Deep within the Segmentum Ultima - just a few parsecs outside the Aurelian Sub-Sector - in the Demeter Sector; the Capital World of Demeter… The sounds of battle filled the barren hills that were mixed with the many roaring sounds of Daemons screaming, Chaos Space Marines roaring with bloodlust and anger, Chaos War Machines marching towards a specific point on the region of the planet. But these Daemons, Chaos Marines, and their Chaos War Machines were being slaughtered en masse with the opposing sound of a sword slamming on the ground and the sound of a Ranger Long Rifle.

What could possibly be able to take on this many hordes of the minions of the Formless Horror - as many Necrons called the Four. The possessed Wraithknight that stood fifty feet tall, and at the controls of the Unliving Farseer Taldeer, striking the Chaos War Machines like the vile machinations that they were before those swipes of her massive blade took down the smaller Daemons and Chaos Marines in the process. Her fury towards the forces of Chaos for torturing her brother mentally - thanks to the late Traitorous Chapter Master and Chief Librarian of the Blood Ravens Chapter of Imperial Space Marines, Azariah Kyras. And taking her fury upon the Daemons and Servants of Chaos was the most logical thing.

At her side was her beloved brother; a Ranger, and a Spymaster - Ronahn. A wandering outcast of the Eldar that lost faith in the Eldar Prophecies once he had lost his sister Taldeer to the fallen Chapter Master and Chief Librarian. He had suffered so much - and perhaps too much - during those decades within the Segmentum Ultima. Not to mention that he had his sister held as a hostage in the care of Autarch Kyre and those that followed him due to the prophecy of the Wandering World - Acheron. But soon, Ronahn had found a trusted ally within the Craftworld Biel-tan - Farseer Macha - now that Kyre's greed had begun to consume him during the Cyprus Campaign against the Blood Ravens and the Orks of Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter's Waagh.

With Macha's help, the two of them were able to save Taldeer and save the Galaxy from the Daemon of Acheron - with the help of Gabriel Angelos, Chapter Master of the Blood Ravens at the time, and Gorgutz. Now that the torment was over, Ronahn and Taldeer were finally able to head home. Or at least, that is what they thought as they were summoned before the great emissary of the new Death God - Ynnead, Yvraine. The wise leader of the Ynnari praised the two for their exploits in places like the Alreulian Sub-Sector and the Wandering World, and she offered them a place to stay, but she also wanted them to help with a specific mission within Segmentum Ultima. The remnants of the Craftworlds that they all knew within the Segmentum are still holding out in several sectors.

Hitting and running against anyone that they would consider a threat to while protecting the Soul Stones that they had left after the losses they had suffered during the Campaigns on Kronus, Sub-Sector Aurelia, and Cyprus. And now the Forces of the Formless Horror - largely the forces of She Who Thirsts - are making their bids to fight these Eldar before they can unite with their kin in Craftworld Os'tara and save their Soul Stones. She commanded Corsair Prince Eldrathain, and a few contingents of Howling Banshees, a squad of Rangers, a trio of Swooping Hawks, a pair of Wraithguards, and six squads of Guardians to give them support in the efforts.

Ronahn wanted to object to this, but it seemed her sister began to see yet another vision that involved the safety of their kin within the Segmentum. And usually when Taldeer had begun to have a vision, there was no possible way for Ronahn to object to the requests of Autarchs as it may have to involve him as well. Plus, saving what was left of their kin that were trapped on these planets would be an honorable endeavor that would help in prolonging their race for a few more centuries.

And now gathering up their kin that were on the planet Demeter was the last of their kin within the Segmentum. They were holding off the Forces of Chaos for as long as they could until their kin that had made it onto the Corsair Fleets that were going to take them to the Craftworld - safe and sound for the time being. The Forces of the Formless Horror coming at the two Eldar souls that have eluded the hated clutches of She Who Thirsts in full force, hoping to add these two their talley and please the Dark Prince. And yet, countless Daemons and Chaos Marines were slaughtered by their fury; a fury that was dealt to the siblings for over fifty years all thanks to She Who Thirsts. And these servants and Daemons were the recipients of that great fury.

To the Forces of Chaos, this was something that they haven't seen before - especially from the children that was once Craftworld Ulthwé. They were sending as many of their forces that they had on the planet, desperately trying to break these two, and then make a break for the Eldar that were fleeing from them. They were given word by their Chaos Psykers that a fleet led by the Knights of House Varlock, and the Space Marine Chapters of the Blood Angels and the Blood Ravens will arrive soon to help relieve them of this onslaught. So they were all fighting more desperately than before.

The Blood Ravens had helped the Eldar before and the Eldar of Ulthwé have given them some vital information in the past that led the Blood Ravens to many victories before the events of the Aurelian Crusades. And in destroying the Daemon of Acheron, and probably saving their home planet, the Knights of House Varlock had a debt to pay them, and it was a debt that these Knights were determined to repay them for helping in saving their corner of the Galaxy. And now these two factions within the Imperium were on their way to give their support to these siblings before they were consumed by Slaanesh. So what seemed like the endless tide of the Formless Horror needed to wrap this desperate mission up fast as possible before these forces combined to shatter what was left of them. However, it was unclear to the Chaos Psykers as to when the Imperium would arrive to relieve them of this blight with their brand new Primaris Marines.

Ronahn didn't trust these primitives, but Taldeer talked him into trusting them as she did have another - albeit brief vision as something had prevented her from seeing any more of that vision. This had surprised Ronahn, as she could see a full vision, as well as a full prophecy - and he only knew that Daemons were capable of shadowing visions or the truth behind stuff like prophecies, if they were powerful enough.

Looking straight up into the night sky… Ronahn could see the Corsair Fleets beginning to float straight up out of the atmosphere. And he knew what this meant. The Eldar, their kin that were on the planet before have fully boarded the Corsair ships and were on their way to safety within Craftworld Os'tara. They still needed to hold them off until they fully left the system.

"The last of our kin have finally left the world, through the Webway…" Ronahn called to his sister, still fighting a squad of Legionnaires of She Who Thirsts. He knew - deep down in his heart - this last mission was probably going to be their tomb within a sea of corpses and warp forged machines and weapons. But if they were to die here today, then they would know that the two of them had saved countless Eldar that have been left on these planets for many decades. "And now, we are alone. Against these hordes of the Great Enemy."

"Then let us make sure that She Who Thirsts suffers for devouring our souls then while we fall knowing that we have saved our kin here!" Taldeer hissed with an echo just before she struck down another Chaos Knight straight through its tough mechanical waist like it was a Warp powered blade going through an Ork.

If this was going to be their last stand… If this is where the two siblings were going to make this the place where they would finally die in both body and soul… Then they were going to make She Who Thirsts; they were going to make Slaanesh pay dearly for this desperate fight as much as they could. Unless the Humans make it just in time to their rescue, their fury comes to a zenith as they slaughter many more Daemons and Chaos Marines than before. And yet the Daemons and the Chaos Marines kept on coming, and coming like an unending deluge of water that has left a world an entire Water World.

And soon the amount of Chaos Knights began overwhelming Taldeer as she was able to parry a strike from one, but was blasted in the arm by another. Ronahn was not having any easy time as he was wounded in the arm by a Khorne Bloodletter, but killed it in return with a single hit to its neck. But then he was confronted by a Helbrute from the Thousand Sons - the vile sons of Magnus the Red - while a pair of Heldrakes from the spawns of Tzeentch, the Great Deceiver swooped down upon Taldeer as she pushed back those two Chaos Knights a few yards. They were ready to accept their fate, when they heard a familiar noise coming from the sky.

The sound of Warp Jump concluding as well as Varlock Knight transport came out of the Warp first - followed by a Battle Barge and three Strike Cruisers each from the Blood Angels as well as the Blood Ravens.

Hail Farseer Talder! Ranger and Spymaster Ronahn! The Knights of House Varlock have arrived to stand beside you in battle this day! A male voice said just as something fell straight down from the Imperial Knight transport in what looked like a fireball, but soon took the form of an Imperial Knight of House Varlock. The behemoth was armed with a gatling cannon as well as flamethrower on one arm, and a giant chainsaw on the other. It let out a puff of flames to make sure that it was functioning properly before it began marching towards the enemy at pace.

"As do the Blood Ravens and Blood Angels of the Adeptus Astartes!" Said one of the Blood Ravens that went by the name of Jonah Orion - the Blood Ravens' Chief Librarian with a booming voice just as several drop pods were sent down onto the planet. The famed Blood Angels race towards the Traitors with bolters and plasma guns blazing - with a squad of Blood Angels that have wings much like their Primarch, Sanguinius. Then came one of the a squad of the Blood Raven's finest Librarians and a devastator squad out of another. The siblings could tell that vengeance was dripping from their lips; vengeance that was kept deep inside their souls since the days of the Horus Heresy.

Ronahn wanted to retort, saying that they took long enough. But he knew that this Great Rift - created as a result of a Blackstone Fortress being sent crashing down upon the once great Human Fortress World of Cadia. So now, the Humans were fighting on all kinds of fronts in the galaxy. And traveling through the Warp has probably been more dangerous than ever. In the mind of Taldeer, she thought of how brave and yet foolish the primitives were trying everything that they could to save the galaxy.

"Ronahn!" She cried out, her Wraithknight bending down to protect her brother from an incoming pillar of light that overtook them and any of the Forces of Chaos or Daemons within twenty meters. But unknown to the siblings, this burned all Chaos Forces in not just body, but also destroyed the Daemons that were within the radius so much that they could not resurrect any more, meaning they were wiped out for good.

GENSHIN IMPACT X WARHAMMER

Arriving at the Gates of Liyue, the Traveler - Lumine walked with Paimon to see a large crowd had already gathered around for something. What could it be? The temptation was killing them as Paimon suggested that they would get closer to get a better look at what was going to happen.

Lumine did see a tall woman with golden-white hair. She was wearing gold, white, and brown silk-woven clothes. It was apparently time for the Rite of Descension today, and people in the city were flocking to join in the celebration.

"The hour is upon us." She began to say to the people as Lumine and Paimon moved through the crowd to get a better look. Her attendants turned to her and bowed to her. The lady summoned shards of earth out of thin air, circling her for a while. She was going to send the four shards to the table, but then something happened…

"Hey! What are those in the sky!" A civilian called out as everyone in the area instantly raised their heads up to look at the sky.

What they all saw - including Lumine, Paimon, and the lady - was a pair of stars; one an almost blood red, and the other an azur blue had begun falling out of the sky. Everyone except Lumine, Paimon, the lady, and her attendants began running away, thinking that those two were going to crash down upon the city. But those two differently colored stars suddenly moved up slightly into the air and crashed somewhere near Mt. Aocang, which was a long two thousand meters from Liyue Harbor. And a few seconds later was a loud crash coming from that exact direction.

"Uh, Traveler?" Paimon said to Lumine, the two looking at each other. "Wasn't that the same way you came here to Teyvat?"

"Yeah… That is exactly how I got here." She replied to her feeling shocked that this had happened again.

The lady turned to look at them, hearing exactly what she heard from her. "You… What did you say?" She said to her with a shocked look on her face.

GENSHIN IMPACT X WARHAMMER

His eyes beginning to stir from what he thought was a century-long nap, Ronahn could suddenly feel the softness of what he knew was grass on his person. His eyes then shot open to see white rolling mountains and hills with plentiful trees. The sound of winged creatures singing in the air, and the air itself being so gentle that it could be described as a stream in a lonely little forest. And in the galaxy are seldom this peaceful, these years not a planet was being spared the fires of war and destruction from places like the Imperium of Man, the Eldar Craftworlds, the Tombs of the Soulless Necrons, or even the scouring of the horrid maws of the Tyranid Hive Mind. Even a moon would not be spared all of that kind of violence.

And yet, to Ronahn… He had never felt so much peace in his entire life. But he could tell that this peace can be easily destroyed as he could also sense that there are evils within this world in particular. And yet, it felt strange - like it was intelligent, to an extent. It was waiting for something, something specific.

But then he began to see something head his and her sister's way. They seemed to be primitives of this world, though they seemed to be armed with clubs and primitive wooden shields. Their hair took the form of a mane that wrapped around their masked faces. There were three normal mortal sized creatures, followed by a hulking version of those smaller ones with a mask that was as tough as stone material. He was not too sure as to who or what they are, but his instincts kicked in, telling him to remain cautious as it tells him that there was a chance that these creatures were perhaps hostile.

"Primitive Creatures!" He called out to the creatures with his Ranger Long Rifle in hand and at the ready. He could tell that he had gotten their attention as their heads moved up to look at him. "Come no closer! Identify yourselves or be cut down by my Long Rifle!"

The Human-like creatures took a minute to register what he just said only before those three normal sized ones raised their shields with their clubs at the ready for what Ronahn took as read that they were ready for combat. Though he knew that they probably haven't seen such a weapon as his own - which was an advantage for him. He reached in the back of his Asuryani Cameleoline Cloak to feel that he still had his Shuriken Pistol in his holster, in the eventuality his Ranger Long Rifle ran out of ammunition. He saw that they were getting closer to him, meaning they were probably planning to harm him.

It was their mistake as Ronhan began firing at them, shooting one directly at the center of the forehead of one of the normal sized ones. It shocked the rest just before an object whirled past Ronahn's face, almost giving him a scratch on his face. This caused him to react and swing toward the direction where the object - which was a wooden arrow with a metal tip - came from, taking an instant shot at the attacker, but it didn't seem to hit it. It was a very quick reaction - this didn't allow Ronahn to take time to take better aim at the assailant. He then began to see it run off to a different location, he could see a primitive creature like the normal sized ones down on the dirt running off into the clouds of the mountains.

But then he turned to look back at the three other attackers only to find out that the three of them were right on top of him. His eyes as wide as grenades while he fell back with his other hand reaching for his Shuriken Pistol. But then, the ground began to shake around him, and the three attackers. He turned and looked up to see the Wraithknight of Taldeer beginning to stand up within the crater that she created the moment she hit the ground.

Her soul was still within the Soul Stone; the Soul Stone itself without a single crack on it, and she heard everything - in fact she had a vision of the attack. And she managed to get her Wraithknight moving once more, the sound of dirt falling off of it with it getting straight up out of the ocean. It began looking straight down at the four of them, the three beast-like creatures peering in the empty face of the Wraithknight - the later three thinking that they were glancing at an empty abyss as they backed away.

"UNHAND RONAHN!" She bellowed out with such a fury as she pulled her giant hulking sword out of the crater. She swung it directly in the path of these creatures, the ground beneath them exploding in a large wall of smoke and dust. This caused the creatures to be launched far back in shock until they faded away in large puffs of black clouds with shades of different colors that seemed dark. A product of She Who Thirsts? Would these creatures be yet another product of the Great Enemy; The Formless Horror? But these creatures didn't have the usual features of the Daemons of She Who Thirsts, like tendrils and claws that were etched with serrated barbs.

"Sister… You are finally awake… I am glad that you are still within the waking world." He began to say to his beloved sister as they began to look at each other.

"Yes… I could barely move the Wraithknight for a minute, but I managed to finally get it to finally move and protect you."

"Did you see my fall in a vision?"

"Yes… You would be killed by those primitive creatures swallowed by She Who Thirsts." She replied as they began to take in the scenery that was untouched from the fight. It was to be sure of a completely different world compared to any other that they have seen. The vegetation was all completely different from the foliage such as those from Typhon Primaris, Macragge, or Chigoris. The mountains were definitely shaped much more differently than the mountains that they were used to within the Segmentum. Were they on an undiscovered world within another Segmentum?

"This… This is not Demeter…"

"Indeed… And yet, I cannot sense our kin any longer… And the visions I had while on Demeter… It has subsided." She looked around as she spoke as she could still see things via the Aether, but it was visions of what she did see, she did not know about - at least not yet.

Peering through his high powered scope of his personal Ranger Long Rifle once again to see what he would consider Primate Architecture, architecture that the Imperium would use back in their ancient times. But there was a catch to all of this…

"It is Primitive Architecture, but it is different…" He began to say as his sister gave him a better height advantage to see what he could see. "There are square stone pillars with strange markings…"

Beyond that, he could see a village that was further South - a set of wooden structures in a very poor square. Farther North, there was a towering wooden structure that seemed to be at a vital point of strategic import, but to him… It was not mainly military, but it also seemed to be a civilian structure as well.

"Well if we need a way out of this… Mountain valley… We can head Northeast."

"The psychic energy here… It is very strong, and yet… It is different from what we know in this world."

Taldeer could indeed sense a strong psychic presence in this world, and it was indeed a strong psychic presence, but… It really did feel odd, like it did not match that of the Galaxy that she and her brother knew. She could read them as indeed Humans, but they were different from the Mon-keigh that she knew back in their galaxy. Were they in a whole new world, in a whole new galaxy?

"So powerful, and yet… It is rather powerful, and yet, so peaceful for a moment…" She said with a very surprised tone. "There is a lingering darkness that is ever growing… It is like a beating heart…"

"Excuse me!" An echoing female voice called out to them, Ronahn's ears picking up the noise from a certain distance.

Ronahn turned and saw what looked like a bird with emerald green feathers heading to their location. It then landed upon the palm of the Wraithknight's hand and looked at Ronahn with what looked like a blank stare. But then that voice came back again in a very rude tone of voice.

"And who just so happens to disturb one's work with this… Husk!"

Ronahn could tell that voice was right on top of him and soon found out that the voice was coming from this bird.

"A talking bird… That is a new one."

"Your rudeness is just unacceptable…" The bird said to him with an angry tone, making the Eldar think that they must have made her angry for some reason. "... One was busy working on another of my contraptions when your husk disturbed my work! Would you kindly take your husk out of here."

"I must ask for your forgiveness, madame fowl, but we have just made it to this world. It was then we were assailed by these…"

"Such arrogance…" The bird snarled with a tiny bit of squawk, her eyes looking directly at the Eldar with a face of anger. This was probably the first time for her to hear the personality of that of the Eldar in her entire life, but Ronahn could tell that she was pretty old. Though she was not really wrong as many Eldar have been very arrogant these days. "We? You are the only one here… You and this hulking husk."

"How dare you call my Wraithknight a husk." Taldeer said out of the blue, the bird getting spooked by the echoing voice before turning to look at what she called a husk who also looked down at her with the blank visor of the Wraithknight's head.

This had shocked the emerald fowl with her aqua green eyes turning as bone white as the Wraithknight's own coloration and sweat falling down her feathers. She was taken back by this sudden turn of events with her anger finally subsiding, but it had been quickly consumed by the feeling of shock and horror. She had looked at what she thought was an empty visor of this giant machine that was made of strange material. She wanted to respond to the machine, but the fact that it spoke so suddenly had left her in shock, still.

"I would suggest that you speak your next words carefully." Taldeer began to say to her again as Ronahn realized perhaps this would lead to Formless Horror finding this place, then the Great Enemy would send their minions to destroy this place. And he knew that she needed to know who they were before they would explain any further. He could tell that she spoke with authority, like she was one of the wise ones of this land. So Ronahn decided to take this in a bit of a diplomatic solution to this situation.

"We apologize for our transgressions, miss uh…"

"Cloud Retainer, one is called Cloud Retainer." She introduced herself with a calmer tone of voice, though she seems to have said that with a stutter probably due to the fact that she was still shocked at hearing the voice of Taldeer.

"Miss Cloud Retainer, we did not crash here on our own fruition as me and my sister had been sent here for whatever reason." He continued to talk with a calm tone. "When I awoke, we were assailed by these hairy primate-like creatures."

Cloud Retainer then looked at him with a curious look.

"You were fighting what are called Hilichurls and Lawachurl, they are minions of what is known as the Abyss Order." She explained to them. "And what do you mean by you didn't crash here by your own choice?"

"You see… We are not from this world." Ronahn replied, still getting over the fact that he is being the voice of reason as of now. "We come from a race of people known as the Eldar."

"One has never heard of such a race known as the Eldar, it is quite a boastful name of a race if you ask one."

"It is not a race that is part of this galaxy, or at least we assume."

"A galaxy?"

This had stopped Ronahn and Taldeer in their tracks. Did this world not know what was beyond what they could see in the night sky? Did they not have a sense of astronomy? Did they not know what many of the celestial bodies within the sky were? This was a complete surprise to them, and they need an easy solution to explain this in a way that this talking bird that calls herself Cloud Retainer.

Possible solutions as to how to explain what other planets, nebulas, and galaxies were to a primitive society was something difficult. But he was sure that they would have some form of an understanding of the stars - hopefully the movement of those within the night sky; a night sky that seems calm, but can be a deadly example of nature within the form of the void. So, it may be best to give the positive side of the void of space.

"Perhaps we should discuss things somewhere else."

To be continued in Chapter Two…
