AusBela: Secret Audience

Austria's eyes were closed as his fingers flew over the keys. There were special venues for nations during long conference periods with special arrangements for them all. In Austria's case, there was a piano for him to use whenever he desired.

It was a bit lonely, playing alone, and he missed having an audience. Music was best when there was someone to listen to it. But he didn't know how he could ask anyone to come inside to listen to him play. It was awkward, and he wouldn't hear the end of it if Prussia caught wind of the request.

Belarus sat outside Austria's music room, her back pressed against the wall with her eyes closed as she listened to him play. She always enjoyed listening to Austria as he played, though it would be better if she could be in the room with him. But she didn't know how she could ask him to allow her to listen to him. She didn't want to scare him off, as she tended to do with so many people. She didn't want to do it to Austria.

The room grew quiet, and Belarus waited a few seconds before determining that Austria was finished. Whenever he changed songs, he would usually do it almost instantaneously. Whenever there was silence for more than five seconds, that usually meant that he was done for now.

She stood up and wiped the dust off her skirt before she walked away. She didn't think Austria would appreciate it if he saw that she was sitting outside the room, listening to him play.

When Austria stepped out of the room, he noticed something. There was something on the floor, and when he knelt down to investigate, he found it to be a ribbon. He looked around, seeing someone with long, blondish hair at the end of the corridor. It looked a bit like Belarus.

The ribbon must have come loose when she passed by. He should return it to her, but she was already a fair distance away, and he wasn't one to run in the halls. Or at all, if he had to be honest.

He would wait until the meeting the following day to give it to her. Still, he couldn't help but wonder why she was there in the first place.
