The hallways were crammed as usual. The weather was finally getting warm which meant everyone put away their jackets and took back out their T-shirts and shorts. First period felt like forever. It was still the morning time and Antonia wanted to stay focused since she wasn't feeling too good. "Come over here," Samuel had a large grin on his face. The desks in the class were set up in tables. Antonia looked at the board and saw that today in history, they were once again having a review game. She walked over and sat beside her boyfriend quietly setting her stuff down. Seymour began going off about how some girl from his first period was apparently flirting with him. The punk laughed at his friend ignoring the fact that Jade was back in school. She and Nicole entered the room around the same time and walked quickly to the group. Antonia glared at her and grabbed her things as if she was ready to change seats. Nicole came up to the girl, ignoring what just happened, trying to remain positive. "Hey, Jiya said we are going to go dress shopping Friday for prom. Do you still want to come?" The bubbly girl looked at Samuel after asking her question. His eyes went wide realizing that the event was coming soon. "Y'all are going to prom? We might not go because of the gym stuff. It seems like a waste of money." Samuel made a face and looked at his girlfriend "I never asked love. Do you want to go to prom?" Nicole looked at him trying to hide her smile, taking the hint. His lips curved to the side, and he raised an eyebrow. "I guess you made plans with your friends already." Antonia held her breath not knowing how to respond. "Damn Sam, they took your girl." They all laughed, and the boy was not stressed about the situation. "Are you all going as mates or does each person have a partner? I have no issue with either." Antonia softly smiled, "Everyone planned on having someone to have a date, but they had input beforehand. Like... before you asked me... so I might be Isaiah's date." Antonia was worried that he was going to react negatively about the plan, but he then shrugged, "Okay, no problem," Samuel smiled back at his girlfriend. Jade shifted her eyes, "I personally wouldn't like the idea of my boyfriend going out with someone else." Samuel frowned, "Nobody asked." Nicole snorted and walked away leaving her best friend as the bell rang.

The students went wild as the prize for the winning group of the review game was bags of chips. Everyone was engaged in the learning and tried to use the little notes they had to win. Antonia often took notes so her journal was passed around often, leaving her poor spiral crinkled. She laughed loudly when it was passed back to her. She held up the journal, pointing at the now bent metal coil. Seymour cackled loudly that everyone in the classroom turned to face him. "Samuel's group. You guys need to seriously calm down." Mr. Olson put a hand on his hip, waiting for them to settle down. Jade turned to face him and rolled her eyes intentionally trying to make him upset. "Oh shit…" The girl thought to herself. "Jade is going to put on her little show and have a fit." He shortly paused the game until the rest of the class got quiet. Antonia instantly felt bad, sitting up to then begin again while the others in the group murmured rude things. She brought her hand to her cheek and looked at the board to avoid making eye contact with both her group members and Mr. Olson. If she looked at him, she would get teary. If she looked at Samuel or the other two, she would burst into laughter. She was embarrassed and waited for the next ten minutes of class to come to an end. Although her group was in third place, it seemed like most of the work was achieved from the work she had in her journal. She walked then to her next class with Nicole.

It was now the next day and the desks were still in groups. Antonia noticed the boys laughing together at the corner of the classroom and Samuel saved a seat for her. He saw the girl and smiled. Antonia waved at him, but knew it was going to be big distraction if she sat with him. She felt conflicted as she didn't know what to do yet decided to sit a table with one other student there. He was Nicole's partner for the project and knew it wouldn't be an issue if she separated herself. Samuel was confused as to why she didn't sit next to him. Seymour looked over trying to get the girl's attention by whispering, "Toni… Toni…" He then slowly turned his head and face Samuel. "What did you do?" He lightly kicked his friend under the table, "Nothing. At least nothing that I know about?" He crossed his arms and kept her in mind. He was unsure as to what to think of. It was very quiet, students in total focus as the test was under administration. About thirty minutes passed and a few students had already finished their test. The walked to Mr. Olson and he graded the exam in that moment. There were quiet cheers and pseudo-profanity said after giving out grades. Antonia was one of the few students that were still not done with their test. She was on the last question as Mr. Olson began shouting. Jade tossed the test on his desk and turned around. She had her purse on approaching ther door. "Where do you think you're going? You can't leave just yet! Class isn't over!" She smirked glancing back at him, "Watch me." The door slammed hard startling the rest of the students. He got up quickly to catch the girl. "What? Where did she go?" Mr. Olson's class was the last in the hallway and was a straight path to the rest of the school. Jade was nowhere to be found.
