Beneath the Veil:
One particular night for Serenity and Elanye stood out when the two were coming from a show. A police officer on patrol in the area walked by them in a stiff manner. His pale complexion and his affixed eyes stared in one direction. Way he groaned and grunted when asked left the two slightly bothered. Stick with them long after that night for the two of them. Got weirder when an older man with a cane, dressed in rags, and smoking a pip appeared at the back door and Bloodsaw Bar. Just when Dera and Goloen with Wyatt was going to close after the final hour.
"It can't be," Goloen knew the old one, "What is the guardian of the crossroads doing here?"
"Dera," Wyatt called to her, "I need you to fetch Konstantin and Dr. Faust. Now."
Off she went as Wyatt whistled his hounds to the back room with his eyes on their visitor. Thanking his father for taking his grandkids for the week.
"All I have is Arrack and my sister's chocolate drops," He addressed their visitor, "If you are willing to sit?"
"I could take in some nourishment after my long journey," Hoarse voice said, "Am I welcomed?"
"Bloodsaw Bar welcomes all of the supernatural world," Wyatt wouldn't be turning him away, "Seat?"
Bottle of Arrack and a plate of Elaine's chocolate drops were placed down. To the barstool an old man sat as the room suddenly grew cold. Goloen was bothered when he started to see his breath.
"Rumors must be true," Old men watched Goloen, "If a knight is here."
"Need assistance in pouring?" Goloen placed a glass before him.
"Where is the lovely lady?" Old man asked, noticing a lack for Elaine, "I would like to have her pour."
"Putting away jars of her Sweetly Spiced Rose syrup," She joins them, "Allow me."
She was careful in opening the bottle and pouring his first glass for him while asking while he was here. He brought up someone dabbling in something they shouldn't have touched. Since Souls were being brought back from the other side against their will. Somehow he was unable to see where they were being forcely drawn once they passed him.
"Necromancy?" Wyatt guessed.
"Reason, why I came here," He sips his drink, "Some kind of aid."
Elaine would have answered him in an assuring manner if they didn't gain a few extra hands. Serenity stepped back to allow Konstantin to handle this after hour visitor. Whose eyes lit up at the sight of the famed detective, who was addressed by another name. This made the carousel light up and spin once before conversation started up. Leaving Serenity at the end of the bar with Wyatt, sharing an opened bottle of Delman's Rum.
"Not how I thought I started my day." Serenity started at her glass.
"You're telling me," Wyatt smirked, "I forgot I inherited an orphic bar."
"I am coming to understand that." Serenity looked around.
Stream of bells above doorways potted plants strategically placed in every corner. Artwork painted by an uncle Jack was carefully hanging on the wall. One of many details that made up a place visited by the creatures of the night.
"Have you eaten breakfast?" Wyatt offered, "I was going to start making something."
How he ended serving rainbow waffles as they tried to figure out what their visitor met. Neither one of them had been approached by the members of the public. left the four of them to split up and check two possible sources. Wyatt and Serenity headed to the city's morgue for a led. While Elaine took Konstantin to the local graveyard to see an old family friend. She just had to stop to pick up a barque of white lilies and marigolds. She wrapped in an embroidered cloth she made herself.
"How is this friend supposed to help us?" Konstantin wondered who this person was.
"Someone who still believes in the old ways of the world," A woman stepped into their view, "Strong jawline and such commanding eyes for one caught in a human shell.
Woman wore a simple long sleeve, vintage style dress with cup Maxi and a hooded scarf. Fastened corset belt and a pair of flats finished what she wore. Hood of her scarf covered her face and made it hard for him to make out. Braid that stuck out was perfectly done french style with a strange ribbon.
"Elaine, I am jealous." Women teased.
"We're not together." Elaine and Konstantin answered her.
Women's laughter came off a bit hollow and echoed through endless headstones. She accepted the cloth wrapped flowers from Elaine with cold hands. A second Konstantin swore he heard rattling of a chain when women turned.
"Disturb graves in fallen officers section of the cemetery," Women smelled the flowers as she sadly smiled, "Beware. The guardians are on alert."
"Guardians?" Konstantin didn't understand.
Elaine leaned back just enough to point above their heads to a strange giant. Made from a mixture of grave so and dead tree with column looking limbs returning her gaze.
"They're a tab on edge since someone disturbed the dead," Women turned away from them, "Have fun searching for what you came here."
"Is she …" Konstantin didn't look at Elaine.
"She is serving a lifetime sentence for misusing your mother's gift," Elaine sighed, "Coming?"

City examiner wasn't much help when Wywatt and Serenity paid him a short visit for answers. He laughed when he saw the two together upon entering. Rest of the still bothered Wyatt as he just stared at his untouched glass.
"You can't be that bothered?" Serenity was amused by Wyatt's expression.
"I didn't know my reputation for helping injured supernatural entities," Wyatt lost his thirst, "Made it that far."
He sighed as the whining that came from down below made his smile only half way. Since he didn't have to look down to see all five all five hounds surrounding him.
"At least he doesn't know your other secret," Elaine had fed her owl, "Be happy."
"Not helping." Wyatt warned her.
Serenity nodded her head when she sipped her emptying flute of fine elvish wine called Emerald Forest. Been opened and currently being shared among the four of them. Just another person not touching his glass came in the form of Konstantin. He surrounded himself with What they all gathered on this usual case. Detective Caol was able to help them with any blanks they needed filling. By providing a list of precincts, these dead officers once worked among other copies.
"I am trying to say," Elaine cooed at her owl, "The good you done outweighs the bad, since not many are willing to even touch most fae during mating season."
"I have to hear this." Serenity leaned in.
"Where would you like me to start?" Wyatt asked Serenity.
Before a few rounds of 'never have I ever' started between the two with Elaine being the referee. Konstantin shared he found the precinct fhe officers were located. Which had Elaine going through her father's map collection and tacks. Onto the bartop the map was unrolled and tack used to mark the precinct.
"Why that part of town?" Wyatt asked, upset.
"I am missing something?" Serenity needed context.
"Where his twin lives," Elaine spoke of Corbeau's mother, "Heather Wales."
"You have a twin?" Serenity asked surprised.
"She's married and one of the more powerful witches of our family," Elaine explained, "Fire is her elemental magic besides an albino raven."
"Your dad is the reason why you don't talk." Serenity couldn't understand why they didn't talk.
Wyatt nodded his head when they ended up heading out to that side of the city. Onto the doorsteps of a Victorian brownstone with a female version of Wyatt answering the door. Just her softer features and perky cleavage were noticeable. Who couldn't believe her siblings were with the famed detective and doctor.
"Zombie police officers?" She repeated what Wyatt told her, "That explains strange activity."
Inside she welcomed them telling them about seeing nightly activity around the neighborhood. This allowed them to settle into her lounge where a radio was set up. Furniture arranged around the table that held the radio was second hand. Still covered some life after having new life breathed into them. what sat on the mantle that Serenity almost touched that Wyatt.
"She doesn't like strangers," Wyatt's voice stopped her, "She's a type of harmonious Fae that is known to dwell within homes and perform tasks. Her name is Tasha and has served the Bloodsaw line for 13 generations."
"You offer her sweet cream," Heather joined them carrying a wooden tray, "She'll warm up to you."
Her point was made when Serenity was handed a small bowl of cream to be placed on the mantle. Which she did and to her side a quiet looking girl appeared with widened eyes. reached out toward one of Serenity's gloved hands and gently lifts to remove her glove.
"Hurt?" Removal the false limb.
"A long story for another time." Wywatt's voice when Tasha's ear twitches.
She happily released Serenity by returning her glove in her hurry to Wywatt's side. Running around once before pulling him to sit down with her. Slightly angried Serenity in an unknown way due to closeness on a loveseat. Left her to try and ignore as best she could when she turned her head.
"That precinct was shut down long ago," Heather recalled, "Why ask about it?"
"Zombies." Elaine and Konstantin spoke at the same time.
"Certain officers have been pulled from the afterlife," Konstantin took over explaining, "Turned into mindless, violent …. thing."
"Oh my." Heather became worried.
She ended up wishing them luck when it comes to ending this small problem with them. Her raven was last seen when she walked them out the door. Gifting Wyatt a wooden box stating the contents were always meant for him. Wanting to talk with him and ever this was over for them. He hugged her and stroked the feathers of her raven before he walked over.
"Parting gift?" Serenity asked in a teasing manner.
"Actually," Wyatt opens the box, "A few magical items that may come in handy."
What she was allowed to see inside this box was an assortment of items made of metal and wood. Mostly jewelry such as rings and bracelets with strange looking keys.
"Well?" Elaine asked Konstantin, "Want in?"
"Why would I need some magical trinket with what I know?" Konstantin spoke with lifted eyebrow.
"You can know everything and still know nothing?" Elaine asked back.
She inquired to her brother about a few keys and rings with certain names. We looked over as they followed Heather's direction to close down the building. Reviewing what could be used since they were heading down a horde of Zombies.
"You think they're the kind that eat you and your turn in one?" Serenity brought the hat up.
"From what we found out so far," Konstantin didn't want to find out, "Let's not find out."

Finding out fellow officers were being pulled back into the living world by a retired police chief. Disappointed Detective Caol while Lieutenant Cormiuhael wasn't really bothered. He just took the statements and processed the paperwork like ordered.
"I am always hiring," Wywatt said of an opportunity, "Better than working with him."
"Kinda reminds me of my father- in- law." Detective Caol shrugged.
"Dad is going to have a heart attack when he hears of this." Elaine sounded elited.
"Fact ... your father allows you to do this," Konstantin replied, "Amazes me."
Elaine tried to not laugh at the point he was trying to make about her and boundaries about danger. Wywatt rolled his eyes and Detective Caol wasn't touching that topic.
"A Bloodsaw avoiding trouble within the Supernatural community," Heather joined them, "You must be joking? How do you think our family ended up establishing a place where creatures of the night visit?"
She then placed a covered basket on her husband's desk with a sight looking over the party of four. Waving her hand to a young man that looked like a copy of Corbeau. Just a black munchkin cat was laying lazily on his shoulders. He had more of a choir boy appearance with sideways braid. Wore a Cropped Trench Cape with a hood similar to one Elaine once wore.
"Victor," Heather addressed her son, "These are the people your brother has been writing to you about."
He stepped from the lobby of the station toward his father's desk as he pushed back his hood. Eyes were more of a sky blue than a crystal like his brother's own.
"Honored to meet you all," He pets the car on his shoulders, "Like my brother and our cousin, I am a fan."
"Cat got a name?" Serenity wondered.
"Goober," He answered, "Long story behind me naming him that…"
"Do tell." Serenity wanted to hear.
