The sun rises over Spoonerville, casting warm golden light into Max's bedroom. Inside, 10-year-old Max Goof snores peacefully, wrapped up in his blanket, one bare foot sticking out from the covers.
Enter Goofy, his ever-enthusiastic dad, dressed in his usual orange turtleneck and blue pants, holding a breakfast tray with pancakes shaped like Mickey Mouse.
Goofy: "Wakey-wakey, Maxie! Time fer a Goofy good mornin'!"
Max doesn't stir. Goofy scratches his head, then notices Max's foot sticking out. His eyes twinkle mischievously.
Goofy: "Well, if breakfast don't wake ya, maybe a lil' Goofy magic will!"
He gently takes Max's bare left foot and starts wiggling his toes, playfully reciting:
Goofy: "This little Goof went to market…
This little Goof stayed home…
This little Goof had waffles…
This little Goof had none…
And THIS little Goof went, 'GAWRSH! GAWRSH! GAWRSH!' all the way home!"
With each line, Goofy tickles Max's toes, finishing with a flurry of tickles on the sole.
Max erupts into giggles, kicking and squirming.
Max: "Daaaad! Nohoho! Stop!"
He finally jolts awake, laughing and gasping for breath. He grabs his pillow and playfully swats Goofy with it.
Max: "Not cool, Dad! I was sleepin'!"
Goofy grins sheepishly. "Well, ya can't sleep forever, Maxie! Time fer a big day!"
Max groans but perks up when he remembers…
Max: "Oh yeah! I'm hangin' out with Roxanne today!
Afternoon – Max & Roxanne's Day TogetherMax meets up with Roxanne, the red-haired, freckled girl he's been crushing on forever. At 11 years old, she's a little taller than him, confident, and completely unaware of how nervous Max gets around her.
They spend the afternoon at the Spoonerville Fair, playing carnival games, eating cotton candy, and laughing together. Max is determined to impress her—which, of course, means something will go wrong.
As they walk past the main stage, they notice a banner:
"The Amazing Mesmero – Hypnotist Extraordinaire!"Roxanne: "Oh! I've never seen a hypnotist before! Let's watch!"
Max gulps. "Uh… yeah! Sure! Hypnosis is cool! Heh…"
The Hypnotist's Act – A Goofy TransformationInside the tent, The Amazing Mesmero, a flamboyant hypnotist in a swirling cape, invites volunteers to the stage.
Mesmero: "Who among you has the mind strong enough to resist… the POWER of HYPNOSIS?"
Max tries to sink in his chair, but Roxanne raises his hand for him!
Roxanne: "Max will do it!"
Max's eyes widen in horror.
Max: "Wait, wha—?"
Before he can object, Mesmero waves his hand, and suddenly, Max finds himself on stage, staring at a swinging pocket watch.
Mesmero: "You are getting sleepy… very sleepy…"
Max tries to resist… but soon his eyes droop, and his body sways slightly.
Mesmero: "Now… when I snap my fingers, you will embrace your TRUE self… You will behave just like your dear old dad!"
SNAP!
Max blinks… then suddenly stands up straight, chest puffed out. He looks around with a goofy grin and, in a voice just like Goofy's, says:
Max: "Gawrsh, Roxanne! Ain't this a hoot?"
The audience erupts with laughter, but Roxanne looks shocked.
Roxanne: "Max…?"
Max Becomes a Mini-Goofy!For the next few minutes, Max, completely under hypnosis, acts just like Goofy:
Trips over his own feet, sending popcorn flying everywhere.
Laughs like Goofy ("A-hyuck! Hyuck! Hyuck!"), causing kids in the audience to copy him.
Does the "Goofy Yodel", making the whole fairground turn their heads.
Tries to impress Roxanne… and fails spectacularly.
He bows dramatically—but his pants fall down, revealing polka-dotted boxers.
Roxanne covers her mouth, trying not to laugh.
Breaking the HypnosisMesmero, satisfied, snaps his fingers again.
SNAP!
Max shakes his head, blinking. He sees the laughing crowd and Roxanne grinning at him.
Max: "Uh… why is everyone looking at me like that?"
Roxanne giggles. "Because you were totally acting like your dad!"
Max's face turns bright red.
Max: "No… NO WAY! YOU'RE MESSING WITH ME!"
Roxanne: "Nope! You did the Goofy laugh and everything!"
Max groans in embarrassment, covering his face. "Ugh! That's it! I'm NEVER showing my face at school again!"
Roxanne smiles and nudges him playfully.
Roxanne: "C'mon, Max! It was funny! Besides… I think it's kinda cute."
Max stops. Did… did she just say cute?!
His ears turn red.
Max: "Uh… uh… well, uh… Gawrsh?"
Roxanne bursts into laughter.
Ending – A Goofy Family MomentThat night, Max slumps into bed, still humiliated.
Max: "Dad… worst day ever. I totally embarrassed myself in front of Roxanne!"
Goofy chuckles.
Goofy: "Well, Maxie, sounds like ya gave 'er a real good laugh! Sometimes, bein' a lil' Goofy ain't so bad!"
Max rolls his eyes.
Max: "Yeah, yeah… sure, Dad."
Goofy grins and notices Max's bare foot sticking out from under the blanket again.
Goofy: "Well, I know one lil' Goof who's ready fer bed!"
Before Max can react, Goofy grabs Max's foot and starts tickling again.
Goofy: "This little Goof went to market…"
Max erupts into laughter, kicking and squirming.
Max: "Daaaad! NOOO! NOT AGAIN!"
The screen fades to black as Max's laughter fills the room, with Goofy's chuckle in the background.
