Chapter 4
Two days had flown by since Rukia went to the Human World, and so far, no activity had been detected, Zensuke had checked in, and saw that she was fine, and enjoying her current accommodations, which he was very happy to see that her, and Orihime were getting along.
It was late at night, and Zensuke was currently working on some items for his future encounters after just having a shower so he was only in a towel around his hips, and making sure he was prepared, knowing Rukia was in Karakura, he hoped Aizen didn't try and use her, so he was being ready for if it happened.
Suddenly, a beeping came to his phone, so he took it out, and checked a video feed he had set up, and saw Mayuri in the Labs, looking over the notes Zensuke wrote out, something he had vehemently refused to even look at before, but was doing so in private, something Zensuke actually liked as it showed Mayuri valued his thoughts even if he'd deny it.
"Ooh Mayuri-san~" Zensuke cracks his neck sideways, his eyes shifting to the door when he felt a presence. "Come in~"
No sooner than saying it, the door flung open, and revealed Rangiku, along with Toshiro, entering the room.
"Sorry to interrupt your evening, this is Matsumoto, I didn't want to interrupt your night off, but she was insistent, so I came to stop her doing anything wild." Toshiro said with a professional voice.
Though Zensuke saw she couldn't even look at him, due to his lack of clothing, seeing a cute blush on her face.
Rangiku's eyes glued to Zensuke's form, fighting off a blush staining her cheeks. "Actually, I think my Captain wanted to get in on the wild things! You should hear her when she dreams of you Captain, she has some wild-"
"Matsumoto!" Toshiro yelled while flustered.
Rangiku giggled, and gave teasing eyes. "I'm only looking out for you Captain, its okay to be shy, but sometimes you've gotta be forward, and I can help you with that."
Toshiro's eyes swam to the ground, Zensuke thought they both were rather sweet.
"I don't mind if you both come anytime~" Zensuke exclaimed.
Toshiro clears her throat, nodding, while Rangiku grins. "See Captain~? I told you Zensuke-kun would be okay with it~"
"You should call him Captain." Toshiro piped up.
"But he doesn't care, do you Zensuke-kun?"
Zensuke shakes his head. "Nah, I've never been one for formalities really, call me whatever you want. Captain, Zensuke, Zen, anything like that is fine. As long as it isn't 'little bastard' like Mayuri-san used to do, I'm all good~"
Toshiro killed a snicker in her throat, while Rangiku openly laughed.
"Aaah, Zensuke-kun really does have his problems~ Though I'm surprised Nemu-chan isn't with you~"
"She's currently on a little mission, she should be coming back anytime now. I'm sure she'll come here, gets her away from Mayuri-sans influence~ Speaking of, I'm proud of Mayuri-san, he went on a spiel this morning when I tried to give him some of my thoughts on his project, but I just found out he's reading them in private~"
Rangiku snorts. "Ooh Lieutenant Kurotsuchi~"
Toshiro looks amused. "Geez, why doesn't he just say he values your opinion?"
"I think it might actually kill him if he admitted that aloud~" Zensuke chuckled.
Toshiro continued to look amused, as the pair walked closer.
Rangiku, enthralled by the clothing Zensuke wore, or lack thereof, wriggles from side to side.
"Zensuke-kun, we can stay the night, right?"
"Sure, I don't mind."
Toshiro's fights down a larger blush on her face. "I see…as long as we're not inconveniencing you."
"Not at all~"
Rangiku happily cooed, and glomps Zensuke, her breasts pushing against his face, as she hugs his head to her chest. "Aaaah, my Zensuke-kun~ We're gonna have so much fun~" Rangiku's eyes shift to Toshiro. "Come on Captain, I know you like being hugged by Zensuke-kun too~ I heard you say it the other night when you fell asleep at your desk~"
Toshiro's face burned red. "Matsumoto!"
"What Captain? Its okay, we can share Zensuke-kun together~ Squad 10 for the win~"
Toshiro slaps herself in the face.
But then her face continues burning hot red when Zensuke flows an arm around her, showing a compassionate smile.
"Don't worry, you do what you want, okay?"
"Y, Yes, Zen-kun."
Rangiku watched with a grin as her Captain sat next to Zensuke, their fingers entwining on the floor, while Rangiku happily held one of her favourite Captains to her bosom, enjoying the ambience of the evening.
Entering Karakura Town for the first time the next morning, five individuals stepped foot onto the scenery, as the sun rose behind them.
Five girls to be exact.
Overlooking the town, the seeming leader of the group steps forward, her eyes scanning over the landscape.
"Well, here we are. So this is Karakura Town huh, can't believe we were sent here. I wonder what's gonna happen next…" The seeming leader began.
"I can't believe we made it~ Ooh, I wonder if I could meet any cute boys? Though I heard Bambi had a chance encounter with a cute boy, and didn't get any details, talk about slacking." A sultry voice called, flowing fingers through her long hair.
"Phew, I'm glad we can finally take a break. Though here huh? Its supposed to be filled with spiritual power this town isn't it? What does it mean that there's spiritual power here?" A calm girl spoke softly.
"It means people that possess strong powers, that's what I heard." A dry monotone voice carried over.
"I hope there are, I could turn people into cute zombies~ Then we can begin the march of the zombie-chan's~ Hey, does anyone want to volunteer to become a zombie~? I'll make you a good deal~" A cheerful voice sang out, swaying side to side.
The five, Bambietta, Candice, Meninas, Liltotto, and finally Giselle, wearing Japanese school girl uniforms, and heart shaped belt buckles, all walk closer, and adopt wide grins on their faces, save for Liltotto who simply took out a piece of candy and began eating it.
"By the way, just sensed a Shinigami." Dropping the realization on them, Liltotto's words caused them all to widen their eyes.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Candice and Bambietta yell out at the same time.
Liltotto sighs, rubbing her ears. "Keep the noise down, it isn't like I just said you're dying. But yeah, there's a Shinigami here, at least it isn't a Captain from what I can tell."
Bambietta flung her head back, and she looked aggressively towards the others.
"If this Shinigami wishes to stick around, then we'll just have to show them the power of the Quincy, especially with our new powers, lets go and show them the devastating powers that we have!"
Candice and Meninas yelled "Yeah!" while Giselle played with her hair antennae and Liltotto furrowed her eyebrows, wondering what was going on with them.
Bambietta then folds her arms, looking out over the city.
"Okay, here's what we're going to do. Meni, you and I are gonna go and find the Shinigami, and see what we're dealing with. Gigi, you and Lil take the chance to scout out any potential problems in the city, those with high spiritual powers. And finally, Candy, we need a base of operations, you've got the funds we need, lets take this advantage to finally get a step ahead of the others. Then surely we'll be recognized by His Majesty, and finally get to meet and stand beside him."
Liltotto furrows her brows. "While we're doing all that, what are our actual goals? We weren't told that much, beyond coming here."
"To fulfil the desires of His Majesty, why else would we come to a backwater town like this?" Bambietta asks with strained eyes.
"I'd hardly call this place a backwater town, but okay." Bambietta sweat dropped. "We were sent here for a reason, but we weren't told why. So how can we achieve any goals if we don't know what they are? Even His Majesty was being so vague, keeping to the shadows..."
Bambietta exhaled. "His Majesty had a reason to send us, we can't let him down now. So lets do what we can, maybe this is a test to see if we're worthy of becoming apart of his elites and to keep these powers we were bestowed, so I'm guessing whatever we're supposed to do, is going to become relevant very soon. So, for now, we've just have to go off instincts."
"And that's to fight with the Shinigami?" Liltotto asks, raising a brow.
Bambietta shrugged. "I'm not gonna kill them, I'm just going to introduce myself, and make it painfully obvious that we're here to stay. Besides, we're Quincy, we're powerful, and now we've got amazing abilities, so lets show the Shinigami, the world that we aren't to be messed with!"
Liltotto shakes her head. "Don't cause any unnecessary scenes. Yes, we've got new powers, but we're new to them, and we don't want to be stupid. Whatever you do, don't lose your temper."
Bambietta sighed. "Alright, I'll speak with this Shinigami, and see what's gonna happen."
Liltotto didn't know if this would end well.
Meninas tilts her neck to the side. "Can we get some food first though? I'm hungry."
Bambietta's stomach rumbled, an embarrassed look appearing on her face. "Okay, first we'll get food, then we'll declare ourselves to the Shinigami!"
Liltotto's face relaxes. "Finally, a sensible suggestion. Alright ladies, lets move out, and Bambi, don't be your crazy self when confronting the Shinigami."
Giggles came from the girls though Bambietta scowled, as they stepped foot into the town.
Rukia was staying in the house that Orihime had, and even though three days now had gone by, she was learning much about her dynamic with Zensuke.
The fact that Zensuke had this friendship with a human and she couldn't see many knowing about it, astounded her, though she understood why, as if Orihime got too involved, it could bring her danger.
In the early afternoon, Rukia was facing off against a Hollow, while Orihime was stationed nearby, wielding some strange looking items.
"Haaaaaah!" Rukia swung out her blade, and cleaves through the Hollows mask, and cuts them down.
"Wow you did it~" Orihime cheered.
Rukia exhaled, nods, and moves to the side of Orihime.
Rukia's eyes look towards Orihime's items she held on her, curiously looking over them. "What're those items?"
"Ooh, these? Zen-chan gave me them, saying they were anti-Hollow equipment, in case I ever needed to get away from them. Though he said for the bigger scarier ones, I should just contact him, and he'll come right away~ Plus, he gave me these charms, and he said it would make most Hollows unable to detect me, and that only the tougher ones would be able to sense me."
Rukia had so many questions, and she had asked some already, seeing Orihime and Zensuke were quite good friends. She also learned Zensuke was able to stomach Orihime's foods, something Rukia couldn't do herself.
"So, how long have you and Captain…I mean, Zensuke known one another?"
"Erm…I'd say, its been about…nearly a year now? Yes, nearly a year~"
Rukia was bewildered. "A year, huh?"
Orihime smiled softly. "Yeah, I was in a bad situation at the time, but Zen-chan saved me. He stopped a Hollow coming after me. Though, when I say Hollow…it was actually my brother, Sora."
Rukia's heart ached. "I'm sorry to hear that."
Orihime thanked her. "Zen-chan told me, that Hollows who get slain with those swords…erm…Zanpakuto, they are purified, and sent to the Soul Society."
Rukia slowly nods. "Why did he tell you? Usually we don't interact with humans, but on rare occasions, you have spiritual power...so maybe that's why..."
"He said I was special." Orihime revealed.
Rukia crinkles her brow. "Special, how?"
"He told me, I belonged to a section of humans, that have spiritual powers. He speaks funny whenever he goes into what I call, science mode, but he told me that since the meeting with my brother, my spiritual powers were being jolted, and are growing~"
"Right, so you're a spiritually aware human. Do you, have any powers? I mean, beyond seeing ghosts."
"He said I hadn't awakened my power, yet had the potential to do so~ If I did have powers, I'd love to help out Zen-chan. He's done a lot for me, I even got to say goodbye to my brother. Though I'd love to see him in person, I couldn't ask Zen-chan for more than he's already done for me, he let me have a goodbye with Sora, he's been so kind to me."
Rukia smiled kindly, and was glad to hear they had such a good friendship.
As they talked, Rukia suddenly felt a feeling running through her being.
She looked around the street, seeing it empty.
Her eyes shift to a nearby building, and sees Bambietta sat on top of it, together with Meninas.
Bambietta's grin grows upon seeing Rukia. "Well, you sensed me, when I went through the trouble of trying to hide. You must be good at sensing."
"I was trained to always keep my wits about me, I thought I felt something flickering, and here you are. Though, I don't know who you are." Rukia turned to Orihime, who looked to the sky too. "Do you know who she is? Another one of you?"
"Erm, I've never met her before." Orihime replies, curiously watching Bambietta.
Rukia slowly nods, turning back to Bambietta. "So, can I help you?"
"You can help by staying still, as I shoot and explode you from the inside~"
Hearing Bambietta's gleeful smile and equally gleeful tone, Rukia held her sword tightly, as Bambietta tapped her heart shaped belt buckle, and summons her bow. She pulls back the Reishi bow, with a cartoonish looking little bomb appeared as the arrowhead.
"That isn't funny."
"When were you under the impression I was trying to be funny? Little Shinigami, this is a Quincy town now, I'm giving you the chance to leave, or I'll punch you full of holes~"
Rukia grips her blade tightly, while Orihime's face looks on with worry, seeing the sadistic grin working its way onto Bambietta's face, Meninas noting that despite what Liltotto said, it seemed Bambietta's anger for the Shinigami was beginning to come through.
Meanwhile, in Squad 12's Labs, it was just another day for the group, working on their usual business. Zensuke sails through the lab, and checked on the various people, seeing how the experiments were going, approving experiments when people asked about them, and recalling what he saw the previous evening, Zensuke went to Mayuri.
"So, I noticed the notes I left on my desk were in a different position this morning." Zensuke mused, as he looked to Mayuri. "Did you read them?"
"No Captain, why would I want to do that? Maybe someone moved them by mistake." Mayuri said it dismissively.
But Nemu who was close by, looked on, and tilts her neck. "Captain, I can see that Mayuri-sama is attempting to deceive you-"
"Nemu!" Mayuri yelled in defiance. "I never taught you to speak up this much!"
"Correct, Mayuri-sama. However, under the tutelage of Zensuke-sama, I have been permitted to pursue my own ambitions, and voice my opinions when I believe is necessary."
Mayuri stroked his chin with intrigue, while Zensuke noticed the time.
"Looks like its getting to that time, Nemu-san could you round up all the new recruits for me? I've just finished reading everyone's notes on them, and I'd like to help them develop more, with the right instructor in the labs."
"Yes Captain." Nemu bowed, and walked around the labs.
Zensuke thanked her with a smile, while Mayuri pulls closer.
"Nemu's speaking up more. In fact, I've noticed more changes over time."
"She's coming out of her shell more, I think that its best to encourage that, don't you?" Zensuke asked.
Mayuri sighed dramatically. "Yes, very well. As long as she does her other duties."
"You should be proud of her, Nemu-sans incredible."
Mayuri turned his head, Zensuke wanted to believe he probably was proud of Nemu, he just didn't want to say it aloud.
Nemu then approached them. "Captain, everyone's ready."
"Excellent, then lets get the show on the road." Zensuke moved to the middle of the lab, and looked at the fresh faces of the young scientists around. "Good day everyone~ Now that you're all settled in, I think its time we begin helping you all find your paths..."
Nemu was stood beside Zensuke, and was acting quite like his assistant as he taught the newbies about what their current experiments were, what they hoped to achieve, and went around the room to see what they wished to expand upon while they were in Squad 12, since Zensuke already had read the notes he received from the academy, and what fields they excelled in already and wished to find out what their passions were, and how to expand on it.
Mayuri looked on, it wasn't something that he'd do, but he could understand why it was done.
"So, while you're here, I'd encourage you to…" As Zensuke spoke, he saw his phone beeping.
He looked at it, and saw it was Orihime.
Mentally cursing "Something must've happened, yet Rukia-chan's charm hasn't activated yet, still I better check on the safe side." he turned to the others.
"Sorry, I just need to step out. Mayu…" Zensuke paused, seeing Mayuri's scary grin, so he turned to Nemu, deciding that would be for the best. "Nemu-san, can you gather all the info for me? I'll review it later."
Mayuri twitched an eyebrow, while Nemu dutifully nods. "Yes Captain."
"Thanks, be back soon." Zensuke salutes and takes off.
Mayuri quickly darts for the exit to follow him.
But when he got outside, he saw a fake Zensuke moving to the left, while the real one hid in the shadows.
He saw Mayuri smirk, and take off after the fake Zensuke, while Zensuke chuckles in amusement, and takes off for the Human World.
Meanwhile, back in the Human World, Rukia and Orihime faced down Bambietta, and Meninas.
Orihime felt the tension in the air, knowing Bambietta wasn't going to simply let them walk away, so she took out her phone, and sends an SOS towards Zensuke, believing right now that would be the best way to go about it.
Bambietta ignored it, despite seeing it, and looked over Rukia. "Come on Shinigami, give up the game, and walk away from this place. You can go home, and forget about Karakura Town, you can tell your fellow Shinigami the same thing."
Rukia furrows her eyebrows. "I can't do that, I was assigned to the protection of this town. Besides, you didn't even tell me what's going on, why you're trying to fight with me. I don't want to fight you. And you mentioned something about a Quincy? I don't even know what that is."
Bambietta's eyes sharpen considerably when hearing that. "You don't know what we are huh? How about a demonstration!"
She punches the building she was on, breaking off a tile, and infused her Reishi into it, then launches it at Rukia.
"What the…" Rukia tries to bat it away, not sure what it was.
But as her sword hit it, she saw the tile detonate in a violent explosion.
She gasped, and thought she'd be caught up in it…
But the charm Zensuke gave her activated, generating a force field around her, and Orihime, protecting them.
Rukia's bewildered eyes shift to the charm, and mumble "Nice charm, thanks Captain." and turns her eyes skyward, seeing Bambietta once the dust clears, and notices the disappearing barrier around them.
"Eh? You threw up a barrier? I didn't sense that. Well whatever, I guess I'll just have a little fun with you! This town belongs to us Quincy, you're getting in the way. I'm trying to give you an out, I can't see why you'd want to face me!"
Rukia looks to Orihime. "Get to a safe place. I'll deal with her."
Orihime regretted she couldn't help, but nods regardless, and takes off running.
"Oh, the Shinigami care about the little humans~ How cute are you~?" Bambietta mocked with a childish tone.
"I seem to care more than you do, you could've caught that girl up in an explosion. And what's more, I don't understand why you're fighting me. Just calm down, and let me understand where this is coming from."
"Understand nothing you freak." Bambietta said bitterly as if she had just eaten a bug.
Rukia's mouth hung open. "Did you just call me a freak?"
Bambietta's superior smirk shines on her face. "You heard-"
"That wasn't nice Bambi." Meninas cut in.
Bambietta sighed, turning to Meninas. "Meni, not now."
"Choose your words more carefully. At least you didn't call her a bitch. She might not know you're just used to being so crass in front of others."
Bambietta grins "Fine, I'll choose them when she's beaten by me." turning her arrow onto Rukia.
"We can sort this out, and deal with it without violence." Rukia clutched her sword.
"Not gonna stop, so fight me. Show me mighty Shinigami, then I'll thrash you, and show you the power of a Quincy." Bambietta baited as her arrow shot rapidly at Rukia.
Not knowing it this would explode, Rukia avoids it by the skin of her teeth, noting the speed of the arrow, and watches the ground where her arrow stabbed into, but unlike the tile, the arrow didn't explode at all.
So Rukia watched as Bambietta pulls back the bow string, firing off a number of arrows for the girl.
Recalling her training, Rukia propels forward, and begins slashing the arrows out of the air.
Approaching Bambietta wasn't something the girl liked, so Bambietta grabs another tile, infuses her Reishi into it, and throws it at the incoming Rukia.
But Rukia this time takes to the sky, propelling herself up, avoiding the explosion, where Bambietta already launched another arrow up to the air, sailing fast and came for Rukia's upper body, aimed for her chest.
"Aaah!" Rukia managed to barely move her blade in the way to intercept, feeling that this girl was stronger than her looks suggested, so she picked it up a notch, and aims her blade forward, slashing to propel the arrows away.
But Bambietta's arrow barrage came faster than she thought, so Rukia leaps down to the ground, stopping mid air, noticing Bambietta was following after her, so she thought on what would be good to use here.
That's when a Kido came to mind. "Hado 33, Sokatsui!"
Launching a wave of blue energy at the opponent, he swept through the few arrows that Bambietta launched her way, and came at her like a missile.
"This is interesting, that's Kido right? But I can output more than one arrow at a time." Bambietta simply grins, as she takes her bow, pulling back the string, and launches a myriad of arrows at the incoming wave, hitting them dead on centre, and caused the wave of energy to explode before her, saving her from being hit.
Rukia feels the air swiftly rushing around her, as she aims her hand forward, noticing Bambietta preparing to fire off another volley of arrows, so she cups her hands together, and builds her Reiatsu up.
Bambietta desummons her bow, and instead summons a Reishi sword that was curved.
"Fine, you wanna go? I'll not give you time!" Bambietta fired herself off to the sky, and clashed with Rukia, their swords making sparks between them, Rukia gritting her teeth as Bambietta pushed against her, firing off a bomb.
But like before, the barrier protected Rukia.
Rukia looked down, seeing the road already in tatters because of Bambietta's bomb.
She was thankful no one else was around, but if people had been, then it would be disastrous.
"Seriously, how the hell are you doing that?"
"That's a secret."
Bambietta smirks, and rams her Reishi into the barrier.
"This is my secret, I'll tell you, not many in my people have powers like this, I was one of the lucky ones to receive such a divine gift. Not to boast, but I'd say my powers pretty explosive!"
The barrier begins to shine moments later, and unleashes a devastating explosion.
However, the explosion doesn't go inside like Bambietta had planned, the barriers explosion was reserved for the outside only, as Bambietta skids back, seeing that Rukia was unharmed by such an attack.
"Okay, that barriers annoying. But it isn't indestructible, though strong, so I'll take it up a notch, and show you some power!" Bambietta's annoyed eyes fell upon her, allowing two Reishi spheres to appear between her fingers.
"Sorry, can't let you destroy her."
A new voice called out.
Bambietta and Meninas widened their eyes, they hadn't even sensed the approach.
Rukia's relieved eyes go to see Zensuke sat on a rooftop, together with Orihime.
"Captain…" Rukia's voice wasn't heard by the others, but the relief she had he had shown up couldn't be understated.
Meninas looked over Zensuke, and her teeth clench down on her lower lip, thinking "He's so cute." and offered a little wave to Zensuke, who in turn did the same thing right back kindly.
Bambietta looks him over, furrowing her eyebrows as she examines his hair, and his eyes, then his face as a whole.
"Didn't I see you in a coffee shop?" Bambietta asks, uncertainty in her voice.
Zensuke waved. "Reunions, and its only been a few days. What're you doing in Karakura Town, attacking Rukia-chan?"
Bambietta scoffed. "What's it to you? Shinigami boy."
Zensuke blinks at her defiance, then an amused smile works on his face. "You see, that girl is my friend, and I don't want to have to put a stop to you. But if you do attack her again, I will stop you."
Bambietta grins, and summons an orb of Reishi.
She tosses it at Zensuke, who summons a barrier.
The Reishi goes into the barrier, and moments later, detonated.
"Have that." Bambietta said with pride. But when the smoke cleared, it showed Zensuke and Orihime were in tact. "You too?"
"Kido barriers, gotta love them~" Zensuke replied with a chipper smile.
Bambietta growls, and thrusts a hand to Meninas. "Meni, show him your strength."
"I'll show him more if he likes~" Zensuke blinks as Meninas winks at him.
Orihime and Rukia both frown while Bambietta looks bewildered, and disgusted at the same time.
"Ugh, he's a Shinigami. Don't flirt with him."
"But he's cute though."
"I don't care if he's Adonis himself, don't flirt with the Shinigami! And don't turn into Candy, she's the big flirt, you're the innocent one!"
"Okay, I'll get him. Calm down. Though, my hearts not really in it, but I'll do it for you Bambi." Meninas smiles with a sigh, and jumps off the roof.
She lands on the floor hard, and caused the earth to begin shattering.
Zensuke watched as Meninas digs her fists into the earth, and he soon sees her ripping out a huge chunk of the road, looking around the size of a house, holding it up with one hand, her eyes meeting Zensuke's own.
"Geez, you're like Supergirl or something~" Zensuke compliments.
Meninas giggles sweetly, and reels her hand back, the large stone followed her movements.
"Sorry, but Bambi wants you gone." Meninas launches the large stone at Zensuke and Orihime.
Orihime gets close to Zensuke, who in turn puts a kind arm around her, and holds her close, as he takes out his sword.
Faster than their eyes could see, he vanishes from sight, and a moment later, the huge chunk of stone was sliced apart into very finely cut pieces, no larger than a pebble.
Bambietta blinks in shock. "Don't just stand there twiddling your thumbs, get him!"
Yelling to Meninas, the pink haired girl sighed, and jumped at Zensuke.
Cutting through the rubble still falling, Zensuke sails to the right as Meninas comes in with a straight forward punch, avoiding the direct hit.
Meninas tightens her fists, and throws punch after punch at Zensuke, who weaves through them elegantly.
Bambietta scowls, while Rukia smiles. "What're you smiling for?!"
"Its just, if you think he's going to be beaten by that, think again." Rukia states her truth, showing her faith in Zensuke. "My brother acknowledges Captain Zensuke's strength, and he doesn't acknowledge things like that lightly. So now will you stop?"
"Did you say Captain? You are joking!" Bambietta snarled.
"Check his haori." Rukia in turn fired back.
Zensuke gives the peace sign, as Meninas put her hands together, into the shape of a diamond, and called "Diamond Push!" readying to thrust it into his body.
Fortunately, he activated a barrier, blocking off the spell, causing it to shatter under her strength, something he had to commend her for, as he used the confusion of the shattering barrier to get behind Meninas.
His blade held at her neck, stopping her movements all together.
"Sorry, can't let you punch me like that. You've got some crazy strength~"
Meninas smiled, but then let out an apologetic breath to Bambietta. "Sorry, I was caught."
"Let go of her asshole!" Bambietta's eyes blazed, and she raised her hand to set off an explosion.
Zensuke held out his hand. "Don't do that, I just wanna talk, Quincy girl. Like these strange abilities, being able to fire off bombs, and also superhuman strength. Do the other three with you have the similar powers?"
Bambietta's face crumbles. "Three? What other three?"
Bambietta's attempts at feigning innocence didn't get by Zensuke.
"I sensed during my way here, three other signatures, three other Quincy's. Look, I don't want to fight the Quincy, I think you've been through it enough, but I can't let Rukia-chan there get hurt either, so it has to stop now, okay?"
Bambietta didn't accept it, and her face looked the epitome of rage.
"In your dreams!" Getting ready to fire from her hands, Bambietta held her hands up.
But before she could think, he vanished in speeds she was shocked by, so she started looking for him.
However, while doing that, she heard a "Aah!" behind her.
When she turned to check on Meninas, she was suddenly bombarded by the girl herself, as thick energy chains flow around them, tying the two together so they couldn't escape so easily, Meninas's head rolling, while Bambietta grimaced.
"What the hell!?"
"Bakudo 63, Sajo Sabaku." Zensuke explained.
"I didn't hear you call anything until after we were tied up. Isn't that what that Kido crap does? You say a chant, and then you fire off your attacks, right?" Bambietta demands.
"You just did hear me call out its name. If you're good enough, you can speak it after you've released the spell. And if you're really good, you don't even need the chant."
Bambietta snarled. "And you are, are you? That girl said you're a Captain, is that true?"
Zensuke gets Orihime, and nods. "Yes, I am Captain of Squad 12. Zensuke Urahara. At your service."
Bambietta and Meninas's faces fall considerably as Zensuke turned around, and pointed to the symbol on the back of his Captain's haori.
"He's a Captain?!" Bambietta yells out defiantly. "Shit…damn, the white haori…ugh, I'm not on my A game today…"
Zensuke approached Bambietta. "I have to admit, that strange ability was intriguing. I analyzed it when you fired it at me, and it seems you're infusing your Reishi into different things, and they're exploding, correct?"
Bambietta was shocked he worked it out. "You're smart."
"I'm a scientist, deductions, and fact findings are apart of my repertoire. I'm curious of these abilities, normal Quincy tend to not have them. Though, I do recall researching in the past a unique kind of myth, there was someone who could gift Quincy strange, abnormal abilities, would that be what's happening here?"
Bambietta huffed, but Meninas giggled. "He's good Bambi~"
Zensuke's eyes lit up like stars. "I'd love to study you girls~ How about becoming research buddies~?"
Bambietta's face turned a little red. "R-Research buddies?!"
"Yeah, we could test the limit of your abilities together, I can see that you've not harnessed the full potential of your powers. Also, I happened to notice that you didn't use Blut, if I'm deducing your spiritual pressure correctly, you're Pure Quincy's, so you should have access to it since birth. May I ask why you're not using it? I know some tips for you if you'd want to use it~"
"How do you know so much about the Quincy's? Dissect them did you!?" Bambietta demands.
Zensuke winked. "Studied them in the past~ I'm not Mayuri-san, I'd never dissect innocent beings. I want to see beings evolve, grow, and reach potentials, but also be aware of the dangers of that as well. So, how about it? I can make the deal enticing~"
Meninas smiles. "How-"
"No Meni!" Bambietta rejected.
Meninas sighed, while Zensuke furrows his brows, thinking differently on how to approach the subject.
But Zensuke first turned to Orihime. "Hey Orihime-chan~"
"Hey Zen-chan~" Orihime hugged him tightly, and he did the same back.
"You okay? Not hurt?"
"Nope~ I'm okay, thank you for coming~"
"Always~" Zensuke looked to Rukia, checking her over. "You okay?"
"Yes, your charm worked a treat. Thank you."
Zensuke was glad to hear that.
He turned back to the Quincy girls.
"Alright, lets take a moment to calm ourselves. I don't want to hurt you, I'm sure Rukia-chan feels the same." Rukia nods slowly. "So, how can we work through this, to resolve this issue?"
Bambietta turned her neck away, while Meninas looks towards them. "Erm, we have a girl in our group called Liltotto who usually handles the bargains like this. Would it probably be best if you converse with her? She's more calm and level headed than Bambi is."
Bambietta stayed silent, though scowled when being indirectly called hot headed.
Zensuke glanced to Rukia, who in turn looked back.
Bambietta grins, and her explosive energy swarms around her.
Zensuke noticed, grabbing both Orihime and Rukia, and erected barriers around the area to protect them.
Exploding off the Kido spells, Bambietta stormed her eyes to Zensuke. "You are a Captain, then be known that if you come for us, we will-"
"If you threaten anyone or try to attack anyone again, I'll have to stop you. One chance, your name is, that girl called you Bambi?" Zensuke asked.
"Bambietta." The girl told him.
"I like Bambi-san~ But Bambietta-sans cool too~" Bambietta huffed, as Zensuke pulled in closer. "I don't know what your beef is, but Rukia-chan is innocent, you got anger in you, direct it to other things, not towards innocent people. But remember what I said, one chance Bambietta-san, don't go for innocent people. Can we agree on this?"
Bambietta pulls back, and nods. "...Yes, I can agree on that, but..."
"We can talk about anything you like, but lets keep this fight the only one. No blood has to be shed here, neither Quincy nor Shinigami."
Bambietta's eyes fall a little, realizing that he currently could take her, and the others and she might not be able to fulfil someone she called His Majesty's objectives, so she nodded in agreement, and she takes off with Meninas.
Rukia folds her arms, looking to Zensuke. "Captain, what should we do about this?"
"I'm not naive, so on the safe side, I'll have them monitored. If Soul Society learns of them...its best they don't, I'm sorry for asking such a thing of you to not report about them. I'll explain my reasons soon, but for the very short version, Quincy and Shinigami have bad blood and dark history between them. I want to change that if possible, but I am also prepared if things don't go our way."
Rukia nods, seeing the passion in his eyes. "I believe in your choices, Captain. You've always done the right thing for those innocent, and for those you care for. Though, can we come to a peaceful solution with them?"
Zensuke shrugs. "That girl mentioned a Liltotto-san, it seems this girl is more reasonable. Its probably best to try and work out what's going on here. If they do try and fight again, then I'll stop them. But a peaceful path maybe possible."
Rukia inclines in agreement, then she dipped her head. "I'm sorry Captain."
Zensuke raises a brow. "What for?"
"This is my town currently, yet I needed your assistance."
Zensuke's hands reach out, and gently, comfortingly offers his kindest smile.
"Hey, don't worry about that. We all need help sometimes. There's no shame in needing help. I remember my first Captain saying that to me, and she was a wise, if not a bit wild, kind of woman, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Don't beat yourself up, those girls have Captain levels of Reiatsu, it seems their skills aren't on that level yet. Even then, what powers they do have and how they used them could take down a good number of Shinigami, I wonder how these strange powers came to be. But most of all, I'm just glad you're both safe."
Rukia's face tinges red as did Orihime's.
But then Bambietta spoke of the term 'Quincy' which came to the forefront of Rukia's mind, making her wonder what was going on.
"Captain, if you don't mind me asking, what is a Quincy? I heard you mention it, and that girl announced herself as one."
Orihime nods, chiming in. "She also said something about this town now belonging to the Quincy."
Zensuke rubs his chin in thought. "She said that huh?"
"Yup, she was saying some strange things, but she seemed adamant about this being her town."
Zensuke strokes his chin in thought. "The Quincy…well, its a bit of a story, why don't we head back to Orihime-chan's, so we can discuss this properly? I'll tell you both the tale of the Quincy, and what a Quincy is, and hopefully come to some sort of solution about all this."
Rukia inclines, wondering more about this history of the Quincy, and why Bambietta did what she did, hoping to come to some kind of solution.
"What did you think about them Captain?"
Zensuke furrows his brows. "Granted, we've only had one interaction, and not everything can be discerned from one interaction. But when they fought, from that pink haired girl, I didn't really sense malice. From the other, I sensed anger. But I wouldn't say evil. Why do you ask?"
"Its just, during our fight, I got a feeling something else was going on inside her."
Zensuke nods. "That's what we can hope to find out. If they have to be stopped, then we can go down that route. But, I'd prefer not to do it, maybe we can come to an understanding, and live peacefully. Shinigami and Quincy didn't get to do that in the past, for a variety of reasons. But maybe now, we can build that bridge. Maybe it'll work, maybe it wont, but we can at least try. And if we can't build that bridge, then we'll stop them from hurting others."
Rukia smiled, and thought fondly.
Its one of the traits she liked about Zensuke.
He wasn't an idiot, he knew if they were truly a danger, then he'd stop them, yet he was also someone who looked for peaceful ways to deal with situations if he could, yet never was afraid to fight if it meant protecting others, and stopping threats.
As they began leaving, Zensuke looked across the city, adopting a fond smile, and walked away together with the others.
Meanwhile, Bambietta and Meninas meet up with the others at the location Candice found them.
Bambietta's rage grew, as Candice called. "What's going on?"
Bambietta stormed by her, vanishing into a different room all together.
Meninas looks to the others, and begins explaining what happened.
Liltotto slapped herself in the head. "She summoned a Captain here?"
"Yup, a cute one too~ He was strong, he stopped me~"
Giselle grins like a Cheshire cat. "Would he look good as a zombie~?"
Meninas shrugs. "Maybe."
Liltotto rolls her eyes. "A Captain here is not good. I told the fool not to confront the Shinigami, you're lucky they let you go. I knew she'd not control her anger."
"So, who was this boy huh~?" Candice grins.
"No, you can't seduce him." Giselle shut her down.
Candice's hands lit up with electricity. "I'll do what I want!"
Liltotto rolled her eyes. "Geez…who was it Meni?"
"His name huh…ooh, yeah. That girl called him Zensuke Urahara~"
As soon as the name left Meninas's lips, Liltotto looked visibly stunned.
Giselle bites her lower lip.
Candice looked lost on why those two suddenly went quiet.
"What's going on?"
"Okay, so it was him... I'm going out. Be back later, try not to screw with the Shinigami while I'm away." Liltotto takes up to her feet, and begins for the door.
Giselle calls "I'm coming too~" and runs after her.
Candice turns to Meninas with confusion. "What the hell's gotten into them?"
"Maybe they want to steal him…" Meninas sighs.
Candice furrows her brows. "That makes no sense, they couldn't have met a Captain, could they?"
Meninas shrugged. "Whoever he is, it seems like he's someone they know of. Should we know him?"
"I dunno, that name sounds sorta familiar, but I can't recall where I've heard it. Maybe the data we received from the others, they had some info on Captain's huh." Candice seemed uncertain.
Meninas wondered what was going on, while Bambietta, who was listening in, clenched her teeth together and put her head back, angry at herself for letting her emotions get the better of her, as originally, she didn't intend to fight the Shinigami, only scare them, but her emotions took over, and she released it in a bad way, she recalled Liltotto saying they were lucky to have gotten away, and she felt it in her core, yet she also thought of her friends, and how she wanted to fight to keep them together.
"Damn it...for His Majesty...then finally we could...damn it."
Regretting her choice of the moment, she walked up the stairs to plan her next move.
Once she was outside, in a courtyard type area, Liltotto's eyes went to the sky, while Giselle came up behind her.
"Hey, hey, hey~"
"Talk later." Liltotto replied, keeping her eyes on the sky.
Giselle adopts a goofy face. "You don't wanna talk~? Why? Recognize the name did you?"
"The others didn't, they should've done. But you did, didn't you?" Liltotto reasoned.
"I did~" Giselle happily spoke.
"Then, we have to go and meet up with Zensuke Urahara. We have to come to a peaceful solution right now...His Majesty asked us to occupy this town, but he never told us about the potential of Zensuke Urahara showing up...something's going on here, and I want to find out what it is."
"Yup, I agree. This is very strange situation, lets go and find out~" Giselle grins, and gives two thumbs up.
Liltotto inhales deeply, mumbling "Zensuke…Urahara…" and begins walking off, with Giselle following after her.
Meanwhile, Zensuke, Rukia, and Orihime walked away from the scene, once fixing the area so the humans didn't question what was going on.
Zensuke and Orihime were chatting away happily, eating a strange looking parfait between them.
"Hmmm, this has astounding flavours Orihime-chan~ Who knew that curry bean paste would go so well on a parfait~?"
Rukia grimaced, while Orihime's smile shined brightly. "I'm glad that you like it, Zen-chan~"
Rukia didn't know how Zensuke was eating that, as for the last three days, Rukia had seen Orihime putting some strange food groups together.
"Aah, its lovely to be in the Human World, I don't always have to be on the lookout for being attacked~"
Rukia stifles a laugh, while Orihime giggles. "Poor Zen-chan, I was thinking of making one of our favourites tonight~ Can you stay that long~?"
"Wild horses couldn't keep me away Orihime-chan~"
Rukia found how Zensuke could be so calm despite what happened, to be quite impressive, yet it also instilled a calmness in her as well.
However, as they walked, Zensuke paused and his eyes shift through the sky.
Due to Zensuke using the technology to hide their spiritual pressure, they were pretty hidden.
Although he couldn't see who it was using his eyes since they were a distance away, he felt it as clear as day, a stones throw away.
Someone he hadn't seen in sometime.
Two people in fact.
"Father...Yoruichi-san..." Zensuke murmured, then exhaled.
Orihime cocks her head. "What did you say Zen-chan?"
Zensuke waved his hands. "Ooh nothing to worry about~ Just noting something for later~ Lets head home, Quincy lessons, and food here we come!"
"Yay!" Orihime cheered.
Rukia silently smiled, as the three walked off together to discuss more about the Quincy, and what their next moves were.

So this chapter had the formal introduction to the Bambi's!
With Bambietta and Meninas making a beeline for Rukia, though after Orihime's SOS, and with help from Zensuke's charm from the previous chapter, Rukia managed to hold on long enough for Zensuke to show up, and put a stop to the fighting.
It seems Liltotto recognizes Zensuke's name, as does Giselle, lets see what happens with that soon~
Now, onto the Zanpakuto! First, thanks to everyone that's voted! Only a few votes between so super close, but the winner is...
Solo Darkness!
As I said, super close, but thanks to everyone that voted, though with regards to light, I did think maybe his Shunko could be light, mixing aspects of a Shingami together, the darkness of his Zanpakuto, the light of his Kido, the mixing of Zensuke's talents together could be fun~ And considering he is Kisuke's son, and he's got some fun skills with his darkness and its special abilities.
As for the name of his sword, I have a few in mind along with some that people have suggested, like Kurohime, meaning Black Princess, Kagehime, meaning Shadow Princess, Yamihime, meaning Darkness Princess, Tsukihime, meaning Moon Princess, but suggestions, always welcome~
And to the duel spirits, I can't spoil yet without explaining his background which will begin being explored quite soon, but he'll have two spirits inside of him, his Zanpakuto, and something else, so Zensuke could be a duel wielder~
