Mitsuki Midoriya, Her Song...

On a sleepy road on the outskirts of Musutafu, a woman who bore a striking resemblance to Izuku's childhood friend was driving a man who looked like an older version of the Midoriya himself. The pair was in mid-conversation about the current state of both their lives while entering an area surrounded by thick fauna. "Do you ever regret the decision to run from Sapporo, Hisashi?" the woman asked her eyes on the road.

"Where is this coming from Mitty? We have been out here for a over decade and we both have families here." Hisashi asked confused at the question that was asked by the blonde woman. He had left his childhood home after a disagreement with his mother and ever since him and said woman had been living in Musutafu ever since, so after all of that time he was unaware why she would ask if he regretted it now, sure at first he was homesick and he was sure she was, but after twelve years he could not say that he exactly regretted his decision.

Mitty in question let a barely noticeable frown on her face. Unlike Hisashi, she regretted following him here, though if she could go back she would not change that. She knew why he left and it was noble of him to do so disregarding that they would not see Hana Midoriya, her savor, again. Her thoughts on the matter remained unlike Hisashi she can clearly say that she was not happy, she was not satisfied with how life for her turned out. Growing up she had her whole life planned out in front of her and Hisashi threw a ranch into those plans. "Where is this coming from? Hisashi…" Mitty began, them entering a mountain pass that appeared to only have their car on it. "I asked you the same thing four years ago." After years of not seeing each other, they met again as both had toddlers with different people. "I understand that you wanted to help the heroes back then, for the greater good of everyone, I understood that you weren't the only one that wanted the same thing, but…"

"But we betrayed my mom, we ran away without telling anyone and I left you alone after. Mitty I…"

Mitty harshened her grip on the steering wheel, red gloves starting to smoke stopping Hisashi mid-speech. Of course, she would not blame him for her decision so just hearing that sorrowful tone in his voice was enough without him apologizing, letting out a soft sigh she smiled offering him a glance. "It's alright Hisashi. You know… things did not work out for me that it has for you. My kid is a little shit that basically worships All Might, and my marriage has been on the rocks for a while now. I don't know… I have been thinking about if we did not leave all of those years ago what our lives would be like now. What would have happened if you were going to take over for Lady Hana… Where I would be now."

"What are you saying, Mitty?" Hisashi said, looking at the defeated face of a once proud woman who put fear in the scariest and hardened Yakuza.

From the corner of her eye, Mitty looked over at the man that she had grown up with, the man that she had planned to be a right hand. "I want to go back, I want us to go back Hisashi. After all this time I want us to go home. Lady Hana, Aki… everyone misses you. I don't know if I can keep lying to them. After we do this, after we help the heroes take down the straggler clans we can finally go home, Hisashi. After that, the four are going legit everyone of them even…"

"My mother?..."

"Yeah, she wants to take up gardening, and with the money from her… work she can live comfortably for the rest of her life. And she wants to start a store for us in the future, she wants us back Hisashi. That's why she agreed to this as a way to apologize for everything." Mitty spoke with a hint of desperation in her voice, though she was telling the truth about Hana's apology she was not a hundred percent truthful of what she had to do for it. Hana like Mitty herself was a proud woman that has her beliefs that she would stand by at a cost to herself, she knew that she and Hisashi were the same so she did something that would convince the man's mother that she was serious, she had to throw away her pride for this offer. "We can finally go home, Hisa."

"Go home? Mitty what about our families, about Inko and Masaru… we can't run like we did back then. We have kids for Gods' sake." Hisashi looked at Mitty like she had grown a second head.

"Don't look at me like that, I know Hisashi… but like tonight we have responsibilities that can't be ignored. And don't lie to me like you do Inko. Do you know what it's like to lie to her about knowing you, or does she know where you are right now, or what you are doing with her best friend…" Mitty could see that her words hit a cord with him. "If we go home we don't have to sneak around anymore, we won't fight like we do with them." She paused to put a hand on Hisashi's shoulder. "It could be like it always has been since we were kids the two of us against the world." She spoke as the pair passed the sign that marked a parking lot and park that overlooks the city.

Hisashi sighed at her request, he knew that in some way she was right. He could see it in Inko's eyes every time he had to go on a 'business trip' It hurt her to see him go, especially recently. The stronger of the smaller clans around the country were not going to bow, and All Might's declaration of war on all organized crime did not help things in the least. That man did not care that no one could keep up with the number one when he was motivated, and it was apparent that All Might did not have a family of his own or he would at least take a day or two off, or let the people he needs to support him to do just that. Hisashi thought over Mitty's words in the calm quiet with just the sound of the engine and the tires moving on concrete to accompany them, and she might be right about this being the best move. He did not know how Izuku might react to it, but he could use the same excuse many generations of salarymen have used in the past. Resolute he turned to Mitty to ask her one thing before he made up his mind to break the heart of the only other woman he had ever loved. "And what about the kids, Mitty?"

Seeing that she had somehow gotten through to him for the first time in twelve years smiled for the first time in what felt like days. "We will work it out, I don't know about Katsuki, but I am sure that Izu would like Sapporo, a Quirkless kid like him would love it there. You don't know but he has been being picked on lately, I have caught some of his and Katsuki's friends with stuff that Inko would buy for him, and asking Inko would only things worse for him. At least at home, he would be a son of Midoriya, our name would at least afford him a normal life. Plus if he still wants to be a hero there is no reason he can't be a 'late bloomer' like I was."

Hisashi laughed, apparently Mitsuki had thought all of this out like she has with everything else. "You have thought this out, but I doubt mom would like it if her grandson wants to be a hero. And have you thought of how both Inko and Izuku would react to this? It is Inko's best friend and Izuku's Auntie who is breaking up the family, have you thought about how they both would look at you after all of this? Let alone Katsuki."

Mitsuki gave him a bright smile as she pulled into the nearly empty parking lot, sure that all that she cared for now was what Hisashi's decision would be, sure that at the very least one of their children should be with them, the one that looked every bit like a Midoriya. "Sure…" She frowned at the thought of Izuku ever hating her, but to get what she wanted she was willing to do whatever it took. "Izu would hate me for a little while, and we will be breaking Inko's heart but after the last twelve years I can live with it, they will understand that this might be best for everyone."

"Best for everyone she says."

(...)

"Is that your girlfriend, Izu?" Izuku heard a voice that he knew all too well, Mitsuki Bakugou, or should he say Mitty.

Izuku almost jumped out of his shoes reacting to the blonde woman that appeared out of nowhere, the mother of his… his childhood bully. A pink tint and less than a ruler was the only thing that separated them, honestly, this woman seemed to not care about personal space when it came to him. "Mit… Mitty-san?" Izuku caught himself as he created space between them, recognizing the shoulder-length bob and hair clip that did not belong on the mother of Katsuki, accidentally throwing his phone at the sight of her.

"You can already tell us apart, sometimes I forget how smart you were…" Mitty said, looking at the dropped phone. "… So this is where the number one first trained you, not too bad. I remember when this beach was covered in trash." She smiled digging her hands out of the pockets of a large white hoodie, a black flame accompanying them. Without a word, she launched herself from behind the dividing wall where Izuku was sitting with a box, over his head to his partially buried phone, wiping the sand off of it, and presenting it to Izuku after messing with it. "You got to be careful with this one she has your grandmother's and Yuuri's eyes, and you know how danger… what?" She questioned, the awestruck red face of the teen in her presence.

"You, are… you aren't…" Izuku spoke, staring at the form-fitting light yellow dress that she had underneath her hoodie.

It took a moment, an awkward moment for Izuku. "Ah… blame Yuuri she nearly pushed me out of the house after your text came through, that girl sometimes. I was barely out of the shower and everything." Mitty sighted cocking her head. "I need to be more careful, I have to remember that you are still young. Sorry, Izu." She finished in a teasing tone.

Izuku never knew how to handle this woman… at least no one else saw as they were alone in this section of the beach, pouting, he accepted the phone. "What do you mean she has my… grandmother's eyes?" He questioned, getting back at the subject at hand, skipping past the sight that he saw while she flew over him.

"It's an extremely rare mutation in the future caused by… How do I say this?... Line of distortion Quirks. Like what happened the last time we met. But I don't know what that girl's Quirk might do Yuuri's was special, she would haven't have it if it wasn't for… our Quirks." Mitty spoke, not sure how to explain the entire thing as things stood, she had made Yuuri promise not to interfere in Izuku's life more than what was not crucial after all.

Izuku had a few thoughts on the matter, extremely rare quirks that distorted reality were something that could be very dangerous indeed. "You say in the future what about now?… do you know this person? If you are warning me about them are they dangerous and does that mean something bad will happen?"

All questions that Mitty doesn't know she can answer… No, clearly the mutation should not exist yet. Yes, she knew who the person very well, she was… after all, and yes… That girl's very existence is going to be dangerous in a couple of years. She never got the reason why Yuuri was left in the state she was in for years before she found her, so knowing what she knew it was best to keep her mouth shut and let him enjoy his peace while it lasts. "…"

This was a rare sight even for Mitty and Izuku knew all too well what that look meant, he saw it in Katsuki after the incident at school, and he saw it in his mother every time someone called him Quirkless in a rude or inventive way, and he even saw it her every time the subject shifted to… it was not right. "If you are warning me then I will have to be her friend, I don't know exactly what happens but…" Izuku looked at the blonde on his phone. "Like with Shoko Todoroki, history is not a fixed loop. It won't repeat itself if I have something to do with it… you have my word."

"You have a knack for that, just don't get hurt… not just for my sake either, Izu…" Mitty paused to recollect herself. "Why do I feel that I pushed you two closer together than you should have been." She said chuckling. "Anyway do you have what I asked you for?"

"Ah, yeah." Izuku moved to the box that he had told the girls that he was delivering. "Why did you want sweets from overseas for? I had to spend a fortune on them. Most of the money that I have made on my All Might merch went down the drain."

"It's for Yuuri, not me. Besides…" She paused with a teasing grin. "It's not like you are not getting anything in return." She dug into her hoodie pulling out a portable drive. "You did not want to know how hard it was to convince Ayaka Yasuda for a copy of an early version of Carer… if I was not your… I don't know if I would be able to get my hands on a blank-slate downgrade like this. Apparently, it has sentimental value." She finished showing him the drive.

For Izuku if Ayaka made it, and it had sentimental value to her it was worth more than its weight in gold. Even though they have only known each other for two months, her work on his hero costume and Carer's code was every reason to believe in her talent, and Mitty calling a version of Carer a downgrade only made it clear that there was so much in the future that he had to look forward to. "If that's the case… you should have asked me for something more, I want to help you both." Izuku said his eyes sparkling.

"If that's the case… nah, you need to mature more before then." Mitty laughed at his face going red. "You don't have to worry, Izu. You don't have to feel the need to owe me or Yuuri anything. As long as you stay happy and healthy that's enough." She walked up to him putting her hand in his hair. "You should grow out your hair, I liked it longer when you did."

Izuku grumbled, letting Mitty play with the bush on his head, he had never thought about it before but seeing himself with longer white hair gave him the thought that whatever was going to happen at U.A. would change his life forever. "If you like it, then I will think about it." Izuku blushed looking down, much to Mitty's amusement. "So… Uhhh… Why did you want the candy for Yuuri?"

"Oh, that…" Mitty adopted a thinking pose. "I guess I can tell you as long as you do something for me in return. Have you heard of the hero named Lady Nagant? She would have retired a couple of years ago."

Izuku really racked his brain to remember anything at all. "No, I don't think I have? Did she work in the area?" Izuku asked trying all he could to remember.

It was not until Izuku felt that Mitty grabbed his hand placing the portable drive in it did he return to the present. "Look for a Kaina Tsutsumi, she should be in her thirties by now… make sure she is okay, protect her if you have to… if she is anything like the Kaina I know she is a piece of work, and she has no one here." Mitty said with sadness. "If she is alright or… you can not find her then I want you to win in the U.A. sports festival… no matter what. A selfish request from me…"

"I will…"

(…)

Everyone was in shock, in the middle of the arena of the stadium where the U.A. sports festival was taking place, Katsuki Bakugou's fist was covered in blood and an unconscious Setsuna was lying meters away with his fist raised high like some conquering hero. Midnight serving as proctor called an end to the proceedings with Katsuki being named victor, and then the boos began, the commentary silent, and before long Katsuki left the ring.

It wasn't until he was in the tunnel entrance to the stadium that he acknowledged another person, Izuku Midoriya. The boy was pissed, Izuku, not wasting time, grabbed Katsuki by the collar of his t-shirt filled with piss and vinegar. "Why?... Why did you do that?" Izuku asked angrily.

Katsuki let off a smug smirk grabbing Izuku's wrist in turn. "I have no idea what you are talking about, Deku. I won my match just like you did yours." Katsuki replied. "I don't see what the problem is."

"The problem... The problem is that you hurt someone from our year, someone who is going to be a hero just like us, for no reason." Izuku's free fist balled, staring down his childhood friend.

"I did the same thing as you, Deku. I put an extra in their place. You wanted to fight right?" Katsuki grinned. "You wanted to fight Todoroki right, and you got rid of someone in your way. Get real, Deku..." Izuku's eyes twitched. "Just because you have that busted ass Quirk of yours doesn't mean you can look down on me. I will be the one that will be putting you in your place."

Izuku's eyes went wide while both boys let go of each other, Izuku's face twisting into absolute rage. 'So that was why you did that Katsuki.' Izuku lowered his head, Katsuki taken aback by the cold calm that was on Izuku's face now. "Fine, do what you want, but after I beat you half to death... I will drag your lifeless body to her and make you bow and apologize."

Katsuki got a chill down his spine at Izuku's words saying nothing as Izuku walked away from him. For the first time since they met Izuku genuinely looked done. It didn't matter what Katsuki had said the other teen would brush him off but that seemed to change recently, and for the first time it seemed that Izuku had lost it. Without another word, the boy left Katsuki. "What the hell?" Katsuki was confused about whatever that was.

He watched as Izuku entered the stadium before leaving for the prep rooms only to walk into a pretty nasty slap that made his ears ring. In his haze, his vision landed on the tearful hateful gaze of one Momo Yaoyorozu. "Baku-bin." She spoke, mirth dripping from her tone.

Before he could say anything Momo left towards the same direction he was going, her steps quick and muted.

Meanwhile, in the arena Setsuna was being attended to, Izuku entered the ring without the grandiose setup from Present Mic. A hushed murmur took over the crowd while the medical team moved past Izuku, everyone letting out a gasp as Setsuna grabbed Izuku's sleeve. They exchanged a few words that weren't overheard by the crowd with Izuku giving the girl a gentle smile, watching as she was vacated from the stadium. As soon as he was alone in the ring Izuku's face grew serious and in that moment today was going to be remembered for the next three fights with U.A.'s next generation of the school's big three. Izuku letting out a slow and deep breath activated One For All's strength enhancer to the 'true' max that his body could handle. 'One For All' "Full Cowl OVERCHARGE!" With one swift motion, he punched the concrete ring beneath him, shattering the concrete into dust and a crater was created as he sat crossed-legged in it. Izuku was now in a mission state of mind and no one could have predicted what he would do next.

A few hushed gasps and conversations took over as the dust cleared and Izuku was seen in the middle of the small divot in the middle of the stadium awaiting his next opponent Shoto Todoroki. "Did you just see what I just saw?" Present Mic spoke to no one in particular in a small voice as everyone had no idea what to make of the current state of the festival. They all knew that with Katsuki's bout with Setsuna, something had changed, and they were not the only ones.

(…)

"Aw fuck." A spiky-haired blonde woman said to herself as she was watching the proceedings in the comfort of her home on a large TV screen, with a rather sizable frown on her face. 'You finally crossed a line you shouldn't have, Katsuki…' She thought as a smile crossed her face as Izuku's seated figure emerged from the cloud of dust reminded of the two figures that he resembled. "You are a Midoriya after all, Izu… I shouldn't be surprised. Setsuna Tokage eh? Maybe some phone calls are in order." She spoke, looking at a light blue katana in its sheath mounted in a case over the television.

"Did you say something, Mitsuki?" A brunette man came into the room as she was pondering, adjusting his thick-framed glasses as he sat next to her on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.

Mitsuki smiled, turning to him in a genuine excitement that had not graced her features in a long time. She grabbed a handful of popcorn as her attention shifted to him. "Long story short Masaru… don't ask me how I know but…" Mitsuki chuckled with a mouth full of popcorn. "Izuku is going to humble his next two opponents something fierce. I would not be surprised if he won it all today." Mitsuki finished smiling at the screen with all her attention on Izuku.

(…)

Meanwhile, in the arena of combat, Izuku sat, staring a hole at the tunnel that Shoto should come from. "Isn't this getting a little too serious?" Present Mic asked his broadcast partner, and the partner in question was just as surprised.

The sound of feedback interrupted the commentary and a few murmurs were heard as the crowd wondered what was going on. "That's... Alright, we will inform them..." Eraserhead commented before speaking through the mic. "It seems that principal Nezu has lifted the rule for ring outs in the final three fights... As long as there are no visible threats of serious injury the winner would be the person that forces their opponent to quit or render them unable to continue."

There were hushed murmurs from the crowd, many were in disbelief that U.A. would go this far to accommodate their students with the violence that the tournament produced so far, and others mostly, U.A. Alumni understood the dangerous precedent set by the villain attacks with the first years and although not completely on board understood what the thought process behind the change in the rules was. As this was going on, Midnight came to Izuku with a worried expression. "Midoriya… I am completely against this but…" She let out a choked breath, there is no normal way to say this to a student, at least she never thought that she would be telling a student that the people who should be keeping them safe said that as long as there is no major trauma there were not going to stop the match until one student quit or is rendered unable to fight, there had to be something wrong with that. "Look…" She put a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "As long as you don't seriously injure Todoroki or are not seriously injured I will not stop the fight… But if I see that you are going too far I will stop you two and you will both be disqualified no questions asked. Do you understand what I am telling you?" Midnight explained, not liking the look in Izuku's eyes, but she understood that there was no malice in them, and Izuku was her favorite student so far this year so she hoped that did not change.

"I'm sorry if I scared you sensei, but this is something I have to do, so please do not interfere until the end."

Something that he had to do? Midnight sighed, giving him an embrace that shocked the crowd. "Just don't go too far, that path… that path is not one that you can come back from easily." She said disengaging from him, chuckling at the pink tint on his face. She skipped back to her place before winking at him. 'At least this tournament had not changed him too much.' She thought as they waited for Shoto Todoroki.

(…)

"Those idiots…" Mitsuki cursed at her television as she got up from the couch, her popcorn long forgotten. Her mind was on why they would waive the rules like that, both her Izuku and Katsuki could get plenty creative in the tournament as it stood but now that their opponents don't have a way to stop them if either of them is challenged enough, and now that Izuku was angry that did not fare well for Katsuki if he wins his next match against someone like Momo. "Masaru? Record the next match, I am going to get Inko, knowing her, she is going to pass out from the stress." Mitsuki barked leaving their living room with a phone in hand.

"Umm… Alright." He said picking up the remote, he had found it weird in the beginning but once he had met Inko and Izuku Midoriya he understood. His orphaned wife saw them as a part of a family that was now long gone, reminded of a mysterious little brother that resembled Izuku that Mitsuki would not talk about which made some sense that his mostly antisocial wife would become good friends with an introvert like Inko. "But I don't see why you have to worry about her. Izuku has changed a lot since entering U.A... Plus he gets his empathy from his mother and that woman has the heart of a saint." He spoke pressing the record button on the DVR remote.

If that was all to it then she would have to agree, but Inko was not the one that she had to worry about. She had known about Katsuki bullying Izuku since an incident in their third year of middle school when one of Izuku's bullies visited Katsuki and he left home without a word. She had left things alone after confronting Katsuki after he and the other kids came back with bruises hoping that Izuku fighting back would not bring any retaliation on her son… but as things stood. 'Dammit all.' She thought, putting on her shoes. Mitsuki knew what the price of touching a Midoriya was and with this tournament being televised she could not help but hope for a victory for Izuku, because if Katsuki had his way then all she could do was take the cost of his actions herself, being a Midoriya herself. "That's why I am bringing her here, you know how Katsuki can get when he does not get his way. You have spoiled him too much."

"Excuse me… I have?"

(…)

Mitsuki was doing chores around her home as her husband read something on his tablet the morning after Izuku and Hana found out about each other, something that she was about to find out. As she worked the broom around their kitchen she wondered how her Izuku and Katsuki were doing on their internships. She was reflecting on how even a year ago the fact that those kids were both going to be heroes was an impossibility, Mitsuki wanted to return to her hometown a short while ago but now, for the last eight years she has been working fucking hard to make things work here, though she has been slowly growing apart from Masaru she had finally found her place in this city. "How do you think Katsuki is doing in his internship? After entering U.A. he seemed like he was going through something, and after what happened at the sports festival it looked like it got worse even though he won the whole thing… I am worried, Mitsuki. Do you think he has figured things out?"

The woman paused her actions in their tracks, pretending to think things over as she looked at her husband while cupping her chin. It appeared she knew their son better than him, despite the fact Masaru was more attentive when it came to raising Katsuki, that boy had always had a superiority complex and an ego to match, and after all this time growing up with a Quirkless kid like Izuku it was only natural the hard head idiot would act like a child going through a temper tantrum. The two of them in her eyes were a lot alike, which is why she originally believed with a short enough leash and time to reflect he would change for the better, but that seemed to be not the case, or it was so far into the future to the point that leaving him like he is does not make any sense. For now, however, they have to play it by ear, it's not like his complex will get worse knowing how eye-opening U.A. might be for him. "No need to worry Masaru, he's a kid, and he is with Best Jeanist if he doesn't listen to a hero like him… Well, a change in a career might be in the cards. And don't you blame our marital issues on his behavior? That boy was taught that he was special from the age of four. It was a matter of time before he found out that he isn't, that there are always things you can't control and wouldn't go your way." A lesson that Mitsuki learned early on in life.

"But still, what if he knows?" Masaru asked in a submissive tone.

Mitsuki has always hated that, Masaru was not exactly her type when it came to mates. Hisashi had always told her that she was too rigid in her choices, but the lives that they lived in their twenties were hard on them, and giving someone a chance because she liked them without knowing their character was not smart. The type of culture they lived in was more or less dangerous and if she let anyone that was not a Midoriya see a weak side to her it was the last side she would ever show anyone. She laughed thinking that she was a tomboy growing up. So, when it came to what Masaru thought she could not help but think that Katsuki would have been more upset about it eight years ago but not now. "He has known what was going on for a while now… So it would be weird that he cared about it now. I had explained this to him when we started talking about this. Kids pick up on these things, you know." She spoke looking at Masaru under narrowed eyes while he sat at the dining room table.

Masaru put down his tablet with a look of hurt on his face, though he had expected it he did not know that Katsuki knew from Mitsuki herself. What started eight years ago was now in the open, and it had been long in the open before he knew. Katsuki had not acted any differently before going to U.A. and he seemed to act as he usually did towards him, not that he could say the same about Katsuki's relationship with Mitsuki. "Why? Why didn't you tell me?" He nearly shouted, this felt like a betrayal after all this time.

"Because I knew this would happen." Mitsuki spoke dismissively.

"What do you mean this would happen?... Mitsuki?" Masaru was about to blow his top at the nonchalant way of speaking that had become the woman's signature.

It was times like this that she regretted that she did not just go back to her hometown after Hisashi's death. She felt that if this was any of the men that she grew up with or for her deepest wish Hisashi she would not have to explain herself as she was now. Mitsuki hated this housewife lifestyle as it was. Why the fuck did she have to explain to her husband that she had told her son that his parents were separating? Why does he feel the need to baby her son all of the time? The bullshit never ends with him. Mitsuki was now seeing red at his anger, and she had stopped caring about what she said to him. "I mean what I mean, Masaru… Why shouldn't we warn our son that he was going to see his parents split, at least I'm not the one that hides things behind the 'he's too young' argument. You are just too proud to accept reality."

"Accept reality? That's rich coming from you." Masaru instantly regretted those words that came out, though she hadn't told him everything about her past he knew enough that he had triggered something that he had seen in her eyes when the news of her best friend's husband's death came, he had confused her estrangement for a sense of deep loss. However, after that news that was there too, he had always thought that the Midoriya family was a replacement for a family long gone, and he was half right in thinking Mitsuki was an orphan who went through hardship growing up. Looking his wife in the eye he could see that the very tough and proud woman that he married was about to cry. "Mitty… I…"

Mitsuki, if she hadn't lost it, was about to. "Don't you ever call me that…" She dropped the broom and bit her lip to fight back the tears, drawing blood. "What the fuck do you know, HUH?..." She asked, wanting to be anywhere else but here.

Masaru got up from his place trying to comfort her, getting closer. "Mitsuki I did not mean that, I just got…"

"Angry?..." Mitsuki finished his sentence. "What you think anger is, is not anger." She pushed him away when he entered her bubble. "Katsuki has seen anger when he told Izuku that he was better off killing himself than waiting for a Quirk that would never come… When his own mother was 'Quirkless' until her teens. That's anger. Anger is finding out that your son was bullying your best friend's child since he manifested his Quirk. That's anger. Anger is waiting to see the people you love to come for you and knowing that they will never come. What do you know about anger?"

Masaru was stunned for words, this was the first time he heard any of this. "Mitsuki I didn't…"

"You didn't know anything. When was the last time that you sat down and asked me anything? When was the last time you asked us anything?" Mitsuki said, harshly poking his chest. "You are too busy in your own world for that…" After an awkward moment, Mitsuki started leaving the kitchen, leaving the mess and broom where it was. This is what she hated most about Masaru, he was not a fighter when she fought every day just to survive in the past. Life was too short for this.

"Where are you…" He stopped his question halfway.

"Inko's, we shouldn't see each other for a while." Mitsuki said leaving Masaru alone in the kitchen.

'It was really over,' Masaru thought. Sure the two of them had fought from time to time but… but Mitsuki had never left before. An eighteen-year relationship down the drain, and he could not for the life of him figure out when it had all gone wrong. Is that what she meant? Was his inaction a reason? No… everything was all bad long before then.

Mitsuki found herself in the master bedroom, slamming the door behind her. Before she could put her words into action she slid down leaning on the door, her tears freely falling. She could not help but feel a tightness in her chest, a longing that she thought she had long forgotten. She hummed a lullaby that used to calm her when she was younger that Hana would sing for her. She should have dragged Hisashi with her when she originally planned.

The woman didn't have the luxury to bury herself in sorrows, however, the world has other plans for her. Her cell phone's ringtone filled the air, and after digging out of the back pocket of her jeans she couldn't help the small smile that crossed her face at the caller ID. The Caller read as Akihiko Arashigawa.

"Hello?"

"…"

"Aki, are you there?"

"Are you ok?"

"What are you talking about, Aki? I should be asking you the same thing?"

"No no no. Something is definitely wrong Mitty. You are crying."

"…Why did you call, Aki?"

"No, I am serious Mitty, you never cry. I can barely count every time you cried since we were kids on one hand. On Lady Hana's and especially Hisashi's name… wait are you laughing? Mitty I know I am not as skilled as you are but that does not mean that I would let the guy that hurt you get away with it… Not after everything you have done for me."

"No, it's just a lover's spat, you know that there's no one in this world that can hurt me…"

"Anymore."

"Fine, anymore… Hisashi was… special. So anyway, why did you call me after all this time?"

"Are you sure that's all that it is?"

"Aki, I am not going to repeat myself."

"You know how scary you get sometimes, Sis?"

"I am going to hang up…"

"Okay, ok. I get it, but I reserve the right to punch that idiot in the face."

"Aki…"

"I am getting to it damn… Lady Hana knows about Izuku…"

"She what?... Wait, how do you know?"

"Ever heard the name Kaminari?"

"Shit… I know I should have done background checks on those kids, but I am guessing he wasn't the one that told you."

"Nope, my silly nephew is too much of an idiot to know what I did for a living. But you really should pay attention to the people Hisashi's brat hangs out with."

"What do you mean?"

"In a word, who do you think I got my information from? My donor has a vague interest in All Might."

"Fuck…"

"So how do you want to play this?"

"What did Lady Hana say?"

"In a few words?... She said, 'My daughter, my grandson, my rules…' and she said to bring you in, kicking and screaming if I had to."

"So like Osaka then?"

"I knew this was going to be a mess. Fine, I will give you four hours to say goodbye…"

As their conversation ended she wiped her tear-stained cheeks with her hands feeling an odd sense of relief at their talk. "Never change, Aki," Mitsuki said softly looking up at the ceiling that she was never going to see again. She was about to prepare herself to re-enter that world again.

Getting up she moved back downstairs in her modest home, she silently moved to the living room, to a case holding a light blue sword still in its equally blue sheath. 'Forgive me Izu,' she thought, examining the deep silver blade. Once she was satisfied she moved back to the kitchen seeing that her husband was upset at the table trying to process what happened in their earlier argument. With his head turned away from the entrance he did not hear Mitsuki approach.

It was only when he felt a tap on his shoulder did he turn to meet her gaze. "Mitsuki, I-" But it was too late, the time for words was over. Once he faced her Masaru felt blood bubble up from his throat, a sharp pain at his neck, then nothing watching the blank and distant look in his wife's eyes as she brought his head to eye level, the couple meeting lips. 'What?' A final thought that was had by him as the world went black, with no life behind his eyes.

"I cared for you once so this is the only final goodbye I could have with you. You were a gentle soul and I know my mother well. You were never going to survive in that world and I am sorry that this is the only thing that I could do for you." She spoke softly at the lifeless eyes of her husband, with a now bloodied katana in her right hand. After a few seconds of staring she dropped the now-dead disembodied head of her husband next to the rest of his body cocking hers at the sight. "I thought that would be much harder than it was." She said thinking back at a time that mirrored this one. "I guess I misjudged their relationship." She smiled thinking of a time when Hisashi gave one of his exes a cocktail of drugs which led to her overdosing, and having to comfort him at the end.
