Kevin, Lauren, Mike, Emily, and Jayden were all meeting up for lunch. Their children had been training to become the next samurai rangers and lunch meeting to go over their progress had become a regular thing. It was a good time to talk about their kids while also being able to catch up with each other. They didn't just fight Nighlok together. They were also friends and sometimes, they just wanted to hang out with each other.
"So, how has training been going with the kids?" Jayden asked.
"Adrian and Juliet have been working hard," Lauren started. "Adrian has been upset that he can't tell his two best friends about him training to become a ranger."
"We can tell that he doesn't want to lose his friends if the Nighlok become a threat again," Kevin added.
"I remember how hard that was," Mike commented. "By the way, Benjamin and Rosie have been doing great with training." Emily nodded in agreement.
"Brandon has been working hard too," Jayden said.
"I still can't believe that there are going to be two red rangers at the same time for this next team!" Mike exclaimed.
"Well, they kind of need the extra ranger since we have no idea what happened to Antonio and Mia," Emily said sadly.
"I'm sure wherever they are, they're alright," Lauren said. "They're tough."
"But unfortunately, they took their morphers and zords with them," Jayden said. Jayden had spent three years trying to look for them after they went missing. Antonio was his best friend, and he had a crush on Mia when they were trying to defeat Master Xandred. He wanted to find them. He met Kiana shortly after defeating Master Xandred, but they took their relationship slow. They started off as friends and officially started dating once Jayden came to the conclusion that Antonio and Mia didn't want to be found. She helped him understand that fact. He might have had his kid after the others had their kids, but he wasn't looking for a relationship for a while. It felt like Kiana had just found him. Unfortunately, she got really sick and passed away when Brandon was 6 years old. It was hard on him, but he didn't show the others or Brandon how much he was hurting from it at the time. They pushed, though, and Jayden eventually told them how he really felt about it. Jayden was just glad he still had Brandon. Jayden has been hoping that somewhere out there, Antonio and Mia are still alive and doing well. "I believe we'll find out what really happened to them. Someday."
Present
After the fight, the seven new samurai rangers rushed to the Shiba house. Matthew and Gianna ran in front, desperate to see their parents again. They arrived in no time and burst through the door. They saw their parents sitting there with all of the other parents who were checking them over and asking a million questions. Matthew and Gianna immediately ran to them and hugged them. Antonio and Mia quickly returned the hug. Once they all started pulling back, Gianna spoke up. "We're so glad you're both alright."
"The other parents have been telling us everything you two have been accomplishing so far and we are so proud of both of you," Mia said.
"You guys still have a lot of explaining to do," Matthew said. "You can't keep the secret of being rangers from us all our lives and not expect us to have questions. I bet you have pretty cool stories of fighting the Nighlok." The parents both laughed at their son's curiosity about their past while Gianna just rolled her eyes.
Later on, all of the new rangers were out in the training yard while the former rangers were in the kitchen with Mentor Ji. "Why did you guys leave us in the dark about all off this?" Mike asked after Antonio and Mia explained everything with Mentor Ji helping out every once in a while.
"We thought it would be better that way," Antonio started. "We felt that if we kept it a secret, Octoroo wouldn't know that we were onto him, and we could try to stop him quietly. It worked for a while."
"But we could've helped," Kevin said.
"Or Octoroo could've found us a lot sooner and found the rock first," Mia chimed in. "It was a lot easier for us to sneak around ourselves."
"I can understand why you two did what you did," Jayden said. "I just wish you didn't."
"But there's one other secret you two kept," Emily said. "I can't believe you two started dating without telling any of us."
Antonio and Mia looked like they were about to say something when Lauren spoke first. "You two do look very happy together, for the record," she said. Antonio and Mia both smiled and blushed at that comment.
Out in the training yard, Matthew noticed Rosie was just sitting on a bench reading a book by herself. He had noticed that she tends to keep a bit more to herself than a lot of the others and he was going to change that. He walked up to her and took the book out of her hands.
She gasped at the sudden loss of the book at looked up at the book thief. "Give that back!"
"Make me!" Matthew said as Rosie was reaching up to grab the book, Matthew was taller.
Rosie came to the conclusion that Matthew was incredibly annoying...and possibly cute...but definitely annoying.
"Just give it back to her." Matthew and Rosie both looked at the person who had just spoken, which happened to be Gianna, and she was holding Adrian's hand.
"Finally, you two admit that you're together!" Matthew exclaimed.
Gianna and Adrian's eyes widened. "You knew?!" she asked.
"It was pretty obvious," Benjamin said.
"I'm 12 and I knew you guys were together," Brandon added.
"So, now what?" Adrian asked the obvious question.
"We know Octoroo is still out there," Juliet said. "It's up to us to make sure the Sanzu River doesn't flood our world and stop any Nighlok he throws our way."
All seven kids piled their hands on each other. "SAMURAI FOREVER!" they all yelled as they threw their hands in the air. They were now the samurai rangers and, unlike the samurai rangers before them, Octoroo was their main threat. They were going to defeat him.
