Over the next few days, the rangers were concerned about what Trent might do at school. They over heard Randall talking to Trent about his teacher's being concerned. But, he could have cared less. Anton Mercer was subbing for Tommy. He told the teens that he really knew his stuff and they would learn a lot from him. And a Mrs. Shultz was subbing Kimberly.

One day in the lab, Kira asked Tommy about a dinosaur bone. It turned out that it was one of the experiments that he had done with Anton. It was on mind control. However, they decided it was best if the scrapped the project.

The teens told Tommy and Kimberly that they were taking a field trip to the museum. They couldn't wait to hear what Kira, Ethan, and Conner thought of the museum. The museum had recently more rooms built in order to expand their exhibits. Tommy had been wanting to go see the museum. But, as long as he was out of school, that wasn't a possibility. Whoever was in the museum would see him. He had no doubt that word would get back to Randall.

Tommy and Kimberly were sitting in the lab when they got a call from Kira.

"Dr. O, Ms. Hart, I think I may have spotted a dinosaur egg," Kira said. "Could you go check it out? I would do it. But, I have to get home."

"Sure, Kira," Kimberly answered as she put her helmet on and go on the ATV with Tommy. "We will let you know what we find."

After riding around in the forest and through parts of Reefside, they returned to the lab. Tommy and Kimberly got each other out of their ranger suits and took a seat on the couch. Then they immediately noticed something was wrong. The bone that Tommy had a discussion with Kira the the previous day was missing.

They noticed that someone had just activated the secret stair case.

"Kira has been acting werid all day," Conner stated.

"And now she doesn't want to hang out with us," Ethan declared. "Something is definitely wrong!"

"Dr. O, we're concerned about Kira-"

"-so are we, Conner," Kimberly interrupted when they reached bottom of the stair case. "She contacted us and said she spotted a dinosaur egg. We went to check it out and there is nothing there. When we came back a bone was missing."

"I think Kira came in and took it," Tommy stated. "That is so not like her. When did you notice that she was starting to act strange?"

"It was our trip to the museum," Ethan realized. "We noticed that she wasn't with the group. And we went to look for her. When we found her, she looked like she was in a daze. She wouldn't leave the group unless she saw something out of the ordinary."

"She must have seen something lurking around and went to check it out," Conner gasped as Fossilador came up on screen. "And she must been under a trance."

"Kim, the boys and I will go take care of the monster," Tommy declared. "You go find Kira."

"Dino thunder power up!"

Kimberly arrived at the museum and a lot of girls were screaming. They couldn't believe they were actually seeing the pink ranger in person. Many were begging their parents to let them get autographs. But, they told their daughters she was probably there for ranger business. One little girl said it could be an event that was going on. But, her mother told her if they power rangers were going to be at the museum, it would have announced.

"Excuse me, I need to get in there!" Kimberly stated as she ran up to the security guard.

"The museum is closing-"

"-you, don't understand. I am here on ranger business!" Kimberly interrupted. "I think there is a high school student in there. Please let me go in and see."

The security guard didn't say anything. He just unlocked the door and Kimberly ran inside. She walked through the rooms and immediately noticed there was a dinosaur bone exhibit. And they looked exactly like the Fossilador monster's bones. That must be why Kira was under a spell. Whoever put her under a spell wanted the last bone. Kimberly walked through the museum until she noticed the storage room door was open. She walked inside and saw Kira passed out on the floor.

"Kira!" Kimberly cried as she started to shake her. "Kira, are you okay?"

"I'm okay," Kira answered as she slowly opened her eyes. "Ms. Hart, I am so sorry about the dinosaur bone-"

"-it's not your fault you were under a mind control spell," Kimberly assured her. "We can talk about this later. For now we need to get down town and help the others with Fossilador."

"Kira, I'm not mad at about what happened," Tommy assured Kira when they all returned to the lab. "If I am mad at anyone, it would be the person or creature who put you under the spell."

"Dr. Oliver, I am just curious about why would Anton Mercer have the remaining bones of Fossilador in his museum," Kira stated."It doesn't make sense. You said you decided not to finish the project."

"Maybe he is doing a different experiment that I am not aware of," Tommy stated as he and Kimberly helped each other out of their ranger suits. "But, I can't imagine what kind of project it would be."

"Dr. O, he is one strange guy," Ethan informed as he took a seat on the couch. "Ever since he became our substitute teacher, I have noticed a lot of unusual things about him."

"One time he ran out of class to the bathroom," Conner remembered. "He said he wasn't feeling good."

"Conner, it has happened more than once!" Ethan reminded him.

Meanwhile, a very weak Anton Mercer appeared in Mesogog's fortress. His body was shaking and sweat was pouring down his body. Anton grabbed some items to make a serum. Hopefully, if it worked he could stay in control. He was tired of making excuses to why he had to leave class. And he hated being questioned by teachers and students about what was going on with him. No body would understand his reasoning. They would just see him as a monster and a mad scientist.

"Please work," he prayed as he finished the serum.

Just as he was about to take the serum, he dropped to his knees. Mesogog was starting to take over.

Over the next month, Tommy and Kimberly started to spending a lot of time in the house unless going out for a battle. They were still able to remove each others helmets and unzip their suits. One day, the rangers walked into Tommy's lab and saw Tommy and Kimberly going through through several years of paper work and pictures. They noticed that Tommy still hasd a picture of him with the first original team.

"Wow, Ms. Hart was beautiful back in those days," Ethan stated as he looked at the picture. "No wonder you fell in love with her."

"Yes, that had something to do with," Tommy explain. "But, I loved the person she was and is. She has the biggest heart there ever was. She is kind, loyal, and caring. Kim became my best friend and I knew I could never let her go."

"And I feel the same way about Tommy," Kimberly added when she took hold of his hand. "We have faced a lot together. And we have even had our disagreements. All couples do. But, there isn't another man that I would rather be with."

"Look at Dr. O's hair," Kira teased as Tommy put the picture in the keep pile. "I bet he looked hot."

"He did," Kimberly declared as she kissed Tommy on the cheek.

Kira went through the pictures and came across an old faded picture. It looked like a younger. verson of Tommy and Anton. There was a younger man. But, that part of the picture was very blurry.

"Dr. O, who is this?" Kira asked as she pointed to the unknown man.

"That is Terence Smith. we called him "Smitty". We were up for the same position with Anton and I got the job," Tommy explain. "Smitty took a job elsewhere, where a horrible accident occurred. Kira, put that photo in the trash pile."

"How are things at school going?" Kimberly asked.

"I was trying to help Derrick. He plays on the same soccer team as me," Conner explained. "Derrick accidentally kicked the ball farther than he intended. And it hit Ethan's laptop and knocked it out of his hand. Derrick called Ethan a geek and a fight almost happened."

"Ethan, fighting is never the answer. It leads to more trouble," Kimberly warned. "You need to talk to the bully. If the bullying continues, you need to get an adult at school involved."

A few days later, Tommy and Kimberly got word from the other rangers that Zeltrax wanted them to meet him at the warehouse. They are instructed to come alone. Tommy and Kimberly arrived at the warehouse and Zeltrax appeared out of no where. He tried to hit Kimberly with a powerful blow. But, Tommy jumped in front of her and took the attack.

"Tommy, are you okay?" Kimberly cried as she ran over to him after he hit the ground .

"Zeltrax, why did you try to attack Kimberly-"

"-we have a history. I am Terrance Smith. You robbed me of the job I wanted. You always got praise and no one noticed me or gave me a chance. The reason why my science experiment went wrong was because I wanted it to," Zeltrax explained. "But, it turned out worse than I wanted it to. I was trying to make the science dome explode hoping that people he cared about especially Kimberly would perish."

"How is it possible that you survived?" Tommy asked as Kimberly helped him up.

"Mesogog found me and rebuilt me as a cyborg," Zeltrax answered.

"You don't have to fight on the evil side-"

"-I refuse to fight for good," Zeltrax hissed as he dodged a powerful blow that Tommy sent at him. "Some day I will get even with you."

Tommy was stunned that Smitty is actually Zeltrax. As Kimberly was helping him out of his ranger suit, she told him that it was shocking for her too. She hated that Smitty was so unhappy that he felt like he had to harm other people.

"Did you know that Smitty always had a thing for you?" Tommy asked.

"I did," Kimberly answered."He asked me out one time. But, I turned him down. I was madly in love with you."

The next day, the teens came to the lab. They took a seat on the couch as Kimberly got them out a drink from the mini refrigerator.

"Ethan how was school today?" Tommy asked.

"Derrick and I had another confrontation," Ethan started as he took sip of his water. "He wanted to see me after school. In your class, he tripped me when I entered the classroom. Conner and Kira tried to talk me out of it."

"Please, don't tell me you got in a fight," Kimberly prayed as she took a seat next to Tommy. "I told you fighting doesn't solve anything."

"Relax, Ms. Hart," Ethan assured her. "We didn't fight. I made a deal with Derrick. I asked Derick if could improve his kicking skills, if he would leave me and my friends alone. I used my laptop and showed what he was doing wrong. After I showed Derick, he was able to score a goal. He then apologized to me. Everything is okay between us now."

Author's note:

I think if Kim was in dino thunder she would have been the one to find Kira in the museum instead of Haley. In the show, they never explained what happened with Smitty's experience. I can see him having a crush on Kimberly and being jealous of her relationship with Tommy.
