Dick Grayson had just gotten out of a shower after a long day at the police station when he was met up with a stern looking Damian Wayne.
"Brother by adoption. I would have words with you." The boy stated seriously. "It is about your brother."
Dick sighed. Does he HAVE to be so formal? He thought to himself. Wait, did he say BROTHER?! "What are you talking about, Damian? The only brothers I have are you, Tim, and Jason. And we're all adopted."
The youngest Wayne nodded. "Indeed. However, I speak of your brother by blood. Before you argue, allow me to explain. I went to a European performance of the 'Circolo delle Stelle'. I trust you've heard of them?"
Dick thought for a moment. "' Circolo..yes. Yes I have. Circle of the Stars. They're like the Cirque de Soleil, only they perform solely in Europe and Asia. What about them?"
"As I said, I went to watch a performance. While there, I saw a young man who could pass as you, only he seems a bit older." He replied, then took out a ticket. "They're playing in Tokyo next week, and I took the liberty of buying you a ticket."
Dick took the ticket. "Thanks. I do have some vacation time coming, so it looks like I've got a trip to Tokyo to take. Thanks, Damian…" he sighed as Damian was already gone. "Just like Bruce…"
The next day, Dick went to Wayne Manor, where he went to the attic, and pored through the belongings that came with him after the accident. He frowned, finding nothing. He then went to Little Egypt, an old friend from his circus days. She looked sad when he spoke to her. "I, didn't want to be the one to tell you, but…back before you were born, your mom and dad had another child, a boy. The boy was declared stillborn. Your parents never told you, well, I guess it's because they couldn't deal with their own sadness."
Dick lowered his head. "I..guess I can understand…but I wish I DID know…"
"Since that day, there were rumors that one of the nurses was actually able to revive the baby. She'd gone to tell your parents, but they were already gone. Plus the doctors told her she may be practicing without her license and would face deportation. You see, that nurse was a fresh nursing school graduate from Japan. She and her husband had wanted a child, so they decided to keep the baby. The three of them went to Japan, where they raised the child. While she was Japanese, her husband was American, so there were no immigration or adoption issues."
Dick looked at her, dumbfounded. "Rumors? Do you…do you think any of that may be true?"
"If so, know that they named the child Mitchell. The family name is Hamada. The nurse is an only child, so when they married her husband took her name, as is tradition."
Dick hugged his old friend. "Thank you so much! Now I have a name to go on." He took off and went to pack. He would ask Bruce why he didn't tell him, but he knew how Bruce does not pay attention to rumors. He alerted Bruce and Barbara of his trip, then went to bed.

After settling into his hotel room and telling his family that he arrived safely, Dick decided to take in the sights and sounds of Tokyo, maybe get some more information about Mitchell, his long lost brother. He spent hours asking around, only to get basically the same answers: Mitchell is dead. Mitchell joined a circus. Mitchell joined a circus but is now dead. Mitchell ran away and joined a circus, not sure if he's still alive or not.
Dick went back to his room, then looked at the ticket Damian gave him. The circus was that night. "I'll get some answers there, I just know it!" he said out loud. He went to shower and change, then left.
He took his seat in the tent bleachers, then kept a watchful eye out, especially at the performers. He studied the faces, mannerisms, everything that would possibly give him a clue. Finally, he saw him. A young man that faintly resembled his father. Same build as himself, same grin that he'd give his enemies just before pounding them senseless. When the ringmaster introduced him as Mitchell the Magnificent, Dick smiled even wider. Jackpot!
After the show, Dick went over to the dressing rooms and found Mitchell's. He knocked on the flap, then entered when told to do so. "Mitchell? Mitchell Hamada?" Dick asked.
Mitchell grinned, "That would be me! So, do you want an auto…graph?" He turned to face Dick. His mouth gaped, feeling like he was looking at his reflection. "Oh my…who-who are you?" he whispered.
Dick's eyes watered. "I-I'm," Great, he thought to himself. I've stood up to the vilest, most evil monsters in Gotham AND Bludhaven. I almost killed the JOKER! And now I can barely speak!? "I'm…Dick. Richard Grayson…I-I'm…your…"
"My brother…" Mitchell came closer, placing a gentle hand to his cheek. "My BROTHER!" He hugged him tightly, his own eyes brimming with tears. "My adoptive mom…she said you and our parents, were killed!"
Dick chuckled as he returned the hug. "Only our parents…and no one told me about you… until just recently!"
The rest of the evening was spent catching up, telling each other stories of their growing up. Mitchell spoke of his childhood in Tokyo and how he always wanted to join the circus, while Dick told him about his adoption by Bruce Wayne and his adoptive brothers.
Mitchell chuckled at the mention of adoptive brothers. "Funny, I always pictured Mr. Wayne as some playboy, not a doting dad!"
Dick laughed as well. "You'd be surprised!"
The rest of Dick's vacation was spent with his newfound brother. Before leaving, the two brothers exchanged numbers and addresses, each vowing to visit the other often.
