Deadwood Haunt
At the bottom of Aipom Hills, Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lucy, Lola, and Lily meet up with the rest of their siblings; Lori tells them about what Iscan needed.
"So we need a one-eyed ghost Pokemon?" asked Lincoln.
"I believe the Pokemon in question is known as a Dusclops." said Professor Laventon.
"Let's head over to that Deadwood Haunt place and look for one." said Lori.
"But ghost Pokemon usually only come out at night." said Lucy.
"We'll let you look for it, Lucy." said Luan.
"Yeah, you seem to like the night." said Luna.
"I don't know why, but I'm more comfortable with the darkness." said Lucy.
"Maybe when we find Basculegion, we'll get a memory back that explains why." said Lana.
"We can hope." said Leni.
"Pardon me." a woman's voice calls out, making everyone look to see a woman wearing an olive green kimono and white apron, walking over to them.
"Can we help you?" asked Akari.
"My name is Gully." said the woman now identified as Gully. "I am with a man named Yorrich who works with the Construction Corps."
"What are you two doing out here?" asked Lincoln.
"We came here to set up a new base camp." said Gully.
"That would come in handy." said Professor Laventon.
"Yes, but Yorrich went off on his own to get the lay of the land... and he hasn't come back." said Gully.
"What do you think happened to him?" asked Akari.
"I don't know." said Gully. "But he should be nearby somewhere."
"We'll go and find him." said Lori.
"When you do, tell him to come back here already." said Gully.
"Looks like we got a search-and-rescue mission, everyone." said Professor Laventon.
"Let's head out." said Lori.
"Hey, Professor." said Luna. "Some of our Pokemon evolved, and I caught a new one; could you tell us what they are now?"
"Certainly." replied Professor Laventon. Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lily let out their newly evolved/obtained Pokemon. "The Staravias have evolved into Staraptors, Lori's Spheal evolved into a Sealeo, Leni's Dewott evolved into a Samurott which is part water and part dark, her Budew is now a Roselia, and Lily's Geodude is a Graveler now."
"Gwaveler." said Lily.
"And the purple monkey Pokemon that Luna caught is an Aipom; it's a girl." said Professor Laventon.
"Thank you." said Lori.
The Survey Corps start heading east towards the coast; along the way, they see a couple of shipwrecks on the beach.
"This must be Deadwood Haunt." said Lucy. "Feels like my kind of place."
"Not much we can do here until nightfall." said Luan.
"Let's just keep looking for Yorrich." said Lana.
"I'm going to wait around here." said Lucy, looking around with a small smile on her face.
"Fine." replied Lori; she turned towards the rest of her siblings. "Come on, guys; let's look for this Yorrich guy." She and her siblings, except for Lucy begin walking east.
After walking for over half an hour, they see a dark skinned man with gray hair, wearing a purple jacket, light purple pants, and sandals, backing from a birdlike Pokemon with blue wings, yellow chest, and green underside that had a black head that resembled a musical note with a pink beak.
"S-Stay away!" the man yelled at the birdlike Pokemon.
"Away! Stay!" the bird Pokemon replied.
"Did that Pokemon just talk in our language?" asked Lincoln.
"That Pokemon is known as a Chatot." said Professor Laventon. "They tend to copy what other people say."
"Gwaaaah!" yelled the man "Why is this Pokemon talking?!"
"Talk?! Twaaalk?!" replied the bird Pokemon.
"Hey, you okay, dude?" Luna asked the man the Chatot was in front of.
"FAR FROM IT!" yelled the man. "HELP ME!"
"Well, since you asked so nicely." Lola sarcastically said.
"Halp me!" said the Chatot.
"Who do we help?" asked Leni.
"The man, of course." said Lisa. Lily giggles as she tosses her Graveler's pokeball, letting him out.
"Gwaveler, use Wollout!" said Lily. Graveler tucks its body into a ball, rolls at the Chatot, and slams into it, dealing super effective damage.
"Nice one, Lily!" said Lincoln, making Lily smile. Chatot reacts by flapping its wings and releasing a blade of wind that hits Graveler, not doing much to him.
"Gwaveler, use Wock Swide!" said Lily. Graveler grabs a bunch of large rocks and throws them above the Chatot; they come down and hit it, dealing super effective damage. Chatot flaps its wings, releasing a gust of wind from them and it hits Graveler, but not dealing much damage.
"Keep it up, baby sis!" said Luna.
"Gwaveler, use Tackle!" said Lily. Her Graveler runs at the Chatot and rams into it, knocking it to the ground.
"I got it." said Luan as she takes an empty pokeball from her satchel and throws it at the Chatot, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before a firework shoots out from it.
"Nice job, you two." said Lori.
"Thanks, Lori." Luan replied while Lily giggled.
"Luan; your new Chatot's a girl, she should know Gust, Swift, Air Cutter, Roost, and Air Slash." said Professor Laventon.
"Thank goodness!" said the man. "I don't know if I'd have survived without you!"
"I don't see what the problem was." said Lincoln. "That Chatot wasn't attacking you; just copying words you said."
"I suppose." said the man. "But no one told me there'd be Pokemon talk like people out here! What a fright!"
"By the way, is your name Yorrich?" asked Lana.
"It is." said the man revealed to be Yorrich.
"Gully is looking for you." said Luna. "She's worried."
"Oh my, I forgot why I was out here." said Yorrich. "I'll head back to her immediately."
The Survey Corps escort Yorrich all the way back to where Gully was waiting.
"Thank you all for find Yorrich." said Gully.
"We were glad to help." said Lincoln.
"Back where I grew up, folks often said that if you hear someone talk when nobody's around, it's not a ghost playing tricks; it's Chatot." said Gully. "Anyway, thank you for helping Yorrich; I'll have him set up camp now."
By nightfall, a new base camp has been set up.
"All finished." said Torrich.
"It will be nice having a base camp around here." said Lincoln.
"I wonder how Lucy's doing." said Lynn.
Back at Deadwood Haunt, Lucy was sitting against a tree; as she does, she sees a gray, round Pokemon with stubby legs, light gray hands, and a single eye floating by.
"A single eye; that must be a Dusclops." said Lucy. The Dusclops continued to float, unaware that Lucy was behind it. "Hello, Dusclops." The Dusclops turns around and faces Lucy. She pulls a pokeball from her waist and tosses it, releasing her Haunter.
"Haunter, use Astonish." said Lucy. Haunter floats over to Dusclops and makes a scary face at it, dealing super effective damage. The Dusclops forms a ball of black energy in its hands, and launches it at Haunter; it hits her, dealing super effective damage.
"Haunter, use Hex." said Lucy. Haunter raises her hands and a black orb of energy with a red eye appears above her; energy rings fire out of the eye and they hit Dusclops, dealing super effective damage. The Dusclops holds out its hands and a black orb of energy appears in front of them; black and purple rings of energy fires out of it and it hits Haunter, dealing super effective damage; Haunter begins to float towards the ground.
"Haunter, Hypnosis." said Lucy. Haunter looks at Dusclops and her eyes glowed red; she waves her hands back and forth until Dusclops collapses.
"Now use Dark Pulse." said Lucy. Haunter holds out her hands and a black orb of energy appears in front of them; black and purple rings of energy fires out of it and it hits the sleeping Dusclops, dealing super effective damage. Lucy takes an empty pokeball out of her satchel and she tosses it at Dusclops, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggled a few times until it clicked. "I have captured Dusclops." She picks up Dusclops' pokeball and puts it away; after returning Haunter to her pokeball, she puts it in her satchel and she walks away.
At the Coastlands Camp, the rest of the Loud siblings, along with Professor Laventon were sitting around a campfire.
"I wonder what's taking Lucy so long." said Lynn.
"I hope she is okay." said Professor Laventon.
"I am." said Lucy from behind Professor Laventon, scaring him.
"Lucy!" said the rest of the Loud siblings as they run over to her.
"Are you okay?" asked Leni.
"Yes." replied Lucy as she pulls out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing her Dusclops.
"You caught a Dusclops." said Professor Laventon.
"Yes." said Lucy.
"Let me examine it." said Professor Laventon. "Your new Dusclop is a female, and she should know Absorb, Shadow Sneak, Hex, Leech Life, Dark Pulse, and Shadow Ball."
"Hey, Lucy has seven Pokemon!" said Lola.
"You have to send one back to Jubilife Village." said Professor Laventon.
"I guess I'll send Murkrow back." said Lucy as she hands Professor Lavenon her Murkrow's pokeball.
"She'll be fine at the pastures." said Professor Laventon.
"Let's just get some sleep." said Lori.
Everyone goes into their tents and settle down for the night to rest up for tomorrow.
Lucy has caught a Dusclops to help Iscan make Basculegion's favorite food else will happen as their work with the Survey Corps continues? Wait and find out.
