My Pov
"If I add some lace to this... and then make this blue or red..." I mumbled as I figured out the last details of a dress I was planning to make. I'm Sarah Abraham, an eighteen year-old girl. I am what's known as an Ultimate, someone who excel above others in a certain profession. My title is the Ultimate Seamstress. Currently, I am sitting on a train that is heading for Eden's Garden Academy. This academy was a special college for people like me. I was nervous as this would be the first time in a long time that I was around people. I hoped I could regain a sense of normalcy. I was so in engrossed in my sketch that I didn't notice someone had sat next to me. I didn't notice until I moved my shoulder and it hit something, or rather someone. I looked to see a boy about my age had sat next to me and I had elbowed his arm. "Oh! I'm sorry!"
"..." He didn't even respond. Just glared at me. Great. Not even at the academy yet and I've pissed someone off. I took in the boy's appearance. He wore simple clothes, nothing too flashy. He looked rather on the thin side and his eyes looked so tired. Judging from the slight dark circles under his eyes, he might not be sleeping well. Speaking of his eyes, they were a really pretty light green. His hair was black with some light lime green highlights near the ends. He also had this cute alligator beanie on his head!
"I'm really sorry. I get so absorbed in what I'm doing that I'm oblivious to what's around me." I explained. The boy just glared at me slightly and turned his head away. Great... I went back to what I was doing, my mood dropping. As I started sewing a small version of the dress(something I did so I could see what clothes would look like and if something needed to be changed), I heard some music. Wait, that was-! I tapped the boy on the shoulder. He gave me and side glance before lifting one of the speakers of his headphones up and pausing the music.
"What?" he asked, sounding really irritated.
"Sorry, but... is that Rave Wonder by Mayhem?" I asked. The boy's demeanor changed almost immediately as his expression went from annoyed to what looked like a mix of shock and embarrassment.
"Y-You know about Mayhem?" he asked.
"Yeah! I love his music! The way he mixes music together so well to evoke emotion is amazing! His music actually helps me while I work!" I said, beaming with excitement I noticed the boy's cheeks were now dusted pink and he was pulling his beanie down, trying to cover his face. "You okay?"
"F-F-Fine!" the boy stuttered. I wonder what he was so embarrassed about? I cleared my throat.
"We got off on a wrong start. My name is Sarah Abraham." I said, extending my hand. The boy looked from my hand and then at my face several times before taking my hand and shaking it. His hand was trembling. Was he scared or just really shy?
"Mark. Mark Berskii." he said. Mark. That was a nice name. He seems like a quiet guy.
"I hope we can get along as classmates and friends, Mark." I said. He quickly put his headphones back on and restarted his music. I settled back down in my seat. I watched as several other people got on. I took note of everyone's appearance. The most unique one was a female student who looked much too young to be going to a college. She looked looked like she was still in elementary school, but if she's here, she must have been invited by Eden's Garden Academy. It wasn't until the last person, a boy, had sat down after boarding that I started to smell something odd. It was some weird odor. That's when I started feeling dizzy.
"S-Someone open a window!" I yelled. Several other students tried opening the windows or the door to the outside, but all were locked. That's when, one by one, everyone started passing out. I weakly banged on one of the windows with one hand while covering my mouth and nose with the other. "Can't... stay... awake..." I slumped to the floor as darkness clouded my vision.
...
...
...
I heard what sounded like chattering, but I couldn't make out the voices.
"Ugh..." I groaned as I began to regain consciousness.
"Hey, she's waking up." a female voice said. I groggily looked up, my vision swimming. When my vision came back into focus, I saw two people; a boy and a girl around my age. The boy had short blonde hair and green eyes. The girl had long black hair that was faded to white near the ends and blue eyes. Wait, they had been on the train. The boy knelt down and offered his hand.
"Need help?" the boy asked. I nodded and grabbed his hand. He pulled me up and I tried to steady myself.
"Wha-what's going on?" I asked.
"We have no idea. We came to not long before you did." the girl said.
"It seems we've been taken to some strange location." the boy said. Strange location? That's when my pulse increased slightly. Was this...?
"Also, it seems that shock devices have been put on our left wrist." the girl said. I looked down at my left wrist and sure enough, there was some weird device on my wrist. "Don't try and mess with it. It seems they're program to administer a shock if you do." My pulse increased again. I felt myself starting to shake.
"Are you all right?" the boy asked. I straightened myself out.
"Y-Yes. Just nervous." I said.
"May I ask your name and Ultimate?" the boy asked again.
"I'm... Sarah Abraham, the Ultimate Seamstress." I answered.
"A seamstress... that's a shaky profession, isn't it?" the boy asked.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Not necessarily. There's certain areas in the fashion industry that still need tailors and seamstresses, although it is a small margin." the girl said. Were these two making fun of my talent?
"What are your names, since I told you mine?" I asked.
"I'm Damon Maitsu, the Ultimate Debater." the boy said. Damon Maitsu the Ultimate Debater. He must think quick on his feet and good with persuasion.
"You may call me Eva Tsunaka." the girl said. I noticed that Eva didn't reveal her talent. I finally took a look around me and notice we were in some kind of boiler room.
"Are we locked in here?" I asked.
"We haven't tried the door yet." Damon said. I walked over to the door and tried it. It clicked open.
"Well, I guess we should check out wherever we are." I suggested. The two of them gave each other a glance before following behind me.
