After they defeated Megadramon and Gigadramon, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Max, Tai, Matt, Sora T, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, TK, Kari, Davis, Yolei, Cody, Ken, Amy, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Eevee, Azurill, Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Patamon, Gatomon, Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Wormmon, and Lunamon left the junkyard to find their friends, keeping their eyes opened for any signs of trouble in the form of Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, and evil Digimon.
"No signs of the Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed," Naminé said.
"Azurill," Azurill chirped.
"Or any evil Digimon coming our way," Izzy said.
"Not yet anyway," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Please, don't jinx us. Just thinking about it is enough to make me molt, but not in a fun way," Tentomon said.
"Okay, how do you molt in a fun way?" Veemon asked.
"No, Riku's right. Just because we made it passed those two Digimon back there doesn't mean our troubles are over," Tai said.
"In other words, evil Digimon would jump out and attack at anytime," Sora T said.
"Yeah, and Devimon's no exception," Biyomon said.
"Well, we gotta keep moving and deal with anything that comes our way," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pika," Xipak said.
"Yeah, and find everyone else before something bad really does happen," Mimi said.
"Well, let's keep going," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel and Celeste said.
With that said, the group kept on moving, continuing their search for their missing friends. As they continued on, they hear the sound of a scream up ahead. Knowing it means trouble, they rushed over to the source of the scream. They saw it was a Digimon that strongly resembled a white chess piece. It held a lance in its left and a pawn buckler in its right. This Digimon is a white PawnChessmon.
The PawnChessmon is being surrounded by a gang of Goblimon. Leading them is is a Digimon that resembles a green ogre with long, unkempt white hair, pointed ears adored by earrings, two horns on its head and spikes jutting from its shoulders. For some reason, its mouth is open with an exaggerated lower jaw similar to the Violator from Spawn and has fang-like tusks on its upper jaw like an oni. It wears a black loincloth with a belt, a bracer on its right arm, red bandages on both its left arm and right leg and black belts on its left leg. It carries a large, spiked femur bone as a bludgeon weapon. It has a skull and crossbones on its left arm below its shoulder spikes, metal studs on the knuckles of its left hand, and a scar on the back of its right hand. This Digimon is known as Ogremon.
"That Digimon is in trouble," Kari said.
"I know those are Goblimon, but who's that one green guy?" Amy asked.
"That's an Ogremon. He's the Digivolved form of Goblimon," Lunamon said.
"Ogremon? You mean that Digimon who you met before?" Riku asked.
"Yes, but that's a different one," Matt said.
"And he must be leading those Goblimon," Gabumon said.
"I won't let you have your way, villain!" The PawnChessmon said.
"You are all talk, you weakling," Ogremon said.
The PawnChessmon charged at the Goblimon, but they easily overpowered him. Sora couldn't just watch, so he rushed over to the scene to help out.
"We got him now, boss!" One of the Goblimon said.
"You're finished," Ogremon said.
"I don't think so!" Sora exclaimed, grabbing Ogremon's attention.
"Huh?! Who said that?" Ogremon asked as Sora came to the scene. He looked at Sora and laughed at him. "You have got to be joking! A scrawny, little kid who thinks he's so tough! Now, that's funny!"
"Don't underestimate me just because I look skinny, ogre-boy! I took on guys much bigger than you!" Sora said.
"They must be total weaklings if they lost to the likes of you," Ogremon said. He turned to the Goblimon. "Alright, Goblimon! Get him!" The Goblimon obliged him when they went after Sora, but he summoned his Kingdom Key and he took them all on. Sora blocked their clubs and he casts an aero spell, blowing them backwards.
"Goblin Strike!" The first Goblimon shouted as he and the others threw the fireballs. Sora deflected the fireballs with his Keyblade and he dashed at them, hitting the goblin-like Digimon. The Goblimon were beaten, leaving only Ogremon.
"You still up for a fight?" Sora asked.
"So, you beat my boys! I'll break your bones and grind them to dust!" Ogremon said, readying his club. He charges at Sora. "Bone Mace!" Sora blocked with his Keyblade. They clashed their weapons. "Pommel Whack!" Ogremon fired a dark energy from his fist. It takes the form of Ogremon's head. Sora jumped to dodge and he casts a thunder spell, sending the lightning down on the ogre-like Digimon, striking him. Ogremon roared in pain from the magical lightning. Ogremon looked up and felt Sora's right foot on Ogremon's face, leaving a footprint on his face. "Ow! My face!" He rubs his face and he growled in anger. "You little spiky-headed delinquent! You're gonna pay for doing to me!"
"Put it on my tab!" Sora said.
"Once I'm done with you, I'll deal with Knightmon and take the Chessmon Castle for Mephistomon," Ogremon said.
"Mephistomon?" Sora asked.
"The Digimon who will rule the Chessmon Castle with an iron fist," Ogremon said.
"I think not, Ogremon!" A voice shouted. Ogremon turned to see a Digimon in a knight's armor. He has a sword on the shield and side. The Crest of Hope is on the shield. This Digimon is known as Knightmon. With him are other PawnChessmon; some of them are black and the others are white. There are also Digimon that resembles a knight chess piece. They have centaur bodies and needles on their shoulders. Some of them were black and others were white. These Digimon are known as KnightChessmon.
"Retreat! Retreat!" Ogremon exclaimed as he and the Goblimon retreated.
"After them!" Knightmon shouted as a handful of PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon gave chase as the remaining PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon came for the group. The PawnChessmon points their lances at them.
"Don't any of you move," one of the black PawnChessmon said.
"Hey, point that thing someplace else," Riku said.
"Don't provoke them," Joe said.
Knightmon approached Sora and sees the Keyblade in his hand.
"You have an unusual sword in your hand. Care to explain it to me?" Knightmon asked.
"Sorry, I can't tell you too much about it," Sora said, dismissing his Keyblade.
"Then you are in league with that fiend, Ogremon. Arrest him and his co-conspirators at once," Knightmon commanded.
"Yes, Sir Knightmon," one of the white PawnChessmon said.
"Hold on, you're a mistake," Agumon said.
"Sir Knightmon, he's telling the truth! They're not allied with those vile villains!" The first PawnChessmon said.
"No?" Knightmon asked, raising a brow. "You dare to object to your commanding officer?"
"This boy saved my life, Sir Knightmon. He and his party have come to my aid when Ogremon and his minions attacked me. He fought against them and triumphed against those ogres. He stepped on Ogremon's face and he fled when you were arriving," the first PawnChessmon said.
"So, you should be thanking me for saving his life," Sora said.
"Forgive me. It's just, we haven't been getting that many visitors as of late. I am Knightmon. I am the general of the army you see before you," Knightmon said. The PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon have returned to Knightmon to make their report.
"Sir, Knight, I regret to inform you that the enemy have fled," one of the white KnightChessmon reported.
"They must have covered their tracks by now," Knightmon said.
"Just before he took off, he mentioned someone named Mephistomon," Naminé said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what would he want with your land?" Tentomon asked.
"You should come with us to the palace. Their Majesties will explain it better," Knightmon said as he and his army leads the group to their castle. It has a chess theme to it.
"So, that's where they live," Amy said.
"What do you expect from Digimon that look like chess pieces?" Max asked.
They entered the castle and they stood before Digimon in the throne room.
Two of them are derived from the "Bishop" chess piece. They're colored black and white like the chess pieces with long, flowing robes and a Christian cross on their breechcloth, as well as their staves akin to a bishop's crosier. Their heads are styled after the bishop's mitre. These two are known as BishopChessmon.
Two other Digimon that are derived after the Rook chess piece with one being black and the other being white. Both has a fortress-like build with cannons on one hand. These two are known as RookChessmon.
One has the appearance of a white PawnChessmon, but he has a mustache on his face and wears a cape on his back, a crown on his head and a medal on his chest. Also he wields a scepter. This is KingChessmon.
The other has the build of a human woman. She wore a dark pink cape with dark pink shoulder pads and breast plate. She has a sword-like skirt, and she holds a staff. She holds a staff with a red jewel between a gold heart and a tube-like part. This is QueenChessmon.
The white white BishopChessmon and the white RookChessmon stood next to KingChessmon while the black BishopChessmon and the black RookChessmon stood beside QueenChessmon.
Knightmon, the PawnChessmon, and KnightChessmon bowed before KingChessmon and QueenChessmon.
"Knightmon. Who are they, and why have you brought them to the castle?" QueenChessmon asked.
"Your Majesty, this band of heroes have come to the aid of one of our own when attacked by Ogremon. I have assumed that they were in league with him and Mephistomon, but they assured me that they're not," Knightmon said.
"It's true. We were passing by when we saw one of your guys in trouble," Sora said.
"He wields a peculiar sword unlike any I have ever seen. And he used it to fight Ogremon," Knightmon said.
"Really? Is that so?" KingChessmon asked.
"It's true," Agumon said, stepping up. "He's a skillful warrior where he comes from. He fought hordes of monsters and all sorts of dangerous villains."
"What are you doing?" Sora whispered.
"A skillful warrior? Impressive," KingChessmon said.
"He's not the only one, Your Majesties," Wormmon said. "These three here are also skillful warriors."
"Can you be certain of that?" QueenChessmon asked.
"Very certain," Patamon said.
"Then, I will take the words of the Digimon partners of the DigiDestined. Speak your names," QueenChessmon requested.
"My name's Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town," Sora said.
"My name's Kairi."
"I'm Riku."
"And I'm Naminé."
"Now, Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town, you have our thanks for saving one of our PawnChessmon. We are in your debt," QueenChessmon said.
"Yes, indeed," KingChessmon said.
"Who exactly is this Mephistomon?" Kairi asked.
"Vee?" Angel asked.
"Eevee?" Celeste asked.
"Mephistomon is a monster. For the last few weeks, Mephistomon has been demanding that we surrender our kingdom to him, but we refused his demands," QueenChessmon explained.
"Sounds like he didn't take no for an answer," Max pointed out.
"He did not. Mephistomon then began recruiting other Digimon that live in the area and built himself an army, declaring war on our peaceful kingdom. Our forces have foiled their attempt to conquer us, but they're growing stronger when stronger Digimon are being brought in," QueenChessmon said.
"And he won't stop his attacks until you surrender to him, right?" Riku asked.
"I'm afraid so," QueenChessmon said.
"But with the help of the DigiDestined and these brave warriors, the tide of the war can change," the white BishopChessmon said.
"I agree. These attacks will hopefully cease when Mephistomon is defeated," the black BishopChessmon said. The two RookChessmon nodded.
"We'll lend our hand anyway we can," Cody said.
"You would?" KingChessmon asked.
"You sure can. We can give Tactimon a run for his money faster than you can say peanut butter and chocolate syrup sandwich!" Armadillomon said.
"Okay, that's just weird," Max said.
"You have our thanks," KingChessmon said.
"And Knightmon is welcomed to help us out," Sora said.
"You would like my help?" Knightmon asked, shocked.
"Yeah, because you know how he thinks, and we could use a warrior like you," Sora said.
"It would be an honor," Knightmon said, bowing his head in respect.
Meanwhile, Ogremon is kneeling before a demonic Digimon. He looks like a winged man with a goat's head and hooves.
"What?!" Mephistomon exclaimed as he grabbed Ogremon by the head and began to squeeze hard. "You mean to tell me that your attempt to capture one of the PawnChessmon was ruined because of a human holding a giant key?!"
"It's not as bad as it seems, Lord Mephistomon. I would have brought him in if it weren't for his meddling!" Ogremon said.
"It makes no difference, because QueenChessmon probably already knows by now," Mephistomon said, throwing Ogremon. He then strokes his chin. "We just need to come up with a new plan of attack."
"Might I suggest we just attack the Chessmon Castle? We can use our army to do so, my lord," Ogremon said.
"And do you think I can trust you to lead this attack after your bumbling?" Mephistomon asked.
"I won't fail again. I can promise you that," Ogremon said.
"You will suffer the consequences if you break that promise, Ogremon. This is your final chance to turn it around," Mephistomon said.
"Yes, yes. My final chance," Ogremon said, sweating. He is chuckling nervously.
Back at the Chessmon Castle, a couple of white PawnChessmon were patrolling the castle's walls when an arrow is suddenly shot on the wall. There is a note tied to the arrow. One of the white PawnChessmon took the note off the arrow and reads its contents.
"The king and queen must see this," the first white PawnChessmon said.
The two white PawnChessmon rushes to the throne room where KingChessmon and QueenChessmon are still talking with the group.
"Your Majesties!" The two white PawnChessmon exclaimed.
"What is it?" QueenChessmon asked.
"Forgive us, Majesties, but this note was tied to an arrow," the first white PawnChessmon said, handing it to Knightmon who reads it.
Surrender your kingdom to Lord Mephistomon by sunset or we will take it by force.
Ogremon
He hands it to KingChessmon and for them to read.
"Ogremon is launching an attack on the castle himself?" KingChessmon asked.
"Not by himself. He still has those Goblimon, so it's likely that there's gonna be some other Digimon stronger than them, and I don't think any of them would be friendly," Sora said.
"I agree. Mephistomon would very likely lead the attack himself," Knightmon said. He clutched his fist. "I will not allow that fiend anywhere near you, Your Majesties."
"Same with us," Hawkmon said.
"Yeah, we can give those guys a beating of a lifetime," Biyomon said.
"But you guys will be up against an entire army. How are you going to take them all on?" Max asked.
"We can Digivolve, remember?" Gomamon asked, reminding Max.
"Mephistomon won't know what hits him," Davis said.
"I wouldn't be so sure. Mephistomon is no pushover, so beating him won't be so easy," Gatomon said.
"Gatomon might be right," Ken spoke up.
"How so?" Amy asked.
"Mephistomon won't make it easy for us. If he's anything like our old enemies, then we're going to be in for it," Mephistomon said.
"I agree with Ken. We're gonna have to be ready for him. We'll take a handful of soldiers with us to back us up," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Good thinking, Riku. Let's get to it," Sora said.
With that said, all of the Digimon have Digivolved and waited for the enemy to come. TK and Kari rode on Pegasusmon and Nefertimon, searching from the left while Birdramon and Aquilamon searches the right.
Sora, Riku, the Pokémon, and the rest of the DigiDestined have taken other places to look. Riku took out his Rotom Phone to make contact with everyone.
"How are things from your end?" Riku asked.
"All is quiet from our end," TK said.
"We don't see so much as a green face," Kari said.
"Same with us in our end," Yolei said.
"They gotta be close by, so we'll keep looking," Sora T said.
"Wait, I think I see something," TK said. They listened in on him.
Over to TK and Kari's end, they saw a dark purple flying Digimon that is a cross between a fighter jet and a pteranodon. This Digimon is known as Pteramon.
"Missile Storm!" Pteramon shouted, firing several missiles at them.
"Look out!" TK exclaimed as Pegasusmon and Nertimon swerved. Several more Pteramon show up to launch their attack.
"There's more of 'em!" Nefertimon gasped.
Over to Sora T and Yolei, they were being attacked by several more Pteramon. They fired their missiles at them, making Birdramon and Aquilamon fly to dodge.
"Guys! What's going on?!" Sora exclaimed.
"A squad of Pteramon are attacking us! They just came flying awfully fast!" Sora T said.
"Pteramon?" Amy asked.
"I think I see one of them!" Naminé said, pointing to one coming.
"Missile Storm!" The Pteramon shouted, firing several more missiles.
"We gotta knock those missiles down!" Kairi said, holding her Keyblade and uses it to cast an aero spell, creating a powerful wind, blowing the missiles away. They explode in midair. Just then, several Goblimon came, wielding their clubs.
"Nova Blast!" Greymon shouted, firing Nova Blast, hitting the Goblimon. More kept on coming.
"V-Laser!" ExVeemon shouted, firing a V-shaped laser from his chest, hitting a couple of them. Sora and Riku charge in with their Keyblades, pushing the Goblimon back.
"Tail Hammer!" Ankylomon shouted, swinging his tail, smacking the ground.
"Harpoon Torpedo!" Ikkakumon shouted, firing his horns, turning them into missiles. Several Goblimon were caught in the blast, sending them flying. Togemon punches several of them with her boxing gloves as Lekismon gave one a kick. Stingmon gave a Goblimon a punch while Kabuterimon rammed into them with his horn.
"Goblin Fire!" Three of the Goblimon shouted, throwing their fireballs.
"Batter up!" Sora shouted as he swings his Kingdom Key like a baseball bat. He hits the fireballs and they struck the three Goblimon. More Goblimon came at Sora as he prepares to fend them off, but Knightmon came to his aid.
"Grand Smash!" Knightmon shouted, swinging his sword at the Goblimon, blowing them away.
"Big Darts!" The KnightChessmon shouted, jabbing the Goblimon with their darts.
"Pawn Spear!" The PawnChessmon shouted as they threw their spears.
Several red slim wolf-like Digimon came and assisted the Goblimon. They have purple claws and wore black leather on their legs. These Digimon are known as Fangmon. Garurumon leaps towards the Fangmon.
"Howling Blaster!" Garurumon roared, firing his attack at them.
"Nova Blast!" Greymon shouted, firing his massive fireball, hitting one. Just then, several tanks came rolling in as several more Pteramon came flying in and fired their missiles at the castle.
"The castle is getting totalled!" Sora exclaimed.
"We're not going to last long if we stay out here any longer!" Matt said.
"Sir Knightmon, our forces won't be able to hold them off!" One of the black KnightChessmon said.
"Retreat!" Knightmon ordered.
With that said, they all rushed inside the castle to escape the blasts. The Goblimon and Fangmon pursued them inside the castle.
Meanwhile, Mephistomon is observing the battle in the distance and smiled evilly.
"That's right. Run," Mephistomon said.
"What are your orders, Lord Mephistomon?" One of the Goblimon asked.
"What do you think, you idiot? Take the castle!" Mephistomon ordered.
"Yes, sir," the first Goblimon said.
In one of the tanks, Ogremon is sitting in his command chair as the Goblimon operates it.
"Sir, the enemy is on the run! They're trapped!" One of the Goblimon reported.
"Good. Time to take this inside. Knightmon will taste defeat for the last time!" Ogremon said, chuckling evilly.
The tank stopped and the hatch opened. Ogremon got out and held his club tightly. He and a handful of Goblimon ran inside the castle.
In the air, Birdramon, Aquilamon, Pegasusmon, and Nefertimon continued their fight against the Pteramon.
"Meteor Wing!" Birdramon shouted, flapping her wings. Fireballs rain down and struck some of them.
"Blast Rings!" Aquilamon shouted, firing energy rings, hitting some more of the Pteramon.
"Star Shower!" Pegasusmon shouted, flapping his wings, hitting a couple of the Pteramon.
"Rosetta Stone!" Nefertimon shouted, firing a stone tablet at the Pteramon.
Some of the Pteramon were destroyed as some were still going.
"Missile Storm!" The Pteramon shouted, firing their missiles at them.
"They just keep on coming!" TK said.
"Sora, you gotta gimme more energy for me to Digivolve!" Birdramon said.
"You're right. I can. Do your thing, Birdramon!" Sora T said as her heart gave off a red glow, displaying the Crest of Love. Her Digivice then begins to turn red as Birdramon gives off a red glow while she's Digivolving.
"Birdramon Digivolve to..." Birdramon began to Digivolve. She has become a Digimon that resembles a giant humanoid eagle with crimson wings. It has yellow hair, and wears a red helmet with an Indian feather. She has a DigiCode. "Garudamon!" The Pteramon weren't intimidated by her appearance and strength.
"Missile Storm!" The Pteramon shouted, firing their missiles at Garudamon.
"Eagle Claw!" Garudamon shouted, swinging her talons are the pterodactyl-like Digimon. "Wing Blade!" Garudamon unleashed silhouette of a bird and struck the Pteramon, destroying them. "And down they go!"
"Nicely done, Garudamon," Aquilamon said.
"Now, we just gotta handle the tanks," Kari said.
"Agreed. Wanna do the honors, Pegasusmon?" Nefertimon asked.
"You know it, Nefertimon!" Pegasusmon said.
Their anklets began to give off a golden glow before they form golden energy ropes.
"Golden Noose!" Pegasusmon and Nefertimon shouted as they head for one of the tanks and made it turn it. The nozzle came off and rammed into another tank, destroying it.
Inside the castle, the PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon fought off the Goblimon and Fangmon as they Keyblade wielders clashed against their clubs. Knightmon swings his sword against the Goblimon, making them fly.
"Keep the enemy at bay! Do not allow them to be near the king and queen!" Knightmon ordered.
"Yes, sir!" The PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon said. Pikachu and Xipak unleashed a double Thunderbolt, shocking the Goblimon and Fangmon. Angel and Celeste fired a double Swift, hitting the Fangmon. Eevee fired a Shadow Ball as Azurill fired Water Gun.
During the melee in the castle, Ogremon has arrived and spotted Knightmon.
"Knightmon!" Ogremon shouted in a challenging manner. Knightmon turned to see Ogremon. He came at him with his club as Knightmon blocked his assault with his sword.
"You're a fool to come and challenge me, Ogremon! Your master will not have his way!" Knightmon said.
"Don't get cocky, Knightmon! I'm going to earn my victory over you and use your helmet as my personal spitting patoon," Ogremon said.
"Too bad you will not have that chance," Knightmon said, pushing Ogremon back. "Grand Smash!"
"Pommel Whack!" Ogremon shouted, firing his attack at Knightmon, hitting him. It was very strong and it knocked Knightmon down. Seeing Knightmon down, Sora gasped.
"Knightmon!" Sora exclaimed.
"Ogremon, you villain," Knightmon said.
"Time to end you once and for all!" Ogremon said.
"No!" Sora shouted, casting a fire spell, hitting him. Ogremon turned and he glared angrily at Sora.
"I was actually hoping you were here, human. You and I have a score to settle for stepping on my face," Ogremon said.
"Did I make you uglier than you already are?" Sora taunted. Ogremon growled in anger.
"Oh, I'm going to enjoy killing you," Ogremon said. Ogremon swings his club at Sora, so he blocked with his Kingdom Key. Sora then summoned the Dinosaur King. He used it to fight Ogremon. "So, you had another one of those weird-looking swords? Bring out as many as you want, kid. I'm going to crush those along with your skull."
"Bring it on," Sora said. Sora swings both the Kingdom Key and the Dinosaur King in his hands as Ogremon attempts to hit him with his club. Sora ducked and dodged whenever Ogremon would try to hit him. Knightmon was very impressed by how Sora was fighting against Ogremon. In his eyes, he saw the image of a knight in Sora's place.
Meanwhile, Max, KingChessmon, and QueenChessmon are listening to the battle going on outside the throne room.
"They're getting closer out there," Max said.
"Yes. They will not be able to get passed our army," QueenChessmon said.
"They can't..." A dark voice spoke. They turned to see Mephistomon coming in from a dark void on the floor. "But I can."
"Mephistomon!" KingChessmon gasped.
"You seem surprised to see me, Your Majesties," Mephistomon said as he laughed. "It's all going as planned."
"What do you mean?" Max asked.
"It's quite simple. The attack outside is just a ruse. Your forces think I cannot get inside, but I most certainly can. And by the time they figure it out, it's going to be too late." He laughed evilly. "It's too late for you."
"Not if I have any say of this matter, Mephistomon," QueenChessmon said, coming at Mephistomon, but he held out his hand and unleashed a force of dark energy. QueenChessmon hits the wall as Mephistomon summoned dark chains and entangled KingChessmon, QueenChessmon, and Max in them.
"Let me go!" Max demanded.
"I will. After I have dispose of these two," Mephistomon said.
Back at the battle, Sora and Ogremon kept on fighting with Sora blocking Ogremon's club. Sora uses the Dinosaur King to overwhelm Ogremon and knocked the club out of his hand. Sora then struck Ogremon with both Keyblades, making him roar in pain.
Seeing Ogremon was defeated, the Goblimon and Fangmon began their own retreat.
"We won!" Davis exclaimed, making Ogremon laugh.
"What's so funny?" Riku asked.
"Oh, you might have won the battle, but you have already lost the war," Ogremon said.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"What I mean is, while we were fighting each other, Mephistomon has already made his move to capture the king and queen by now. I might have been defeated, but Mephistomon is invincible," Ogremon said as he laughed before he dissolved into bits of data.
Knowing Ogremon's threat was for real, Knightmon got on his feet and he rushes to the throne room.
"Where's Knightmon going?" Mimi asked.
"To the throne room!" Izzy said.
"We gotta hurry!" Naminé said.
Agreeing with Mimi, they went to follow Knightmon in the throne room.
Back outisde, the Goblimon, Fangmon, and remaining Pteramon retreats, leaving Soa T, TK, Kari, Yolei, and their partners behind.
"We got them on the run," Kari said.
"Ogremon must have been beaten, so it's over," TK said.
"I wouldn't be so sure, TK. Something isn't right," Pegasusmon said.
"I agree with Pegasusmon. Mephistomon said he was going to launch his attack, but he hasn't shown up since the attack started," Garudamon said.
"Yeah, it is weird. He didn't come like he said he would," Yolei pointed out.
"You don't think he was bluffing, do you?" Sora T asked.
"I highly doubt it, Sora. Mephistomon isn't a Digimon who makes empty threats," Aquilamon said. Nefertimon then realized something.
"Oh no!" Nefertimon gasped.
"What's wrong?" Kari asked.
"He wasn't out here! He's in the castle!" Nefertimon said.
"What?!" Kari exclaimed.
"We gotta go after him!" Sora T said.
Agreeing with her, Garudamon, Aquilamon, Pegasusmon, and Nefertimon flew towards the castle to help out.
Back inside, the group arrived in the throne room and they gasped when they saw Max, KingChessmon, and QueenChessmon were tied up.
"Mephistomon, you fiend!" Knightmon growled.
"So, you've defeated Ogremon. He has played his role well, but you are too late, because I have already won," Mephistomon said.
"I don't think so," Sora said as he came at Mephistomon with the Kingdom Key and Dinosaur King Keyblades. Mephistomon chuckled evilly as he grinned. He holds up his hand.
"Fool. Have a taste of this. Black Sabbath!" Mephistomon shouted, pushing Sora back with a dark shock wave. Sora is pushed back and heads for the opposite wall.
"Sora!" Kairi gasped. ExVeemon catches him.
"I got you," ExVeemon said.
"Thanks, ExVeemon," Sora said.
"Don't mention, Sora 2," ExVeemon said.
"You have spirit, boy, and I like that," Mephistomon said.
"I don't care what you like, horn-head! I'm going to take your horns off!" Sora said.
"As will I," Knightmon said, engaging Mephistomon. "Grand Slam!" Knightmon shouted.
"Black Sabbath!" Mephistomon shouted, pushing Knightmon back.
"Guys, let's take him!" Greymon said.
"Yeah!" The rest of the Digimon agreed.
Greymon, "Nova Blast!"

ExVeemon, "V-Laser!"
Stingmon, "Spiking Strike!"
Kabuterimon, "Electro Shocker!"

Each of the Digimon lauched their attacks, but not one of them even phased him.
"What the?" Greymon asked.
"Is that the best you got? I am not impressed," Mephistomon said. Just then, Garudamon, Aquilamon, Pegasusmon, and Nefertimon busts in through the windows. He looked behind him with an annoyed expression on his face. "What now?"
"How about us?" Aquilamon asked.
Garudamon, "Wing Blade!"
Aquilamon, "Grand Horn!"
Pegasusmon, "Star Shower!"
Nefertimon, "Rosetta Stone!"
The four Digimon all fired their attacks and they all struck him. Garudamon has done the most damage due to her being an Ultimate level Digimon. Izzy caught on to that and it gave him an idea.
"Guys, let's make the Digimon Digivolve into their Ultimate forms, too. Maybe they can deal some more damage on him when they work together," Izzy suggested.
"Good idea, Izzy," Tai said.
"It's worth a shot," Joe said.
Pegasusmon and Nefertimon De-Digivolved just so they can Digivolve to the Ultimate level. They held out their Digivices as most of the Digimon began to Digivolve.
"Greymon Digivolve to... MetalGreymon!"
"Garurumon Digivolve to..." Garurumon transformed into a bipedal beast resembling a werewolf with light blue fur, a white underside, dark blue tiger stripes, magenta claws and dark blue-tipped blades. It wears ripped blue jeans with a spiked knee-pad on the right leg and a normal one on the left, a bracer attached to an arm sleeve on its left arm, brass knuckles, and a dog tag around its neck. It has a bandage on its right foot. "WereGarurmon!"
"Kabuterimon Digivolve to..." Kabuterimon transformed into a bipedal Digimon with four arms. Its head is eyeless and has a skull helmet with a large horn that forks at the tip. Its shell consists of fused elytra with a green crystal ball at the base. It is red in coloration with blue hands and feet. Its torso and pelvis are skeletal in appearance. It has a blue stinger on its pelvis. "MegaKabuterimon!"
"Togemon Digivolve to..." Togemon transformed into fairy Digimon that wears a pink flower for a dress, a bud of the same flower with a yellow stamen on its head, and its hair is made from vines. It wears green boots with flower decorations and green sleeves that end in flowers at the wrists. It has four leaf-like wings on its back allowing it to fly. "Lillymon!"
"Ikkakumon Digivolve to..." Ikkakumon transformed into a humanoid walrus with a single horn on its head similar to a unicorn, albeit barbed at the tip. Its body is light blue and has orange fur on its face, left arm, and feet, and a mass of furry, red-tipped tails. It wears a giant sea turtle shell bolted to its back. A hammer appeared in his hand. "Zudomon!"
"Patamon Digivolve to... Angemon! Angemon Digivolve to..." Angemon transformed into a new angelic Digimon with eight shining wings and new garments/armor. He gains a gold sash that form near his ankle. A beam shield forms on his left arm and he draws out his purple blade of light, Excalibur in the air. A purple helmet covering half of his face is formed. "MagnaAngemon!"
"Gatomon Digivolve to..." Gatomon transformed into tall, slender, woman-like Digimon with fair skin, long blonde hair, and a silver helmet like that of Angemon. Its outfit is a skin-tight, white bodysuit that covers half of its body with white high heels, and it wears the Ten'ne characteristic of Tennin. It has eight white, dove-like wings with four on either side. Angewomon wears a Holy Ring on its left ankle. She appears to be wearing lipstick. "Angewomon!
"ExVeemon Digivolve to..." ExVeemon has gained some cybernetics on his arms and legs. His wings are replaced by mechanical wings and he gains a new chest plate and a blue helmet with a red visor. "JetVeemon!"
"Stingmon Digivolve to..." Stingmon has transformed into a red, muscular version of himself. His muscles are large as that of a body builder and gained dark red veins. "MachoStingmon!"
"Aquilamon Digivolve to..." Aquilamon has become white and has golden rings on his legs and his horns has grown larger. "ShineAquilamon!"
"Ankylomon Digivolve to..." Ankylomon has transformed into a large, bronze machine-like version of himself with his eyes being turned into visors. "TankAnkylomon!"
The newly Digivolved Digimon stood before Mephistomon, surrounding him.
"Now, we're all on the same level!" MetalGreymon said.
"Is that so?" Mephistomon asked.
"Attack!" MetalGreymon shouted.
The Ultimate level Digimon went to attack Mephistomon, but he just grinned evilly.
"Black Sabbath!" Mephistomon shouted, unleashing his attack, pushing them all back. "You think you can take me? You're even more foolish than I thought."
"Try me out," Sora said, casting a blizzard spell, hitting him. He then came at Mephistomon with both Keyblades giving off fire and lightning. Sora then threw them both, hitting Mephistomon.
"You are really are an annoyance! You will be the first one I deatroy!" Mephistomon said, holding out his hand. "Dark Cloud!" He summoned a cloud made of darkness. It heads right for Sora, but he held the two Keyblades in his hands. He casts an aero spell, sending it back at Mephistomon.
"I wasn't going to make it easy for you!" Sora said. He turned to the Digimon. "Okay, guys! You can take it from here!" Sora said.
"Giga Blaster!" MetalGreymon shouted as his chest opened up. He fired his organic missiles.
"Wolf Claw!" WereGarurumon shouted as he swiped the air and sends out slash energies.
"Wing Blade!" Garudamon shouted as she sends out her bird-like attack.
"Horn Buster!" MegaKabuterimon shouted, sending out an orange aura, shaped like his horn.
"Flower Cannon!" Lillymon shouted as a flower opened and formed into a cannon, firing a green energy.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" Zudomon shouted, slamming his hammer down and a bolt of lightning shoots out.
"Gate of Destiny!" MagnaAngemon shouted, circling his beam sword. It creates a golden gate. When it opened, it fires a rainbow beam of energy.
"Celestial Arrow!" Angewomon shouted as she formed a bow, resembling her wings. She then fires an arrow made out of pure light.
"Vee-Vee-Vee Laser!" JetVeemon shouted, firing red and blue lasers from his cybernetics.
"Laser Sting!" MachoStingmon shouted, firing a green stinger-like laser.
"Devine Feather Shower!" ShineAquilamon shouted, unleashing golden feathers, making them rain down.
"Tail Launcher!" TankAnkylomon shouted, firing his mace-like tail.
Their attacks all struck Mephistomon as Kairi, Riku, and Naminé slashed at him with their Keyblades. Sora then came at Mephistomon with the Kingdom Key and Dinosaur King, giving the evil Digimon the finishing blow. The Pawn Chessmon, KnightChessmon, BishopChessmon, and RookChessmon have entered the throne room and witnessed it. Mephistomon roared in pain as he literally cracks in half and comes apart. He then dissolved into bits of data, freeing Max, KingChessmon, and QueenChessmon.
"By Jove," KingChessmon said.
"And that's that," Sora said, dismissing his two Keyblades.
"Way to go, Sora," Kairi said.
"That was awesome," Davis said.
"Yes, it was," Knightmon agreed with awe. He approached Sora and he kneeled before him.
"Knightmon, what are you doing?" Sora asked.
"Showing you the absolute respect. What I have witnessed was the strength courage of a true knight. You have earned my undying respect, Sir Sora Ketchum of the Town of Pallet," Knightmon said. The PawnChessmon and KnightChessmon all kneeled to Sora.
"You don't need to do that, Knightmon. I just did what I thought was right," Sora said, feeling embarrassed.
"I insist. The tales of your bravery will be told from this day forward," Knightmon said.
"I agree," QueenChessmon said. She approached Sora. "You came to our aid and you slayed Mephistomon, not allowing fear and doubt to overwhelm you. We are forever in your debt."
"Here, here," KingChessmon said.
"I guess everyone has their own version of a hero in their eyes, huh?" Amy asked.
"You're sure right about that, Amy," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Vee," Celeste said.
"And we must have a feast in your honor, Sir Sora Ketchum," KingChessmon said.
"Um, thanks," Sora said, chuckling nervously.
So, a feast was held in honor of the heroics of Sora and those who fought beside him, making it a day the Chessmon will always remember.
Back in Hollow Bastion, Setro, Ariel, Jade, Professor Layton, and Luke gathered around Brian as he is about to make an announcement of what he discovered.
"So, what's the big deal, Brian?" Jade asked.
"Well, what I found out so far turns out to be true after all. There is a world made of digital information," Brian said.
"Digital information?" Luke asked.
"How is that even remotely possible?" Professor Layton asked.
"I don't know, but that's what I found out. I thought it was a silly thing until I dug even further. What I found out is that this Digital World isn't just made from computer data from this world, but several others that have computer access. It was expanding and growing in ways nobody could understand," Brian explained.
"A Digital World? That sounds like something in a video game," Jade said.
"Yeah, and the local inhabitants are called Digimon," Brian said.
"Digimon?" Setro, Ariel, Jade, Professor Layton, and Luke asked.
"Are they anything like Pokémon?" Setro asked.
"I'm not seeing a connection between the two, but I have been seeing some Porygon in this world since their whole bodies are made from digital information. The same for their evolved forms. I was surprised about it when I first saw it. But somehow, it's connected with Ansem," Brian said.
"How is it connected with Ansem?" Ariel asked.
"I don't know, but I'm going to keep looking into it and let you know when I find anything out," Brian said.
"Alright, keep us in the loop," Setro said.
"Can do," Brian said. He heads for his computer and does a thorough look into the Digital World. "Okay, Digimon, what sort of secrets do you have?"
Meanwhile, back in the Digital World, the group of four are still walking through a forest.
"Are you sure we're going the right way, Zach?" The boy with messy brown hair asked the boy with the glasses.
"I'm not a hundred percent sure, Patrick, but I'm sure we'll meet up with the other six since they have the Spirits of the Warriors of flame, light, thunder, wind, ice, and darkness," Zach said.
"Right. While we have the Spirits of metal, wood, water, and earth. I mean, it seems cool that we turn into Digimon. But how are we going to know when we see them?" The girl asked.
"Marina's right. The Digital World is a big place, and they'll be anywhere," the boy with the baseball cap asked.
"And not to mention, this Devimon is out there," Patrick said.
"That's why we're looking for them, you guys," Zach said.
Just then, a bunch of humanoid Digimon wearing a black rubber suits that obscures most of their features. Their faces are covered by gas masks that has tubes connected to the pack on their backs. They each have three fingers on each hand with what appears to be ports at the fingertips, and their feet look mechanized, with three clawed toes on each. They were all armed with firearms that are a combination of the AK-47 and the submarine Thomspon Submarine machine gun.
"Troopmon!" The group gasped.
"Okay, you guys, let's take them!" Zach said. He takes out his Digivice. "Patrick, Marina, Jason, you guys ready?"
"Yeah!" Patrick, Marina, and Jason said.
"Alright!" Zach said as data gathers around their hands.
"Execute!" Zach, Patrick, Marina, and Jason said in unison. "Spirit Evolution!" The four underwent a transformation.
Zach has transformed into a Human Hybrid Level Digimon that resembles a cross between a flamboyant marionette and a robot. His body is covered in mirrors with two on his forearms that serve as shields, two the front and back sides of his abdomen, and one for a face.
"Mercurymon!"
Patrick has transformed into a Human-hybrid Digimon that resembles an ogre/troll hybrid monster with snake eyes, a big nose, spikes for armor, a stocking hat with a spike on the end.
"Grumblemon!"
Marina a Human-Hybrid Digimon that looks like a beautiful frog-girl. She possesses fish-like flippers on her head (which are her ears) and hips while her swimming cap and gauntlets resemble tadpoles. She's naturally barefoot.
"Ranamon!"
Jason has transformed into a Human Hybrid Digimon that resembles an android made of wood.
"Arbormon!"
The four warrior Digimon stood before the Troopmon, preparing to fight them.
"Open fire!" One of the Troopmon shouted as the Troopmon began firing their firearms.
"I don't think so," Mercurymon said, holding up one of his arms. The mirrors absorbed the blasts. "Here. You can have these back. Dark Reflection!" The Troopmon's blasts comes back at them, hitting some of them.
Grumblemon jumped up and pulled out two hammers with spikes.
"Seismic Sledge!" Grumblemon shouted, slamming the hammers down, bashing some of the Troopmon.
Some of the Troopmon surrounds Ranamon and they aim their weapons at her.
"We can take her, boys! She's just a girl!" One of the Troopmon said.
"Now, that's plain sexist. And it's going to cost you!" Ranamon said, summoning several rain clouds. "Draining Rain!" She sends the rain clouds and makes it rain on them.
"You think a little rain storm is going to stop u-" The first Troopmon was cut off as they suddenly felt weak. "What is happening to us?"
"That's what you get for underestimating girls. And here's one more gift to give you!" Ranamon said, raising her hand. "Whipping Waves!" She summoned giant pillars of water and sends the Troopmon flying. They then dissolve into bits of data when they hit the ground.
More Troopmon fires at Arbormon, but he avoids their fire with his moves.
"Roundhouse Punt!" Arbormon shouted as he Punched and kicked the Troopmon from five feet with his arms and legs connected by long cables. The Troopmon dissolved into data. But more shows up. "Who else wants some?"
The Troopmon were being overwhelmed by the four warriors despite outnumbering them. The Troopmon kept on firing and firing with some being returned to them by Mercurymon's shields. It went on until the last Troopmon was destroyed. The four warriors revert back to their human forms.
"Man, those guys mean some serious business," Jason said.
"Devimon must have sent them just to soften us up," Patrick said.
"That was his mistake. Come on. Let's keep moving," Zach said.
With that said, Zach, Patrick, Marina, and Jason kept on going to find Takuya, Koji, JP, Zoe, Tommy, and Koichi. But how will they act when they find out that there are four other DigiDestined with the same ability as them? Stick around for the next chapter if you wanna find out.
