Author's Note: I've been on this site since 2009. It's where I discovered fanfiction, and even though I prefer Archive of Our Own, I still cross-post here, out of sentimental fondness.
No longer. Every time I post, I get several annoying PMs, all from "aspiring artists" hoping to commission artwork from me or get me to pay them to "enhance" my writing:
"Appreciation and commission request"
"Your vision, brought to life!"
"Creative input for your story"
... and on and on. Mostly struggling manga or comic artists who want me to "hang out with them on Discord" and, I guess, convince me to finance their little art career.
If you're one of them, please stop bothering me and other serious writers. You're ruining the fun of this site. Earn your money some other way.
In the past, I've had artists and writers tell me they were inspired by my work, and wanted to create something based on it. They always agreed to give me credit for the original story (just a link, that's all I asked) and never asked for money.
Readers and fans: you're welcome to continue to read updates of the story on Archive of Our Own. Look for shoreleave.
