Author's Notes: So just a heads up, there is no available Fandom for the Anime, The Rolling Girls on FanFiction so I had to settle for Anime X-Overs as there are some Archetypes from different eras of Yu-Gi-Oh. So I hope you guys will enjoy this as much as I had making the first of twenty-plus Chapters so far.
Chapter One: Dueling to New Domino City, Part One
The laws of the lands of a divided Japan have been set, Dueling and Duel Monsters has been illegal, and the ten different countries - such as Kyoto and Tokorozawa - now make up the entire landmass. There is also a war between different factions within these city-states. A large group of Vigilantes fought against the disputers known as Best and Turbo Duelist Society; they all fought for the peace for all ten city-states and the rights for all Duelists. But these disputers often have more power against these vigilantes and can send waves of law enforcement against them, forcing the Turbo Duelist Society to go into hiding. But they lived on years later with those willing to help them, building the invention that stole many people's hearts - Duel Runners, many types of motorcycles that were fast - faster than a normal motorcycle, and were fitted out with the ability to duel on wheels.
With Turbo Dueling came new rules to it. A Field Spell known as the Speed World field spell was automatically activated when two Players begin their Turbo Duel. At the start of the second Standby Phase, the duelist can gain what is known as a Speed Counter which can help activate what is known as Speed Spells. There are card effects that allow the players to gain two, maybe three Speed Counters, however, these effects can be negated as well.
However, while many places have made Duel Monsters illegal, some of the many cities across the land felt sympathetic to the Society, making them some safe haven and bastions of light for Duel Monsters. One of these cities is the famous New Domino City, born from the ashes of the original Domino City. But just near New Domino City were the remnants of the original Domino City, destroyed from a gigantic blast known as the Zero Reverse, leaving it a great and devastated, rundown ruin; a shell of what Domino City used to be.
Though, the journey to New Domino City is the goal of our Heroine from the city-state of Tokorozawa, the young Nozomi Moritomo. She had a dream to be a professional Turbo Duelist, and sought play in the up and coming Fortune Cup. Though, she feared that she may not have the strength to beat the best of best at New Domino, Jack Atlas. The young lady had the skills to play Duel Monsters and has the strength of her Speedroid and Symphonic Warrior Deck, but her real ace in her Deck was the Legendary Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, the very first Synchro Monster. But she had it taken away from her by her father, believing that this Synchro Monster that her late grandfather gave her before his passing was far too dangerous for his precious little girl. With that said she was persistent and fought to show that her Deck is still strong even if she didn't have Clear Wing anymore, but all the same she wondered why her father saw Clear Wing as dangerous.
So the day before she planned to set out to New Domino City with her three new friends Chiaya Misono, Ai Hibiki, and Yukina Kosaka, she decided to break into her father's room to take back Clear Wing. Comedically dressed in a ninja outfit, she quietly opened the window to her parents bedroom as they slept, taking her first steps into the room as quietly as she could, but she noticed that her dad had left papers all over the floor. So one wrong kind of step and she could wake up her parents. And not a wrong step was made when she made it to the medium dresser, and she began to look around in each of the drawers, digging through the clothes, but could not find her ace monster.
"I had a feeling that you would try to get back, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon." Said a familiar voice to her. She turned to see her father standing in front of her, awake and aware of what she was doing, holding her Clear Wing in his hand. Her mother was also awake and sitting up on their bed.
"Give me Clear Wing, dad, I am going to need him!" She said to him as she jumped towards him only to have him move out of the way, causing her to fall onto his bed next to her mother. She turned to look at her father who also turned to look at her.
"Clear Wing is far too dangerous in your hands! Why can't you get that through that head of yours!" He argued with his daughter.
"Then why don't you tell me why it is that dangerous! You have been keeping it silent about it since you took it away from me!"
"It was because you were not old enough to know about it!" He roared out trying to keep it away from his daughter however he could.
"Honey, she has a right to know now." His wife, and Nozomi's mother said to him.
He looked at both his daughter, and then her ace monster, then back at her, thinking if he should explain why he couldn't give Clear Wing back to her, long and hard. He really wasn't sure if he should tell her the reason. But then, he remembered the promise that he made to Hinayo's father all those years ago, a promise that he feared may come for his daughter. So he made a long sigh before looking back at his daughter.
"Perhaps it is time that you learned why…" He began to say to his daughter. "... About why I fear for you and your friend's sake." He began to take a seat, knowing that this may be a long story.
"Just a half a month before you were born, your mother and I lived in what is now the Satellite today with your mother's father, Daieiji Atsushiro, your late Grandfather. He, among the late Doctor Fudo, Rex and Roman Goodwin, were working on Ener-D during the discovery of Planetary Particles, something happened, however, and your Grandfather only managed to get us out of the city just as it was, the Zero Reverse Explosion destroyed the city." He had a look on his face that showed his heart was heavy, like they felt responsible for what happened to the Satellite. "But not before he gave us the Clear Wing Synchro Dragon saying that it was one of the six Dragons of the Crimson Dragon. Though, after witnessing the power of both of a giant Crimson Dragon alongside Crystal Wing within a vision when I inspected it after one of your duels, I feared for your wellbeing, greatly."
To Nozomi, a clear image of that giant Crimson Dragon that was much larger than her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon appeared behind it with an ominous roar that can never leave her mind. But… She felt a kind of kinship with this Crimson Dragon. She could tell that it was trying to tell her something as she could clearly see it flying towards the Satellite and New Domino City.
"You see why I am keeping this away from you, to protect you from whatever this Dragon wants from you-"
"YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME CLEAR WING SYNCHRO DRAGON, NOW!" She blurted out to him in a loud voice. "The two dragons want me to head to New Domino City, what is in New Domino City that they want me to find, I don't know, but I know that they want to help me in this journey."
Her father really wanted to believe that, he really did… But he really didn't trust the card that he was holding in his hand.
But soon, the Clear Wing Synchro Dragon card began to glow pure kelly green, but then turned into a malachite green, which made her father jump, letting the card go. He really had no idea why the card was doing this. But Nozomi could know the reason as she could hear the roar of her Clear Wing as if it was calling out to her. So her body began faster than her mind could comprehend and grabbed Clear Wing, not before she felt a pulse-like feeling surging throughout her body the moment her hand touched the card. And when the pulse-like feeling subsided, she looked down at her right arm and saw a mark that showed the image of flames being spewed out by something. This shocked her and her parents, but her shock immediately died down as she looked back at her Clear Wing.
"I'm sorry, dad, but I need Clear Wing to guide me on this path that the Crimson Dragon has set for us." She said as she jumped out of the room and into the garage where she was keeping her Duel Runner - a heavily modified Kawasaki H1 Mach III with a builtin sidecar that could attach and detach at will with the press of a button if she wanted to partake in a tag team Turbo Duel or not. But this was a specialized duel runner as it had an appearance of her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with its colors, pearl white, ebony black strips, and four malachite green wings. The sidecar had the same white and black color scheme as the main duel runner, but had that malachite green all over the seat. On the left side of the duel runner was what looked like an arm rest, but was a duel disk that was based off the design from Duel Academy, but it was painted with that beautiful green color along with the old pale blue surrounding the monster zones.
She started the duel runner's powerful engine, making it let out a mighty roar. She then punched it towards the southern border of Tokorozawa where she was planning to meet up with her friends.
Yukina was a Turbo Duelist as well armed with a pure Darklord Deck. Ai was Nozomi's tag turbo duel partner with a mainly pure Dragunity Deck. And their latest friend Chiaya was new to the world of Duel Monsters, but managed to muster up a Ice Barrier Deck with a bit of generic Water cards for support.
And it wasn't long before she saw friends sitting at a bench along the road lane heading towards the Satellite and New Domino City. They were taking in the scene of a beautiful and exotic seaside on a summer morning as the sun began to rise from the east.
"Hey guys!" She greeted them, lifting her goggles from her eyes onto her helmet as they turned to see her.
"You took a while, Nozomi…" Ai sneered with a smile on her face.
"A lot of stuff happened in a very short space of time." She replied as she showed them the weird mark on her right arm, pulling the right sleeve of her sweat coat up to show them the mark.
"Woah~" Yukina exclaimed with wide eyes as the three of them looked closely at the mark. "Where did you get that tattoo, Nozomi?"
"This is no tattoo, for some reason I could hear my Clear Wing Synchro calling out to me while it glowed a metallic malachite green in my dad's hand, when he dropped it, I caught it and I began to gain this mark on my arm." She tried to explain this to her friends as best as she could. "But before this whole thing happened, I had a vision of Clear Wing and a giant Crimson Dragon, and the Crimson Dragon was flying straight to New Domino City as if it was telling me that I was meant to be at New Domino. I know that this sounds crazy, but I swear that all of this happened to me in just those five minutes."
Her three friends were left speechless by this explanation, but then again, Yukina had heard rumors that some people had the ability to see, and communicate with Duel Monster Spirits and not many others around them could see them nor communicate with them. Some suspected that it was due to the bond with their cards, or as the late great Yugi Muto would call it - the Heart of the Cards. Although, she never would have guessed that her friend Nozomi had this ability, and she just found that out this morning.
"Well, I did hear rumors from others traveling through the state that some duelists from around the world have the ability to not only see the spirits of Duel Monsters, but are able to talk to them. Though, I never believed that those rumors were true, until now." She said to them as she then turned to look at Nozomi again. "Then it is a possibility that your mark is probably your connection to Duel Monster Spirits."
Nozomi looked down at her mark yet again before looking at her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. She swears she could still hear it roaring out to her. It was almost like a ghost trying to tell her something that she couldn't really understand at the moment. But then she looked back at her friends remembering their mission at hand.
"I think we have talked long enough, we have to get to New Domino City before the Fortune Cup starts."
"Alright!" Ai exclaimed, jumping into the sidecar with the greatest of enthusiasm, and putting her helmet with a faceplate as a cover on. "New Domino City and Fortune Cup, here we come!"
Yukina got onto her ocean blue, modified Honda CB Series Duel Runner with the black wings and red crown of a fallen angel on the back and front of her duel runner respectively, and the disk placed into two halves on either side of the fuel tank, she then placed her blue helmet upon her head. Chiaya followed suit on her basic Vespa 180 Super Sport, but was able to catch up with the two duel runners with her duel disk nestled neatly within her backpack along with her deck.
They started their engines and began drifting around with their tires creating marks on the asphalt road and headed northeast, just a few kilometers from the old capital of Tokyo. But they had to be careful as they were outside of the confines of Tokorozawa and anyone could try and jump them - state police, random turbo duelists, or the almost undefeated and defected member of the Best, Kuniko Shigyou. Kuniko herself has learned Duel Monsters and had built a personal duel runner that was made to catch up with members of the Best and their supporters the Rest. Decked out in armor that looked almost like gladiator armor, which alluded to the Deck that she played, Gladiator Beasts. She often swarms her field with her before summoning her Gladiator Beast Fusions and going in for the kill.
And as if by magic, she could see an ominous dust trail coming straight towards the four friends. Nozomi looked in one of her mirrors and she could see the large dust cloud was gaining on them quickly with the distinct form of a silhouette appearing out of the dust, that is, until her heart sank when she found who it was. It was indeed Kuniko heading their way, dressed in her old biker outfit and blue goggles covering her eyes in an evil snicker, her mouth showing a big, toothy grin.
"Guys, we got company, and it is not good company!" Nozomi hollered to her friends as they looked back to see Kuniko just a foot away from them.
"I am not allowing you two Rest members to get away from me." Said the adult brunette as she enacted her duel override that she gained it from her time in New Domino City on the young brunettes. "If you four want to get to New Domino City, then you are going to defeat me in a duel first."
Nozomi knew that there was no way to shake this override off, so there was only one thing to do…
"Alright Kuniko, if you want to duel us so badly, then let's duel!" She said as she activated her duel runner and set it up for a turbo duel. Her deck was shuffled as she looked back at her opponent, and the Speed World Field Spell was activated.
Kuniko: 4000
Nozomi: 4000
"I'll start this off, and from my hand, I play Gladiator Beast's Respite…" Declared the adult brunette as she played her first few spell cards. "... By shuffling two of my Gladiator Beast cards, I can draw three cards from my deck! Next I play Fusion Deployment - this allows me to Special Summon a Gladiator Beast from my hand or deck so long it is listed Fusion Material on a Fusion Monster. So I Special Summon Gladiator Beast Vespasius from my Deck."
The seas started getting rough just as her Vespasius - a humanoid crocodile in armor - appeared from those rough seas with his sword in hand and joined on its master's side of the field.
"Next I play Foolish Burial, which sends a monster from my deck to the Graveyard, and I choose Gladiator Beast Octavius. Next, I Normal Summon Gladiator Beast Laquari…"
A fire began to appear before it became a ring just as Laquari appeared in the form of a humanoid tiger with blood red armor.
"And since I have a Gladiator Beast on my field, I can Special Summon Test Tiger from my hand." She continued as the cute little tiger appeared. "Next I activate his effect - by tributing him, I can shuffle Laquari back into the deck, and then Special Summon yet another Gladiator Beast from my deck if it was Special Summoned by the effect of a Gladiator Beast, and I choose Gladiator Beast Augustus."
The tiger turned into a ball of energy before it went into Laquari, transforming him from fire into darkness that took the form of a humanoid, dragonoid beast, clad in dark purple armor - Augustus.
"And since he was summoned by the effect of a Gladiator Beast, I can Special Summon another Gladiator Beast from my hand, and I summon Gladiator Beast Darius from my hand."
Augustus then slammed his staff down to the ground which opened a portal allowing a dark, humanoid horse as well in armor to appear to her field.
"Next I activate the effect of Darius, allowing me to Special Summon Octavius from my Graveyard, but it effects are negated, and it is shuffled into the Deck at the End Phase, then I play the spell - Unexpected Dai, which allows me to Special Summon a Normal Monster from my deck, and I choose Gladiator Beast Andal."
The last card in her hand then appeared, turning a rectangular light allowing an armored North American Black Bear to appear with a roar just as a portal from the Graveyard opened to bring forth the bald eagle clad in emerald armor just as he called out with a mighty squall.
"But these four will not be here for long as I enact double Contact Fusion. I shuffle both Vespasius and Octavius to Fusion Summon Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor!" She declared as the crocodile and bald eagle began to glow before a beam of light engulfed the two, and then a big Gladiator Beast appeared with a large staff in his hand. "Once a turn, I can Special Summon a Gladiator Beast Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck ignoring its conditions of summoning, and I summon Gladiator Beast Domitianus!"
Editor's staff then grew a long green rope of energy just as he raised it up in the air, then slammed the energy whip down with a loud crack, forcing a portal to open allowing a heavily armed and armored version of Vespasius to appear to the field.
"Then I shuffled Augustus, Darius, and Andal to Fusion Summon yet another Gladiator Beast… Gladiator Beast Andabatae!"
Her other three Gladiator Beasts - the dragonoid beast, the humanoid horse, and the black bear - then did the same as Vespasius and Octavian, allowing a lean, green, and armored reptile-like beast to appear in their place.
"And finally, he allows me to summon another Gladiator Beast Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck, but it has to be Level Seven or Lower. So I choose Level Seven Gladiator Beast Gaiodiaz!" She concluded as Andabatae slashed the air in front of him, and a giant, dark, and armored Tyrannosaurus Rex jumped out of the portal with a T-Rex's famous roar. "And with that I end my turn."
Nozomi was shocked and amazed by what she just witnessed. "Four Gladiator Beasts in a single turn?" She exclaimed with wide eyes.
"That's right, now let's see if you can get past these four monsters."
"Alright, my turn!" The young brunette said, drawing a card, adding to the other five cards in her hand which was Symphonic Warriors Guitaar, Miccs, the Spell Card Monster Reborn, and Speedroids Red-Eyed Dice and Terrortop. "I play Graceful Charity which allows me to draw three cards, but I have to discard two." She then drew Speedroids CarTurbo, Tri-Eyed Dice, and Taketomborg so she sent Miccs and Red-Eyed Dice.
"And since I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Speedroid Terrortop from my hand. And if it was summoned, I can add another Speedroid from my hand, and I choose good old Taketomborg. Next I Normal Summon Symphonic Warrior Guitaar from my hand. And since he was Normal Summoned; I can Special Summon a Symphonic Warrior from my Graveyard and it is Miccs." Her three monsters then appeared on the field one after another. "And since I control a WIND Monster, I can Special Summon Speedroids Taketomborg and CarTurbo from my hand."
She then brought forth the next two Speedroids on her field.
"Next I activate Taketomborg's effect to release himself, allowing me to summon a Speedroid from my deck, and I pick Speedroid Fuki-Modoshi Piper." Taketomborg shattered into shards before being replaced by a pinocchio-like figure with green hair and a pair of leaves behind her. "I then tune both Level Three Symphonic Warrior Guitaar and Speedroid CarTurbo."
The two monsters went up into the air with CarTurbo turning into a trio of green rings, making Guitaar invisible before turning into three balls of light.
"I Synchro Summon, Level Six Hi-Speedroid Kendama!" She declared as the light that the two monsters created into an indigo machine with a spear-like section. "Next I tune both Level Three Terrortop with Level Four Fuki-Modoshi Piper! Behold as the Earth, the Water, and the Wind combine to bring forth a crystalline force! I Synchro Summon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
The light then faded, revealing the white, black, and green Dragon letting out a roar. This caused Nozomi's mark to glow ruby red as she turned to look at Kuniko. And Kuniko did notice the glow coming from her arm and wondered what that was.
"Next I activate Miccs effect, and since he was Special Summoned - I am allowed to Normal Summon an additional monster, and I Normal Summon Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice. And I'll now tune both Level Five Symphonic Warrior Miccs with Level Three Tri-Eyed Dice." And once the pyramidal machine with an eye on each side of the pyramid shape appeared, it turned into three rings with the humanoid microphone going through the three rings before turning into five balls of light, and then turning into a flash of light. "I Synchro Summon Level Eight Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake!"
The light then disappeared to reveal a mechanical Dragon that was almost similar to her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon letting out a very robotic roar.
"Now Kitedrake has a few handy effects, and the one I'll be choosing is to destroy all of your monsters!" She said pointing straight at Kuniko's monsters as Kitedrake began to shine so brightly that it could be compared to a jewel shining in the sun.
"I don't think so… I activate Gladiator Beast Domitianus' effect!" Kuniko cut in as her Domitianus began to charge towards Kitedrake with great speed just as it was charging towards Andabatae, and Nozomi was shocked to see him actually blocking the drake from destroying all the Gladiator Beasts with its sword. "If you activate a monster effect - in which case, the effect of your Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake - I can negate that effect, and destroy that monster!"
Domitianus - after thirty seconds of holding off the mechanical dragon - mustered all the strength he had and pushed Kitedrake back before using that same strength to swing his mighty sword down and across the Hi-Speedroid, causing it to explode into many, many pieces. The young brunette felt the shock of the blast for real, and she wasn't expecting Domitianus being able to negate effects as well as destroying the monster in question. This put a damper on her original plan, as she hoped to end the duel quickly by destroying all the Gladiator Beasts with her Kitedrake, clearing the way for both Clear Wing and Kendama to go in for direct attacks. But now, she had to think of a new plan.
"If Kitedrake is destroyed by battle or your card effects, I can add a Speedroid from my deck to my hand." She said as she pulled out Speedroid Double Yoyo from her Deck. However, she noticed that Andabatae was still in attack mode and wondered why she left him that way, unless… 'She's trying to bait me into attacking Andabatae!'
Nozomi… Nozomi, I know you can hear me! Called an unfamiliar male voice out to her and she began to look around her with Ai looking confused at what she was doing, that is, until the young brunette looked straight at her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
"Clear Wing?" She exclaimed feeling speechless at what she was hearing right now. "Are you really talking to me?"
Yes Nozomi… Clear Wing said to her as he turned his head to look back at her with his gold eyes looking straight at her own. … You must attack with me first. She is going to use the effect of Domitianus to change my attack target, however, my effect can counter that while I can get stronger in the process. In fact, there is another that wants to help in this plan.
Before Nozomi knew it, an astral form of Speedroid CarTurbo appeared beside her as if it was trying to say something to her. She then began seeing the strategy that Clear Wing had suggested to her in a tunnel of darkness that led straight towards a realm of light that signified realization. She knew what she had to do as she came back to reality. But to Ai, sitting in the sidecar, she couldn't make heads or tails of this, like her friend was in a whole different world at the moment, that is, until she saw that Nozomi came back to reality.
"Clear Wing, attack Gladiator Beast Andabatae!" She declared, pointing her index finger towards the reptile-like Gladiator Beast.
"I activate Domitianus' effect, you now have to attack Domitianus now!" Kuniko said with another toothy grin on her face. "It is over, young lady, you will hand over your deck to the legal authorities and I will make a dent in the support for the Rest!"
"Well I'll chain my Clear Wing's effect with yours!" Nozomi cut in as Clear Wing's green wings began to shine a very bright kelly green before letting out a bright light straight towards Gladiator Beast Domitianus. "If a Level Five or higher monster activates its effect, he can negate the activation, and then destroy it!"
Domitianus began to be engulfed by the light, feeling the power of the synchro monster, and it exploded into a cloud of smoke as it roared out in pain. Kuniko was shocked that not only due to the fact she was able to destroy Domitianus, but also the fact that she forgot about Clear Wing's effect. She also felt the explosion as well, which was something she wasn't expecting to feel at all.
"And if he was successful in destroying the monster, he gains the attack points of the monster that he just destroyed, aka a whopping thirty-five hundred attack points!"
Clear Wing began to form a bright malachite green aura around him, his attack power increasing as he roared out in success.
"Six thousand attack points!" The brunette adult yelled out in horror.
"That's right, but that's not all! By removing the Speedroid CarTurbo from my Graveyard, Clear Wing gains an additional eight hundred attack points, making his attack points now at sixty-eight hundred. And Clear Wing's attack upon Andabatae continues unimpeded! Now go, Clear Wing! Spinstorm Sky Strike!"
Clear Wing then charged towards Andabatae with a powerful gust of spiraling, malachite green, wind-like energy engulfing him as he managed to hit the Gladiator Beast straight in the chest. The impact caused a large gaping hole in its chest, Clear Wing flew up into the air just as Andabatae exploded into dust.
Kuniko: 4000 - 6800 = 0
Nozomi: Winner!
The great power from the explosion itself caused Kuniko and her duel runner to go out of control until she was sent careening straight into a fenced off edge, wailing as she from the pain and realization that she crashed through the fence, and was going to fall into the sea. Nozomi, Ai, Yunkina, and Chiaya watched all of this go down and were horrified at what they saw. They ran to the fenced off edge and saw the large splash created by Kuniko and her duel runner so they ran down to the shore where Nozomi took off her coat and jumped into the water to look for Kuniko, and after several feet of diving, she could see the wreck of Kuniko's duel runner and the brunette's helmet and goggles. But she couldn't see Kuniko herself so she grabbed the helmet and goggles and began to gradually swim back up to the surface.
"Nozomi! Did you find her?" Yukina called out to her when she surfaced, and she began swimming back to shore.
"No… I didn't, all I found was these as well as the wreckage." She replied, getting out of the water as she showed them what she found.
"Her helmet… And her goggles?" Chiaya inquired.
She nodded as she felt a form of regret in her heart, like she felt responsible for Kuniko's instant disappearance, and she feared that maybe she drowned in that impact. But both Ai and Yukina tried to comfort her. They didn't want to see their friend to feel responsible for Kuniko's possible death as they knew she had no control over it.
"Come on, Nozomi, this wasn't entirely your fault." The blue haired girl told her, placing a hand on her back.
"Yeah, this was Kuniko's fault for starting the whole thing." Ai joined in trying to help her friend back up. She was trying to give her a bit of a pep talk to see if it could make her feel just a little better, if possible. "Besides, if she just let us go, then maybe things could have turned out a whole lot different."
Nozomi just looked up at the astral form of Clear Wing Synchro Dragon looking at her with a look of apology. Yukina, Ai, and Chiaya looked up to where she was looking, and they just could not see what she was seeing, as they looked back at her to see a slightly angry look on her face as if she was upset at something.
I am sorry, Nozomi… Clear Wing said to her sadly, knowing that she is more than likely blaming him for what she did to Nozomi. He had his two limbs crossed as he then turned to look at the open ocean. … Though do understand that it wasn't the intention to have this Kuniko sent into the sea. But if the sea knows what it's doing, she will more than likely be carried all the way to shores of the New Domino City that you keep talking about, and wash up there. Perhaps you can find her somewhere around there.
Then her Speedroid Den-Den Daiko Duke appeared behind her and jumped on to her head with a chuckle, causing her to force her head down as if it was cartoonishly flattened like a pancake until it joined Clear Wing's side. Come on Nozomi, you should know that since you've grown up with good old Clear Wing here~ He said to her with a cheerful tone as he reminded her of how she had fun with Clear Wing and her Speedroids. Come on, I'm sure you remember, the night that you joined us in the spirit world, right?
Nozomi was confused by this only for forty seconds before she began to remember the night when she was at least eight years old, sleeping soundly in her bed when she suddenly found herself in a grassy meadow with a shiny city not too far behind her. She had no idea how she got there until she saw what looked to her at the time, her Speedroid Horse Stilts being ridden by Ohajikid and chased by Double Yoyo ridden by Den-Den Daiko Duke like they were having the time of their lives. She remembered waving at them only to see their excitement turned to curiosity as if they weren't expecting a Human like her to be here of all places. But welcomed her and took her to what they called Megaroid City - home of the Roids, and their guardians Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. She began to remember feeling the wind in her hair as she had so much fun with the Speedroids.
She then met Clear Wing Synchro Dragon standing defiantly upon the highest tower of Megaroid City's Speedroid District looking out to the edge of what seemed to be a barrier setup to keep something out. She remembered how his tail would swerve around like he was waiting for something to break through that barrier at any given time. Though Fuki-Modoshi Piper told her to not bother him as she and a few other Roids found him to be a stick in the mud at times, the eight year old Nozomi didn't see that though, and she suspected that he was very lonely and he just wanted a friend.
So she climbed up the tower and began to say hello to him, but no response. So she tried to get his attention until he finally turned to look at her, asking what a Human like her had got here in the first place, though he wasn't really nice about it. She explained she just found herself here while she was asleep, but she added that she didn't care anymore as she did make some new friends here. She asked him what he was looking at, and there was a grim reply that she could never forget. But he said that the darkness was drawing ever closer towards the place that they call home. He was just waiting for it to finally breach their city's barrier.
Nozomi tried to explain to him that there is no point in waiting for it to come all your life. She requested that he'd come down and have some fun with some of the Speedroids with her. But Clear Wing refused, but the little Nozomi wasn't gonna take no for an answer, the only thing that she could think of doing was to grab onto his snake-like tail, and try to pull him down to the road. She tugged and tugged as hard as she could, but he wasn't budging, she just wasn't that strong enough. Clear Wing could only chuckle at her determination and decided to playfully swing his tail around while she was still holding it, but that plan backfired, and Nozomi lost her grip, causing her to fall down onto the road instead. This shocked Clear Wing and began to fly after her, and he was just fast enough to catch her.
Nozomi was amazed by this, not only the fact that Clear Wing managed to save her, but the fact that she was flying high in the sky on the back of a Dragon with the gust of wind blowing across her hair. This was exhilarating to her and she also got a great view of Megaroid City. The two began to laugh together.
Now you remember, Nozomi… The pearl white, ebony black striped Dragon said to her as Nozomi finally realized that she had this ability since she was born. … You were blessed with this ability since you were born, though if this has been passed down through your family, I know not.
Nozomi now realized Clear Wing's intentions, and began to see his words as the truth. She then stood up and looked out to the horizon. She knew that the New Domino City Fortune Cup wasn't her only mission now, she had to find Kuniko, and bring her home to Tokorozawa. She climbed back onto her Duel Runner and turned to her friends, and said to them…
"Come on you guys, we can find Kuniko once we make it to New Domino City." She told them as she placed her helmet and goggles as they were speechless at what they were seeing.
"Wait, are your cards really talking to you?" Yukina exclaimed in shock as the three of them joined up with their friend, Nozomi nodding in response, leaving the blue-haired girl at a loss for words. But decided to take her friend's word for it and hopped onto her own duel runner - as did the others did so as well - and they began to drive towards the New Domino City, and maybe, to destiny.
Fortunately for Clear Wing, he wasn't wrong about mother nature being able to save the defeated Kuniko, her ocean tides were able to carry the unconscious woman all the way to the calm shores of New Domino City, or rather… The erie shores of the rundown Satellite. She was waterlogged and unconscious when a trio of shadowy figures walked towards her, looking down at her like these three had some very special plans for Kuniko. So the one with yellow markings on his outfit picked her up and began carrying her back to where they were hiding.
End of Chapter One.
