It was a surprisingly peaceful night at Van Ghoul Castle; it went unnoticed when a mysterious figure landed on the roof. His cape was swaying in the breeze as he removed the pane from the window and slipped inside. His mistake was not accounting for the sound of the glass when it crashed to the ground outside. Vincent Van Ghoul was stirred from his sleep. The intruder ducked into the corner as Vincent entered the room.

"Who's there?" he demanded. "Reveal yourself," Vincent surveyed the treasures in his trophy room, nothing seemed out of place. His guard remained up, but his focus was elsewhere when the intruder struck with a stinging pulse that sent the sorcerer tumbling to the ground. "What trickery is this?" Vincent exclaimed as he saw the figure through the corner of his eye. He was tall, muscular, clad in blue with a long cape and cowl with a beetle emblazoned on his chest, and white slits for eyes.

"My scarab sting will hold you just long enough for me to claim my prize Van Ghoul," replied the Blue Scarab. He then moved to an enchanted display case and smashed it before taking a single item about eight inches long with a tip. "Finally the cosmic pen of Demondo is mine."

"You fiend, do you have any idea the power you hold?"

"Indeed. And since Demondo failed to join Maldor the Malevolent; it has been given to me!"

Vincent felt himself coming free from the paralysis as the Scarab left the room. He gave chase but as soon as he was back in the hall there was nobody to be found. On the ground was a single sheet from a comic book and on the page, he could see the masked menace running away through the panel. Vincent rushed to raise the alarm.

Meanwhile, back in Royal Woods in the front yard of the Loud house. Lola was practicing for her next pageant. Lincoln had been drafted to be her dancing partner for that portion of the little miss graceful competition. It was going well until Lola stepped on her brother's foot. "Sorry Linky," she said apologetically. Her brother nodded, it didn't hurt that bad. "Alright Lana, from the top."

Before Lana could push the button, the mail truck pulled up and shoved a ton of mail into the family's box. Lynn Jr. bolted past her siblings and snagged the mail. "Yes!" she exclaimed, yanking out her baseball schedule. Then she rattled off more mail for their Dad, Mom, Luna, and then she hollered "Lincoln, since when do you get comic books in the mail?" She tossed a comic book to him.

"Huh," Lincoln replied, as he caught the comic, "I don't even read this series." The comic cover had the words 'Blue Scarab' in pointy navy letters. "Probably the company is trying to publicize a new series." He deduced. Lola made him sit the comic inside the house and go back to practicing. A minute later they heard a scream.

"That's Luna!" Lynn cried and the four of them burst into the house. Lincoln slipped on the comic book, which he had no idea how it ended up on the floor. When they burst into Luna and Luan's room they found their sister cowering on top of her bed clutching her guitar. The safe where she and Luan kept their money from their music and comedy shows was wide open. Lincoln, Lynn and twins were alarmed to see the character from the comic book rummaging through the contents.

"W-what's happening?" Lincoln exclaimed.

The Blue Scarab chuckled triumphantly and pulled his prize from the vault. The Louds immediately recognized the item as the diamond they had found in the museum when they battled the Mummy of Ankha. "Ironic I know, the Scarab stealing a scarab" the villain exclaimed.

"Give that back!" Lynn exclaimed, before trying to tackle him. But his scarab sting left her paralyzed on the ground. Her siblings gasped in horror. The Blue Scarab meanwhile disappeared out the window taking the jewel with him. The kids let him go as they tried to attend to Lynn. "Who was that?" she asked before being smothered in hugs from her concerned siblings after the feeling returned to her body.

Luan then entered the room and saw everyone's expressions. "I get the feeling I missed something," she said.

Lincoln quickly called Fred to tell Mystery Inc what happened. Within a few hours, he, Daphne, Scooby and Scrappy were all at the Loud House to examine the crime scene. Fred had the comic Lynn had found in the mail. "The Blue Scarab must have come from the comic book," said Fred.

"According to Mr. Van Ghoul; he stole a magic pen from him that allows him to travel through the pages of comics," Lincoln explained.

"That pen belonged to Demondo, one of the original 13 ghosts from the Chest of Demons," Daphne added.

"And now he's got the mummy's diamond" Lola chimed in.

"What do you think he's gonna do next?" Lana asked.

"Tough to say, the first time we caught the Blue Scarab he was acting out the crimes from his comic book" Fred explained. He and Lincoln began studying the comic to see what happened in the story.

Luna meanwhile noticed the blinking low battery indicator on her laptop which she had forgotten to turn off after the Blue Scarab attacked. Scooby was making faces into her webcam. "Oh no! I've been live streaming this whole time!" she exclaimed. First, she stopped the stream, then plugged in her computer. The Recording was posted online with her and Scooby in the last still as the thumbnail with the caption "Ranking Female Rock Stars" for a five-hour video. "Dang it, nobody's gonna watch that!" She then realized that there had been some viewers and one new like. Everyone turned as Luna squealed after she read it. "You guys! I just got a like from the lead singer of the Hex Girls!"

"Wait, you mean that rock band that dresses like Lucy?" Lana asked.

"Exactly!" Luna exclaimed. Her computer pinged again. "EEEE, she sent me a comment. I can't stand it, read it to me!"

Lana clicked and read it out loud. "Start off waiting to see where we come in the ranking and then I'm like - is that Scooby Doo?"

"What, Scooby Doo since when do you know the Hex Girls?" Luna asked excitedly.

"We've met them before a couple of times, I did their makeup for a concert once, and actually the first time we caught the Yowie Yahoo they were there," Daphne recounted. Luna was dumbfounded. Then suddenly her phone rang.

Meanwhile, Fred and Lincoln had finished the comic trying to determine how to track down the Blue Scarab. "This is really tricky, the Blue Scarab is the hero in these, we can't predict his next move. Especially since this one technically came from the Chest of Demons" contemplated Fred.

"Well, he's stealing magical items so maybe Mr. Van Ghoul has something else we can lure him out with," Scrappy suggested.

"Well, we better catch this ghost quick!" Daphne chimed in. "Because Thorn just sent us tickets for their show tonight and we're gonna have to get on the road if we're gonna make it there by tonight.

Meanwhile, miles away at an undisclosed location the Blue Scarab was attaching the mummy's jewel to his cape. Weerd and Bogel watched lazily. "Finally it's finished" Scarab exclaimed.

"Question, why did you mess up your comic accurate costume?" Bogel asked.

"Because of the magic nature of the diamond scarab, the wearer is immune to magical imprisonment including the Chest of Demons. So long as it is in my possession, I no longer have to fear recapture" Blue Scarab replied.

Bogel was amazed. "Ooo, Vincent Van Ghoul and all those kids are going to freak! Aren't they Weerd?"

But Weerd had stopped paying attention, he was on a laptop and then exclaimed, "Score!"

"Is this relevant?" the Scarab demanded.

"Well maybe not for you, but I just got me and Bogel two tickets to Hex Girls tonight! There was a bidding war, but I told them we couldn't afford it because my mom needed an operation. They fell for it hook, line, and sinker!" he replied.

"Wait a minute Weerd, your mom is my mom; and she never got sick!" Bogel said, confused.

Weerd grinned mischievously, said "but they don't know that" then he laughed.

"It is fortunate for you two, that your assistance is not required!" Blue Scarab replied. "It is time for me to finally do away with those meddling kids!" He whipped out the magic pen, "and assuming they haven't disposed of that comic book I'll be able to find them." The villain crackled, then dove back into the book.

Later back at the Loud house, Vincent had reached out from the crystal ball. When they asked him about the possible magic relics the Blue Scarab might target next, he said that with the two magic items he had, it was likely he would go after them directly both as revenge on the Scooby gang, and to get the chest of demons from the Louds. He also warned them of the magic capabilities of the diamond scarab. "So, we've got to get the scarab and pen away from and then we can trap him in the chest." Lynn Jr. recapped.

"And don't forget what he did to you" Luan added "his sting made you para-lie on the floor, Hahaha get it?"

"Dudes we gotta focus, remember we're on a deadline!" Luna interjected.

Lincoln then reappeared after going to his room for supplies. "Alright, I've got my official Ace Savvy throwing cards, and grappling hook. Why not fight a ghost superhero with real superhero skills!"

"We should probably focus on the pen first, that way he can't jump back into that comic book and get away," Fred added. "Wait, where is that comic?"

"Oh, were we not done with it?" Lana said in surprise. "I tore out all the pages and used them to line the bottom of Walt's birdcage."

"Ok, Scooby, Lana and Lola, you stand guard at the birdcage. Luan you go get the chest of demons out of Lisa's bunker." Fred instructed.

When they got downstairs, Scooby and the twins found Scrappy surrounding the floor underneath the cage with the Loud children's roller skates. "Uh Scrappy, what are you doing?" Lana asked.

"Just setting up a patented Scrappy trap, if the Blue Scarab pops out of the comic book pages he fills the birdcage, probably making break open then he'll flop to the ground and land on the skates, he'll then roll on them and into this pile of Lynn's dirty laundry!"

Lola plugged her nose and commented, "and that smell would knock him out easily."

"That's right, so be ready to grab the diamond" Scrappy said.

"But do you really think he'd be crazy enough to come back here?" Lana asked. As if on cue the pages began shaking in the cage. Walt flew out of the cage and started pages fluttering and emitting blue smoke.

"Yes, yes I do," Scrappy replied. Scooby was panicking; he stumbled backwards stepping into Lori and Leni's roller skates and zipped across the room. The Blue Scarab jumped out the page and landed on the floor in front of Scrappy and the twins. "Dang it, he missed the Scrappy trap!"

"Well now I've got you trapped!" Blue Scarab cackled. But before he could strike, Scooby skated into him, and they both crashed out the front door.

"Good work Uncle Scooby!" Scrappy said. They looked out the door and saw Scooby and the Scarab skating down the road.

"O-k we better go after them" Lola added.

Scooby and the Blue Scarab barreled down the street, picking up speed as they went down the hill. Scooby wished he had opted to go with Shaggy for his root canal. The Blue Scarab stung him but that just stopped Scooby's flailing and grounded his feet, making them go even faster. "You pesky mutt! It's high time I" the Blue Scarab was interrupted by the blaring horn of the Mystery Machine. Fred was speeding after them.

Lincoln stuck his head out the window and called, "Scooby grab the diamond!" But the Blue Scarab grabbed a lamp post as they passed and jumped off Scooby who skated into a bush. Then he somersaulted and then ran into Flip's Food and Fuel.

The Mystery Machine pulled over and Lincoln, Lana, and Scrappy dashed to the bush to check on Scooby. They pulled the great dane from the briars. Scooby winced as they plucked them out of his fur. "You nearly had him Uncle Scooby," Scrappy bragged.

"Quick, he went this way!" Fred called and they headed inside the Food and Fuel. Food was scattered all over the flow. "Where did he go?"

They heard a gurgling sound. Luan spotted the source and in the nacho cheese machine where two feet were sticking out of the top. With help from Fred and Daphne they managed to pull the manager, Flip, out of the cheese. "Flip what happened?" she asked.

Flip wiped the cheese out of his eyes and his mouth, then replied. "Some crazy guy in a Halloween costume came in, I caught trying to shoplift that comic, and then he slammed me in the machine!" Scooby grabbed some chips and began catching the cheese that dripped off him. "Hey, you're gonna have to pay for that dog!"

Daphne paid Flip for the nachos and the comic book. "Too bad we can't just shove that comic into the chest of demons" Luna complained. "We've got to get to the concert!"

"Good idea Luna" Fred replied, surprising everyone. He explained his plan to them as they gathered supplies.

Thirty minutes later they pulled into the parking lot of the concert. A line of over a hundred had already formed around the block.

"Oh great, we can't get inside to set up," Lola grumbled. She was carrying the comic book which they had rolled up to prevent the Blue Scarab from getting out. They were approached by a security man with an earpiece. He insisted they follow him.

"But we just got here; I haven't had time to get us in any trouble" Luan joked. Her siblings were not amused, but Mystery Inc was not worried. The guard opened the door and ushered them inside. Sitting in the room were a trio of girls, dressed like a combination of vampires and witches. The Hex Girls were tuning their musical instruments, but they looked up when the gang and the Louds came into the room.

"Guys meet Thorn, Luna and Dusk," Fred introduced.

"Th-the h-h-h-hex girls" Luna uttered before fainting backwards into Lynn's arms.

"You'll have to forgive her, she's a kind of music nerd" Daphne said as she embraced the Hex Girls.

"No worries, fainting fans are nothing new," replied Thorn, the lead singer. "So based on her video it looks like you guys have a superhero ghost to catch?" Scooby confirmed by nodding emphatically.

"Thanks for letting us set up in your greenroom," Fred added.

"Hey, no sweat, this place has three of them," replied Dusk.

"Besides you've helped us out plenty of times in the past, it's the least we can do" added the Hex Girl's keyboard player Luna while she patted Scooby on the head.

After depositing Luna Loud onto a couch, the gang and the Loud kids went ahead with setting up their trap for the Blue Scarab. They were unaware, the villain had already emerged from another comic book that was discarded in the parking lot.

He discovered the empty Mystery Machine, then began scanning the line for the meddling kids but he did spot two familiar figures wearing trench coats and sunglasses. "Weerd! Bogel!" he called as he moved over to the two ghosts.

"Hey, no cutting in line!" roared the large, bearded fan standing behind them. The Blue Scarab leered at him.

"Hey sorry, if you wanted to see the show you should've bought a ticket!" Bogel said, peeking out from behind his sunglasses.

"You imbeciles, those Loud brats and those pesky dogs are here!" Blue Scarab replied.

"Well, they must be luckier than you to get tickets," Weerd added. "And if you recall you said you didn't need us! So, if you do manage to find them and need some help, don't expect any from us, you gave us the day off!"

Blue Scarab grumbled and huffed away toward the back door of the concert hall. However, Scrappy picked the perfect moment to glance out the window. Alarmed, he dashed back to warn the others the ghost was early.

"We need more time, if this is going to work" Fred exclaimed.

"Leave it to me," replied Lincoln "Scooby, Scrappy, Lynn, you're with me!" They headed out of the room with Scrappy carrying his scared uncle.

The Scarab was lurking in the hallways opening doors looking for the kids. "Party's over you vile villain!" The Scarab turned to face Lincoln who had donned his Ace Savvy costume. "Your reign of terror ends here!"

"Hahaha, you're a fool to face me alone boy. I possess such power that not even your precious Chest of Demons can defeat me!"

"Who said I was alone!" he replied.

"Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh puppy power!" Scrappy, Scooby, and Lynn fell out of the vent and ground pounded the Scarab. He threw them off, before they could grab the diamond from his chest. But Lincoln hurled his Ace Savvy cards at him.

"Missed me!" he sneered, but he got up and couldn't move as the cards pinned his cape against the wall. "Well played boy!" He pulled out a torn page from the comic book he emerged from, and dabbed Demondo's pen to it. With one stroke the dinosaur that was one the page leapt off the page and growled at them; it wasn't as big as a real T-rex but still intimidating. It charged at them and the kids and dogs left the Scarab pinned to the wall.

"I'll be honest, I was not prepared for this!" Lincoln said in a panic as the four of them ran.

"I got an idea," Lynn replied, "still got that grappling hook?" Lincoln passed it to her. "Grab me as soon as I fire!"

As they turned the corner Lynn aimed at the sprinkler pipe on the ceiling, she snagged it and the four of them looped the pipe and landed on the dinosaur's back. "Yeehaw giddy up," Scrappy exclaimed and they turned it back towards the Blue Scarab. The Scarab had pulled all of the cards out of his cape, and was about to resume his hunt when the Louds and Doos turned the corner of the T-Rex's back. "Alright Scarab, prepare to splat!"

"A minor annoyance; easily rectified!" replied the Blue Scarab, whipping back out the pen. But as he recalled the dinosaur to the page, Scooby leapt at him and bit his wrist. He winced in pain and dropped the pen. Lincoln grappled it with his toy and the four of them retreated with the Scarab in pursuit.

"I hope they've got the trap all set!" Lincoln mumbled as they entered the green room with the Blue Scarab hot on their trail.

Inside the room was dark. The Blue Scarab could not see them as he slammed the door behind him. "You're trapped cowards, show yourselves!" But the lights switched on he saw mirrors on all sides and in their reflection wasLuan Loud.

"Hey Mr. Blue, do you know what the best smelling bug is? A deodor-ant, hahaha get it?" she joked.

"The time for joking is over," the Scarab replied.

"Maybe for you, because if you jump at the wrong me, you're gonna get seven years of bad luck, so 'reflect on that'." Luan taunted. The Scarab lunged with his sting and chose wrong knocking back the mirror, while he was momentarily unable to sting again, Scooby and Scrappy yanked back his cape knocking him to the ground and Lana and Lola tried to hold him down but he threw them off.

"You meddling kids and your dogs!" he said to Fred and Daphne who had caught the twins. "Our revenge against both you and the house of Loud will not be stopped!"

They were stunned for a moment. "What do you mean?" Fred demanded.

"You seem to forget who is in charge here: and it's far more satisfying to leave you guessing!" The Scarab laughed.

"Last chance Scarab, talk!" said Lincoln. But the Scarab stung him, and he collapsed into his sister Luna's arms.

"That's it, you're finished bug" Luna angrily snapped. "Hocus pocus, spirit rest, return oh return to the demon chest!"

The Blue Scarab smiled, and habitually touched his neck only to realize it was bare. Panicking, he scanned the room to see Lola holding the diamond she had grabbed when they pinned him. In a flash of horror, he was jerked backwards as his cape was caught pulling him into the Chest of Demons. Luan's shutting of the chest was visible in all the mirrors.

"Okay that was too close!" Daphne said, as she sat Lana down. The Loud sisters all gathered around their brother who was still recovering from the sting.

"You're okay bro," Luna said reassuringly. And moments later the feeling returned to his body.

"And this makes nine ghosts recaptured, Scrappy said, "we are on a roll!" Scrappy said; and Scooby hoped he hadn't jinxed them.

The Hex Girls then entered the room and saw the mess. "Well based on the state of this room, I guess you busted your ghost!" Thorn coolly congratulated them.

"I hope the venue doesn't get mad at you," Daphne said.

"Relax, when we did a show with Alisa, we left that green room twice as trashed; besides the box office we make more than covers this. Now come on, you don't want to miss the show do ya? We've already started warming up the crowd." Luna added.

"Huh, come on dudes, we can't miss the rest of the concert!" Luna Loud said, jumping up.

"Actually, we've got one more thing for you to do first," Thorn responded, holding up her tablet; it showed the video of the Louds playing at the Royal Woods Family fun fair. "I know but we invited you to watch the concert, but now I think this calls for you guys come on stage and do a song with us."

The siblings gasped, "s-seriously?" Luna exclaimed, her siblings mirroring her surprise.

"Hey Scooby and friends always do it," Dusk laughed. "Just grab a cape and get ready to rock!"

Two minutes later everyone was up on stage playing with the Hex Girls. Scrappy, volunteered to videotape from the front row. But up in the nosebleeds they were unaware that Weerd and Bogel were rocking out to the song. "I'm gonna put a spell on you!" they sang along.

"Down in front!" called the bearded hippy fan from behind them. The two ghosts sat down, still oblivious to the disguised Vincent van Ghoul keeping tabs on them at the concert.

After taking their seats, the Louds and Mystery Inc enjoyed the rest of the concert, and forgot for a moment, the ghost's revenge threat.
