Eve has seen many powerful attacks over the course of her life. Hyper Beam and its elemental variant the famed starter pokémon are known to use are the first that come to mind. Giga Impact, the physical alternative. Why fire a strong beam when you can just tackle an opponent super hard?

Then came unique moves certain pokémon learned. A strong condensed blast of wind mirroring hyper beam; Aeroblast. A slash with the power to dissect the fabric of space itself; Spacial Rend. A void of darkness leaving the afflicted in an eternal sleep; Dark Void.

Each attack by legendaries were in a class of their own. Each one, in its own right, was simply not to be used against humanity or the life of pokémon. There was no need and the harm it could cause was far too great.

Eve has been told stories and only that of Oblivion Wing. The description went that colors manifested around Yveltal, similar to what was now happening to Relon. Then came a beam of destruction that snuffed out all life it came into contact with.

Then Relon fired. In an instant, a powerful shockwave ruptured the very air itself forcing Eve to hunker under Yveltal as her eyes followed the trailing beam. As if poorly aimed, he steadily lifted it until it suddenly ceased.

Eve's eyes could only follow as his form zipped out of view. Then her mind took the reins.

"Yveltal, after him!" With a pivot out from under the avian to a leap atop its back, the destructive bird took flight.

All she saw under the radiant moon was a trail of particles. What once lied greenery now existed lifeless, gray, trees and land. At the endpoint a blaze of destruction. There before it all; Relon.

Carefully, Yveltal landed a short distance away as Eve hopped off her back to better scan the area. Flames surrounded them as did countless bodies seemingly turned to stone.

"Petrification?" Eve wondered.

"Yes. All life hit by my power holds itself in a limbo. Unable to live, unable to die. Only live in the moment of constant destruction."

"That's…"

"Cruel? Some other term that matches such? Yes. That is the price one pays for angering I… or my Tethered One."

It was the truth. Simple as that.

To anger a legendary was one thing. To anger a legendary pokémon depicted for their destructive nature was a second. However, to enrage the literal Destruction pokémon herself… or a human like Relon that has no control over his new powers was the worst possible outcome.

"Relon?" Even as Eve approached, she had to watch her step to avoid the scattered debris still aflame. Once she was within mere feet, only then did the sight of an exploded vehicle and the bodies around now petrify come into view. She could only further grimace. Relon wasn't the kind to do such a thing. She knew his emotions were now tied to Yveltal's power and such risks were bound to happen. She just didn't expect it to be only hours after resurrecting.

"Eve…" His voice was cold yet it emanated such malice, so much contempt, that the experienced pokémon faltered in taking her next step. "They did it." His dim aura flashed at his words. "Those bastards murdered innocents, children even, so I…!" More and more his anger seeped out but Eve was determined.

She could feel the inner strength of her own resonate with his. One step after another, she braved the wave of hatred. Then she reached him.

"It's okay!" It was short. Full of care, concern, and love. "We won't let them get away with it, Relon! We can stop them but we need to do it together!"

There was a moment of hesitation. It lasted only that as Relon's new power slowly faded until his natural form was visible once more.

"Eve…!" He could only grit his teeth in anger as tears welled up. He was quick to wipe at them though. A few deep breaths to help exude whatever hatred remained came and determination took its place. "Let's go!"

To the skies they ascended. He could still feel it, that power ready to crash out upon all in the vicinity.

"Control it, Relon." Yveltal warned. "Powerful though you may be, those around you are not."

"Understood…"

He only had to look back at the life lost because of his blinded anger to know. He had died and been revived in another world. Now he's killed…

His mind was a mess as was his trembling body. Whether it shook from the act committed or because of what was to come, he couldn't tell.

Too much was happening too fast. That's all he could grasp. Only that was needed for now.

"I've found them."

Sure enough, signs of motionless lights shined down below the canopy as the low rumble of engines purred.

"A cave entrance?" Eve wondered. "There sure are a lot of guards. What do we do? Go quiet or loud?"

"Dispensing these weak peons is a simple matter for myself. I can open a path for you both."

"Doing that may alert whoever is inside and risk any other captives. Though we don't know how deep this cave goes. If we take too long…"

Both sides had held merit but to weigh one over the other.

Go Quiet or Go Loud?

If they went quiet, they'd have to deal with the guards out front. There was a large number and Yveltal's assistance would surely cause a ruckus. To sneak in without at least a battle or two would be possible but then the unknown cave came into question. They'd be on a time limit and would have to steer clear of any more guards inside while finding the prisoners. Then they'd have to somehow be covert on their way out. More steps meant more caution…

If they went loud, Yveltal could clear away the grunt with little effort. With Eve claiming to be as strong as she is, getting through anyone inside should be a simple matter. If they can take all of the enemies out fast enough, then rescuing the prisoners would be much easier. Getting out that way would be easy too if done this way. Although, if they aren't fast enough, something could happen to those captive. Less steps, but time would be of the essence…

"Relon?"

"How shall we proceed, Tethered One?"

The first obstacle was the guards out front. The quicker they got them out the way, the sooner they could infiltrate the secret base. But how to do that without raising any alarms was the big question…

Wait. Big!

"Yveltal, can you create a gust attack strong enough to send those guys flying without causing a ruckus?" At his question, Eve perked up.

"Oh, I get it! We don't waste time while still being sneaky! You're combining both options to make a third one!" His still trembling form could only nod before looking to the legendary.

"That is quite easy."

"Good. Then we'll do that! Stay out of sight and be ready for us! No telling what can happen." He said hopping off to rush ahead.

"Very well! Tread with caution, Tethered One, Eve!"

"You too!" Eve called back.

His nerves quivered as images of mere moments ago flashed. People were dead. Killed by evil people as well as himself. Did that make him evil? He killed because they killed. It seemed like an endless cycle with no sight in its rotation ceasing…

"Relon!" Snapped from his thoughts, his vermilion eyes trailed downward as he ran. Eve was looking at him, an unreadable expression unlike the times since they awoke together. "I'm here. Don't forget that, okay?"

Once again, he was reminded that he wasn't on this strange boat of life by himself. He had Eve. The only thing that knew him. The only experienced living, breathing, communicating, thing that could understand him.

"Y-Yeah. I won't. If I haven't said it now, then I will; thanks Eve. For being by my side. And… I'm sorry for earlier."

"Don't be. We've fought plenty of wild powered-up trainers before. Yeah your sudden powers freaked me out but we're okay. And we still will be after we beat up those bad guys for what they've done!"

Truly, the words that exuded from the umbreon had a way of cleansing his battered soul.

Once more, he looked ahead to the nearing men and gave an unsteady breath.

"Yeah." Repercussions would come later. The time to act was now!

Heads whipping over to the black silhouette of Yveltal dive bomb towards the men, only a questionable comment is all that's heard before the group of guards crash into the forest.

"Go!" Eve exclaimed for both to break out into a sprint.

All his eyes could catch were the downed men unresponsive and Yveltal swooped back around overhead before the cave swallowed his vision.

Inside, it seemed like a simple mine. However, the deeper both went, metallic flooring, walls, and ceilings soon covered the surfaces.

Footsteps nearing, Relon quickly came to a halt. His nerves were alit in jitters but the situation, as dire as it was, made for a good distraction. Peering around the corner to see a man and woman in all black pass, his face scrunched.

"Did you hear about the execution? Those people didn't stand a chance!"

"Oh? Did the doctor give the orders then? Makes me wonder when he'll be done with the rest of the prisoners we just ditched."

"Who cares? That Absol and psychic bitch we found has been all the doc has had his focus on. For shit's sake, the pokémon can turn into a human! You can see the damn guy still salivating now! I saw it with my own eyes!"

"I guess the rumors were true then. To find one human capable of mind stuff is rare but now two? Plus a pokémon that can shift into a human? I've heard reports of other pokémon doing that to camouflage but I never thought I'd see such a day much less in person. Arceus must love crazy scientists or something."

"Hmpf. Can't wait till we kill them off like the rest. Just wish all of this human trafficking we've been doing wasn't so slow… Team Chaos still has a lot of work to accomplish."

With that, their footsteps vanished until the pattering sounds ceased altogether. Relon couldn't hide his shocked visage. Team Chaos was back. Somehow, like a cruel joke, they somehow ventured back into his life. He knew those outfits looked familiar even if just a bit different from what he previously dealt with.

Yet, that wasn't all. An Absol that could become human?

"You dumbass, don't you dare die on us!"

Then a voice unfamiliar surfaced making him hold his head.

"Relon?" Eve exclaimed in a hushed tone. "What's wrong?"

"I-I'm fine… We've got a lot more problems to deal with that need our attention, Eve. Those two mentioned a psychic girl. What are the odds that it's Sabrina and that absol is the same one I saved too?"

"If Team Chaos is here, why wouldn't either?" Eve guessed. "They mentioned the prisoners being down the way they came."

"Yeah, let's hurry!"

An Absol capable of becoming a human though… Could that be why Team Chaos was originally after the pokémon back in his previous life? An absol able to become human and an eevee that can alternate through its eeveelutions. That made a lot more sense as to why such a dangerous group went to such lengths to attack a pokémon professor's lab.

Now they were here. In his new life…

He could only grit his teeth in frustration, that untapped power lacing his body before he shakes his head.

No, he needed to stay focused. Using that uncontrollable power could be a death sentence not just for himself, but everyone in this cave.

"Sabrina, Absol, everyone; hang on…! We're coming to save you!"
