This story takes place between chapters three and four of 'Opposites attract' Enjoy and don't forget to review.

Chapter one: Love in France

Bugs was sleeping in his bed sound asleep until the sun's rays came through the blinds, causing him to stir awake, he opened his eyes and got out of bed, he went and parted the blinds revealing it was a nice day outside and got dressed and brushed his teeth before walking downstairs.

He went into the kitchen to see daffy reading the news paper with a cup of coffee nearby.

"Daffy why do you keep coming here?" Bugs asked. Daffy glanced at him and shrugged.

"Eh, its rent free" Daffy said. He didn't take his eyes from the news paper he was reading.

"Oh there's a poker tournament starting in a few days" Daffy said.

"You really think i care about poker? I've never played poker since my college years" Bugs said.

"There's a trip to France being given to whoever gets first place" Daffy explained. That caught Bugs' interest granted he never played Poker in a tournament like setting there were times he played it in his college years. But that was just for fun and there were no stakes wagered.

"Didn't you play Poker in college?" Daffy asked.

"Daffy, I'm not going to that tournament. I'm just not interested." Bugs said. He sat down on his couch and turned on the Television and started watching it.

"What about Lola?" Daffy asked.

"What ABOUT Lola?" Bugs asked, hoping for Daffy to elaborate.

"Haven't you two been hanging out recently?" Daffy asked.

"Daffy, we went to the country club and played Tennis together. We didn't even kiss" Bugs countered.

"Ah so you DO like her?" Daffy countered. Bugs, annoyed but didn't express it with words calmly grabbed Daffy's beak and threw it out the front door. Daffy ran out to grab it only for bugs to close the door behind Daffy and lock him out of the house.

"Hey bugs! Let me in Rabbit! LET ME IN!" Daffy yelled as he continued to bang on the door.

Bugs just watched the telenovela show on Tv, he started getting real interested in the show recently. He calmly munched on a carrot and could still here Daffy banging on the door until it suddenly stopped, Bugs just assumed he went over to Tina's house.

Bugs sat up and went over to the kitchen table and grabbed the paper that Daffy was reading and read the article about the tournament. It was a standard tournament with a total of ten players and only required a buy-in entry fee. Bugs read the requirements and felt he could do this. It sounded simple and well structured.

"I think i might give this a shot" Bugs said to himself. He got his phone and found the website promoting After he finished signing the tournament and signed up. After he did that he got a notification saying they'll get back to him in a few hours.

That left Bugs free to do some stuff around his house. He cleaned his kitchen, he vacuumed his carpets and he even mowed his lawn.

Bugs opened the fridge to see that he was low on food again and decided to visit the super market, he went to the garage and got into his car and began to pull out of his driveway.

Imagine his surprise when he saw Lola standing outside his driveway.

"Hey Bugs!" Lola said cheerfully as she waved at him.

"H-hey Lola. What're you up to?" Bugs asked. Lola rest her arms on the passenger side window and smiled widely at him.

"I decided to take a walk outside and enjoy the fresh air. Where are you going?" Lola asked curiously.

"Nowhere special, just need some groceries" Bugs said.

"Ok then Bugs, see you later" Lola wished before she continued on her walk. Bugs continued on his way to the store.

(One shopping trip later)

Bugs exited the store with enough food to last the rest of the month, he loaded his groceries into his car and checked his phone for the date.

March 12th. It read.

He got in the drivers seat and slowly pulled out of the parking lot. Soon he was back on the road and headed home. After a short drive he made it to his house and pulled into the drive way and turned his car off. Exiting his car he checked his phone messages, one caught his eye.

Dear participant

You have been accepted into tonight's poker tournament, hope to see you there at 9:30 tonight.

Attached to the message was the address and a picture of the building. It wasn't very tall or extravagant but simple enough to blend in and was easy to find.

The company wasn't stated so Bugs didn't know who was throwing the event but at this point he didn't care. It could just be a casino that's throwing it for all he knew.

Then he thought about who he would bring if he won and suddenly Daffy's words echoed in his mind.

"What about Lola?"

That made Bugs pause for a moment and consider the idea, Lola was very sweet, a bit dimwitted and talkative but he was taught to accept all of a girls flaws, no girl could ever be considered 'perfect', and if he was being 100 percent honest with himself he did find her cute and her heart was in the right place when it really mattered.

After a while of going over the idea with his subconscious and waying the pros and the cons, he finally decided.

"I'll ask Lola after the event" Bugs said, he was also aware this was a tournament with ten other participants, he knew the odds of winning were slim but he also knew that being confident in your own abilities was what mattered and to never allow yourself to be distracted easily or get too cocky.

Bugs grabbed his groceries and walked inside his house, he sat them down on the table and fixed himself a glass of water.

After he put his groceries away he made himself a sandwich and plopped down on his couch when the phone rang. He got up and grabbed the phone and held it up to his ear.

"Hello?" Bugs asked.

"Hey bun bun" Lola said through the other end.

"H-how've you been? Other than when you were at my driveway" he joked.

"Ha ha ha your so funny Bugs. Ohhhh nothing much i finished my walk and I'm watching Television" Lola said.

"Any new shows lately?" Bugs asked.

"I am watching a show about a woman who can see the dead and helps them pass on into the light after she helps them solve their problems" Lola said, this caught bugs' interest.

"What's the show called? I might check it out tonight or maybe tomorrow" Bugs said.

"It's called Ghost whisperer" Lola said.

"Sounds interesting" Bugs said.

"There are a few episodes that are pretty terrifying i'll admit. I'd not watch if you're scared easily" Lola warned.

"I'll watch out. Don't you worry you pretty little face about it. I'll be fine" Bugs said.

"Aww thank you, i like your face too. I think your handsome" Lola said, Bugs blushed but composed himself.

"Thanks Lola. I got to go there is something I'm doing later tonight" Bugs said.

"Ok, have a nice night" Lola said.

"You too" Bugs said. He hung up the phone and continued to watch Television and looked at the time.

4:45, the clock read.

"Ok i have a few hours to kill before the tournament" Bugs said as he got comfortable on his couch, he made sure to keep his phone nearby and charged.

(A few hours later)

Bugs checked the time and saw it was almost time for the tournament. He grabbed his jacket and keys before walking out to his car and drove to the Tournaments location.

Pulling up to his destination and got out of his car and walked into the building. Getting inside he noticed it was made like a casino. There were poker tables as far as the eye could see and there were spots reserved for the ten participants.

"Alright if everyone's ready we can get started, 3, 2, 1, BEGIN" an announcer said.

(After the tournament)

"AND THE WINNER IS...BUGS BUNNY" the announcer yelled.

Bugs Bunny walked up to claim his prize and stuffed the tickets in his jacket pocket before walking away.

"Great game out there, you're a natural" a competitor said, it was a dude with blonde hair and looked to be eight-teen.

"You too" Bugs said shaking his hand, the two went their separate ways and Bugs exited the building and back to his car. Getting inside he started the car and started driving back to his house.

(a while later 12:30 at night)

Bugs made it back home and slowly drove in his driveway. He parked in his garage before shutting off the ignition, before he stepped out. He walked back inside and grabbed some carrots and grabbed his phone and called Lola.

He dialed her number and waited for an answer. It kept doing the internal ringing and Bugs thought about calling tomorrow until he finally heard a voice.

"Hello?" Lola asked, she sounded tired, and Bugs immediately felt guilt rush over him.

"I have something to ask you, i'm sorry i woke you" Bugs said.

"No no its fine, anything for you bugs. What did you need to tell me?" Lola said.

"W-would you like to go to Paris with me?" Bugs asked. Immediately Lola's sleepiness drained from her body and she screamed over the phone.

"Ahhhhhhh" she screamed, Bugs flinched and pulled the phone from his ear.

"So...is that a, yes?" Bugs asked.

"YES! I would love to!" Lola said excitedly.

"We leave this weekend, our plane leaves at 11:30" Bugs said.

"Ok, i'll get to your house early at around 10:00. Goodnight bun bun" Lola said.

The two hung up and Bugs smiled to himself as he laid on his couch and smiled to himself.

"I still got it" Bugs said coolly to himself before drifting off to sleep.

(The next day)

Bugs was sound asleep until his alarm sounded, groggily with a groan he opened his eyes and looked at his alarm. It read 9:30. Turning it off he went back to sleep only for him to open his eyes wide in realization at why he set his alarm to that time in the first place.

"Oh snap. I got to get ready!" Bugs said, he got up hastily and splashed water on his face to come to his senses and got dressed, he made sure to pack light, so he grabbed a small suitcase and began packing some toiletries and a pair of sunglasses.

"Maybe some sunscreen wouldn't hurt also" Bugs said.

He packed everything in a small case and grabbed a fanny pack and stuffed his toothbrush and toothpaste inside. He didn't know what else to bring so he calmly went downstairs, he started a pot of coffee and grabbed a banana to just munch on while the coffee brewed.

"Maybe i could call Lola" Bugs muttered to himself. Getting up he walked to his phone which was where he left it on the table beside the couch. He dialed Lola's number and waited for a response.

"Hello?" Lola asked.

"Hello Lola, you ready and packed?" Bugs asked.

"Hey bun bun, yeah i'm all ready and packed. I wasn't sure what to bring so i packed light" Lola said.

"Good, good" Bugs said. At that exact time the door opened, and Daffy walked inside the house and gave a look to Bugs before walking upstairs.

"Who was that?" Lola asked.

"Just Daffy, I kicked him out yesterday after he mentioned a Poker tournament and about asking you to go to France with me, he was really getting on my nerves" Bugs said.

Bugs heard her giggle on the other end which sounded nice to him, for some strange reason. He shoved that to the back of his mind for now.

"That's Daffy for you" Lola said.

"You didn't grow up with him like i did. We got into all kinds of trouble" Bugs pointed out.

"That's true. So, when're we leaving?" Lola asked.

"I'm just about to leave, you want me to pick you up at your house?" Bugs asked.

"Sure" Lola said.

"I'll be over in a few minutes" Bugs said.

"Later Bugs" Lola said before hanging up.

"What was all that about? Where are you going?" Daffy asked.

"I'm going to France with Lola" Bugs said.

"Oh, so you entered the tournament after all, im proud of you my friend" Daffy said.

"Got anything planned for yourself?" Bugs asked.

"I'm taking Tina out to dinner tonight" Daffy said.

"Thats good Daff, just make sure to lock the house when you leave" Bugs said.

"You're not my mother" Daffy said. Bugs crossed his arms over his chest.

"I mean it Daffy" Bugs said.

"Ok, ok, fine jeez. I'll lock the door" Daffy said. Mock seriousness in his voice.

"Thanks Daffy" Bugs said as he walked out the front door and out to his car.

Getting in he started the ignition before pulling away from his driveway, and began to drive to Lola's house. He made it there in under ten minutes, he saw Lola outside her front door.

"Hey Bugs!" Lola said happily.

"Hey Lola" Bugs said as he got out of his car.

"Allow me, milady" Bugs said.

"Aw someone's quite the charmer today" Lola said as she got in the passenger seat as Bugs closed the door behind her and she buckled in. Bugs soon got in the driver's seat and they drove to the airport.

(A half hour later)

They parked in the parking garage and got out of the car, Lola offered Bugs her hand and they held hands as they walked towards their flight. They made it through the line and found their seats.

"Let's see, I've eaten all my carrots, I've done the cross word, I've peed four times" Lola said, Bugs just put his head in his hands.

"How long is this flight again?" Lola asked.

"Its 20 hours both ways, ten hours there and ten hours back. Thats twenty of your twenty-four hours" Bugs explained.

"Someone's really good at math~" Lola sang. Bugs groaned and looked over at a passenger in the next row of seats across from him.

"What're those?" Bugs asked.

"Soundproof headphones" the guy said, putting them on.

"You wouldn't happen to have a second pair would ya?" Bugs asked. The guy pointed to his headphones and Bugs groaned. He put a magazine over his face and decided to get some sleep, if at all.

(One boring flight later)

The two finally made it to their destination and exited the airport. They looked around them and saw so many buildings and architecture. Lola grabbed bugs hand and they went and explored the city. They were fascinated by the sights around them and took it all in.

"Wow, the white house" Lola said. She began to sing the national anthem, much to Bugs annoyance.

"Lola, we're in one of the beautiful cities in the world, let's take a deep breath. Take in all the sights" Bugs said.

"That's a-" Lola said but Bugs placed a finger on her lips.

"With no talking" Bugs said, he took Lola's hand, and they went to go explore.

They rode on a scooter through the arc de Triomphe, they went to the Notre-dame cathedral where a painter made them a beautiful painting, They went on a river cruise boat and rode through the Parisian canals. Bugs wrapped his arm around Lola and she leaned her head on his shoulder. They slow danced on the canals edge before rubbing noses and they kissed.

"Yeah, that would've been better with talking" Lola said.

"Ow" Lola said as Bugs suddenly dropped her and quickly pulled her up.

"You got to stop talking" Bugs said bluntly and flatly.

"Lets get something to eat. I'm hungry" Lola said.

"Ehhhhhh, ok then" Bugs said.

The two found a nearby restaurant and went inside and the design of the place was very beautiful and captured the renaissance era of history beautifully.

"Bonsoir, how many?" A host asked.

"Two please" Bugs said.

"Right this way S'il vous plait" he said. Bugs and Lola followed him to their table. After a short while they made it to their table. It was dawned in a pristine white table cloth with silver wear wrapped in dark green cloth napkins.

"A waiter will be here shortly, Feel free to order whatever you want" he said before walking away.

"This restaurant is beautiful" Lola commented.

"Well it is decorated in the style from the renaissance periods between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries" Bugs said.

"Its beautiful here" Lola said.

"Not as beautiful as you" Bugs said. He reached over and grabbed Lola's hand from across the table and gave it a soft squeeze.

"Aw thank you Bun bun. Your real sweet" Lola said.

"Well i dont mean to brag or anything but..." Bugs bragged as they both laughed.

"Ah qu'avons nous ici ?" a voice asked. Bugs could easily recognize it as Pepe la Pew.

"Mr Bugs bunny and Lola, Quelle surprise de te voir ici" Pepe said with a smile.

"Hello Pepe, its been far too long" Bugs said.

"Alas il a mon ami. What can i get you and the mademoiselle?" Pepe said. Lola blushed furiously and bugs smiled.

"We'll share a spaghetti" Bugs said.

"I'll have the french carrot salad" Lola said.

"What would you like to drink?" Pepe asked.

"Red wine si'l vous plait" Bugs said.

"And for you?" Pepe asked turning to Lola.

"Water is fine" Lola said. Pepe wrote that down and smiled at the two.

"I'll have that out for you, enjoy your stay" Pepe said in his french accent. He walked away.

"Wow! I had no idea you were fluent in French" Lola said.

"Now please Lola, you're making me blush. It's just bits and pieces I picked up over the years is all" Bugs said. "I took French class in high school but it wasn't something i wanted to dedicate my time to" Bugs explained.

"I guess it paid off, huh" Lola said.

"I guess it did" Bugs said. The two talked for a while more until Pepe brought their food out.

"Heres your food, Spaghetti for the two you and a carrot salad for the mademoiselle, bon apotite" Pepe wished before he left.

"To us" Bugs said with a smile as he stirred some spaghetti in his fork.

Lola bit on the other end as they slurped up the noodle and met halfway across the table, they instinctively shared a kiss while in turn breaking the noodle between them. Both of them broke the kiss and smiled at each other before laughing hysterically, having a wonderful time.

Soon it was time to go back to the airport. They both got up from their chairs and Lola grabbed Bugs' arm in hers as they walked to the exit.

"Aw I spilt spaghetti sauce on my tank top. Your mean" Lola said playfully shoving Bugs away from her.

"Hey, I can't help it. Your too pretty for me" Bugs joked.

"And your too handsome for me Bun bun. I'll be right back" Lola said as she walked to the bathroom.

"I'll be waiting" Bugs said.

"She's a keeper" Pepe said walking up to bugs.

"She's crazy, but I like that about her" Bugs said.

After a while Lola came back from the bathroom and smiled at Bugs and Pepe.

"Ready?" Bugs asked.

"I'm ready" Lola said. Bugs checked his watch, and it read 9:15.

"We better get going, thanks for everything" Bugs said.

"Merci d' etre venu" Pepe said, then he leaned in and whispered something in bugs' ear.

"On se voit à votre cérémonie de marriage" he whispered, Bugs blushed and walked hastily out the door making Lola and Pepe laugh as they walked out and headed back to the airport hand in hand.
