, were a few very well worded paragraphs about his life:
Barry Allen, an alumnus of Metropolis University, pursued a career as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) to demonstrate his father's innocence. He ultimately succeeded when Harrison Wells, also known as the Reverse Flash, confessed the crime, resulting in his father's release and subsequent marriage to Cat Grant.
Following his father's exoneration Barry inherited STAR Labs and established STAR Co., which encompasses STAR Labs, Little STAR, Palmer Tech, STAR Gotham, and STAR Metropolis. The company is renowned for significant scientific advancements, such as enabling individuals with paralysis to walk again along with terraforming planets. Furthermore, STAR Gaming has created an array of products, including the toy Beebo and the highly acclaimed game "Survivors of Rao."
Barry places great importance on his family. He is married to his college sweetheart, Kara Allen (formerly Danvers), and they have five children: Star Kori, Romana Rhea, Alura Felicity, Nora Lara, and Kent Garrick Allen. His younger sister, Amelia Allen, her spouse Winn Allen, and their son Eric Phillip also reside with them in their Penthouse in Central City.
In conclusion, Barry Allen upholds a distinguished professional career while successfully managing a fulfilling personal life.
"That was really good Kara," Barry said, amazed at the small biography.
"You know, I don't remember you having a little sister," Kevin said.
"She was in boarding school throughout our childhood," Barry covered. "Didn't mention her much, what with my dad's imprisonment…" Kevin gave a nod, still seeming unsure but let the topic drop.
The group chatted for a bit longer and soon a DJ started to play music. Kevin and Will's partners wanted to dance, so they left the table.
"Hold on a second," Barry said to Kara as they headed for the dance floor. Barry went and talked to the DJ, purposely blocking Kara from his mind for a bit.
"What was that?" Kara asked as Barry rejoined her.
"You'll see," Barry smirked, and after the song currently playing was over Kara knew what Barry had done as a very familiar song came on.
No more talk of darkness, forget these wide-eyed fears, the words played as Kara leaned into Barry and danced to their son.
"Why would they play this?" Kara heard someone complain.
"It's their song," Iris responded to whoever said. "My guess is Barry requested it."
"Wonderful song," the person said back quickly, and Kara almost chuckled, but decided to get lost in the music as she danced with her husband.

Later, after dropping Iris and Eddie back at the West house at the end of the night, Kara and Barry had gone back to their Penthouse, walking in quietly.
"You two are later than we thought…" the couple were kind of surprised to see Amelia and Winn were still up, snuggled together on the couch.
"You didn't need to wait up for us," Kara said, interrupting Amelia.
"We wanted to see how everything went." Winn said. "What's with the fake crown…?" Winn noticed Barry was holding a fake crown in his hands.
"Barry got voted King of the Reunion," Kara said, making Amelia laugh. Barry tossed the fake crown at her, and it paused a moment before she grabbed it from midair; Barry knew Amelia did that with her telekinesis.
"People were just trying to suck up. Either for money or jobs," Barry sighed.
"Including your friend Will, who wanted a job at STAR Gaming," Kara pointed out; before they left, Will had made mention on being an out-of-work video game designer and clearly had been trying to hint at getting a job. "I thought the one who questioned us on how to move to Titania or Callisto was interesting, though."
"Except for Cindy, who tried to tell me what a great actress she would be," Barry said. "Can't believe I got forced to dance with her since she was voted Queen."
"It couldn't have been all bad," Amelia said.
"No, it was actually nice," Barry mused. "Spending some time with Iris and Eddie again was good, seeing some people I haven't in a long time was nice – brought back some memories. In fact…" Barry ran out before he finished the sentence, making everyone pause. He returned a moment later with two large cardboard boxes. "Some old High School stuff of mine; Joe had it stored in his garage and Wally and Jesse never touched it."
"Oh, let's see," Kara said as Barry slipped open the top. The first thing to be taken out was clearly a yearbook which he passed to Kara. Kara was sitting on the couch as Amelia leaned close to look, too.
Barry took out some other odds and ends – textbooks, old homework assignments, some other old items that clearly belonged in the garbage. "Oh pictures," Barry said taking out a photo album. "Me and Iris."
"What's this binder?" Winn said taking out a long binder and flipping it open. "Pokémon cards?"
"I was wondering where that binder went to," Barry said. "My bests cards are in that."
Winn was already looking over the cards. "You have a Charizard card" I was never able to get one!" Winn paused for a moment, brought the binder in closer and then took the card out of its spot. "No way… Barry this is a First Edition Charizard!"
"I am aware," Barry said. "Cost me an arm and a leg when I was in High School to get it. I had a competition with some friends on who would get one first."
"You know how much this is worth now?" Winn said.
"A lot less than me," Barry said back, and Winn blinked. He looked at Barry for a moment and then gave a nod. "Put that back, would you? I am very glad I didn't lose it."
"First edition…" Winn mumbled as he put the card safely back in its spot.
"I think I know what to get Winn for his birthday," Amelia joked as Winn continued to look at the card for a moment and then started looking through the others in the binder.
Kara laughed as Winn pointed out some other cards Barry had that might have been rare or unusual.
"I took Pokémon collecting very seriously in High School," Barry said back to that with a smile. "Got a few more binders full of cards somewhere," Winn looked up at Barry like a kid on Christmas when he said that, and the girls turned back to the yearbook letting the boys chat.
-Karry Universe-
Kara walked down the stairs. After a while of looking through Barry's old school memories, she had gone to go check on the kids. Alura and Nora were asleep, and Eric had been sleeping in the bed with Nora while Alura was snuggled with Hex. It had been a very cute sight. Kara guessed Amelia and Winn hadn't wanted to move him down to his room. Kent was sound asleep in his crib as well, with Krypto sleeping by the boy. Romana and Star had officially moved to the rooms downstairs, so Kara guessed that's where they were sleeping.
"Where did Amelia and Winn go?" Kara asked, seeing Barry sitting on the floor. He had removed the top to the other box he had brought with him.
"They got tired and went downstairs. They told me to tell you Eric was asleep in the girls' room," Barry said. "I told them you knew." Kara gave a smile at that.
"Still looking over old High School things?" Kara asked.
"Nope," Barry said giving Kara smirk and Kara could feel his excitement at the box. "This one was college."
Kara herself felt excited as she got on the floor next to Barry to see what was in it. The first thing she took out was a flyer for a cookout.
"Our first date," Kara said, remembering Barry had at first invited her to be his date to a welcoming barbeque.
"I kept everything that had to do with you," Barry said taking out another piece of paper. "Karaoke Bar, where we first sang our song. The flier for the nights' event. An invitation to Lois and Clark's wedding. And here, the invitation Lois got us to the Museum to see that precious gem."
"The night we became the heroes who saved Superman," Kara said.
"And both the Daily Planet and CatCo articles about it: Terror in the Night – Superman Saved by College Teens," Barry read off the title from the CatCo paper. "Cat always had a way with words."
"She did, although I did like the Daily Planet article," Kara took the clipped-out article too.
"Fright at the Museum – Superman Saved by Hero Teens," Barry read out from the clipping in Kara's hard. "It is good, but I mean, Cat's one…" he moved back to the article he had.
"To think she's now your stepmom," Kara said smiling at the old article and the photo of her and Barry in fancy outfits taken inside the museum.
"And look, the bonfire," Barry said.
"And… sand?" Kara noted an envelope of sand attached to a photo of the bonfire.
"Sand from the beach," Barry explained, and Kara just simply nodded.
"It was the night Alex came to visit. According to her, the night she started her drinking problem…" Kara said, giving a sad smile at that paper; the two sharing memories of the nights' as they talked about.
"So many photos," Barry said taking out pictures. "This could be called the string of Iris's bad boyfriends…" Barry quickly tossed out photos of Iris with different boys; Kara laughing at the memories of Iris's boyfriends he shared with her.
"It's amazing she got a good guy in Eddie," Kara said as Barry showed some more photos. "Man, do you even remember the names of some of our college friends?"
"No, we seemed to have fallen in and out of groups," Barry said. "Oh, here is the articles about us saving those people from the fire at college!" Barry grabbed the papers out.
"Oh, it's this picture I like," Kara said, taking out another photo. It was clearly taken at Eliza old house back in Midvale. "This was the day I told you who I really was."
"An alien parasite," Barry joked, sharing the memories of Alex walking in drunk yelling that at Kara who now laughed as she playfully pushed her husband.
"So many good memories in here. Surprised they all fit into this box," Kara said.
"Think about it," Barry said. "I went from this…" Barry held up his high school yearbook. "To this," Barry pointed at the photo in Kara's hand. "To all this..." Barry held out his hands indicating the Penthouse. "How can one guy be so lucky?"
"You are the Speed Force's chosen, half a Paragon of the multiverse," Kara said. "And you found me. That's how. Come on, we'll find a better place than an old box for all this tomorrow. Let's go to bed."
"Yeah," Barry said, putting the stuff safely back in the boxes, but he didn't want these memories just staying here. They had three floors here and enough businesses and houses to display everything important. "I am glad you made me go to the reunion." Barry said aloud and then switched to his head to say: You were right. It was a good thing to do.
I usually am right, Kara thought back as they headed for the stairs.
"So, when is your reunion?" Barry asked. "Maybe we should go to that one too?"
"Midvale doesn't do reunion. Not since I was in High School was their last. There was some incident with a gym catching fire and the school is, unfortunately, very in debt. Don't ask. Surprised they didn't come to me to bail them out," Kara said and Barry laughed.
Post Chapter Note: Well then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Fun fact is, this was my original idea for a reunion chapter for Karry this year before I decided on doing the entire five plot Very Karry Anniversary idea. It felt sweet and I'm glad I was still able to use it as the 'Penthouse chapter' for this idea.
So Next Time on Karry Universe:
A Very Karry Disney Craze: With Disney World soon to be closing down some beloved attractions Amelia takes all the kids there for one last ride, leading Kara and Barry back to their house in Disney Golden Oaks.
