MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Had to upload something as a gift and what better than this. Stay tuned for New Years!
Following the recruitment of Corviknight, Dusknoir, and Charizard, all three had taken Relon's advice on some much needed rest leaving him and the others to their own devices.
Immediately, Relon departed for the showers.
He'd eaten well enough to hold him over for the rest of the day so he only needed to tend to the odor he held. Honestly, it was slightly embarrassing given none of the girls mentioned anything about it, likely out of kindness.
"Gosh," he sighs, reaching the room. He had to thank all of the resident girls for putting up signs and symbols. Each hall looked the same as the last so having labels and arrows helped more than words could describe.
Finding some spare generic male clothes, luckily his size, he lays everything in the hamper before departing for the showers. Somehow, Team Chaos had turned the entire cave into a facility with everything to make it a viable housing location. Once they liberated the next facility, they'd have to do some serious exploration to find actual clothes and other life necessities.
Then once the people here are safe, he could make his next move regarding finding the others.
With a turn of the knob and a few seconds for the water to emit steam, he found himself basking in the heat that pelted his skin.
"Much better," he sighed once more, running a hand through his face.
His pokémon were all separated.
"Should've just left you to drown and save my own hide. Now Eevee is gone… and I'm with these emotions and memories I don't want…"
With how Absol said that, he couldn't help but wonder if the same thing that happened to Eve occurred with her. What if his absol's memories and feelings towards him entered her. That would explain her feelings, as well as why she saved him from Duscknoir last night. Perhaps she just did it to end everyone's suffering of that bastard scientist.
Currently, he has Eve; his starter and one of his strongest pokémon. Yveltal went without even needing to be mentioned. At some point, he'd need to spend time with her to control his hybrid powers. Zorua was confident but still a novice. Given he wasn't a ghost-type anymore, he'd definitely need to be more wary of attack types like Fighting or Bug.
Those three plus the new three that have joined his wing made an even six not counting Absol.
In the span of less than 24 hours, he's managed to get a full team of pokémon…
"What the hell?" He chuckles, shaking his head. Nothing made sense anymore.
Somehow, he brought them all here to an alternate world. Dying, bringing his pokémon from a game into this new life, Sabrina remembering him and vice versa; so much still needed to be delved upon.
"Everyone, please be okay…"
With his shower and a wash-up done, Relon donned his red jacket once more departing outside giving the occasional greeting to any of the female passersby.
Learning he was the only male earlier after gaining his three new pokémon was definitely shocking as he nearly fainted. The more he learned, the more the concept of Eve's joke at a harem became more real.
Sabrina was a given. She's strong, smart, beautiful. Having psychic abilities only put her on a level of her own. Anabel was right there with her. His own bias being excluded, her telepathic abilities to understand pokémon speech as well as her kind and understanding nature.
Then there was Dawn.
Reaching the entrance, he lifts a hand to shield his eyes briefly from the sunlight as they adjust.
Dawn was… someone he couldn't describe how he felt about. She was gorgeous, Sabrina and Anabel-level easily. Her hair, no longer unkempt had been brushed into a straight style laying atop her back. Her bruises and subtle scars from experimentations were indeed noticeable with the skin he managed to see but normal clothing could easily cover such scars up. Even if she chose to show them, it didn't impact her beauty, only increasing out of respect for such an action should she choose to do such.
Dawn's cheery nature, how empty she was when they met to freeing her instilling hope; she immediately turned a negative situation into a positive. That kind of thinking was rare and being known in this facility by the other once-captives made her status as somewhat of a leader apparent alongside the others. That endearing smile she always gifted him with, her soothing nature to care when he was down; she was just a really great girl all around. It pained him that someone like her, all of the others too, were forced to endure such heinous acts.
Stopping to ball his hand, an unsteady breath left his lips. He needed to stay calm for everyone's sake.
"For Dawn's sake, for everyone's, I can't afford to lose now…"
"Rooting yourself on, how like you." Jumping at the voice belonging to none other than Absol, he could only be weary as the pokégirl walked by him. "Stay cooped up in that head and you'll get killed before you're able to do anything."
"I know that," he mumbles, resuming his trek only to notice Absol bringing up his rear. "What are you doing?"
"Walking."
"In the same direction as me?"
"Ever heard of a coincidence?" Ceasing his movement to give her a hard look, she scoffs. "Someone has to keep tabs on you when your fan club isn't. If you aren't aware of your surroundings, then you're a dead man."
"What's your deal, Absol?" That piqued her attention.
"Did my shouting earlier go in one ear and out the other?"
"No. You said some things that noticeably stood out but now here you are, acting somewhat more tolerable."
"I just told you, didn't I?" At that, he furrows. "Ugh, you're such a dumbass. If something happens to you, the lone guy that supports everything going on; the chicks you saved, the kids and older women looking up to you as a hero, that blue-haired bitch always wet between her legs at just being near you, those annoying psychics, the fox brat that doesn't know squat despite being in two life-threatening situations, those pathetic pokémon rescues, and that meddlesome eevee that stole my eevee's powers. If you go, shit's gonna hit the fan and we're all fucked."
Despite his grievances with her terms and nicknames, he didn't really think about his new status like that. With how everyone is looking to him for help and hope alike, not to mention Relon himself claimed he'd bring about change, it made sense. He was definitely holding a leader-like position.
He clearly had the pokémon power, he had the support of Sabrina and Anabel, Dawn was practically the voice and most favored amongst the freed captives so her support was basically all of their support.
Wait.
"Did… you say Dawn was…?" He dared not finish that, hoping Absol understood what he meant. The heat rushing to his chest made it hard to hold a serious face.
"Not literally, you horny virgin. It simply pains my eyes to see someone with an obvious thing for you act without a care in the world. Now it hurts that your dumbass didn't realize it."
"I… What?" He blinks, at a loss for words. One, for being called a horny virgin. Two, Dawn actually liked him? "How do you know this?" He sighs, turning and resuming his trek.
"I'm a girl too, you know. Hell, I'm sure your 'precious' Eve already realized as did the other girls. She isn't exactly hiding her affections."
"She's just being nice." Dawn was just freed after all. Romance was so far out the picture when their own lives needed to be the top priority.
"Are you saying her attitude is nice or her as a person?"
"Argh, get on with it!" He snaps, whirling around. "What's your deal, seriously?! You're hateful to me and everyone! You yelled at me earlier for stuff I don't even know about! If you're being friendly to get info then sorry to say, but I'm just as in the dark as you!"
First came the stunned look Absol held, then the familiar scowl.
"FUCK YOU THEN!" She roars, turning and walking off. "I try to be nice once and this is the shit that gets me! Fine, go get kidnapped for all I care!"
"Wait, Absol, I didn't- Argh! Damn it! WHY ARE GIRLS SO CONFUSING?!" He groans to the sky falling atop the grass. Absol's attempt at being nice threw him for a loop, that's for sure. Why couldn't she just say she was being nice. He get that her earlier logic was sound but still…
"We tend to be complicated for no reason whatsoever~," the coo of one starter pokémon sounded as they approach.
Head lifting to look down at Eve walk towards and onto his chest to sit, he can only roll his head back.
"Nothing about you all makes sense."
"Yup. That tends to be the case. At least I'm straightforward unlike most."
"Please Eve, please, don't ever make things hard on me," he sighs to feel a gentle nuzzle against the crook of his exposed neck.
"I gotcha, Relon. Though, at least now you know Absol isn't completely against talking to you."
"I need to apologize, don't I?" He sighs.
"Yup."
"Even though I don't see myself in the wrong."
"Yup yup."
"Pfft, okay Zorua."
"Hey!" Unable to hold back his laughter, it wasn't long before Eve joined in.
"Where is he anyway?"
"Last I saw, he was talking to Yveltal."
Oh? That was interesting.
"They shouldn't be far then. What say we go check on them?" Hopping off, Eve gives a grunt.
"Sounds good to me. Maybe Yveltal can teach me some dark-type moves right quick."
"In the game, I just 'gave it' to some of you. Whereas in the real world, people use it in tandem with the proper pokéball for that pokémon to learn the move."
"Huh. So then if I wanted to learn more moves by cheating, I'd have to temporarily go into my pokéball…"
Pulling the small ball from his pocket, both eyed it. With a click of the center button, it expanded to its proper size. Red on top like every other cheap, common, pokéball, the bottom was black instead of white. It was Relon's color theme after all. Now, he was thankful since he could differentiate between other pokéballs if the occasion ever arose.
"To save money or if someone was broke, they'd have to learn the hard way. But for those with resources and money, certain TM's are more feasible."
"I wouldn't mind learning from Yveltal. I could also figure out how to control your powers while I'm at it."
"A lot of possibilities, that's for sure…" Sitting up, his eyes remain on the pokéball.
"Relon? You okay?" Dismissing the thought, he nods rising to his feet.
"Yeah. Just a lot to think about…"
Seeing his quiet form, Eve bumps his leg making the male nearly drop her pokéball. "H-Hey! Be careful!"
"Meh," she shrugs, walking off to pause mid-step. "As far as I see it, why bother thinking about future stuff when we have enough to think about in the present?"
Truly, Eve could get away with being a wise guru when she wanted.
"Heh. Thanks again, Eve. I needed to hear that."
"What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't give sagely advice?" She mused to yip as he picked her up in a cradling position. "H-Hey! Let me go!"
"Oh? Isn't it the trainer's job to pamper their pokémon?" He grinned. "Hush up and let me until we get to Yveltal."
Twitching an eye, she can only groan before curling into his touch.
"If anyone sees us, I'll bite you."
"Haha, deal."
Clearing
The walk, albeit short, was relatively nice. The pokémon were still as quiet and observative as earlier, the sun was still high in the sky, and the trek to Yveltal was straight and simple. So much so that Eve, who complained at first, immediately slipped off into a light sleep.
Everytime he peered down at his friend, he couldn't help but wanna poke her forehead. Everytime his finger got close, her ear would twitch slightly. He couldn't tell if that was due to her being actually awake or just her experienced senses on alert.
Seeing an opening in the treeline, another minute and he's out in the clearing where Yveltal can be seen with Zorua atop her head speaking about something.
He couldn't help but find the sight amusing. A pokémon, a legendary no less, known for being the being of destruction casually chatting with a small mischievous fox on its head.
Sensing him first, Yveltal's head moved towards his direction as Zorua's mouth shot up into a happy grin. Without hesitation, he jumped off the avian's mouth running for Relon.
Relon already had his one hand in a shushing gesture before pointing at Eve's resting form. Thankfully Zorua grasped that cue at least.
"Awe, Big Sis is sleeping," the fox whispered with his usual grin.
"Big Sis? Well, I suppose you're not wrong. Though once she becomes an eevee again, you two will be about the same size."
"Doesn't matter to me. Big Sis will always be Big Sis!"
That earned a chuckle from Relon. He was relieved for Zorua to still look up to Eve given her unique ability.
"Tethered One, shall we depart?" Yveltal asks, for Relon to tilt his head.
"Where to?"
Wordlessly looking to Zorua who nods with clear eagerness, he can only tilt his head as the legendary pokémon gestures towards the sky.
"Our next destination." Then it clicked.
"You mean Team Chaos' next facility." Zorua's eager face nods fervently.
"Mmm…" All look down to Eve squirm before her red eyes peer open. "Oh… we're here…" With a stretch, one paw poking Relon's chin awkwardly up in an uncaring fashion, she rolls out of his hold and towards the ground exuding a yawn. Wordlessly, she looks to Relon who blinks before it clicks as he smile awkwardly.
"Crap," is all he can say before a simple bite at his exposed leg comes next. "OOOOWWWWWW!" Teary-eyed while holding his small aching leg, Eve only gives him a bland look before snapping her head away.
"I did warn you, you know. Also, hurry up and come out, Absol!"
"Can you blame me- Wait. Absol?" True to her words, a familiar clicking sound emanated from behind. Looking to the source, he saw Absol reveal herself from behind a tree. "How long have you been there? Don't tell me… You never left, did you?"
"I meant what I said, stupid. If you aren't aware of your surroundings, then you're a dead man."
"Why linger instead of…" Words dying out on his lips, the reason became apparent. She was probably still upset with him.
"Because I was still miffed at you, dumbass." He could only internally chuckle.
"Sorry about earlier, didn't realize you were… being nice." He genuinely didn't know how else to word that apology.
"Absol being nice?" Zorua snorted to freeze up at said pokégirl glaring at him. "I-I mean, Absol being nice to you? Haha, didn't see that coming! Yup yup! Totally…" He quieted down, slinking behind Relon.
"Absol," Relon calls out. "Care to join us? I'd like to try and have a proper talk this time."
"Why the hell should I?"
"Because you actually care, even if you yourself claim otherwise. Absol, look, I can only guess so much based on what you say unless you tell me directly. Somehow we ended up here, supposedly because of me. I don't know why but I don't like you distancing yourself from us. We're all in this situation so wouldn't it be better to work together?"
"No." Her response couldn't be anymore swift. With crossed arms, her expression showed so little care, he wondered if her earlier comments were just a ruse. "I trust no one but three people; me, myself, and I. I'm tired of being stabbed in the back. I'm listening to my instincts first and foremost."
"But-"
"Then how about a battle?" All eyes snapped to Eve sporting a confident grin. "You win, you're free to do whatever you want. I win, you listen to Relon when he asks for help."
"Eve, wait! We don't need to fight each other!"
"Deal."
"Absol?!"
"I get the chance to clobber you for taking my eevee's powers and knock around a poké mon of that idiot. Best of both worlds so why would I say no?"
"Bold of you to think you can beat me," Eve muses.
"Um, girls?"
"Not now, Relon / Shut it, boy." Both answer.
"Hey, Ms. Yveltal, if things get too hectic, you'll stop them, won't you?" Zorua asked, cleary nervous from how things were looking.
"Either myself or thy Tethered One shall."
"You make that sound easy," Relon grimaced.
Moving off, the three watch as both girls face off.
"Not gonna go 'full absol?'" Eve mused with a carefree grin.
"No need to do that for a shrimp like you."
"Hmm, I have to wonder if you actually mean that." That made Absol's eye narrow. "Or could it be-"
"Shut up!" She roared, scythe-like appendage flicking out of her head to glow before launching a purple crescent.
Jumping with ease, all can only look as it rips through the treeline.
"That you took over Relon's Absol's body, stole her strength, her memories, and her emotions." She wondered aloud, landing to look up at a feral-looking Absol already on her. Yet, the amused look Eve had didn't fade.
With a pivot of her front paws, her tail shimmered in a metallic coat before slamming into Absol's cheek. The force behind the impact sent a shockwave throughout the clearing as a small tremor erupted.
Down Absol laid unmoving with a still smirking Eve looking in Relon's direction expectantly.
"That… was…underwhelming," Zorua blinked.
"What did you expect?" Eve scoffed, walking off Absol. "She may have Absol's strength but she doesn't even know how to use it properly. Not to mention she may have the memories like I do, but she doesn't know how to use it. The moment she attacked, all I felt was natural, wild, instincts. Hmpf, as far as I see her, she's just an amateur who got lucky with getting free power-ups."
"Damn, Eve," Relon blinked.
He knew that Eve had experienced a lot with said memories carrying over, but even Relon hadn't seen such an accurate yet blunt side of her coming. Not by a mile.
"Welp, that was easy. Relon, care to put the idiot on Yveltal's back?"
"Uh, Eve?"
"Yes?"
"Please don't ever hit me with an Iron Tail."
Looking at him, she couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, don't worry, I'd never do that to you even on my worst days. I care for you too much, silly." She cooed, nuzzling his leg.
"Me too, right?" Zorua grinned for Eve's own to vanish.
"You're not there yet, squirt," she deadpanned as Relon moved to pick up Absol.
"Awe! Noted…" the small fox sulked as a flap caught their attention.
Watching Yveltal retake the clearing, his mood shot back up at the chance to ride atop the legendary. With that, he took off. Eve walking behind.
As Relon approached the downed Absol, he could only sigh knowing the chaos that would ensue when she woke up. Turning her over, her hair parted allowing her full face to be seen.
The more he looked at her, the more he realized just how stunning she was.
The cloth she wore was the same as the others except like Sabrina, it did little to hide her developed figure. Her hair, surprisingly kept well, had a unique charm to it with the dual coloration. Even from Eve's attack, there was barely a scratch except for the small red spot on her cheek.
Even as he picked her up, he found his own enhanced strength not as alarming but rather how light she felt. He knew he wasn't strong enough before to lift a full-grown woman so he'd have to thank Yveltal's power for that as well.
Laying her atop Yveltal, he breathed a breath of relief from the small effort.
"Alrighty, Team Dark is raring to go!" Zorua exclaimed atop Yveltal's head.
"Huh?" Relon sounded out. "Team Dark?"
"Yeah! You get it, don't you? We're all dark-types!"
"... Huh. I didn't even realize."
"Pfft, I like that, Zorua." Eve chuckled. "It fits for now. Alrighty, Team Dark, let's gooooo!"
Acknowledging her cue, Yveltal took to the skies with a bellowing flap.
"Let's just remember that this is reconnaissance. We're not trying to just fight more of Team Chaos."
"Unless we see them torturing more people and pokémon," Eve chirps.
"Then we smash em!" Zorua mimics his starter.
"Shall we use a repeat of our last plan then?"
"Hey!"
One thing was for certain. The next base wouldn't be the same as the first…
