"No Mama, no go. Mama stay here," Jay said as Kimberly tried to stand up, but both of the toddlers had her firmly pinned to the couch.
"Jay, your brother needs to eat," Kim tried to reason as Jay and Kira pinned her more firmly and she looked up at Tommy and he just shrugged. He was so glad to see all of them together that he was more than willing to indulge them for a bit. "Nothing?"
"I'm warming up a bottle, enjoy your babies," Tommy said as he walked over and gave her a quick kiss. The other rangers were slowly trickling into the Command Center and they were just waiting for all of them to get in before they explained where they had been and what had happened.
"What's going on with you two?" Kim asked as she glanced over at Julia and Axel, seeing him holding her closer than normal. Over the last couple of years, they had started to show more public displays of affection, but it was almost never for this long. She watched as Axel gently caressed Julia's stomach and her eyes widened in understanding. "So you're going to be sitting out for awhile."
"Why would she be doing that?" Tommy asked as he passed her the bottle and then lifted Kira into his lap so that Kim had a bit of room to feed Luca. "What did I miss?"
"A lot, actually. It's been nearly three months," Julia said as he looked over at her and noticed Axel rubbing her stomach as well. He looked up at her and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. We're pregnant and engaged. Although I guess we technically got engaged before we knew I was pregnant."
"And, apparently, my powers freak out the way yours do when things happen to her now," Axel said as Tommy and Kimberly's heads snapped around to him. They had not expected that to be something that would happen with him and it was one hell of a thing to manage. Tommy's powers had nearly come unhinged more than once for mundane things. "There's also been Damien and well…we now have Madison assigned to us, to help with things."
"We also got new powers while you were gone," Cameron said as he walked in and sat down backwards on one of the stools. "Patrick called me as soon as you got summoned to help. I gotta say, that run over isn't as nice as being at the Academy."
"You've moved," Kim stated and Cameron stared at her. "Are you liking the new place?"
"It's a good change of scenery," Cameron said as she smiled over at him. She wanted to catch up with him, but she knew that was going to have to be saved for later. They were so exhausted that tonight was not the night to go into anything in depth. "Gosh- what else is there?"
"Grant and Carrie. Patrick and Sam. Hannah. Skyster and the gorgons," Julia rattled off as Kim and Tommy looked over at Grant and Carrie who both let out a groan. They had definitely forgotten that all of the rangers could now tell their bosses that they were together. "What? You practically said that they should have figured it out by now."
"Okay…I know we have a lot to catch up on, but…" Kim trailed off as Patrick, Brandon, and a new woman walked in.
"Who is this little one?" Brandon asked as he motioned to the bundle in Kim's arms and she smiled. "Name?"
"This is Luca," Kim said with a smile as she looked around at all of them. "You must be Hannah."
"Yeah, umm…I'm really confused about what is going on," Hannah said as Kim and Tommy exchanged a glance and Tommy then motioned for them to sit down. "You're going to explain?"
"Yeah- I think everyone needs to be brought up to speed- at least as much as we can before we need to go pass out. Bertie- are the others staying for this?" Tommy asked as Roberto glared at him and then shook his head. "You okay?"
"No, we're all pretty wiped out right now. It took a lot of our reserves to keep them safe and I really…I should be heading home too," Roberto said as he stumbled into one of the consoles and then dropped into a chair. His legs were no longer cooperating and he could feel how close he was to fainting. "Or not. I guess I'm going to rest here for a bit."
"Do you need us to get you home?" Tommy asked as Roberto shook his head no as he propped himself up. "You sure?"
"Let him rest. We'll take him home after we're done with the recap," Kim said as Tommy nodded as Kira crawled over him and tried to settle into Kim's lap. She squished her way onto Kim's lap and Tommy reached over and took Luca to burp him.
"Is…is Kiros done?" Cameron asked and Tommy let out a sigh. They wanted for it to be that simple, but they knew there was at least one more world. He hoped there was only one more world. "He's not."
"He's gone from that world, but we know we're going to have to go after him at least one more time. In a world where Tommy's evil," Kim responded as they all stared at them. They had shown Hannah the Power Ranger history as a primer for whenever this conversation happened. They'd heard Tommy say he had been evil before, but it hadn't sunk in exactly how evil he had been until they really took a look at that history. He made Axel look like child's play. "Yeah. We're not looking forward to that either. We did save JJ and we can guarantee that Kiros can't get back to that world."
"Is there any way…" Cameron trailed off as Kim shrugged. She had never seen Cameron coming along, but she couldn't rule it out. Things might change between now and whenever they took on Kiros again. "I want revenge."
"I know and I wish that we could guarantee that you'll be able to be part of this, but I just don't know Cam," Tommy said as Jay crawled across him, solidly kneeing him in his crotch. He gripped Kim's arm a little tighter than he meant to as he fought to not throw his son off of him and she held in a laugh. "Okay Jay, easy buddy."
"Da play?" Jay asked with a hopeful lilt in his voice and Tommy looked over at Kim to see that Kira was asleep against her.
"In five minutes, promise," Tommy said as Jay bounced gleefully in his lap and Tommy let out a groan.
"Good thing we're done," Kim whispered as Tommy glared over at her and she tried to hide her grin. She was normally the parent that had children elbowing, kneeing, or otherwise injuring parts of her body. "Enough of that. How are things going here?"
"Did they catch up on the two of them already?" Patrick asked as he pointed towards Axel and Julia and they nodded. "So…Skyster and the incoming class?"
"And the new powers," Axel said as he let out a sigh and Tommy nodded. That explained Hannah. He had been content to leave the spot open forever, but it seemed like the powers had chosen for them.
"Is Skyster the new evil?" Kim asked and the rangers nodded. "When did he show up?"
"The day that you disappeared," Roberto remarked as they froze. That was perfect timing, almost too perfect. "We suspect that he was waiting for an opportune time to begin his campaign and the two of you being in another universe is about as good as it can get when it comes to opportunities. Luckily, he's on par with Lord Zedd."
"Shit," Tommy whispered and Jay started chirping the word. Kim and Tommy both stared at him and then exchanged a glance. Great. He was at the point that he was going to mimic anything that they said.
"Lord Zedd nearly killed us a time or two. I don't know that I would say that that makes us lucky," Kim said as Luca woke up and smooshed his face against her boob. "Yeah, I know buddy. You want the real stuff. Oh crap, we didn't have a chance to prepare for…"
Baby supplies landed with a thud behind them and Tommy laughed as he moved Jay back to the couch. He grabbed her a blanket and tossed it over his shoulder as he looked at the other items. It was more than enough to get them through the next few days.
"Here you go." Tommy passed Kim the blanket and then picked Jay up and spun him around. He knew they were flirting with a toddler breakdown right now and would do just about anything to hold it off. "What about next years' enrollment?"
"We've heard back from most of them, but we're still waiting on one. Halima Best is still on the fence," Axel said, levelly, as they stared at him. They knew that Greyson was going to be in this year's group, but had doubted that Michael would even tell Jessica about it. What had changed his mind? "The new students will show up on September 15th. It's July 23rd."
