Chapter Five

AN. Ok so I realize now that having Kabuto win the fight. Probably makes y'all confused on how I'm going to do the chunin fights. But don't worry, it will all make sense when I post that chapter. Anyways enjoy this chapter!

When Menma opened her eyes again, she saw the face of him. Her eyes widened as she tried to back away, but she couldn't. It was like an invisible force was stopping her from even moving an inch.

"why are you here?" Her voice was trembling.

He just continued to look down on her. His yellow eyes pierced her soul.

"Just leave me alone!" She screamed at him.

"Come home Menma, and we'll finally be a family again. Isn't that what you always wanted?" His voice sounded gentle and sincere but Menma knew it was all a part of his manipulation.

"no I won't" She tried to sound brave, but instead her voice came out as a shaky, fearful whimper.

Suddenly the area around her shifted until she saw a very familiar place.

Her room.

The hideout.

The place where he raised her.

"why" the place looked just as she remembered. A square room with a bed in the corner, and a bookshelf and desk on the other corner. The walls were covered with pieces of her scrolls. The bed even had her stuffed bunny. Orochimaru placed his hands on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

"Don't you miss this place? This was your home, I gave you all of this. But instead, you chose to be ungrateful. And you chose to run away from the life I gave you."

"No, you're lying. I left because of you.." Menma's voice trialed off her mind was going blank, and she couldn't think.

"Just come back, and I'll forgive you for everything."

An influx of memories suddenly hit Menma. It was a single memory that kept replaying over and over in her head. The memory was when Orochimaru found her and took her in.

Her breath was hard and sharp. She was running for god knows how long, her feet and legs had become numb. 'I have to keep going I can't fail them.'

Her parents were sick, really sick, she couldn't let them down. She was so absorbed in her thoughts she didn't realize there was someone in front of her.

Bang!

Menma fell with a thud. She looked up to see who she hit, but before she could even move her head a Kunai was at her throat.

"Who are you girl." Orochimaru spat out with disgust in his voice. He was not in the mood to be talking to a little kid. He was still being hunted by Konoha Anbu.

"I'm sorry.." Menma could barely squeak out, the man in front of her was scary. His long black hair and those yellow piercing eyes. Tears started forming in Menma's eyes. She was scared, very scared. She tried to speak but nothing came out.

"Answer my question, who are you girl," Orochimaru said with more annoyance.

"I'm Menma Uzumaki, I was just trying to find someone who could help my mom and dad," Menma said very softly fear still evident in her voice.

"Uzumaki?" He was surprised, the Uzumaki were spread thin. After their destruction, all of the remaining members spread out across the elemental country. He took the kunai off of her neck and started speaking again. "Where are your parents?"

"They're back at my house."

Orochimaru put on a fake smile. Using this as an opportunity for his experiments. "How about you show me where they're? I'll help them.

"Ok.." Menma was still scared, but the man was offering to help her parents. So she agreed. "What's your name?"

"Orochimaru"

As they walked Menma felt a little happy, she finally found someone who could help her mom and dad. Once the two of them made it to the house Menma pulled Orochimaru to her parent's bedroom.

"They're here!" Menma shouted at him as she pointed at her parents. Orochimaru looked at them they were sick. But Orochimaru had never seen this, both of their limbs were black and their hair was a dark brown instead of the usual red color of the Uzumaki. Menma stood by expectedly waiting for the man no Orochimaru, to heal her parents. But instead, he just stood there looking at them. "Are you gonna help them? Why are you just staring at them!"

"Calm down Menma-Chan I'm trying to find out what's wrong with your parents." His voice was flaky soft. He pulled out a scroll and a kunai.

"Why do you have that? You're supposed to be helping them!" Menma ran in front of Orochimaru. She stood in between him and her parents.

Orochimaru chuckled "Don't worry Menma-Chan I'm not gonna hurt them." He crouched down to be face-to-face with Menma. "I need to get a blood sample from your parents to find out their sickness." He said with the same flaky soft voice.

"But.. that will hurt them, and you said you weren't gonna hurt them!" Menma stayed put determined to protect her parents.

"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt them, I promise" he smiled, but there was something behind that smile. Something sinister.

"Ok" Menma was still weary, but if Orochimaru was telling her the truth, then she would trust him.

Timeskip

After what felt like hours Orochimaru was able to get everything he needed for his experiments. Since Menma had fallen asleep the first hour in, he was able to do what he wanted out without having to cover it up. 'Healing them."

Once Menma woke up she saw that her parent's limbs had gone back to normal, and a note was next to them. After rubbing her eyes she picked up the note.

'I had to go, but I'll be back tomorrow to finish the last part of the healing process.'

Once Menma finished reading the note her parents finally woke up.

"What happened?" They both asked. "You up!" Menma jumped onto their bed and hugged them tightly. "You ok right!? Nothing hurts or anything right!?" Menma asked worry in her voice.

Both her parents hugged her back as they both answered. "We're ok Menma nothing to worry about."

After some time had passed Menma fell right back to sleep, in her parent's arms. Just then all the emotion in her parent's eyes faded, and they called out

"Experiment 18 is asleep." Their voices were cold and emotionless.

"Kukuku" a chilling laughter could be heard as Orochimaru came out of the shadows. "Good work Kazuki and Han."
