Here is chapter six. I might go on a hiatus for this story to update my other stories. I just figured I would do this now to get the creative juices free. I have some live-streaming channels if you want to watch me. No commentary, but there is terrible gameplay. linktr.ee /alcoruzukaze.
Demon Lord Jade was thoroughly impressed with the Nomu project. So much so she almost considered poaching All For One's private doctor. But it was best not to push things too much to give an air of equality, even if All For One was already aware of the dynamics between the newly established allies.
Aside from meeting the architect of the Nomu, she had met All For One's… successor. She wasn't impressed and wasn't shy about making that known. In retaliation, the brat tried to attack her with his Quirk, a five-point activated disassembly of natural bonds into raw elements the size of dust particles. Boy, was he shocked when he made skin-to-skin contact, and Jade's body didn't whither. Ah, the blessing of the Advanced Skill, [Stability] which keeps her physical form from deteriorating through artificial means unless she were unconscious or out of magic. Interestingly, said quirk felt artificial in some capacity when she scanned him, but whatever. Tomura Shigaraki was not her subordinate, so caring about him wasn't her job.
Jade switched places in space with her duplicate and dismissed the clone. [Alter Ego] filtered in and quickly caught Jade up to speed. 'Man, it was hard pretending to be you.'
'You are me.' Jade argued with the skill.
'Technically, but I have fewer reservations about profanity. At least Mom didn't know what those words meant.'
Jade's right eye twitched. Sometimes, she really hated that skill. Ah, well, there's no point in dwelling on a small piece of herself. A sudden magic ping bounced in her head as she prepared for bed. She paused and held out her hand. "Summon, [Leooch.]" The well-dressed demon made from her magic appeared in her shadow.
"I live to serve." He raised his head. "My Lord, a conference has been called soon. According to Braxi's calculations, the estimated time is the day after tomorrow, roughly mid-day."
Jade nodded. "Thank you for reporting."
"Shall I prepare myself and your two other regular attendants?" He asked.
Jade shook her head. "Actually, no." The demon looked confused. "I've gained a new ally, and as a sign of good faith, I'll bring him and one other. You and I will be the only ones from our camp." She decreed.
"Well," Leooch began, "That's a shock. I don't remember you making deals with humans. What's different about this one?"
Jade smiled. "He brings a… unique touch. That's all you need to know for now." She said with an edge to her voice.
Leooch got the hint and dropped the topic. "I live to serve." He disappeared without any more words.
Jade sighed and pulled out the phone All For One had given her as a gift. It ran through one of his shell companies, which helped to avoid any trackers. She promptly texted him to be ready with a chosen compatriot, as a Demon Lord Conference had been called. When she next saw him, she would need to impart the importance of not speaking out of turn. As an "Attendant," he couldn't suddenly jump into a discussion without a sitting Demon Lord addressing him. Nixes was firm on the few rules he followed. And she should also tell All For One to avoid Nixes at all costs. Jade couldn't protect the human from Nixes, even if she expended all her strength.
Ah, well, she would deal with that later. Now, it was bedtime.
The following morning, Jade spoke to her mother. Inko recognized her recently found daughter's independence and didn't fight it when Jade said she'd be out for a while, maybe even through the following day. Jade wanted to relax, get some drinks, and hopefully get a one-night stand with some hot chick before she went back into Demon Lord politics. Inko went beet red at the insinuation of sex but said nothing more as she handed over a sizable amount of cash.
As Jade left the apartment, she took on a new form that matched what, in her mind, an adult human version of her would look like. It mixed elements from the human form the world forced into her and the Demonoid form she was accustomed to. Jade used her phone, the one her mother bought, to guide her to a popular tourist spot, where she could explore some old Japanese culture and get some drinks. She was curious to see the strength of the alcohol of this world.
As she rode the bus, she watched the world move past her. It was incredible how far humanity had come without magic… until quirks came. It seemed that development slowed, if not stopped, whenever humanity was granted some supernatural source of power. This was true of Magic in Lagurdia and also here with Quirks.
She would have to make plans to keep scientific development on track. Imagine if ordinary beings could traverse the stars. Perhaps they could discover new worlds with life, ready to be ruled by Demon Lords such as herself. After all, Earth and Lagurdia alone were only a tiny fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the observable universes.
Jade hopped off the bus and got on a high-speed train. This would allow her to travel to Tokyo faster than the bus alone. She resumed her watch until the train suddenly stopped. "Attention, passengers, a Villain has held up the train. Please wait until a Hero can make their way here." The intercom spoke.
The train car shook as vibrations went through the rail. Jade pressed her face against the window and saw a plume of smoke a few blocks ahead of the engine bay. She wasn't interested in waiting but didn't want to draw unnecessary attention. What to do, what to do? As she was thinking, a figure flew right by her window.
The individual was dressed in a white costume and had rabbit adaptations. She was also short but gave off two-meter energy with that feral grin. And that darker skin contracted with the white hair and red eyes. 'She's hot.' Jade couldn't help thinking. Maybe she'd be up for a one-night fling?
Jade pulled out her phone and looked up any heroes with the woman's features. "Miruko, huh." Jade smiled. That was easy. "Says she's relatively new as a hero and is ranked in the mid-100s. But she's expected to rise quickly with her "loner" attitude."
Well, Jade couldn't fault men for thinking about that. It was hot. It was too bad the car was sealed; otherwise, Jade would have gone out and tried to meet the woman. Maybe she'll be lucky and meet the white-haired rabbit again in different circumstances. "Attention, passengers, the Villain has been taken into custody, and the train will resume shortly. Thank you for being so patient." That was fast. It only took just shy of two minutes.
A minute later, the train resumed its trek to Tokyo Central. About 20 minutes passed, and Jade was off the train, walking down the busiest city in the country. Maybe the world. Even during mid-day, it was loud and bustling. Jade decided to poke into a small, sweet shop she noticed down the street.
"Welcome!" A man behind the counter greeted the woman. "Is this your first time here?"
Jade nodded. "What kind of unique treats do you have?" She asked, being polite.
The man struck a thinking pose. "Our shop specializes in chocolate, but we also sell some taffy from a sister shop in Kyoto." The man told her. "If you want mainstream brands, check out the supermarket across the street."
Jade thought for a moment. "Where are the milk chocolate bars?" She asked.
The man pointed to one of the aisles, and Jade grabbed a couple of bars. She also stopped at a fridge and got herself chocolate milk. "Just these three, please."
The man nodded. "That'll be 850 yen."
Jade nodded and handed over a 1000-yen bill. She got 150 in change back and left with her treat. She noticed a bench under a small tree on the sidewalk and sat down to eat. In Japan, eating and walking are considered rude, so she nibbled on her chocolate as she relaxed in the shade.
Jade's eyes sparkled. 'So good.' The chocolate was creamy and melted perfectly on her tongue. Lagurdia didn't have nearly as good sweets. She practically had to fight back a moan. Ok, it was official. Lagurdia candy was no more for her. Now, it was Earth or bust. She devoured the rest of the first bar and sipped on her chocolate milk.
'Oh, that's even more creamy.' The chilled milk with the chocolate made for a perfect drink. Lagurdia did have chocolate milk, but the magic tools used to keep the milk at a stable temperature weren't ideal. So, some will taste colder than others, and the chilliness of a drink affects the pleasure.
She finished her food and put the trash in the small bag she was given. She would have to locate a trash can later, but it was time to explore for now. She pulled out her phone and looked for famous Tokyo culture spots. The third result was only a couple of kilometers away—perfect!
She hopped on a bus that would take her closer and rode it to her stop. She dumped the garbage in a trash can at the large bus stop and walked down the street. As she approached, she noticed a few tourists walking around. Supposedly, her destination was a shrine dedicated to sealing away some spirit.
She approached the shrine and looked up. She could practically taste the history and culture. Well, she was technically older than the building, but at the same time, chronologically, it came before her. She walked up the stairs and looked around. The place was as well-kept as you could expect a tourist spot.
Jade stopped and read some info on a plastic display. 'So this was the rumored spot a nasty demon was sealed?' She thought. If something demonic were sealed here, she certainly didn't sense it. It must just be folklore.
She continued her self-tour of the shrine before her boredom got to her. She left the shrine and walked to the next one. There was a pause in her step. Something was bound in this shrine. It wasn't demonic. But it felt like nothing she felt before. The closest she could compare it to was simple sprits commonly found in Lagurdia Forests. She turned and walked away. Jade will investigate later after the conference.
Now it was time for drinks.
Jade entered the more seedy area of Tokyo. Only a few bars were open in the early afternoon as most people were still working, but one stood out of the ones that were. It had a pride flag in the window. Jade smirked. If there were anywhere she was going to get a gay hookup, it would be there.
She approached the front door and was stopped by a big, burly guy. "Hey. You of age?" The muscular man asked.
Jade only raised a single eyebrow. "Yes? But you need my ID to prove it." She guessed. She didn't want to rely on magic, but an ID verifying her age wasn't yet available.
The man shook his head. "No, just give me a handshake. My quirk allows me to determine one's age through that action."
Interesting quirk. It keeps underage drinkers out, even with the best of fakes. "I thought quirk use without a hero license was illegal." She sarcastically asked.
"So is gay sex in Japan, but no one is going to prosecute such a minor crime." The giant man replied. He held out his hand. Jade shook it without hesitation. "…I don't know if you have some fast-aging quirk or time travel is involved, but you're old enough. Go on in." He said with a sigh. He must have seen the multi-century number.
Jade entered the establishment. She took in the few people already present. A couple of gay men chatting it up. An androgynous person was drinking in the corner. And a group of three women laughing about the world. She paused. One of them looked shockingly like her ex. She had the same blue hair and identical fins on the sides of her head where her ears would typically be. The only difference was that she looked younger, and her eyes were slightly different in shape.
Jade shook her head in turn. 'Nope, not going to open that can of worms.' She wasn't going to fuck someone who looked so much like the ex she broke up(read: still loved) with. The other two were plenty hot. Jade sat at the bar table and slapped a decent stack of bills on the tabletop. "Give me something of moderate strength." She would give the girls time to approach her; then, if nothing happened, she'd approach them.
The bartender said nothing as he filled a glass.
The trio were talking amongst themselves. The first was Sirius, a Pro-Hero part of the Oki Mariner Crew. She rarely came this far into the land to drink. Still, she wanted to catch up with her two friends, Tomoko Shiertoko, known as Pro-Hero Ragdoll, and Pro-Hero and Sidekick, Bubble Girl, real name Kaoruko Awata. This bar happened to be the best place between where the three worked.
She needed to keep a level head for the night shift she was having later, so she limited herself to two shots of a low-alcoholic beverage. The other two had nothing going on for the rest of the day, so they were far more open with their drinks. Sirius sighed.
"What's wrong?" Tomoko asked as she sipped her glass.
"Just tired." Sirius muttured. "I've been busy the past few days as I've not slept well."
"You could ask for a day off to sleep in." The cat-themed hero suggested. "Selkie isn't the type to force you to work when you don't have the energy."
"I know," Sirius groaned, "But he depends on my quirk for the operations. He can't do much without me besides paperwork and beach patrolling."
"Girl, you need some fun in bed." Kaoruko jumped in. "Why not that hot little number that just walked in?" The blue-skinned girl suggested.
Sirius facepalmed. "First, no, I have work tonight. Second, that green-haired woman froze when looking at me. My guess is some kind of past issue with an ex." Sirius put down her shot. "Actually, why don't you go and talk to her? You mentioned that you will not be needed at Nighteye's until tomorrow afternoon." The sea fairing hero suggested with a smirk.
Bubble Girl's cheeks turned purple. "HEY WAIT! Why me? Why not Tomoko?"
Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Isn't she dating someone?" She turned to look at Ragdoll.
"Eh?" Tomoko said weakly. "Sort-of? They and I are currently having issues, and I don't want to rock the boat by having a fling behind their back." The cat hero deflected.
"Huh, that sucks, but I can admire your loyalty," Sirius said. "Ah well, go on ahead, Kaoruko. Wow, us."
The blue-skinned girl took a deep breath and stood up. She slowly approached the green-haired woman at the bar table.
"Hello there." The blue-haired cutie greeted Jade. "I'm Kaoruko Awata."
Jade turned and studied her features. The Demon Lord held out a hand. "Jade Midoriya. And word of caution: I'm not looking for a long-term thing—more of a one-night stand."
Kaoruko took a deep breath and shook the hand. "That's fine. I have a hectic life, so I can't focus on a relationship. But you are stunning."
Jade smirked. "Oh, what a charmer."
Nezu sat in his office. The students had gone home, and most of the facility was leaving at that hour. Now that the building was empty, he could perform the necessary action to garner Nixes' attention.
He needed a vast open space and writing utensils. The outdoor courtyard would work, and nobody would ask what he was doing. He had yet to come clean to his staff about his background, but with the likelihood of a conference around the corner, he couldn't wait till tomorrow.
He grabbed a box of chalk from a supply closet and went outside. He measured the correct dimensions and drew a line. Next was the hard part. He needed to fill the circle with the proper characters and channel magic into the circle. One wrong letter and UA would be vaporized. Another reason why he waited until he was alone.
He agonized over the correct letters as it had been a while since he last summoned one of Nixes' feathers. If Jade hadn't forced his hand, he probably would've put it off for later. Over an hour later, he was 89.98652% certain this was the correct combination. He didn't like gambling when he was less than 95% certain, but he didn't have a choice.
He pushed magic into the chalk-made circle, and it lit up in a silver glow. That was an excellent sign. If it had been any color other than silver, it was wrong. Soon, the circle faded away, and a small silver feather appeared, floating. An eye snapped open on the feather. A voice bounced in Nezu's head.
"What is this?" Nixes muttered to himself in Lagurdia as he felt a part of his mind move at a speed differing from the rest. He paused as he made a visual connection with his feather. "Wait, is that…" He grinned. "It is."
His only intellectual rival. Demon Lord Nezu. He ignored the rest of his body and focused on the single feather that was summoned. 'Hello Nezu, I thought you had died when you disappeared without a trace.'
Nezu nodded. "Yes, Demon Lord Nixes. I suppose it would look that way. But what happened was that I somehow ended up in this alternative universe without personal input."
'And why contact me now, thousands of years later?' The fallen seraphim asked.
Nezu frowned as much as he could. "Actually, it would be mere decades for me. Time moves much slower here than in Lagurdia. As for my reason… it would be Demon Lord Jade."
Nixes' eyes widened. 'Ah, I get it now. So this world is where Jade originated from and was sent back to. And now that she's there, she wants to take it herself. I can applaud her commitment.' Nixes knew that Jade had disappeared following a run-in with a hero wannabe. He just didn't know where she had gone.
"Yes, well, that's precisely it. I wish to rejoin the Demon Lords and fight Jade's influence before she takes this world for her own. She might've been born here, but that doesn't automatically make her entitled to it." Nezu argued.
'Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, ok.' Nixes made a show of thinking about it when his mind was already made up. Nezu was the closest thing to a friend, not counting Leviathan. His relationship with Leviathan was more of a platonic partnership than a friendship. Nezu was one of the few Nixes would even admit to enjoying company with. 'I'll send one of my servants to fetch you when the time is right. Be prepared with your three attendants, and the current Demon Lords will vote on whether to bring you back in.'
It was practically a done deal. Nixes commanded respect as both the eldest and most powerful of the Demon Lords. 'I hope you picked up a few new games to play in this alternative world.'
Nezu nodded. "That will depend on if I have the time. I'm an educator now."
Nixes blinked. But then again, it wasn't that shocking, as Nezu previously liked cultivating talent in his subordinates. Why not teach in this other world? 'Ah, fun. Well, I hope you'll tell me about this other world and allow me to tour your teaching facilities at one point.'
Nezu smiled, but Nixes knew he was frowning on the inside. "I can certainly do that. I look forward to giving the tour to just you." No, he wasn't, but Nezu couldn't deny Nixes.
The feather then burned up, and the connection was cut. Nixes' awareness returned to snapping fingers in his face. "What?" He asked sarcastically as he looked at Primordial Entity White.
White raised an eyebrow. "You were out of it for hours. What were you doing?" She asked.
Nixes smiled. "Conversing with Nezu. He has found himself in a new world."
White hummed in thought. 'New world? It couldn't be one of the worlds I visited, right?' She wondered. As a powerful being, she couldn't be contained within any single world and often explored the vast expanse of infinity times infinity. Many worlds stood out, and of them, one, in particular, was memorable as she happened to sire twin children within it. White could mold her body as needed, so getting the right tool wasn't tricky.
'Nah. What are the odds.' She dismissed the thought.
All For One had Kurogiri and Tomura with him at his lair. He couldn't bring both, as Jade had limited him to just one extra. Tomura was still in a state where he was easy to trigger, and Kurogiri was needed to keep him calm. So he decided to bring an experimental Nomu.
"Now, Tomura, I'm going to be busy for a while, so I need you to listen to Kurogiri, ok?"
Tomura grumbled like a man child, "Stupid Demon Lord chick."
All For One fought the urge to sigh. Sooner or later, this would all be worth it when Tomura's body was his own. "Just listen to Kurogiri for now. I'll be gone for a bit and taking one of the Nomu with me." A small dog like Nomu walked forward.
This Nomu was equipped with recording and digital conversion quirks. It was sort of like Project Acoustic Kitty, only less dumb because the Nomu obeyed every command. All For One also keyed in Jade as a secondary, with himself and the Doctor as primary.
"You both can leave." The butler bowed, and the pair left. "Doctor, are you there?"
A voice came over a line. "Yes, sir."
"Continue on track with our current projects. And be prepared for a potential asset as an assistant." He and Jade discussed sharing personnel, but it would be kept at a minimum to limit the ability to sabotage one another.
"Understood. And good luck."
All For One smirked under his breathing mask. "I don't need luck."
A phone rang on a nightstand. There was a groan. "…that's yours." A green-haired woman mumbled as she tried to remain sleeping.
The blue-skinned woman moaned as she slapped her hand on her phone and put it up to her ear. "…Sir. It's 4 in the morning. I'm not supposed to come in until noon." Kaoruko said into the receiver. "…Fine. If it's an emergency, just… just give me a half hour to get there."
The line went silent as Bubble Girl groaned. "Stupid job. Stupid hours." She turned to Jade. "Can you let yourself out when you wake up?" Jade mumbled in the affirmative. "Make sure to lock the door knob before you go." She trusted Jade not to do anything. Not that she had anything of real value in her apartment. She didn't make much as a sidekick.
Bubble Girl got out of bed, the blanket slipping off her naked body. After that wild night, she needed a shower and some food.
Jade yawned as she got up. She looked at where Kaoruko was last seen sleeping. "A shame she had to go in early. I would have loved some morning fun. Hopefully, she doesn't mind if I use her shower."
Jade looked for a clean towel in the cabinet and found a medium-sized one. It would do. Fifteen minutes later, Jade was done showering in her clothes from the day before. "Let's see, it's seven. That's good. I can get home, grab an energy bar, and be ready for the conference."
Jade grabbed her phone and any personal items she was carrying when invited in. She locked the door behind her, confirming she couldn't open and left the complex with a pep in her step. That night was exactly what she needed. And she exchanged numbers with Kaoruko so future meet-ups could be set up.
She made it back home by nine-thirty. "Hey, mom." She greeted her mother.
"Did you have fun?" Inko asked her daughter.
Jade grinned. "Definitely. If anything, she was more a demon in bed than me." She cackled when her mother's face went beet red. "Sorry, shouldn't tease like that."
"I-it's fine. I expected it when I realized you weren't a kid anymore." Inko stuttered. "Just us, please keep such details to yourself."
"Got it." Jade left for her room without another word. She switched out of her casual clothes into her Demon Lord regalia. She then pulled out her second phone and texted All For One.
'Ready to go?'
'Yep.'
'Cool, I'll meet you at your place.'
Jade vanished into shadows and left for All For One's Base.
"Aw, who's this little guy?" Jade asked as she bent down and scratched the cheek of the dog Nomu.
"That would be my plus one." All For One said as he stood up with his Dark Lord Mask firmly on his head. "A specialty Nomu with recording and digitizing quirks. So that the Conference can be recorded for later review."
Jade thought for a moment. "Well, that's not exactly against the rules, so it'll be fine. Oh, I must warn you, there is one Demon Lord you must avoid angering at all costs. Nixes. He's the one with the six angel wings. I would lose 100 percent in a fight against him."
All For One frowned under his mask. "Noted. Would you consent to a temporary mind bridge between us? I have a quirk that allows thoughts to be shared, but the other party must consent first." He asked.
Jade shrugged as she continued petting the abomination. "I guess that's fine. But no funny business, or my [Alter Ego] will kick you out." A connection was established, and Jade could hear All For One's voice in her head.
'Shall we go?' He asked.
'We shall.' Jade thought in turn. She left a duplicate behind as a waypoint and opened a gate to her castle.
Nezu looked at All Might, Tsukauchi, and Midnight. The three he had chosen to act as "Attendants." Each provided a unique touch that made them ideal. All Might for his raw power, Tsukauchi for his ability to detect falsehoods, and Midnight for her ability to incapacitate without harm.
"I suspect that we'll soon be summoned," Nezu said as he stood on his desk.
"Uh, question, what is all this?" The R-rated hero asked.
Nezu turned to his employee. "Ah. I'm a demon lord from another world, and I am rejoining the group of demon lords of that world to combat the influence of Demon Lord Jade. The quote un-quote, Young girl, you arrested not too long ago."
Nemuri blinked as she turned to Tsukauchi. The detective nodded. "You know, I should be shocked by that." The only woman in the room started, "But I've grown used to the absurd."
Nezu hummed. "Noted." He turned towards the clock. "Now, according to Nighteye's quirk, one of Nixes' servants will appear here two minutes after noon. All Might, did you keep yourself from doing any work this morning?" The Stout-like Demon Lord asked.
"Correct!" The Number One stated. The hidden message was that All Might could hold his form just long enough for the conference. According to Nezu, they rarely lasted longer than two hours at a time and often split apart into more conferences later on the calendar.
"Excellent." Nezu looked at Tsukauchi. "You have a recorder on hand?"
"Yes."
Nezu smiled. "That's everything." A tear in space appeared to his right. "And that's our ride, right on time."
An individual with silver skin and pure white eyes smiled. "Demon Lord Nezu and Attendants?" Nezu nodded. "Excellent. Please, follow me."
The four followed into the portal. Talking was heard, which grew louder until they got to the other side. It was a massive room and a table in the center. There were ten seats, nine already occupied. "So we agree? By majority vote, Nezu is returned to the demon lord table." A six-winged individual stated.
Nezu studied the room and froze on a single person. Not someone sitting, no, it was someone standing: a black mask and that massive tie-less suit. The white-furred Demon Lord turned to All Might in a panic. "ALL MIGHT DON'T-"
But it was too late. "ALL FOR ONE!" All Might roared as he took a step forward towards the quasi-immortal human. The Number 1 Pro Hero then burst into a fine mist of red, covering Nezu, Midnight, and Tsukauchi in crimson. It was so fast that no one reacted in time. Not even the most powerful Demon Lords.
The one who was speaking earlier cleared his throat. "Let this be clear to all attendants." A dark look overtook Nixes' face. "Spontaneous fights will NOT be tolerated."
'Oh my god.' Nemuri shivered. 'What have I walked into?!'
So… I'm a girl—Trans or whatever. It's a horrible time to have sudden self-realizations, but I will claw my way out if someone wants to force me to sit in a neat little box. Anyways, if you want to support me or join me for silent game streams, it's linktr.ee /alcoruzukaze for all those links.
