Harry- June 24th

The day was sunny and welcoming a refreshing temperature for the entirety of the population of Scottland after a cold and dreary winter. Harry Potter fought his way through the maze unsure of what little else he could do in fact. There were challenges and creatures hidden within the maze that Harry needed to fight his way through. If this tournament had taught him anything it was how much more he had to learn.

He had become distinctly aware of his lack of knowledge when it came to the wizarding world and the various magical communities throughout the rest of the world. He had found that he was ill equipped to participate in the tournament that he had been entered into against his own will. He had been so caught up in trying to simply survive whatever was happening that he didn't even consider that he was not allowing himself to grow and learn and investigate those things that had amazed and intrigued him so much when he first entered the wizarding world as an eleven-year-old boy.

The entire wizarding world pinned its hopes on a teenager and alternately shunned that same teenager. The dark-haired boy continued to run through the maze as quickly as he could letting his mind drift to the past to keep him moving at top speed. Dudley and Piers were chasing him another round of Harry hunting. He kept moving, panting, and hoping to make it safely somewhere the two bigger boys couldn't get to him.

As the Sphinx blocked his path, he considered thelack of training his education in fact had provided. The creature considered him as it asked, "first think of the person who lives in disguise. Who deals in secrets and tells not but lies. Next tell me what's always the last thing to mend. The middle of the middle and the end of the end? And finally give me the sound I often heard during the search for a hard-to-find word. Now string them together, toanswer this. Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?"

Harry was perplexed for a moment. The first part was easy, a spy. Harry thought back to his previous year, Harry looked into the face of the man who had betrayed the order and even those whom he called friends. Petter Pettigrew had been at the wedding of Harry's parents. He had been their secret keeper and one of his father's best friends. The man had turned out to be alive after all hiding as Ron's rat. He also considered Snape, who was Dumbledore's spy among the Death Eaters, and the animosity that would never seem to end.

Harry shook himself back to present, the last thing to mend the end of the end would be death.

"Spy-death -er," Harry strung them together, and grinned, "a spider." The Sphinx pulled back out of Harry's way, "Proceed, your answer was well reasoned."

As Harry turned a corner in the maze many then went forward Cedric came through from the other side somehow. Harry screamed, "watch out!" Seeing the tentacle of a plant reaching out for Cedric he cast a quick lumos and watched the plant creep back and he and Cedric made a run for it, Cedricshivered and offered as they approached the trophy at the center of the maze, "You take it." Harry shook his head and insisted, "no, we do this together a Hogwarts victory."

As they took the cup the cup a familiar sensation came over the boys as they were transported by portkey. They landed hard on the ground of an old church graveyard. Suddenly aman stepped into view pushing a pram. The man was one Harry would never forget. "Wormtail," he called out and the man came to a stand still looking at Harry. A voice called out as wormtail stood there shaking in his boots, "Kill him and kill the spare, you blasted fool."

Harry went to cast petrificus totalis, but wormtail was quicker and Cedric who had not known what was going on in the graveyard fell dead, as Harry rolled behind a grave to keep from being hit himself.

It became a matter of time before Harry was outnumbered as Death Eaters came into the graveyard, one of them catching Harry unaware and casting a silent charm binding him to one of the headstones. Harry stoodhelplessly as the resurrection ritual was completed and before him stood a very much alive Voldemort. He watched as the snake-like man addressed his followers and named them pulling down their masks. He was surprised as they were named there some he did not know and others whose children he attended school with.

Harry made a point of memorizing each and every single one of them. The snakelike man boasted, "You knew that I have traveled further down the road of immortality than any other. Yet none of you bothered to search for me when news reached you of my disappearance." The men were kneeling before Voldemort as though before a King. He pulled off each man's mask MacNair, Nott, Goyle, Crabbe, Parkinson…not even you Lucius. "

The solemnity in which the men considered the situation in which they now found themselves needing to play a whole new political game. Harry had heard the rumors. His mind falling back to his first day at the school. Ron standing next to him, "I've heard of his family. They were among the first to come back to our side, claiming imperius. Although it meant contributing heavily to the ministry. Dad suspects that Malfoy's dad didn't need to be given motivation to go to the dark side. "

By the time Harry managed his way through the headstones and to the trophy once more dragging the body of Cedric Diggory back as his memory requested. Harry landed with a thud unable to stand weeping next to the body of the most recent person to die simply because he existed.

He barely recognized what was happening as McGonagall reached him and helped him up. The soft hands of his head of house rarely allowed to assist him, "come on Potter. Let's get you out of here." That was the last that Harry would remember until he woke up in the infirmary of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

His vision being blurred due to not having his glasses on. A blonde girl sat at his side, "oh you're awake." I will go and let Madam Pomfrey." Harry reached over to the side table, feeling for his glasses. He slipped them on and shifted so that he was sitting up a little more comfortably. The girl returned to his bedside followed by Madam Pomfrey. The mediwitch sat and shook her head, "take it nice and easy Potter. I can only imagine what happened in that blasted maze. Minerva and I could never be less happy to have been right, "Harry nodded assuming that she meant his injuries from the tournament. It would only be later that he would learn otherwise.
