Fallen Angels Arc Chapter 19: Church Service
Irina, Raynare, and Asia on Raynare's back fly to the abandoned church as fast as they could. Irina spares glances at Raynare a few times with a skeptical look. Raynare notices and turns to her.
"What do I have something on my face? Why do you keep side eyeing me?" Raynare asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Hrm, can I trust you in this? How do I know you aren't leading us into a trap or about to betray us?" Irina asked with a suspicious pout.
Raynare rolled her eyes at the questioning. "If I wanted to betray you, I would've attacked and killed you the second we left Jiro's sight, wouldn't I? Besides, you heard all about my past and insecurities, and we were chatting amicably before this whole mess started, didn't we? I see no reason not to trust me." Raynare said matter-of-factly.
Irina's pout faded slightly. "I guess you make a valid argument. I generally just worry a lot, you know, about those who pose a threat to those I care about, especially Jiro-kun." Irina said, looking forward.
Raynare smirked at her response. "You're quite protective of Jiro, aren't you? You must really love him a lot. Wonder how he feels." Raynare said teasingly, making Asia chuckle as Irina blushed furiously.
"N-NO WE'RE NOTHING LIKE THAT, WE'RE JUST CHILDHOOD FRIENDS WHO LIVE TOGETHER!" Irina yelled, frantically. Raynare and Asia chuckled again at her response.
"Hmph, yeah, sure. Anyway, if it helps you trust me more, I'll tell you that there are a few more fallen angels and exorcists who stayed behind to guard Lullaby." Raynare said as Irina listened, turning more serious as Raynare continued.
"Me, Kalawarner, Dohnaseek, and Milttelt were put in charge of the whole operation, as I said earlier, but we were mostly leading the fallen angels in our group. A fifth person was leading the stray exorcists. He may be just a human, but he's strong in his own right, if not gross. His name is Freed Sellzen." Raynare said, making Irina freeze.
The moment she heard that name, she jolted and almost swerved in mid-air as she flew. "D-did you just say... Freed Sellzen?!" Irina asked, shakily, her eyes wide, almost in disbelief.
"Yes, I did. He's a real pervy scumbag. Hm, are you okay?" Raynare asked, noticing Irina's shocked expression.
Irina jolted once again and regained her composure as best she could. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. I'm just surprised to hear that name here of all places." Irina said, believing now may not be the time to talk about her history with Freed.
"I guess he does have a certain reputation," Raynare said, shivering just at the thought of what he was known for. Irina then turned back to Raynare with a determined look.
"When we get there, can you please leave him to me?" Irina said, making Raynare look at her in surprise at her request.
"I know this is out of nowhere, but you can fight the others all you want; I just want to deal with Freed, please." Irina said, her expression turning almost pleading.
Raynare nods and smirks mischievously. "Fine, more fun for me anyway," Raynare said, making Irina breathe a sigh of relief.
Asia, who had been silent the whole time on Raynare's back, speaks up as she looks down and narrows her eyes. "Sorry to interrupt, but, there's the abandoned church down there?" Asia said, pointing ahead, downwards.
Irina and Raynare looked at where Asia was pointing. "Yeah, that's it," Irina and Raynare said in unison.
They descended, landed on the ground, and ran inside. Freed who was "enjoying himself" while looking at one of his "prized magazines", hears the sound of footstep and quickly composes himself, fixing his pants and hiding his magazines.
Freed stands up from the pew and turns to those who interrupted his fun in irritation. "WHO THE HELL GOES THERE?! ARE YOU DAMN CROWS BACK- RAYNARE?! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?! EVERYONE'S LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR YOU!! AND GOOD YOU BROUGHT THE NUN TOO!!" Freed yelled as he noticed Raynare and Asia standing by the doors.
"F-Freed-kun...?" Irina said as she and him locked eyes.
"...Irina...? Freed said, his eyes widening in shock, once he realized who he was looking at next to Raynare and Asia."
Raynare and Asia looked at each other curiously. Before they could ask how they knew each other, a large group of fallen angels and stray exorcists came upstairs. "Father Freed, what's wrong? We heard you yell... Lady Raynare? You've returned? And you brought the nun?" One of the stray exorcists said as he noticed Raynare.
The fallen angels in the group then looked at Irina, and their eyes widened. "Hold on, what the hell is a pure angel doing here?! What's the meaning of this, Raynare?!" A male fallen asked in shock.
"Hmph, let's just say I'm resigning from your little group, here and now." Raynare said, defiantly as she summoned two purple light swords. Irina did the same, although she summoned one golden light sword.
The fallen angels, the stray exorcists, and even Freed looked at her in shock before glaring at her. "Oh, is that so? Gotta admit this is shocking to hear from you suddenly, but I don't think Lord Kokabiel would mind if we killed a traitor." A female fallen angel said as they all summoned their light weapons, the exorcists pulled out their light weapons, and Freed pulled out a light sword and gun.
"Sounds good to me. I can't wait to kill you and have a good time with your sexy dead body." Freed said, licking his lips as he aimed his gun at Raynare.
Before Freed could fire his gun, Irina flew towards him at great speed. She drew her light spears back as Freed reacted in time to block. They clashed, blades and glared at each other in a blade lock.
"You will do no such thing, Freed-kun." Irina said, her voice determined.
"Oh? And are you gonna stop me, Ir-i-na?" Freed said in a mocking tone.
"Get back on my back, Asia. Don't worry; I won't let them hurt you. And if I or you get hurt, you can heal us, right?" Raynare said, kneeling slightly for Asia to climb back on, which she did while nodding, her expression filled with trust towards Raynare.
"Well, then let's see how long you can protect that nun and yourself, Raynare! We're going to rip that sacred gear out of her right after we kill you!" A male fallen angel said as the fallen angels and exorcists charged towards Raynare, weapons ready.
Raynare smirks and takes a fighting stance, ready for some fun.
The student council flew through the air, in pursuit of their fallen angel adversaries, everyone headed towards the abandoned church. Rias and Akeno were behind Kalawarner, Kiba behind Dohnaseek, and Koneko behind Mittelt. Rias activated communication magic circles next to her servants' ears so she and Akeno could talk with Kiba and Koneko.
"Kiba, Koneko, am I to assume you were told by members of Jiro's gang to go to the abandoned church on the edge of town after fighting with a group of fallen angels?" Rias asked in a serious tone.
"You are correct, Rias. I'm chasing after who I think is one of their leaders right now, who's also going to the church." Kiba said, to which the others replied in unison, "So are we."
"The red fire punks told us to go to the church, but what the heck were they talking about when they said the crows had a flute that kills people?" Koneko asked in genuine confusion.
"I don't know, but they seemed really serious about it, so I don't think it was a joke." Akeno said, adding her two cents.
"Whatever it is, a flute or something else, if it poses a threat to the lives of innocents, we have to stop it no matter what." Rias said, to which the other three devils responded, "Right."
Rias cuts off the feed, and they continue their race to the abandoned church behind the fallen angels.
The group of fallen angels and exorcists tried their best at bringing down Raynare. However, Raynare, with Asia on her back, mowed down everyone who came at her without even taking a single strike or breaking a sweat. She proceeded to show all her opponents there why she was one of the four fallen put in charge of this mission.
"Don't tell me that's the best you can do. What happened to all that talk about killing a traitor and ripping out Asia's sacred gear?" Raynare asked, smiling smugly as she easily blocked and countered two fallen angels and two stray exorcists at the same time.
"Damn it, how is she so strong?! We should have strength in numbers; it's just one of her!" One of the fallen said as he struggled to get back to his feet.
"The answer is simple, darling; I'm simply too strong for you, and you're all simply too weak for me." Raynare said as she waved her light sword around mockingly.
The fallen angels and exorcists gritted their teeth in irritation at her cockiness and charged her once again.
Freed continually fired his gun at Irina, who easily deflected all the bullets with her light sword. "Give it up, Freed-kun. Even if those light bullets hit me, they might sting a bit, but they won't hurt me, so that gun is useless here." Irina said, as Freed kept shooting and eventually ran out of ammo.
"Ugh, you're right. Because of you and your heavenly presence or whatever." Freed said, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he threw the gun away and held up his light sword.
Freed then runs towards Irina at great speed, and they start clashing blades. "So anyway, it's been a hot minute. How ya been, hon?" Freed asked as they met in a blade lock.
"That's my line. What are you doing here, Freed-kun? Why are you working for the fallen angels?!" Irina asked as she broke the blade lock and they started clashing again.
"Huh, I'm just having some fun on my own accord. And what's it to you anyway? Don't tell me you forgot I was exiled from the church five years ago?" Freed said with a hint of annoyance as they clashed blades.
"Because you're my friend. Both Xenovia-chan and I have been worried about you, both before and after your exile, and we missed you." Irina said as they both jumped back.
"Tch, 'friend' huh? As if that word means anything to me anymore!" Freed said as he charged at Irina, his light sword drawn, aiming to slash her diagonally.
Irina, shocked by his words, reacted quickly to his attack and blocked it with ease, then swung her light sword in turn, pushing him back with great force and sending him crashing through several pews. Irina looked on in concern at what she had just done.
"Oh no, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Irina said, approaching him in worry.
Freed stands back up and grits his teeth. "Tch, I don't need your pity. It's just like before, ain't it? You and Xenovia were always better than me, weren't you?! Always stronger than me, always looking down on me, like you are now?!" Freed said, glaring at her.
Irina looked at him, shocked and hurt by his words. "What?! No, that's not true-" Irina stared, but Freed cut her off.
"You know what?! This isn't really my style, but if it means I don't have to look at you and your stupid heavenly face ever again, then screw it!" Freed said as he reached into his coat and pulled out Lullaby.
Irina shuddered as she looked at it and sensed its immense demonic power. Raynare, also sensing its power, knocked back the group of fallen angels and exorcists she was fighting with one swing and snapped her head towards the two.
"HEY IRINA, THAT'S LULLABY!! BOTH YOU AND ASIA COVER YOUR EARS AND BACK AWAY NOW!!" Raynare yelled in fear and concern as she backed away out of the church doors, dropping her light swords and covering her ears, Asia doing the same on Raynare's back.
Irina heard Raynare's words and did so as Freed brought the flute up to his mouth and started playing several notes. The fallen angels and stray exorcists looked on in horror as Freed played the flute. They were too slow to cover their ears as they heard the tune of the flute.
They soon jolted and found themselves falling to the ground, dead. The exorcist's lifeless body lay sprawled across the church floor, while the fallen angel glowed purple and dispersed after several seconds, evaporating into the air, leaving nothing but black feathers.
Irina, Raynare, and Asia looked on in shock and horror as they witnessed Lullaby's power from outside the church. They were safe from it because they had covered their ears in time and backed away.
"Oh my god... all of them down... in an instant." Irina said, covering her mouth with her hands.
"I can't believe it. That thing actually has the power to kill people that easily? I have to admit even I had my slight doubts about it, but to actually see it with my own eyes..." Raynare said, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"H-how could he... do such a thing... to his own comrades?" Asia said, looking over Raynare's shoulder in horror.
'Guess I should expect no less of a demon from The Book of Zeref,' Raynare thought to herself.
Freed walked out of the church, kicking the bodies of the exorcists out of his way. "Damn, looks like you didn't hear my performance. Looks like I'll have to play a little louder." Freed said with a mischievous smile as he brought the flute back to his mouth.
The three girls covered their ears as tightly as they possibly could to avoid hearing the tune. Before Freed could play the flute again, he heard a familiar female voice calling out to him.
"FREED!!" Yelled Kalawarner as she landed near them. They all turned to look at her in surprise as they lowered their hands. Dohnaseek and Mittelt landed next to her moments later, and they all looked at the group, then noticed Raynare.
"Raynare, what the hell is going on?! It's good you found the nun, but what the hell have you been doing since you met with that human yesterday? You didn't send a single report! And why is there a pure angel next to you?" Kalawarner said, bombarding her with questions as she and the other two fallen silently also demanded an explanation.
"How's this for an explanation; you're girls going traitor." Freed said with a knowing smile while pointing his thumb at Raynare as she made a 'Tch' sound.
The fallen angels looked at Freed and then at Raynare in shock and disbelief. "What did he just say?! I hope you can explain, Raynare!" Dohnaseek said in a threatening tone.
Raynare glares at them. "He isn't gaslighting you. I've chosen to follow my own path in life and not be controlled by others, not Kokabiel and especially not you three." Raynare said defiantly, as Irina and Asia give her approving smiles.
"What?! You suck, Raynare! Guess we'll have to kill you." Mittelt said as she summoned her light staff.
"Indeed, we have no use for a traitor. Say goodbye, Raynare and your little angel friend," Kalawarner said as she and Dohnaseek summoned light swords.
Irina and Raynare summoned light swords of their own and took fighting stances. Freed, seeing the impending fight, speaks up. "Ha, if you want the bitches dead, I got you covered," Freed said as he brought Lullaby up to his mouth again.
The others look on in worry and fear as he does so. "FREED, NO!! IF YOU PLAY THE FLUTE, YOU MIGHT KILL THE NUN! WE NEED HER ALIVE TO EXTRACT HER SACRED GEAR!" Dohnaseek yelled in worry.
Freed looked at him in thought and realized he was right. "Oh, right. Damn, I forgot about that. Oh well, I guess we're doing this the old-fashioned way, with my personal style." Freed said as he pulled out his light sword with his right hand, Lullaby in his left.
Irina and Raynare looked at the opposing group, ready for a fight, while Asia looked on in concern over Raynare's shoulder from behind. Before the two groups could charge at each other, blasts of red and yellow magic flew towards them and struck the ground between them, catching them all off guard.
"You didn't think our fights with you three were over, did you?" said a female voice as the dust cleared. They all turned to the source of the voice and saw Rias, Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko descending next to Irina, Raynare, and Asia.
"Hey, you guys are just in time," Irina said, smiling. Although it did feel strange to her that she was being friendly with and greeting devils, considering she was cooperating with Raynare, a fallen angel, and remembering her past discussions with Jiro, she chose to treat them fairly and as allies.
"Indeed, Jiro's gang members told us to come here; I'm glad you managed to hold off until we got here," Rias said, also smiling. The other three did the same. To the devils, it also felt strange that they were being friendly with and greeting an Angel, the enemy of their kind, but for Jiro's sake, they chose to treat her fairly and maybe make a new friend.
The devils then looked at Raynare and Asia. "Hey, aren't you the fallen angel that asked Jiro out? And who's that girl on your back?" Kiba asked, pointing at Raynare. She looked kinda different, but he recognized her face and aura, as did Koneko, but they didn't recognize Asia.
"Oh yeah, that's Raynare. Don't worry, she's on our side. And so is the blonde girl." Irina said, gesturing to the two girls with her light sword as Raynare nodded and Asia gave a sheepish smile.
The devils looked on in shock and disbelief upon hearing that, especially Akeno, recognizing her name as the one the fallen angels were looking for. However, they chose to go with it and push it to the back of their minds for now, prioritizing the task at hand.
"Damn, so those devils followed us here, huh?" Dohnaseek said in annoyance.
"Seriously?! These guys are annoying, but at least this saves us the trouble of looking for them and killing them." Mittelt said, also in annoyance, but sports a mischievous smile.
"Indeed, now let's exterminate them and proceed with our main mission." Kalawarner said, pointing a light sword at them.
"Ooh, so I get to slaughter some dirty devils, huh? And two hot ones too, this is my lucky day," Freed said with a deranged smile while licking his lips.
The two groups glared at each other, ready for an all-out battle outside the church. However, before they could begin, they were interrupted once again, this time by an eerie, sinister voice, making them all shiver upon hearing it.
"YoU WeAkLinGs AeR aLL pAthEtiC. I WiLl DeAl wItH ThiS MySeLf."
Everyone there froze and shivered as they heard the voice and turned to where it came from. Their eyes darted towards Freed, who was looking down at Lullaby in his hand. The eyes on the skull atop the flute glowed purple and began emitting a chilling aura. Freed dropped the flute, which rolled between the two groups, while what appeared to be purple smoke emerged from it.
"Is that supposed to be the killer flute thing the punks were talking about?" Koneko asked, looking uncharacteristically scared.
"Y-yes, we saw Freed-kun use it to try to kill us, but he killed his own guys by accident." Irina said, shakily, shivering in fear from the amount of demonic power the flute was giving off.
Rias shook her head, trying to regain her composure as best she could. "W-well, if it is, then we must destroy it," Rias said shakily, summoning a ball of destruction.
The fallen angels were about to rush forward to stop her, but when she threw her attack, the flute rolled out of the way on its own, shocking everyone.
"ThOsE OtHer WeAkLinGs WeRen'T eNoUgh. I nEeD mOre SoUls to qUeNcH mY hUnGer." The flute said as it started floating upwards, shrouded in a purple aura.
The flute floated high into the air, its purple aura and smoke growing drastically larger. The smoke became so large that it looked like a purple cloud, crackling with purple lightning. From within the cloud, the silhouette of the flute grew larger and larger, appearing to take on some kind of shape.
After several moments, the figure in the cloud fell from it, landing on the ground, its feet crushing the trees beneath it. What stood over the group and the abandoned church was a massive humanoid monster that looked to be made of wood, had three glowing purple eyes, and several cutouts on its stomach and arms. The group looked at the monster in shock and fear.
The monster stood so tall that Jiro, on top of his house, the fallen angels, stray exorcists, and crimson dragon gang members could see it from their positions inside the town. "What... in the hell..." Jiro said, looking at the monster, eyes wide as he was almost done teleporting all the people outside of town.
"HEH, HEH, YOU FALLEN ANGELS ARE PATHETIC. IF YOU CAN'T DEAL WITH THESE WEAKLINGS THEN I'LL DO IT MYSELF!" Lullaby said, looking down at the group as it shrouded itself in a purple aura.
"What the hell? I knew it could turn into a monster, but I didn't think the flute could think for itself." Dohnaseek said in shock.
"Me neither," Kalawarner, Mittelt, and Freed said in unison.
Irina, Raynare, Asia, and the devils look up in shock and fear at the monster. "WHAT THE HECK?! ARE THOSE FALLEN ANGELS SAYING THE FLUTE TURNED INTO THAT?!" Irina yelled, stuggling to process what she's seeing.
"W-wait, why is that thing giving off a similar aura to the Viser stray devil we fought before?!" Aken asked, shivering.
The other devils glanced at Akeno, eyes wide as they realized she was right. The monster did, in fact, have a similar aura to Viser.
Lullaby draws its fist back in an attempt to punch Irina and the others. Seeing this, the group spreads their wings, ready to avoid the attack. Raynare looks at Lullaby, eyes wide, and is completely frozen as it brings its fist down while everyone else flies up.
"D-Deliora," Raynare whispered, trembling in fear. Memories of her past, memories of the monster who killed her parents and destroyed her home, flashed through her mind as she looked at the demon before her.
"LADY RAYNARE!!! LADY RAYNARE, YOU HAVE TO MOVE, HURRY!!!" Asia yelled into Raynare's ear while shaking her shoulders from behind. Raynare snapped out of it and flew up as fast as she could, just barely avoiding Lullaby's punch that shook the ground.
"Lady Raynare, what's wrong?" Asia asked in concern as she clung to Raynare's back tightly, shaking from the last moment.
"I'm fine, Asia. It's just... my parents... my home." Raynare said, trembling slightly. Asia looked at her over Raynare's shoulder and wrapped her arms around her neck, trying to comfort her.
"Raynare, are you okay?!" Irina said, flying towards them. Raynare nodded.
The devils then flew towards them as well. "Hey, you, Raynare, was it? Mind explaining what the hell that thing is? I thought it was just a flute that kills people!" Rais said, pointing at Lullaby.
Raynare shook her head, trying to recompose herself, and started explaining. "That is the flute, but it's not just any flute. It's a demon from The Book of Zeref, one of the monsters that loves nothing more than to cause destruction." Raynare said in a low, serious tone as she turned and glared at Lullaby, which pulled its arm from the ground. The others looked at her, then at Lullaby, in shock and surprise.
Rias: "A demon... from The Book of Zeref?! I've heard stories, but... those things actually exist?!"
Irina and Asia: "Wait, a 'demon'?! So it's different from a devil?!"
Akeno: "Unbelievable..."
Kiba: "The world really is full of some terrifying things."
Koneko: "You can say that again."
Raynare nodded as she summoned two light swords. "That's right, now if you don't want that thing to destroy your town, I suggest you hit it with all you've got and kill it." Raynare yelled as she flew towards Lullaby, light swords ready. The others nodded, prepared their respective weapons and magics, and flew after Raynare, towards Lullaby.
Kalawarner, Dohnaseek, and Mittelt had also flown upwards, dodging Lullaby's punch. They descended and landed on top of the church, Dohnaseek holding Freed by his coat and dropping him, making him yell "Gah".
"Do those fools really think they could kill a creature such as this?" Dohnaseek said with an amused smile on his face.
Kalawarner: "Ha, fools indeed."
Mittelt: "Go Lullaby! Squish 'em like cockroaches."
Lullaby swings its right hand at the group who maneuver in mid-air to avoid its hit. "Take this, you disgusting demon!" Raynare yells as she is the first to attack, swinging her light swords at Lullaby's outstretched arm, cutting holes into it and burning it.
Lullaby growls in pain as it pulls its right arm back. Irina flies up, readying her attack, and slashes at its collarbone and left shoulder with her light swords, cutting more holes in it and burning it. Lullaby growls in pain again and tries to grab Irina, who flies between its fingers to avoid its hand.
Irina flies up to Raynare and Asia. "Looks like our light attacks are able to burn it." Irina said, stopping next to them in mid-air.
"It makes sense. It may be different from a devil, but it's still a demonic creature," Raynare said, looking at the sizzling spots where she and Irina had slashed it.
"Of course, no matter how powerful they are, demonic creatures can't defend against holy essence if it touches their bodies. Just like crosses and holy water," Asia said, looking at the demon over Raynare's shoulder.
"Right you are, Asia. Now let's keep it going," Irina and Raynare said in unison as they lifted their light swords.
Lullaby roars and tries to grab the girls with both hands. Irina and Raynare were about to fly out of the way when blasts of destruction and lightning hit each of its hands.
"Oh no, you don't. It's our turn now!" Rias and Aken said in unison as they flew circles around Lullaby's head and threw smaller blasts of their respective magics. Lullaby roared in pain and annoyance as it tried to swat them away.
While Rias and Akeno distract it, Kiba and Koneko fly down towards the demon's legs.
"You won't crush our town, you monster!" Kiba yelled as he slashed at its right ankle with his sword.
"Word." Koneko said as she kicked the back of its left knee.
Lullaby stumbles back from the "Knight" and "Rook's" attacks. Seeing the opportunity, Rias and Akeno fly up side by side and throw large balls of destruction and lightning into the demon's face, creating an explosion as Lullaby roars in pain and stumbles back further, almost falling.
Irina and Raynare flew up to launch a follow-up attack. "Wow, I've never seen a group of devils fight so in sync before," Irina said in surprise, stretching out her arms and drawing her light swords back.
"I know, right? But let's show them what we angels can do," Raynare said, mimicking Irina's movements.
They fly side by side at full speed and thrust into the demon's chest, stabbing it with their light swords. Lullaby stumbles back even further, standing on one foot, trying to keep its balance. The two angels let go of their swords, leaving them impaled in its chest.
They fly back, charging up another attack. They then fire blasts of gold and purple light energy into its chest, scorching its torso even more and creating an explosion. Lullaby roars in agony as it finally falls onto its back, making a loud thud sound and creating a large gust of wind pressure.
Kalawarner, Dohnaseek, Mittelt, and Freed looked on in shock as they knocked down Lullaby. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?! I THOUGHT THAT BEAST WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL THEM!!" Freed yelled in exasperation. The fallen angels remained silent, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Irina, Raynare, and the devils floated up next to each other and looked down at the demon. "Well, that was something. So, is it dead?" Aken asked, lightning dancing in her hands.
"No, its aura isn't gone yet," Raynare said. Irina followed up, saying, "Yeah, let's keep at it till it's finished."
The group readied their weapons and magic to keep fighting. Lullaby started to slowly sit back up as it flared its purple aura.
"YOU WEAKLINGS THINK YOU CAN BEST ME?! I WILL CONSUME YOUR SOULS FOR LAYING A SCRATCH ON ME!!!" Lullaby roared as a purple light glowed in its mouth.
The group looked on in concern as it turned its head towards them. Lullaby then stood up as a massive purple beam shot out of its mouth towards them. Seeing this, each one of them managed to fly in a random direction as fast as they could, nearly avoiding the blast.
Lullaby's blast shoots past them and hits the top of a mountain far in the distance. The blast destroys the top of the mountain in a massive explosion, illuminating the sky and creating a shockwave that even the group could feel from where they are in the air. They all look on, eyes wide in shock at the spectacle, blown away by the power of that blast, certain none of them would've survived getting hit by it.
Seeing the opportunity with them all distracted, Lullaby swats them all to the ground with its right hand. They all hit the ground hard, Raynare trying her best to land on her front as to prevent Asia from getting hurt. They pick themselves up off the ground, covered in dirt, scratches, and bruises, as Irina yells, "Is everyone okay?"
"Heh, looks like we were worried for nothing," Kalawarner said, with a reassured grin as she crossed her arms over her chest. Dohnaseek, Mittelt, and Freed chuckled mischievously as they looked on.
Lullaby stomps up to them and looks down at them. "NOW THEN, SAY GOODBYE, WEAK LITTLE INSECTS. I'LL CONSUME YOUR SOULS AFTER YOU'RE ALL DEAD." Lullaby said as it lifts its left foot up, aiming to crush them.
They all look up in fear as it does so and try to get out of the way as fast as possible while the fallen angels grow worried since it was going to crush Asia as well. A red streak zips by as Lullaby brings its foot down hard, making the ground shake and creating a large crater in the ground.
Lullaby chuckles smugly as it lifts its foot and gets shocked when it doesn't see the group's crushed corpses. The demon looks around on the ground, trying to find them. Its gaze lands on all of them lying on the ground several meters away, with someone new there.
"Woah there, tall, wood, and ugly. Don't go crushing my people now," said the familiar male voice of someone wearing a red leather jacket, standing on the ground with the whole group behind him. The group looked up, their eyes widening in shock as they realized who had shown up and yelled in unison, "JIRO?!"
