Mina's Trial (Part Ten)
At Captain Mina's house on Poni Island, the Eds, Sarah, Jimmy, and Maxiley walked inside, getting Captain Mina's attention.
"Welcome back; are you all doing okay?" asked Captain Mina.
"You bet." said Eddy.
"That's good; we captains love seeing trainers and their teams grow." said Captain Mina. "Trial-goers and those of us who watch over them, we all get to share that joy with our Pokemon." Sarah reaches into her pocket and pulls out her flower petals.
"We all got our flower petals." said Sarah, holding her flower petals to Captain Mina. She takes them and puts them in a small glass case, making the petals resemble a flower.
"Here you go; one Rainbow Flower." said Captain Mina.
"It's so pretty." said Jimmy.
"This should attract the Totem Pokemon." said Captain Mina. They hear the door to Captain Mina's house open; they turn to see a large Ribombee fly inside.
"A Ribombee." said Edd.
"Yes; this is the final Totem Pokemon of your final trial of your Island Challenge." said Captain Mina. Sarah turned toward Ribombee while pulling out a pokeball.
"Salazzle, go!" said Sarah, throwing her Salazzle's pokeball, and releasing her; an aura flares around the Totem Ribombee. "Salazzle, Nasty Plot!" Salazzle grins wickedly and her special attack strength increases. The Totem Ribombee lets out a yell and releases red soundwaves from its mouth that hits Salazzle but not dealing much damage to her.
"Salazzle, Flamethrower!" said Sarah. Salazzle releases a powerful stream of fire from her mouth, and it hits Ribombee, dealing super effective damage. Ribombee flies at Salazzle and kisses her, draining a little bit of her energy and healing some of the Totem Ribombee's wounds.
"Salazzle, use Smog!" said Sarah. Salazzle releases a thick gray smoke from her mouth, and it hits the Totem Ribombee, dealing super effective damage to it; it turned purple under its eyes.
"It's poisoned." said Edd. The Totem Ribombee releases a bright light from its body, and it hits Salazzle, but not doing much damage. The Totem Ribombee coughs from its poisoning and it falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Sarah won!" said Ed.
"Knew she would." said Maxiley. The Totem Ribombee floats off the ground and leaves Captain Mina's house. Captain Mina walks to Sarah.
"Congratulations; you passed my trial." said Captain Mina. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a pink Z-Crystal with an emblem of a fairy on it. "For passing my trial, I reward you with the Fairium-Z Crystal." She gives Sarah the Fairium-Z, along with pokedollars. "With that, any Pokemon that knows fairy type moves with do the move, Twinkle Tackle; let me show you all the poses needed to do it." She then shows everyone the poses needed to activate Fairium-Z. "Now then; who will challenge Ribombee next?"
"I will." said Jimmy.
"Do you have your petals?" asked Mina. Jimmy reaches into his pocket and pulls out the ones he acquired during his trial; Mina takes them and puts them in a glass case, making them form into a Rainbow Flower.
"Now we just have to wait for Ribombee to return." said Mina.
Five minutes later, Ribombee flies back into Mina's house and gets ready to battle Jimmy who takes a pokeball off his waist.
"Are you ready?" Mina asked Jimmy.
"I am." said Jimmy. Z-Energy erupts from Ribombee while Jimmy tosses his pokeball, releasing his Lycanroc. "Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" His Lycanroc suddenly moves at Ribombee with incredible speed while white streaks of energy flow around him and slams into the Totem Pokemon, dealing super effective damage; Ribombee floats at Lycanroc and kisses him on top of his head, draining some of his stamina, and heals the Totem Pokemon a bit.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc summons up large rocks and they fall and pile on Ribombee, dealing super effective damage, and lowers the Totem Pokemon's speed; the Ribombee releases a powerful flash of pink light that washes over Lycanroc, dealing damage to him.
"Better hurry and finish this, Jimmy!" said Eddy, making Jimmy look at him while nodding.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Slide!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc summons up larger rocks and drops them onto Ribombee, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Jimmy won!" said Ed.
"Never doubted him for a second." said Eddy.
"He was amazing." said Edd. Ribombee gets back up, nods at Jimmy, and floats out the door.
"You have defeated Ribombee." said Mina as she reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Fairium-Z Crystal. "This Z-Crystal is rightfully yours." She hands Jimmy the Fairium-Z, along with some pokedollars.
"Thank you." said Jimmy. Mina looks over at the Eds.
"So, who's battling next?" asked Mina.
"I will!" said Ed, stepping forward. He takes his flower petals and gives them to Mina. She puts them in a glass case, forming them into a Rainbow Flower. Five minutes later, the Totem Ribombee returned and surges with Z-Energy and is ready to battle; Ed showed he was ready as well as he pulls out a pokeball.
"Go, Decidueye!" said Ed, throwing his Decidueye's pokeball, and releasing him. "Decidueye, use Pluck!" Decidueye flies at the Totem Ribombee while his beak glowed white, and he jabs Ribombee with it, dealing super effective damage. The Totem Ribombee lets out a loud yell and releases red soundwaves from its mouth that hits Decidueye, damaging him, and weakening his special defense.
"Decidueye, Brave Bird!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at the Totem Ribombee while surrounded by an orange aura and he slams into the Totem Ribombee, dealing super effective damage and knocks it out; Decidueye flinches in pain from the recoil damage done by Brave Bird.
"Ed did it!" said Maxiley.
"Can't say I'm surprised." said Edd. The Totem Ribombee gets up and gives a nod before exiting Mina house. Mina walks over to Ed.
"You've trained your Decidueye well, Ed." said Mina.
"Thanks." said Ed. Mina reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Fairium-Z Crystal.
"You have proven yourself worthy of the Fairium-Z." said Mina as she gives Ed the Fairium-Z, along with pokedollars. She turned towards the group. "Which of you will be challenging Ribombee next?"
"I shall." said Edd who has already been going over what he learned from his friends' other battles and planned his strategy.
"Do you have your petals?" asked Mina.
"Yes, I do." said Edd as he hands Mina the petals he got from the Trial Captains; Mina puts them in a glass case, forming a Rainbow Flower.
Five minutes later, the Totem Ribombee returns and is surging with Z-Energy as it gets ready for its battle with Edd who takes a pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his Magnezone.
"Magnezone, please use Magnet Bomb!" said Edd. His Magnezone's body becomes surrounded by blue electricity before blue balls of it come out of its magnets, hitting the Ribombee, dealing super effective damage; the Ribombee then flaps its wings, releasing a blast of wind that had specks of silver in it, hitting Magnezone.
"That was Silver Wind." said Jimmy. A surge of power rises up from Ribombee.
"It seems that Ribombee's stats have increased." said Edd. "But that won't stop us; Magnezone, please use Flash Cannon!" His Magnezone forms a ball of white energy that was coated with blue energy and fires a beam from it at Ribombee, hitting the Totem Pokemon, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"That was fast!" said Sarah.
"Well, Magnezone did have the advantage, both in offense and defense." said Maxiley. The Ribombee soon gets back up, gives Edd a nod of approval, and exits the house to heal.
"You have defeated the Totem Pokemon." said Mina before she reaches into her pocket and pulls a Fairium-Z Crystal from it. "You have earned this Z-Crystal." She hands the Fairium-Z Crystal, along with some pokedollars, to Edd.
"Thank you." said Edd.
"Looks like I'm up now." said Eddy.
"Do you have your petals?" asked Mina.
"You know it." said Eddy as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the petals he got during Mina's trial; she takes them and puts them in another glass case, forming another Rainbow Flower.
The Totem Pokemon returns and surges with Z-Energy again, preparing itself for another battle.
"Incineroar, let's go, pal!" said Eddy. He takes his starter Pokemon's pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his Incineroar.
"Eddy's first Alola Pokemon." said Edd as he remembers the day he and his friends came to Alola and got their starters.
"Incineroar, use Fire Fang!" said Eddy. His Incineroar's fangs become coated with fire before he bites down on the Ribombee, dealing super effective damage; parts of Ribombee's body become coated in fire.
"Ribombee's burned." said Sarah. The Ribombee flies at Incineroar and kisses him on the cheek, draining some of his stamina that's used to heal the Totem Pokemon; Ribombee takes damage from its burn.
"Time to end this." said Eddy. "Incineroar, use Flamethrower!" A powerful stream of fire comes out from Incineroar's belt and hits Ribombee, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Eddy won!" said Ed.
"Way to go!" said Jimmy. The Ribombee gets up, nods at Eddy, and exits the house.
"You have defeated the Totem Pokemon." said Mina before she reaches into her pocket and pulls a Fairium-Z Crystal from it. "You have earned this Z-Crystal." She hands the Fairium-Z Crystal, along with some pokedollars, to Eddy.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. As everyone congratulates Eddy, they look around Mina's house at all the damage their battles did.
"Perhaps we should help clean this place up." said Edd.
"We might as well." said Sarah.
The group has defeated the Totem Pokemon and have earned new Z-Crystals. What will happen next as their Alola adventure continues?
Meanwhile, on Poni Island, Eddy's brother washed up onto the shore of a beach; yep, he fell off a Ride Mantine again. After he gets up and looks around, he sees a woman with short, light brown hair, wearing a white, one-piece swimsuit, laying on a beach chair, reading a book. Grinning, he walks to the woman and takes the book from her.
"Excuse me; I was reading that!" exclaimed the woman.
"Why read a book when you can check me out?" asked Eddy's brother, flexing his arms.
"I happen to be with my boyfriend." replied the woman.
"I'll bet he has nothing on me." said Eddy's brother. He looks down to see a big shadow coming from behind him. "Whoa, that's a big shadow; is your boyfriend behind me?" The woman nods in response. "Is he bigger than me?" The woman nods again. "Is he smiling?" The woman shakes her head. Gulping, Eddy's brother turned around to see a tall, muscular, tan-skinned man with black dreadlocks, wearing white swim trunks, holding two pineapple cups, glaring at him.
Seconds later, the woman's boyfriend gives her one of the pineapple cups and her book.
"Thanks, Etana." said the woman as she takes her book and the pineapple cup.
"Anytime, Alika." replied the boyfriend, now known as Etana. Eddy's brother was lying face up on the beach with a battered face. (a/n: Will Eddy's brother ever learn? We sincerely doubt it.)
