Chapter 3: A New Drop
Far from the valley and the calm clearing where Matt, Thomas, and Littlefoot stood, the sky tore open once more — this time over a vast, ancient sea.
A ship rocked on the waves below, sails full of wind and laughter echoing across the deck. At the helm stood a small blue-nosed reindeer with a big smile on his face and a pirate hat tilted slightly over one antler.
Chopper.
"Full speed ahead!" he called out, holding onto the railing as the ship bounced over the waves. "Let's find that next island!"
His crew — a mix of pirates and misfits — cheered behind him.
But then…
The wind stopped.
A pulse rippled across the sky above them. Clouds twisted, darkened, and then — with a sound like a hundred thunderclaps all at once — a rift opened high above the ship.
Everyone froze.
"What… what is that?!" someone yelled.
Before Chopper could move, a beam of energy shot down from the rift and struck the ship's deck. The force threw him into the air like a ragdoll. His friends screamed his name as he was lifted up, swallowed by the light.
He barely had time to shout, "I don't wanna goooo—!" before everything went white.

The Mysterious Beyond
With a crash that shook the trees, Chopper landed hard, tumbling through underbrush and landing in a heap of leaves and dirt. He groaned, slowly sitting up.
"Owww…"
He blinked around. No ocean. No ship. Just towering trees, ferns, and—
Thud.
The earth shook.
Chopper looked up slowly… and locked eyes with a massive Sharptooth — a towering, snarling T-Rex with jaws longer than Chopper was tall.
The beast roared, drool flying from its jaws.
Chopper's eyes widened, and with a squeaky gasp, he bolted. "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!"
The Sharptooth roared again and charged after him, trees snapping underfoot.

Back near the clearing
Thomas and Matt were walking with Littlefoot and his mother when Matt suddenly raised a hand. "Wait. Something's coming."
Thomas squinted toward the trees. "What is that sound?"
Suddenly, the bushes exploded open and Chopper came sprinting out, eyes wild, flailing in panic. "HELP! HUGE TEETH! BIGGER THAN MY HAT!"
Before anyone could ask questions, the Sharptooth crashed into the clearing, snapping trees as it lunged forward with a thunderous roar.
Littlefoot stumbled back. "Sharptooth!"
Thomas stepped in front of the group, hands glowing. "Alright, time to see what this solar engine can really do."
Matt stood beside him, gravity pulsing around his fists. "I'll keep it grounded. Light it up."
Chopper dove behind a rock, peeking out with huge eyes. "What are they?!"
Matt stepped forward, calmly focused. He raised a hand, and the air around the Sharptooth's legs compressed, slamming its feet to the ground like it was suddenly twice as heavy.
Thomas charged in, fists flaring with solar energy. With a shout, he leapt and landed a glowing punch to the creature's jaw — BOOM! — the impact lighting up the clearing like a flash of sunlight.
The Sharptooth roared, staggered, then lunged again — swiping its tail violently.
Matt dropped low and reversed gravity beneath it, throwing off the beast's balance. "Thomas — finish it!"
Thomas's eyes burned gold. "Gladly."
He leapt again, this time channeling a full blast of solar energy into a flying uppercut — "Solar Rise!"
The punch connected with a flash of heat and force, sending the Sharptooth tumbling backward into the jungle with a final groan. It crashed through the trees, then vanished into the forest.
Silence.
Leaves drifted slowly to the ground.
Chopper peeked out again, trembling. "You guys… are awesome."
Matt raised an eyebrow. "And you are a talking reindeer."
Thomas grinned, wiping his brow. "We're collecting weird friends now, I guess."
Littlefoot trotted forward, eyes wide. "Are you from the sky too?"
Chopper nodded, slowly. "I think so… There was a rift. A ship. Then… boom."
Matt looked up at the sky, where the rift now shimmered wider than ever.
"More are coming," he said quietly.
Thomas nodded. "Yeah. But at least we've got one more on our side now."
Chopper smiled, nervously.
"Do I… get to stay with you guys?"
Thomas patted his fuzzy head. "You're not getting rid of us that easy."
The morning sun filtered through the treetops, casting golden rays onto dew-speckled leaves. Mist curled around the jungle floor as the group stirred awake, stretching limbs and shaking off dreams under the warming sky.
Matt was the first to rise, scanning the horizon instinctively. The rift above remained — quiet, for now — but its presence lingered like a shadow behind the clouds.
Thomas groaned as he sat up. "Okay… note to self: sleeping on roots is not a cosmic superpower."
Chopper popped up out of a makeshift nest of leaves, still bright-eyed despite his wild arrival the day before. "Morning!"
Littlefoot smiled as he walked over to Chopper. "Did you sleep okay?"
Chopper nodded. "Better than falling from the sky!"
As the group packed up and began their journey again, the jungle slowly began to open, the trees thinning into grassy hills. Littlefoot walked alongside Chopper, his long neck swaying gently with every step.
"The Great Valley's not like this," Littlefoot said, his voice soft and full of hope. "It's big and green and full of water and trees that never run out of leaves. It's safe. Peaceful."
Chopper's ears perked up. "It sounds amazing."
Littlefoot nodded. "My grandparents are waiting for us there. I got separated from them when the earth shook. Me and Mom… we've been looking for them ever since."
Chopper tilted his head. "So… we're all looking for someone."
Thomas, walking ahead, glanced back. "Guess that makes us a search party."
As the morning sun rose higher, the group came over a ridge — and paused.
Below, in a small clearing, was a herd of triceratops. Dozens of them. Some grazing, others resting, and near the center — a smaller, yellow-orange one with a bold stance and a skeptical expression.
Littlefoot gasped. "Cera!"
The young triceratops turned, blinking in surprise. "Littlefoot?"
She trotted up, pushing past the older members of her herd. "I thought you got stuck behind the mountains!"
"I did," Littlefoot said. "But I found a new path. And some new friends."
Cera looked past him — eyes narrowing as she saw Matt, Thomas, and Chopper.
"What are those?"
Chopper waved awkwardly. "Hi…"
Thomas raised a brow. "Nice to meet you too."
Littlefoot stepped between them. "It's okay! They're not dangerous. They helped me and Mom fight off a Sharptooth."
Cera snorted. "You sure? That one's small, but weird-looking." She eyed Chopper.
Chopper puffed his cheeks. "I'm a doctor!"
Matt stepped forward calmly. "We're not from here. But we're not your enemies."
Cera's father — a massive triceratops with a gruff expression — walked up beside her. "Hmph. If you protected Littlefoot, that's good enough for now. But we don't trust easily. This is a dangerous land."
Cera rolled her eyes but stepped back. "Fine. But don't slow us down."
Littlefoot smiled. "They won't."
Matt glanced at the sky — the rift pulsed faintly again.
No, he thought. We won't slow down.
We can't afford to.
