Walking through the streets of New Domino City, calm and collected while sticking to a mission, but not many realizing as to what happened three nights ago. Thankfully, the season of summer is already underway and the ice was melting away as quickly as it could, but those who have to work there noticed the area was a lot colder than usual. Was it that someone had left the air conditioning? Were some people working on the air conditioning within the buildings? These were two questions amongst many others that circulated throughout some parts of the city.
Sector Security did their level best to get rid of the ice that both Brionac and Gungir had created with the help of the summer heat. Though, there was a question for them. What were they going to do with this ice that was leftover from the removal? There were many that suggest a series of ideas, but as of now that matters not as they were quickly ordered by Rex Goodwin to keep the citizens calm and have them lie to them for a while. Rex didn't want to cancel the Fortune Cup as he now needed to keep finding out the identities of the other Signers; marked by the marks of the Crimson Dragon. For now, the other thing on his mind was tracking down the user of these three Dragons of the Ice Barrier.
Only a few people had heard the terrible roars of what some of them thought were a bunch of powerful gusts of wind that sounded like a pair of beasts that were about to rampage through town, but were suddenly stopped by some unseen force. It was only a select few that knew what it actually was. And in the Citadel, the old man - Tenzen Yanagi knew what it was as he had been on many travels throughout the world, and he remembers it through a set of cave paintings that he discovered in Siberia at least ten years ago; cave paintings that appeared to show three ginormous Dragons painted in a very bright blue.
They towered the few other paintings that represent Humans and animals - they were all painted in a dark red - which were much smaller than the Dragons. These particular paintings told a story of how these three Dragons once brought the land, or possibly the entire world into a whole new Ice Age. Many warriors did their best to fight back, but they were instantly frozen on the spot by the beasts. It was said that only one man managed to seal away the three terrible Dragons of Ice within a magic mirror, but this old mirror has long since been destroyed and the souls of the beasts had been placed in stone tablets to keep them safe, and no longer cause an entirely new Ice Age that Humanity may never survive.
"Hey, Tenzen… What's up?" Yusei said to the old man, feeling worried about him. "You are constantly looking out the window of the cell."
"Yusei… Did you happen to hear a pair of roars the same night that you dueled against Jack Atlas?" Was the reply of the old man, but not in his usual attitude. It was almost like he was a completely different person.
It took a while for him to register what he said to him. But Yusei did manage to think for a moment as he sat back, and he realized at the exact moment his duel with Jack had ended and he was arrested by Sector Security; he, and everyone else that was in the arena at the time heard the sound of a pair of roars that appeared out of nowhere. And that did not come from either the Crimson Dragon that came out of nowhere, nor Jack's Red Dragon Archfiend, or his own Stardust Dragon, but he really didn't know where they came from.
"Yes, I actually heard a pair of roars, do you think you might know about them?"
"Yes…"
Yanagi turned to look at him with a grim look on his face as he turned to look straight at Yusei with that every expression. "When I was traveling around the world, I traveled through the Siberian Mountains. The storm, however, was starting to get really bad, so we decided to go into a nearby cave to rest for a while. It was only until we lit our campfire that we were able to see it - the cave paintings that showed them."
"Them?"
"What we would know as the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier. Brioniac, Gungir, and the most terrible of the three - Trishula. It was amazing, the big and ancient cave had been painted for a long distance, but those three Dragons took up a lot of space - with only the humans and animals that surrounded them being the size of an insect."
"Are you serious?" Said a voice that was actually familiar to Yusei as the two of them looked to where they heard the voice.
When Chiaya was finally getting better, she was told by Yukina that Sector Security had found them, but only wanted to take them to see Rex Goodwin. This confused the four girls as they thought that they were going to be locked up in the Citadel, instead, the four of them were given an actual invitation from Rex Goodwin. Both surprised and speechless at first, the four of them began to take a moment to take in the situation and discuss what to do. After all, they do have Sector Security waiting just outside their door, so it seemed that their options were limited at this moment.
They needed to make a plan so Nozomi and Ai both requested that they see Yusei in the Citadel as they suspected that he was captured after that incident with the Crimson Dragon, but they did not mention the Crimson Dragon part. And this was actually done without a single hint of a treachery, but the four girls knew to keep their senses about, especially when it comes to the Sector Security of New Domino City.
But as Ai and Yukina went to the Citadel, Ai and Yukina were taken to Goodwin straight away. And there they found the man, standing in front of the glass window - the same window that he witnessed the summoning of Gungir and Brioniac.
"Mister Goodwin, we have brought the two girls as you asked."
"Good, you may go now." Goodwin said to the Officer plainly, turning to look at them. "I will take it from here."
"Of course."
As the Officer left, Goodwin walked up to both Chiaya and Yukina, saying to them, "I have looked up you two?"
"We… We sure you have Mister Goodwin." Yukina responded to the middle aged man, actually feeling rather nervous to actually meet the man that built New Domino City and is now leading this city into a new age past the loss of what was the old Domino City.
"I bore witness to your duel just a few nights ago, but thanks to a certain pair of monsters the video was cut short."
"You… You actually… Saw us dueling those thugs?" Chiaya stammered a bit.
"We even found the two thugs still unconscious bodies. They are still alive, but barely - if you two are curious. They are being kept in the Citadel while giving them the best of emergency treatments."
He walked towards his desk after looking down at them for about a minute or two, sitting down before looking back at them - who also looked at him. He was so calm about this as if he knew what he was doing. Both Yukina and Chiaya could see this, no change within the look on his face. Was this not even new to this man? Were there other powerful and dangerous cards and individuals in the city before they actually arrived in New Domino City? If so, were they still in the city?
"And we know that you… Chiaya Misono is in possession of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier. Probably three of the most dangerous cards in all of Duel Monsters - so dangerous that they are generally banned in any Duel Monsters tournaments."
This broke the blond out of her initial train of thought as she quickly pulled her deck out of her deck box that was connected to the belt section of her gray shirt via a loop built into this deck box. She looked in her deck and found Brionac, Gungir, and the most powerful of the Ice Barrier Dragons - Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. She placed them down on the desk as she and Yukina sat down on the other side of the desk.
"So you know about the legends behind these three cards?" She began to say to him. "I thought that they were just stories that were just so exaggerated just so they could hog them for themselves."
"Yes, I do." He said to them with a nod. "But the legends of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier are not of the faint of heart. Many early Human lives have lost their lives trying to slay them, and a great many species of animals have died out thanks to these three behemoths of ice and snow."
"So what were these paintings of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier doing in a cave in Siberia? Weren't they originally cards first?" Nozomi asked Yanagi.
Yusei, and the two girls were now sitting down in the cell listening to Yanagi. The guards had escorted both Nozomi and Ai to the cell that both Yanagi and Yusei were in and the two of them were told by the guards that they were given at least fifteen minutes before all the inmates were sent to the mess hall for lunch before they are sent to the arenas for duels.
Nozomi both knew that this place was one of the worst prisons on the planet, but the two of them couldn't publicly speak out against this injustice - especially within this place as the two of them would be thrown into a cell just like Yusei and Yanagi. However, in the impulsive mind of Ai, there may be an option, but we will get to that in a bit.
"The original legend of the three Ice Barrier Dragons says that they originated within the Mountains of North and Central Asia during early stages of the Ice Age, and in fact, some folks believe that they were the source of the Ice Age. Many early Humans had tried their best to kill them, and they had brought animals and beasts to the efforts only to be frozen in place by the dragons. It was looking like the entire world was going to stay the way it was, an icy wasteland."
"That is when the bravest of the Shamans that lived up North decided to challenge the Ice Barrier Dragons, but as the Ice Barrier Dragons disappeared, so did the Shaman, but all that everyone found was what we would call a mirror today. That mirror was left in the hands of the family of the Shaman, and so generations upon generations of Shamans that had the blood of their ancestor were in possession of what we now know as the Mirror of the Ice Barrier."
"You mean this?" Chiaya inquired, quickly pulling out the Mirror of the Ice Barrier Spell Card from her deck, the card reflecting off of the sunlight that was pointing down at them almost like it was an icy glass material.
"Exactly." Goodwin replied calmly.
"However, that mirror has since been lost to the ravages war and time, which only left a single shard of the mirror, but the deed was done, and the Dragons would have been set free if it wasn't a timely intervention of a powerful Pharaoh that was able to seal all of them within three stone tablets."
"And now the souls of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier have now become these three of the most dangerous Duel Monsters cards in history." Nozomi commented, which she received a nod from the old man.
"But it was also believed in the legend that the Shaman's soul also was placed within a fourth stone tablet, and that is what the cave paintings I had seen seem to confirm it."
"It was also said that the four tablets were guarded by a sect of a secret order from this Pharaoh's personal royal guardsmen that ventured from ocean to ocean, however, no one really knows what happened to them since then."
Chiaya and Yukina had heard about the origins of all Duel Monsters. During Maximillion Pegasus' adventure he was given a powerful relic known as the Millennium Eye as he began seeing so many limestone tablets that inspired him to create the card game of Duel Monsters. This included Dark Magician, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and even the three Egyptian God Cards. He took the time painting and designing these cards - possibly knowing that this would have transferred the awesome power each of these monsters possessed within these - what looked like ordinary cards. And what Goodwin is implying; this Pharaoh had found the souls of the three Ice Barrier Dragons and sealed them away in three stone tablets as well as the soul of the Shaman that vanished was also sealed within a stone tablet.
"So what is with Chiaya feeling weak to the point of collapsing after summoning them?" Yukina asked him with a bit of a curious and concerned look on her face. The bluenette actually thought that Chiaya was going to die in that duel with the thugs.
"It has been reported that even the mere summoning of any of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier during a duel can cause a Duelist to lose a bit of his or her life force. It is more than likely that the Dragons are rejecting the users for not having enough strength to serve them." He explained. "I must admit, the fact that you had managed to summon two of them in a single duel is pretty remarkable as duelists often fall unconscious at the second summon; perhaps the Dragons can sense promise within you."
Chiaya's heart almost stopped the moment she heard from the mouth of New Domino City's Director that even summoning two Dragons of the Ice Barrier came with severe risks.
Yukina began looking at the three Synchro Monster cards with her irises turning back to that fiery gold, Goodwin noticed this immediately as he did see this on what little video from that day, and when they reviewed her profile… They immediately found out there was something off with this girl as her eyes naturally are sapphire blue color, and not a fiery gold. Though, he now realizes that he might see what was going to happen.
"Perhaps… Perhaps I may know a way." Yukina began to say before looking back at her blonde best friend. "Chiaya, hold my hand. I am going to do something that is going to be a little risky."
"O-okay." Was Chiaya's response as she firmly grabbed Yukina's left hand while Yukina held out right towards the three cards. What happened was something that amazed the blond girl the moment her best friend touched the three cards. The moment she took a slight second to blink as she saw her touch the three Ice Barrier Dragon cards, she was now looking at the mountain sized bodies of the first two Dragons of the Ice Barrier - Brionac and Gungir within a realm of mountains, ice, snow and powerful winds. And she looked up at them looking down at both her and Yukina.
The two Dragons gave clear and distinct growls; probably wondering who had disturbed their slumber, although, it seems to Chiaya since they were the size of mountains - like how they were presented during her duels, they could barely see them so they had to lean down closer to them and it seemed to them that they could see them.
Yukina stood her ground in front of them, showing no fear as she allowed Chiaya to have an audience with Brionac and Gungir. She watched the blond reach out to them nervously, but bravely, not really knowing what would happen nor how the Dragons would react to her actions. However, Yukina was surprised to find out that the Dragons appeared to be intrigued to see this blond girl - like they were surprised when meeting an old friend again for god knows how many years. It was even more surprising was the fact that both Brionac and Gungir allowed her to gently touch them, but she could only touch them on their lower jaw due to their immense size, which they didn't seem to mind.
But then, Yukina looked up to see the gigantic silhouette of the most powerful of the Ice Barrier Dragons - Tishula, the Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Her eyes glowing a dark apple red color with all the intention of sending whomever intruded in during their slumber. Yukina - or what she thought was Yukina at the moment - quickly pulled Chiaya back - which surprised the blond haired girl, and the two other Ice Barrier Dragons just before Trishula let out a roar that shook the land around them as the beast was going to charge straight at them, causing Chiaya and Yukina to fly back from the shockwave, and they snapped back to reality.
Their bodies physically thrown back in their two chairs the very moment Yukina lets go of the cards, leaving the two girls in serious shock at what had happened. Their breaths heavy from this shock.
"That was not what I was expecting…"
"Neither did I…"
Though, what was in Chiaya's head was this… Was it actually Yukina that pulled her back towards her the moment Trishula appeared behind Brionac and Gungir? She had instantly started feeling that it might not have been Yukina that actually pulled her back as she does not have that kind of strength that this individual. And yet, it almost felt familiar to her, like she had felt it before.
"So what can Chiaya really do to control those three Dragons?" Nozomi said to Yanagi once again.
"I am not really sure if there is any way to control all three of them. But, there is a rumor written within an Ancient Egyptian scroll that says the Shaman may have tamed them by making friends out of them before sealing them and more than likely his own soul within the old mirror. I am sure your friend will more than likely succumb to the power of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier if she tries to summon them again."
Nozomi sat back, feeling distraught about this answer. She really didn't want to lose her blond friend to the gaping maws of the three Dragons of the Ice Barrier as tears fell down her cheeks. But then, she heard the sudden sound of a fist hitting metal, and saw Ai jumping up on her feet with anger on her face.
"I am not going to let those Dragons take her from us as I won't let you guys suffer in this place any further!" She said with clear defiance dripping from her lips before making a very loud and public declaration. "I am going to challenge Warden Armstrong to a Duel and get you guys out of here!"
"You are out of your mind, thinking that you may have a chance trying to take on Warden Armstrong." Bolt Tanner said from the other cell next door.
"Just watch me!" Ai said with a huff before walking out of the cell.
"Wait, Ai!"
The young brunette ran after her, but only to find the guards stopped them both, blocking both ways out.
"Hmmph… You girls should know better than to speak out around here." A rather burly said to them as the girls looked up to see that fat and ugly Warden Armstrong looking down at them. His arms crossed as he leaned in on the rail.
"Oh yeah! Then come down here and the two of us will show you what true justice is!" Ai retorted back rather angrily, her duel disk at the ready.
"I'll take my chances. Guards send them to a-"
"No, Armstrong, you will duel them both." Said a stern voice as everyone looked up to see Director Goodwin with Yukina and Chiaya standing off at some distance behind him. "If you just so happen to beat him, then you may throw them in, but if they win, I will plan the release of some of the inmates here in the Citadel."
"W-whaaa?!"
Both Ai and Nozomi were surprised by this revelation - that Goodwin actually endorsed the duel, but what confused them was the fact that he brought Nozomi into this Duel as well, but why? What was he planning all of a sudden? However, this train of thought was broken when Ai saw the guards backing away a few feet, allowing the two girls to - at the very least - get ready for their duel with Warden Armstrong. This allowed them to walk down towards the dueling rings - where they agreed to duel on.
"Why did you do that?" Armstrong yelled at Goodwin nearly at the top of his lungs. This was almost unlike Goodwin as he only wanted to take on Yusei later, but as of now, Armstrong was going to duel two young girls for the freedom of all the prisoners within the Citadel. He saw this as an embarrassment that he couldn't let down by the guards.
"You will know exactly why I am ordering you to duel against both Ai Hibiki and Nozomi Moritomo." Goodwin said with just as loud of a voice before looking back at the Warden, facing him with a stone cold look. "Be ready Armstrong. Because you will be in for a surprise with one of their cards."
He then immediately began walking out of the room calmly, leaving the Warden almost speechless. Like what was he talking about, when he meant he would be surprised by one of their cards?
"Oh, and Armstrong, be sure to show this live to Jack Atlas, he will want to see this as well." Goodwin added, looking back at him for only five seconds before continuing his walk down the other levels.
The inmates began talking around, wanting to see this duel for themselves, but they were not exactly sure if they would be let out to see both Ai and Nozomi. But just outside the two cells of both Yusei and Bolt, they were talking to the girls about possible strategies to take on the Warden. They all decided that since Ai was the actual challenger that Ai started the duel off with her Dragunity Deck - despite the fact that most of the time when she often went first, her Dragunities were not always built to go first, but she and her deck will try their best to see this first move through to the end.
"Do you actually have a few cards that can go first?" Yusei asked the young lady with his arms crossed.
"Definitely. I just hope that I can get to them for the first turn." Ai replied with a nod.
"I am sure you can, Ai." Nozomi said to her, placing a hand on her shoulder as she knew that she started a few duels well enough back in Tokorozawa - with only two notable duels that the two of them lost. "We haven't failed all of our duels by home, so I say we may have a very good chance to beat the warden, even if it may be by his own rules."
"But my question is this, why did Goodwin endorse your challenge to duel the Warden?" Yanagi pondered for a bit.
"I am not sure, but I am sure that both Yukina and Chiaya might have slipped something, which is a possibility." Ai mentioned after taking a heavy sigh as she tapped her foot. "Goodwin may actually know about your mark now, Nozomi."
Nozomi looked down at her right arm, pulling the sleeve of her jacket to see her mark - the flame still there which did surprise those around her - Yusei the most as he only noticed this mark on his right arm appearing just at the tail end of his duel with Jack. His eyes widened with what you may call excitement and curiosity.
"How did you get that mark?" He asked the young brunette as he showed them his mark, pulling his right glove off.
"It appeared on my arm as I had a vision of my Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, he followed this Crimson Dragon all the way to New Domino City. When my vision was over, I immediately noticed this mark on my arm." Nozomi explained to them.
"Wait! Did you say a Crimson Dragon led your Clear Wing Synchro Dragon towards New Domino City?" The old man exclaimed with a surprised look on his face the moment he had fallen flat on his rear. This caught everyone's attention, turning their gazes towards him.
"You know of this Crimson Dragon?" Nozomi exclaimed.
Yanagi pulled out a piece of paper and began drawing what seemed to be what Nozomi and Yusei saw that day. It was a bit crude, but it was exactly what Yusei and Nozomi saw. Both of their faces were showing shocked expressions.
"Legend has it, the Crimson Dragon's legs, head, flame, wings, and tail were split up into several parts. Then sealed away as marks on the original Signers. The marks were then passed down throughout the generations." Yanagi told them.
"But right now, we only know of two right now - Yusei and Nozomi, and possibly Jack Atlas. So how did the Crimson Dragon get summoned? And where would the other Signers be?" Bolt asked.
Nozomi began thinking as they talked and just came up with an idea. "Perhaps the other Signers are in New Domino City already!"
They all turned to look at her with surprised looks.
"Do you actually believe they may already be in the city right now?" Bolt questioned.
"It is the only and likely possibility." Yanagi pointed out in a single breath after taking a moment to ponder the idea that Nozomi presented to them. It was a sound idea to think about, knowing the legend of the Crimson Dragon as well as anyone who had studied this tale. "The Crimson Dragon could only be summoned the moment when all six Signers are within the general location. So that means the other three Signers were probably not that far from the arena when Yusei was dueling with Jack."
Ai sighed for a minute before she crossed her arms. She knew that they couldn't just keep guessing all day at this point - let alone a week of guessing as to where the other of these Signers. But she understood that finding them is a priority. Right now, however, Ai was focused mainly on taking out Warden Armstrong, freeing some of the inmates here, and then her focus will be followed up on the Fortune Cup.
"Well wherever they are in the city, it will have to wait for now. The duel is going to start soon, and I am sure some of you guys will not want to miss it. I am going to make sure that he will be embarrassed right in front of you guys." She said creating a fist, determination flowing from her lips this time.
"Well. Then good luck, you two. We wish you the best of luck." Yusei said to them as he watched the two of them walk off to the dueling arena. Many of the guards and inmates heading out to watch the whole thing go down.
Despite being made for inmates to duel each other, the arena was not exactly built for a Triangle Duel, but it was agreed that they would use one of the fields. And it was this field that Ai and Nozomi saw the Warden waiting for them with his arms crossed.
"You two are late." He grunted looking up at the two girls.
"We are here anyway, aren't we?" Ai retorted. "Now let's get this duel started."
"Let's go!" The three of them said as their Duel Disks were activated.
Nozomi Moritomo: 4000
Ai Hibiki: 4000
Warden Armstrong: 4000
Meanwhile, in Jack's apartment, he was resting very well when he heard the sound of Rex Goodwin's voice breaking the peace and quiet. His eyes slowly opened, sat up, and turned to look at the screen that was graciously set up in his apartment by Goodwin himself.
"Ah, I do hope that you are having a good rest, Jack. Considering what happened that night." Goodwin said to him as politely as he could.
"What do you want, Goodwin?" Jack barked with a grunt.
"I am sure you would like to watch this." Goodwin said as the screen changed to show the Triangle Duel in the Citadel.
Ai drew her card, looked at it, and it was Dragunity Senatus so she added it to her hand - which had Dragunity Phalanx, and the Spell Cards Monster Reborn, Trade-In, and the Dragunity Spell Cards Whirlwind, and Glow.
"I'll start this off by playing the Spell Card Dragunity Glow - and this allows me to add a Level Five or Higher Dragunity monster to Hand."
She scrolled through her Deck and pulled out Dragunity Arma Leyvaten from her Deck, adding it to her Hand.
"And next I activate Trade-In - which allows me to discard a Level Eight Monster from my Hand to Draw 2 Cards from my Deck."
So she then sent Leyvaten to the Graveyard and drew her next 2 cards - which was both Dragunity Couse and and the Spell Card One for One.
"Next I play the Spell Card One for One. By sending a Monster straight from my Hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Level One Monster from my Deck, and it is Dragunity Tribus."
A tornado soon appeared with the silhouette of the winged-beast appearing at the center with that tornado dispersing, revealing the Dragunity rider. His arms crossed, like he knew what was going to happen next, and showing no fear towards Warden Armstrong - and the fact that he hasn't summoned a monster yet. But he steeled down and began hovering just a few inches off the ground.
"And since he was Special Summoned - I can send a Level 3 or Lower Dragon from my Deck to the Graveyard. So I'll send Dragunity Remus from my Deck to the Graveyard. Next, I Normal Summon Dragunity Senatus from my Hand."
She checked her Deck and pulled Dragunity Remus - a Dragunity Tuner - out from the Deck, and sent it straight to the Card Graveyard. And as all of that was happening with Tribus glowing an Apple Green aura around them, the very same tornado appeared allowing Senatus to appear with all his wisdom. And that wise old birdman began glowing with that same apple green aura forming around him.
"Now, as part of Senatus' effect - I can discard a Dragunity card from my Hand to equip a Dragon Dragunity Tuner from my Deck to him. And I chose Dragunity Corsesca."
So she sent Dragunity Couse from her Hand to the Graveyard as her Deck shone a very bright Emerald Green before it shot out towards Senatus, but it didn't seem to phase him as he began to glow a slightly darker shade of green compared to the original Apple Green. Soon, her Graveyard began to glow a Grass Green due to one of the effects of one of her Dragunities that was actually in the Graveyard.
"And since I control a Dragunity Monster, I can now Special Summon the Tuner Monster Dragunity Remus from my Graveyard."
A tornado then rushed out of her Card Graveyard, allowing the Dragunity Tuner Monster to appear on the field with a roar.
"And now, I play Monster Reborn, to bring back the Level 8 Dragunity I pitched for the effect of Trade-In, Dragunity Arma Leyvaten!"
The tornado once again appeared in another Monster Zone allowing a much larger beast with orange scales and a pair of feathered wings, a pair of Dragon wings where its tail meets its torso, and armed with a large blade in one of its hands. The Dragon then began hovering just a couple of inches from the ground as it held its blade in his dominant hand in a reversed grip with the blade pointing down and near the ground. And again this beast showed absolutely no fear towards this Warden.
"Now, since he is Special Summoned - I can equip my Dragunity Phalanx to him straight from Graveyard." She went on as another green beam of light shot towards Leyvaten, making it glow with an Apple Green Aura. "Now, Level Two Dragunity Remus is going to tune with Level One Dragunity Tribus and Level Four Dragunity Senatus. The Winds of the Old King of Weapons, at the pinnacle of his power will now take flight with the fury of a great rage as it plunges through ranks! SYNCHRO SUMMON! TAKE FLIGHT! DRAGUNITY KNIGHT - GORMFAOBHAR!"
Out of the tornado and beam of light that engulfed the three monsters appeared a great emerald Drake with an emerald armored Dragunity Dragon Rider mounted on its back. It let out a roar of defiance to the Warden. It then began hovering just a few feet from the ground.
"And since it was Synchro Summoned - I can equip a Dragunity Tuner directly from my Graveyard, and I choose good old Corsesca! And I now place one card face-down and end my turn. Your move Warden."
"Well, I will show you what you are dealing with." He said drawing a card from his Deck. "I play Iron Chain Repairman in Attack Mode."
And soon an ugly Ogre-like Warrior appeared with a large mallet in one of his hands with chains acting as the straps to his overalls. It gave a ugly grin at the two girls just as the Warden pulled a card from his Hand.
"Next I activate the effect of my Iron Chain Snake~ I can equip it to one of your Monsters and it loses Eight Hundred ATK and DEF Points."
Soon the Iron Chain Snake appeared coiling around Ai's Leyvaten making it weaker, making it kneel down in pain.
Dragunity Arma Leyvaten: 2600 - 800 = 1800
"And next I play the Spell Card, Double Summon - this allows me to Normal Summon a second time. And I choose Marauding Captain. And since he was Normal Summoned - I can Special Summon another Monster from my Hand, and I choose Iron Chain Coil."
With the two new monsters being summoned, he then played - what was his final card in his Hand.
"Next I play the effect of Card of Demise - which allows me to draw five cards from my Deck, but I don't use them within five turns, I will have to discard them within five turns. So I play the Spell Cards Poison and Paralyzing Chain from my Hand."
Soon those two Spell Cards appeared on his field, but not next to each other in adjacent Spell & Trap Card Zones.
"And next I will tune my Level Three Marauding Captain with my Level Three Iron Chain Coil. And I Synchro Summon, Iron Chain Dragon!"
Those two monsters then disappeared to give way for the large serpentine metal Dragon with only wings that were very metallic, and a pair of almost antler-like horns protruding from the crown of its head.
"Now, I place two cards face-down and end my turn. Which triggers both the effects of my Poison Chain and Paralyzing Chain Spell Cards. Starting with Poison Chain, which means you two will have to send the top cards of your Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of Iron Chain Monsters on the field. Which means three cards have to be sent to the Graveyard." He told them.
Both Ai and Nozomi didn't want to do that, but they had no choice. So Ai started first, and pulled three cards from her Deck - Dragunities Dux, Pilum, and the Spell Card Summon Storm. So she sent those three cards to her Graveyard and for both Pilum and the Summon Storm Spell Card - it was fine as he can equip Pilum to a Dragunity later, and banish Summon Storm to Special Summon Level Four or Lower Monster that she can possibly draw next turn.
Nozomi then proceeded to pull three cards from her Deck - which was the Symphonic Warriors DJJ and Drumss and the Spell Card Return of the Dragon Lords. And she sent those three cards to her Graveyard.
"And that causes a chain with my Paralyzing Chain - if you send cards from your Deck to your Graveyard; you are dealt three hundred points of damage for each of those cards that you sent to the Graveyard! Meaning you two are both dealt nine hundred points of damage!"
Very soon, both Ai and Nozomi's duel disks began to produce sparks of electricity, which began enveloping the two of them in electricity, and caused them a bit of pain. They cried out in pain as they could only grab onto their arms as the pain originated there. For Nozomi, her Duel Monster Spirit Friends; Den-Den Daiko Duke, Ohajikid, Fuki-Modoshi Piper, Horse Stilts, and Ultra Hound gathered around her, trying to help her however they can.
Nozomi Moritomo: 3100
Ai Hibiki: 3100
Warden Armstrong: 4000
Yukina and Chiaya could only watch them within the crowd as they heard the Citadel's guards cheer for the Warden, only for them to be given a menacing glare from the bluenette in kind. A few guards noticed her and backed up a foot or two feeling fear from her, seeing a fiery black aura coming from her - her eyes obviously changing from the sapphire blue to that fiery gold. Only once they knew who they would be messing with did she finally calm down, hoping that they would think twice before cheering against her friends. But for the inmates, they were all giving both Ai and Nozomi encouragement to continue dueling him.
Come on guys, I know you have faced guys worse than this fatso. She said to them in her thoughts her eyes going back to normal.
Are you two alright? That looked pretty nasty! Den-Den Daiko Duke said to the brunette as the electric shock had stopped just thirty seconds later.
You hahahave to get up! Horse Stilts said to her, trying his best to encourage her to get up and continue this duel for Yusei. For Yanagi and Bolt. And for the other likely innocent souls that were here in the Citadel.
Yeah, yeah I am fine. But good god does that really hurt! We have to get rid of those two cards before they do any further damage! Nozomi said to them mentally as they could thankfully hear her. She began to breathe a bit easier after the damage was dealt to both her and Ai. But she was still clinging onto her duel disk for a little bit longer than she really needed to.
"You two better give up now before this gets any worse." Armstrong huffed to them with a ugly smirk on his face and a bit of a guttural grunt. "I am giving you this one chance to back down."
"Warden Armstrong…" Ai said with a pant as she was able to get up on her feet. "We will not give up until you are beaten and the inmates are freed from your tyranny! And my Dragunity Knight - Gormfaobhar actually has an effect that will stop your cards! By sending an Equip Card I control to the Graveyard, I can target up to two of your cards and banish them - so I am banishing both Paralyzing Chain and Poison Chain!"
And the emerald green Dragunity Synchro Monster began glowing a darker shade of green just as the two cards in question began glowing the same shade of green before the two of them fell down a pair of black portals that signifies that the two cards are actually banished. This had left Warden Armstrong surprised, but that was of no consequence as he had other ways of dealing those two girls damage. In fact, the two face-down cards he had on the field were able to deal them some damage, so he wasn't worried at the moment. And if those cards failed to defeat Ai and Nozomi, he had more cards to stall them until he can get into more of the cards in his deck that can deal damage.
"Yeah…!" Nozomi joined in as she and Ai showed bruising from the shock that came from their Duel Disks. "... Good work Ai! So give us your worst!"
Her Duel Monster Spirit friends stood at her side with smiles on their faces. They were ready to help her in any way they could. Now holding her duel disk out normally, she was ready to show Armstrong what she can do.
Everyone watching; Yusei, Yukina, Chiaya, Yanagi, Bolt, Jack Atlas, and everyone else that was watching immediately knew that there was no turning back from this duel for the Warden, Nozomi, and Ai. And now it was Nozomi's turn, and she was going to show her what her deck was capable of. The aura of Clear Wing Synchro Dragon formed behind her as the malachite green aura formed around her as well.
Jack Atlas could see the aura forming around her as well as Clear Wing's aura. He was really surprised to see this. In fact he really didn't believe it was actually real to see. To think that this brunette girl was possibly in the possession of the very first Synchro Monster ever made for Duel Monsters. This made him furious as he should have been in the hands of one of the most powerful Synchro Monsters, but the question for him is this, how did it slip through his sight or his reach?
Sure, claiming Yusei's Stardust Dragon was a benefit, but he really desired to obtain the Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. However, throughout his travels in the world, he had failed to find the very first Synchro Monster in all of Duel Monsters. And now he is seeing Clear Wing in the hands of a simple and young girl that came from the state of Tokorozawa. It actually made him livid just to think about it.
Yusei was surprised to see this. He has seen her use Clear Wing Synchro Dragon in her duel against Sector Security, and he was quite surprised to see the actual and very first Synchro Monster in all of Duel Monsters. He also remembered hearing the stories from his friends back in the Satellite about how his Stardust Dragon, Jack's Red Dragon Archfiend, and Nozomi's Clear Wing were all created on the same day long before Zero Reverse happened. Though, that was all he knew or even what his friends back in the Satellite knew. He really didn't
The Warden and his Iron Chain monsters could only watch this happening as they were going to face the full power of both Ai's Dragunities and Nozomi's Symphonic Warriors and Speedroids. She looked at the card…
