Striking the ground with the force of a large meteorite coming from the farthest reaches of our Solar System; the Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake's effect - the monster in the form of a great pike - destroys all the cards on both not only Nozomi's side of the field, but also Jack Atlas' side of the field in a great blast of wind. The wind not only destroyed Jack's ace monster, Red Dragon Archfiend, but also Nozomi's own Speedroids. But to Nozomi, she thought this was a necessary cost.
Jack was somewhat unfazed - aside from a flinch, closing his left eye in the process. He was planning to save his Red Dragon Archfiend with De-Synchro… But he did not count on the fact Nozomi's Kitedrake could destroy all cards - regardless of card effects. Although, there are a few cards in his deck that would allow him to get his ace monster back from the Graveyard so he was not worried about that at the moment. So he needed to buy some time in order to get his Red Dragon Archfiend back. The question for Jack Atlas was this… Would Nozomi allow him to get that card?
"Sadly my Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake can't attack the turn he used this effect, so I will place two cards face-down and end my turn." Nozomi concluded as two face-down cards - her Magnet Force Trap Card and her Magnet Reverse Spell Card - appeared on the right and left most Spell and Trap Card Zones of her side of the field. "I will be able to play my Magnet Reverse on my next turn…" She said in her thoughts as she looked down the right face-down card. "But I know my Duel Monster Spirits can help me out on this one."
Jack Atlas: 4000
Nozomi Moritomo: 3200
"Well… Let me show you how it is done, then I draw!" Jack said, instantly pulling out the next card in his Deck. He looked at it and he smiled. "Looks like I have what I need! Since only you have monsters on the field, I can Special Summon my Vice Dragon from my hand. Though since I Special Summoning him by the way of his effect, his ATK and DEF Points are cut in half!"
Vice Dragon then appeared on the field with a small purple aura formed around him, signifying that his ATK Power has been halved.
"And now I play the Speed Spell Angel Baton, and since I currently have two or more Speed Counters, I can Draw 2 Cards from my Deck." And once he pulled out his next two cards from his Deck. "And next, I play the Spell Card, Graceful Charity - which grants me the privilege to get an additional three more cards at the cost of two cards."
He then drew three more cards and then sent two cards - that Nozomi didn't know would be important - to the Graveyard.
"And I activate the effect of Absolute King Back Jack in my Graveyard! If this card was sent to the Graveyard, I can take a look at the Top Three of my cards in my Deck and then place them in the top of my Deck in any order."
And once that was done, Jack then used the next two cards he drew from his Deck.
"I then equip the Equip Spell Axe of Despair to my Vice Dragon! My Axe of Despair gives it a thousand ATK Points!"
Vice Dragon: 1000 1000 = 2000
"Now, I activate the Spell Card Crimson Gaia! And now Vice Dragon, Attack!"
"I'm sorry, what! Why are you attacking my Kitedrake with your Vice Dragon?" Nozomi exclaimed, just as Vice Dragon destroyed himself as Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake simply ran it down like a very fast freight train. Vice Dragon shattered into pieces the very instant the two monsters made almost instant contact like a truck t-boning a car at full speed. Though, Vice Dragon tried to go down fighting, flying as fast as he could to stave off the inevitable. A well placed hit from one or the other, a good natured clash acknowledged by the viewers from Tokorozawa, and the two then brought the fight back down on the deck, that is, until Vice Dragon finally gave into the power of Kitedrake.
Jack Atlas flinched a bit from the damage that was caused by the destruction of his Vice Dragon. Though to him this was a necessary sacrifice.
Jack Atlas: 3000
Nozomi Moritomo: 3200
"And thanks to your Kitedrake, I can activate one of the effects of my Crimson Gaia Spell Card. Since a monster like my Vice Dragon was destroyed by battle or card effect - I am able to resurrect my Red Dragon Archfiend from my Graveyard!" He told her just as the card unleashed a pillar of flame that allowed his Red Dragon Archfiend rise up from his card Graveyard, able to let out a roar of defiance of Nozomi's Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake - the ladder of the two letting out a loud machine-like roar. "And now… I activate the next effect of Crimson Gaia - this allows me to add a Red Dragon Archfiend related card from my Deck or Graveyard to my Hand. And I think I will activate it, the Spell Card Red Dragon Vase - this allows me to draw 2 more cards straight from my Deck, but I cannot Special Summon or Normal Summon any more monsters until the end of your next turn."
He looked at the two cards before moving his eyes back to the duel.
"And I will place them face-down and end my turn."
Nozomi drew her next card - the Spell Card Speed Recovery - and decided it was time. Time to bring out her oldest friend. A friend she knew since she was a little girl. She then looked back at Jack as she decided to play Speed Recovery.
"I activate the Spell Card, Speed Recovery! This allows me to Special Summon one of my Speedroids from the Graveyard, and I choose my Terrortop." She declared as her Terrortop appeared on the field through a portal from the card Graveyard. "And since he had been Special Summoned, I can add a Speedroid from my Deck to my Hand, and I choose good old Speedroid CarTurbo."
And once she added the Gum Prize from her Decks to her Hand, and saw her chance to use the next card.
"And next I activate the effect of my Speed Recovery in my Graveyard - by banishing it, I can add a Speedroid from my Graveyard to my Hand, and I pick Fuki-Modoshi Piper, and now, I will Normal Summon her to the field."
And soon Fuki-Modoshi was back on the field, but the two monsters knew they weren't going to be around for long.
"And now, I tune my Level Three Terrortop with my Level Four Fuki-Modoshi Piper!" She declared as her two monsters began to merge together - with Terrortop flying up in the air, and Fuki-Modoshi Piper turning into four Synchro Rings. "Behold as the Earth, Water, and Wind will combine to bring forth a crystalline force! I Synchro Summon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
And out of the light came the black, white, and malachite green-winged Dragon flew out of the fading light with a mighty roar, causing the spectating people of Tokorozawa broke out in a series of mad and hopeful cheers, and hollers the moment Nozomi's ace monster hit the field. Clear Wing then lined up next to Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake as he started staring down at the Red Dragon Archfiend - Jack's ace monster - with a determined glare before he began talking to him just a few seconds later. The two Dragons roared at each other, with the entire arena beginning to shake all around them. This began a series of chain reactions - starting with both Nozomi and Jack's Signer Marks began glowing with a burning sensation on their right forearms.
"Ngh…" Nozomi grunted as she placed her off hand on her right forearms, her eyes shut from the pain. Her hand began to clamp down upon the area of her mark - the mark of the flame - before she looked back at Jack, seeing that he was having the same problems. But she knew in her mind that he wasn't going to listen to her, or at least, not until she more than likely beat some sense into him like a series of drums. Though why was it filling her with anger? Was it due to Signer Mark, or was it something else?
"Now I attack with Kitedrake!"
"If you think you can destroy both your Kitedrake and Red Dragon Archfiend, then you're gravely mistaken!" Jack said, spinning his duel runner around - now that he was reversing along the race track and facing Nozomi - just as one of his face-down cards revealed itself at its user's command. "I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Absolute Powerforce! It unleashes a set of powerful effects! First, it gives my Red Dragon Archfiend an additional thousand ATK Points!"
A crimson aura began to form around Jack's ace Synchro Monster - his very rugged soul as it began to roar out with such force that ground around it began to shake, it was like the Earth was trembling before the Dragon.
Red Dragon Archfiend: 3000 1000 = 4000
The moment that the two monsters crashed into each other, their heads smashing into each other's. Neither intending to give an inch of ground to the other. But due to the ATK Power increase, Red Dragon Archfiend was able to get the upper hand against Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake with a swift strike to the metal dragon's stomach. This caused Kitedrake to explode like a great piece of dynamite. This caused Nozomi to cover her face from the smoke and flames.
"Oh and another effect it grants me and Red Dragon Archfiend is, inflict double the battle damage to you!"
The brunette managed to uncover her face from the smoke - only for her eyes to widen the moment she heard that from him, the giant flames taking the form of one of the Red Dragon Archfiend's clawed hands. And it was heading straight for her, and struck her like a meteorite on the Earth. She cried out in pain the moment it hit her.
Jack Atlas: 3000
Nozomi Moritomo: 1200
Ai and the people Tokorozawa could only watch as Nozomi was in complete pain, the mother and father of the brunette were having difficulty taking in what they were watching too well. But they could see Nozomi coming out of the smoke, hurt sure, but still in one piece with some scratches to her duel runner to boot. They could see that she was hit and actually hit bad. But it seems that Nozomi was not going to take this lying down in defeat.
"I activate Kitedrake's effect - since he was destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, I can now add a Speedroid from my Deck to my Hand!" Nozomi said as she pulled out her Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice from her Deck. She looked at it before she could see Red-Eyed Dice on her left and she could tell that he was trying to say something to her. She then began to feel a different type of sensation coming from her Signer Mark; was her Duel Monster Spirit Friends as well as the Crimson Dragon telling her something? And she began to see what they were trying to tell them in the form of large cards that lead to a large glowing card. "Well… Perhaps there is no other way." She said in her thoughts before looking back at Jack.
"I Normal Summon the Tuner Monster - Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice!" She declared just as Red-Eyed Dice appeared on her side of the field.
"Just what is she planning?" Jack's thoughts began racing - much like a race car driver in a fast pace race, as he looked at the brunette Turbo Duelist. "Her Battle Phase has been used up already, and her second most powerful Synchro Monster has already been destroyed so she cannot bring it back… So what is hoping to do by summoning another Tuner Monster?"
"And now, I tune my Level Seven Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with my Level One Tuner, Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice!"
Clear Wing quickly flew up into the sky with Red-Eyed Dice following just a few seconds behind Clear Wing. The latter turned into a single green Synchro Ring.
"Are you mad! Your Kitedrake is in the Graveyard! You can't bring it back with a Synchro Summon!" The Turbo Dueling Superstar exclaimed in complete shock. And it is true, there is no possible way to Synchro Summon a previous monster that was sent to the Graveyard. It was a common rule throughout Duel Monsters these days. But what Jack doesn't know, this isn't what Nozomi was intending, not to break the rules, and bring back her Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake from the Graveyard.
"Not quite, as there is one more monster I have in my Extra Deck; much more powerful than my Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's base form! And now I will now bring it forth in this Turbo Duel!" Nozomi corrected him as she instantly pulled out what seems to be a blank card from her Extra Deck. "Shine your wings that store the holy light, and you shall now strike down your adversaries with the radiance of that great light!"
A single Synchro Ring that enveloped Nozomi's ace Synchro Monster. Clear Wing then turned into his seven stars that made up his level. And then, finally, the seven star levels and the single green Synchro Ring had been engulfed in a blinding white light, then the Crimson Dragon suddenly appeared with a wailing roar, and it provided the light that came out with a great power boost; a blast from a single breath of its fire that merged with the light.
"SYNCHRO SUMMON!"
But that blank card instantly turned into a brand new Synchro Monster, allowing the light to fade away, paving the way for this new monster. A Dragon that was covered in almost nothing but a shining, blinding white quartz crystal, blue and black scales underneath that crystal. Much like Clear Wing, this Dragon had two arms, a long body in the form of a serpent-like tail, but not legs. Never before had Nozomi ever summoned this monster - this monster never really existed to begin with as it flew up into the night sky, shining light upon the city as it let out a roar.
"Come forth from the light! Level 8 and Holy Flame of the Crimson Dragon! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"
Rex Goodwin was watching this whole duel, and was completely, genuinely surprised by this sudden turn of events. He has never seen this monster; this form of the Clear Wing Synchro Dragon before. They didn't even have a single piece of information of this new Synchro Monster within the archives of the old Duel Monsters database.
Ai was just amazed by this monster. Such beauty, and she could definitely tell that this form Clear Wing Synchro Dragon was a significant upgrade from the base form. "I don't know how or when she acquired that, but I think it is about time for her to bust it out!" She exclaimed in her thoughts, just as both Jack and Nozomi rushed on by almost like a pair of jets.
The folks at Tokorozawa were just speechless, just awestruck at what they had just seen before their very eyes. Even they didn't know about this card, or even seen this monster before. Nozomi's parents were even more shocked by this - to her father, he knew this was the Crimson Dragon's doing, and her mother felt it was the mighty hands of fate that was calling for Nozomi's victory against Jack in this Turbo Duel.
"Unbelievable!" Jack just could believe that this young brunette was able to bring forth a monster that was far more powerful than her original Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. "Well that is not going to help you on my next turn."
"We'll see about that. I end my turn."
"My turn!" The Turbo Dueling Superstar said as he drew his next card. "I reveal my final face-down card, the Trap Card Assault Mode Activate! And this allows me to transform my Red Dragon Archfiend into Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode!"
And sure enough, Red Dragon Archfiend changed, but not like Clear Wing turning into Crystal Wing - more like it was granted some modern armor. But it did get an additional ATK boost of five hundred. Making him stronger than Crystal Wing in ATK Power, however, to the surprise of Jack Atlas, there was going to be a surprise for him.
"However, I cannot activate his effects or attack the turn so I will end my turn here with a face-down card."
"Alright, I draw!" Nozomi said, pulling her Return of the Dragon Lords straight from her Deck - which instantly gave her an idea. "I play Return of the Dragon Lords to bring back my Clear Wing Synchro Dragon from my Graveyard!"
And very soon, Clear Wing reappeared on her side of the field.
"I don't think so!" He called out as his face-down card revealed itself. "I activate my down card! Fiendish Chain, this negates your Clear Wing's Effects!"
Chains then began coming from the Trap Card, instantly binding Clear Wing by the arms and neck, Clear Wing clearly trying to get out of these chains. Nozomi clearly saw that he was in distress, so she had to do something to stop it. And she knew just what to do.
"And now I will attack with Clear Wing!"
"I'm sorry what!" Jack exclaimed as everyone that was watching was shocked at what she was doing.
It was then that the Assault Version of Red Dragon Archfiend ran down Clear Wing with a swipe of his claws.
Nozomi Moritomo: 1300 - 1000 = 200
Jack Atlas: 3000
"Well since Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode had been attacked I can destroy all of your other monsters!"
"I don't think so…!" Nozomi corrected him with one eye closed, feeling the pain from the battle damage that was dealt to herself just as Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon began to glow with a pure white aura around him. "Because.. I now activate the effect of my Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! Since one of your Monster Effects has been activated - Crystal Wing will now negate that effect and destroy your Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode! Go Crystal Wing! Light of the Wings of Quartz!"
Crystal Wing then rushed up twenty-five feet into the air before unleashing a great blast of light towards the Assault Version of Jack's Red Dragon Archfiend. Everyone watched all of this going down before their very eyes. And Jack and his Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode were on the receiving end of this effect like they were on the receiving end of a gun barrel. This instantly causes it to blow up into nothing but ash and dust. There was no trace of the crimson armored Drake to be found within the smoke, or so people thought.
"And if he successfully destroys that monster with that effect - he gains the ATK Points of that destroyed monster until the end of the turn!" She went on as that energy that came from his Assault Mode Red Dragon Archfiend - in the form of a fairly dark crimson light - and it began to be absorbed into Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon. This had made the shining quartz crystal white Dragon begin shining even brighter than before with a white aura that began growing with more intensity. He began roaring, the ground almost beginning to shake around them. Ai could tell the astral form of the Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode was right behind Nozomi's Crystal Wing - like it was currently a part of it for a time.
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon: 3000 3500 = 6500
Jack just couldn't believe what he had seen before his own eyes; his very own ace card, his Red Dragon Archfiend destroyed once again, not only that, its power was taken away from him by the brunette's brand new monster. He was being robbed of his soul not just by Nozomi, this new Synchro Monster, but also the Crimson Dragon! Was this really fate calling for his loss, her victory? He had no cards left in his hand, and he does not have a card in his Graveyard that is useful for this current situation.
"And since the Battle Phase is still in effect, I can now attack you directly! Crystal Wing! Go, and take flight! Crystal Cataclysmic Strike!" She declared with Crystal Wing rushing up into the air, the light aura around him starting to amp up its intensity until the quartz crystal white Dragon turned into a giant spear that had a set of wings that sped straight down towards Jack Atlas. And once it hit its mark like an arrow hitting a decently sized bullseye, it was almost like silence fell upon both the city, and the state of Tokorozawa - not even a single sound could be heard in the two lands, like everyone couldn't hear one another.
Light had engulfed the cameras - preventing Goodwin, Ai, and the people of Tokorozawa from actually seeing what actually happened. They couldn't see anything for a good ten minutes until it began to fade away, slowly showing Jack's Duel Runner had fallen on its side, and Jack had fallen not too far from his Duel Runner. Smoke and steam was coming from the white Duel Runner.
Nozomi Moritomo: WINNER!
Jack Atlas: 3000 - 6500 = 0
Nozomi stopped just a few feet from Jack, seeing the physical damage that she caused to the Duel Runner. She could also see that the heat from the attack had left some parts of his Duel Runner and suit a bit charred. Ai was left speechless when she saw the results just as she realized that she needed to get down there and probably help Nozomi - for a few reasons.
One: due to the fact that Nozomi might be hurt and needs someone to help her back on her feet. Being the brunette's best friend, she promised her, Chiaya, and Yukina that all four of them would help each other out if they were hurt, or were currently in trouble. It was a promise that they all kept since they met in Tokorozawa when they were just young girls. And now she is running down to the track to go keep that promise that the four of them made all those years ago.
But Two: Ai could tell that Nozomi needed some support. So she was heading down to the track for that purpose. She might have been shaken up from that entire Turbo Duel so her brunette friend may need a hand up on her feet at the moment. And once she has her sense of balance back, Ai would let her go to see if she can stand up straight once more. And if she falls back down to the ground, on her knees she can pick her back up.
This is what friends are for.
And while she was racing to find the closest exit so she could gain access to the tracks, the people of the State of Tokorozawa erupted into hysterical cheers so loud that the bordering states could hear it all from where they were. Cups were raised so high that half of each of their drinks inside had fallen out of their cups. People were in a riot of cheers, and songs of absolute glory and rejoicing at the fact that their own Turbo Dueling Superstar had beaten the world's one and only Superstar of New Domino City. The neighboring states never heard cheers and songs like this before; often they would hear the singing and cheering during special festivals, but this was much different to them. Much different.
And it would eventually come to them in the form of a rumor - but later they will learn that it is the truth - that Jack Atlas had lost a Turbo Duel to Nozomi Moritomo. The folks of the other states actually couldn't believe what they were hearing, and eventually accepted it as a simple rumor as Jack Atlas was undefeated. And that would remain a rumor within these other states for a while.
"Nozomi!" Ai said to the brunette, just as she managed to get to the track as Nozomi had seemed to have been able to get out of her Duel Runner and right onto her feet with somewhat ease - it was looking like she was going to fall to her knees, so Ai came up next to her. "Are you alright, Nozomi?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm okay. But that…" She replied as she soon looked down at the brand new Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon with an amazed look on her face. "That power… I… Never had I wielded this kind of power before!"
Ai looked down at her card as well and was amazed by this card. "How on Earth did you get this card, Nozomi!? I don't think this was supposed to exist!" She exclaimed as she held her hand - and in the process, her Crystal Wing card a little higher to have a better look at it. She is still amazed by this and needed to know more from her. Though she knew that Nozomi may not have the full details.
"The… What I saw… I saw the Crimson Dragon and my Duel Monster friends, they were telling me something. I saw cards in a specific order before coming to this card shining with very bright lights." She began to explain to her best friend as she and Ai began looking back at Jack and his Duel Runner. "It was then I knew how to beat Jack." The two of them then began to see Jack begin to slowly move, surprising the two.
"JACK!" The brunette exclaimed as she and her best friend began running towards him, trying to help him up. "Hey Jack, are you alright?"
"Ugh… Why are you even doing this? Trying to… To take pity on me, then… Mock me?" The defeated Turbo Dueling Superstar said with a very rude, and loud voice. And as they began to help him up, they were pushed away by him, and he began to walk slowly towards his beaten up Duel Runner.
"Jack, you're hurt, you need help." Nozomi said to him with a serious voice. "I don't know why or how, but… Whatever these marks are doing, they are making the hits we take real. So I need to take you to the hospital." She was not going to take no for an answer.
"That will not be necessary!" Boomed a familiar voice as the two girls turned to see both Rex Goodwin and Lazar with Mina Simington - behind them - walking up to them just as Jack himself had collapsed just a foot his duel runner. "We will take care of Jack from here on out." And as he said that, a medical team rushed towards the Turbo Dueling superstar. "And since you won Jack's challenge, we must honor his side of the deal, Mina?"
As they brought Jack towards them, Mina pulled out the Stardust Dragon card itself from his Deck, and handed it to Nozomi.
"Wow, that is actually Yusei's Stardust Dragon!" Ai exclaimed as Nozomi reached out, and grabbed it.
Nozomi could sense Stardust Dragon within the card just as Clear Wing appeared at her side. She looked at him and he looked at her. "We should probably get Stardust Dragon back to Yusei."
I can tell Stardust is waiting to be back with her original owner. Clear Wing said to her as the brunette was surprised at the fact that her own Signer Dragon named Stardust Dragon with female pronouns before she looked back at the card. Which made her much more curious about this card. She actually thought that Stardust Dragon was a boy, she was not expecting it to be a girl.
"Well thanks Goodwin, I guess." She said to the white haired man before she observed them leave the track with Jack in front of them.
But before he could completely leave, Rex turned to look back at the two girls with what they would call a smile. He then said to the two… "I will be looking forward to seeing you two at the Fortune Cup." … Before he began to walk away once again, still able to catch up with both Lazar and Mina.
And they continued to watch them leave, before they decided to find Yukina, Chiaya, and Yusei before Sector Security came after them. Though they didn't know that they were in the middle of a Turbo Duel of their own. So they reconnected the side car back to the Duel Runner, and they rode all the way back to their apartment, still with hope that someone was not waiting for them there.
When they finally made it to the apartment, they were so relieved that no one was there, they could also tell that no one was watching them any further. But they couldn't find a trace of Yukina, Yusei, or Chiaya around the property. Their duel runners couldn't be found either, which made them worry.
"This is bad, really bad." Nozomi exclaimed as they sat on the duel runner. The brunette had her arms crossed as she pondered about the current location. They were seriously worried as to where they might be.
"Yeah, where in the city could they be right now?" Ai agreed. "Getting Yusei's duel runner back should be a little bit easier than this, meaning, it shouldn't take them this long to get it back right now. Which means by this point…"
"... Sector Security might have caught up to them at the Impound Center." Nozomi said, their eyes looking at each other, and their heads not even moving an inch to turn and look. But it is just as she said that, she noticed a dark portal forming from the clouds - which then allowed the ace monster of Yukina's Morningstar the First Darklord to descend from the portal still with both sword and shield in his hands. "That is Morningstar!"
"Oh no! She and Yusei must be Turbo Dueling Sector Security!" Ai added as she quickly put her helmet on her head.
Nozomi quickly put her helmet on her head as well just as she said… "And we know that Yukina was not feeling good the last few days… Whatever is wrong with her, I don't think she is going to be very merciful with those Sector Security Officers. With Morningstar already brought out, who knows what is happening between them and Sector Security!" They then put the pedal to the metal as they circled to the direction towards the Impound Center, knowing that whoever this is, is an individual that is part of Yukina, is more than likely able to do more damage to other people around her than the friend they always knew.
They know that this wasn't the actions of the bluenette they knew. This was the influence and actions of a whole new person that was part of Yukina, and this person has been seeping in and out of control of Yukina's body. So they need to find a way to help Yukina fight this person in her head. If they can make it in time to help her and Yusei.
What they did not know was that THIS person had been growing stronger and stronger within Yukina's mind and body. And it seems that Yukina was trying to fight back as best as she could, only at first. But to Nozomi, Chiaya, and Ai… Yukina's strength seemed to be waning as the strength of this mystery personality, this whole new person was growing even more stronger. And the control over her body was becoming even more frequent, like this person was clawing its way to full control. Though, Nozomi wondered if the Crimson Dragon had a part to play in all of that - whether or not by accident.
