Chapter 1: Breach

The lab was humming with quiet tension — the kind that settles over a room where the future is being written one equation at a time.

Bright monitors lit the darkened space in cool blues and greens. Cables ran like vines across the floor. In the center stood a machine that didn't belong in any textbook — a circular gateway of alloy and light, pulsing gently like a heartbeat.

Thomas paced in front of it, practically vibrating with excitement. "This is it, Matt. Dimensional breach test number twelve. This is the one."

Matt, standing at the control panel, didn't look up. "That's what you said about test number eleven. And ten. And the one that almost liquefied a coffee mug."

Thomas grinned. "Progress, my friend. Controlled chaos is still progress."

Matt sighed, brushing a streak of grey hair behind his ear. At thirty-seven, he was the more cautious of the two — focused, methodical, always thinking five steps ahead. Thomas, at twenty-seven, was the heart-on-fire type — impulsive, inspired, and, unfortunately, usually the one pressing buttons before fully reading the warning labels.

"Final check," Matt said. "Power cells at 98%. Dimensional coordinates stabilized… as much as they can be."

Thomas cracked his knuckles and walked to the activation console. "Time to open the door to the multiverse."

He hit the switch.

The machine roared to life.

The air in the room warped, rippling like heat waves. In the center of the ring, a swirling void began to form — stars, nebulae, and lightning twisting in chaotic harmony. It was beautiful. Terrifying. Impossible.

Then… the lights flickered.

A low alarm beeped once. Then again. Faster.

Matt's eyes shot to the readout. "No, no, no — the energy's spiking! It's drawing in mass! Shut it down!"

"I can't — the override's not responding!"

The machine screamed. Wind whipped through the lab as gravity turned sideways. Papers, chairs, equipment — everything was being pulled toward the gate.

Then it hit them.

A shockwave of raw cosmic energy slammed into their bodies — not hot, but deep, like their molecules were being rewritten. Pain tore through their nerves. They tried to scream, but there was no sound — only light, soundless and infinite.

And then, they were gone.

The Dimensional Stream

They were tumbling — not through space, but between it. Colors that didn't exist in the normal world danced around them. Their bodies glowed, cracked with energy. Their hearts felt like collapsing stars.

Somewhere inside the chaos, something ancient watched them. Judged them. Chose them.

And then—

Impact.

The New World

They crashed hard, face-first into damp earth. The air smelled rich and wild — like plants that hadn't been touched by human hands. Thomas groaned and rolled over, his body steaming faintly.

Matt was already pushing himself up. His fingers dug into the ground, but gravity around him bent ever so slightly, pulling pebbles toward his palm.

Thomas sat up, blinking. The sun here was huge, warm, and wrong — it bathed the trees in golden hues he'd never seen before. Giant ferns swayed nearby, and in the distance, a massive shadow passed through the treetops. Something alive.

"Matt…" Thomas whispered. "Where the hell are we?"

Before Matt could answer, the ground rumbled.

A large shape stepped into the clearing — a towering, gentle creature with a long neck and kind eyes.

A sauropod.

And next to her, a smaller version — big-eyed, curious, with a soft voice.

Littlefoot.

"Are you okay?" the young dinosaur asked.

Matt and Thomas stared, speechless.

Littlefoot's mother stepped forward, lowering her head gently. "You're not from this world, are you?"

Thomas blinked. "No… but I think we're stuck here."

Matt, still dazed, looked to the sky.

It wasn't their world anymore.

And they had no idea how to get home.
