Hello all Storm here with chapter three! Here we'll be seeing Yuko taking on The Sledgehammer, though we won't see much of the actual duel given it'll be the same as it happened in canon, so no big changes to see. Instead it'll mainly focus on Naruto's own reaction to the duel and first use of Pendulum Summoning, and a surprise at the end of the chapter. So, without further ado.

After trying and failing to find Yuko after she left, Yuzu, Skip and Gong decided it to head to the arena and hope Yuko would arrive. None of them wanting her to end up being labeled a coward by everyone, like Yūshō had been.
With the three arriving to see the entire arena filled with hundreds of spectators, watching the current duels taking place.
"Okay, okay. Yuko's duel hasn't started yet, so there's still time for her to get here." Said Yuzu, seeing they weren't too late for the start of Yuko's duel.
"Let's hope so, because her reputation and the fate of You Show are on the line." Skip said, knowing a lot is riding on this duel.
"Don't worry, she'll be here." Said Naruto, getting the threes attention as they turned towards the Uzumaki walking towards them.
"What, Naruto? How long have you been here?" Questioned Gong, not expecting to see him already here.
"Just a couple minutes before you guys showed up." Naruto replied, having arrived at the arena not too long ago, having split off from Yuko when she said she needed to get a few things ready.
"What did you mean? How can you be sure Yuko's going to show up?" Yuzu asked, going back to what he said, that Yuko is going to be here.
"Just trust me, Yuko's not running away from this." Assured Naruto, making them look at him curiously, but before they could question him further they heard Nico take the stage to announce the match.
"You fans have been clamoring for this duel and it's finally happening! Three years ago, the famous Dueltainer, Yūshō Sakaki failed to defend his title against The Sledgehammer! Now Sakaki's own daughter will try to erase that disgrace!" Nico announced as the large screens around the arena showed Yuko and The Sledgehammer.
"I really hope you're right, Naruto." Said Yuzu, hoping Naruto's right and Yuko does show up.
"Gong's gut says she will be here." Gong stated, believing Yuko will arrive, and knowing her it'll be something to try and make people laugh.
"All right! Then we'll get our ARC-" Skip said, eager to get that free ARC System, only to be cutoff when Yuzu smacked him with her paper fan.
"Not the time!" Yuzu said, giving her father an annoyed look.
"Now, let's get this grudge match underway! Here goes! Time to activate the field…Castle of Chaos!" Declared Nico as the Action Field Spell Card appeared in his hand, activating the ARC System and transforming the arena.
"I tell you, people, this ARC technology blows my mind! The field it's generating is so real you can actually climb the castle walls or toss your mother-in-law in the dungeon!" Nico joked with the castle, forest and lake being created on the field.
Before everyone looked to the top of the castle when they saw The Sledgehammer himself had arrived.
"It's him! Guys and girls, presenting Leo Institute's top Action Duelist and reigning world champion! He's the biggest, baddest bruiser to ever pick up a deck…Strong Ishijima, The Sledgehammer!" Declared Nico, with The Sledgehammer giving a battle cry getting his fans cheering, hoping to see a duel this time.
"His challenger is a kid with a mission! Everybody give it up for Yuko Sakaki!" Nico said, motioning to where Yuko should be, only for her to be nowhere in sight.
"Yay, Yuko!" Cheered Skip before realizing that she still hadn't arrived.
"Kid, that's your cue!" Said Nico, looking around for any sign of Yuko, but the dual-haired girl wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"The little girl ain't even gonna show up."
"Yeah, she must be a scaredy cat just like her old man."
"Guess the apple don't fall far from the bush."
"Say what?!" Yuzu demanded, glaring at the guys who were insulting Yuko, looking ready to go hit them next only for Naruto and Gong to stop her.
"Not now, Yuzu." Said Gong, knowing they couldn't have her starting a fight.
"But Gong!" Yuzu said, hating what they were saying about their friend.
"He's right, Yuzu. Just ignore the losers, they talk big but would probably turn tail and run if they were ever challenged to a duel by a reigning champion!" Naruto said, while making sure to say loud enough for the ones insulting Yuko to hear.
Giving them a deadly glare when they turned to glare at him, only to immediately turn away at the sight of his eyes flashing red.
"See? All bark, no bite." Naruto stated while smirking, with Yuzu calming down at seeing them put in their place.
While at the top of the castle, Ishijima was annoyed at seeing Yuko hadn't shown up. Wondering if she had run away like her father did.
"I was hoping if I challenged the kid, her father would show up. I must defeat Yūshō Sakaki in a one-on-one duel to prove I am deserving to be the true champion!" Ishijima said, having hope that Yūshō would show up instead, given he can't truly be considered the Ultimate King if he hasn't beaten Yūshō.
Unknown to The Sledgehammer, a girl dressed up as a clown appeared behind him and began making faces behind his back to the confusion of the audience. With Yuzu, Skip and Gong looking in disbelief, realizing what was happening but also hoping they were wrong.
"Please tell me that isn't who I think it is." Yuzu said, really hoping she's wrong, only to hear Naruto chuckling beside her.
"She said she needed to get ready, it looks like she did." Naruto stated, finding it pretty funny.
"Sledgehammer, behind you!"
"Turn around!"
Hearing the shouts from the audience, Ishijima was confused at what they were talking about until he turned to see the clown behind him, making faces and dancing.
"Wha? Are you supposed to be Yūshō's brat? Is this how you respect the champion?!" Ishijima demanded when Yuko jumped away from him while mockingly bowing to him before tossing aside her mask.
"The one and only! Sorry for being late, but I'm here and ready now! So what do you say, ready to get this show on the road? Or, should I say, on the castle!" Said Yuko as she activated her duel disk, with her deck popping out and the holographic card zones appearing.
"Now let's see if you're as great as everyone says you are!" Yuko said, determined to win this duel and show everyone her own Dueltaining.
"For such a little clown, you have a big mouth! You won't be so insolent once The Sledgehammer squashes you!" Said Ishijima, activating his duel disk, seeing if Yūshō really won't show up to duel him then he'll settle for his brat.
"It looks like sparks are flying and they haven't even started dueling yet! Okay, duelists, get your five cards in hand and get set to battle!" Said Nico upon seeing the duel would be happening, with Yuko and The Sledgehammer drawing their cards.
"Our duelists and their decks are primed for an epic showdown like nothing you've ever seen before! As we kick off this contest, the whirlwind action will leave you breathless! It'll be the duel to end all duels! Only the toughest duelist will survive this face-off! Are you ready?!" Said Nico, holding his hand in the air as he snapped his fingers, causing the Action Cards to disperse across the field.

"I hope you're ready little girl! Make your first move, just don't forget no drawing on the first turn in an Action Duel!" Said Ishijima, allowing Yuko to go first, believing he'll win regardless.
"All right, show time!" Yuko said before twirling around as she jumped on top of the castle tower.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Yuko Spectacular! For my first move, I'm going to make a spectacular getaway!" Declared Yuko as she grabbed a zipline and glides down to the bottom of the field, much to The Sledgehammer's surprise.
"What?!" Said Ishijima, wondering what exactly she's planning by doing that.
"And to help me make my escape…I'll summon Performapal Hip Hippo!" Yuko said, summoning her monster to the field.

Hip Hippo appeared tipping his hat to the audience, with Yuko landing on her monsters back once she reached the bottom before waving back at The Sledgehammer.
"Yo, Sledgehammer, why don't you try and catch me!" Yuko said as she rode Hip Hippo off into the forest to the disbelief of the audience.
"What is she doing?! She's supposed to duel, not run away!" Said Yuzu, wondering what exactly Yuko thought she was doing.
"Just keep watching, Yuko has a plan, I'm sure." Naruto said, doubting that the dual-haired girl would just run away.
"Well she better think of something fast, cause The Sledgehammer ain't pulling any punches here." Stated Gong as they watched him activate Feast of the Wild LV 5.
Letting him special summon Swamp Battleguard and Lava Battleguard, at the cost of negating their effects. Though it didn't matter as he then tributed them to bring out Battleguard King, his ace monster, as it tore apart several trees letting out a loud roar.
"The Sledgehammer summoned a monster as mean as he is! I wouldn't want to be in Yuko's clown shoes!" Nico said, riling the crowd up as they cheered at seeing the Sledgehammer's ace.
'So that's her plan.' Thought Naruto smirking when The Sledgehammer tried attacking Yuko, only for her to play an Action Card, Evasion, saving Hip Hippo from being destroyed.
The Uzumaki realizing what Yuko's plan was when she went into the forest, that she was looking for where the Action Cards had landed. Giving her an advantage to know where they are and where she needed to be when The Sledgehammer attacked.
"Why doesn't Yuko stand and fight? She can't keep avoiding-" Said Gong, feeling annoyed that Yuko thought she could win just by avoiding the attacks.
"She's not just avoiding the attacks and she's not running away either. Yuko's simply doing things her way." Naruto said, getting their attention.
"He's right." Said another person, making them look to see Yuko's mother, Yoko Sakaki, approaching them.
Yoko is a fairly tall and youthful-looking woman of slender built with green eyes and light skin. She has long blond hair the front bangs being golden in color. Her hair is tied in a ponytail and sections out as spikes. Her bangs part to the right side and frame her face. She was wearing an aqua-colored long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans with brown low shoes. She also had several accessories with silver big-loop earrings, two golden bands on her left wrist, and a small golden necklace hanging under her neck.
"Yoko, hi!" Skip said, surprised to see her here, though supposed she would be come to watch her daughter's duel.
"Who's that?" Naruto asked, leaning close to Yuzu.
"That's Yuko's mom, Yoko Sakaki." Replied Yuzu, much to Naruto's surprise.
"That's her mom?! But she's…so young!" Said Naruto, not expecting that with how young Yoko looked, he would've thought it's Yuko's older sister.
"Thank you, I do try to stay in shape. But I'm already taken big boy." Yoko said with a teasing wink, much to Naruto's embarrassment.
"N-n-no-no, no, no! I-I didn't mean anything like that! I'm just…surprised that you're Yuko's mom since you look…" Naruto said before stopping, not wanting to end up saying anything he shouldn't.
"Relax, no need to freak out." Said Yoko with an amused smile before looking back at her daughter duel, smiling proudly at she's doing.
"And you're right, Yuko's not simply running away. She's reinventing herself while she's dueling and it's pretty cunning what she's doing now." Yoko said, knowing since Yūshō vanished, her daughter had been hiding her true feelings by acting like a clown but now she's working to stand on her own.
"I hope you're right…Look!" Said Yuzu, seeing The Sledgehammer activated Battleguard King's ability, letting it attack twice because he summoned it by tributing a Battleguard monster.
With it looking like Hip Hippo was destroyed, only for everyone to be surprised when Yuko emerged from the smoke on her Hippo's back. Revealing she used another Action Card, Miracle, saving Hip Hippo from being destroyed and halving the damage she would've taken.

"I guess Yuko's not doing bad, but I still don't see what she's up to." Yuzu said, seeing Yuko's holding her own so far, but she's still confused about her strategy.
"She was locating Action Cards. That's why she ran off into the forest, she was seeing where they were located so she knew where she needed to go during The Sledgehammer's turn. Leaving her ready to grab an Action Card when he attacked." Said Naruto, surprising Yuzu, Skip and Gong at the revelation.
"Right again. It's not just that either, for the past three years Yuko's been hiding herself behind the mask of a clown. She made fun of herself before anyone else could make fun of her because of her father. Yuko idolized Yūshō, to her, he wasn't just a great duelist, he was a hero. And now Yuko has a chance to be like her father and prove he was a hero." Yoko said, understanding what her daughter was trying to prove.
"Yuko isn't trying to prove what a great duelist Yūshō Sakaki was. She's going to show everyone what a great duelist Yuko Sakaki is. And looks like she's going to start now." Stated Naruto, watching as Yuko jumped up several pillars.
"Your attention please! My next move's a real showstopper! As some of you may know, if I tribute my Hip Hippo right now, it'll count as two monsters! It's one of Hip Hippo's favorite tricks! Go for it, buddy!" Yuko said as her Hip Hippo ran and jumped off the pillar before dispersing.
"Now put your hands together and welcome…our main attraction!" Yuko said while discarding her clown costume as she summoned her own ace monster.
"One of the wonders of the dragon world, the spectacular Odd-Eyes Dragon!" Said Yuko as she brought out her dragon, landing on its back.

"Now it's time to swing in action!" Yuko declared, knowing with her dragon, she'll be able to end this duel in a single turn with the Action Card she found.
"Bravo! That's her father's catchphrase! She really is a chip off the old block!" Said Skip, feeling fired up at how Yuko's starting to turn the duel around.
"That's definitely an impressive monster. And with how confident she is, it must have a good special ability." Naruto said, leaning over the railing, eager to see how Yuko will play her next move.
'You've been waiting this chance, Yuko. Make the most of it.' Yoko thought, watching her daughter proudly.
The Uzumaki smiled when Yuko then revealed the Action Card she'd been keeping, Wonder Balloons, dropping Battleguard King's Attack Points to zero until the end of the turn. Dropping The Sledgehammer's monsters power by a thousand for each Action Card in her graveyard.
'And with Odd-Eyes ability, once it destroys Battleguard King, she'll win the duel with a single attack.' Thought Naruto, impressed that Yuko managed to secure victory.
Though he did frown slightly as he looked around seeing the crowd now cheering for Yuko for her performance and turning the duel in her favor. Even those that had mocked her when they believed she wouldn't show up were now cheering her on. Something that rubbed the whiskered blonde the wrong way at how quickly they changed their tune now that she's actually winning the duel.
'But it's making Yuko happy to have the crowd cheering her on, so as long as she's smiling then it's fine.' Naruto thought, seeing Yuko grinning at the crowd cheering for her now, cheering like they used to for her father.
Unfortunately, the moment Yuko had her Odd-Eyes attack and seemingly destroy Battleguard King, when the smoke cleared it revealed Battleguard King was still there. As The Sledgehammer revealed he had his own Miracle Action Card, saving his monster from being destroyed and halving the damage he took.
I-4000 – 1250 = 2750
With it getting worse when he activated Battleguard Rage, raising Battleguard King's Attack Points by two thousand.
'Meaning once Yuko ends her turn and Wonder Balloons effect ends, Battleguard King will be even more powerful!' Thought Naruto, worried for the dual-haired girl as The Sledgehammer now put things back in his favor.
"Oh no! Now Battleguard King is stronger than ever! Yuko and her Odd-Eyes better think of something and fast!" Yuzu said, concerned for her friend, knowing she needed a new plan if she hoped to win.
"If she can get to another Action Cards, then she'll have a chance to save Odd-Eyes and avoid more damage. Even better if she can find another Wonder Balloons." Said Naruto, knowing that an Action Cards might be Yuko's only hope of winning the duel.
They felt some hope when it looked like Yuko found another Action Card, urging Odd-Eyes forward so she could reach it. But before she could, Battleguard King brought his club down on Odd-Eyes, crushing the dragon and sending Yuko falling to the ground while her life points dropped even further.
Y-2900 – 2500 = 400
It didn't stop there when The Sledgehammer used Battleguard Magic, restoring his lost life points.
I-2750 1250 = 4000
'Now Odd-Eyes is back in her hand, and she doesn't have a way to special summon it quickly again. Come on, Yuko.' Thought Naruto, gripping the railing tightly.
"Could this get any worse?!" Yuzu said, now really worried, with Yuko barely having any life points left and The Sledgehammer being back to four thousand.
The only relief being that Battleguard King couldn't attack again, giving Yuko another turn and chance to try and make a comeback.
"It is useless but go ahead and draw. Or maybe you should pull a disappearing act, kid. Like father, like daughter!" Said Ishijima, giving Yuko a chance to surrender now to avoid being further humiliated, doubting she had anything that could stand up to his monster now.
"No thanks! I'm stay-" Yuko retorted, only to stop and look at her hand, feeling despair start creeping in.
Seeing she only had Odd-Eyes, Performapal Whipsnake, Performapal Sword Fish and Stargazer Magician, nothing she had that could help her out of this. With the dual-haired girl starting to feel like it was hopeless, that she isn't the Dueltainer her father was, that she didn't have the skill to win.
"Yuko! Come on, don't even think of giving up, now!" Naruto shouted, pulling Yuko out from her despair, looking to where her friends and mother were.
"You've already come this far, so keep going and don't doubt yourself! Show this Mad Max-wannabe what you can do and win this!" Said Naruto, surprising Yuko at his words, that he thought she could still win.
"Yeah! You can still win Yuko! You haven't given up before, so don't start now! We believe in you!" Yuzu cheered, believing Yuko still had a chance to win.
"Stand tall and strong, Yuko! Don't be shaken now! Show this entire arena some Dueltaining!" Said Gong, holding his fist up.
"Go Yuko! Show some of that You Show School pride and get fired up!" Skip said, cheering on his student.
"Come on Yuko! Don't forget everything you've learned, you aren't a quitter! Even if things get tough, get back up and smile!" Said Yoko, smiling encouragingly at her daughter.
Yuko looked at them in surprise at their encouragement, that they all believed she could win. She even started hearing some of the crowd cheering her on still. Those who had been fans of her father, that now cheered for his daughter, believing she had what it takes to win.
"When things get tough… Try to laugh when you feel like crying… Don't worry about anything… If the pendulum swings one way, you know it will swing the other way, too. Try to remember what I've told you…"
Hearing her father's words echoing in her mind, along with the cheers from her friends and family, the fans who believed in her, Yuko got back up to her feet. Feeling a new determination flowing through her, pushing her to keep going.
"It's time to swing into action! Swing pendulum! More and more!" Yuko said as she drew her card, causing her pendant to emit a bright glow.
Much to her shock when she saw Odd-Eyes Dragon, Stargazer Magician and the card she just drew Timegazer Magician start glowing. Watching in disbelief as her cards began changing, changing from normal Monster Cards to half-orange half-green cards. With Odd-Eyes gaining new features and seemed bigger on the card. Before the dual-haired girl felt a strange feeling overwhelm her, like she knew exactly what to do.
"I'll use Stargazer Magician and Timegazer Magician to set the Pendulum Scale! I'm taking control of this duel starting now!" Yuko said as she placed both her Magicians on opposite ends of her duel disk, with the word PENDULUM lighting up across it.
"What the hell…" Naruto muttered with wide eyes as Stargazer and Timegazer rose up in pillars of light, with glowing number one and eight appearing beneath them respectively, soon joined by a giant version of Yuko's pendant swinging between them.
Glancing at Mahad and Mana when they appeared, having felt a strange surge energy that got their attention, only to be just as surprised as their duelist by what they saw.
"Mahad, Mana…do either of you have any idea what's happening?" Naruto asked quietly, wondering if either of them have ever seen something like this.
"This is…completely new for me. Master?" Mana said, turning to Mahad, only for him to shake his head.
"In my entire life as a Sacred Guardian and a Duel Spirit, I've never witnessed something like this before." Said Mahad, lost at what kind of summoning method this was supposed to be.
Looking back at Yuko, Naruto then noticed how her pendant seemed to be glowing as she then Pendulum Summoned three monsters at once. Including her newly transformed Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
"Her pendant, it's glowing. Could that have something to do with her suddenly being able to do this…Pendulum Summoning? Along with how it seemed like it changed her Stargazer, Timegazer and Odd-Eyes cards?" Naruto asked, doubting that Yuko's cards were like this before.
"That…does seem like the most likely answer. But where could she gave gotten something with that kind of power? Being able to change the nature of a monster like that, not even the Millennium Items possessed that kind of power. The closest is the Millennium Scales, which could be used to fuse monsters back in Ancient Egypt. Or the Millennium Rod, which could seal Monster Spirits into stone tablets. But nothing like what Yuko's pendant just did." Said Mana, knowing it's a power she's never witnessed before.
"Agreed. It seems as if the pendant could have responded to Yuko's desire to win, transforming her monsters to their new forms and new abilities it seems." Mahad stated when Yuko used Stargazer's and Timegazer's abilities, with Timegazer canceling Battleguard Howling while Stargazer cancels out an Evasion Action Card, The Sledgehammer had grabbed in an attempt to save his monster.
"It almost seems like they're…Spell Cards." Said Mana while looking at Mahad, seeing how while they're on the field, it looked like both Magicians weren't being counted as actual monsters.
"Is it possible they were turned into, like…hybrid cards? Being both monsters and spells depending on how they're use, being considered spells if they're used to set the Pendulum Scale and being monsters if they're summoned normally." Naruto said, looking at the big screens and being able to get a look at Yuko's duel disk, despite the distance, noticing how it seemed like Stargazer and Timegazer were half-orange and half-green.
"That does seem like a possibility. Though we still don't know everything, so far it seems like that pendant reacts in response to Yuko's own desires by changing her cards to let her win. It's possible it could even create entirely new cards if her desire is strong enough and she has the right ones in her deck." Said Mahad, knowing this is unknown territory for all of them and they'll just have to wait and see if Yuko's pendant does anything else.
"Well, whatever it is, it looks like it happened at the right time." Said Naruto, smiling when Yuko had Odd-Eyes attack and destroy Battleguard King once it was wide open, with her dragon's ability helping to wipe out the last of The Sledgehammer's life points.
Before Naruto stumbled slightly when Yuzu suddenly hugged him tightly, out of excitement that Yuko really won.
"She won! She really won! I can't believe it! And that Pendulum thing was so amazing!" Said Yuzu, smiling brightly at Yuko's victory.
"Yeah, it was definitely an unforgettable way for her to win the duel." Naruto said, with his voice snapping Yuzu out of her excitement and realize what she's doing.
Making the pinkette blush in embarrassment and quickly pull away from Naruto, not believing she actually did that.
"S-s-s-sorry! I-I was j-j-just really excited is all about Yuko winning a-and…" Said Yuzu, only for Naruto to chuckle and wave it off.
"Don't worry about it, it's fine. You're excited she won and simply acted." Said Naruto, much to Yuzu's relief before they all went down to the arena to congratulate Yuko.
While Mana couldn't help but scowl in annoyance at how Yuzu hugged Naruto, gripping her wand tightly as she looked at the pinkette with narrowed eyes. With her missing the dry look Mahad was giving her, sweatdropping at his student's behavior.
"Huh? What's going on?" Yuko said, blinking in confusion as she looked around, seeing the arena was back to normal before she was surprised to see The Sledgehammer on the ground.
"Huh?! Hey, what happened to The Sledgehammer?" Questioned Yuko, wondering if their duel had been interrupted or something.
"You defeated him! Your dad would be so proud! Good work, Yuko! You dueled like a champion!" Yoko said, getting Yuko's attention and further confusing her.
"You were unbelievable!" Added Yuzu, still amazed at Yuko's Pendulum Summoning.
"Even Gong was impressed!" Gong stated, having never seen her duel like that before.
"She's our star pupil! And she got us our brand-new ARC System! Our brand new, free ARC System!" Skip cried joyfully, that they'll get a new ARC System for You Show.
"I…won?" Yuko said in surprise before she slowly began smiling that she won the duel, with the arena erupting into cheers at the victory and seeing a brand-new summoning method.
Even if she really had no idea what happened, only really remembering that she drew Timegazer Magician, then everything else was pretty much a blur. One moment she was drawing a card then the next she had apparently won the duel.
'Does she remember anything?' Naruto thought when Nico ran up to Yuko and began asking her about the new summoning method, only for the dual-haired girl to just look completely lost.
Luckily Yuko was saved from having to answer when Skip immediately rushed over to Nico and began questioning him about when the Leo Corporation would be delivering the new Arc System. Turning the attention away from Yuko for a moment, much to her relief.
"Was she just acting on instinct?" Naruto muttered, too deep in thought to notice he was thinking out loud, with only Yuzu hearing him in all the excitement and celebration.
'Yuko?' Yuzu thought while looking at her friend, now noticing the confusion in her eyes, like she didn't even realize she'd won the duel.
Making the pinkette look at her in concern, wondering if something else had happened when she used that Pendulum Summoning.

After the excitement from the duel began calming down, with everyone going to You Show to celebrate Yuko's victory. Naruto had excused himself, saying he needed to take care of something, before heading to a card shop. Wanting to test something, which also required him to get a Booster Pack, grabbing the first one he saw and paying for it.
Once he had it, the whiskered blonde then headed for an abandoned warehouse down by the docks, going inside and making sure he was alone.
"Okay, let's see how this goes." Naruto said to himself setting the Booster Pack on a crate before taking out Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl cards.
Channeling Chakra into them, Naruto watched as both Duel Monsters physically appeared beside him as he then took off the Millennium Puzzle and held it over the pack. With both Spellcasters aiming their wands at the Millennium Puzzle, firing blasts of magic at it. Causing both the Millennium Puzzle and Booster Pack to start glowing.
"And…it looks like it worked." Naruto stated while opening the Booster Pack and taking out the cards to see the Monster Cards were now Pendulum Cards, allowing him to get a better look at how different they were.
Seeing they had their normal effects but also Pendulum Effects for when they were used to set the Pendulum Scales. Along with having red and blue markings on them, showing different numbers below, which he guess meant all the numbers between whichever two were used, were the levels of the monsters that could be summoned.
'So if monsters with Scales one and eight are used, the monsters who are level two through seven can be summoned all at once.' Naruto thought, remembering what Yuko did to summon her monsters.
"So it looks like with both of you and the Millennium Puzzle, you can turn monsters into Pendulum Cards." Said Naruto while looking them over.
"So it seems. Though there's no way of knowing if it would work on all monsters or only certain ones." Mahad said, doubting that all monsters could be turned into Pendulum Cards.
"He's right. And we still don't know how or why Yuko's pendant caused her cards to transform like they did, and why now of all times." Added Mana, having learned from experience that if something strange like this happened then it happened for a reason.
"Yeah… Whatever it is, I don't know what, but something's telling me that Yuko's duel against The Sledgehammer, it was only the beginning of something. Something big." Naruto said as he shuffled the new Pendulum Cards into his deck, getting the feeling he's going to need them sooner than he thinks.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see Yuzu, Skip and Gong arriving at the arena where they meet Naruto, who assures them Yuko will be there. With the match getting underway with the Action Field Spell being activated, with Yuko not seeming to be anywhere in sight. Before arriving in her clown costume behind The Sledgehammer with the duel beginning.
As we see Naruto start to understand Yuko's plan when she rides off into the forest, that she's not running away. Something Yoko supports as she arrives, knowing what her daughter is doing and proud of her getting the moment she's waited three years for.
With Yuko looking to win once she brings out Odd-Eyes Dragon and leaves Battleguard King with no Attack Points. Only for The Sledgehammer to turn the duel back in his favor, making his monster stronger than ever and leaving Yuko defenseless. Leading to Yuko coming close to giving up, thinking she has no means of winning anymore. But after being encouraged by her friends and family, and even those who still cheered her father and did the same for her. Giving Yuko the determination to keep going, before her pendant transforms her monsters into Pendulum Cards.
Something that leaves Naruto, and even Mahad and Manam stunned as they witness Pendulum Summoning. As they begin theorizing what could've happened to cause such a thing, with Naruto noticing Yuko's pendant glowing, making them wonder what it really was and how it changed Yuko's cards.
Finally we see Yuko win the duel, being congratulated by the others and cheered on by the audience, only to be confused at what had happened, having no memory of performing Pendulum Summoning or how she won the duel. Something only Naruto and Yuzu notice, the latter after hearing Naruto muttering to himself. Leaving them confused and worried at what else could've happened.
Before we see Naruto going out and buying some new cards, but rather than simply add them to his deck, he uses the Millennium Puzzle with help from Mahad and Mana, turning them into Pendulum Cards. While believing that Yuko's duel against The Sledgehammer was only the beginning of something else, and that he'll likely need his new Pendulum Cards sooner than he believes. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story.
