Finally! After almost twenty years was watching every Michael Bay explosion military hard ons, get to see an actual Transformers movie. Transformers One! The one Transformers movie that matter. I got to admit, after people giving this trailer flack on the trailers and claiming it to be more of a kids movie, they really need to see this one as it is true to the franchise and not those multi expensive explosions and bad Transformer designs. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Now this is suppose to be a retelling of the Origin story with a bit of a twist. Specifically, how Orion Pax and D-16 became Optimus Prime and Megatron and when the birth of the Autobots and Decepticons took place. Storywise, it all fits well, from the origin of Cybertron and the Transformers, the shocking revelations, right down to the birth of Optimus and Megatron. The character designs were top notch as it's a far cry from the abomination of Michael Bay's design. The animation makes sense as you don't really need any humans for your 'Transformers' film. And taking a different take of Optimus and Megatron being miners and best friends before becoming leaders of their respective team and enemies fits the origin story. Not to mention all those little easter eggs of other characters, appearances, and so many good references from the franchise was quite fitting. Definitely the film that were wanted to see.
Were there some nitpicks? Probably... The Quintessons were only there for just a brief moment and weren't the main antagonists for the film. Yes, Sentinel Prime makes a lot more sense considering his backstory behind the film, and of course everyone would hate Sentinel even on TFA giving he was a jerk with Optimus and his friends. But the Quintessons are pretty much the bad bad guys before the Decepticons arrived. Maybe they would plan on having the Quintessons be on the second installment or a new series. But giving how ticket sales went, more on that later, I fear there won't be a sequel or a series in the near future. Bringing in the big time stars like Christ Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson to reprise the roles of bots and Optimus and Elita One were head scratchers. I mean, Peter Cullen was the original voice of Optimus since day one and it feels like he would've reprise his role as the Prime. However, with unknown health concern from Pete and of course the voice of Optimus Primal, Garry Chalk, has stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma, I guess it is understandable while we won't hear those famous voices over the years. Hmm... Wonder if Christ would be the new Optimus in the future...? The movie was a bit short and while it had a lot of digest, just wished for more of a friendship between Orion and D-16 before their decline into enemies. And finally, there's the way they advertised it. At the first sight of the teaser trailer, everyone immediately judged it and believed that this film was meant for kids. It was the reason why a lot of people didn't buy tickets to see the film, thinking it's for kids. Yes, it is for kids. But it's more than that. This is a film for adults. It's a film for Hardcore Transformer Fans. It's a film for everyone! And yet we have a certain few on Youtube claiming that it's a kids movie and people shouldn't watch it. I blame Youtube for it.
Regardless, this is an incredible film and has a good spin on the origin story. If you are interested in watching this film, it is available to stream on Paramount. Go ahead and see it for yourself.
Now that we got it out of the way, let's proceed with Goji's Origin story.
Now for the last chaper, or last two chapters, it was just basically over forty views for the past two chapters. Add them up, it's pretty much eighty or ninety. Also, while I didn't get enough of reviews, I still have to deal with the so called artists that keep demanding that I work with them. Again, STOP TALKING TO ME OF COLLABING! I won't answer, nor will I accept any offer. My life was nearly ruined last year, I will not go through with that scrap again.
Now for the summary for the next chapter.
As Arcee was teaching Sari and Goji on the history of Cybertron, word got out that Optimus and his team to return to Cybertron for a briefing on the invasion in Detroit. And Goji... She ain't happy about it.
Chapter Notes
Remember when I mentioned that this is about Transformers One. Well this chapter starts with the origin of the film and the revelation in the middle. But I want to add my mix to it. Trust me, you will see it when you see it.
Chapter Notes: I don't own Transformers Animated
Chapter 4: Cybertronian History 101
Goji POV
"At the dawn of time, there was our gracious and powerful creator… Primus. To protect our universe, he sacrificed his lifeforce, transforming himself into our planet. Cybertron. From within Cybertron's core, Primus birthed the first Cybertronians, known as the Primes. They are the most powerful transformers who are sworn to protect and nurture future generations. To assist them, Primus created an entity of great power. The Matrix of Leadership. With the Matrix in the Primes possession, Cybertron's natural power source, energon, flowed in abundance, sustaining life for all Cyberonian kinds."
"Remind me again, why are we learning all this?"
Yep. I'm bored. Scratch that. I'm bored to death. I thought I was going to learn some cool Cybertronian stuff, not a stuffy history lesson. But..I'm getting off track here.
Almost two months have passed since Sari and I have been turned into Cybertronians due to a risk taking procedure and we have just adjusted to our new lives. I was able to stand and barely walk. Course I still need support as I was using crutches to help walk with one good leg while keeping the one that was slightly damaged up until that's fully recovered. Sigh… This is what I get when I get overly excited about presenting myself as a female.
Oh right, need to talk about that. After I told Arcee about wanting to be female and she accepted me as one, I had to speak to the other members of the Autobots the same, now that I am comfortable over it. There were…mixed reactions though. Some find it awkward of me wanting to be referred to as a girl as I am, or was, a guy. Others find it all right due to my body type and voice box looking and sounding like a girl. As for Sari… Well… Let's just say she's elated to have a girlfriend (As in best friend who is a girl). Got to say, things have been kind to me.
Anyways, as I mentioned before, I was in a separate room with Sari by my side, sitting on these high tech desks with holo monitors for classes on Cybertron. Since the two of us are Cybertronian, that means that we need to learn about Cybertron. And who better to teach us then with Arcee, who was once a teacher before becoming a soldier from what Ratchet told me. Still, I was expecting something exciting, not boring.
Arcee looked at me and gave a sigh over my annoyance. "I told you my sweet spark, it is important for you. Now that the both of you are Cybertronian, you have to learn about our history and culture in Cybertron. Do you really want to go into our homeworld blindly without any knowledge of it?"
I rolled my eyes around and said to her, "I know… I know… I have to learn to be a Cybertronian just because I am one. But shouldn't we be doing something fun with this then listening to some tiresome history lesson?"
Arcee crossed her arms and reminded me what I was learning. "This 'tiresome history lesson' is the creation of Cybertron. It is how every Cybertronian knows of our creation and creator. Key aspects in understanding our history."
I soon placed my elbow on the desk and turned away a little annoyed. "Hmph… Sounds boring to me…"
Sari though looked intrigued and decided to join in on the conversation.
"I don't know… I think this is interesting to learn." she said to me. "Who knows, maybe we get to learn more when we visit Cybertron."
I looked at Sari and said with a sigh, "Of course you like this. You were of course a techno organic before the attacks. Still, the idea of going to Cybertron myself doesn't sound that bad. I would prefer going around the town then getting cooped up in here listening to boring lessons."
Sari turned to me and gave a bit of a chuckle. "You never like going to classes, huh?"
I rolled my optics and reminded her, "You know I have both autism and dyslexia? So when it comes to school, I tend to get antsy and can't understand big words. I had to take a few tutors to help me with my education. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I just hope there's no pop quiz after this. Just thinking of these things makes my head spin violently."
Sari couldn't help but to chuckle at my misgivings and said, "You are funny. You know that right?"
The two soon heard Arcee clapping her servos and told them to pay attention.
"Class? Please pay attention! You need to know Cybertronian history if you are able to be a Cybertronian. Nothing can be learned by looking around. Understand?"
The two turned to them as Sari responded with, "Yes, professor."
Arcee turned to me and wondered if I would pay attention.
"Understand, Goji?"
I looked at her and decided to listen to her for once. As much as I don't like the idea of listening to some boring history lesson, it is the only way to understand Cybertron.
"Yes, professor…" I said with a groan.
Arcee smiled and decided to continue the lesson.
"Good. Now where was I?" She fakely gave it some thought until she remembered where she was. "Ah, yes… Now I remember. For a time, Cybertron once lived in peace and prosperity. At least until the Quintessons came and attacked our home world, thus starting the First Grand War."
Both me and Sari heard that word and were a little confused at first. That's when Sari raised her hand and asked, "Quintessons? I never heard of them before."
"Yeah, me neither." I rebutted. "What are they? Some pre-Decepticon militia or something?"
Arcee listened to the two and chuckled a bit before she got serious. "Not really, sweet spark. The Quintessons are a ruthless band of aliens who like nothing more than to take over worlds and strip them of their resources. And when they heard of Cybertron and its never ending stream of energon, they knew that they had hit the Earth equivalent of a gold mine. They arrived and attacked our homeworld, wanting to take the energon for themselves. However, to do that…"
She stopped and waited for either of the students to answer. Suddenly, Sari raised her servo and knew where she was going with it. "They need the Matrix of Leadership!"
Arcee turned to her and warmly smiled. "That's correct, Ms. Sumdac. In order for them to gain control of the energon, they need the Matrix of Leadership to get an unlimited supply. After all, whoever controls the Matrix, controls all of the Cyberon and its resources."
Sari pulled her fist back and had her eyes closed, knowing she got that right. I on the other hand peered my eyes to her and gave a deep groan.
"Yeah… I could've answered that."
Sari looked at me and gave a bit of a sly smug. "Right… Like you already know what the answer is."
I glared at Sari. While we are glaring at each other, Arcee clapped her servos to get them focused on the screen.
"Students. Focus please."
We both went back to look at the holo projector as she continued with the lessons.
"Now, with the Quintessons wishing to take the Matrix for their own and have control of all the energon, the Primes had to act. Hence the Cybertronian/Quintesson war started. It lasted for many Vorns and lives were lost on both ends. For a time, every Cybertronian thought that the war would last for an eternity. But then, there was The Fall."
We looked at her and were a little confused by what she meant.
"The…Fall?"
Arcee nodded and explained to us of that. "Indeed. It was a dark time within Cybertron. Near the end of the war, the battle stretched so thin, and resources of both ends were limited. Indeed, the Energon gave us the advantage, but with forces dwindling and patience wearing thin, Cybertron was at the losing end of the war. Only the Primes were the only hope in keeping stability within our home. But then one day, as they were gathered to strategize for a way in ending the war, they got a private transmission from Megatronus Prime."
Hitting the button, she showed a holographic image of a huge and burly Prime with a spear in his servo and a battle mask that looked oddly similar. Both Sari and I looked at this individual and started to notice the face mask.
"Wait a sec… Is that…?" I asked, starting to gain a bit of interest in what I was looking at.
Arcee turned to see the mask guard and gave a nod. "Yes, sweet spark. That mask you see is actually from the Decepticon's Insignias. And Megatronous was the reason behind it."
"So who is Megatronous?" Sari asked with a raise of her hand.
Turning to the hologram, Arcee explained to the two who he is. "Megatronus Prime was one of the strongest Primes within the grand council. While he's not much of a talker like the others, he uses his actions as words. With strength, speed, and artillery, he was the best of the Primes."
"Was…?" I asked with curiosity.
Arcee nodded and continued. "While the others wanted to continue the war to hold the Quintessons at bay, Megatronous wishes to end it now and be done with it. And yet no matter how much he convinced them to end it, the Primes refused and would rather stretch it out long enough for the Quintessons to give up. However, given how long the war lasted and the many lives lost between the two factions, Megatronous was at his breaking point and had to act on his own. And you know what they say, desperate mechs do desperate things."
"So what did he do?" Sari asked out of curiosity.
Arcee sighed and told them what occurred near the end of the war. "Nearing the end of the war, Megatronous contacted the Primes on some unique intel. He intercepted an encrypted transmission from the Quintessons private lines that only the higher ups have accessed. From what he gathered, there was going to be a secret gathering of Quintesson commanders led by their leader of a secret plan to attack Iacon, Cybertron's highly secured city. Even provided coordinates in where the secret meeting will be taking place. The Primes believe that if they are all annihilated, it would end the war. It was a mission so important, that the Primes took it on themselves without their High Guard. They agreed to meet Megatronous for his sensitive Intel in secret close to where the gathering would take place. When they got in contact with Megatronous, he stated that the meeting had already started and they have to act now. So they all went into the secluded cave far from the city and were prepared to ambush the generals and their leader. However, by the time they arrived, they didn't see any general, let alone a leader. They all thought that the Intel was just a diversion, and believe it or not, they were correct. By the moment they entered the cave, a huge swarm of Quintessons came down from the ceiling and attacked. Yes, they were outnumbered, but the Primes were united as one. At first, they all thought that victory was theirs until…" She looked down and gave a bit of a sigh.
Sari and I looked at each other and knew where this was going. It was then that I raised my hand and asked what she was about to say.
"Megatronus Prime betrayed them, did he?"
Arcee looked to me and nodded. "Indeed… He did… Apparently, there was a cue between him and the Quintesson leader where he will offer him the Matrix in exchange for eliminating the Primes and Megatronous would rule over all of Cybertron with an iron fist. It was a…gruesome time where the Primes were brutally killed, half of them by the Quintessons, the other half in the servos of Megatronous. The only soul survivor was Alpha Trion as the Quintessons held onto him while Megatronouse and the Quintesson's leader were over the body of Vector Prime. Megatronous pry the Matrix of Leadership from Vector's chest plate and was about to hand it to the leader as a token of appreciation. But before the deal was finalized. The High Guard, led by Ultra Magnus, commence a surprise attack and pushed through to stop the two."
Sari heard that name and said, "Ultra Magnus? You mean the leader of the Elite Guard? I didn't know he was with the Primes."
Arcee chuckled and told her about that. "Oh, Sari… There's a lot of things you don't know about Ultra Magnus. Believe it or not, Ultra Magnus was only the principle aid to the Primes, in fact, he was just Magnus before he was given the title. He was there when Megatronous contacted the other Primes of this supposed intel. He knew that something was off and warned Vector Prime that this could be an ambush and requested to provide backup for them in case it goes down like that. But the Primes assured him that they can handle it on their own, trap or not. However, as they were leaving, Magnus knew that they could be in danger and secretly recruited the High Guard in a rescue mission to get the Primes out of there. Once he got the high guard on his side, they rushed to the coordinates to get the Primes to safety. But by the time they got there, it was too late as all but one Prime were killed. Still, they needed to protect Alpha Trion and get the Matrix back. They all made the change and fought their way through the Quintesson army and tried to stop the deal. Even Alpha Trion, despite his injuries, managed to fight off Megatronous and bring him down while Magnus dealt the final blow to the Quintesson leader with his hammer, ending the long and grueling war."
When they heard of this part of history, they were surprised that this Quintesson war was costly, let alone dangerous.
"Whoa… I never thought that the first war on Cybertron could be that vicious. And I thought the war against the Decepticons was bad." Sari said as she turned to me.
I looked at her and was in total agreement. "Hmph… Tell me about it. If Megatron was a bad guy, then this Megatronus character must've been the worst if he betrayed his own comrades in battle. Hmm… Wonder if Megatron got his name from Megatronous. I mean, the names between the two are a bit…similar."
Arcee heard me and told me, "It is…possible. After all, Megatron gave himself the designation to honor Megatronus back when he was just a miner. But that's another lesson for another time."
"So… What happened? You said that the war ended when Alpha Trion and Magnus defeated both Megatronus and the Quintesson leader. What was the aftermath?" I asked with curiosity.
Arcee nodded and explained about that part. "After the Quintesson leader was defeated in the servos of Magnus, the commanders and the army fled out of Cybertron, knowing they can't follow orders without their leader. Once the war is over, Alpha Trion, the only Prime that survived the ambush, promoted Magnus from Principle Aid to high ranking commander, giving him the title of Ultra Magnus while the High Guard became the Elite Guard, the new protectors of Cybertron. As for Megatronus Prime, due to his treachery and murder of the Primes, he was Banished from Cybertron, ultimately giving him the title of…The Fallen."
I heard that and was a little uneasy about that name. "The Fallen…? Sheesh… That's quite a title. Hope I don't run into him in the future. What about the Matrix?"
Arcee clicked on a few keys and showed the digital global map of Cybertron and zoomed up to the city of Iacon. Showing a chamber underneath the Elite Guard base of operations, she answered, "The Matrix of Leadership is located underneath the Elite Guard facility. Highly secure and only Alpha Trion will be the only one who will have access to it. It remains there to this day and will only be revealed when a new Prime arises to take Alpha Trion's place. Or in more precise, a Prime that has the versatile sacrifice and bravery as the originals. As for the Fallen… Well… No one knows for sure what has happened to him since banishment. Some might think that he would never be seen again. Only time will tell…"
As soon as she finished with that history lesson, the holo screen immediately went static until Jazz appeared from front of Arcee and the students to share some news.
"Hey Arcee! Sorry to interrupt, but Optimus needs everyone at the bridge for a quick announcement. You better get down there ASAP."
Arcee looked at Jazz and nodded. "Understood. I'm on my way."
She soon looked at us and told us, "Sorry class, but I'm afraid we have to cut this lecture short. Remember to study your Cybertronian history, it is important when we visit Cybertron one day. Class dismissed."
She soon waved to us and left the room, wondering what Optimus wanted. As she left, we both looked at each other and was curious what was going on.
"Huh… That's odd… Never thought Opitmus would tell Arcee to come to the bridge and not us. I wonder what's going on?"
I too was confused by this and had to do something. "I don't know… But I don't want to wait around to find out. C'mon Sari! Let's go!"
I soon left my desk and proceeded to leave the classroom with my crutches in my servos to support my bad leg.. Sari looked at me and told me to stop. "Whoa! Hold on there, Goji! Where do you think you're going?"
I stopped and turned to her, giving her the answer that she might not like. "Isn't it obvious? I'm going to the bridge to see what's happening."
And of course, Sari reacted the way I expected it. "What?! Goji, you can't be serious. We shouldn't get involved in their business. We should return to our dorms and wait to see what they say. Besides, I need to study Cybertronian history if I am able to understand their culture."
I looked at her with my head tilted and sighed. "Okay… You want to go to your room and study, that's fine by me. I'm sure it's nothing important like… Oh… I don't know… If we are planning to return to Detroit after being stuck in this ship for two months. Maybe check on our homes if there's something to salvage or lay our families to rest. Nothing too important or anything. I'm sure your studies are first and foremost then returning home. But what do I know?" I soon limped away and waved to Sari. "Well… Best head down there and see what the team is up to. Good luck on the pop quiz on Cybertronian history."
As soon as I left, Sari sat there and was pale faced. While she wanted to study and get a good grade to prepare her for Cybertronian life, she was keenly interested in whether they are planning to return to Detroit. After giving it some thought, she decided to catch up to me and left her desk and classroom. "Hey Goji! Wait for me!" The two left the classroom as they both approached the bridge to see what they would find.
Meanwhile…
"We're returning to Cybertron?!"
Bumblebee's voice echoed throughout the bridge as the team gathered for an emergency meeting. Optimus rubbed the temples of his forehead together as he said, "Unfortunately, yes. Ultra Magnus has heard of what happened on Earth and needs us back for a briefing and the damage and casualty count."
Bee still didn't like it as he continued to complain about this. "Not that it bothers you, sir. But don't you think we should at least let them know we still need to be stationed on Earth in case another Decepticon attack would happen. Who's going to protect it if we are away?"
Optimus sighed and told him, "It is only for a couple of solar cycles. We'll head to Cybertron, give them a briefing before the council, and then return. Besides, Team Athenia will remain to handle clean up and assess the situation. They'll be looking after the planet in case another Con attack happens."
Bumblebee rolled his optics around and reminded him, "Right… Because that went well for them the last time. Heard Hot Rod himself got attacked by some Cosmic Rust when a group of Cons attacked one of the space bridges."
"And I'll have you know that Hot Rod managed to survive that ordeal too. Thank the All Spark medical teams came in and helped remove the rust from his body, otherwise it would've been fatal." Ratchet told him.
"Still, ditching the planet like this is a glitch move. Ultra Magnus should know even with another team keeping watch, the planet will still be vulnerable."Bee continued.
Bulkhead rubbed the back of his helm and agreed with his friend. "Bee is right, boss bot. I feel weird leaving Earth. Even after what happened two vorns ago, I don't know if it's a good idea to leave the planet we swore to protect and leave it in the servos of those that haven't experienced what we experienced. At least that's my opinion."
Optimus heard the two and took a breather. Hearing those two, he knows that they are right. After the Decepticons attack Detroit, they can't leave the planet unprotected, even if Team Athenia is down there. However, Ultra Megnus would love to hear their testimony of what occurred on Earth and he has to follow it to the letter. Lowering his helm, he told everyone, "Look, I don't like it as much as any of you, but we have our orders. And Magnus, he needs to have us there for our experience in the attack and how to resolve it from happening again."
Suddenly, he heard the voice of Arcee close by.
"And what about the kids?"
Hearing that, he turned to see Arcee with a look of both concern and anger.
"What about them?" he asked her.
Arcee sighed and reminded him who else was on the ship. "You know who I mean. Sari and Goji. They have been in this ship since they had to go through with some extreme and questionable surgeries. And now you are suggesting that we take them to Cybertron given who they once were. They were born on Earth for Primus sake! They can't leave here!"
Jazz was next to her and gave the Prime his thoughts. "The girl is right, boss-bot. The kids have been on that planet since they were created. Having them ditch the planet is like ditching a gal pal on a date. I'm… I'm sure Prowl would've agreed with me, if he was here." Jazz lowered his helm and was a little somber over his good friend.
Optimus heard their thoughts and knew that they had a point. Sari and Goji are from Earth and forcing them to leave would be…difficult for them. "I understand your concern, you two. With both of them from Earth, it would be hard for them to accept leaving it. And I know Prowl would agree with that as well. But given how Detroit is now, and since they lost both their families in the attack, I don't think it's best that they would return, until things can calm down. Until they recover and adjust to their new lives, they are staying on the ship. So they are going to Cybertron with us."
Before anyone could argue about that.
"THAT'S NOT YOUR DECISION!"
Everyone heard that and turned to see who screamed. That's when they saw Goji standing there with her crutches, with a pissed off look on her face and Sari standing behind her, looking a little nervous over her outburst. She soon raised her servo and said, "I'm sorry. I tried to stop her, but she insisted on eavesdropping."
Goji POV
To say I was mad is an understatement. I was furious. Sari and I sneaked our way to the bridge, hoping no one would detect us. By the time we got to the bridge, I couldn't help but to overhear the news of us leaving Earth and heading to Cybertronian. I was upset, yes. But not as upset on what Optimus said about us. That we can't return to Earth even after what we both went through and won't be able to see how things change. I was so mad at them that I bursted into the room and let out all my frustrations.
"THAT'S NOT YOUR DECISION!"
They all saw me starring in shock and surprise, so much so that I couldn't hear Sari apologizing for my transgressions. "I'm sorry. I tried to stop her, but she insisted in eavesdropping."
Arcee saw me looking very upset as she tried to calm me down. "Goji, please… Return to your room at once. This doesn't concern you."
I turned to Arcee and blurted it out, "NO, ARCEE! This IS my concern." I turned to Optimus, demanding answers. "And you! Prime! I respect you saving my life and giving me a second chance, but you want us all to leave Earth. MY HOME!"
Optimus could hear my anger pulsing and lowered his helm to shake it. "Goji… Please… I know you don't want to leave Earth. But it is beyond my control. Ultra Magnus needs us to be on Cybertron for the briefing of the invasion in Detroit and the true extent of the damage. It will only be a few solar cycles though. I promise, we will return as soon as we are done with the briefing."
I, unfortunately, didn't like what he said and reminded him what happened back home. "A few days… A FEW DAYS!? Optimus, need I remind you that the Decepticons attacked Detroit in one day, and without warning. How long will it take for them to return while we are away for a few days? Huh? Even with Team Athenia down there, it won't be enough!"
Prime heard my worry and assured me that nothing would ever happen to the city, again. "I understand your concern, Goji. I really do. But I don't think that the Cons would attack Detroit again. After all…" He turned to see Sari behind Goji and put together why they decided to attack Detroit. "There was a reason why they attacked Detroit."
Sari could see him looking at her and turned away, knowing one specific reason for the Detroit attack.
Optimus turned back to me and continued with our 'conversation'.
"Regardless, we need to return to Cybertron to give Ultra Magnus and the council the extent of the damage. I promise that we will return as soon as possible."
I crossed my arms and still wasn't happy about that.
"Right… As soon as possible… By the time that happens, Detroit will be nothing but a crater. With all respect, Optimus, you are some serious glitch."
I soon turned around and walked out of the bridge with my crutches for support, nudging Sari out of the way. I left the bridge in a huff, knowing that by the time we get back, Detroit will be no more. And it will be Optimus's fault for that.
Everyone watched as Goji left the bridge and returned to her dorm. They were all silent after her outburst until Ratchet spoke up.
"Well… That could've gone better…"
The group turned to him and gave him some glaring stares. But Optimus remained calm and collective as he told his medic, "Goji went through so much since she came here. She needs some time to herself. Let's give her some space until she is ready to talk. Until then, we should prepare for our departure." He soon turned to Ratchet and gave him an order. "Ratchet, warm up Omega One's engines, we will prepare for departure in ten breems."
Ratchet nodded and went right to work. "Already on it. Omega One will be ready to leave as soon as possible." He soon left for the engine room to check on any Energon reserves to get them to Cybertron.
Optimus soon turned to Jazz and told him, "Jazz, get into contact with Team Athenia. Let them know of our departure and they have to look after the city until we return."
Jazz nodded and said, "Way ahead of you bossbot. They will get your word in two nano-clicks."
As all that was going on, Sari looked back to where Goji left and was concerned for her friend. Looking back and forth, she decided to go check on her. So she hurried back to their dormitory to see if she was okay. Turns out, she wasn't.
Goji's POV
I was angry… Sad… Distraught… Betrayed… So many negative emotions…circling around my head. I don't know where to begin.
I was leaving Earth…my home. The planet I was born on. Just so Optimus can return to Cybertron so Ultra Magnus can get a report on the condition of Detroit? There was a fragging war that happened there! What report do you want after that?!
Sigh…
I… I shouldn't have reacted like that back there. Not in front of Sari… Not in front of Arcee… And especially not in front of Optimus. I was mad, yes. And I have every right to be. But I shouldn't have lashed out like that. Guess I should apologize to Optimus when I calm down. I just hope that he will forgive me for what I just said.
*Knock-Knock*
I just heard the knock at the door and turned over to my bed I was laying in since the news broke out. Bed… Heh… Cybertronians call this a bed? It's more like one of those metal stretchers you see in the repair garage and the like. I miss my own bed. Still, I need to adjust to that as much as adjusting to drinking nothing but energon all my life.
"What?"
I waited to see who was knocking, hoping it won't be Optimus or Arcee. It was then that I heard a familiar voice.
"It's me, Sari… Mind if I come in?"
Hearing Sari at the door, I sighed and gestured her in.
"Yeah… You can come…"
The door slid open and Sari stepped in. Approaching my berth, she sat on the edge where my pedes lay and looked back to me. "So… You were…quite passionate about staying."
I heard that statement and was groaning for a bit. "Yeah… It was passionate…" I remained silent before I decided to apologize for my actions. "Look… Sorry for that outburst back there. I just heard them planning to leave and reacted in the worst way possible. And in front of Arcee too. Slag it! I bet she's mad at me now." I buried my servos onto my face and gave a deep groan through them.
Sari looked at my complete and utter breakdown and gave a deep sigh. "Well… You did catch us all by surprise. But don't blame them for it. They just need to leave for Cybertron for a brief moment and then return home. Don't worry, you'll get used to it around here. Though I cannot blame you. You were born on Earth and it would be difficult leaving it to a new planet you are not familiar with. Trust me, I had my experiences there when I first arrived. It…wasn't easy as I would put it."
I heard her mention it and decided to sit up on my berth and told her, "But…you are born on Earth too, right? Surely it was difficult leaving your home just to be on an alien planet."
Sari shook her head after hearing that and said to me, "Actually…I was technically born on Earth. In reality, I was born on Cybertron."
That caught me by surprise as I blinked my optics and almost had a spark attack. "Get out! Really? You were born on Cybertron!? Heh… Guess that could explain why half of you was Cybertronian. I thought that your dad built you. Heck, I had a theory that your name was shortened from Sumdac Automated Robotics Intelligence."
Sari chuckled at the thought of it and said, "Yeah… I figured someone would think that. But no, that wasn't the case. See, I…just appeared in my dad's office when I was just a baby protoform. By the time he touched my pod and was shocked, my pod scanned his DNA and basically created me. Dad told me everything after my…sudden realization. And even if Issac is my dad, I still feel like I have real parents, my Cybertronian parents. So when I first arrived on Cybertron, one of my goals was to find out where I was from and find my actual parents. Been trying to get some leads for months, only to lead me to some dead ends. Still, I wouldn't rest until I find out where I came from and who my Cybertronian parents are."
"And now that your dad is gone and you're fully Cybertronian, you are determined more than ever to find your real family on Cybertron. That must be quite the burden…" I said after hearing her story.
"Yeah… It is…" she continued. "Well, now that I am full Cybertronian, if not by choice, I can actually find my answer faster." It was then that Sari came up with an idea and said to me, "And you know what, you can come along too."
That sort of caught me by surprise and I turned my head and blurted out, "Wait- What?!"
"You heard me. This is your first time on Cybertron, and while the Autobots are going to be at their briefing, we can go out and I can show you the sites while I search for answers."
I listened to her plan and was a little hesitant at first. I mean, yes, going to Cybertron to visit seems exciting. But… That planet will be completely alien for me, and I'm still getting used to being Cybertronian. So it seems difficult for me to accept it yet. "I… I don't know…"
Sari tilted her head and assured me that nothing bad would happen. "Hey! Don't be so shy. You're going to love Cybertron. Besides, gotta keep your processor off everything that happened to you for the past two months. What do you say? You're in?."
Hearing her, I gave it a bit of thought and wondered how I should approach this. While I don't like the idea of visiting an alien planet, it seems like a better option than staying on the ship for who knows how long. With a deep sigh, I muttered, "I…" before and bluntly blurted out, "Okay. I'll do it. Beats getting cooped up in here for a long time, right?"
Sari soon gave off a warm smile on her face and was in glee. "Awesome! Don't worry Goji, you won't regret it. I got some ideas on what to do while you are there! Let's see, there's the Amusement Park I always wanted to go to, or maybe the Prime memorial to honor the original Primes. Oh! And wait until you get a taste of those Energon shakes. I tell ya, they are actually scrumptious."
I listened to what Sari was saying and lay back on the berth with my servos back on my face. A part of me thought that I was going to finally experience Cybertron that doesn't involve history books. Although, even if this is going to be a short vacation, it is going to be a long…trip…
That's all for this chapter. That's right, I decided to use the mix the Transformers One Lore with my own spin to it. I know a lot of people won't like it, but this is my take within the Transformers Animated world and fits within the universe completely. And again, if you wish to see the actual Transformers One film, it's still available on Paramount+ if you wish to watch it and seeing the original origin story. Hope you like this chapter. Stay tune for the next one where we actually get to see Goji's and Sair's actual robot modes and not their protoform stages. Stay tune for that. Please Review. #WherearetheGoodCartoons?
